went to my friend's 50th anniversary party this afternoon........ there were over 100 people there...... from 96 years old down to three days. it was a wonderful gathering and we all felt so blessed.

we actually had a lovely cruise out of Miami ruby and the airport was a treat too

in 1967 I took the France trans-Atlantic back and forth. My son was only 4 and he had his own waiter in the children's dining room and we weren't even in 1st class!
and for those that don't there is someone there to admonish
It was okay, but the hotel had 400 rooms and the beach was narrow. We made out own meals. I had a room to myself and had gone to join a nephew and niece and my bro-in-law and his wife, who sort of wanted to keep to themsleves mostly. I was glad to get back to Salt spring!

me, too! We trtavelled off-season and it wasn't crowded and I used to go up on deck and the steward would wrap me in a blanket and bring me bouillon! I think things have changed.....

I just found the wild life amazing. It was the one thing that made Oz seem so "foreign" if you know what I mean. If we go to the continent, on the whole the birds and animals and sounds are similar. In Oz it was mind blowing!
The galahs and so on just flying wild were wonderful.

No. I was at a proper Chinese resturant on Friday night I swear they were getting the crabs and fish out of the tanks as we dined
I went to a japanese restaurant once and ordered the octopus...thinking it would be nice tender little guys with veggies.. they brought out plate with one very big octopus. the body sliced in rings and the whole tentacles "artfully" draped about. Even Aiden tried some (she was about 6) but it was overcooked and pretty tough.
mine was in Hongkong... brought out a live lobster, put it on a wooden board and stuck a metal skewer thru it's skull, then sliced it open down the back... it was screaming in the most henious high-pitch scream... I cried.

she just got engaged to a really sweet guy. But most importantly.. she really knows herself and what makes her happy.
which is... vegetables, children, writing, poetry, history, anthropology...etc...
That is good. I have the highest respect for both parents and teachers
but it was my son who really led me to radical unshooling.LOL
it's very interesting to me how many unschoolers have a background in teaching.
and how many teachers in general end up homeschooling their own children.

I saw an 11 yr old with her mother this morning and their was such tension between them. Excuse me, you are with your daughter everyday and you must teach her to be responsible for her health + care.

it was so peaceful, up here we have a certain type, a recumbant stone circle and they are mostly found in fertile farming areas and relate to the stages of the moon etc
and probably used for planting times etc
there are standing stones and burial cairns within 5 miles of here and so many i can't count within 70 miles
here, although nothing is particularly old, the locals talk about planting at certain phases of the moon....

I think Lickety has been in on it, but neither of them actually play babble so may miss some of the ways we use Expert.

The good part is that if all the features we love are included, the Mac people will be able to enjoy them too.
Lickety may not be up to making any changes to Expert to make it compatible. I am not a computer person so I just wonder about these things and drive myself nuts
