While Xmas is an oficial holiday here, nothing having to do with Easter is [at least Nationally, Good Friday is an official state holiday in Connecticut]. We get President's day and Martin Luther King day as a holiday.
also, when working as home care, she's take the holidays so other moms could be with their kids - but now she has hubby and son

we get 8 bank holidays here - Good Friday, Easter Monday, May Day, late Spring Bank Holiday, August Bank holiday, Christmas Day Boxing Day and Ist Jan. In Scotland they get 2nd of Jan as well and take some of the others at different times

Absolutely correct stid. If you think they will stop talking because you are now, you are mistaken. They just ignore you because you have ignored them. It is much more effective to call individual kids gently by name and when they look at you to see if they are in trouble, just say, "Thankyou. We need to begin now"

check out Skip Downings "on course". it's a great way to look at teaching any level of students. I atteneded one of his three day workshops and came away with a lot of great information.

*plunges in* remember that grief is highly individual. three weeks isn't very long, and three months isn't that much longer. You will be processing this for a long time, and having sad days and moments when you struggle. BUT. It will get better, slowly, and in your own time you will feel okay again. Two things: don't let ANYONE tell you that it's "time" to stop grieving -- you will figure it out at the right moment. On the other hand, be careful to monitor your life, and if you find yourself isolating yourself from others, or struggling to do the routine things like paying bills and such, please seek help to work through how to keep going.

i do stuff like that a lot, doren. Lazy cooking: carmelize a bunch of sliced onion, stir in equal parts rice and brown lentils, and a some parsley, add water, cook til done, serve with yougurt.
