I waited several days to see if she would pay her portion of the cost of the rental. FInally I called and told her what her portion was.
I should be on the road today taking my son back to college but he is still in his room packing.
i had once taken a half day from work so we could leave early to head to the beach (a 2-3 hour drive). when i get home, my friend calls to say her roommates cat got out and they were looking for it. we ended up leaving for the beach AFTER the time we would have left if i hadnt bothered to take a half day. i think its great that she wanted to help find the roommates cat, but not when we already had plans. and i ended up wasting leave because of it.

herin, in theory, i probably would have too. but this gal was always late for everything. we were also supposed to do the same trip for my bday one year, but it ended up snowing. instead of saying up front "hey, if it snows, i cant go because i need to be here for XYZ reasons" she waited until it was basically too late for me to make any other plans, then said she couldnt go. so i ended up spending my birthday at home by myself.
I am starting to feel us parting somewhat in our close friendship. And, should I tell her why? All of us that are friends have the same difficulty with her.

SHE actually broke off the friendship with ME because she thought i was rude to her and not understanding of her responsibilities!
I think that someone else needs to make plans that include her so that she can't make the changes. She tends to arrange group dinners or tennis matches.

I have just figured out a way to make eggplants which suits me perfectly. Generally, I cook vegetables 'til they are dead, but I can bake eggplant with a lot of olice oil, cumin, garlic and salt and it is wonderful

Last year he thought that he was not going to get housing but then the school took out a multi-year lease on a condo project that had gone unsold because of economy. He ended up in a two bedroom apartment with full kitchen with granite counter tops and their own washer and dryer.

Middle school, Min. I enjoy it greatly.
Wish I didn't have to do elementary in the Spring, but must student teach in an elementary in order to hold that certification.
Otherwise, would choose to teach middle school again in an instant.

We're getting middle school in my school building.We got 6th grade last year, 7th grade this year and 8th grade next year. Middle school is tough age to teach
oh, it's not bad, mcurl! LOL I worked in Mother's 1 and 2 classes all those years! But I really enjoy the older kids just as much, and they need caring adults.
I would MUCH prefer doing middle school with a block format than the piece-meal high school format (and the research supports the block model). But you teach with the schedule you are given, right?
I thought I didn't like kindergarten but was hired as a long term sub at that level and now I wish I could spend all my time there. Mainly in 4th and 5th grade other than that. My one on one is repeating 4th grade with the teacher that I volunteer for so we're having some good times already
I've actually never taught middle school, but I do he 4/5 that it is a tough age to teach.So glad you like it

of course, I am not student teaching where there is block scheduling, but my own kids' had modified block (in a very small K-8 school) so I know how it works, and how it scaffolds the kids who really need the support while allowing the more mature students to take leadership roles.
This year, principal assigned grades for me to teach.
everybody has their "niche"; I've already told the mom of my guy that I will absolutely not follow him to the middle school. Not that I don't like the kids but more the personalities of some of the long time staff.

The middle school I was in last year had some bilingual classes, and a couple self-contained classes, but the self-contained were just one teacher for the whole school.
Yes,I prefer to do pull-out than push-in,but principal is making me do some push-in as well. I got a new ESL partner this year. I just met him. Has no experience in elementary. His background is Adult ESL education
