good night ((jellen))
as usual, grem, with small grids
what's the count for your word jilli?
yeah
sorry -- I forgot to save what I wrote for it -- it's what you might see if you were hi4/8
I've fixed my profile now if anyone is interested ;)
thanks like the tear drop story as well
I can't figure out what word that's a clue for.
I wanted to post an icon clue quickly before everyone finished and left so it's just silly.
it's good
Although those facial features are definitely not al5ed.
grem, that's because you're an old sobersides, maybe ;)
Never heard of that word.
But I am sober for sure!
never heard of hi4/8???
"sobersides"
makes me dizzy to look at it jilli
Imagine that! I used a word grem didn't know!
me too lol where did you find it jilli?
Pah. Bezonian.
google images for drunk
you know I liked yesterday's grid better than this one
that google has everything lol
You mordant bibliobibuli, you.
I did too but just didn't have time to enjoy it. I don't like these little meanies.
Oh yes, grem, you use words I don't know all the time, lol!
I did enjoy yesterdays - except for when I had to find 142 words all over again!
Oh? What happened?
have you ever noticed, on huge grids, sometimes your word list doesn't retain all words? that's what happened, computer was turned off, and when turned on, I lost everything from se5 on and had completed that end
oh how awful
was a bit annoying!
Haven't had that happen, flosey, but Lickety did come on and warn us that there might be a problem with Expert when the grid was so big.
I didn't think to tell hubby not to turn it off when we went out!
I tried turning the computer off again, and lost everything from ro 7 on; but it remembered - so I about went nuts filling in sections of Lickety so I knew what I was missing!
Maddeing typing in a word, being told "you have already entered . . ." - just to verify that it was in babble's memory.
when my computer is turned off, I have to send words to lickety when I turn on again
yes helen, that's what I was doing
so do I now, flosey -- never used to happen.
I don't know if I've ever turned the computer off in the middle of solving one.
Usually I just put it in sleep mode overnight.
lol grem, perhaps there isn't anyone else using your computer?
grem, you finish so fast you've never needed to.
yes, me too!!
jilli: usually so, yes - I think only once did I not finish in one sitting.
flosey: nope, mine and mine alone
I never use sleep mode. Someone told me it's too hard to wake it up.
The only problem is that about half the time the mouse fails to work correctly upon wake-up, but it just takes a few seconds to unplug the USB and plug it back in.
And my new computer's quick about it - takes about 5 seconds to wake up completely.
I don't dare try it.
Is your new one Windows 7, grem?
Yeah. That's the main reason it's quick.
I think I told you that our oldest granddaughter graduated from UMass
Yes -- great, west :)
we are going to host a lobster dinner in Maine for 40 - 50 people
Oh yum!!!
should be lots of fun
congrats to your granddaughter west
thanks flosey and jilli we're really proud of her..one down and four to go
al
oops, sorry, hit enter accidentally there

She's going to the hospital for stitches in her hand from hitting the road!
me too, west.
you should have a great time then always love seeing my grands
groan grem lol
Sarah Palin's son is in the grid, and he's a word too!
I keep seeing her last name too
Palin herself is a phantom.
<-- tries to remember Sarah's son. Hard, cuz usually try to forget all to do with her.
And a real stretch for her first name - got the consonants in a line, anyway.
She gives me a pa4.
lol, Sarah who!
short for type of math
Hooray for flosey :D
The Hindu goddess Kali is in the grid, but she's not a word. Do Sikhs worship Kali?
It also means "smart and trim, as in appearance; neat" - I'm not sure that as an abbreviation for the type of math it counts - could be, though.
algie would be short for algebra but it doesn't work.
Doug: Sikh in the grid, too!
tr4 works, surely that can't be his name?
I heard "****" and "calc" a lot in school, but never an abbreviation for algebra.
it is
Or geometry, for that matter.
That's why I asked. I tried that as a word too...I'm sure I've tried that as a word before. But the fact that it isn't a word meant I could say it without a trip to the PB
oh yes, tr4 -- already had that.
I keep trying anno, as in a.d., but noooo.
Though it might look so, a ka6 is not a worshipper of any goddesses.
gaaah finally half way now I can list
wd west
thanks jilli hope it helps
phant -- foist
and fohns
and pfennig
and english
I tried anglia
tried that too west
I'm making up a lot of words which work.
hmm, well over halfway now.

thank you flosey lol
funny, flosey :)
that finished my Fs, thanks
yw west, the kids all watched that show
I thought it was spelled with a Z.
and jilli
I still call Ron Howard Richie Cunningham
Yes, grem, but it will do ;)
or Opie
yes, Opie! with the Mayberry gang
That show was a bit too early for me. I was alive for most of it, but too young.
lol grem, I go back before tv!
catch the reruns
me too flosey lol
I remember getting our first radio.
got our first tv in 1950.. all rabbit ears and test patterns
Even college-aged kids these days are younger than the internet - now even I can feel old.
wow, jilli
well this is better than yesterday!
nu uh katie lol
The explosion of public awareness of the internet, that is.
no it isn't, katie!
it's little and mean
oh no and i've just started adding words :-(
katie, flosey, west and I have icon clues
If you're a Persian Scotsman, the grid should be a snap!
Or even a prurient Jewish Scot.
alini isn't a word, but blini is a phantom *getting hungry*
thanks jilli
hmmm Mari is in Scotland with no computer and yet she is shown as being on line, should I go to her house and check they have logged off the computer?
could be, katie!
maybe she got a laptop and took it with her?
phantom: signal
Gran has no wireless connection so she won't have taken it. I'll wait for a bit and then phone her first! Her brain has gone with all the preparation for this wedding lol
hi all
when is the wedding?
hi barb and ruru
hi barb
I'm getting married?
tomorrow west, I'm really looking forward to it but will be walking round the house practising my readings all day. Just checked and she isn't on the list so I must have misread it
hmmm never do to well with small grids but here goes
hi ruru
hi jilli
how nice katie a may wedding
are you having good weather I hope?
hi ruru, I don't know if you are but my baby cousin certainly is
The weather is supposed to be really good, so here is hoping!
he is marrying just the most lovely girl as well which makes is even more special
that's always a plus
you must feel honored they asked you to do the readings
I am west, the said I was the only normal regligious person they knew - I'm sure there is a complement in there somewhere lol

Hi stid.
Hi stid, stealth hugs right back

*gentles hugs for barb -- sorry, I didn't know about the fibromyalgia*
barb at least now they're admitting it does exist
I saw the specialist today for the fm...I could have some really strong drugs for the pain but I don't want to go there I have to be able to function
thanks stid...
yes west and that it isn't all in our minds
I have almost finished grading the papers for the students to review/edit/revise tomorrow... will do the 6th period papers during planning tomorrow. I am NOT "super teacher" (yet) but I think I am starting to start getting the hang of some of it.
Ok, will I need a fish for the southeast solitary i?
in 5/10
there are just times I feel so useless....especially when i look at what my mom was doing at my age...
you're awesome stid !!
Tom is scanning some of the papers for me so I can document the level the students are writing at for the master's program.
I think I would have liked to have you for a teacher
go stid ..I am sure you do your very best :)
barb maybe you can find a happy medium
I would so love that westford
BARB!!!! *VERY stern mama look* as someone who has battled severe postpartum depression, debilitating back pain and only JUST got into the garden after 2 years on crutches and cane... you are doing the best you can; there is NO comparison to our mothers that is valid. They are different people with different operating parameters.
hey where are my other 400 words? Morning all :)
hi sprite we traded them in for this little meanie
AND, Barb... take the good days and enjoy them, and don't sweat the hard days. You will get the important stuff done. *hopes sprite has been listening to my "motherly" advice*
and I second stid. Firmly.
hey spritely !!! *tags sprite gently* you're it!
hm ok, meanie... at least a challenge ;) Thanks west!
okay stid.....okay it is just i use to do so much and now so very little your right though I do try my best...just hard to learn to be limited is all...
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{stiddie}}}}}}}}}}}}}} You are it... the bee's knees and the ant's pants.
okay okay I will try to remember that...but I hope every so often you will remind me okay?
I understand COMPLETELY, Barb. I think most of us who babble are high-achievers when we can be. Well -- for myself, medium-high achiever...
ant's pants???? *breaks down laughing* THAT is the FUNNIEST thing I have "heard" all week! roflmao!
thanks sprite. :-D
oooo bee's knees and ants pants...have not heard that in a very long time
Barb, exactly the thing you describe now has been my major battle for the last 10 or 12 years. Copy stiddie's comment and hang it on your wall or fridge. You ARE doing the best you can. That makes you a HERO. No kidding. It is tough as hell to be in there and still manage to make things work. Be proud. Please.
Okay, I have to finish pulling things together for tomorrow. I have to be up, moving and ready to torture 8th graders again in 6 1/2 hours.
thanks sprite and stid and everyone else who has given me a pep talk when I needed it the most
lol people here know I love learning idiom. A granddaughter of a babbler here said I was the ant's pants because I answered her in chog.
thanks grem. Will a deli put an in5 on my cheeseburger?
btw Barb, BABBLE is one of the things I credit with helping me through a very rough patch in my life. Gave me the confidence, once I was physically able, to re-enter the world of workers and dreamers of great things.
okay bye for now then stidmama
<-- just emerged from the grid to scroll back and see stid and sprite -- HI!
*hugs stid*
hi jilli!
bye stiddy tc x
So, I am doubly glad you are here, becaue I think Babble helps. (((hugs everyone))) see you-all in a couple weeks! (15 days to the END of the quarter) *poof*
hi katie
hi and bye, stid (this happens too often).
Hi Barb
incompatible schedules. But at least you can hug in passing!
hi katie
*kisses jill and leaves choclits on pillow (and in the kitchen, and the kitchen table, and the dining room table, and by the reading chair, and next to the computer....* *permanent poof*

how has that been working out for you jilli?
no milk at bedtime for 2 weeks (osteoporosis prevention meds) :(
Barb, if you ever need to vent to someone not too close to you, please feel free to email me. Addy is in my profile, just leave out the spaces. Even though I cannot help you, I can listen. Promise.
west, I'm stuck at a 22 lb loss -- want to get rid of a few more.
jilli that's wonderful
thanks so much sprite I do appreciate it
aw jilli, never pleasant to disrupt a good habit. But your bones are worth it.
those last few pounds are always the hardest to lose
on the other hand, jilli, good enough is good enough. 22 lb is wonderful.
i should add my email in my profile
"What's with the negative waves, Moriarty?" Recalling that line from The Dirty Dozen as I get the negatively charged particles
can you put those on your burger too doug? lol
how on earth can there be 8 Ks from that tile. It is mostly surrounded by non-cooperative letters!
They sound like they should go on my burger, don't they?
sprite I put my email in my profile if you ever want to contact me as well...others are welcome to also.
wonderful, Barb, I will.
brb

I remember the guys were cuties
hey BabbleRabble, glad to see you.
It was a show about two Western outlaws who had decided to go straight. They were secretly pardoned by the Governor, but nobody else knew about it, so they lived rather stressful (but entertaining) lives
hah, googled *Smith and Jones, got it.
it wasn't anything great, jilli. They were ex Western outlaws who were secretly doing good.

Well, with all these brilliant cluers around, I'll head for bed. Night all, and happy babbling! *poof*
sleep well jilli
hi everyone
hey Andree!
that fl29 word was the longest in the first edition Oxford English dictionary
i ran off in fright after yesterdays, so how is this one
much harder, Andree
Hello all
hi lyn!
hi lynxxx
finished in about 1/5 the time as yesterday's
since it's about 1/5 as many words, I guess it's about the same
it must be sprite, i am struggling to get any words
yeah it is a lot tighter. Interesting though.
but you are not human grem, lol
Andree, what a lovely group of grandies you have
pi6 seems to be an old-fashionedy Bible word that's making a comeback in newer translations
pi6 meaning "The outer rear edge of the wing of a bird, containing the primary feathers" ?
Or "a round gear used in several applications: usually the smallest gear in a gear drive train" ?
ah, so that describes Sprite's icon clue!
beautiful, Andree, your icon troupers
they are aren't they, one will be 4 tomorrow
lol flosey, no please refresh!
yes, Sprite, I had forgotten, was thinking of your earlier one and didn't understand it
guess one doesn't often find feathers on that article Sprite!
Must get to bed, early day tomorrow
I didn't want to show off our Princess's tears for another day, so I picked a temporal one before hitting the grid. Updated as soon as I found a good word.
sleep well, flosey
I've always wondered about that, grem. The wing edge, the wing edge. I would hear cars advertising "rack and pi6 steering" as if that were something really cool, and I never got the connection between that and the Bible verses mentioning pi7. It's comforting to know that there isn't one to get.
thank goodness it wasn't li5.14
off to find lil5.14 :)
ok found it, now to look for the meaning, lollll
there are 2 li5/14s anagrams of each other
bye flosey
bye Andree
Chinese unit of weight, equal to 1/16 catty... would that have been bad, lyn?
you need the other one Sprite - apparently there is 2
awwwww if only I had seen that earlier :) :) Thanks, flosey and lyn
take that Chinese li5, reverse, add a vowel in front
looking for chinese li
start out as if you'd type Tarzan's favorite way of transportation
li & Dr Ch*** who was murdered
a vine!
thx lyn and sprite
"any of various usually woody vines that may climb as high as the tree canopy in a tropical forest"
yvw Andree :D
any clue for st 7-36 please

st + consonant + a devotional watch is a v****

thanks sprite
TY Grem
Now you should have the si5 :)
yw sandra
i have gremlin thanks
27 to go
Ata, stop lurking! Akri is in the grid!
akri?
yep. Honorific title from a series of books Ata introduced me to.
an Anglia is in the grid - that is showing my age off
it means both father and master
lol lyn
my phantom for today is a person who values nothing. Keeps popping up.
sprite: ni8?
yep
you got the ni5 right Sprite?
that was my second phantom; first was "anhinga" (a bird)
lol yes, I have the ni5 and the li4. Just cannot make them connect
darn, found those lines on my belly
lol, that stopped the chat sprite
totally! Wasn't supposed to though ;)
hi, folks, long time no see! :) any hint for the lone i in the 4th column for nbt for me?
hi rbud
hi Rosebud
hiya rosebud!
in5 like the vegetable that makes you cry
any clue for ni7-36 please
I think that might be the Il**s and the odyssee
nope, lyn is right.
haha, thanks! I must be out of practice for sure - but then I usually did miss that one, I recall... :P
ni7 - plural to the ni6. Short latin for nothing + sounds like boys
it is easy to miss! Vowel words...
thanks sprite
yvw sandra
ha 6/27 please
ha6.27 like flagging down a cab but lose the i
hello
hi Ruby
thanks lyn
Ruby - you got Max on!
hi rubyfoo
thx lynxxx
on the telephone
with the insurance company
are you trying to claim the fish!
that gave me more gerunds, thanks lyn. Thought they couldn't work but they can.
hi ruby
off the phone
How is everybody? I haven't even read over the chog for clues! What a morning!
what happened?
I came downstairs and husband had basically emptied the pantry, expected me to go through stuff without even having a cup of coffee first. And it went downhill from there!
hm not good. I hope you made yourself a cup of coffee nontheless.
Am I missing something, why did he do that?
+ e somewhere
beats me!
maybe a little bit manic?
lol
Hello
hi herin
wb lady
are you packing up there Ruby?
hi guys
I'm putting him up on e-bay again. Any takers? Cheap
hi herin , did you sort out you MYOB problem
asking for trouble - not letting you get coffee first
hi Infernal and Sandy
does he make good money? if so then I will take him!
as Garfield says: Don't talk to me before I had my second cup of coffee!
for once, I answered him back! Good for me!!!!
good for you, rubyfoo!
How are you. No Andree I didn't but I did get the right version from tafe. Just doing a few things at the moment then I will test it
he's retired.... :(
was he cleaning the pantry Ruby?\
he could spend a while here. I think the culture shock of having me around will make him appreciate you a lot more!
well he should be in a better frame of mind then
Hi Sandy
and Sprite
hi sandy
he went to the store after trying to apologize
I said, no way.
sandy! Sorry, didn't see you come in. Welcome!
Hi everyone. Have we all recovered from yesterday's monster?
rubyfoo, a hurray for you. You're not a doormat, great to see you won't let him walk over you.
usually I'm not like that, but it's not like I do nothing all day or sleep late!
Opps Sorry Lynxx and anyone else I missed
did you actually finish it Sally?
I loved loved loved yesterday's monster. But today's is tricky and makes up for being small by being tight.
Yes I did. I was determined!
hi Sally
Sally rocks :)
i ran off when i saw yesterdays
Haven't started today's yet, just on my second coffee. And hi lynxxx
I loved it, too, but couldn't get far beyond half -- still my highest all-time score!
beyond halfway is good
I had to list yesterday just because of the size! I have (cough, cough) a life outside Babble.
Think yesterday's was over 8,000 points.
life? life?
same here, Sally, lol. At the end, I just couldn't think of any more words to try. The li4 was a blessing.
I totalling indulged in it - was good fun. Got down to 37 before listing
and I missed it
However I am looking blankly at today's and haven't seen a single word.
yep, down to 25 before li4 but very happy to be able to get help for that last part!
I am watching Make me a supermodel USA and one of the girls after her shoot was commented on by the photographer that she was too big to be a model. She is a size 8 and 5 10. sigh
lol, thanks for the hint sprite!
*giggles* yw!
5 10 and size 8? I wish!!!!
they'd have to put me on a rack!
that man was too small to be a photographer
Sprite I think she looks like um Miss Ryder
fireflies!
Congrats Spritey!
wow sprite! how long did it take you?
Well done sprite! Was it a difficult one?
yay sprite
errr don't know exactly. From about quarter to 9 till now, but with several breaks... cannot really say.
Sally: yeah, rather tight. And some uncommon words too.
Leaving my rest for the morning, goodnight all. Going to brave the cold night air and walk to a local restaurant
worth the walk, I think, lyn! Enjoy dinner and have a lovely evening.
bye lynxxx
bye for now lynxxx
Bye Lynxx don't freeze
I am off too. Bye sandy, Sally, Andree, lady, rubyfoo and whoever is lurking. Have fun!
try to have a good day saprite :-)
loves Sprite
bye sprite
my kitty is yowling
and fireworks for me so I am off to have some dinner
loves
phone have to go
I think this grid will be too hard for me.
I need another e and fewer i's
It is hard to find words, ruby. Only have 36 so far :-(
that makes me feel a little better!
if it's hard for sally, then of course it is hard for me! lol
lol, I'm flattered.
38 words!
Phew! Exactly half-way. What a slow-coach I am today.
this i s very hard and it is freezing again
how cold is it there, sally?
me too Sally...slow going
Freezing?
hi kallia
hi ruby
My outside thermometer is showing 25.6 C
it's hot today
wow, here it's around 10C
still no roses or peonies
tulips are still continuing....
That's about 78 F for anyone who needs it.
more than a month later than usual
You are high up, aren't you though ruby?
about 1200 ft
there is still snow on the mountains but we usually have many flowers in April and May
I am praying that the fish are just hiding because of the cold, but my poor husband is so sad because he thinks that they are all gone
he's a total mess
grieving
Oh, so you don't know for sure? I'm so sorry he is sad. Couldn't you sneak some replacements in without him knowing?
I think the heron would come back immediately!
that's a good idea, though
we saw 4 fish two days ago, but none since and he's been in the pond (in his waders)
Yes, well you really need to have some protection in place before that. Like with our hens - we can't get any more until we have our electric fence up and running
He might tread on the fish, ruby!!
in the past, when he's gone in the pond, they've all nibbled on his legs. I think they were so tame, thought the heron was going to feed them
I think netting would be impossible with the waterlilies
It also helps to have places where they can hide. We have some old terracotta pipes in our pond where the newts and frogs/tadpoles can hang out.
there were reeds, potsa, floating plants, etc plenty of places to hide. I just think that they came up and offered themselves to the heron-god!
What about these things? <http://www.netfloat.co.uk/>
checking
sally, that looks like a great idea! I sent the site to my husband
This might give you some ideas as well: <http://www.buildyourownpond.biz/house -fish/heron-at-fishpond.html>
I thought it looked unobtrusive, ruby
I am not organizing my trip! Will let you know by tomorrow AM what is actually happening
ruby, I don't think I can meet you in London, sadly. I've sprained a ligament in my knee and it is unbelievably painful. Running round London and jumping on and off buses is probably not a good idea for a week or so. I hope very much there will be another time though.
How was your son's visit?
there will CERTAINLY be another time Sally!!!! I very much want to meet you. My son's visit was good and bad - only sons (1st husband, John, 2nd husband, etc) are all the same, always right and at the tops of their voices. I feel demolished and will be glad to get out of here, even if only for 3 days!
and I'll see my nephew and his family and have some good food and have big English breakfasts in my hotel!
SAlly, are you copying me???
How old is your son? Mine used to be like that until he had his own son. Now, suddely, is he is all growed up!
I don't even know if my sister is coming or not as her husband is gravely ill.....
Sorry about your sister and husband :-(
he's 46! Just an expert on everything as is his wife and my husband.
A bully always needs a victim to survive. Don't be that victim!
is your husband an only son, too?
gosh I seem to be the only babbler without a bad knee!
when he and I are alone, it is OK, but as soon as my husband is in the room, it becomes unbearable.
No, my husband is one of three, the oldest. Has a brother and sister.
how about ata's husband?
lol ruby, well it's easy to work that one out!
I also have a brother and sister, but I was the youngest.
yes, I usually "drifted" off
Katie, I'm glad your knee is OK :-)
yes, katie!!
hwe has an older sister
well I hope yours and ata's get better soon
Oh, hallo Ata, didn't see you there :-)
at least my clothes are good for the trip!
Oh, mine isn't anything as bad as Ata's.
even if my hair is a catastrophe!
you need a bondage brace too :D
Clothes? Clean T-shirt and spare undies is normally all I pack.
I have to go make lunch, see you all after!
I still need to go shopping, get my eyebrows and toes done, pack and then get ready, alll before 4.30 - I really should be getting on with things lol
no, I need to dress up for 3 parties
for the wedding?
I have a knee support but don't much like wearing it. However, I have been told to rest, so no washing up for me. Big false si4
brb
yep, Mari has gone up with about 4 bags for me and now I need to sort out the camera etc
wear it, Sally!!
If I have to wear mine at all times, you can too :P
ooo fun Katie!
i'm really looking forward to it but will be glad when the readings are out of the way
urf yes I bet.
right I really must get myself going. see you all later x

hi annie!
Hello Ata...how's the leg? Is FM coming to visit today?
Good morning everyone. This is a more managable grid today.
((Mom)) I thought I was the only one here.
{{Annie}} hello.
I had 72 left yesterday and couldnt come back to finish. Did you finish that monster yesterday?
oh heavens no, I stopped with 200 left
no FM :( She has an abscess behind a tooth, poor dear :(
This grid is not as friendly as yesterday. The gerund ending is somewhat helpful.
oh how painful. {{FM}} Hi Ata, how are you doing?
hi all
Oh poor FM! I feel badly for her. I hope it is being taken care of soon.
ANNIE!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm ok! Been sitting outside for the morning in the sunshine :)
{{Carlee}} good morning
Well!!! If it isnt carlee! How are you, dear girl?
the sunshine will lift the spirits.
hi mom!!!
i am the same annie...still floating along on top of a life that keeps trying to derail me...but am good..loads of support
and u annie?
carlee, hang in there, girl. How is Scarlet? I am doing okay too.
she is fine...digging in the garden..spoiling beloved...grand babies and grand kitty as per usual
carlee, Nice to hear good things about Scarlet. How are your children?
kids are good..son graduating from highschool...daughter from grade school
son playing junior a level rugby
Congrats to Carlee's son and daughter
congratulations..children grow up so quickly.
yes they do
I have many blessings
carlee, are you working? are your feet still purple?
no more purple feet :'(
I am working for a crimianl defense lawyer now
That should be very interesting. I am sure you meet very upstanding pillars of the community.
definitely...drug dealers, smugglers, pornipraphers, murderers...it takes all kinds
pornographers*
Keep up the good fight, carlee.
i am///no choice but to..right?
Right!
so how about u?
Good morning, I have ha7 and pi7, could you please tell me what the other two are?
I am good. thanks for asking. right now I am fighting with this grid.

singing is good
tomorrow is the Big Day for my uncle
is there a wedding?
yep
it's such a Good Thing for him
his first wife left him and married someone else. and then later that year his cat died and he got in a bad skiing accident. this was years ago.
I wish your Uncle and his bride a long and happy life together.
and then a few years ago he found this woman who actually went to his same high school, back east, but now they both live in colorado! they knew each other vaguely back then and they got to know each other more now and she was also divorced in a sad way and now they are happy.
she is very nice, has spent time with us a few christmases since they got together.
They have a sort of history. You see, there is sometimes a silver lining. Happy ending.
thank you annie
yes, happy ending (for some people anyway!)
yes, they are lucky. sometimes you have to manufacture your own happy ending.
Congratulations to your uncle, hursh, may they have a long and happy marriage.
the other day we met this guy and his wife, married 35 years. he said, "it's important to be happy". and i said, "or just married for 35 years". (they did not immediately grasp my cynical humor)
being married for 35 years and not happily is sort of a jail sentence. maybe he just settled but you never know about people.
no, they did seem happy. i was reflecting my own feelings.
hurshy, If you are going through some hard times I am sorry.
20 years is a jail sentence too
it's not hard times... it just is what it is.
yes, carlee, but werent you paroled?
*can I come out now*
i am now
yes, momneeds come out and play
just dealing with all the crap that goes with parole...like getting ready to sell home and find a place for kids and I
*happily skipping to join friends*
yes, carlee, that is a hassle
I have my own jail sentence going - you are a brave girl to take that step with kids
Good morning ... traveling again and computer broke. Haven't been here for a week. I can't find Lickety ... is there a list anywhere?
merk, lickety has a list today
havent looked since lickety is working
Then my computer is really giving me grief! ty for the info.
My lickety shows 184 words, but the grid says 102. There's a hiccough somewhere here.
try refreshing, merk
I did, several times.
that is the extent of my computer knowledge..sorry merk
I just tried it at firefox and got the list. Wonder what's wrong with my IE.
glad you got the list.
lots of strange words in this puzzle
this is also the puzzle of reversed vowels
OK so I am finally allowed to come out of the PB and everyone runs - hmmm
poor mnh!
Oh Good Morning Ata

the hotels is from the second row and the scientific word is from the first
you are correct, dan. i already have that one...
lower I rhymes with veg that causes tears
the request was for the i and a in the right column
thanks dan. thats the one i needed. :)

Hi all, how are the babblers? How is the grid. After yesterday's I was expecting a grid with 3 vowels in it and about 40 words, all Welsh.
ah or a form of mathematics ty katie

it is a mean but not completely undoable grid so far
Hey, I have the top row grayed out and I just started
nbt and I am off to a meeting

A clue for the lower right singleton i for nbt would be nice.
I only have the hammer target and 'soon'
ni6 = slang for nothing/negative + I am ***ning weight like crazy since I stopped smoking (pl)
yay, hello mom!
singleton i rhymes with veg that causes tears
Good Morning Ruby
ai 6/24 clue
ty. a babblet if there ever was one.
ai6 - sick
I don't get that ni6
how are you, mom?

ty ata
dealing with husband who is heartsick about his lost fish and taking it out on me! sally found a possible solution, but they don't deliver in France
I'll have to have my nephew mail it from London
oh Ruby
he keeps going outside and looking at the pond....it's sad
I put a bronze antique heron on th edge, but it's too late
loss of his pet (fish or not) is sad
of course it is, but it's very hard to comfort someone who is so nasty
we both fell apart when we last lost a dog prematurely
trust me I understand that
I found our 2-year-old chow Cleo dead in the snow; it was about the worst thing I ever experienced
oh no - that is horrible
if a dog is older, although it is still heartbreaking, it's not unexpected
its hard enough when its old age
poor ruby! that must have been horrid
Rufus was 10, which is not so bad for a chow chow. But if we hadn't lost Cleo, we wouldn't have my Ruby!
and then, of course, there's Max, who, by the way, has totally changed in the past two weeks and now wants me to pet him! After 6 years, it's amazing!
thats great ruby
awww Max!
he is so happy when I pet him that he drools!
it's still not every day, but more and more, this from a dog who would flinch every time he was touched and couldn't make eye contact and was afraid of his food bowl
clue for the ka6 please
awwwwwwwwwwwwww
Animals are funny.... my cat recently learned to hiss at 11 years old... he does not do it in anger...he just found his hisser and now spends much of his time scaring himself... LOL!
maybe he finally grew out of the autism
he's still on his meds and I still hand-feed him, but it's a huge improvement and he's very soft and lovable!
that is so cute, mom2!
I'm reluctant to take him off his meds
Yes... it is hysterical, actually.
lol Mom
I got th idea for the meds in the first place from a book by Temple Grandin. Nobody around here thought that a dog could be autistic
maybe you can make a youtube video, mom2
ka6... ka + an animal that roars (but use a different second vowel).
lovely clue
Yes... I probably could... if I knew how to use technology... I should get my teenager to do it.
thanks mom2
yes, I think you have to be less than 15!
yvw
that knocks us out
she is 14... so that will work.
I have to go now as it's cocktail time for that sad guy upstairs! see you later! ((everybody))
bye ruby..
I'm off, too... must go to work.
hisss!
good night (ruby))
bye Mom2
no, it's only 4PM here, I'll be back for another stab later XX
then see you later
bye ruby, ruby and max!
help with the ni5 please
ni5 - latin for nothing
thanks ata - thats fireworks
well done!!
Do you need help before I get to work?
I'm fine, just poking a bit at the grid in between doodling. 13 left!
enjoy then - I am going to run - spent way to much time goofing off yesterday with this puzzle - I need to dig in to work today - happy babbling
ernjoy!
Hello all. 102 and 8 grey boxes to start out?
So who finished yesterday's monster grid?
bit easier than yesterday!
I did Scrabs. That is why I am so sleepy today.
Good for you, wht. I stopped with 188 left--that was enough for me.
I was going to stop a number of times but I kept finding easy ones I had missed where I just needed to add an ending.
*pops in* Hey Scrabs--congrats on your quote puzzler stats--you're doing great!!
Hi Judy. I do "well" on some days (at most 9 stars) and horrendous on others. Triplet Scramble + Scrambled Word confound me most days.
You do well, and nrkii is amazing.
Nrkii is unbelievable
Consistently unbelievable too.
Hello
Hi lady
how you all
Waking up here--slept in.
Just noticed the gerund ending.
Thank you Scrabbler I dind't notice it
ahh, its friday. its beautiful outside, i have a going-away party tonight for a friend, im heading to the beach tomorrow, and im leaving an hour early from work today. to do any work, or not to do any work...
EVA
yes???
Nice day, Eva.
helo
oh, hello! :)
(thought i was about to get reprimanded for slacking off... hehe)
no. Hugs
It's OK to slack off sometimes. It balances out te times when we are overworked.
hugs!
Hi everybody
scrabbler -- we are over worked right now. understaffed: 1-2 people down, depending how you count it, one person whose hours got cut back, and one person who is basically useless. i *almost* feel bad for going away right now, but oh well! i need the rest and relaxation!
Back from phone call. Hi bb. Eva, my former office had many useless workers, so I am familiar with that situation.
can anyone clue the ag6 plz? Can't seem to get it at all.
ag + hammer target
TY, Maggie's Daddy! How is the little Button doing? And Mama?
Of course it is! Thanks so much dan.
we are doing great! Button is sleeping well & nursing just fine - 2 week well-baby visit coming up Monday
she should be back to or beyond birth weight
sorry falling asleep here. Enjoy everyone
Great news, Dan!
bye herin
Taking a break at 41/61.
hi and nbt
yay! getting MRI scan on Monday
Still here, Ata?
what you getting scanned for ata? here mri,s are a rare thing that we wait months for and end up having to drive to Toronto at 2 am to get:)
Hi Crossy! How are you doing with CPAP and diet?
She injured her knee a few wks ago--torn MCL and possibly more.
yep!!
MRIs are equally scarce on the NHS ...
diet is going well, the cpap is a evil torture device lol, last night i managed 5 hours with the thing before i had to remove it
What bothers you with it?
Phantom = (bird) anhinga
when at full pressue after it ramps up it is hard exhale, plus im a tad claustrophobic
mine is set by dr at 8
You will get better at exhaling vs pressure. And switch to nasal cushions--I prefer this to mask.
My pressure is 8 too.
it came with nasal mask, but i do 90% of ny night breathing through my mouth:(
I can't picture nasal cushions
Well, you had to before but now you must breathe through your nose.
Ata, manufacturer for mine = Opus, a company in Oz.
tie my chin shut?? lol
There is a mask that covers mouth + nose or just mouth. Or use duct tape, Crossy.
mine is fisher/paykel
That it a big name in CPAP equipment.
wow ...
it better be for that price lol
Maybe mine = Fisher-Paykel Opus.
darn thing should make me coffee as well.....
And have music + alarm built in.
has a heated humidifer
lol scrabbs
Shall I do gardening or hike first? My friend opted out on hiking with me today.
hiking!!
what;s the weather like?
OK, yesterday I biked but I think my legs are too sore for that today. The weather is gorgeous! Already almost 80 here, and sunny!
hike then before the sun gets too hot
i cannot do much hiking,i walk so many miles in a day,my feet swell after i sit down for 10 minutes after work ;(
I will hike through the park, on the roads, not in woods, and stop at different picnic tables to read + eat/drink.
lovely!
So, I must make lunch, gather snacks, fill hydration pack, slather on sunscreen + bug repellant, out book in pack...and take off.
Crossy, wt loss and improvement with CPAP may help a lot.
yes indeed, the feet take a beating when im carrying 50 pounds too much
At 58/44 here, teasing out words.
i am noticing an energy difference already...so is the mrs....hehe
Likewise with me--I could loose 70 lbs!
Hahaha, Crossy!
i am only weighing one a month,so we will see on the 6th
At my very skinniest, 18 yrs ago, I was 70 lbs lighter than now. But I was thin then, too thin per my mother.
at my smallest adult weight with full workout program in place i was 170
And you are over 6 ft tall, right?
5 ft 11 now, seemed to have lost an inch somewhere
Ha4 loss?
thinner,but still a full head
Stuck with 42 to go. I will return after hiking + use the li4. Bye Crossy!
tc scrabbs

Morning crossy dear and greetings all.
(((FM)))
FM! How are you dear?
Horses sweat, men perspire and women aparently glow according to the quotation - I am glowing like a furnace, just finished a couple of hours gardening and it is so warm today :)
You can glisten, Mama, if you'd like!
im told women do not pass gas either, its more like immaculate evacuation lol
Happy Ata have been planting but now feel like yuck, forgot to take my tablet but have booked a hair appt for tomorrow to make me feel better. Uni dear how was the graduation?
UNIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Graduation was good. Lots of pomp and swagger. I wore my rabbit fur proudly and tripped before I got in, rather than as I received my diploma! :)
yayy!!
Thats my girl!!! - of course we expect pics ASAP. Well done am proud of you.

Thanks, Crossy. If it helps, the rabbit was dead many decades ago, and since they've already killed it, re-using it each year seems good. Then again, I love leather and eat meat. I don't really have qualms about the whole thing :)
I'm glad it's glorious out where you are too, Eva. Maybe it's a globally lovely day?
lol,im just messing with you a bit uni:)
congrats uni!
I figured as much. There were some faux fur options, but I left them for those who were bothered by the real deal, lol.
hi all
Well it certainly is here and the forecast is brill for the weekend too going up to 27 - can't remember what that is in real money,.
back from my interesting meeting
*so proud of Uni*
Hi JMC!
(interesting enough that i didn't play babble during it)
Hi jmc
so now youve graduated you going to be around more?
27 C, FM? That is a beautiful forecast. I am hoping for lots of warm days in a row so I can go swimming or something foolhardy like that.
this is true FM. i do get to see all of you... and share this with you too! http://tinyurl.com/34xsy4x
that is lovely eva! lol did you make it?
we are to have the same 27c..cannot remember what it is in the old scale:(
just check out via google 27c is 80f wow!
oh no, im not that talented. but it makes me giggle... heh
the only thing i still do in imperial mease now is fish and beer lol
Fahrenheit confuses me. I just can't work it, :)
measure*
remember uni,we changed over in 78..what a mess that was!!
nor me Uni
that's okay cuse i can't do centigrade
:-P
lol at url EvaN
I just know that 30 C makes my british friends faint
30 is fine. 40 is hot!
I can do 30c, but when we go around 35 and 40 (kinda rare around here, but we had a 'heat wave' last summer) I get grouchy. 26 is the best, I think!
i prefer 20c or so,around 70 f
so true jmc, just not programmed for that heat as moast of us don't have aircon and it is so rare to get high temps.
i don't have aircon either in DC and everyone here things i am crazy
low 70s suit me fine.
too much limey blood in me lol
Air conditioning. I wish! Well, not really. I love open windows. And a handy fan.
but we do get to 35 and 40C
sorry was just distracted by the sparrows lining up to have a go in the bird bath as I just topped it up a little while ago, they make such a kerfuffle it is so funny to watch.
Hi all. Eating lunch and going blind. A clue for the pi6 please.
phantom "agile"
nm. Just found it. Wing or feather parts. Or something related.
cool,my monkey is in fine form today, lots of nonsense words it seems
the 1st ag6/24 is a doozy.
fireworks
although I have jsut looked up the meaning and it is a 'normal word'.
what does it actually mean?
hello all, not liking this grid as muh as yesterdays
Congrats wht
I think that we just got the words that were leftover after yesterday.
Ata it is a bit on your finger n4/4 that catches and causes pain.
I hope they get a new shipment in soon.
well I am not seeing the ag5 or the ag6 :(
ag5 is someone who discriminates against the elderly.
dream on wht, we are using a very old version of enable here which has about 10,0000 words. If it got updated I hate to think how bigs the girds would be.
ty for the ag5
ag6 ag+ finger part
ag6 is a new word for me

hmmmm good question. I doubt it!!!

hello, all! :-)
Bonjour Une. I have a question about food donations.
bad hubby (Ata)
ok . . .
hi une
hey, jmc :-)
peri?
I will be volunteering at a food pantry starting on June 2. There is a Whole Foods market nearby
ok . . .
I was wonderin who to talk with re possible donations of food to the pantry
(cool beans!)
Peri, I didn't go any "official route"
a friend of my daughter's struck up a conversation with someone in the bakery
do I just walk in and go to customer service?
and discovered they were tossing grocery carts of breads, cakes, etc. every nite
or maybe asking for the manager might be better
hello again everybody
very tough grid, no like yesterday's softie
hmmm, manager maybe OR you could just go to various depts. and ask if they toss food at nite
still haven't reached half
if so, could you pick it up . . . have 5013c document and info about the pantry
will do that, Une. Will talk to the organizer of the food pantry first but I am sure she would not mind
ok
keep us posted!! (you know, Whole Foods prides itself on "giving to the community")
I have a honda civic, but yes I could it up
i have a teeny Nissan Sentra but I can cram a lot into it! LOL
oh, and I take my own boxes (from groceries and liquor stores)
ok
will keep you posted
(and I salvage brown paper bags with handles from the local recycle center bins! LOL)
bbl
later, peri
ok

Hi everybody :)
hi, all
hi, soodle and guernsey
Quiet in here today.... People must be exhausted after yesterday's marathon.
yes, i had to give up yesterday or i'd have been here all day and night
I got fireworks after Zero chat, and three solid hours. OCD, or what? LOL
congrats soodle, and way cool
congratulations, Soodle. i just couldn't face 60 words beginning with r
Or else - 'Get a life, Soodle'!!
no, i really admire your persistence
i was too busy yesterday to finish - flip came with 187 to go
I have never been here for the flip - tucked up in my bed at that hour!
me too. is it an exciting event? i notice that a lot of people try to see it
Love the icon Soodlebum! and hi all
hi jfb
it's neat to see flip It happens at 1 my time, 6 yours
hi, jfb
Hi JFB.
ah, i'm very bad at getting up early
I think the flip happens about 5.00 am our time, GG. I am not a dedicated enough Babbler to get out of the pit at that hour. LOL
midnight grid time :)
Been in and out all day - the joys of retirement! Admitting defeat with 14 to go - night all
Hey, come back JFB. Surely somebody can help you....
st7-36
g'night jfb
insert letters into si5, peg
Too much gardenening - theres a hot bath with my name on it! lol

happy babbling, yall! {poof}
Have a great evening, DC. Best regards to Tom.
ty soodle
by dc
ty, soodle and guernsey - he says hi :) {re-poof}
now, i'm just stuck on the two middle n's. ni6/24 and ni7/36. can anyone help please?
Mad words, GG. The first three letters are the first three letters of another word for zero, often used in sports scoring.
The final three letters of the ni 6/24 are you are either for or a***nst me. And plural
They were very clumsy clues, I hope you can follow them, GG
thanks soodle. FIREWORKS
If only i'd learned more about antelopes when i was at school......
~Woo-hoo GG. You are now officially an antelope expert!!
trouble is, i probably won't remember the next time it comes up
have you had the beautiful weather in Ireland that we have had for the last few days?
Lol. I know. And after much teeth gnashing and hair pulling, I go 'I KNEW that'!!
Just looking at the weather on TV now. Another fab day predicted for tomorrow. Bring it on!!!
There's a Japanese word in every third grid that i just never see. i get so cross when i've had it clued and then realised what it is.
My son is working in Cornwall, and he says its like the Med down there.
Barbecues are being brought out of sheds and garden chairs dusted down.
It's just on the verge of being too hot for my enjoyment, but it'd be great to be near the sea
Tomorrow, I plan to spend the day on my Frying Pan. The kids have a trampoline out our back garden, and I do a good impersonation of the DaVinci drawing - me spreadeagled on the trampoline, soaking up rays. Cant wait!!
you are clearly a real sun-worshipper
I just love the sun. AND! I can say it is medicinal. i am persecuted with psoriasis, and sun is the only thing that relieves it. So, I have a great excuse.
i love to be outside, but i need a breeze or some shade to really enjoy it.
Goodness, after the winter we have had - I think everybody needs a dose of Vitamin D!
not me soodle the sun makes me break into a rash
You're right, although i think we get overexcited when the sun finally comes and think it's going to last for the rest of the summer, when it'll probably go cold again in a few days, as per usual
it's fashionable to be very pale, jmc
careful guernsey to use sunblock!
well then I am very fashionable! lol
Jmc - I have psoriasis all year round. After some sun, it dies down a bit. I feel almost human.
I know that psoriasis benefits from sun. I have very mild psoriasis but a very bad allergy to sun.
do you know if it does anything for exzema?
I have tried every pharmaceutical remedy for my condition (which is stress-related) and sun is the only help.
GG,not sure about the benefits of sun for exzema. Very different condition from psoriasis.
sun is good eczema too but you have to be careful not to have too much sun or you will graduate to skin lesions
<==very big on natural rememdys
i've got a small patch on my upper arm. the doc gave me hydrocortisone but it's had no effect. perhaps i'd do better to try something natural
JMC, have you found anything that works for your psoriasis?
they think the reason sum is good for these skin things is the vitamin D
thanks for the correct spellign jmc. i knew i'd got it wrong when i typed it but couldn't think what was right
lol spell check was made for people like me!
fireworks finally!
whoo hooo jmb
great news jmb
Woo hoo JMB
must go and do something useful now, such as going to bed. good night all
bye guernsey
Good night GG.

You are welcome any time.
22 left, need to wash the dishes. Be back later. {{Hugs}}
oh Mom dont leave
clue for ap 5 please
ap + gerund ending Boo
monkey with a gerund ending
ty
but but but ... how long until your pizza is ready?
it literally takes 30 seconds for my responses to post - this is not good
20 minutes
no there is a big lag somewhere
I'll work fast.
Mom *begging* please
ok, I'll stay just until the pizza is ready though
so Mom - I hit the 30 day mark today - woohoooooooo
I am sooooo proud of you
thanks, I am too - cant believe I actually did it - was probably more in spite at first - now its most definately for me
I went to lunch today at Olive Garden and had shrimp with pasta.. I was stuffed.. Maybe a snack tonite for dinner
maybe that is why your hubby is so short tempered ... you are accomplishing a very hard habit to break
I love Olive Garden
lucky you Boo
do feel better, don't you Momn
yes it was fun
I could make a meal out of the salad and bread sticks
yes me too
he is not an easy person and you may be right. He is still smoking, at least now hiding it. It does irritate me but I dont say a word anymore. He has done whatever he thought would make me crack and it hasnt worked - so patting myself on back - now I dont care - its totally for me
oh that is just rotten to do something like that
I DO feel better - not huffing going up stairs, no more coughing, bet ya I dont even snore anymore since I havent woken myself up in a long time
hasnt been good Mom - I quit despite it all and am so proud of myself - OK enough of this down stuff - its the weekend and its supposed to be beautiful
I hope you thought it was worth it. Your kids are probably loving it that you have quit
they are so busy in their own things they dont say but they know
stand tall, Momn, **hugs galore**
As I have been reminded, I did this for me and that is absolutely right
they may not say out loud but you can bet they have notices
and as I told my husband - one vice at a time - smoking is probably the hardest
you have to take care of yourself first before you can take care of your kids
next will be exercise - thinking of joining the local curves just for something but talking with another softball Mom and we are going to start walking together
I did well on Curves (that is until I broke a rib) then I couldn't go back for a long time
so tomorrow I have to be at the baseball field at 7:30 am for a double header cheering on my son
that is an excellent idea to have someone to walk with
ouch Mom (hugs)
(be accountable to) :)
K's Kicked! 1 left
thanks for the hug
and tomorrow night is my daughters first prom - yikes
7:30, that is so early
go Min
go get 'em Min
game time is 8am
oh, she will be lovely
beautiful dress - sounds strange but it is orange and hot pink
do you all have after prom where you live?
sounds delightful
oh NO there will be no after prom
I dont think we do anyway Mom
clue for gl 5
we did that at the high school after the prom, those who wanted to came to the school and it was chaperoned by parents and there was games, food, prizes, that kind of stuff and the kids were not allowed to leave until 6:00 a.m.
gl + a breath of fresh ***
we have a town gazebo and all her friends and their dates will be meeting before the prom for pictures - it will be quite group - cant wait
where is the prom being held?
about 20 minutes from here at the grappone conference center which is a Marriot Hotel in Concord, NH
Boo and plural for the 6
very nice place - its where my company does most of their business meetings
she will have a delightful time, I am sure of it
I am sure she will - wish I could be the fly... you know...
I know
Ok Mom, thanks for staying with me - you can go wash dishes and I will check on my pizza - happy friday - maybe see you tomorrow in between events
it's rough
I will be gone most of the day for quilt class in the morning and crochet in the afternoon but I will be on at some point. Hope your son wins both the games.
(((MOM)))
I have enjoyed our chat. {{Hugs}}
Min .... are you still at 1 word or are you saving it?
me too - good night
I am still on my last word. I can't remember what it is
pleasant dreams
oh Min
timer says 5 minutes - what do you need Min
Are BOTH Moms leaving or just one? I'm just curious.
I am leaving to wash the dishes
I will be leaving very soon
Goodbye Mom! I'll see you later in the chat log maybe
I NOW GOT 4 MINUTES
was hanging around to see if you made fireworks Min
pleasant dreams Min
2 minutes - do you need help Min
I will definitely get fireworks Mom,no need to wait. I appreciate your enthusiasm&support though. Thanks
Boo are you still here
yes I am here
clue for ha 4/9
you have been very quiet Boo - timer ready to go off - dont know if I will get back on - if not, have a great night
ha4/9:a kind of poem without the last letter Boobear
yes I have been looking for words and watching the yankees ballgame
nite Mom
ha 4/9 is a kind of Japanese poem without last letter
I am done! I have fireworks! la5/16 was my last word
Goodbye Momneedshelp! I'll see you tomorrow maybe.
i hate this grid
I am taking a break. I will be back later to give clues.
ok mIN
hi all
guess everyone is away or busy....bye for now
Hi Barb
guess she is gone
hi Mom
went to get a sandwich
Hi Boo
what kind did you get
evening babbler friends. How are we?
nope just searching words and letting dogs/cats in and out...being a door man...hi mom and boo
hi red...
Hello Barb
frustrated with our pool and now the gird and you red?
i'm just hanging out
Hi red
yes, I am regretting starting this grid this morning before work. I am really exhausted. Been a while since I felt this tired.
grid is small but challenging - lots of backwards vowels
do you have a long weekend in the states this weekend..we have one here
yes, well, I wish I had avoided it, especially after yesterday.
not this weekend - next though
I dont know Barb, I think we have one coming up for our Memorial day.
red - that is next weekend
I know because I was talking under my breath about recital being on Saturday of a holiday weekend
Yes, the next weekend. I dont really get holidays when others do.
I am starting to think we are not suppose to have a pool this year...got it all filled once only to discover a leak at the bottom and had to drain it...then our new salt water system was being awkward and now it appears our pump for the filter has packed it in...not getting ahead at all
yes the medical field
barbs, a pool is a little painful there is always something to do for it...
clue for hi 4/8
we sold our pool last year - after several years of no sun in the summer in NH - no one wants to go into a pool less than 70 degrees - forget it - too much work for no fun
yes but when it gets hot it really helps me deal with my FM
Boo = take the hi** road
I use the one at the gym, and let them maintain it, but not eveyrone has a gym with a spotless sparkling pool.
If I let him my son would be in there right now in 60 degree water....way to cold
we dont have enough warm weather here in NH to deal with a pool - we tried for 4 years - forget it!!!
even my kids wouldnt go in
well I am still hoping but lately very frustrating
Barb - you are probably colder than we are unless you have an open area to sun all day long =- we dont, very wooded
I am just glad that someone else deals with the pool situation in my life.
it gets very warm here in the afternoon and have it sitting so it is in the sun most of the day...we swam in it last year at only 72 degrees...
I wish someone could deal with all my issues in life - getting tired
sorry
I would go to the local center but most of the time the changing rooms are an absolute mess and so many people you can't swim anyways
we have a very nice lake with town beach 10 minutes from the house - its great for a quick dip after work
Only the pool issue is dealt with in mine, Mom, I am utterly tired today it was pretty horrid.
aw hang in there mom....we all get like that for sure...I tie a knot at the end of my rope and just swing..but after awhile your butt starts to hurt :)
(((hugs))) for mom and red
yes, if you have too many people, the local pool is no good. This is part of a National triathlete trining center, so things are nice there.
thanks friends
and I love that analogy
wow is that the time...geesh dinner will be late today and I am on horse duty morning and night till monday evening
may have to borrow it from time to time
They other lady I share with that usually does evenings is away this weekend
feel free mom
sorry if this is a repeat but need to project good news - I made it 30 days gang
that is awesome Mom...
well I have 34 words only and don't think I will be finishing...hoping the pump just over heated and will start again after a cooling off period...hubby is going to look at it when he gets home. I must run
and always good to hear good news.
30 days to what mom?
thanks even with husband screaming at me and running out for his own smoke - go there!!!!!
I quit smoking Barb after 38 years
stopping smoking...ALRIGHT MOM!!!!! Wish my hubby would quit...
congrats...stay with it you can do it
okay...hubby pulling up and no dinner ready...got to run...back later if I can....Poof.....((((last hugs)))
down to two panic attacks a day - thats great - got some homeopathic stress stuff from my chiro to help with stress - working on it
good good you can do it...(leaves chanting praises for mom )))
unfortunately it my own that is adding to it all - so despite it all, I am doing it - have to keep telling myself but I really am and proud of me
one vice at a time - smoking (gone) exercise(will be starting shortly as breath comes back) weight loss (goes along with exercise) husband (hmmmm)
here I am again stopping the chat - will say good night - enjoy the game before it gets too late
No stopping chat, I think it was just us three. I had to take a break to avail myself of some pepto bismol tablets.
goodnite Mom
goodnight red and boo
well, I am going to break my rue and go to the lis** even before half way, too icky feeling...
did you finish mom
I finished this morning Boo - I get on at 7:30 and try and work through it quickly if possible before diving into work
i started before i went to work, wish I had not.
ai 6/24 pls?
ok
yesterday was an all day event - so goofed off most of the day - boy did I pay for that today
sick with a gerund ending
ai 6 is someone who is feeling poorly, or an elderly Ai**** aunt.
ty red
evening! just got back from a retirement dinner. how's this one?
hard
uh oh!
I personally feel it is ick, but that may be because I am tired. Feather, I am going to have to start pep talking myself like this one little kindergartner, you'll see her on my FB page.
evening all...
off to see red!
haha jessica and her daily affirmation?
hi pini
I think so...
hi weed ;) how goes it?
That was great!
I thought it was a little entertaining, and so unpolished it was very authentic.
clue for la5/16
la + not low, but h***
la5/16:actress Janet Le***, change e to an a Boobear
la+ did you ever get h*** in hi4 school
ty
well, I did have a good moment today I was pulled over going 71 in a 55 and did nto get a ticket.
whoops! nice that you got let off
wow red..you were lucky
ooooh, Mr. Kringle's in the grid ;)
they tend to be very nice to nurses. nd thats the only reason he let me off.
yes saw that Pini
ok, diving in.

ha, cool, three gray already! i can only hope the rest goes like this!

yes the dolphin is here
jinx!
the learning centers
gotta learn how to use those babblets in casual conversation...
the sound like the crying vegatable is here
jeff is about to embark on some unusual conversations...
clue for li 5/10
:p
sorry li 5/12
li = l + wonderful hotels
li + you need to *** that seam before it falls apart
Greetings All. I'm back again.
thx mnh
Does anyone have the KA6 please?
hi everyone!
hi lbd ;)
kinda puny grid after yesterday!
i'm lurking minski - need the companionship
we're here for ya, MNH
don't have it yet, minski
I do but i don't know how to clue that one
you ok mom?
how did yesterday's go? i popped in and ran away quickly!
ka + Mr. Neeson change last letter to single hump
good clue lb
well it was long.
thx lbd ;)
Thanks LBD.
ty dawg
I was proud to finish and then disappointed to find my stats did not change at all. I need to stop watching stats...
i thought it was fun, but it was a biggy
stats? what are those? ;)
MNH I just came in so haven't been following the chat but I hope you feel better and your issues are resolved soon.
<-- didn't finish, but gave it a darn good shot!
hey, I'm in the grid, but don't count :(
i already tried it pini
awww, you're not found in the dictionary pini
i think anyone who got close to half or more did really good with the grid! it was definitly worth 3 grids in one.
BUT you can add "not off" and get a word
went to 247 with it
you're in OUR dictionary, Pini!
ty leslie!
* blush * aw, shucks, lbd ;)
it really did get tedious at the end, glad I was off work.
hanging in with people like you all - thanks
was today your last day of work, red?
Hello everyone.
no tomorrow LBD, today I overate, and dealt with a man who weighed close to 400 pounds, 400 is dangerous not just difficult to find clothing.
hi BUGS!
hi bugs!
hi bugs
400 pounds! yikes!
glad to see that you got out of a ticket red. Made me think of wearing a nurse suit when driving....
HI pini too. You are almost in the grid if you change your last vowel to the first one.
* giggle *
It's a close knit community, Emergency Nurses and the Sherriff office, we interact a bit much for them to make someone mad, but I was really zipping along.
I feel popular (sorta) ;)
so fat man, and infants. and and and.
and monday you get to start a new adventure!
ooooh found and Ir 4, this grid ir** me a little.
I do, more of the same!!!
but for better pay.
Hi lbd. Gotta love Maxine. I was supposed to be preparing a vegetable garden today but I went downtown instead. Found out all kinds of stores I liked closed over a year ago. sigh
well, an adventure nonetheless.
I am looking forward to it, to all of it.
that is quite a face on your icon bugsaw
saved you money, Bugs! now you just buy those veggies all ready grown and plant them in your garden. no one will know the difference!
New people to work with can make a new job more fun too red
I met my new program director today...
it reminds me of the dramatic prairie dog
...I'm not impressed :(
400 pound people are indeed people too and need lots of understanding probably more so than regular sized peoples.
I hope so. Ooooh Pini, that is not good news, maybe the Diretor can improve with age?
uh oh, Pini.
thanks Mom. The icon one day was frowns and this one still cracks me up so I haven't changed it. The kid can give the evil eye at just a few days old
i'm watching this week's biggest loser right now.
wicked
Oooh bugs I looked, that kid is giving the evil eye!!!
not so sure, red...first impression: he's too passive and will get walked on by current faculty :(
dont blow it - I havent watched it yet - recorded it on dvr
maybe over the summer he can go to the gym and grow a spine?
...and the outgoing director and I just got it to the point where some are already talking about asking her back when the new director's term is over
k, won't say anything
maybe he's just a quiet volcano, Pini
will have to wait and see...but so far...still not impressed
brb
I am so bad - love the Biggest Loser - watch it every week and eat ice cream or what ever while watching
I think it is good idea to come in passive and let people know what you've got when it is needed. Don't give up on him yet pini
ag6?
I won't...I'll be keeping my eye on him
guess I am a loser but I also dont have 100 pounds or more to lose
ag6/24 is ag plus na 4/4 word Pinikula and hello there
ag + what you paint on your foot pini
as long as you do not weigh 400 lbs, you are ok in my book MNH.
Hi Min.
danke ;)
Hello Bugsaw! How are you? I see you're still frowning
* sighs with relief * I eat choc chip cookie dough when I watch...
much less than half that but still need to watch it especially now - been bulking up you know
haha pini
only because it still makes me laugh Min. I am in a good mood really
2nd al5? fish?
oh Pini - so glad I am not the only one
* sits next to MNH *
*puts pillow behind Pini's back*
no fish
thx ;)
to put blocks in a row
* hands MNH an "Otis" *
thx mnh :)

stay and watch him play the game Mom. There is nothing better than screaming your head off yelling, GO GO GO and cheering. It is good for the soul
are you kidding me, I am a fence shaker at my kids games
ag + not out, ag***, one who discriminates against older people, ag + hit the **** with a hammer
well start screaming then
my husband wont sit anywhere near me - too embarressed I guess - too bad
his loss
halfway!
about time, feather! lol
I only got embarrassed at the things my husband would yell. Things like REF YOU STINK! or ARE YOU BLIND OUT THERE? I yell encouraging things
lol, distracted by tv
yes it is - I live for their games - soccer for son in fall, volleryball for daugher in fall, ski team, indoor soccer, baseball, softball, track and on and on and on -
50 left, putting on the afterburners
<-- love VB (didn't play, but coach, scorekeep, and ref)
git'r dun, weed!
as long as the kids enjoy your enthusiasm, that's the important thing
track and field, the most basic of sport, Love it, How fast can you go.
Oh, speaking of VB...everyone, please keep your fingers crossed that my dau gets the Head Coach (Varsity) position at the HS near her house!
fingers crossed, Pini! although makes typing a bit awkward
one parent last year at baseball got upset with the ref for a bad call (so what) we tried to talk him down, well didnt work, cops got called - kids got lectured and they had nothing to do with it - I felt bad for the kids for one bad parent
* giggle * thx lbd :)
*x's here*
that's too bad. poor kids have to suffer for some testerone poisoned adult. ;(
that is a terrible story Mom. Bad calls happen but no kid wants to win because their parent went overboard.
I hated how some parents would browbeat the young refs.
(she will be the youngest varsity coach in the area)
Your daughter must be quite an athlete pini
volleyball is much harder than anyone thinks - I was flabbergasted with the rules and formality with the high school sport - I expected kids to just pop the ball around - but NOOOOO
got my ankles crossed cuz my toes would cramp!
ROFL, lbd...too funny
thats awesome Pini - will cheer her on for that top spot
It is interesting, mnh...I'll give it that...but still love doing it (more so when I became a coach and ref); scorekeeping is easier, too :)
played VB in hs. ages ago. yup rules are pretty tough, but so is the game!
wahoo, 29 left, listing
I still dont get all the rules but really enjoy the game - fast, action, diving, jumping, all inclusive sport
clue for the pi 6 please... thanks
it is intense...and great fun to watch...some of the players are absolutely incredible
I just sit on the sit lines and hoot - dont know anything about scoring or anything really
pi 6/21 word is p plus the in 5/10 word redturtlehead
a very high impact sport, hard on all the joints in the body. I always came home needing some part of me to be put on ice.
pi6 = me + not off

good evening, I need a clue for ag6, please?
I can clue for a while, if anyone needs it.
ag + finger ****
like a hang**** on your finger
ag6/24 is ag plus na4/4 word Marc Freeman and hello
Marc - Hello. ag + the growth on the end of your fingers or toes. You may have trim them every so often.
thanks got it
Here is a story of clues from a somebody who ha4/5s from NY.I'm ai 6/24 from complete boredom; finished grid early. In my opi6/21,this grid wasn't bad.Others may have different opi7/32, but I liked this one. This grid didn't make me want to pull my ha4/5. I finished earlier with help from the li 4/4. My monkey was not a pa4/5. I didn't have to threaten him with a pa5/16 The monkey hit the na4/4 right on the head with my last word. But my ranking is still not too hi4/8.If you look at my Babble hi4/5ory,you'll see why my ranking is bad. Yesterday I did not Babble at all because grid was too big. I didn't want to ri4/8 starting and then not finishing grid.It ir4/8 me when I do not get FWs. I hope you got the gi 4/6 of some of my clues. Now I am going to go iron a sk5/18 & watch the Mel Gibson scary movie si4/6s. Goodnight to my fellow babblers.
We're of to a garden party later. It's a 45th wedding anniversary (sapphire) and so we all have to wear something blue.
'Night Min and good story clue.
*OFF
I need an A5 from the bottom A please

Niters lbd
Phantom: nihilist ..
hello babble friends!
Heyas Trifs!
hello tor. I am SO TIRED right now....and maybe, just maybe, I have had a bit too much wine. But primo just called to say he is on his way home, and he had a great time, so I am happy.
Those prom pics are great .. And the clothes you made .. fantastic! They all looked so chic ..
well, maybe not all! don't EVER tell on me....
but thanks for the nice compliment about the dress and the vest.
Well, you weren't dressed for prom so it's all good ..
gawd i loved pac man.....
hmmm. visiting google by any chance there jane?
I actually meant the young lady in the purple, tor. God help us all....
um, i can.... quit..... any..... time.......
I must be having problems with this number combo tonight....any clues for st7/36 and ni7/36?
Well . . yeah ..
I about passed out when I saw that haystack of a creation. I dread to think what they paid....
i must have turned the sound off tho....
I'm sure she stood out ..
she is a very, very nice girl though (as you can see, my paranoid delusions that someone she knows is babbling have taken hold...)
I am too tired to babble, so I am turning in. nice to chat, albeit briefly. see you later, god willing
Niters Trifs .. x ..
hows the grid today
guess it must be capitvating
Lol, it is, challenging....but not impossible, which is good.
I've got 11 left, and I WILL finish, lol
well i have 13 words and have decided i'd rather play pac man or read a book....
Fair enough. I usually have those night, but I feel so close!
I grew up on the peninsula torg.
ya if i had 11 left i would feel differently
what peninsula ruru?
sf peninsula
ah, nice place
i hear the sea lions at pier 39 all moved away
or swam north, rather
I think some of them just came back.
*** they know the bay is polluted
need to make dinner.
bye for now
Yeah .. I've been to this area a few times .. Now is my first actual vacation here, though ..
HI folks. Tor, I grew up where you're visiting.
Cool ..
Gotta move .. bbiab
so, on another topic, what is there to do/see in Dallas?
Hello all. 12:12 AM here. I just got home from a play.
hi scrabs .. have a good time at the play?
<-- is at the lake, fishing season has begun!
It was funny--one-man show entitled "My Mother is Italian, My Father is Jewish, and I'm in Therapy."
change the ethnicity a tiny bit and it could be me! *lol*
I saw a little girl catch a big fish (8 inches long) at the pond today.
My mother IS Italian, and her parents came over from Italy almost 100 yrs ago.
42 to go. Do I want to do a lot of work to finish?
evening all...
Hi Pini
hi scrabs (here to help if you need it)
I have been trying to find my missing A's for 5 minutes.
do you know which one?
ag5, first + third al5...
hi all
Hi BH
