it's a plural grem
well, there's three
I have ce6 and co6
amazing as usual, grem
phant cusecs
jilli: I finished yesterday with no help too - got lucky on the cothurni
knew cothurn because it was in the puzzle a month or two ago
wow, grem! I didn't think anyone could find that one singlehanded!
I must have missed that grid -- never saw the word before -- but sprite had -- she has a friend who has one.
it was a grid where I learned both cothurn and cohune
I definitely missed that one!
some phantoms: epitaph, camphor, amphora, periapt
found it, fireworks
it was a cu6
<-- happy to have found the ph4/11
YAY gremlin!!!
does it start like the cu4, grem?
yep
looks Spanish, maybe
"a ridge formed by gently tilted sedimentary rock strata in a homoclinal structure"
so glad to know that, grem.
thanks grem, got it
from the Spanish clue
I haven't :(

wonderful gadget, jilli
Good morning spritey sprite.
morning FM :)
have you heard anything from Haz yet?
Not yet, should imagine she is having a bit of a sleep in :)
lol can't imagine why!
lol
no horizon today :(
She was saying that she and her walking partner were aiming to do it in about 3 hours
ok that sounds manageable, with a bit of training. I am sure she made it.
good phanton though.
how are you today? And how is your garden?
Im good thanks spritey and have put up another new pic from the garden. The planter was a bargain at the car boot sale - only cost me a £1. Todays flowers are cosmos (the pink ones) and Bacupa (the white ones) :))
FM that is so pretty!
thanks for the gadget comment, sprite, and hi and hi FM too :)
Thank you it is one of my favourite pots. I could sit in the garden all day and just watch things growing.
hi jilli
Hope you are well too sprite and how is Terra?
Good evening jilli.
FM, I have some cosmos and it's only about 3" high! Supposedly not a dwarf variety -- probably as a result of our unsprung spring.
lovely feeling, isn't it FM :) I am fine, knees healing up and feeling positive. Terra is fine too. Sweet, playful, healthy and beautiful.
Hopefully they will beurgon foth before too long jilli
Hopefully they will beurgon foth before too long jilli I think mine are a dwarfish variety - Mum grew some last year that went to 5 foot tall before they started flowering.
oh jilli, a natural bonsai cosmos!
lol sprite
Back in 5, time for more tea.
lol -- but they're blooming away like billy-o!
I'd love a cuppa, FM
no tea for me thanks, I'm heading for bed after I find my last 4 :)
:D Have you seen my gadget?
Oh, I just did, sprite -- I should get one!
they are wonderful and cost close to nothing.
One of my bedtime snacks is apple slices with that Norwegian cheese -- Gjetost (sp?)
hm sounds good, jilli
*passes sprite a mug of tea*
thanks FM, smells heavenly
fireworks
I find I can't eat cheese to often now jilli - gives me really strange dreams. ... and Congrats jilli.
wtg jilli!
had to resort to morewords for some of those th words at the end :(
Nothing wrong with utilising all resources :)
still you beat the grid, jilli
And now I must go to bed -- "early" (for me) start tomorrow. A group of us is going to a Guys and Dolls matinee (and lunch) and we have to catch a ferry.
Sounds like a fun outing jilli - sleep well and see you tomorrow.
I wish you a lovely day, jilli, and a pleasant night
Thanks, you two, and happy babbling (etc!) ---- *poof*
Guess it is just you and I now then sprite and I am going to dive into the grid for a bit.
will see you there then, I am in the middle of it :)
just found the biggie
yay!
and I have the 7 now too :)
good! Nice find, isn't it?
lol it took a while to fa6 it out :)
lol
25 left and slowing down.
I really dislike c words
7 left, only S and T, and since jilli said she needed help for all the th words, and I have only one...
C words in general harbour a load of weirdos
oh I have all the s and t words, so give me a shout if you need a hint.
ok and vice versa for the C
:)
S greyed out, now for the Ts...
knowing they are th helps, lol. Fireflies!
Congrats spritey!!!
any clue needed?
No thanks, am not too far behind you, just a a great run on the ce words.
and the co's
well done! Early congratz then, and have a lovely day.
and you too dear.
Byeee.
Haz, I see you are online - are you looking at the chog? How did it go last night?
FM! You said CHOG!!
Morning Ata!
Guess HAz is not paying attention.
she's probably collapsed on a sofa somewhere!
Helloooooooo!
I've just sent you an e-mail with details!
Ah there she is - good morning!
Good morning! I'm not collapsed at all, I'm sitting upright and taking sustenance.
wonderful!!
It was great, I enjoyed the whole experience.
Grat email Haz, you should post it in your profie!
Now, there's a thought.
*gives Haz a big hug for doing so well and raising so much dosh*!
*takes bow*
you can rest on your laurels for the remainder of the day :)
Well, I'll rest on them for a while, but there'll be shopping to be done later.
remainder of the month!
I hate to love and leave but am just about to head out to do the shopping (some of us have been up since early o'clock). Enjoy the grid it is an interesting one.
Have a good time at the shops, FM, and see you later.
Was hanging around in the hope that I would see you before I poofed, so now I can shop happily. TTFN.
hi all...
Bye FM (I've taken up your suggestion re the profile)
Hello m9.
hi Hax
bye fm dear!
oops
Haz
it's the middle of the night here.
It's okay, I answer to most things.
LOL
how's the grid... I'm up to 23 but it looks like it's going to be wierd after that..
It's going to be another of those tweezer grids. Words get tweezed out one by one.
oh yay.....
But at least there are plurals.
hes!! Huzzah for plurals!
i meant yes!
We're skilled in knowing what you mean, we've got advanced diplomas in reading typos.
Morning all - and well done Haz!
Good morning, Sally -and thank you!
Just read your profile - must have been quite a sight. Did you dress up?
morning all. how many words today please
Well, I wore the pink t-shirt provided, but that was the height of it.
we want photos :)
Good morning, sandra - 114 words.
114 words
oh thats not bad as i already have 61
And did Mr Haz take part?
I'm hoping that there'll be photos posted in the papers and in the charity'swebsite.
wow sandra.. I have 35 and not seeing any more...
Mr Haz ended up having to work last night, but I had company with my friend.
I have 58 - but have been eating scrambled egg on toast at the same time...
He should have worked wearing a pink bra to show his support in spirit :-)
So that's 58 wfi.
That means 58 with food impediment.
Ah! I wondered.
and I still have 5 bts
I'd dread to see the size of bra you'd have to get to fit Mr Haz.
lol Haz
lmao
gotta go for the 4 yo.. it's 1:55 am... what's he doing up?!?!?!/
You'd be visiting the hammock department...
I remember going to a talk given by a pantomime dame, who said he got very odd looks when he went to buy underwear and high heels.
poor mr haz!
I can imagine, Saly.
It was fascinating. He got dressed on stage and showed us (almost!) everything.
Some things are best left either to the imagination or not thought about at all.
No, I love to see how things are done. Have recently got drawn into Dr Who via iPlayer (no TV), and have particularly liked to see the programmes about how they do some of the special effects. Same with make-up and costume, lighting, etc. I find that far more interesting than the performance!
Oh, you'll be able to chat with FM and lynxxx, they're greatly into Dr Who.
Well I've only just started watching some, so I'm not quite at that stage.
I don't hide behind the settee any more :-)
Well, that's progress!
Hello, did I hear my name?
(Phone)
You are awake Haz! hw did you go?
hi Sally
And back. It went really well, lynxxx, thanks.
you always forget that I like Dr Who!!
Hi lynxxx. Been staring at the top right O and deciding that there couldn't possibly be two words from there, then slapped myself with a fish!
I've put a little bit in my profile. And yes, Ata likes Dr Who as well!
I haven't seen any previous recent series, Ata, so no undue influences, but I do think the current one is a good actor.
he's great
It does sound like it was fun Haz, can't wait for the photos
At one point we had photos being taken of a police motorcyclist arm in arm with the rugby boys - also women getting photos taken aboard police motorcycles. It's probably not in any police manuals..
and only a year to wait for the new Torchwood Ata!
you should try and get the David Tennant series. He was wonderful
I knoooow! Yay!
That's only 365 grids, the time will fly.
rofl Haz
yay for Capt Jack!
omg husband just asked me why I have a pic of Capt Jack as my background on my laptop and not a photo of him. ROFL
lol
You could always use that picture of the shorn head for comic relief.
back in a mo
I don't have it on this laptop :(
good morning! Everybody is still alive and the pondnets look beautiful! Nobody said thank you, but what can I expect?
Good morning, ruby.
morning ruby!
Back. Oh, the pondnets look good as well? Hope they do what they are intended for ruby!
hi Ruby. How clever of you - I'll say that instead for you
and clever Sally, for knowing about them
Back from my quick trip to the shops.
thank you everybody! How was the walkj, haz? Did you get to ride on a motorcycle with a hunky policeman?
and what would we have done without dear Sally?
hi FM
Hello again, FM.
hi FM
Hi lynxx and ruby and all :)
Back in time to blush
The walk went well, ruby, I'm too well-behaved to do such things.
hi guys
hi Sandy
for the money he has spent on this fishpond, which was perfect in the first place, we could have bought a new car!
Hello, sandy.
Oh good you did post that email in yr bio Haz - excellent!
and not a small one, either!
hello sandy
A bit like my eggs then ruby. We have spent so much on enclosures, electric netting and so on that my husband talks about "yet another £300 egg" :-)
Everyone - do read Haz's bio - great account of the walk :)
Yes, it was a good idea of yours, FM!
this looks like a hard grid but I'll give it my best shot
that's like my tomato plants, but too bad!
Actually I'm really enjoying this one ruby
Not only am I your PA Haz I seem to be your PR agent too *grin*
so far, I haven't gotten a single word from the first column! lol
We'll need to negotiate terms!
isn't 10% standard?
Four of the words have the same construction, body of water round a castle, and smelly animal.
morning everyone, back with lovely lime green nails
those were 4 of my 13, hahah
LOL for friends it is free.
ooh, pretty!
Morning Katie.
Good morning, Katie.
But you said you hadn't got any from the first column!
I got them the second after I said that because I got oa**!
hi Katie
OK, I'll forgive you then :-) - and hallo Katie
awww there's the word I use to describe my little cat. pr4/6
paws neatly together?
Haz I am presuming the 7 rugby player were male? or am I being sexist?
Going to take a quick break, back shortly....
Dear litte Sily, oh is Hobbit back to normal now btw Ata?
paws very neatly together :)
keeping Hobbit away from tide pools?
yes, she is, finally!!!
good, until next time! :)
yes LOL. Husband has just gone off to the woods with her
*thinks we had better keep Ata dn Hobbit away from tide pools*
did he remember ata?
I hope you put a bear-friendly sandwich in his back pocket!
he's got till tomorrow, Katie :P
lol ruby
how cute go4.6 and mo6.24 in same grid
still in shock about hobbit being a girl, I always thought she was a boy!
LMAO!!!
hmmm, mo6 "Get to work, monkeys"
How could you Katie?? She is such a lovely lady!!!!!!!!!!
fly my pretties fly
lady? maybe tomboy
I know I think the world order has been changed
Tomboy definitely :) I shall start calling her Hobbitella as I do at home :P
oh Hobbit is such a cutie - but then I am biased having been able to meet her on several occasions.
do you think we all have pet names for our pets?
she has a new disciple, one of my friends was totally won over by her the other day. Hobbit flopped on her back, half onto Rachel's lap and just gazed up at her with her big brown eyes. and wiggled a lot
I do
I would think so ruby.
oh yes Rhubarb = ruby judy, Custard = casty dasty, Crumble = Dumbledor
LOL Katie
so cute, katie
It is the eyes that does it - you melt away.
I would love to meet Spangle.
Hobbit is anything from Hobbitella to Hollyhock to Schnooster
sydney = snider scrimmy = scrimbles
Poopy Boy = Max; Poppy Girl, Rubyfoo, Rubyfooey, Sweetie Pie = Ruby
the rooster who makes unwanted love to the chooks == roger
LOL!
hello roger!!! lol
Sily is generally Clawsetta
We often call Sparky the cat, Sparkles. She is a little sparkler in character.
I love that everybody does it! I thought it was a little nuts on my part
Mums cat (a burmese) was called Minta so that got changed to Mintymoo on occasions of deep purring :)
Three of our chooks ran away because of Roger
not at all ruby. Fuggles was sexy boy, I think he thought it was his name in the end
Hobbit and SIly are sometimes Sausage and Chipolata
do you think they know the difference or is it just the voice?
Twas ever thus in life, sandy.
raof
bruce chases me but I dont run
that is too funny, sandy!
I think it is the timbre of the voice ruby
if DH chased me, I'd put my foot out!
LOL
does it drag on the ground?
or the pa** of the chase
I wouldn't be able to run but hey who's complaining lol
I actually have 37 words! I can't believe it and laughing all the time!
Babbling is good for the soul :)
I know what you mean, looked up and I was half way through
and its nice with a glass of wine too
10.47 here, even for me that is a bit early
There are some days when I just chat and don't do the grid. Cheers sandy!
5.48pm here - perfect wine o'clock
Just monkeyed the mo 4/10 and looked up the definition. I want one of those!
We could have a Bucks Fizz Katie?
it's an hour later, but feels to early for me although DH is lurking around upstairs, waiting for his!
i monkeyed that earlier must look and see what it means
wine o'clock it is, then!
Ruby, I really have to ask this. Why doesn't he fix his own drink?
US was cheated by the officiating last night :(
Oh yes perfect time for buck fizz
this is a tainted World Cup for me
LOL reminds me of Mitch
because I have to sit with him while he drinks it, or he sulks (even more than the usual)
:) *clinks glasses with Katie*
what's in a buck fizz?
we just built our new wine rack and have over 50 bottles of wine in the house so at least we wont go short lol
lol why on earth! can't he drink on his own!
Champagne and orange juice.
Yammas FM
when a disaster happens, it's important to stock up on the staples, katie, wine, gin, etc!
No - you don't /have/ to sit with him if you don't want to. Your choice, remember. Come on, everyone, let's empower ruby here.
katie, I have tried collecting wine but it doesn't work
Oh party at Katies yay!
back in a bit, need to negotiate lunch
we got the good stuff at the bottom working up to the cheaper stuff at the top
keeping the peace for a couple of hours would be a nice change!
lol sandy -does it disappear myteriously?
you guys are so naughty - Australian women are at our men's beck and call
he thinks that by taking me out for lunch, everything becomes OK!
it does mitch
i'd be knackered if I had to pour every drink hubby had lol
that would be like our stockpiling gin! I think the dogs drink it; they must have figured out a way to open the bottles!
we are quite good at keeping the good stuff, but the cheap stuff does seem to evaporate very quickly
I think Haz must have gone for a nap!
we also have 3 types of gin, 3 types of vodka, all the makings for cocktails etc
deserves one!
two massive shelves of spirits
no difference here - it all disappears at the same rate
when is the party?
butter wouldn't melt in your mouth Sandy
party at katie's!
3 types?
for sure :) although I think she might have gone food shopping.
we move the good stuff into the garage at parties lol
speaking of the murder by butter....lol
I'm in a good mood today, so the heck with DH! He couldn't spoil it if he tried!
bombay saphire, tanquary (not spelt right) and gordons for gin
Impressed.
vodka is smirnoff blue, smirnoff red and absolute
I feel a European party fest coming on - we can start at Katies and then move on and end up at rubys.
bombay saphire + noilly prat dry vermouth and an olive -- heaven (and not much vermouth!!)
we have white rum, golden rum and darm rum
smirnoff red with evian and a tuscan pepper, a "Nessie"
good lord we might not make it past Katies emprium!
is that darm or darn or demon!
we were drinking archers topped up with champange the other day I think it is called belini or something like that
*emporium even!
bellii
Have a feeling Katie is not so very far from me. Looks at watch to see how soon I could be there.
bellini!!
the best rum for me comes from the DR but you can't get it here; the worst comes from the French islands!
you could probably use it for biofuel!
the funny thing is we rarely drink spirits but like to have everything in just in case!
lol sally
I used to keep a bottle of it in my office and the Dominican girls would come in at five with paper cups and coke! Those were the days
I had 5 bottles of baileys at one point but Mari has helped and I think I am down to two now
that is important katie
I'm packing a hamper and heading up to Katies :)
and if somebody gets a cut!
mmmmm baileys
I don't dare buy Baileys because I would drink it all, same goes for Kahlua!
you are not allowed to bring back the really strong dominican rum any more, it is not allowed on planes as it is considered explosive
5 bottles of Baileys wouldn't last long in this house.
Oh I have kahlua as well
but delicious!
Kahlua and English cream, OMG!
Kahlua! Have you ever made a Black Russian? Kahlua, vodka and lots of ice.
*starting to realise drinks stock is not normal*
that's why we have it in sally
You could open a pub or wine bar katie.
Hello everybody. I feel a bit drunk just reading the chog......
drink stocking very normal
If you just give me your postcode, I'll get the satnav out...
hi Soodle
just doesn't work for us- must be visitors
I have to keep Mr Mari and Mari under tight control lol
Morning Soodle.
is that a new puppy Soodle?
Sure is Lynn. Meet Buster.
he is a cutie - Border Collie?
buster is lovely
Phone, brb
he is pretty
He is a jumble of allsorts. We got him from the rescue centre last Sunday. Theres a lot of spaniel in him....well in his ears anyway....
I'm off for breakfast, see you all later :-)
Bye for now Katie.
bye Katie
well, surprise, surprise, he made his own drink and didn't offer me one. So I made him a sandwich and put it outside!
Attagirl ruby
Buster is adorablea,d your mail was wonderful, soodle!
More pics of Buster to follow,,,,
ruby, i'm coming out of lurk mode for this milestone event!
I can exist, thank you, without his scintillating conversation (read, speeches)
good one ruby and the lunch was positive reinforcement
hi, jayk!
(we are watching Ceasar)
he can eat it or feed it to the crows!
He actually made his own drink?
and I don't have to go to one of these bad restaurants as I'm not hungry anyway
I even attempted to have him decided on a resto, but he was uncommunicative!
Perhaps he made his own drink because it's starting to taste funny when ruby makes it
I think I'll go out and fight the battle of the weeds!
see I would have made my own sandwich
it's the ground up Xanax! lol
Sally, I think you're on to something
Fireworks - so I will be off, and thanks for all the laughs.
Any clues needed?
bye sally and well done
fireworks, sally, you are not only wicked and funny, but very smart!
maybe the 7?
congrats sally see you tomorrow
Congrats Sally!
Wicket? Moi? Innocent look.
The 7 is a plural of the fa 6/33 - but you will have to fa**** it out for yourself.
ty sally
OK, for them, thank you!!!!
**gone**
great clue
Night all, going to save my rest for the morning
nite lynx
sweet dreams, lynxx
night lynxxx see you later
just fought a big skirmish in the battle of the weeds -- filled up a very large ack!
sack*
anybody here?
I am here, lurking.
I've hired a young school girl to tackle my weeds weekly since I'll be gone the rest of the summer.
She's doing a good job. My one from the last three years grew up and is too busy now. But the junior high ones love the income.
great idea! here, it's an endless task and men can't seem to distinguish between weeds and good plants... :(
where are you going for the summer?
I hear you. That sounds like my hubby.
China.
wow!
When I get back in August we are vacationing in Washington due to a wedding there. We've yet to see Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks.
what a great plan!!!
yay, half!
I only have 34 words, but it doesn't seem as discouraging a grid as earlier this week.
at least not yet
this grid looked impossible at first, but there are quite a few "builders", most with oa in them
I have found a few of those.
morning all
Morning, Dan.
I don't mind a challenge when the words are at least recognizable. It's when over and over again I've never even heard of them that it's tough to enjoy.
nbt
how to play
just got a dumb babblet: oh4/5
like the state, but diff ending
Right after you mentioned the 'oa', I hit the co words and all but one used your pattern.
but sally mentioned an mo6 having to do with go** and I couldn't figure it out!
But the cu 6, for example, never heard of it before.
?? don't have it, smarty merk!
hint for it?
It builds on the cu 4 ... add a consonant and a vowel.
Same ending as a spanish nap or sp. party.
thank you, my monkey almost died, trying out all the possibilities! Did you get the nice fa's?
6 and 7?
not quite there yet ... am on the e words
I can help, if you didn't
when you're ready, just say so
You can clue the 6,7 for me please.
fa + ****mccan shoes
and plural
poor clue, sorry
or measurement of ocean depth
I think I am missing a letter in it somewhere.
or understand something

I don't come up with six letters with the fa +
fa + al***ugh + cons
I can't fa6 why you can't get the clue :-)
not thin + prefix for man
I must have had the wrong shoes. LOL
ty
hahah
Your other clues were great.
I was thinking of Indian mocs.
thank you
uh oh, pb for merk! lol
but I had it already
Well, I need coffee. I'm trying to finish this before my grandson awakens, but I am hungry.
join me for a coffee
Oops, I didn't realize I used a word, but thanks for pointing it out. I've typed it in now.
Off to brew the java.
favorite word: ta5/12, long snouted animal
pls heat the milk!
but I still have 42 left and no chance of finishing
Heat the milk? You use milk? Straight black for me, strong, using my French press.
I make double expressos then add the same abount of hot milk -- get the caffeine zap, but it doesn't make me feel sick!
I have too many dairy products; the French adults don't use any except cheese
and even the children don't drink much milk = poor teeth
and they make fun of "American teeth"
Who makes the Bodum French press. I thought it sounded Dutch.
I use a nespresso machine; it is really easy and always perfect!
they practically give away your second machine because it's really just a vehicle for selling the coffee capsules
My daughter uses a Kerig ... misspelled
I love the coffee, but it's not hot enough to suit me.
any help wanted from my paltry 72 words?
I wrap a towel around my bodum and that keeps it hot between cups.
that's what my husband hused, before we married, but I didn't find it strong or hot enough with milk in it
I'm off to do the Sat crossword puzzle and a couple of Sat sudokos! Yay
bye Merk and Dan (if you're still here)
I missed the goodbye, Ruby. My phone rang and off I went.
Now the coffee has brewed and breakfast is int he making so I am off, too. bbl
Good morning everyone.

Sad, Doren. The poor economy is slamming so many people.

i do have one thing to sweeten the day on Wednesday. Phoebe is beeing dropped of Tuesday night for a four day visit !! (her first alone here), and she will be with me in school on Wednesday
What fun!
I am exercising. and doing some socializing. e

cancer rates in this country are horrifying
no, funny thing. it just came up out of nowhere!
We eat too much fat, esp meat, esp grilled meat.
You are darn lucky, lb!! Stage 1?
it was a very small tumor and they took out part of the colon with it. got it all.
yes very lucky and yes stage 1
So fortunate!!

Me too!! A success story!

Mom, I am still here. I was thinking of your Mom..how is she?
Annie, aren't you sweet. She had her appt. on Thurs. and she has 2 fractures T5 is completely compressed and the T12 is fractured. They want to do that cement injection so she is considering that
they want to start with the T5 and she how she does with that one and go from there.
Mom, it is something to consider. I hope she does well with it. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers for a successful outcome.
thank you so much Annie. She is thinking anything has to be better than being in pain and popping pills
I was looking for you yesterday to fill you in but I guess we were on at different times
Yes, I think we were. Have a great day. Bye.
you as well, bye bye
Hello again. Bye Annie (my timing is bad!)

It was fun, Mom, some of the costumes were very inventive.
*click*
there were costumes?
morning haz:)) did the cancer walk??
I'm slightly stiff, but otherwise fine. Funnily enough, my feet are grand, it's my back that's slightly achy. Old age.
guess where I took that pic?
maybe Mr. Haz will put some Bengay on your back and give it a rub
TO, we were all encouraged to wear pink - we had tutus, angel wings, pink ducks - you name it.
did you wear your pink cahsmere twin set and pearls?;)
then you don't have plantar faciitis!
love the icon TO
No, the cashmere has been put into cold storage and the pearls didn't really go with my pink t-shirt.
:D
pearls go with everthing!LOL
i have to go - i am stalling, going to drive up to no jersey
I bet Haz wore her tiara though :)

See you tomorrow, TO.

tc mom
bye bye FMitch and Haz
I love the new picture of the baby, dan, she looks victorious about something.
bye bye Crossy
Sh must have been watching the world cup (not) :(
Managing to sleep at night?
we have been watching world cup together :-)
She'll not have had much opportunity to raise her arms in victory for England! I hear last night's game was awful.
she's been a pretty good sleeper up until last night. We have a well-defined bedtime ritual where she goes to sleep around 10pm, and usually sleeps 4 hours or so before nursing
then if we're lucky, another 4 or even 5. We were not lucky last night though
shhhh lets not talk about that but keep our fingers crossed for the next match. *le sigh*
It's always nice to get some structure emerging after the initial weeks of bewilderment, but there are always times when it just doesn't work to plan.
true. And its the weekend, so I'm able to help mom get some extra naps in today
It'll all be fine eventually, but that's no comfort when you have a baby and no individual manual or light-up buttons to tell you what's going on and why the plans aren't being adhered to.
*nods head in agreement* not that I know the first think about babies or children :)
it would be a blessing if she could just say a few words: "wet" "hungry" "sleepy" "ouch" &c
That's what the light up buttons would be for, if the scientists could only stop working on i-pads and do something useful instead.
you will soon get used to her version of those words and will learn what she need dan.
they don't get too upset if they're worn.
helloooo :)
have you read or watched any of the "happiest baby on the block" stuff??
Hello Ata!
Afternoon Ata!!!

hi NB.. How are you (I've been gone for a week; work was too busy for me to get here)
I need cu6/24 and st 6/21 please
Hi NB, how goes it with you, have you moved?
Hi, Nef! I'm well, thank you :) all moved out now and having a housewarming this evening!! how have you been, Nef?
cu 6/24 is cu 4/6 plus half of british goodbye shorty.
st 6/21: You can get office supplies at St**l** shorty.
Hi, FM :) yes, just about - had to leave a few bits behind, but not sure if I'll bother going back for them. So, I'm very well, on that basis - and yourself?
nice clues minver
ty Min fireworks
Thanks
Wow!!! BIG changes in a week!
Doing fine thans -lovnig the warm weather.
Congratulations shorty on your fireworks!Good for U
Congrats shorty!
I've been in survival mode, NB; my work partner has been on vacation and I had to run 2 clinics alone
Oh yes FM - perfect weather for dragging one's life possessions through the streets of London ;) and Nef, I know!! It feels a bit like a dream
two clinics alone?? that sounds completely exhausting, Nef :(
ty ty ty every1
YAY, shorty!!! WTG!!!
where have you moved to, NB?
shorty - I miss Faerie too
hi shorty!
wondreful clues MIN
fa 6/7?
and hellow to all
Yes i miss her alot i did talk to har on facebook the other day
fa 6/33: Some of the words I couldn't begin to fa****.
ocean depth measurement, bichon
her*
ty Min
That fa7/48 word is plural of the fa 6/33 word bichon
if you speak to her again do send her my love.
yw
why isn't faerie playing anymore?
mine too
she takes care of her mom and work
people stop playing? an outrage ;)
and i guess she just doesnt have time
oh that is sad that she doesn't have time for herself!
I will FMitch
Oh my - I have got to share!!!! Just spotted a bird in the garden - pure white feathers with an orange reddish beak about the size of a sparrow! No idea what it is but wow
i know she needs some time 2 herself
mo 6?
very soft yarn made from rabbit fur
mo + what grows from your head.
ty nan
popping in and out from other things -- need to put the last coat of glaze on the maple leaves I have painted on our luggage
ooo wow FM!
That mo 6/24 word is mo plus the ha 4/5 word bichon
mo6 comes from go4 not rabbits.
Got it, ty
I know Ata - am gob smacked!
wish I had the camera to hand but it was gone in a flash.
tell us when you find out what it is!
I will if I can find out.
mo6 comes from both go6 and rabbits, depending on what it is. the yarn seems to come from go6 and the 'wool' from rabbits.
and am going to go and lurk in the garden for a few mins just in case ... back shortly.
er go4 not go6.. oh well.
anyone want clues before I leave?
Oh and Ata - can't wait for Dr Who this evening :)
it's part 1 of a 2 parter.
nor me!!
bye everyone :)
Happy Saturday all!
I had to not play for this past week, NB; I worked 49 hours and for someone who's used to working about half of that (supposed to be 20 hours, but usually it's 26); it was too much
Sorry, a neighbor came to the door and I got interrupted
bye, nan!
hello again....don't suppose any of you know where I mislaid the pin cushion?????
hi m9! Congrats on becoming *real*!
today is the last day for me to finish this sewing project.....
(that I've been avoiding by playing babble)
hi SG. happy Saturday to you too!
thank you. I like your purple hair..
everyone pray that I get this sewing done.. ok?? (I'm just taking a quick eek-i-can't-find-the-pins break)
well, except for the color, that's what my ha** looks like
what's the project?
I don't usually use pins.. except for I'm at the sleeves...
I'm making 4 disco tops and 4 skirts
but they're costumes.. no zippers (thankfully!)
and 4 vests.. but again.. they're costume vests..
and you left it til the last moment?
I have one top and skirt done (except hemming.. they said we didn't have to hem..but now we do.. apparently they unravel after all)
(sometimes that's my game plan!
and... your point Nef??
I did some of it earlier.. but the last few days I've just felt very blah.. and every time I approach this project I have to RECLEAR my area.. including making folks on laptops move....
LOL! Sometimes that's the best way to be creative!
I have until 7 this evening... ;-)
well.. guess I just have to forge on pinless.... pfpft!
use clothes pins if necessary
clothespins... that's funny!
I am heading in to grab the dd's needle case! I'll use needles..
none of those either? How about barretts or ha**pins?
needles will work. (she's probably got the pincushion
it's her pincushion.. but I don't think she took it on her trip to see her fiance
Here is a story of clues for anybody who us 4/4 it to help them finish.I took an oa4/5 to finish grid today. Hubby has given me some sp5/14 and is gone for the day. We had a sp4/5 earlier. We argued over who us 4/4 the co4/7uter too much. It was a pretty stupid argument and now I do not give one io4/4 about the argument. Anyway,I wanted to pa4/6 myself and not finish the grid too early. But I fa4/8ed grid early and finished early.I thought it was a fa4/7 grid today. It didn't make me want to pull my ha 4/5 out. But some of the words I could not fa 6/33. Pr 5/12 to finishing the grid, monkeys were pe4/5s and acted like im4/6 today.I believe they had too much to drink and their brains were im6/24ed. I think that they also wanted to run up the st6/18 & esc5/14 from me. I have one monkey that esca6/24 from me everyday. Can't keep track of all of them. I wanted to ta4/5 their mouths shut today, but then they wouldn't be able to help me When I can't deal with them I tell them to sc 4/5 and stay away.I om4/5ed a lot of words in my story. Can never include ALL the words.Ha4/5 off to those who finished. Now I am off to buy a pa4/5 of pants. Then I'm going to return & take ph 4/6os of my flowers on my pa5/12.I'll be back later tonite to help with clues.
it's really wierd.. I only have the 4 yo here today!!!! (luckily he's asleep.. so I can sew!)
I am missing the st 6! Help min!

hmm... th, **ange juice,
science think Jim Th*** the native american guy from the carlisle indian school.
This year we thought we had it worked out.
got the th 6
yay!!
now, just need the last th 5
I thought they were clear!! LOL
starts the same
got it!
ends in *eter *eter *um*kin eater!
now, 1 left and it is the lone o.....looking
Whoo HOO!!!!! Go geek!
done! woot
OK! off to do other half of sleeve...
We planned on going to a museum that has a Jim Henson and the muppets exhibit and then out to lunch with Jon's side of the family. Then dinner in the North End "Little Italy" for those of you who don't know Boston with my side of the family at 6pm to accomodate my sister who isn't due back from New Jersey until aobut 4 tomorrow.
okay, now I need to clean the garage in this horrible heat!
all the stuff from school is piled up
However, I forgto to include my brother in law into the equasion. He works the morning shift at alocal news station and getsoff work at 2pm sunday. Which is fine but we planned on being home by about then or a bit after so the baby can have a nap before dinner.
So now the inlaws have cancelled altogether on Jon and I. They will take brother in law out for an early dinner and then we will do a family thing some other time.
well that's poopy!!!
(finished that sleeve)
This is all somehow turned out to be my fault and I am getting all the blame for it.
and THAT'S double poopy!
So I ruined Father's Day for 1/2 the family and Jon will be in a pissy mood all day.
take a deep breat Min...and remember this is THEIR problem. not yours
I'm so pissed off I could scream.
M9, what an awesome picture!
it makes more sense to still go with your plan and they can do something with odd shift boy at another time.
thanks NB!!!
I'm taking your pic!!LOL
I wanted to say fine. Good. We can have a quiet day jsut the 4 of us doing what we wnat to do. But now inlaws aare mad at me and Jon is already in a pissy mood. ARGH!!! I QUIT! Plan your own freaking holidays from now on. I'm done!!!!
I took that in the mirror on the visor while in the car waiting for Tim to do something... pay the car insurance I think...
Minski, I would guess that they needed an excuse to not do it and it's all your fault! (NOT!) YOU can't make others mad, they are incontrol of their own emotions!
are you breathing Min???
Are you knowing that you didn't do anything wrong?
Your honey better NOT be pissy. He better reassure you that you did nothing wrong!
So I see, M9 ;) best not be taking my picture though, I haven't even put my face on yet! :P
I don't have a face on in that pic. So you just better tough it up and smile!
Yep. Still here. I'm hoping to convince hubby to do what we planned without his parents. We can make up a picnic lunch and eat outside somewhere in the town where the museum is (it's a beautiful town). Then go home and still meet my family for dinner in the city. We'll see.
Thanks for listening all. I needed to get that off my chest.
(off to do second sleeve) sounds like a good plan Min
HMMMM..............maybe I will babble a bit after all. There are some words jumping out of hte grid at me.
LOL, Min! words jumping out of grid at you and friends giving support. What else could you ask for? :-)
sleeve done
wtg, m9!
where's NB? off putting on the guyscara??
1 down, 7 to go?
hello...
I've already done 2 other sleeves. So I only have 4 sleeves to go.
hi Jellen! How are you? How's Tim?
I have one whole set to still cut out..
Hi Jellen. your mate is a Tim too??
then it's a piece of cake, m9! You should be done in.... 20 minutes, right? ;-)
Tim's got a sore back...unknown reason...I'm okay...
Yes, my fiance is Tim...
((((Jellen and Tim))))
Off to do the sides.. I cheat.. set in the sleeves before doing sides.. then do sleeve and sides at once.
Ohh your fiance! cool!
I've been with my Tim for 27 years now
m9, from what you said you only need 7 sleeves? Sounds a bit off to me
Are you making a shirt for an octupus, m9?
i just did two while chatting. had two done. 4 to go
I have to take off also for now. Must go to garden store. Must buy plants to put in pots on front steps before summer is over. will be back later. 80 words left to find.
take care, Min
oh looky m9 is a pro!
Hi/bye Min
Hi, jmc!
hi jmc
congratulations m9!
I need to take a shower; I haven't dressed for the day yet and suddenly I realized I stink! Time to get ready for the day! (It's after noon now) BBS
*imagining m9 with 7 arms*
Later, Nef
*wondering if m9 is a spider who lost a leg*
bye nef
How is the grid, btw?
guess what?? if you serger into an inside corner.. the cutter cuts into the part that's part of the project!!!
yikes!
Good thing these are costumes that will be looked at from seats in a stadium!!LOL.
oh well you should have seen the patch work on some of the costumes i made
I've never made a costume...
I couldn't make Tevia's night shirt fit the football player who was playing him in my son's jr high play
I kept having to insert to make it bigger and bigger
The biggest thing I've sewn is a flat tote bad with draw string (in Girl Scouts)...
lol well we can't all do everything!
bad?? freudian slip eh?
I can
LOL, um bag...it was lovely! Honest!
I'm just not used to serger. this is my fist project using one... got it off craig's list a few years ago and just decided I better figure it out..
what freudian slip?
Ok. I did one side.. now the other
I have looked at sergers and never felt they did anything i wanted
shirts for octopi? this is the strangest chog yet!
and what's a serger?
but an octopi missing an arm
yum
Poor octupus, missing an arm...
it is a sewing machine that makes those seams on your store bought clothes that looks like a slinky
why are we knitting a sweater for an octopus??
served DH octopus salad as his appetizer!
Tim's in the grid!
the serger is really paying for itself with this project!!!
maybe it was the missing arm
ruby did you eat the octopus arm?
hi crossy
when you eat it, it's calamari!
howdy ruby
part of it, but it was a small one....
hi crossy
Hi, crossy
serger: sews AND edges at same time.
no no, calamari is a different beast!
howdy jellen;))
calamari is squid
depends. calamari is used for various beasties I've found
mmmm squid rings all battered and crispy with lemon and pepper...mmmm
I ordered squid at this Japanese restaurant once. Thought I'd get little tender bits with veggies or something...
in France it's calmar (squid), seiche (cuttlefish) and pleuvre (octopus)
they brought out the plate.. one big ol' octopus. the rings were about 4.5 inches. and the tentacles were whole kind of draped artistically over it all. nothing else, but some ginger sauce.
the only squid I don't like is in sushi where it's a little like eating ivory soap
it was VERY chewy!LOL
you know the octopus is done right is a sucker can stick to the roof of your mough for just a second before it slides on down;)
mmm crossy!
the local Italian (a Sicilian) grills cuttlefish and it's wonderful!
I'm glad to be doing a project. I've got to get back into sewing mode.. been a long time.. and Aiden wants me to make her dress.
we get them ranging from about the size of a hand to tiny
best squid I've eer had was on Peuget Sound cooked on the boat. and sea cucumber...
if it was chewy it was over cooked
or just an old fogey!
yeah. prolly overcooked.. like scallops get.
I draw the line at sea cucumber: it's among the 2 or 3 things in the whole world that I won't eat!
next to jellyfish! eeew
it's GOOD!
not too fond of sea cucumber
they have this concoction that made from fermented whale milk that is right up there on the list lol
yuck
I will try pretty much anything once
how about seal blubber, up there in Canada?
sorry fresh out of seals
told the wife we were down to 3 seals, and i like mine over easy in the morning
I feel the same way, jmc, but once I was serve jellyfish in a dim sum place in LA and it looked suspicious but nobody spoke English. I finally made a drawing for the manager (!!) and he offered me more
although I don't have an aversion to it, the idea of killing whales is appaling and I would never eat it
i think only japan and norway still conduct that sort of thing thank god
i assume you don't kill the whale to get milk
I'd like to try the fermented horse milk they drink in Mongolia some time.
they mix it with butter fat m9
"for scientific purpose" (Japan) but you can evidently buy it in supermarkets
and how, exactly, do you milk a whale??
carefully
with a stool and a big pail lol
ok.. that top is done except for hemming sleeves and bottom (i use sewing machine for that)
very carefully
I think it's easier if you're a baby whale.
Is anyone else finding this grid rather difficult, or is it my brain?
everybody now! Baby beluga in the deep blue sea.....
but baby whales don't make milk
down to 40 words left but I think I'm done
I'm done with grid.
i only have 41 words jell
I did use list
clue for the Z please
I got 74 without a list, but there are a lot of words with oa and they relate to each other
rhymes with sushi seaweed!!!
;-)
ty
yw
or memento m***
Got my first 6!
wtg jell
don't know that memento thing
Go Jell!
okay taking a break
maybe some lunch
ok. next top... setting sleeves again..
mmm does not take the ladies short pants;(
see you tomorrow, jmc!
what?!?!?
crossy?
capri
ah!!
thought you were sad about missing a panty raid or something!LOL
wife will not let me attend panty raids;(
back again; and I feel HUMAN now! :-)
ah.. stick in the mud!LOL
wb nef
crossy, I think the word you want is capris (I don't think it's a singular, is it?)
according to babble I'm a human from planet earth!
ah that may explain it then
good thing m9,or your isp roaming fees would be nasty lol
I thought you put that in as your profile, m9. Didn't you?
38 left and good night everybody!
gn ruby
bye, ruby
jeen, have the test results come back yet?
jellen
niters, ruby
bye jellen, gn crossy, bye lovely-smelling nef!
Yes, it is melanoma, crossy
crossy sniffs nefs neck....
crossy! That tickles!
mmm, well that is very treatable when caught early jellen,on of my three actually
i had melenoma as my last cancer, and they fixed me up nice and quick;))
Jellen, how are YOU doing?
yes im finding this grid difficult as well
I'm okay...stressed...
all my very best wishes, Jellen!!!
I'm a 20-year carcinoma survivor!
where is the location of his melenoma?
His liver
im a five year seminoma, lymphnom and melinoma survivor.....booyaaa!!
my best withes for tim and a spedy treatment and recovery
we babblers are tough!!!!
wtg, crossy. How did *that* happen that you got all 3?
tough as nails...darn cancer dont dare come roun here no mo! lol
juck of the draw nef
lucky i guess
you ARE lucky, crossy.
got my first cancer 2 years after i quit smoking...who knows? lol
Jellen, was Tim's stage 4?
nbt, finally!
what stage did they assign to his melanona jellen?
Think so...
Haven't talked to a doctor yet...we go Wednesday...
crossy I just looked at your profile (again) and the songs you list are all on my "faves" list!
well, even with stage 4,it is highly resonsive to the treatments they have now jellen
lol ruby
*poof*
I'll keep you both in my prayers, Jellen and will send healing thoughts for him on Wednesday too
mmm,im sure you and tim will do fine jellen,a little radiation,a drop of chemo,if tim is a lightweight pack some pounds on him now.they can do amazing things now
Not a lightweight, lol
good
he will fare much better if he is fluffy like me;))
stocky...thats it;)
Yes, that's it!
He says he's working on a Buddha belly...
yeah. If you can plump him up a bit that may help. Is he able to eat, or is he having trouble getting enough nutrition?
im sure they will go with a course of chemo, now i do not want to freak you out with any of this jellen.ill shut up if you like
Don't worry, crossy...I'm aware of the possibilities...
kk
There's one new treatment that injects chemo directly into the liver...
but im here is the flesh(and lots of it lol) to prove to you they do amazing things now and try not to worry overmuch
that's pretty cool that they can do that, Jellen. I'm not up on melanoma treatments; (not my field of nursing) but that sounds really promising
and i have all kinds of tips and hints for when he is home on weekends between treatments that will help a lot,so do not be afraid to send me a mssg at chipdip33@hotmail.com if you need to jellen
computer tells me to tell Crossy to upload pics to flickr...must...do...what...computer.. .tells...me....
lol
flickr and i do not get along together
brb
one day when bored, ill set up a photo bucket
mmm, hope im not too direct on this, wife says im subtle as a brick, but i take things like cancer right between the teeth and bite it to death lool
how dare cancer get in the way of MY schedule lol..teach it who is boos round here;0
crossy, I think you're doing okay. I believe in facing things head on too
I have flickr, photobucket, snapfish.. but now I'm picasa
lol,i have a shoebox full of old 110 film
that's the way Crossy!! When the doctors told my friend she only had months to live, she just laughed at them and said "that's what yOU think! I have too much to do!"
m9, do you the same pics on all of those or are they all different?
all different!LOL.. I fill up one free account and go to the next!LOL
(that was "do you HAVE..."
it also depends on what they're on there for. Photobucket was where i put the pics to share for one wedding, and some scout stuff.
flickr is a lot of the homeschooling conference stuff.
okay. That makes some sense. I'd forget everything
here is a pic of flowers that grow at the side of my house: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/1 3kOu4H-2ekOhnaYf1kNwg?feat=directlink

he's a real little character.

I'm here and there, getting ready for the housewarming ;)
Where are you living now, NB? Are you living with someone or on your own?
well happy housewarming nb,but its time for me to soap down this mass of muscle and head for work..tc all and happy babbling...poink!
oh fun! you're having a party?
bye, crossy
bye crossy
Ata if you are out there all I can say is OMG!!!!!!!!!! Whoo for Dr Who and can't wait for part 2.
Hi everybody :)
Oh, I couldn't afford to live on my own in these parts ;) friend of mine has been looking for a new flatmate for several months. well, look no further ;)
Hi Soodle!
Soodle! Hello :)
and thanks and take care, Crossy :)
hi Soodle
does Leo know where you are now?
NB - I am getting - if not quite a happy vibe, maybe a less broken hearted one?
Are you near where you used to live, NB or is it another part of the city? Is it close to work?
it's a kitty vibe!LOL
BTW Meet Buster!
oh, I don't know, Soodle :) I'm sad, and I'm excited, and I'm angry...but the guy I'm living with now is lovely, really a nice person, and his two moggies seal the deal ;) I'm relieved to be out of there, too. In the end, he was nothing like I thought.
You gotta kiss a lot of frogs before you meet Prince Charming, NB. LOL
that is a bizarre pic!
Just don't get a tattoo for every frog! ;-)
quite right, M9 ;) and Nef, it's close enough to work - a 35 minute walk instead of 20 minutes, but I've always liked walking. Oh, and thank you for the advice you gave me about a week ago...I did indeed go and get 'checked out'
LOL Nef!
Hey, all...just got back after a food break...
Oh, I don't know, Nef. I still love my little lion ;) HE is the stupid one who tattooed my actual name on himself...he can have fun explaining that away to his future loves.
Congrats on your new living arrangements, NB!
YW, NB. I hope everything was okay? I hate to tell you about all the pregnant girls I see who tell us about their "wonderful" guys who have given them such a great *gift!*
thank you, Jellen! I'm so excited :)
well pregnant I am not, Nef...;) all looking good so far, just waiting on blood results! thank you :)
Food; hmmm. Maybe that's the next thing on my list....
(((NB))))
ooh, but now I'd better go get ready for this housewarming - ie, hide my laptop in a safe place ;) have a good evening/afternoon, all!
Have a great party, NB!
Let your hair down and enjoy, Nancy {{{}}}}
If you hide it under the mattress don't go to bed drunk, NB! ;-) It can mess things up - a LOT!
the Gagelet himself is up now.. wants to play Lego Batman on here. I'm gonna move to the laptop...
and Happy housewarming!!!1
Hello again, Babblers.
hi Scrabs
hello scrabs
Hi Scrabbler, and TO
hi soodle

we don;t. that's the issue
sorry, scrabs, I don't have any ce's yet
Tim waves back...
thairm
oops!
did ya get the ce?
TY, m9. All I had to do was choose a different ending from the 2nd ce5.
*waves at TO in the pb*
5 recalcitrant words emaining
That's a real word , the th6?
yup
LOL.. found this: "Thairm, it turns out, isn't in the free Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, where you just searched. However, it is available in our premium Merriam-Webster"
So, it's only a word in a "premium" dictionary....haha.
scottish for guts. at least in old poetry
Yucky, gross.
at least it Sounds better than guts!
leaveit to the scots. a language alltheir own
ass it to iwis and the other 50 odd scots words that appear
"The smaw thairm is a thraim, an a pairt o mony leevin beins. It lees atween the painch an the lairge thairm. In humans ower 5 year auld, a smaw thraim micht "

I'm gonna do up the other side of this top
Finished!
Jeesh, everyone disappeared so I guess I will, too. See you tomorrow sometime.
YAY, Mudd! WTG!!!
Sorry, we just got a huge pkg in the mail and we were going nuts opening it
bbs, definitely need to eat
Hello all, housework break! Howdy Nef, how was your week?
hi Jilly. It was a tough week, but I made it through it
Same here, man I was dog tired last nite!
I still am tired. 46 hours was too much when a person is used to only working half that
It's the 10 hour stretches that do me in! Hey, any hints on the two CA5's?
Jilly are there only 2 ca5?
according to Lickety
I don't have them yet, Jilly. I did 2 7 hrs, 1 12 hr, an 8 hr and ended with another 12 hour. Now I have some "hot spots" on my bad foot.
if so, 1 is a plural and the other is a little hat and where you put it
ca5/14 is a type of poultry
thanks pinny! got it
thanks Bugs and Pinny
no problemo
Hi Nef, just got here
DUH! I keep trying words from letters that are already blacked out!
lol....do that all the time!
LOL I keep trying the same words but starting from the other P so I think it is new
oasts
PB fo me..... taking Lemonade since it is such a lovely day here
didn't work, Bugs, subtract a snake
I know, I typed it wrong and caught myself in the wrong box before I knew what I had done. Hot day
I figure if it wasn't a WORD for this grid, no PB (I spend too much time there already)
me too but sometimes it is more fun in there than out here!
LOL! Isn't that the truth! :-)
have a good time Babbling everyone. Even lurkers!
Evening all - me and the mad hubby walked 14.5 miles today from Burton Bradstock to Chickerell near Weymouth - we were going to walk to Weymouth but the lack of water and the heat finished us off
it must have been on of the hottest days of the year as well
kazzer..im freezing here
it's been bitterly cold in london today :(
well, dust bunnies are calling me...see you all l8r on the chog! Happy Babbling.
Congrats, Kazzer on the walk. I was supposed to walk 2 miles today but can't; my foot hurts
I have sunburn that makes my face look like a pizza and hubby has a bbq head - hot enough to grill burgers - and to make matters worse the sun wasnt out all the time
does anyone have the cu 6 at all
i've got it
clues please
snooker c** + ***mp collection
hmm interesting - my babble must be having one its moments as i had already tried that
I think Babble refuses some words at times til you have several other words first. Then if you wander off, it will erase it from your list too. ;-)
no Nef - dont want to be erased
well, sometimes when I submit a word, it says I already have it but it isn't in my list anymore.
hi jo,,THANKS for the pictures,,he is a cutie for sure,,and a happy one
so it MUST be erasing the words!

I've almost got the 4th cut out.
hi m9, congrats on going pro

I'm sewing up a storm today...
what are you making?
I've got three tops pretty much done (just need to hem sleeves and bottoms) and 4th almost cut out. Just need to cut the back piece.
wow, are they for you?
disco dance costumes.. dress rehearsal this eve..so I need to finish!
wish I could sew
just try it.
sounds like it will be fun
it's not an exact science as much as most sewers would like to believe so!LOL
I did not like sewing class in jr. high many years ago
ah!! that's your problem! you need to deschool yourself!
maybe but not interested in trying
LOL

top all cut out
Hello again. Hope all is well. I have 50 left, and I am sure I wont finish...
sure you can red!
I'll clue you if you ask!
nah, I have to go to work in about an hour, so have things to do.
I don't actually care either way, so it isn't a big deal to not finish!
ah. gotchya
It's nice not to care. I went through a caring phase, but lately I am too busy.
I'm actually sewing.. but have the laptop right next to me.
I should be cleaning, but, heck it's my Monday.
well there ya go!.. I guess I've had a month of Mondays then!LOL
Oh no!
oh yes!
ack...my hands are sweaty. I hate doing gathering with sweaty hands
I have the air on, and am watching the storm report, I do love summer!
luckily it's just a small little stretch of gathering. We don't have a/c. and it's muggy today. I should pull out the little window units and stick them in the windows....
M, you clearly live somewhere a little north of me.
LOL. in Oregon. But on East side of Cascades.. so almost desert
Hi everybody! The weather here in Ireland is just PERFECT at the moment. Clear sunshine, and no humidity. Happens here once in a blue moon, so everybody is in good humor and smiling, and wearing ridiculous clothes. Its great!!
well then I'll come visit you!LOL
and hi Soodle
You would be more than welcome - but, be quick! Weather like this is very very scarce!!
and no snakes to boot!
hi all! back to finish, can I have a clue for the first th6?
Not a snake in sight, M9. Good old St Patrick got rid of them all for us!!
th+what we breathe+a consonent
yes I know!
tx minski, never would have monkeyed that
I didn't either. Used A2Z wordfinder and a bit of a guess.
that's firewords - thanks to all cluers
I used to live in oregon, much less need for air there than here. And Soodle, I do wish I could go right over.
We are about to get a rather large one. hopefully it will keep the Emergency visits down some.
that would be a large storm, sorry...
Red - Honestly! I don't work for the tourist board, but it is a pretty cool place to visit.
yay DAN!!
Thanks for the clarification there, Red. I was wracking my brains thinking a huge WHAT?? could keep emergency visits down....
ya missed the pics I posted earlier soodle.
does dr god come here anymroe
all the time izkat
Cool
hello all
Aw no, M9 - what did I miss?
have not seen Dr God here in a long time
I only sw dr god here once
BTW - delighted to see you have gone Pro, M9!
I must be more suspicious than you peri!
a pic of Gage when he was 1 (he's 4 now) and flowers in my yard
thanks soodle
Gage??? Human? Animal? (I know what flowers are... lol)
was just going to ask Soodle
Hi again. I went and took a nap. I can't believe that I did that!
my youngest
mo6 please
naps are good, Nef. how are you, how is DH
and he sure looks cute..in his mo**** suit!
Golly! You have a 4 yr old, you sew, and you Babble?? Your name should be Multi-Task, not M9f9l!!
thanks m9 i just got it cheers
hi peri. DH got his stupid scared out of him; he's MUCH more careful and is obeying restrictions now
haha
Nef - the only negative thing about naps is that you have to wake up twice in the one day. Otherwise, naps are brilliant!!
I'm not a person who normally takes naps; but I just told my daughter I felt like I'm hung over but haven't had a drink!
M9 - does gage have many siblings? That sounds daft...How many kids do you have?
hey nef, I have been napping all day! of course I have to go and do the whole being awake at night thing....
LOL. I have 22 yo girl, she just got engaged. 19 yo boy, 14 yo girl and Gage. He's 4
red, if you're on night shift; you aren't napping all day. You ought to be sleeping!
OMG!!! Gage must have come as somewhat of a shock.....
yes but been off, so tonight is y Monday.
I have a 20 yr old son, an 18 yr old daughter, and a 15 yr old daughter. An addition at this stage would be life-changing.......
m9, I can't imagine having kids with that big of an age spread. And if you're as young as your picture looks...
not really. more of a sense of closure. There were 5 miscarriages between him and the 14 yo
I didn't start having kids until I was 24.
(((m9)))
so how young do I look?? LOL (fishing)
LOL! I was over 30 when we started! I had 2 miscarriages
My mom had me when she was 41. I had Gage when I was 42.. I guess I just had to one up my Mother!LOL
Well, that is just great!!!! Rock on Gage. Just going to have a peep at the pic in close-up....
funny M9. I am sure that wasn't it.
I wouldn't think you were over 40
You do look nice and young. My Sister sent me antiwrinkle products for my birthday this year....
ah.. you found the pics in the chog. good
You clearly have a picture of yourself in the attic = a lá Dorien Gray. You look about 24.
wow! Thanks.. the gray in my hair belies it.
Have you not heard of L'Oreal? I'm sure your worth it.....
Anti-wrinkle cream, Red? Tell us more....
OUCH, red. I'd be hurt by that if my sis did that. Of course, my sisters and I have a weird sense of humor and we give each other old lady purses or bags full of strange and wonderful old lady stuff (ha** nets, rouger, golden slippers, cloth handkies, support NYLONS with the seams, etc.
ROFL Nef. Thank you so much. I owe my sister a birthday present, and you have just given me a brainwave.
I can't believe Tim just called on the phone and pulled me from my sewing just to ask the title of Napolean Dynamite...
For my 50th, they went together and gave me an old lady sun hat, the full body old-fashioned apron (that only covers one boob at a time) a blue knot shawl, etc. One sister gave another one something called "butt floss"
what is Napolean Dynamite?
butt floss!!! that's what I call a thong
LMAO!!!! Where oh where in Ireland will I get Butt Floss? I just cannot imagine walking into my local shop asking for same.....
Napolean Dynamite is a movie about a geeky guy who ends up doing some kind of amazing things. it's different
Imagine a GIANT thing of dental floss and that was what it was like I was told (I wasn't there at the time)
it's where "vote for Pedro comes from"
oops. ended the quote late.
Oh right. A thong! I'm a little bit disappointed. I had visions of mysterious potions in a tube labelled Butt Floss. :(
I guess the butt floss makes sense. you know how old people keep diaper wipes in the bathroom. I guess a kind of floss would really get the stubborn stuff.
AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH. Too much information, M9.
hey..it's just part of live. Me..I'd rather just eat more fiber!LOL
LOL! This is really a weird convo! I thought it was some sort of a joke; but now you are saying it's a real item?
well I'm assuming it is....?
Soodle putting fingers in ears and singing la la la really loudly. Tell me about butt floss when I need it. Not before, ok?
Humming The Who song 'Hope I die before I get old'......
ok....all the hits I'm getting on google are referring to the underwear..
here's the definition: A form of female underwear so narrow as to effectively remove deposits from within surrounding crevices. Similar to dental floss as used in the act of orthodontic hygiene.
Good evening, all. There is no such thing as butt floss. It's a derogatory term for thong underware or bathing suit. Geesh!
EWWWW! It's not how I imagined it!
*underwear* that is.
Oooh thank you Judi. Nobody could believe the mental images I was having....
Judi, I was just passing on what one sister told me that another sister had given her
Not to be confused with thong sandals.
which you have to call flip flops now. but they will always be thongs to me...
This is why I love Babble. Last night there was an earnest conversation about the best way to murder your husband, tonight its about butt floss. You just cant help loving Babble. :)
and what IS the best way??
If you pardon the expression, the jury is still out!!!!
How come I always miss the useful conversations and come in on things like "butt floss"???
RubyFoo was very taken with Death By Butter.
Poor kitty is missing Aiden. She's wandering around meowling...oh wait... that's Elina's cat.
that makes more sense. Aiden's cat doesn't really meow. She just sings when she's happy (meaning when she has a piece of crinkly celophane)
Judi, if you go back in the archives, you will find some very useful suggestions/tips. It was hilarious!
Death by Butter? does that mean slathering her hubby with it or stuffing him with it?
probably clogging his arteries!
I think the cunning plan was to cook all his meals in very high cholesterol butter. The man is 85, and very contrary. It was more or less agreed that this course of action would keep Ruby out of jail, if he were to pop his clogs....
ummm t bone steak for sup with butter slathered mashed potatoes and herb and garlic cream cheese in it and broccoli salad... almost feasty time and one word left
Yay Joanne. Your making me hungry....
sounds like that would kill me too!
god that good piece..the fillet is huge for a steak
Yikes, Joanne. I just had a thought.... Your significant other isn't trying to kill you, are they?
reminds me of the convos we had when my dad was ready to go....
he eats more then me , i just make it hehehehe
Ah! A his n hers steak!!
we actually are not big eaters but i make enough for an army
no we share a steak and there is left overs too, like half the steak
when i make cabbage rolls, i make about 40 and change and freeze then give them to family
When my husband was around, I remember going into the butchers, and asking for a steak for him (huge) and one for me (small).
i can;t understand how people can eat so much without feeling uncomfortable afterwards
like christmas dinner.. my eyes bigger then my stomach so i bite off more then i can chew
half a plate and my eyes are bulging and my father in law just laughs at me
Lol. I can never eat Christmas dinner. I spend a whole week planning it, a whole day cooking it, and by the time it is ready, I can't even look at it.
haha like me soodle
I am here wittering away, and I got fireworks long ago. Can I clue anybody?
when I was young, I used to eat very slow and I never felt like I needed to finish a full plate of food.
YAY, Soodle!!! WTG!!!!
Ta Nef.
my son was that way and now my daughter is that way
wtg soodle
she is 23 and slow at eating
i just want it done and over with
Oh my! I have raised 3 savages. Regardless of what I put in front of them, they demolish it, and still look hungry. :(
I am more familiar with the backs of my kids, as they rootle around in the fridge, than I am with their faces...
If they are all boys/men; they ARE savages when it comes to meat
Nef - with an Irish accent - my kids are Mate Aters (meat eaters)
LOL!
yes... i had barbe for my guys at work and they were eating like 3 sausages and hamburger and side dishes..
ohh and chicken too
I'm almost done with majority of 4th top
Yay M9
m9; you'd better hurry!
ok sup ready so must go as i have finished about 10 mins ago..byeee have a great nite
Almost midnight here.Time to tootle off to bed. I really enjoyed the chog tonight - Thanks all, and good night.
Tomorrow's chog subject: "How to Murder a Thong"
Good nite Joanne
LOL, Judi! What a consept!
Oh, Jud, dont start till I get here. I'd hate to miss that.....
concept
AKA - Strangulation with a G String....
I suppose thongs could be recycled. It''s ever so more green and responsible.

hi river!
M9 you are quickly running out of time

hmmm....dont know if I want to think about that....
;-)
no Riverdance, you didn't scare me away; I just went to the kitchen for tea
aha! I just figured out why the tension is messing up sometimes...doh!
sleeves all hemmed. thank you for keeping me on task guys
hiya nef - how goes the battle
It goes on, River; How are you doing?
why the name change?
yes it does - I'm Ok - was on playing with pini, jmc and stid one night - talking about how I needed something more exciting than momneedshelp - so here I am with my new name thanks to my babble freinds
so do you have TWO ID's here now? I'm sure I saw you here as Momn just a couple of weeks ago
you know whats funny - more people talk to me as river
I am officially changed to riverdance - momn is now gone. Dr God has the almighty power to do such things
Dr God has the power all right! ;-)
my son has been scheduled for his cath on july 6. Just need to keep him calm until them - tough job....
well, you can always buy him a new video game
that might help
done but not working - his baseball team had a double header today - he wanted to go to cheer them on - we did let him but would not let him bring his glove this time as a few days ago we found him warming up the next pitcher....
his coach put him on as first base coach to give him something to do
what did the docs say about restricting his activities?
video games will be good during the week when he is stuck home and cant do anything else
no exercise, limited activity - basically do nothing and take your meds
hard to do for an athletic kid - he understands, just cant control himself
I think I am going to find a movie to watch - anyone need any clues before I go
Good night folks
Darn! Sorry, River. DH needed some help and it took longer than we thought it would. I missed you. :-(
Wow, this place is dead tonight! I have 12 left: 6 T's and 6 S's
go Nef!
Hi lbd. how are you tonight? (4 T's left now)
hi Nef, i'm doing well. how are you and how's DH doing?
We are doing okay, lbd. Unfortunately, it looks like we won't be able to make it to MT. He isn't well enough for the trip. :-(
oh, that's too bad. I was looking forward to it, but I sure understand not being able to come out.
I am so bummed. I was really looking forward to a meet up with you guys; but he isn't in good enough shape to make it and I can't be here and there at the same time
priorities, and i'm sorry he's not up to the trip. I'm sure he feels just as bad about not being able to come out for the wedding.
yeah. We both had hopes that he would "pop back" to his previous normal level of functioning; but it isn't happening and I didn't realize how close that is.
i can't believe how fast the days are flying by. hard to believe it's mid June already.
Yeah. The wedding is in 2 weeks from today!\
6 left. All S's now

Only sweater I ever knitted was from that, River. I never wore it....but I made it. HAHA!

i'm allergic to it, which i did not find out till i was given a sweater made of it. Sneezy city!
Thanks, Nef....that is a good one......If I could figure a way to get them from my upper lip to my head, I would have a great more to deal with.

the ta5 animal is small and kind of hum-backed so i guess it looks a bit like an anteater . . .
Aha--is a proper word and should not be allowed. St***ylococcus aureus...

Yep Pini. Bitterroot valley
I think that would be the least they could do, dc
Jilly, is that anywhere near lbd?
yes, well the Reston Association is not the world's most user-friendly HOA/quasi-town-government
that's too bad, dc

oh pini, i fear i shall have to beg further help, I don't see a p near a c
rather a p near a S
upper right I, Jilly
it's low-fat overall, and the pasta is perfectly al dente, so low-glyceme
I went to a party last night desert was meant to be self saucing pudding with caramelo chocolate topped with the icecream. I got pushed out of that idea as everyone else had sweet food.
it just sounded fat;)
as my hero christopher robin would say....o help and bother *even redder in face* thanks pini
just 3 tbs of olive oil plus the cheese, so not all that fatty
Thanks for the IM 6 looking for that myself
and the cheese is optional, though i seasoned it to need the salt from the cheese
mmm
and i made the dish to be extra special savory
im doing up a nice pasta meal tomorrow;)

I made reservations for dinner ;)
i love potato boats stuffed with herbed mashed taters with bacon bits and cheese all baked nice and golden...mmmmmm
nice, TNC
Not sure we're talking about the same thing, crossy...but your's does sound yummy!
Potato Boats (in my house) = 2 polish sausage (or hotdogs) sliced down the center and laid flat on cookie sheet, covered in mashed potatoes, slice of cheddar cheese on top (cook in oven about 15 minuts or until cheese melts); sprinkle lightly with paprika for a touch of color!
(great kids meal!)
definatly not the same, but sounds delish
and sooooo simply...my kids really like being able to "cook"
sounds easy
that would go right to my heart pini
(very easy if you use instant potatos)
sorry, crossy...
Ok now I am too warm.
