Douge (pronounced dohg with a long o) was the native language hereabouts. Survives today only in place names
The waters in this area have just been dubbed the Salish Sea.
Di 6
we have a few place names that remain from pre-european days, some are being restored thanks to good recording from people who recorded what the elders remembered... but so many names and knowledge lost even though it has only been a couple hundred years here.

Hi Infernal and anyone else around
Hi Lynxx on this cold wet day
It is isn't it - specially after the nice weather this week. Must be Winter!
And you in the PB :D
oh thanks - can you tell I just started?
Yep
good morning all how many words today please
Hi Sandra and 327
hi Sandra 327
abig one for a change. i only have 143 at the moment
Back soon I have to make toll house cookies for the wee
week
morning all :)
hi Sprite
hey lyn, hi lady. How are you doing?
Very well. Think Infernal is whipping up a batch of biscuits
ah! So that is what she said. Toll house cookies, lol. I learn something new in babble every day. Glad you are very well, lyn!
biscuits with chocolate bits in them from memory
You and the family are all well?
yes we are. School holidays now in Holland, nice and relaxed weeks ahead of us.
How long are these holidays? Terra will be pleased to have the kids around too I bet
normally they are 6 weeks. But now that they are both on high school, they have an extra week in which they only need to come and collect their books and roster.
Terra loves it. Lots of attention and lots of extra walks and outings.
do you even remember not having a dog now?
yes I do, and I can't imagine how I did without. Sometimes my love takes Terra for a trip or canoeing weekend and I hate it. The house is so empty without Terra!
now that we are talking holidays... how about the word re4tival for a feast of relaxation?
wow, lovely big grid today!
hello rubyfoo
I see we finally have managed to pick an icon theme that functions as icon clue as well.
sounds like a good word to me Sprite
Hi Ruby
'scuse me for a few minutes, people coming for dinner so need to run around a bit
bye for now, lyn
hi and bye lynxx
hello sprite. Has your weather cooled off? This is our first cool mornign in weeks but they're predicting EXTREMELY hot for tomorrow!
it has been delightfully cool since yesterday. I truly hope that extreme heat will not come here, I've HAD it with the tropical weather.
elid
hi trixie

hi...sorry 'bout that...ham hands on the keyboard.
hehehe don't say sorry, it is nice to see you
wow, that's the fastest 130 I've ever done!
leerer
ouh oh, pb for me
lol
nice feeling, isn't it, racing through so many words?
you always do it, sprite, but it's rare for me
that is a double PB for you, lol
no I do not always do it, of course not. Some grids are tough and let you fight for them word by word.
oh no! sloppy ruby!!!
I want ravioli, all kinds of words ending in -tive and the -earn combination. It is phantom phest.
see you later, the stomper is back
bye rubyfoo
hello all
hi ursh :)
HI again. Back from the kitchen

wb lady
I guess I do have cookie dough freezing I could go eat that. HOw are you all

Just finished making a double batch of Toll house cookies. I break each batch into 4 logs then freeze and cut up when needed.
I am well and celebrating 40 years of marriage today seriously need a noddy badge
Awwww.Ursh that is sweet
aw ursh that is beautiful! Congratulations and may you get to celebrate 50 too
Congrats Ursh - if they still made them I would send you one.
what is a noddy badge?
Oops guests here - must go
bye lyn, have a great evening
bye lynxx
it is a badge noddy (from children's books) hands out to others for brave or clever actions
woot! You certainly deserve one. A long and good marriage takes a lot of work and courage.
himselfis being so irritating playing stupid loud video games
but he is probably enjoying himself a lot :)
he is but arrr driving me nuts
hehehe :)
fish me for missing the Id words
*slaps lady around with a guppie*
thanks
and you missed them because you have been extremely busy.
I missed them because i didn't look up
I did find 230 odd words out of mybrain
wow lady, good job!
I am trying to find more and moe to build up my vocab
*hugs the lady* Even in your spare time you are still learning!
Sprite. I love word games. We had to do a basic there, they're their thing at school last week I did it then sat there waiting for ages
lol you are way too good for that level
The teacher did it due to the high grammatical errors on our papers. I am thinking spell check is not that hard. BUt then again the school system is about 2 or 3 years behind what we learnt
still some people would benefit from using spell check, even if it is 2 or 3 years out of date.
No not spell check being out of date. For example what I learned in grade 6 the school was recently teaching year 9 students
ouch! That is bad.
It is and it is sad. One of the girls asked what a herb was (that was similar to Time)
omg! *baffled*
YEar nine have English Grammar and learning stuff we learnt in year 6
brb
it seems here in holland things are going back to what I would call normal. There has been a period where people who graduated still could not spell. But my children have gotten all the rules in elementary school, thank god.
my parents taught me
I learned on elementary school, then had to do it all over again at high school because most of my classmates had not learned on their el school.
sigh
my father and grandfather were teaching Dutch at schools, so I already knew most of it... still know and it helps so much when learning other languages
I didn't learn much at school
O my friends dog dislocated her tail. poor baby
awwww how did she manage that? Must be so painful :(
No idea. The vet missed it the first time, probably due to her not wanting a faceful of sore dog
poor baby
She is a very sweet dog.
As my friend always say.Just when yuo thought it was safe to put away your wallet
lol yes
Might we add that said wallet has been ''decorated'' by one of her other dogs
hahahaha. We sent Caya a postcard from us all, and we let Te5 bite the corner. She loved it.
awwww
ding cookies done back in a min
waiiiiiit I wanna cookie too!
Awww Sprite I would love to share. One of my friends today told me I was so domesticated
you are a marvelous cook, I think. But I think you are still pretty wi4 :)
Well one of my friends is working 4 days straight. We had to go to her place and get some papers for her. She has 2 wild wombats on her property. They are so cute and sooooo fat
awww
That was a 3hour round trip at 1130pm last night
I dropped off food for her g.f and food for her at her work on Thursday since she was stuck on a 4 day shift.
Then one of the horses in the paddock gave me a heart attack by coming over and saying HI when we were leaving and I had to open the front gate.
I would call that being a great friend, not being domesticated, lol.
ohhh I found the 9! And it is a re4 word. This is such a fun grid.
Thanks so the 9 is an Re word?
no a Ri word. I meant it is an actual word, a normal word.
Smart Sprite
let me know if you want a clue, I have a good one
I ahve it thank you
But feel free to clue it
lolllll ok... fights between brothers and sisters = sibling ri9
Cute
thanks :D
brb again
oooo was just back in time for ri9 clue - had me hunting for a Y - tx sprite
mmmmmmm cookies
wtg ursh!
I ahve to go soon and go drop off tonight's dinner to a friend
you are an amazing friend, lady. *hugs* to you.
az
a wonderful az to you too, stan
Awww Sprite. I do what I can. She is just trying to sort her life out after a rotten start to the year.
Hi Stan
and she will, because she has your support
And other great friends. Even though she is the one that has done things that have hurt me she knows that she has our support
I re4 my case... a true friend.
Either that or the b.f and I ahve gone nuts
Plus they have pets and I can't bare the thought of them struggling to feed themselves after the fur brats
lol... PB for you, lady
Ok what did I say
Morning, how many words??? this grid does not look easy!!!
ei6
hiya ren, it isn't too hard, just big. It is a reallly fun grid.
Had that.
Hi ren. Not to bad a grid
oh and lady, ei6 leads to ne7 as well.
had that too
good job I have quite a lot of spare time today then. Best get stuck in
enjoy, ren8
thanks sprite I hope so
Right O I am going for a bit. Talk later
bye lady *hugs*
hugs all round
fireflies! bye all :)
WTF how does this game work? I keep typing in words i see on this puzzle board but they aren't in the puzzle? makes no sense.
hi guys, jawa, the aim is to find all the words in the puzzle, in this there are 327
Have you consulted 'Help' above the chat log? It explains how the game is played.
Hi sandy n Haz
hi norma and haz
Lol apparently there are words that should be in the puzzle but arent. fucking retarded.
and herin if you are there
Words have to be four letters or more, they have to touch, you can go in any direction including diagonally, letters can only be used in a a word once.
the letters have to be adjoining
Enough of the language, Jaw.
Not acceptable in this log, perhaps you should find another word game that gives you more of a challenge.
have you had a nice weekend haz?
Fine so far, sandy - just waiting for my sister to arrive and trying to get a few more words.
we have had friends here for lunch today so I am exhausted, would have liked a smaller grid today tho , but c'est la vie
At least it seems to be fairly civilised.
area
whoops
sorry
Hello everybody.
morning all - quite a nice grid today - managed to get to less than 100 without going to the list
hi soods
Hello, Soodle and Kazzer.
hi kazz
And the sister has appeared! I'd better let her in. Bye for now!
bye
cya haz
Kaz I am at 133, and no list. A triumph for me!
I have 61 just started but i will try to get 133 with no list too, that is my aim LOL
just gone to the list at 93
lare
sorry, I am tired (that is my excuse)
Wow, Sandy. Maybe you should have higher aspirations!!!!
LOL that is high enough for me soods
feel like going to the list now , but I'm holding out
I never thought I would be a pace-maker in Babble. LOL
you are for sure!
got 74 now
only 59 to go (I think)
anyone got the ae?
not me
Any clues please for re 8/40
Sorry Kaz Not yet
haven't got that either
Gran to take into custody again.
ae= something on top of the telly. re8 = to become incarcerated again.
thnx Dachef
Thanks Dachef and finished!
Yay for Gran!!!
***** congratulations *****
wtg gran
95 now soods
(Sandy - I won't tell if you don't)
lol, I like these personal challenges to myself soods
it gives me purpose in life
slowing now
133
Yay Sandy. Welcome to my world....
now at 152 , you have given me a new lease on life soods
think i will list soon , very soon
I have to go and do su
Hic. I have to go and do stuff. BBL - see you all soon. Poof
bye see you soon
sandy? are you still there?
I guess I missed soodle!
and everybody
back for a few minutes then back on my bike!
yes I am
I can hardly wait for the pyranees (cant spell it
the last couple of stages have not been very exciting
yay! did you see Mark Rencshaw's bad behavior?
they've started but are not there yet. About half way to the big mountain of the day, an HC, then a steep descent and then a steep climb to a 1.
LOL I did, but he said the other guy was pushing him against the rail and he had no choice- i think he should have had a warning and a fine , not ousted
I was happy to see Vino win the stage yesterday since Contador (BAD GUY) should have let him take the previous stage but didn't
ruby, I dont like vino but why are you so against Contador, I dont know much about him
that's what the announcer thought, too. He said nobody was hurt and they do things that are a lot worse in the peleton like throwing water bottles at 60 MPH!
well I did see Cadel actually throwing punches in the Giro d'Italia
I find him an arrogant jerk and he refuses to speak any French when almost all of the other riders at least try, even Vino. And with Vino, he was Lance's "enemy" but he served his 2 yrs suspension, has learned French and eaten enough humble pie to appear to be a nice guy.
I love all this stuff
no kidding! I've never watched the Giro
me, too, I'm having a wonderful time.
and it's in the only air-conditioned room in the house although today it's a little cooler, so I can watch in the living room
this is really my favorite thing
I think we should forgive him I guess, he is a good rider but often I think he rides for himself
I wonder about Andy Schleck as he looks sort of slack-jawed and dumb. I hope he winds but I think Contador is stronger.
First choice, for me, would be if Vino beats Contador! And that Lance should win one stage in the Pyrenees!!!!
wins*
I love Lance!
Do you realize that you are my only friend who is the least bit interested in all this?
*finally reached half*
It would be amusing if Vino won, that would make Contador really mad
I have no other either Ruby! My sister tries to take an interest but she knows nothing
yes, very funny. Last year, when Lance was on Astana, I think there was a lot of bad blood between him and Contador and, of course, Vino was still banned
I hate it when they reach half because then it is the countdown to the end
Did you notice how many ex-Astana guys are on Lance's team?
me too
I am going to google and see if I can find something out , I love googling about the tour
I love the Tour- I would love to be in France and have some Tour Parties
I haven't done that. Did you see my viper drama in the chog? I thought I had two vipers in my studio but they turned out to be legless lizards, "slow worms" and harmless. Not cute, but definitely not venomous and DH found them on Google, so we're sure.
get everyone to dress as their favourite tour rider LOL
nobody seems interested around here, even last year when it came around "our" lake and through the village more than 100 times!
I did catch that, we have a lot of poisonous snakes here so I sympathise with you
I really like reptiles, but not poisonous ones. And I was worried for the dogs because viper bites are lethal for animals
I don't think I'd look very good in bicycle shorts and a jersey! Helmet would be good, though
I have had friends whose horses have been killed by snakes and my brothers dog got killed by one
what kind of snakes?
I made that pavlova today as we had guests
around here we mainly get dugites and tiger snakes
I might do a curry this week and cook your recipes
I will ook them up later, writing down the names
that was look* not cook, lol
it's been too hot to cook here
they are deadly also we have one called the King Brown
has anyone got the first la please
I just hate the hot weather and we get plenty of that here
not me kaz
Kazz my first LA is Lai Den
I have 5 la's but don't know if my la4/4 is the first or not
hello kaz
O dear that was La den
hello herin
same as mine, lol
no its a la 5/10
not hot here at the moment , it's freezing
la5/10 household gods and la5/10 used to correct age spots

Owl, that is good news

Neither do I
If only it would turn...
It isn't so bad
time to get the laundry
I have flown thru the first 200 or so but it has slowed down now
Although it's kind of nice that there are so many. You can almost throw a dart and hit a word!
I am down to 87 words and it is slow going
that w is very annoying
75 and it is a trudge
Have 23 left
You can do it!
go herin go!!

is it cold in Melbourne Herin?
Freezing in Melb
sandy, it is going to be 92 degrees here, will gladly send some warmth your way
and to herin, too
Annie I am happy under my dona
we are having mostly sunny days with very cold nights and bit of rain here and there
It is going to be freezing in the am
O dear I had Maccas again too late
and here too , I have to chip ice off the car
gotta keep off the big macs
I had nuggets last night at about 2am
I have a secret vice - maccas breakfasts
I used to be like that, I'd go down the Night Owl at 2am in the morning
Sandy I was a fan of their special breaky they had for the games
love those egg and bacon mcmuffins and those hash browns
COlhad we had to go for a long drive at 11pm last night. The munchies hit at 2am.
every one is entitled to a few vices
O and wombats are too cute
herin, are you telling us something ? patter of little feet?
NO.
LOL wise lady
but.....midnite munchies....
I mean being driven around late at night makes me hungry. THis weekend has been very irregular in eating
I really have a thing for fries and nuggets late at night no I wasn't under the influence of any substance
Midnight munchies says something else to me ;)
Hi NB. Not that sort of munchies last night. Just a need to eat random crap. I would love to have had a chocolate milk but that is a no
How is your ankle?
now im thinking about those hash browns
O those things are evil Sandy. They are so so good
The ankle isn't too bad, thank you :) being a little slow to heal, because I have to work twelve-hour shifts on it, without my crutches. It'll get there though!
Hi NB
I like to take a bite of the hash brown, then a bite of the mcmuffin then a sip of coffee LOL
NB here is a tip. Shave your ankle and lower leg and put strapping on it
Hiya, Nono :) cute icon pic!
I have an ankle brace for it, don't worry ;) it'll be alright, just hope it heals up in time for my trip!
very cute nan,
Nono is that your little black kitty?
thanks NB it was really the coolest bird. It was totally unperterbed by humans
No Herin my icon is a bird
or do you mean in my flicker pics?
yes that is my Missy Shadow
does anyone know why lickety's must be refreshed each time one accesses it?
Oh, once a nesting mother settles down, the world better make way ;) at school, we had a bird that used to nest in the centre of a pathway every spring - totally oblivious to the teenagers swarming everywhere!
I dont have to refresh it TO
I don't have to either
I know NB this particular parking lot is a very busy one lots of cars and motorcycles all the time and she was right in the middle of a driving lane
I meant your Kitty she is pretty
No idea TO.
I discovered a new found respect for women pre disposable leg razors today
Morning everyone. TO, I have to "send words to clues" every time I close out of lickety and reopen it
it is so lovely to see when they hatch though! really so adorable.
HI Mom
hi (((Mom)))
{{Herin}} hello
i do.. and i know i have cookies enabled
and hi mom!
it has been going on for a while here so I just minimize it wh** I know I am coming back to play some more
for sure NB. I have a small bird house just outside my window there is a nest of young sparrows in it this spring. They are still to tiny to make an appearance but I am watching for them all the time
{{TO}} morning
It seems every year I have a different kind of bird build a nest in it
{{Annie}} good morning
Can I just say my experiment today was interesting
can someone pls share ar7?
awww Nono, I'm so jealous! No chance of that in the middle of London
sure you can say it, Herin :) what was the experiment?
experiment, Herin?
sorry TO I don't have it, but will help you look

Experiment went well
trying
you used the pumice stone on your legs?
Yes Mom
wet I hope
yep
that sounds painful
Thank {{Nono}} got one of them
Was used in the 1940s as a way to shave without a razor
Not really Mom just a bad case of razor burn
put some cream on them then :)
Mom, one is present tense the other past tense
waxing is the best way. no pain no gain!
Have but feels better than shaving.
thankyou nan, i have them
Nancy I do that to my eyebrows. I just thought I would experiment
eyebrows are enough waxing for me, thank you.
got them, thanks Nono
eyebrow waxing is enough for me mom, I am not into pain
I have the best lady that does it and tinting when I do my eyelashes and eyebrows (once every 6mths)
I am blonde so there is really nothing there.
you tint your eyelashes and eyebrows? Hmmm, maybe I should get out more
ah I see
i have mine tinted too , that doesn't hurt
you could just get permanent eyebrows
i wish i had eyebrows to wax.
try having black hair ;) I have to be ever-vigilant, eyebrows wise!
TO, do you have to draw yours on?
have to have a break bbl
ir 6 pls?
bye bye Sandy, thanks for the clues
ir + not fake
no.but they do thin out with age, which is why you want to be very careful. i barely tweezed
ty

HI Champfit
Hi Mom

By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
Heya Min
Looks like I brought all the NY humidity into the chog and wilted it!
Hello Magyk! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Doin alright! how about yourself?
It's wicked hot and humid in CT. It's been like this forever and will continue forever
definition for the 9?
gd evening everybody
Hello rubyfoo! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
Competition or jealousy between 2 or more parties Esprit. Builds off the ri5/16
Hi all. Oh dear, only just been able to start and it's 5.30 in the evening here. Can I get 327 words before bed?
Hello FMitch! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Hello Sally-catlover!How are you? Welcome to the grid
Gremlinn got 327 in 28 minutes. I could not believe it!
I'm fine, but had 7 people to lunch, so 9 including us. Feeling a bit shattered!
minver: did you avoid the pool party?
hi FM and Sally
hi ruby!
And FM!
thinks resire should be a word.. knows lots of old guys hanging out with young girls and having kids again..
eeeew!
yep sure.. but they are wealthy
EWWWW indeed. ruru!
Age ain't nuthin' but a number...
hahah
Think the price is too high, ruru.
hello all.
Nancy Boy! WHAT are you doing awake at this time of day??? I thought vampires were afraid of the light???
lol stid
gm stid
hello stid
hi all
just got back from the vet
hi peri
hey peri
oh peri... (((hugs)))
why.. just the other day I asked a winery owners new young trophy wife how old she was.. and she pumped her hands twice and said "this many!"
I went to the pool party rujbyfoo. It was okay.I came home early and hubby stayed til three in the morning.
the med cost $84.50. that is ten does of the trans dermal gel of the baytril!! yikes. I knew it would be expensive but $8 per does. I almost fainted when I paid for it. sure hope it works
was he dry?
What was the reason for the vet peri?
meds are VERY expensive. We have had to put off pet care sometimes because of it.
Hi stidmama! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
he has a UTI and will not take the pills even if they are crushed up in food
Hi Nancy Boy!How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
she has UTI
any clues for wi6? the last one?
Hi periwinkle! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
how about cream cheese? that's how I give meds to these fussy pups
Cast? Dog?
what is UTI?
HI all, posted a clue and then got side tracked.
don't think cream chees is good for cats
hey FM ((hugs))
since my last post got eaten by the powers that be: even vampires have to cook and eat, Stid ;) I found a great Korean grocery store nearby so I'm finding my feet in the kitchen a little.
urinary tract infection
hi there FM
Urinary Tract Infection I imagine
yummy, Nancy Boy! I'll be right over for supper...
Stiddy!! and hello dear peri, hope kitty will feel beter with the meds (but ouch re the $$).
even a little cream cheese?
thre is an Asian food market not too far from me that is mainly Koren,
KOrean even,
wi double cons + a vowell
and just when I was getting my credit card dept under control :(
sounds austrailian
thanks ruru
Zoe-Anne is a 14 year old cat
119 left and tired of this grid
UTI's are common peri
I have even heard stories of some people losing their house for pets or taking out a 2nd mortgage for pets
I'll warn you now, it's spiiicy ;) I have spent so long trying to find a place that actually sells a decent brand of doenjang, which is a kind of soy paste...makes or breaks the dish.
thank you
yikes Min
save some for me NB, I will be right over
I like spicy
It does go on and on and on peri.
well, I like kimchee, but need a LOT of rice sometimes if it's really hot-spicy
and on.....
I treid kimchees recently and was disappointed
and on :)
I LOVE my cat but not about to go into much more debt
yeah peri..like this grid
Does anyone have a clue for the last wi6/33 word yet
goint to eat some lunch bbs
goint to eat some lunch bbs
Well at least we had a decent size grid to tackle on a Sunday rather than a week day.
what I love in Korean food is all the small dishes -- tiny fish, etc.
what I really like are fermented bean sprouts and there's a little black been that is stil crunchy ... don't know what that one is called though.
its a plural minver
later peri. hope your cat feels better soon.
pl the wi5.20
how about wrapping the meds in anchovy paste?
oh. thanks for that Wi !
How are you stiddy, getting any time to yourself (apart from babble) ;)
yeah.. kind of a anti-biotic caesar salad
yup
lol ruru.
they always say "Just give this to your dog; he'll love it!" NOT
There is some great stuff, but some of the national dishes are actually pretty nasty. I looove what I have for tonight though, doenjang jjigae! Sans anchovies to make it vegan, of course.
not a lot FM, nightmares over student teaching coming up in about 5 weeks and vague nonspecific concerns of all kinds related to parenting. *sigh*
I know what you mean periwinkle. People who had to lose their house was because their dog needed many surgeries to remove cancer or something. Surgeries and the medication is what did them in. I would be so devastated if my dog died because I could not afford to take care of it. What some people will do for their pets. I think in this case dog ended up dying anyway.
and 10 mins later, you hear a little noise in the nexzt room where he's deposited the pill
awe (((stiddy)))
<----- would spend every last penny I have for my pets
Thank you for the wi 6/33 clue. I just found the word
me too, ruru
same here Ru, the cats eat better than I do ;)
see you later
*grin* ruby. our next door neighbour was the only one that could administer pills to our cat but even then we had to wrap him in a towel.
*punishes her monkeys for missing more plural words*
*poof*
calls peta on minver
later ruby!
did anyone read jbp's twenty ways to give a cat a pill yesterday?
wi 6-33 is when plants start to fade out
No, I bet it was a hoot.
Hello toni Glanzer! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
omg.. I was doubled over with laughter it is worth reading
hey toni
missed that one ruru.
was it in her profile ruru?
no.. it popped up as a chat item.. hysterical
OK am going to have to go back and look BRB
jbp if you are out there bring it up again
Hello Minveryork.........I am also a New York person, in NYC and love reading all of your chatters......
Thankstoni Glanzer. You should visit chog more often
I am becoming more and more cyber saavy; however it has been a tediuos journey.
153 left and it's break time. back in a bit.
it can take a while toni
later magyk
Goodbye Magyk! I will see you later on in the chat log
Phantom words for me today are diarrhea & varsities
mine is sterile
Nancy Boy, that doenjang sounds interesting. Not sure I have ever had it!
Guess this must be the link from jbp: http://www.nanceestar.com/CatPill .html
LOL yes it is, back in a mo so I can read it.
Laughing aready and only got to #9.
rofl, that is TOOO funny!
Brill, thanks for mentioning that ruru.
Nothing like a good laugh to get the enomorphines fireing around the body :)
there. down to 100. back again this evening to finish I hope. (((hugs all))) see you again soon! *poof*
Bye stiddy dear.
Goodbye stidmama! I will see you later on in the chog!
<<<---- knows the soggy pill routine too well
isn't it hysterical
So funny because it is so true which make you laugh even more.
I related to several of the items... been ther
been there I mean
crossy is back from spending too much money at the store:)
Hi crossy (()) what have you been buying?
phone cards for cell phones and a new video card for the new computer i built for the mrs;)
you built a computer? I had trouble building a house of cards earlier.
*waiting for the 35- page paper I need to finish printing... one paper down, at least three to find. *sigh*
ah practicalities and necessities.
I bet it's a SCREAMING fast processor, cross!
lol nb..this is my last build im afraid.the technology is far outpacing my ability to keep up
it is an older 755 intel chip stid, but it still tops out at 3.06 gig
Dinner time here, back in a while.
2 gig or ram and 1 gig of video
ok.. I am throwing in the towel.. I am stuck at 234 and need to list now..damn
come back soom fm ((()))
ARGH. tom has been messing with the server so it bogged up the system and STILL didn't print. (argh)
soon even
bye FM.. eat well
I forgot this was a big puzzle; thought I was doing well...
that should be big enough, cross, unless she plays a lot of warcraft or something? *wicked mama grin*
go Nancy Boy go!
Goodbye FMitch! I will see you later on in the chat log
later FM!
she is a sims freak as well as playing oblivion
LOL Stid. Picturing Crossy's wife launching mohawk grenades...sucka.
lol
I don't know oblivion, but tom likes sims
Listing at 234?That is great! I listed at 170 rururocks
LOL just read another funny and can be tied into crossy PC build and the topic of cats ..... http://www.nanceestar.com/CatMan uel.html
there's a manual for cats? *wonders if there is a manual for teens*
How about a manual for hubbys who are a pain in the arse?
There's a manual for coping with teens but it probably involves more heavy drinking than you're comfortable with ;)
PB Min... *points sternly to PB*
*sneaks in lovely choclit with raspberries to PB*
oh Nancy Boy! *stern mama look* roflmao
Any manuals in the Penalty Box stidmama? Thanks!LOL
I want some raspberries! can skip the chocolate...
I think the teen manual and the man manual are the same thing, if Nancy Boy is right...
does anyone have a hint for the r in the bottom right corner?
hey bichon!
can anyone please help me le7 ?
to get up again RE 6/18
and re 7 adds a consonant for a participle
tyvm stid
go bichon go!
again stid
the man manual is easy. you know how software updates on computers have an 'ignore' button? same thing...
don't have that one yet rhonda
The re6/18 word is re plus ri 4/4 word and re 7/28 is re plus ra 5/10 word bichon and welcome back to grid
Rhondabe, I don't think there's an le7
up to 235 and still no list... *sigh*
happy to see you as usual Min and ty
Hi Rhondabe! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
I have 109! but of course spent much of the morning recovering frm a god-awful night shift.
you are right..it is LA7 thanks
I don't think there's an la 7 either
there are li 7's, but alas I don't have any
the li 7 is the most agile
is there more than one li 7?
ah, yes, one is a plural
so sorry.... strike all this . I must be too tired 4 this right now.!!
go red go... ((hugs for night shift))
yes, there is another li 7/28
thanks Stid, night shift not fun lately.
That one I got!!
somehow
I have only a la 6 that doesn't plural
is it because it's summer time? are people doing stoopid things to make the night shift busier?
Hello redturtlehead! How are you?Welcome to the grid
Yes, I had a committed patient escape then call the police to come bak, and in between that a poor lady and a housefire, i can not get the burn smell out of my nose..
red, have you watched "Boston Med"? Lots of ER action and also it's partly at the hospital where River's son had his surgery, Children's Hospital
gee whiz, red.
I hear that, Red. Not that my job is anywhere near as stressful as I imagine yours to be, but sometimes at work I think I might be sleepwalking. It gets to two, three in the morning and I switch to autopilot mode!
I gottta admit Bichon, I never watch those shows. My old ED was on "Trauma Life in the ER" so I usually try to watch soomething less liek my job!
Yes, I sometimes think this particular charge nurse tends to dump stuff on me....
medical shows make me nervous... except house. that one is just funny (peculiar and ha-ha)
For the most part I stopped wathing medical shows around the time of Dr. Kildere [the remake] and Ben Casey.
I used to watch the old ER< but that was sort of like a night time soap opera!...
Is the AC on in the PB?
FINALLY found a word that needed the Z!
oh oh, did I use a word? *checks chog*
I think its on full bast and the cabana boy can bring you a fluffy cold drink. or hot one if you want?
Hello...
hey jellen (((Hugs))) how are you doing today?
hello Jellen.
Much better...relatives on the way home!
I think the cabana boy thing is sexist.. and unbalanced.. if we have cabana boys for you girls and NB.. what about Cabana vixens for me and crossy
Hello Jellen! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
Uh, ruru, We in the PB are your Vixens....you didn't notice?
oh.....
hadn't thought of that..
Ruru's right...Tim would want females in the PB with certain, er, outstanding features...
Well, perhaps we can get a few ladies for you...
I think that's fair enough, Ruru. The amount of times "leis" is featured in the grid, we should have the capacity for some flower garlands and coconut bras.
I don't think it's "ladies" he wants...
<wants plumeria pasties
lol, Sally
I think a coconut bra would be uncomfortable myself.
coconut bras would be VERY uncomfortable for anyone bigger than a training bra...
hard to palm too
snap sally!
pasties with tassels?
I had an acquaintance who wore a coconut bra to a party...she was VERY uncomfortable...
Looon time since I could fit a training bra :-)
Personally, I prefer bird feathers.
down to 86 and my eyes are getting tired. *sigh*
Ruru...lookie no touchie!
hello Judi!
lol! C'mon, I know nothing of this world of female undergarments. Apart from being sneaked into ladies' changing rooms to help friends decide on ensembles...awwwkward.
I think I should list.
Ala Sally Rand, Judi?
Ruru would probably like girls with bacon bras.
I think I might start...
no.. that's crossy
Indeed. (Hello, to all!). Or, we could go all Dorothy Lamour and wear sarongs.
Sorry, meant crossy. Very tired.
I'm getting intimidated by all the lingerie getting thrown around. TIme for dinner I think. Later all...have fun!
that wouldn't be kosher for me sally
*giggle*
lol ruru
Ruru wants to le 4/4 at the gals...
sarongs seem better than coconuts -- and fit the cabana theme...
Jilli's cabana boy was not wearing a sarong...
A sarong is not lingerie. It's more of a mini dress.
you don't have to wear sarongs if you have a cute butt

A mumu sounds very comfortable on a day like today.....as long as there is a pina colada involved.
nbt
I wear kaftans as much as possible
most comfortable

Welcome backruby. Where do you buy your kaftans?
here in the Tuesday market and in Morocco, if I can ever get back (doubtful :()
Long way to go shopping for me!
they are the best! I even have a winter one (maybe it's a djellaba) in lovely plum-colored wool
here it's not so far, but I don't feel like travelling any more. Last time we went, it was so scary that I hired a guide to go shopping
ruru, did you see the BBC article about the world's oldest champagne?? very cool
Will have to look on line, if ever I finish this grid before falling asleep.

Bye judi
hey stid do you go to powell's often
Ruby, how are the lizards? Are you keeping them as pets?
when you have time ruru, just thought of you when I read it.
a couple-few times a year, why?
do you need something from there? do you want to meet for coffee and book discussions?
wait. ruby-lizards-pets???
next time you go.. could you ask one of the people there about this norwegian mystery writer that they have his trilogy
I need the name of the author to buy the books.
they sell them there and they are suppossed to be great
The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo?
Steig Larrson?
oh, I see. do you know a title for any of the books, or ... a time they were written... or?
that's it
Think it's Stiegg
*Tattoo
I am going to order them... they sound sfantastic
Your local bookstore should have them...
*fantastic
*Stieg Larsson
not here jellen
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Stieg Larsson / Knopf Publishing Group
we only have a tiny bookstore here and it is a weird one
Have you seen the movie? It's quite good...
powells.com has free economy shipping right now ruru
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire.
<--haven't read the books yet...
there's also a CD bundle of the trilogy
ordering it today.. should I start with tattoo?
and they have the UK edition if you want... LOL
has anyone read it?
Amazon.com will sell a used copy for a good price
I HAD A BIG DRAMA (AS USUAL, BLUSHING) Thursday 'til yesterday. I thought there were two vipers in my studio but they turned out to be Anguis Fragillis, "slow worms" or legless lizards. They are not venomous.
<---hates snakes
www.betterworldbooks.com has good prices and free shipping too, charity site
and we found the nest under a rock, 4 eggs with live babies in them
oh! that's good that they are not venomous! are they cute?
Oh ruby!! Saw the mention of lizards and wondered what it meant. rofl!!
hey jessmom
not as cute as other snakes -- no patterning, just shiny brown
They are great books. I highly recommend them. The subtitled movie is really good as well. The second movie just came out but I haven't seen it yet.
wow. eggs! that's a real find, ruby
They are very good for the garden. I hope you didn't kill the parents?
hi stid
Dragon is the first, I believe, ruru
one was half dead already, but we killed the other one when we still thought it was a viper. Just because of the dogs.
Often find slow worms in compost bins, heaps.
We have tons of other lizards, but these were very big, like 18"
Ooooh ruby! Very sad.
the politically correct thing to say would be speed challenged worms
I'm not afraid of snakes, but husband stepped up and overcame his terrible fear to protect our dogs.
What on earth made you think they were vipers? They aren't at all alike.
but they look like snakes, very interesting
ruby, have you heard more from river?
They wouldn't have hurt the dogs you know.
LOL ruru!
that's too bad ruby.
their heads are pointy and there are only 2 kinds of snakes in this region, vipers (very common with a pointy head and the same size as these) and coulouvre (sp?) very big and non-venomous (not so common)
do you have vipers in that part of france?
Would love to have slow worms in our garden. We only have grass snakes, and love to see them.
Vipers would, though, their bite is lethal for dogs and other animals.
Grass snakes are really pretty.
Keith is going to be OK! The operation was a success and once they follow him for a couple of months, he should be good as new!!!!
If you have a Kindle, I think I can send the Larsson books to you - or if you want to read them on the computer.
Keith?
I like to hold books in my hand
thank you though
Ruby tried to get at one of these which is why husband killed it. He was afraid she'd get bitten. From what I've read (since) slow worms will bite if trapped
river's son who had the heart surgery
do they bite slowly?
yeeees
Ah thank you. Knew son had had surgery, but not his name.
I was surprised that they bite. Other lizards are very shy. Slow worms will shed their tails when caught, also.
brb...
we don't kill anything in the garden, have a little colony of very cute field mice, lizards, bees, bats (from a cave up above us), and we don't use insecticides
yes! down to 80 and still listless.
Well you'll know another time to just release them into the garden.
I also rescue bees if they get in the house
yes, for sure. But I had heard so much about vipers, that I didn't look them up fast enough
How did you find out you were mistaken about the vipers?
ah, the printer is working again! :-D
I'm life president of the Slow Worm In Fatal Trouble Society. We call ourselves Swifts for short.
lariet
when we found the eggs and I remembered that vipers were viviparous. Then husband googled reptiles and amphibians of the alps and VOILA he found a photo of the exact creatures
Been working on that one in secret, have you Haz?
hello haz!
Poor babies.
I've had time...
very funny, haz
hey haz!
sorry--at least it wasn't a word
Hello!
did it work Kateq?
I used to have a very large spider just outside that I would feed flies
I was hoping it was a word as I still need 148!
nope--the l's are driving me mad
it was an argiope and I named her Caliope
that's funny ruby... we have house spiders that I protect fiercely while they are sitting on their egg sacs, then twice a year when it's not too cold we get all the cobwebs down. We don't have many problems with indoors insects.
Greetings all!
Hello FM!
hey again FM
my only decent word is le4/5
Evening HAz ;)
Hallo FM.
argiopes are multi-colored with spots and stripes
hello FM
Hi, FMitch
Hi, Haz!
Hi sally and stiddy and ruby et al.
Would a moaning dervish be a wh7 who wh6/33?
Did you have a good lunch with the family Haz?
Hello, Jellen.
unfortunately, we also get large black spiders in the house sometimes that jump and don't build webs. I don't like them so much.....
listing. 79. need to take the long-legged stidkid (indicates photo) for new jeans. apparently he has only three pair that are "public worthy" at the moment!
Yes, it was fine, just settling down again to finish this.
LOL Haz!
lol Haz I think he would be.
He'd have cause to moan if he had motion sickness, I suppose.
Thanks for the wh7 and wh6, Haz
haha, I just got it, talk about slow worms....
Slow coach, ruby, slow coach.
You're welcome, Jellen.

brb
First three letters, to make a mistake, then word for a clue but change the last consonant to a vowel.
Haz's clue is better :-)
er 7/32 means promoting or inducing nasal discharge
Put definition in reverse dictionary and it is #7 on list
Thanks, got it!

Look on your car ru, for a help with the radio
ae plus the mixed up letters of one who tells untruths.
Hi, helensgirl
Ruru probably is too young to remember antennas on the roof tops :) Hello everyone
They still have them on cars - old cars, no doubt!
Hello, Mom!
Oh, Mom, what are you looking for from ruru?
thanks..
But they so often use th an7 word instead now.
{{Jellen}} hello, are you refreshed from yesterday?
I remember the ae's on the top of the TV -we used to call them rabbits ears....
Much better, Mom!
Hi Haz, oh nothing, nothing at all
oh Soodle, I remember those
so glad to hear that Jellen
Just got FIREWORKS - finally abandoned preconceived notions about the wi8!
congrats Helensgirlkid
Yay, helensgirl!!!
BBL-watching a DVD with Tim and bro...
bye bye Jellen
Believe it or not there are still people out there using rabbit ears - I found that out by hearing all about how to adjust the rabbit ears for the new digital signals (good luck, basically). They were a pain. There was one station we had to have someone stand next to the TV and touch (not hold, just touch) the top of one of them!
geez, Helensgirlkid, I can believe it. I told my sweetie last night these new HD TV's remind me of the olden days ..... turn them on and wait for them to warm up
But from reports from my ex-husband, satellite dishes are just as bad, only you have to go up on the roof to wiggle them.
That was back in the days when the youngest person in the house WAS the remote control. 'Go and change the station', 'Go and turn the volume up' etc....
absolutely Soodle.
lol Soodle!
back then you could eat while watching tv, you got the exercise from changing the channels
Have you noticed, mom, - a glitch in the signal used to be a sort of wobble in the picture, maybe a little hiss or buzz in the sound; now the picture freezes and the sound doesn't come back for a second or two after the picture does.
I remember our 1st remote conrol for the video and TV - it had a 15 foot lead on it.
yes I have noticed that
I WAS that remote control....
wow, FMitch
lol Soodle
lol FM
Oh, yes, and "go and twiddle the vertical control - no, no , too much, no , back again. Try the horizontal."
oh and the video was betamax.
ar 7 anyone?
Then colour came in, and after you got the picture to stand still on the screen, you could try to get it to be less green, or purple.
ar 7 and departures at the airport Ruru
opp of departure ruru
The ar7 of the Queen of Sheba
ar7 - the opposite of departure.
ar 7 - when your flight finally lands
OH jeez.. *smacks head*
*lobs tuna in rurus direction*
I remember watching B&W tv, through the coloured celophane paper of chocolates, thinking 'Wow' This is colour TV.
LOL!
The purple ones from Quality Street, and old Lucozade bottles!!
OK, who else saw that early 3D movie where the car on the roller coaster came right out and landed in your lap?
The 1st TV prog I remember seeing in colour was 'Bewitched'
Or very old Coke bottles
and as the credits started as a cartoon I thought it was great until Mum said it was bath time and the rest of the prog was real people. I was so disapointed.
we didn't have a color tv until 1972, by then pretty much everything was color.
I liked Bewitched
until Dick Sargeant came on as Darrin
I remember going to a neighbour's to watch the coronation on a tiny TV in black and white. There were about 20 of us piled into their sitting room. First TV I ever saw.
Of course, for a couple of years we had a TV with NO picture - we used it as an alarm clock. Turned it on with the sound way up on the way to bed (we could sleep through the hiss easily) and the science class blasted us out of bed at 6 am. Then we had a baby, and didn't need an alarm clock any more.
rofl henensgirl!
funny, helens!
hello all
Where I grew up, bath night was Saturday - whether you were dirty or not. Batman used to be on the TV, and after baths, all us kids used to tuck the towels down our collars, and charge up and down the road, going Dana dana dana etc...the batman theme tune!!
lol Soodle
We watched the coronation standing on the street outside a furniture store downtown - with a couple of hundred other people, little kids on shoulders, much jostling for position, and much arguing about who was which - no sound, of course!
Gage was just 'swimming' in the bathtub
Did you work out who was Queen?
I had better scoot off here, I have a watermelon to cut up. Thanks for all the memories. {{Hugs}} to all of you
Bye Mom.
{{Soodle}} bye bye
Bye Mom
bye {{{mom}}}
Bye bye FMitch
Important to be able to distinguish between the Queen and the Archbishop of Canterbury
Hello all!
{{M9}}} hi and bye
bye mom
esp as he has the taller headgear :)
hi nonnie!
I expect Prince Philip knows the difference.
Watched the fireworks at the end of the show at the Stampede last night (from the roof) and saw they are using a lot of strong spotlights this year - anybody else remember all those war surplus anti-aircraft spotlights that showed up for big used car sales and opening new supermarkets all through the 1950s?
Hi Nonnie and m9
I remember the spotlights, helen.
hi FM
I guess as those wore out, the cost of new ones was way too high. I assume that the Stampede has discovered that new technology brought them back down.
We would "follow" the light to see what the event was.
hi, babblers (helen, another calgarian!)
hello welki
Hi Babblers ! Hope you all are having a nice Sunday..
hello aloy!
Aloy!!!!!!!! Hello there :)
As a sales gimmick, they were good - drew people in as you say, and you could find the sale, or opening, or whatever, easily. Hi welki
Hello, Aloy.
hey aloy!
thins
Hallo aloy
oops
i live in the southeast, helen, and work downtown
er... points m9 to the PB
not only that..it's a word I got last night....
nice to "see" you all! Was going to "peek" at the flip, stayed up way too late.. but now that I have my kitchen chores done, it is Babble time!
I'm in Beidgeland - good place for watching fireworks without buying tickets.
Hi to all who entered while I was playing "Family Feud"
HAz, looks like you aer due more rain tomorrow - could yo chuck it my way? (just watching the forecast) and we are due to go tropical again :(
there is a cabana boy in a seethrough sarong serving fluffy drinks there m9
Bridgeland - definitely not beige
i'm struggling to get halfway
yuck!
I could do without the rain, we can negotiate, FM.
<<<<<doesn't drink and not particularly into cabana boys....
lol, ruru.. you are distracting me!
Well, for heaven's sake, ru, drag that poor caban boy out of there!
not beige?
now if my husband was home from work......
It's a real slog today.
Anything you want Haz.
Mistyping of Bridgeland as Breidgeland!
ruru, my cabana boys have a strict dress code.
He's wearing a dress?
ohhh ... i didn't even notice the typo :)
ru wears dresses?
lol
...not that there's anything wrong with that
h'mm, a short sarong could be akin to a loin cloth?
I'd better go eat something - I'm getting light headed. Back later for clues, I hope
ruru doesn't look good in high heels though - I had to stop him doing that.
it's not hunger .. it's the imagery of ru in a sarong that's making you lightheaded
heigh ho, it's hot as he** here...
Sally-catlover I'd re 4/4ly like you to join me in the PB
Hello, Dorens.
what'd you do FM.. TRIP him??
Uh oh. Looks back in shog.

*takes pumps off * that FM..she doesnt' know fashion
I think he fell of his platforms m9
Hi Dorens.
Splutter. I mean chog. Oops. Slinks off to look at cabana boys.
I'm well. Staying in AC&babbling all day or until I finish
Great Dorens and how are you?

my ac is protesting... it is working hard, but can't seem to cool house down below 79 right now. still, it's better than outside, even in the shade
yay fireworks and on that note I must wish you all a good day or night. Happy Babbling and see you on the morrow.
Love your grandma quote, Nonnie
yay FM!
Bye, FM!
Bye FM
... a gownless evening strap? (that's what my grandmother would say scantily clad women were wearing if they revealed too much skin)
of course today was the day we cleaned out the garage - hard work and high heat don't go well together
yay for FM, congrats! and bye till next time.. hagd (( ))

they were very proud... showed us their knots too
did they get a captain's hat for graduation?
yep, learned the nautical terms too
they got miniature sunfish, the little boats they sail...
My nieces and nephews are taking kyaking lessons & they are 7 and 10 years old. I never did anything like that when I was young.I just did the usual swimming, piano lessons,& tennis lessons. Didn't like any of them
they loved it, mostly tipping each other over in the boats I think
wow, what is the weight limit for a mini sunfish?
saw pics with an adult and kid on at once
here is what it looks like
http://shop.torresen.com/ships_store/i ndex.php?p=details&mfc=Sunfish&sku=SF- 001-05&frm=g

Hi Atalante! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
She is indeed. She's staring at her as we speak, in the manner of an adoring spaniel.
awwwwwwwww
no problemo, i'll come into the pb with you.. didn't know you were there though
read back in the log, doren ;)
I am not scared of snakes. I am scared of spider webs
oh lord, how far back? it must be a long one with this many words and it being sunday and all
3 days.
oh...... yes indeed
Haz can count the hours LOL
ruby thought there were two "vipers" in the house. Her husband killed one, then they found out it was a slow worm and found the nest with babies in.
i still don't know what a slow worm is. guess i
Nicely summed up, Sally.
i'll go google that too
Can you get slow glow worms? Or go slow worms (ones that are on strike?)
Slow worms are legless lizards and are brilliant for the garden. I have a feeling they are endangered in the UK, but not sure. We would /love/ to have them in our garden, but although we do have grass snakes we have never seen a slow worm.
go slow glow worm
yes. just read they are a protected species in the UK
the german for glowworm is gluwurmchen
We do however have glow worms :-)
and their biggest predators are house cats... no wonder i haven't seen any... with my two ferocious felines
I am NOT getting at ruby here but I do think it is a shame when things get killed through ignorance.
I'm surprised the German word isn't longer. They haven't really put their backs into it at all.
it is unfortunate
ruby, if you read this I am NOT getting at you.
her husband killed them not ruby
hah, true haz.. german words can get particularly unwieldy to the non german speakers
there is an umlaut or two that I couldnt put on
oh then it's ok. nobody likes her husband, least of all her
where would you wear an umlat?
A u with an umlaut is all that an exotic dancer needs.
Hello, all.
Vicuna! Hello!
hi vi, how are you?
VIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111!!!!!!IIIIII!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You'd wear it wh5 you um
(Two exclamation marks. You are privileged)
Let's face it, I knew Ata would over-compensate.
shudda had an umlat for breakfast
How is everyone? I'm sorry I started this grid, but I'm committed now.
once i went to the list it came very quickly... 5 evasive words left now
Hello Vicuna! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Yeah, I think I'll list early on this one. I need to crank through it and get on to other stuff.
I'm well, Vicuna.
ruru's been finding it difficult. Not that I'm one to gossip, or anything.
ooo christmas decorations!
the 1st 2/3 of this one sped by
yes some nasty words...
I am grid-challenged
there are always a couple of nasty words ru.. it wouldn't be babble without them
lovely pic of half dome, ruru
I'm just tickled to find my usual garb, along with the pearls.
I'm at 2/3 now and at the point where I realize that there are still as many left as an entire grid, and these are only the ones I haven't seen easily.
it is isn't it ata
yes, it is
Well you are joint Queen, aren't you Haz? Fitting garb indeed.
Absolutely.
you just need a corgi
Your usual garb, Haz? Tiara isn't there.
joint queen?
a kilt.
Imagining haz in jamaica
Chog ate the word "and"
negril
Daywear, Vi. The tiara goes on in the evening. tw7 - you have your very own version.
Would be too hot for this garb in Jamaica
ahhh, excellent clue! lol
Do you have the sensible shoes as well Haz?
can't believe an evasive word for me was what we did when the joint that went out
The TOG will be glad to know they have featured today.
is the bottom i word obvious?
not really
Sensible as can be, but I do change my hairstyle rather more often.
ir 6
ty ruru *looks*
i'm convinced the ir6 is a myth
the ir6 is an "un" word.
I am not faking that ata
think we had it recently... i intuitively went to that when looking for the bottom i
LIke those vipers.
A re4 word, but an un- word.
aha! ty dc!
*note to self.. to buy a snake book for ruby's husband*
how do i download Babble Expert? I have it on my desktop but want it on my laptop.
um, ur welcome, ata, though i meant what i said literally.

lol it worked though!
something kept ds
wi 8/75 is wi 4/9 word plus he 4/6 word dspike and hi

ty
ar 7/40 please?
Hello dpomfr! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
oh, a myth indeed!
Congratulations dspike on your fireworks! Way to go
ar7 - not a departure.
The ar7/40 word is the opposite of departure Dorens
thanks haz.. think that is fishworthy
*hands fish to dorens*
Wow, thanks for all these fabulous words!
That was way too twisty to be fishworthy.
thanks ruru. and that is fireworks
ah, and thanks vic.. feel much better
too big for me today. I only start ones of under 200
Well done, Dorens!
Congratulations Dorens on your fireworks! Way to go
down to.... 120
sheesh
Yay for Doren!
yay doresn
dorens
pam calls me doresn deliberately, kj
and i don't care what you all call me. my name is doren and people are always calling me doreeeen
lol - sounds like pam
Hello again!
i think she once did it by mistake and i told her i didn't mind as long as she didn't call me doreeeen
hi jellen
like she doesn't want to be called pammy - lol
Hello, Jellen.
hey jell!
Hello Jellen! How are you? Welcome back to the chog!
hi, jellen. things going well for yall/
Hello, Jellen. Hello, kje.
Yes, dc...Tim's resting...
Oops, killed the chog...

Hi, JBV
Hello JBV! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle!
Hello, JBV.
hi min, vi, kje, jellen, seain, doren, ruru - busy time for babble
sorry did I miss anyone?
Hello, JBV.
hey jbv.. listing really makes this go much faster
Cough.
If i'm not at halfway by 5:00, i'll open the list
oh, Sally! hi!
Hi everyone! Could I get a clue for the second st 7/28? I have 56 to go and it is slow going!
and Haz!
:-)
i didn't scroll down far enough
It's okay. I'll dry my tears and will soon get over my feelings of hopeless rejection.
Hello cbr1965!How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
st4 like you make a car go round a corner, but spelt differently * not ut
PB for haz!!! I don't think I have ever seen that
poor unloved Haz :P
Sheesh. plus not out
Entrapment.
st 7/28 is st plus hearing organ plus not out cbr1965.
Hi, cbr
lol

Even more rejected now. Ignored and then sent to the PB. Have you people no heart?
Bye Dorens
bye doren
Bye Dorens.
oh, ((((((haz)))))))) that's heart!
bye dorens
Thanks, ya'll! Good to see everybody!
Goodbye Dorens! I will see you tomorrow in the chog!
bottom i?
I've always thought you were a good woman, Dorens.
Must go and shut up chooks and read them a bedtime story. Back in a sec. Have to keep amending my words so as not to include one!
ir6 - but, oh wait, if I'm in PB I can't give kje any clues, can I?
yes.... clues are allowed... just no enjoyment
and TY
You're welcome (through gritted teeth and hurt looks)
go enjoy yourself in the hot tub, haz... we won't tell hubby about the cabanna boy
no enjoyment in the PB? PFFT ! What of the cabana boys?
That's okay Haz1558!I have been cluin from the PB all day today.I was sent there early this morning by stid
Hi, pugmama
How can the cabana boys do anything but enjoy themselves with such luscious women as we to attend to?
she is a newbie to the PB - rookie error pouting instead of reveling in sin
hi jellen etal
Hi pugmama! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
OK, need a break... will be back after a nap
Minver, how was the pool party?
no word from haz, I think she found the hot tub
Bye, kje. My time in PB is up, I don't believe in staying any longer than necessary.
Looks like need to stay inside the Penalty Box since I just revealed another word; the se 4/4 word. Oops!
Maybe she found the cupboard where FM was keeping George.
Goodbye kje! Have a good nap. I will see you later on.
*oops, I may have said too much*
George is testifying in a court case.
FM stole george?
In her dreams.
She was keeping him in a cupboard in the PB, in the certainty that Haz would never go in there.
how many w8 or higher w words are there? I only have the wi8/75.
also, hi all
Hi, Minski
fun grid. I have 183 words without listing and with very few clues.
The pool party was ok. I swam a little.I left the party early and hubby stayed til 3:00 in the morning I think
Just the one w8 word, though a fair smattering of w7.
Hello Minski! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
That is the only one, I think, and I don't have it yet! :(
I have all but 5 of the W words. any weird w words I probably wouldn't find?
wi8/75 word is wi 4/9 word plus he 4/6 word cbr1965
Back.
wi5/18 is wi plus double hook letters plus vowel Minski
I have that one. am missing 5 others and listing that many words would take forever.......
Hi Sally-catlover! How are you? Welcome back to grid!
wi6 on the vine shortens to wi5
Only been gone for 10 minutes :-)
thanks, seain, that gave me li 5 also :)
1st wh5 is as in for the common we4
thanks dcseain. didn't have those 2.
oh! and li 6!
Thanks Minski!
clue for the lone e and the lone i please for nbt
Hi lbdawger! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
el 4/5
ir + not fake
el4 - Spanish way of saying hello? (babblet)
i'd be doing better if there were only 258 words today. have 69 left
ty jellen
I have all the Wi words!
that el 4 is one of my pet peeve words - spent my entire professional career in education and never saw or heard that word except here in Babble!
ello? hmmm, thinking on that one, haz.
lbdawger - clue for e is "one or the other." The i is in that word.
And hi, lbd!
oh! got it, thanks, has and jbv
el plus a short greeting.
I've seen it, but only hyphenated
and ty too, cbr
nbt, 67 left...going to get the list
Nailed the Ws!!!!! All 39 of the suckers!!!!
wtg, Minski!
Wonderful Minski!
wtg, minski
is it bad that i'm planning on making chocolate chip muffins for dinner?
very sensible dc!
evening all :-)
only if you don't stock the pb with the leftovers
As long as they're accompanied by milk, you are good!
No, DC. It's not bad. Certainly no worse than eating an entire tub of ice cream for supper.....
Hi, Katie
Hello, Katie.
katie!
i usually wrap leftovers in a towel for later :)
Hello KatieMcG! How are you doing? Welcome to grid!
hey folks
hi, katie
2nd hi6 pls
ice cream is a breakfast food in my world :)
wb, peri

torn between trying the new paint for the spare room and babble, looks like babble has won!
rhymes with a season, peri
Hello periwinkle! How are you? Welcome back to grid!

Hi everyone, my goodness I still have 107 left, I have been here all day almost
Hi, ren
me too, ren, exactly 107 left
Hello, ren.
I'm looking for 7 more, then I'll go to the list
I'm heading off, so I'll say toodle-oo. See you tomorrow!
bye, Haz
bye haz tc
Hello ren8! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
Hi, Jellen, JBV and Haz. Night Haz

G'night, Haz
Bye - *gone*
hi, ren8
Hi minver
cbr, add double cons and vowel
wi + double consonant + first vowel
wi 5/18 is wi + double hook letters plus vowel cbr1965
Hi dcseain
ir6 pls
ir6 pls
mythic or non-extant, peri
ir + not fake
baking question, if using powdered milk instead of fresh, i should add it to flour then mix in water?
ok, 100 left, time for the list
hm. muffins barely get mixed, so probably should mix it up first.
make it into milk, then add it, I would think
That ir 6/18 word is i plus the re 4/4 word periwinkle
yeah, kinda what i decided, ty ata :)
you needed to ask before Haz left :P She would have known for sure!
Vs greyed out. 126 left to go. inlaws arriving momentarily for dinner. guess must go prepare it. ttfn.
Phew! Fireworks.
well doen Sally!!!
Stupendous, Sally!!!
congrats, sally!
Later, Minski...
congrats sally
googled about the milk. I'll mix it first, and add a touch more butter.
makes sense
Curious. Why the dried milk? Is it just that you've run out of fresh?
exactly, sally, no fresh nor buttermilk, but there is powdered.
and i don't want to go out :)
yay, sally!
Used to love buttermilk. Had it in Holland and got hooked. Haven't had that for ages.
i normally use buttermilk in my baking, or add vinegar to fresh milk
That reminds me...need to get powdered milk...dietician said to add to milkshakes for Tim
that makes sense, dense calories and some protein
wi 6/30, please?
Evening night afternoon babblers again, I am here to attempt to find 158 more words, and of course for chatting. How is everyone?
it's cold in wi6/30
hi, red, well thanks, you?
Cold season
hi red
Augh! Thank you, dc and Sally
Hi, red
And plural
And here's a fish :-)
I'm happy...Tim's family left today :-)
I'm alright, very tired, work was difficult last night, now got coffee and am planning a heart unhealhty dinner of eggs, as I also do not want to go out!
yay, routine restored! :)
it's hot enough here that the AC has not shut down for the last 3.5 hours
We are average Hot 91 degrees and some sort of humidity. I have the ac set at a conservative 78.
exactly the same here, red :)
wi 5/20, first? Is it a fish?
same here
drop a letter from wi6 on the vine
I think in Florida, though we expect it.
it's normal for here, but doesn't mean we like it :)
Thanks, have that one, dc...
nm, got it!
Well, THis is preferable to the low temps we had this w***** which were rather unexpected.
clue, pls, jellen?
Must go and get some sleep. Night all and thanks for chat.

g'night sally
Wi*** a sword
G
G'night, Sally
*Gone*
stuck my head out the sliding door -- low humidity today, feels to be only in the low-mid 80% range
thanks Jellen, didn't have that one
We are usually high in the am, in the 80-90 percent range and then it burns off and by afternoon we are down to the 60% mark, but its so hot...
hi babies
wi*** a sword. hmm...
W's whacked!
hi, sammys
Wi + respect your ***ers, dc
Hi, sammys
still 73 left, bbs
Oh Apple is in for his dinner :-) I like to know he has had a meal a day as I am not sure there isn't two ginger cats and I am feeding the wrong one outside
I have 6 wi5/20's and not done with W's yet
oh, wow, ty. been a while since i've seen that with sword :)
Later, peri

Good Job Dc.
and discovered new neighbors moving in diagonally opposite into number 201
Hope they are going to be nice.
DC what is thelatest on TOm's health if I can ask?
right now, they're tired :) still carrying stuff up, apparently by the carful
Tom -- relapse of the HOCUM, pain issues galore -- separate from the HOCUM, but otherwise well.
hey, cool, Seain! We're getting new neighbours upstairs, really sweet couple, had them over for dinner today
i think he has an appt in near future with cardiologist.
nice, NB
Hope they can arrest the problem.
Today, (for the first time) I entered the words into Lickety - how do I move them over or I need to print it and type them all into Babble? I guess I should have read the instructions first!
me too. He's really down in the dumps with the 20 gradient, up from zero 6wks post-op
new neighbors - sounds interesting
hi NB
buttons at the top, cbr, if you're using expert
my brain is out of order today.... ei 6/21??
if just using lickety, need to type them into babble
Hi, NB
ei6/or
Hi, JBV and Jellen :)
whatcha eatin' in the photo, NB?
I don't even see an option for expert on Lickety so I guess I'm not one. I just see the bulk add/grab button.
Looks like noodles to me, but anyone's guess ;) looks like I was enjoying it though...very focused!
then you're using lickety. there is a link to email him for Expert, off to the right. PC only for Expert
fireworks!
thanks dc.. see what i mean?...... it was right there in front of me and i could not see it.. partial brain melt , i think
Exactly, NB, nice photo
congrats, jbv
congratulations JBV!
crop the plate out and it looks like you're studying calculus, NB :)
I already e-mailed him about the beta (just didn't know it was called expert). Thanks - guess my fingers will be tired!
thanks, everyone - lots of help from Lickety and more words
down to 59 now, getting there slowly but surely
pneu is a weird word for tire :)
not to the French... what made you think of that?
(or tyre for you brits)
Thanks, Seain :) and LOL, JBV - very little chance of that. I used to be good at maths at school, but since leaving I can just about do basic arithmetic!
{{{{NB}}}}
i was reading about Paris Métro, and they have trains of class matériel pneu and matériel fer
Hey, Katie! How are you? :)
hmm, leisure reading or are you translating something?
leisure reading that started at a blog post about Line 1
good thanks, you?
Late congrats, JBV!
thanks, Jellen - did you have a spa day yesterday?
I'm not too bad, thank you :) just 'recovering' - long day!
Yes, JBV...it was lovely!
wonderful - you deserve it!
oooh, glad you enjoyed, Jellen!
gosh first run through and I still have 41 left, no chance of fireworks tonight
you can do it, Katie -
you can do it with list, katie!
Pedi/mani and a massage...I highly recommend periodic visits to the day spa!
Oh I wish, Jellen! Would love that..
kablooie! whew! ty for the clues!
I've been gardening today so aching all over (photos on facebook if people want to look) and am going to bed at a reasonable time
weather va6 by latitude and altitude.
congrats, dawg!
nice one, lbd :)
clue for the ae please
ae6 photography, as from a helicopter
hi there everyone! I haven't played in about a year but I've come back for some word torture
Well welcome back, Quick :)
Hi, Quick...welcome back!
Hello Quick! How are you doing? Welcome to the chog
oh, my, what a lot of TWs i nae hae
ty DC
howdy, quick, welcome back
seain, that was weird, I was just looking at a satellite photo on google earth, when you gave that clue!
thanks!
Oh whoo Hooo! We are getting a tax holiday for back to school! So I will be getting some new clothing. and also other "stuff"
hi quick!
very nice, red!
happy days red :-)
last year they cancelled it, so this year, i plan to do s bit more shopping...
I am exchanging photos and such with my new "pen pal" (email pal) in Italy - so we are looking up each other's houses on google earth - so amazing
Wow, am I rusty!
must go make meatloaf for dinner. bbl to chat and clue.
ohh, fantastic, JBV! family ties, or an aid to learning the language?
i keep being amazed by the technology we have - we actually had our first SKYPE video call - i still can't believe it!
I just came back from 2nd walk with dog and it's just as hot as the first walk, if not hotter. When will it end
Later, lbd
Goodbye lbdawger! I will see you later in the chat log!
it's my cousin, NB, and I am getting to meet his whole family, kids, grandkids, etc. - haven't seen him in 37 years
enjoy dinner!
I feel the same way, Minveryork. I'm in TX
hasta, dawg
JBV, that's fantastic! I love hearing about this - so happy for you :)
Well Minver I expect it too cool off in October...
thanks, NB, it's really exciting!
but for you probably September, as you are in NY!
it cools off in Oct or early Nov around here.
Ahh, but I just looked out and thunderbumper is brewing so maybe we will get 2-3 degrees cooler...
You're telling me it's exciting! Really good to hear it's moving forward, too; hope this is the start of something amazing!
well, I'm not getting ahead of myself, NB, although his last email just invited me and my whole family to visit them!
they live in one of the most beautiful places on earth - the foot of the Italian alps, near Torino
very nice, jbv :)
I think you should make some visiting plans, jbv, it would be a real experience!
one step at a time, red, but don't think I haven't already considered it
Well take it at the pace that feels right, JBV, but know that my fingers are firmly crossed for you :)
i'm so glad I'm retired, I have nothing but time to devote to reading and studying Italian right now
thanks, NB, looks like we both have a big family event in the future
Yeaaah, but I'm trying not to think about mine ;)
ok, forget I said anything :)
It's only because I'm so scared! Really excited, of course, and so glad I have this opportunity, but I'm terrified as well.
understand completely
NB, thinking on visiting family on Korea?
clue for the first in5/20 please
wow, ti6 was first made of shredded silver in Germany in 1610
Well Seain, for my birthday, a lot of my friends grouped together and bought me a trip back to South Korea...so I can tell my family that I'm, like, alive.
in5 - a smallish waterway
So basically they bought me a can of worms and a tin opener ;)
wow that is fantastic NB
Wow, NB!
ty dc, I'm having a thick night but am now down to 33 to go
that was sweet of them, though, my what a mixed bag for you. *hugs*
Yeah, they are great people :) thanks, Seain! But, I don't want to steal JBV's thunder :P and I am definitely not getting my hopes up, so...
did the trip include a hotel for you?
are you going alone NB?
Well hopefully, hopefully, hopefully, I will be able to stay with family. If not, I'm pretty good at travelling on the cheap ;)
:) may it pass well for you
And yeah, JBV - couple of people offered to come with me, but not sure how fair it'd be to them. Whatever happens I'd be an emotional wreck, plus I'd have to be travelling quite a lot there - starting where most of my family is in Seoul, but going from there...
i'm sure it will all work out, NB - your profile quote will see you through
well, you can always log on and check in here for moral support
indeed, as JBV said :)
when are you planning to go NB?
well, thank you both :) I'm very deliberately not hoping for too much though - I'm hoping a few of the cousins in my generation might understand, though.
Erk, Katie. In about a month.
good luck with it, I am sure it will be better than you think
oh, NB, quasi-randomly, there are several Korean Chung Dae Churches around here. Do you know what that is? I know Christian, but where in the protestant spectrum?
19 to go victory is in sight!!
thanks :) I can't even describe how I feel about it, honestly!!
go, go Katie, form of victory!
Hm, not to sure about that, Seain! My family are Buddhist Koreans, so that's all I really have experience of...could try and find out when I'm there, though!
er, too sure, that is.
have to go cook - is it a coincidence I chose to make zuccini and spaghetti??? have fun everyone, see you later or tomorrow
*zucchini, of course
ah, it's type of Presbyterianism :)
enjoy teh squasch and pasta :) jbov
jbv
and it's unique to North America -
Probably wouldn't hurt for me to brush up on stuff like that ;) I'm already learning Korean like crazy.
I live near Annandale, VA, which has more signage in Korean than in English in it.
really, Seain? I didn't know there was such a Korean community near you! I was excited just to discover a Korean supermarket near me ;)
could I please have a clue for the first la 5/10 - down to 11 now
i have 4 korean supermarkets and 2 24hr restaurants w/in 30 min of here i'm sitting
I don't have it, but go go Katie!
la - add mr. onassis
l + double first vowel + time to **se and shine
howdy, river
ty both
hello dcs
hi river
la 5/10:l + double vowels + smallest state abbreviated
Hiya Katie
(((HUGS))) to my boy NB
Greetings Min
sounds great! I miss eating a lot of Korean food; we had a lot of it at home....made some this evening and the flavours made me feel really nostalgic
(((River))) :) thanks for those! how are you?
Hello Riverdance! How are you doing? Welcome to grid
Is there some secret to the lower right R? I can't find any of them! I thought I was getting them but then noticed they were assigned to a different R!
well, if ever you can make it to the Washington, DC area, not only can we show you the town, but can take you to our Little Korea in the Suburbs
must be cbr because I dont have any yet and only have 41 to go
Morning everyone. I can 't cope with these newish US abbreviations. What is VA and what is the smallest state?
That re 8/40 word is re plus an ar 6/18 word cbr1965
VA is Virginia and Rhode Island (RI) is the smallest state
Would love that - something tells me Little Korea would be easier to handle than the Big Korea ;)
Hello lynxxx! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
though Delaware (DE) is tiny, too.
Hi, River and lynxxx
I only have 37 to go and can't find them even specifically focused on them!
LOL NB
VA in some contexts is the US Veterans Administration
ar7 clue please (down to 7)
usually as the VA
TY DC
Hi Jellen
Deleware is tiny, but it isn't the tiniest state dcseain.
ar7 and departure
coming into airport
correct, as i noted :) i ack'd RI first, then a hat tip to our local tiny one
thank you dc, I may never get the smell of fish off me lol
Thanks Min!
That ar 7/40 word is opposite of departure KatieMcG
yw
That re 7/28 word is re plus an ra 5/10 word cbr1965
doing some stuff for work, Lyn?
The re6/18 word is re plus ri 4/4 word and re 7/28 is that re 6/18 word plus a single hump letter cbr1965.
and lynxx -- http://www.usps.com/ncsc/lookups/abbr_ state.txt is a useful reference.
No DC, just started again and was looking at the chat. The postal abbreviations are sometimes quite bewildering to non US people
yes, and we forget that sometimes :">
I have to look them up wh** they come up in chat
I didn't even know Rhode Island was a State! doesn't sound like it should be
for most states, abbrev is 1st and last letters, though there are exeptions like TX (Texas)
the M states are also confusing
Rhode Island, formally the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, is a tiny state bought from the natives by people that left Massachusetts back when. It has some islands, largest of which is Block Island, but is mostly on the mainland
help with ne7 please
That ne 7/32 word is ne*****/nor Riverdance.
MA - massachusetts, MD- maryland, ME - maine, MI - michigan, MN - minnesota, MO - Missouri, MS - mississippi, MT - montana. they are confusing
thanks Min - been looking forever
where's the e in Maryland?
oh never mind
You are welcome & do not forget to remove the N to get another ei 6/21 word Riverdance..
clue for the st7 please (3 left)
Hiya, Ruru :)
st7 - like a cattle, and not out
a robber is the st 7
st 7/28: st plus listening organ plus not out KatieMcG
Go KatieMcG go!
hi NB
No-one ever spells the States out anymore? it seems to be lacking in pride if you know what I mean and your State names are quite lovely - unlike ours
ty dc & Min (2 left)
we usually only spell them out the first time in an article, and most never spell them out informally.
two-word states take 1st letter of each word
Just spelling some of the states can be a challenge so it is easier to just use the state abbreviations lynxxx
states...we only get counties, what a cheat!
massachusetts and mississippi and illinois are hard for most to spell, for example
I get confused with our counties NB just like you may with our states.
UK>Nation>County. US>State>County/City/Parish/Borouh/Cen sus Area, depending where you are
they parallel
But aren't they lovely to look at - sure beats MS & MI & IS (if that is right)
minveryork, if you think the states are bad, try remembering Saskatchewan
evening all, btw
saves time in addressing an emvelope though lynxxx
I remember Saskatchewan but not how to spell it.
fireworks :-) ty for all your help x
what I love is listening to Americans try to pronounce it, hee hee
isn't that Big foot?
that's Sasquatch, ruru
Congrats Katie!
*giggle*
For example, MA, how many s's and t's does it have & MI,how many i's&s's does it have and Arkansas why is there a silent s at the end of it? Why can't they all be easy four or five letter words like Ohio,Texas,&Utah.
IL for illinois, and you have a point lyn. Our local paper usually spells the states out, mostly to avoid confusion between the VA and Virginia, though DC is referred to as the District.
Yay, Katie!!!
I guess you're right, Seain. Mine is boring though. London is in...Greater London. Someone got paid big bucks for that one!
Hello pythonx! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
howdy, ruru and python
Hi, python

Hello welki! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
Yeah Ru, it's called our flat ;)
that was supposed to be Lotsasix
LOL rururocks!
OOOOeeee NB..
I have 124 left :-P
lol NB
we have country, county then it can be a District, Borough or Unitary. If it is a unitary then you don't have a County. And some of the council's names make it impossible to know where they actually are
gang in there jellen...list helps... i caved at 85 left, can't do this forever
Brb...
I wonder if there's lots of Intercourse in Intercourse Pennsylvania(another state that can be hard to spell)
hang
gang in there?
I still can't get past the right corner Rs!
what the hell is going on at Jellen's house?
re4 - fishing pole feature
re6 - one who uses it
actually, I moved from Sussex to Middlesex. Guess I just can't get away from it.
Just checking on Tim...
why would you want to? ; )
Oh...
lmao
I'm off to bed now. See you all tomorrow
No, ruru, the gang's all gone...
I have all the fishing ones, I think. They are coming off a different R.
goodnight Katie
lol Kje! Good point.
maybe NB should move to Toomuchsex
er7?
Goodbye KatieMcG! I will see you tomorrow in the log!
Considering I moved out of my boyfriend's place, I'd say I've just left Toomuchsex ;) but looking forward to returning there in the future. It's a beautiful place.
add to make a mistake + earl fatha **** (then plural)
from toomuchsex to lackanookie
The two re 7/28s are still missing - I am probably missing the root words.
LOL Welki!
er 7/32: a medication that promotes or induces such discharge. Put definition in reverse dictionary and it is the seventh word on the list. The er8 is plural of er7
earl fatha ? is that a canadian wrestler?
Lackanookie sounds Indian -ish
actually it's hawaiian
lolol
The re7/28 word ie re plus ra 5/10 word and other is that re 6/18 word plus a single hump letter cbr1965.
wierd.. I thought they poke around a lot over in Hawaii
ty for the definition of those, minver.
yw
Ruru! lol
Min, I am missing one ra 5/10 which must be that one. I got the re 7/28. Thanks!
one who and plural REs, cbr
Just listed. I am going to miss Lickety clue list with the new format. It makes these big ones so fast to finish
agreed, lyn, even with the list w/in babble that's coming
You can still open Lickety's in another window lynxxx
what do you mean lynxxx
If there IS a Lickety list.
Hi all.
babble is adding functionality that makes lickety's list obsolete
but that is ony if Lickety maintains his list - not sure that he will Min
ty min
Huh? New format? What happened!!!
oh wierd
Ru - I think you click on each letter individually to see a list
Hi, jilli and Kaplan
hi Jilli
http://tinyurl.com/32hc2hd see there for what's coming for babble
Hello jillibus! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
hi, jilli and kaplan and kje
that would make lickety obsolete
I don't think you get a list, just a clue like ae6/18.
hi, Jill :)
I will check it out, but change sucks.
Hi everyone
Lots of nice features coming however! like rotation - Yay!
I love Expert and am not thrilled with the changes shown.
Rotation, Lynx?
clue list is clue list, no?
What do you mean by rotation? Are you able to move the letters around with this new Babble version?
yes, i'm excited at the ability to rotate the grid, too
The grid will flip around NB - so the bottom left hand becomes the right top hand
that list in new babble fills in words for the ones you find, as does lickety's
ar 5 10 the 4th one please.
Then wouldn't people be babbling with different grids?
uno
The great thing about Lickety's list is having the words fly into the right place. I don't see that happneing with the new style.
Go kje go!
done
Congrats, kje!!!
Maybe we can all beg&plead with Lickety to continue
congrats, kje!
min, the whole grid will rotate.
Congratulations kje on your fireworks! Hooray for U!
is lickety quitting????????
are you referring to entry, jilli as in chat vs grid?
I like being able to flip it around, like in wordsplay. No, it's not different grids, it's just rotating it 45 degrees/
So then the tile stats would have to change with grid
Congrats kje!
I will also miss the link to morewords in Expert's Resources, making alt-tab unnecessary.
Hello mkg! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
Maybe, min.
No, I don't think so- it's just changing perspective.
Can we adapt? Be brave, people!
agreed, kaplan
I am still hoping for sound effects w/fireworks in the new Babble version. Not sure if I'll like other features
lol, Kap!
good point about tile stats, they ought rotate too. I'll pose that question over there.
we are all STRONG and can brave anything
Hello Kaplan the Magne! How are you? Welcome to grid
I'm gonna tough it out.
Did you all see that players can enter a clue and when someone asks for a clue for say as5.10 that the clue will come up? (if one has been entered)
Hi- I have had insomnia all weekend .
oh, that'll be good, Lynx!
If the new style takes away my enjoyment, it will be bye-bye Babble.
as5.10
minver, i've posed the question about the tile stats rotating with the grid to dr_god, on that video
I will not pass judgment till I walk a mile in my new babble.
Okay, thanks dcseain. Didn't know you could do that.
as5 is a fall flower here in the northeast
thanx!
Change is always something to get used to,so I think it will take awhile to get used to new Babble version.
Hello PeggySue! How are you doing? Welcome to grid!
maybe dr. god would take over for lickety...........
did anyone clue the ar 5 10 fourth one?
in a rotation, DWTHR would be going down the right side. That's all. Same grid.
dr. god is adding functionality that makes lickety obsolete, yes, mkg
You can get the same effect by standing on your head.
An ar 5/10 is a plus double hook letters plus to be mkg
I am going to prepare to catch some zzzz's.
sure Kap
LOL Kaplan the Magne!
I'm quite the wit, aren't I. Good night and good babble.
I have 119 left here and it's a glorious day. Perhaps a bit too cool for swimming, though...hard to decide
oh. very interesting.

good point, and ty, river
you get a towel, work fast, and try to wrap her up like a little burrito, with all sharp appendages safely tucked inside. it's not easy. but if you do get her immobilized, then you can try to do the gel. set her between your legs/knees to help hold her still so your hands are free. bring bandages. for you.
towel method is your friend

When I ra 5/10d myself out of bed, I was determined to start babbling early&finish. But then I was wi 8/75 from the grid. I was he4/6 up with household chores and started the grid late. At le 5/10 the end is ne4/4 I can do a story filled with hi5/12. After 200 words I felt like such a di4/10. I was in such a di6/24 & I also felt like I was in di 4/5 straits & called for my th5/12 monkeys. Monkeys were a pain in the ar 4/4 though. Wh4/9 I yelled,"come hi 6/24!" they just remained id 4/5 and did not budge. It ir 4/4 me wh 4/9 they are obstinate and it makes me re 4/4 mad. It's ra 4/4 for them to cooperate with me. Had to drag them by the ea4/4.My monkeys were running around wi4/9 in the pool ar4/4 and didn't want to come. I told them they ei6/21 had to come help or I drain the pool & they go to th5/12 cages. Well, They started to wreak havoc upon th 5/12 ar 7/40. They got all ri 4/4 up over the va 4/7 number of words. Th 4/5 the te 5/10 started flowing and they became wh7/48 and wh5/20d about being too ti 4/4d. I wanted to kick all of them in the re4/4. I finally let monkeys go to the di 5/12 so they could eat dinner. They tw 5/18 around in excitement & sprinted off. I think if they had vi 4/7s they would have left the country.I want to hi4/5 new monkeys. Now hubby is being a he4/5. I can he4/5 him getting impatient waiting for the computer. The more hubby he5/12 my fingers typing, the more agitated he gets. Husband gets into a big sn4/4.We are ri5/16 when it comes to computer. I wish I could get another cheap laptop on sa4/4.Anyway,I will let him be a st7/28 and st 5/10 the computer. Now I'm going to te4/4 myself away from this and ri 4/4 out of this seat and watch My Name is Ea 4/4 wh 5/20 he is on Farmville.I will be back later on to enter the re4/4 of my words.I might save the la 4/4 word until right before the flip.
