m9 -- is your extraordinary icon one of your ancestors? It's certainly not a sea anemone.
brb
They are problems MLF - I'm supposed to be doing tax returns and I need to justify "wasting" time babbling - so I need to be going forward

Hi J.C.

I'm still not seeing anything new m
good morning, JC -- you must have had only about 2 hours' sleep!
i have nbt and nbs.. but long ways before 1/2way
I must refresh
time to focus on the high volume tiles...
Oh my goodness, m9 - thought the photo was of a relative of yours at first!
Evening JC
I was about to ask if you had disowned that one. :P
150 down and calling it a night as well -- see you tomorrow :)
didn't do any good
hi and nbt
this morning I scared my poor husband
Good morning flosey, Jill and the lovely Laura. :)
Getting more shortly, Jill - not to worry.

As soon as the other half leaves...
hi josh wtg

faux -- or should I call you Your Royal Highness? Wow!
good night nan sleep well
I probably have relatives that interesting..just no pics of them..LOL
Erm...
Well quite. I suppose. :P
so I'm the first to say 'good morning' JC and I don't get a hello in return??
I never call her that, Jilli - she's the lovely Laura. :)
hallo friends! as opposed to shallow friends..or perhaps you are my hallowed friends...yes? been lurkin' while reaching final third
:P
Well sorry if I didn't see it with everything else going on westford, I'm sure. Why assume I would slight you? :/
Hello...
man in the chute!
JC I was just kidding don't be such a grump
I've been in one of those, m9 - albeit a parachute.
and nice job pav
well done, lurky pav!
I'm not, westford - seemed you were, though?
you don't know my sense of humor
I still say silk looks good on you Sir JC...
nice! I've never done that. went as ground support for my pal when she did it.
Hmmm, PAV? Is my own photo still showing - because it shouldn't be?
it's hard writing something all the nuances are not there
There should be a photo of one of my ancestors there instead, now...
let me freshen up..first..
I see you here in the chog. but if I click on you I see your grandfather J.C.
That is true westford.
what a handsome guy JC
Ah, I see. If you reload the main website, you should see the change, m9.
more refreshment needed for you, m9 ;)
I think he was, yes - thank you, westford.
yeah.. I just didn't bother.
He looks quite sad there, though.
you people are so young! Your grandparents look as if they're almost my generation!
he does!
I have something to put in..not a person though brb
I looked for a pic of my great grandfather Griffiths.. lots of mentions of him online but no pics.
sorry Miss Jilli, my grandparents are now gone...I don't have many pics and none loaded on the pc...
and I have a pic of my however many greats marriage bond..
pc=Mac-mini

night anike! I'm off too. Pleasant dreams or day to all!
nice painting!
Interesting costumes, Jilli...
1/2way!
I thought so, JC. The photo was emailed to me by a cousin in england -- grandson of that second wife.
Same here, m9 - just now.
Ah yes, I see...
I'd seen your granddad in your Who Do You Think You are...
Yes. We supplied several photos of him for that.
Imagine being in both wars!
Yes. I'm sure one was more than bad enough. :(
ancestor photo posted -- good night :)
thanks nan
thanks, nan -- most interesting! Pleasant dreams!
very good story of Scottish fortitude
Yes. Quite interesting, cybernan.
I was actually born at home in my parent's flat, with only a midwife attending.
cool J.C! all of my children were born at home
where was that, JC?
that's getting to be more and more common
In London...
Yes. It used to be, then wasn't for some time.
Now in vogue again. :P
yes. this last one I didn't get as much guff as I did 22 years ago.LOL
Ah, I see.
my dad was premature in a house in 1910. He was what he called a "shoe box baby" 3 lbs..
My mum hated hospitals - can't blame her.
good for her!
Wow, m9 - amazing he survived, back then!
one of my mother's brothers was kept in a box in the oven he was premature too
yes.. he was inside someone's clothing all the time at first. Now they call that "kangaroo care" lol
In the oven?!
yes.. or in the oven! that's what he told me!
to keep him warm..like an incubator
Hey everybody! My kids are 3 and 6, and were both born at home. 9.6 and 10.2 pounds. Er, we try to keep ours out of the oven.
lol frog
Yes. Can't imagine charbroiled children. :/
at those weights sure they weren't preemies
Nope! :)
wtg frog!
My wife did all the hard work. She rocks.
I bet she WAS rockin'!!LOL
that's what they did with an old friend from the east coast, he was a premie, but grew to about 6' 3 or 4"
Home birth of my son would have been difficult for me -- was sort of homeless -- parents in Shanghai, aunts in NY, m-in-law away at the summer place, staying in her house in Montreal, hubby having been transferred to Toronto so planning the move there ...
my poor hubby has to do a lot of work too.. the first three were all back labor..
story from a local hospital left a drill bit inside someone having surgery and you wonder why I don't like hospitals
my dad didn't get tall but he was BIG!
Yikes, westford! :/
oh.. there's a story. He was the undefeated boxing champ of the northwest ccc's.LOL time came for the match and the other group looked at him and said... ok. you guys win.
I know JC such incompetence
oh jilli! terrible to be alone at a time like that.
smart guys m lol
hubby was there, m9 :)
oh good!
can you see Mario and his family?
Mario who?
wish they had a translator
oh -- you're watching the rescue...?
I have the local news on just now
I was jilli and then everything froze had to shut down
yes
was watching it on my computer
good morning everybody
I'll go to CNN shortly but need to see the weather forecast for here first...
hi ruby
they've got another guy in there now.
hi ruby
number 5, m9?
so far they all seem to be doing well
hi ruby
yes -- isn't it great!
Hi
hi herin
How goes it
Got to love finding out who got the job over me
I think Indian summer is over -- cold and damp but still no frost so lost of roses and spirea, very green still but leaves are starting to turn
it goes well
oh no herin there'll be more and better ones
was this for an internship?
Yep.
that is too bad, herin, are you OK?
It was for a traineeship. I found out it went to the dumbest girl in my class
no way !!
Yep
something tells me she's going to blow it
(someone (ok it was me) said that she blew someone to get the job)
you might be right lol
that's what I was thinking, too. Bad Ruby
just makes me cry
have a good one then pick yourself up and move on
if that's what she did to get the job, she won't be able to keep it
you know you're better than she is
I said it in jest. This girl has 0 intelligence is always late and can't get her shit together
miner #5 on his way up -- the 18-yr-old
she won't last, then
good news about the miner, jilli
yep jilli. they all look pretty good.
and it's my bedtime -- goodnight all -- 38 left for tomorrow......*poof*
bye jilli
good night jilli

I think I may need to go and play a kill everyone video game

Hi Lynxx

hello lynxx
that's what MLF said

can't get it flosey
ok, will keep monkeying!
Stoning is practiced in Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Nigeria, and Iran - and that is just nowadays. Historically lots of countries and religions as you would all be aware
Hmmm, looking online for a photo of an "illustrious" ancestor, came across a woman in Queensland looking for information on the same man -- I may've found a new cousin.
lyn all I can think of is that Bob Dylan song
Christine that's pretty cool..you need to find someone closer
Someone from my Dad's family went to Australia in the late 1800s (and some later)) and from my Mum's family, a cricketer played in the first England -Australia game, so ...
flosey, dee said the pe was from the left corner p
thanks west, it's my last word, still monkeying

HTanks

I feel the need to go and torment the Sims game
must get to bed now, goodnight all

I feel the need for designing houses
That's on my listof things-to-do, for tomorrow - pedicure, foot massage and lunch out, before the eleven books waiting at the library.
nice day you have planned Christine
nice plan Christine
see you later folks. Enjoy your designing, herin!
sounds like a great day, christine!
*poof*
bye for now ((ruby))
Bye, rubyfoo.
Byebye
bye herin happy designing
BBL nice grid
bye lyn just puttering
I looked-up the definition of la8, and one of the paid ads on the page was for help if your the victim of harassment - extremely so, I'd say.
no kidding
*you're, of course
back for a minute
hi again ruby
waiting for poor husband to come back with groceries
121 words so far; this is a nice grid
is his back any better?
no, it's worse, and he insists on carrying stuff, won't let me take over any of his chores
it is nice I'm just picking them out..getting some non words too lol
he is very stubborn and refuses help -- only complains in front of me, not in front of his doctor or nurse
how many do you have
typical man
I have 149 so far
I'm afraid that he won't get better without taking it easier
the bites, however, are pretty much healed
that is really amazing especially without skin grafts
what's news of the dog?
and he has a flat scar, rather than concave as I feared
he seems to be elsewhere as they keep their gate open
he must be in pretty good shape then
far far away I hope
but he is 85 and feels his age (ears, eyes, and now back) and is very depressed
that's right I was thinking he was 80
court date is the 5th of Nov, so we'll see what happens with the dog then. I am more concerned, at this point, with our expenses AND damages. I think the neighbors will take care of the dog.
not the owners
I can't imagine why the dog wasn't put down
as far as the petition goes. I'm afraid if I make too big a deal about killing the dog, the damages will not be addressed adequately
stupid laws here. The people are required to muzzle it, keep it on a short leash, keep it in a kennel, etc., but who, actually, is going to enforce that?
and who will be at fault if the dog bites a child
did your husband enjoy your son and his wife's visit?
Good morning/evening all.
hello Haz
ruby must have gone awol.
she buries herself in the grid I think
Either that or the dog sits on top of her and she can't reach the keyboard.
lol
Haz, have you been following the progress of the mine rescue in Chile?
Hi all!! again, 50 left and stalling rapidly
hello diz
I've not been watching the live news, obviously following it in general and glad that their initial estimation of how long it would take was pessimistic.
Hello, dizgrannie.
seems so I was watching it on the computer but it slowed things down
I can't imagine what life must have been like for them down there. I hope they're given enough time to come to terms with the whole experience.
they're talking books and movies
its great that those guys are being rescued, but (haven't watched all) I thought the weakest would have been brought out first????
for some reason they said the weakest would come up last
I reaad yesterday that they and their families are being taken off, somewhere that they can regroup. And a Chilean millionaire gave $10,000 to each miner - but those that were not trapped are complaining they lost out, because they've not worked since the collapse.
I suppose it's inevitable, westford.
Was the idea that the strongest would come out first to make sure that the equipment worked correctly and to give detailed feedback on what the ascent will entail?
oh dear Christine sour grapes
The four strongest were to go fidst, so that if there was a problem, they'd be better able to handle the disappointment, and could put on a brave face for the others. Then the weakest would come up.
Yes, Haz that and the 'techiest' were the first to come up.
Unimaginable, to be there afor so long.
the second guy up was apparently very p'o'd cos someone reminded him that he'd forgotten to clock in when his shift started.
thanx for that info Haz, seems like a good idea, so if anything went wrong they might be able to cope....
too funny dach
OMGosh !! he won't get paid fpor that shift?
Oh, Dachef! Overtime and everything and time and a half for public holidays.
Time for a cuppa
I laughed about the guy with wife AND mistress there to greet him...hehehe
I wonder how many will be back working in the mines.
that's right I'd forgotten about that diz
he'll be the last one up lol
I thought it was sweet that they all wanted shampoo and shoe polish.
I wonder how long it will be before they start to bore people with their stories. 'When I was trapped underground'.... a former dog warden here managed to get his experiences in Burma into every conversation. 'You think it's raining hard? When I was in Burma....'
It'll be 'you think this is dark? When I was trapped underground...'
He sounds like our ex brother-in-law. He always prefaced with 'That's nothing...".
They have all been very fortunate.
I know the type, westford. You're nearly inclined to make up ever more extravagent claims just to hear them top them.
The coverage from the Washington Post has been extraordinary. Cameras everywhere. If only I'd paid more attention to Spanish.
you did that, well I did one better....know a lot of peeps like that, one used to regale us with his escapades in Vietnam...proved later he was never there.....really sad when they have to makeup a life to think they would fit in...
I suppose every now and again a story comes along that has all the elements of a good adventure novel but it just happens to be real.
I imagine the man with the wife and mistress spent a lot of time exercising while he was down there, so he can run faaaast, away from his wimmen.
oh diz seems lots of our politicians are being caught out lately
Some members of the Catholic Church were today thrown into panic when a typo in one newspaper reported that 'minors freed from underground prison'.
LOL Christine
yes Christine I'd like to imagine the women have become good friends
Haz, that's why these "survivor" shows are so annoying - there are real survivors out there, who don't have cameras on them
and LOL Dachef...that would be a worry for them
Dach were they panicking because the 'minors' got out?
And there was the case of the 9/11 faker as well, she was eventually caught out.
Christine, never watch reality shows, seen too much in real life, so know what your saying
what happened there, Haz??
So many sad people out there.
A woman claimed that she had lost her fiance who worked in one of the Twin Towers and that she herself had escaped from a high floor on the other tower. She was to the forefront of a victims support group and gained great prominence until it was discovered that she hadn't even been in New York on the day.
unbelievable
Her name was Tania Head - actually a Spanish woman who did have burn scars etc but who made the whole thing up.
might have been self inflicted
They think she received the scars from some sort of incident years before, but certainly not in the way that she claimed.
I wonder if she was related to Scrab's old boss.
what a biatch....sorry for swearing.
So sorry for all those who did die or were injured and for their families to have someone like that in their midst.
It was amazing that she got away with it for so long, but she became president of the survivors' self-help group and everything.
that's terrible
I wonder if she's somewhere in a mental hospital now.
Once her story began to unravel she disappeared, possibly back to Spain but I don't know if her whereabouts are known for sure.
She may well emerge triumphant from that mine in Chile....
Ha ! There will soon be an empty mine shaft.
we think alike lol
Watch out for a short, blonde woman.
not that it's anything like that story but have any of you heard of Rosie Ruiz?
No, I don't think I have.
Won a marathon and then they found out she rode the subway for most of the 26 miles
That's my kind of marathon!
very funny!
Hello again. Morning Haz
Yes. Maybe they weren't specific.
Hey, I'm short/blonde - well blond-ish, though more ish than blonde, these days.
Hello, lynxxx.
I'm short and blonde as well, but you'll not get me down a mine!
Do you speak Spanish Christine? lol
Only restaurant spanish = deos equis por favor.
my computer can't spell in Spanish.
So many political ads now. I wish they'd all have to take a truth pill.
we all know that one Christine.
West or Christine - have you heard of these people. Glamorous Fabrics. Sell ends of upholstery fabrics, seem extremely cheap. I am trying to see if they will ship to Aust. http://www.glamorousfabrics.com/index. php
I haven't heard of them but I'll check it out.
I don't - what does it mean?
Is Stewart demanding a glamorous bed?
what are you planning to cover?
dos equis is beer
I don't know them, dear - I buy only quilting fabrics.
He already has them Haz. A couple of chairs maybe or else a couple of ottomans
Nothing too sequinned, though, he might not find it comfortable.
we had a sub in German once and the only thing he knew was Geben sie mir ein bier bitte.
Is this Plan B, lynxxx, in case the job in the furniture place doesn't happen? Plan A, staff discount, Plan B, glamorous fabrics.
fake suede and sheepskin for Stewart, I resisted fake leopard skin thought it looked a bit feminine
Morning all. I'm in the middle of major slipcovering, myself, as we speak. I think fabric.com ships everywhere
No, I don't see Stewie with leopardskin at all.
sort of - the chairs are still OK so thought I would get those reupholstered
rosie ruiz!
the site says now accepting international orders lyn
Hello, Jayk.
you heard of her ruby?
hello jayk
Thanks Jayk
hi jayk
I was in NY at the time! I always thought the story was a riot
she probably dumped water on herself to look sweaty at the end
I know but usually International means Canada and Hawaii to the US
so did I ruby she had cajones
But the shipping costs, for upholdtery weight fabrics will be exhorbitant. I once (only once) ordered fabric from England and the shipping blew me away.
and, I think, a sense of humor
shipping is outrageous that's for sure
I'll bear that in mind Christine, thanks.
Hi. Lynxx if you are looking for cheap and good fabric try Brunswich
when you ship into France, they not only charge shipping, but about 20% tax including tax on the shipping cost!
when I send parcels to my friend in England it does cost less to go by boat
just requires long-range planning
takes forever though
Note, lynxxx, that I am unable to offer any help whatsoever.
I greatly admire anyone who upholsters.
I admire anyone who can pick up a needle without breaking out in a sw5/18.
Not travelling to the colonies via US just for me Haz?
ty for sw5, haz, I didn't see it
Oh, I suppose I could carry the stuff for you, it's what needs to be done afterwards that would have me in a tizz.
BBS just having dinner
I used to make all my own clothes, now can't even thread a needle with a threader
Bye, lynxxx, enjoy dinner.
are you having something wonderful, lynx?
we'll figure it all out while you're away lyn
does everybody have the rutabaga word?
uh oh, stomping -- Ruby's time is up
(Switching on the universal translator for rutabaga)
it looks like a proper noun and I don't know if it's used out of the US as it's slang
(other sw5)
Yes, had it but didn't know it. sw5/20 - a turnip like vegetable.
and delicious mashed with butter
hard to find in France. Do they have them in the UK?
*poof*
Yes, we do.
I wish I had some right now even though I've never heard of it.
It's like a pale version of turnip.
love turnips
can only get them around Thanksgiving
The only thing I don't like about turnip is the cooking smell.
yes the kitchen does have to be aired out
I used to sw5/20 chunks of it when it was raw to eat. My mother had to have extra rations of vegetables to compensate for the amount that was eaten raw before it could get into the pot.
By coincidence I bought a sw5 yesterday along with other root veg to make soup this week. Greetings all.
Hello, FM!
Morning Haz, how is Ballymena today? T'is rather chill and grey here - perfect soup weather.
You've just described the weather here as well.
ah well :(
hello FM
I'm soon going to have to reconcile myself to winter clothes. Boring.
I was just googling and can't find the sw. Does it rhyme with anything.
The vegetable? It's a description of a Nordic person, not a Dane.
My vegies were a bargain turnip, parsnip, carrots, couple of onions all for 75p not bad for about 8 meals worth of soup. Hi westie.
good soup !!
Do you put barley etc in your soup, FM?
will add some pearl barley and lentils to some of it.
ah thanks Haz
I really love the pulses in soup, just for extra oomph.
You're welcome, westford.
what kind of broth do you begin with FM?
How is the grid shaping up today, won't be able to start until later.
it's friendly
That's another difference in the language between US and Britain. For us, broth is the finished product, having started off with stock.
It's a nice grid so far, FM.
just water westie as all the goodness of the veg makes a wonderful stock in itself.
we start with stock too I misspoke
Good morning everyone. Glad to hear the grid is friendly, because I have slightly limited time this morning!
Back. Must add that if you all think I am doing the actual re-upholstery, you are all mistaken
that's a relief lyn lol
hi sally
lol lynxxx and morning Sally.
sw*** is slang? It's the only word I know for it too
But lynxxx, that would put you so far ahead in the perfect wife stakes - sandyloo wouldn't have a hope of catching up.
Hello, Sally.
maybe that is why we haven't seen her around for a while - she is honing her skills.
I wouldn't put it past her.
You need to up your game, lynxxx!
Either that or the rooster finally caught up with her?
and it's not that hard, lynxx
That would have made it into the papers. 'Rooster eats woman'
And yes, I'm heading to the PB.
Back.
you are getting lax Haz, you seem to be spending rather al lot of time in there these las tfew weeks or so!
I know. It's pretty horrifying.
Hi FM
eek must dash have totally forgotten I was supposed to do something 1st thing this morning. TTFN
Sorry my chat froze hence I came 'back' a few times
bye FM happy soup later
A wee senior moment for FM.
She's getting on a bit so these lapses are inevitable, dear help her.
she'll get you Haz
whack you on the shins with her cane
Its funny - I never get junk mail but the other day I got an email from Sandy which was junk. Obviously this mobile phone supplier had somehow got access to everyone that Sandy had ever sent an email to - weird
Oh, I know. She's a menace with that thing.
Maybe her computer has been hacked? That might explain the long silence.
And the dodgy e-mail as well?
lyn someone got my cousin's email address and 'he' sent me a plaintive note about being mugged in London
Maybe. The reason for her long absence last time started when her computer broke down
I sent it to him. He wrote back that he was safe at home but if I wanted to send money his wife would be happy to send it to him
That happened to someone else here on babble, westford, someone sent e-mails on their account asking for help. I can't remember who it was.
I remember that. Said it was really a pain because they'd changed his password as well.
Yes, someone from the States, but I can't remember who exactly. FM isn't the only one having senior moments.
Friend of a friends daughter travelling in South America had her laptop stolen. Her father got an email from the thief saying he would return it - for a price
cousin is Bill or Billy to the family and this was signed William
enterprising young thing
Hey, I had an obvious fake email from Sandy the other day. It read: hi: Please forgive us for disturbing you valuable time! Welcome to our home page :(xxxxx.com) best service, fast delivery price competition, the choice of a large number of goods For more information, please visit my online store on sale. E-mail : i[blocked] Best wishes!

Same one I got Sally
The odd thing is that the email address that went to is the one I only use on Facebook and here.
Okay, I'd better be getting on with other things. See you later!
Sorry about double post.
is Sandy selling roosters? lol
bye Haz
I would guess someone has hacked her FB account and sent this to all her FB friends.
I'm off too. Nice seeing all of you.
bye West
Note to self: buy new deodorant. I'm still here, all alone :-(
Must go deeper Sally as I am not FB friend. I did once email her though and she replied - so they must have got into her email
It's OK I can't smell anything
As far as I remember she has never emailed me except through FB but I could be wrong. I wonder if she realises? Didn't think to tell her.
Wrong. Just checked. She sent me a recipe to that email address, so you are right someone has hacked her address book. I will let her know.
hi all, good afternoon
hello sprite, et all!
hi Sprite - and Lile
how's life in Babble today?
Hall Sprite and Lilecama
All good - pretty easy grid
nice going so far :)
:D good to hear
I dipped in for a quick look, but can't seem to stop typing!
It always starts like that Lile and then.....
am back from therapy, walked Terra, washed the bottom half of him and now it is time for my babble. Nice and relaxed.
hopefully my break time will be over by then, lynxxx! ;)

Yes thankyou
hello ursh
hi Ursh
Just have found three words from that bottom E, lynxxx. Are you still looking for them?
Yes but don't tell me - except are they ep?
Not the three I have found.
TY
gah! fish!!
:-)
TY Sally - I was so focused on ep I didn't look the other way
There's a word inside that one, as well, if you haven't found it already (and its plural)
I had the inside one first which led me to the ones you were looking for.
TY
no ep words at all
nope
Just found a nice oe7. Now I have 70 left and must go and do something else for a bit and hope to come back later.
bye Sally
bye Sally
Your sister looks nice, btw Sprite. As I would expect. Whatever the causes for not seeing her for so long, I am so glad that now you are reunited {{hugs}}. (And I don't need or wish to know why!!)
thanks Sally
fireworks. Bye all.
30 left and my eyes are too tired to loo for any more. Congrats Sprite. Night xx
*~*~*POMPOM TOSS*~*~*for SPRITE
and good morning
ditto to what carlee said
frig..i am so tired....
stayed up watching the rescue of the miners
oh! did they get through to the miners?
the ones in chilie?
Good morning Cross, they are still bringing them up.
when did they start?
gm molly:)
I think it was around midnight when they got the first one up.
There is an article on Yahoo about it.
midnight local time crossy and 10 have been brought up so far - all looking remarkablly well.
although the one who's wife and mistress were waiting for him might not fare so well!
there is a wife/ mistress situation?...
been watching off and on all nite
aparently so.
if they are both waiting side by side all this time in the camp, there is no situation lol
pretty much...yes
the endorsements and movie and interview deals will make enough money for him to have both lol
Truly Cross, the dude will be on all the talk shows for sure.
seems they have each already been offered 400,000 just for an initial interview
ahh...dude with the mistress is a paramedic
its ok,soon he will be a tv star..much more money"
he can get himself a 3rd one lol
ohhh...another one....his wife has told him he can keep his mistress for rest of life...cus she wont be around
apparently there a few mistresses
busy boy..personally after 3 month is a fetid hole in the ground i would be re-arranging my priorities anyway
not to be...awful...but hormones being what they are...i wonder how long one could stay down there until u seek....gratification...in..alternate ways...
lol,3 months can be done quite easily by a man who has been married over 10 years lol
haha crossy!
there was a 19 year old down there
would get shaky after that though
carlee - i had the same thoughts...
mornin all
when we were on the field trip..the teachers there and I were talking about it..i mean..( and i mean this completely respectfully..from purely...anatomic way..not to be crass )...seriously...how long...its 80-90F...u think ur goign to die...your thinking is not...sane
morning eva
stress..is high...depression... and hormones...yeesh..sounds like a messy stew of crap
hiya crossy. how goes it?
not to bad at all;) not lottery winning good but still not bad;)
must be close now eh eva? when is the big day again?

groom puking every morning from the stress build up yet? those big weddings are killers;))
ok...i am going to go watch again..another should be headed out in a min
eh, we are both getting to the verge of it. still lots of work to do...not enough time...
i had one of the girl moments last nightof such stress build-up that i almost cried... hence the late-night bath i decided to take.
i am sure it will be a beautiful and memorable thing, but god am i glad we had a small one.our 20th is coming soon and ill will make our vow renewal a big flashy thing for her
if she wishes to renew that is...lol
im sure Mrs Crossy is looking forward to it. :)
lol,she would if she knew i was planning it:))))
well then. her subconscious is looking forward to it. :)
lol,i am already making payments on the 20th anniversary band
darn woman is gonna need a longer finger soon
engagement ring, wedding band,10th anniversary ring, now we will soon have to squeeze another on there..where are my rings? thats what i want to know!!
well, you could get her a skin graft next time... ;)
Mrs Crossy is a luck woman - good morning all
good morning Babblers :)

i think ever time a woman gets a band,a man should get a classic car of his choice;0
yes Mrs. Crossy is indeed very lucky

Good Morning
You're welcome.
Good morning, Goodenough.
hello GE
howdy ge
Good morning everyone
hi, everyone. it warms my heart to watch the Chilean miners emerging. If we as nations could work together like this more, it would be a much better world.
howdy bob
Hello, Mr Bob.
hello mr bob
A day off today! First time in a month i've spent a weekday off at home - yay!
I couldn't agree more, Angelsong. Its like watching a 'Happy Ever After' movie!!
their ordeal is over, thank God
BTW - Hello everybody :-)
howdy soodles
hello soodle
Hello, Soodle.
It has been fun to watch them emerge *wipes away tears*
How many have come out now?
12 i believe
Excellent. I hope everybody gets out safe and well.
what sort of round trip time are they getting?
it has been taking about 15 minutes to bring them up. they had gotten 11 in 9.5 hours.
I have seen two emerge in the last15 to 20 minutes
I think it's close to an hour, round trip. They are being careful. CNN's timer is at 11:11, with 12 out.
but it is 10 to 15 minutes down, 15 up, and then loading and unloading time in between
We have been getting great coverage from Chile here in Oz, and such a fantasic ending for the miners and their families. Just got fireworks - good to get the brain into top gear after a holiday.
Well done, Sara.
13th miner is just starting up now
off to take the youngest to school - then back home to an empty house...ahhhhhh.
bye bye GE
here is a interesting live feed for those that need it on the minder rescue in progress(sound is not great)

Afternoon Babblers!
hi red
this grid is much nicer than yesterdays.
yes it is -- only needed help on a handful for this one
*NB!* (((huggles))) yes, feeling better. not nearly so weepy today. kicked myself in the butt + getting on with it!
on my way out then *poof*
TY cyber -- thats NBT and NBS for me!!
Hello, Red! :) And glad to feel you're feeling better, Eva. Maybe just nerves as the big day draws nearer :)
oh no eva, feeling icky? I am grumpy. but otherwise fine.
it was an off-night for both of us. had a good chat before bed, which set things back on the right path. we are just both stressed out with this planning...
oh good, Eva :) good communication can sort most little hiccups! And yes, I imagine you are - but not long now, and then you never have to think about wedding planning again! Just have to worry about showing up and looking gorge ;)
i would love to just sleep straight from now to then -- that might be enough for me to feel rested!
Oh my Eva. I sometimes think the honeymoon is just for the couple to recover from the wedding maddness.
Ohhh, I know how you feel about the sleep. I am sleeping SO much these days but still seem to be just dragging around - need to get a little sparkle back!
LOL Red! Makes sense...
speaking of sparkle, dearest, i have hardly spoken to you in weeks! how is life and such? (and by "such" i mean frank!)
Oh my, not much to report really...'such' is good ;) and I haven't smoked in five weeks! Other than that, just been madly busy - but not as madly busy as you, I'll bet!
congrats on 5 weeks hon! thats amazing! so super-proud of you. :)
and i want photos of frank. ;)
thank you :) believe me, nobody is more surprised than me!
i was thinking of you the other day... i was watching "ninja assassin" and thinking how sexay the main character is, then i started thinking how he looked a bit like you... only, yknow, butch. ;)
Had to google that...LOL, is all I can say. You can't be serious :P
If I were that ripped, I'd be wider than I am tall!
heh. well, that was the butch part... but the hair + his face a little bit...
yowza! this shows his progression during training for that movie: http://tinyurl.com/27kwkk4
LOL! Ouch. Wish I could tell you what it said at the bottom but half the script is cut off...probably the Korean for "shiiiiit!"
i could use HIS trainer. though that seems like an awful lot of work + not much eating anything that tastes good...
If I ever achieved a physique like that, my first move would be to cover my chest in paint and press up against my wallpaper. I'd want to remember that bad boy.
haha!
so, can you get me one of THOSE for my wedding? ;)
*snort* sorry, though I have the good fortune to live with someone who is very impressively ripped, I refuse to share ;)
meanie! :P
speaking of which, though, I'm being called, so I'd better be off ;) if I don't see you before, enjoy your special day (like you need me to tell you!)! x

omg so sorry parrot on board !
ad5=skilled at something
and pl
Hello again...
howdy jellen:)
You know, I've seen dogs and cats type, but this is my first bird sighting! :-)
I'm taking another break from manual labor...
the bird is obviously spelling impaired
what kind of manual labor jellen?
But much more creative than my cat...
but it knows emoticons!
Exterminator's coming tomorrow...have to empty kitchen cabinets...
My liquor cabinet alone is quite impressive...had no idea!
when your feet are as long as this bird's with so many spread talons, you can say a whole lot with one quick run across the board : )
lol
I hate emptying. we just painted the living/dining room so i had to empty everything. I am not putting it back til I can afford to install hardwoods and will do everything then ... may take years :/
Hardwoods are so nice...
they are under the carpet now, but the previous owner had large dogs so they are reaaaalllly bad. to refinish them would be very time conuming and smelly and with the parrot, we would have to board him for weeks til the smell dissapated (sp?) so we are going to go over the existing ones
I was lucky...have the original hardwood floors in most of the house, and our floor guy was able to match really well for the rest...
you see that so often, especially in homes built in the 40,s and 50,s you lift up some hideous carpet and find the most amazing hardwood floor underneath
it is such a nice look. we installed carpet because of the babies, but they are gone now so i can start redoing
then you spend foever getting stuck carpet backing off
My house was built in the 20s, but my grandparents covered most of the floors, too...
i think it was a status symbol, to be able to cover the cold, hard floors
and all that amazing oak trim and the rosettes around door frames..buried under 22 coats of lead paint ugh...
i think it was bethn
all the trim in my house is natural, and my friends keep saying "why don't you paint it to match?" I can still hear my father saying - you NEVER paint wood. It is one of the few times i paid attention. I cnat bring myself to paint the trim to this day
good girl;)))
I agree with your dad!
besides, it is much easier to keep clean, never peels or cracks, just dust or wipe with damp cloth
Fireworks!! BYE
just a rub now and then with murphys oil soap and yer all set
yaa for trent
whoo hoo trentsnana!

I live in monmouth county
what was your field of study?
music education
such a wonderful area, but not the easiest to find employment i would guess.
anyone have the el6/7?
I'm guessing private schools might have more funds available than the public ones in this Christy-era
enjoyable, but you're right..easiest-not in the least. I graduated in may and have applied to about 70+ jobs with only 3 interviews that went nowhere
even private schools are suffering though
for right now I'm just teaching privately so that I have some money
and am still looking for a teaching job, there are a lot of maternity leaves and long-term substitute jobs that pop up during the year
yep el6/24 = a type of snake
el+ vowel +roses get a*h*** (bugs)
are you looking only in your area, or all over?
thanks. never would have monkeyed that one!
yw
i got it but a thought it was a seal til i checked

I'm not certified anywhere else, but am in the process of getting my new york certification to expand my options
evening everyone
Hi Katie
good for you that should help
hi katie
except it's afternoon over here :)
hi katie
i know this is morbid like checking the obits for apartments about to be vacant, but a teacher in paterson (?) i will double check location was let go (read arrested) recently due to inappropriate sexual contact with student.
I only know because he used to teach at my kids high school, and left after accusations were
leveled here, he left went elsewhere and the admin did not report him
a music teacher?

Good...btw, my no-show of the other night called and apologized...
I am taking a break; have youth ministry tonight. Tests so far on hubby WNL....hanging in there and just trying to organinze finances to get set in case we end up short one income
The next day, but he called...
oh good, so they're ok?
Mine?
yea
I remember you were worried whether or not everything was ok
Yes, he had his headphones on, mixing a track for a client and completely lost track of time...
The best way to get in touch with him is to text and wait five or six hours for him to notice, lol...
lol I have a friend like that. if I text her in the morning or the early afternoon I shouldn't expect an answer until around 9 or 10 at night
What are your primary instruments, tcnj?
Hi everyone
Jellen is this your admirer?
Hi, Mom! Yes...
Hi ((Jellen)) how sweet
I've been playing trumpet for 14 years, french horn for 4 and I learned how to play clarinet, flute, trombone, saxophone, violin, viola, piano and percussion in college
hi, mom
It's a nice feeling!
Hi tcnjgrad10, what talent!
I suppose it is, Jellen
So brass is your specialty? I played sax in school...and later when I worked in a small school, I picked it up again...
yea brass is what I'm most comfortable with but I'm fine with teaching woodwinds and percussion too
may I have a clue for the ap 8/55, please?
My friend/admirer is a professional drummer...
my girlfriend is a flutist who's currently pursuing her masters' in performance at NYU
in a band, Jellen?
that is neat tcnjgrad
I would love to be able to play flute! Both my sisters played...
mom, someone who lost a court case but didn't think they should have did this to a higher court

It means you have a word from each tile (except the 0's of course)
thats not me yet
lol
I just have one tile left with nothing
It doesn't really mean anything, but it gives one a small sense of accomplishment...
wow.. i did all the C's with no help!
finally got the crazy el words for nbt!
Hi, Good Enough
hi jane
oops jellen
Same difference, lol
:)
how's your new / old friend? things still good?
Pretty good...discovered he's a workaholic...
Who is incommunicado while he works...
hmmm, not fun when you want to be the center of attention - as we all want and deserve.
especially at the beginning of a relationship
So I'm not sure how much time he'll have for me, but it'll all work out (or not) in the end...
true. at least you are clued in to what his reality is.
I'm picking up clues here and there, and he's quite forthright when I ask him things...

Hi there NB
hi all
hi, Kallia
hi there diane, I don't believe we've met before :)
I don't think so either... nice to meet you :-)
I'm loving this game. :-)
you too :)
I recognized your St. Andrew's flag.... :-)
I've been here for a long time, allmost from the start, great game. Every so often I take a break but I always come back!
I'm not actually in Scotland, it's homage to my birth place
I live in England these days
where abouts in Canada are you?
I've been here since Sept. 25.... it took me a few days to get the hang of scoring, point system, etc. I love words, and believe me, I'm learning some new ones. !!
I've only ever visited Vancover Island
I'm in Alberta.... second province in from the west coast
okay.... I have siblings in Victoria... we were to have been on our way there this very day, but hubby had to have an emergency repair of a detached retina, so no flying or mountain travelling for 2 months !!
oh what a shame, I do hope your hubby is recovering well
I loved Victoria, that's where I stayed with a friend and she took me all over the Island
he's doing well.... I'm a good nurse, and I remember to baby him a bit too. I have 2 sisters and a brother there, and one brother up island in Pt. Mcneil.... Mom and Dad have both passed away
Oooh Sorry, I drifted off, Mike, if you are still there, yes we are supposed to get a rotating board.
and hello to everyone else!
hello Red
oh yes they love a bit of babying :)

Ugh sorry, I totally just drifted off to sleep. Hello Kallia, and everyone :)
I had to think for a moment... I haven't opened a flikr account yet... I use picasa.... Those were my 70th birthday roses !!
they are nice!
lol , np you need some early nights :)

You said it ;) but there's just too much to do...I wanna finish this bad boy!
oh nb, must get more rest...
I have to leave to make supper, but I'll be back for sure. I have 28 words left.
I have 40 left, so may see you a little later diane
I may have to ask for help.... there's a few toughies !!!!
see you diane... i have 59 left will get list soon...
Aw, thank you! It was taken after my housewarming party - I eventually fell asleep curled up under my new flatmate's sweatshirt, and some quick person took the pic..
Oh nooo Red...I got up at like...NOON, today!
later, friends :-)
bye diane
have a nice dinner Dianne!
NB I would like to have a private chat with you sometime, not tonight to late, I think you may be able to help me with something
any way we can do that...email?????
that's if you don't mind....I wont be offended if you say no
Oh yeah, Kallia? Sure, I'll do my best to help out...email works for me. palo_alto@live.co.uk is me :)
oh my, I have gotten the I's///
Uh oh, Red :P a tiny but terrifying group...
(I am very intrigued now Kallia!)
ok thanks.....I'll put Kallia in the subject line ok?
Sure thing :) Shouldn't go into my junk (I hope) but I'll check periodically!
well it's about my son...so maybe you nnow know
Well Kallia, I'll be as helpful as I can - no promises but will do my best :P
I just need a bit of help:)
thanks NB
no worries, just hope I can be useful!
I'm sure you will be
anyway back to find my last 40 if I am to get any sleep tonight :)
I'll email tomorrow. answer when you can no pressure

Good luck with that last 40 ;) last 80 for me...groan.
thnaks red....hard going today
If I manage to finish, this'll be the chubbiest grid I've ever conquered.
it was nice until it wasnt!
hey kids, how is everybody?
LOL...isnt that just true everyday (most)
hi JBV
lol Red. I'm sensing that...
Hi, JBV :)
hi jbv.
are we all watching the Chilean mine rescues? so emotional
halo, NB!! and kids! Xx!
I saw bits and pieces today!
hi Gerorge
hi george!
Hello, George!! nice surprise to see you here - I'm never sure what corner of the earth you might be in at any particular moment ;)
I have the TV on and keep running in and out to see eachrescue - # 28 is next I think
ha, yeah, my own--at home!!
JBV I am with you,,finding this so amazing,,,trying not to miss any part of it,,,,
you on messy?
I am, yeah - set to 'away' just in case I fall asleep (likely!) but I am there :)
those damned C's are dead!
halo, redturtlehead!! xx
and everyone looks so good,,,
good job on the C's Kalia!
hello all
halo, Bugsaw! Xx!
Hiya, Bugs :)
Hi George. Still trying to find a picture of me I am willing to post. Thot I would post an ancestor instead.
Hi NB. So good to see you back here. We have not been on at the same time in a heck of lnog time
*long time
Hi redturtlehead. I love your giant anenome. Did you know that they will eat hot dog weiners?
i did not know that bugs, goodness...
Thanks, Bugs, lovely to see you too! I'm guessing the 'ancestor' thing is an icon theme? Too boring for me - all my ancestors look like me, just in different clothes :P
post where, Bugsaw? and why not post a pic of yourself, on your page, like??
Yes, many years ago, I was at a beach party and some drunk guy decided he didn't want his hot dog so he stuck it in the anenome who closed its little arms all around it and held on. It stayed there for days, just got shorter and shorter
yeah, NB, it was the theme today, which is over in 4 more mins here, ha!
so I've got an ancestor and a relative in mine!! that's my sis Siobhan's little girl!
does your mum count as an ancestor though?!?
wait the theme is ancestors?
I have a few
Don't see why not George, although I certainly wouldn't count my own mother as one ;)
yeah, 'most surprising relative/ancestor' is the icon theme for today!
Of course parents count as ancestors. I don't have any pirates of thieves that I know of but I was missing my Dad this weekend so I used him.
don't have any surprising ones in our family really, but my mum's strength has surprised me over the years!! so there you are, that'll hafta do!
by surprising you mean, "ohmygosh I didn't know I was related to them!" kind of thing?
I don't do the icon theme every day but it seems to be very important to Jillibus and she is so great, I do it more for her
I suppose, yeah, something like that?? none like that in our family though, but some of my family surprise me at times, you know how it is!!
and if anyone of them do, it's most often my mum and this little niece of mine, ha!
I have hundreds of weird relatives but I wasn't sure what kind of surprise they were hoping for tcn
oh ok well in that case..
here is my most surprising ancestor
uh oh..hmm
wonder why it's not showing
reload the page, m8!
then it will!!
is it working now?
nope
darn
yeah, that worked!!
it did?
you can see the guy with the shoe?
I reloaded the page and it shows now, the babble site page, like........
I hit refresh and it worked tcn. try it.
cause I cant
ooooh ta daaaaa
not that I know who he is--should add a blurb about him in your bio, beside the pic??
thanks Bugs
so what is your number tcn?
you should do the same, Bugsaw, cos no one knows why you've put that pic in there otherwise!?
number??
I don't think I have any surprising relatives. Goes back to the Goguryeo warriors so I guess I'm related to the original samurais. Actually, considering me, that's pretty surprising...
there
now y'all can read about him
Thanks George. I did say what it was but I guess I forget to hit something and it says my Dad is a paper doll!!!
yeah, I don't either, NB, but mine would probably all say they have one--me, ha!
ha, ha, Bugsaw!!
I saw that Bugsaw...made me smile :)
oh yeah, tcnjgrad?? interesting, but you should say how he's related to ya!?
haha, George! well I don't think my relatives were totally prepared for me, either :P
Fixed it now but I haven't found many words yet. lol
we lost my dad 7 years ago, Bugsaw
okie, did it
yeah, NB, doesn't seem like it, sad that!!
oh yeah, cool tcn!!
screw 'em ;)
handsome fella, he was!
no ta, NB!! not even if I was desperate, lol!
hello! NB!! George!!!
LOL! I think you know that's NOT what I meant :P
Hi, M9!
You guys crack me up!!! Hi m9
any lawyers on? I actually need one for once!
well.. my friend does.
halo, m9!! Xx! congrats on our scrabble game, btw!!
Thought I'd babble for a few and let my brain spin around on what to do.
why thank you! we were close there!
what's the trouble, m9?
I did some transporting for my friend today. Took her mom to cancer center, picked up son from school and drove him home. While there.. sherriff came to arrest her! Luckily he said it was up to him..and decided not to arrest her right there but to put it to a grand jury or something...
can we listen even if we aren't lawyers m9?
Hi all, Bugs - there aren't enough teachers with the attitude of your Father, easy to see why you followed in his footsteps.
blimey, arrest her for what??
what was she being arrested for, if you don't mind me asking?
her whack job druggy sister vandalized the mom's house a while ago. after the house had a fire...
Hi flosey. Nice to see you again too and thanks for the kind words.
well then why's she being arrested??
her mom was really not doing well with cancer treatments and left the stove on.. and there was a fire while mom was at hospital.
just popped in to check on tomorrow's theme
sister has accused her of insurance fraud.
how terrible families can be to each other!! Makes me so mad sometimes
sister's daughter is a runaway from foster home right now.. and plans were in motion for my friend to have the girl. I think sister is just so messed up and broken that she has fixated on the idea of ruining my friend's life to feel better about herself.
that makes sense and probably did to the cop too
I hope so. but it's pretty serious.
and she can't afford a lawyer. Sometimes those nut jobs can sell a story pretty well. I'm hoping all her craziness catches up with her this time.
And it totally messes up the plan for the neice.. who is now on the street again!
Don't they appoint lawyers for those who can't afford them, M9?
Our ministry in BC has decided that they won't put a child in foster care unless they have to so they put the guilt on other family members to take the kids. They forget sometimes how much more complicated it can be to do it that way.
god, what a mess and yeah, what about legal aid?!?
So..... I got online to look up the local CASA. They are usually appointed by a judge, but maybe we can get that in motion.. so the neice has someone looking out for her.
it's drugs. drugs just mess things up so badly.
I was also on here to get the phone number of a retired lawyer I know in our area. Teaches the church class I'm going to tonight and that my friend sometimes goes to. Thought I'd see if he'd meet me early tonight.
oh yeah, know a lot about that, I do--was very messed up on them for a time myself, don't touch'em now though, don't even drink now and have almost entirely kicked the cigarettes as well!! still battling that one, keep on fighting though!
yeah, that might be a good idea, m9, ring him?!
don't forget that lawyers and judges have seen this scenario a thousand times before and they will recognize that Mum has an underlying agenda.
should think so, Bugsaw, yeah
that is SO great George. Ugh.. there were smoker's outside her apartment today. It sure smells nasty. Especially the ones who have a day (or more's) worth of the smell on them!
Haven't smoked for five weeks myself. *smug*
oh Nancy! That's great~! I was hoping you'd stick with it. Frank too?
yeah, sure does, realised after giving it up how much better it is without!! yeah, read that on the updates, NB, so proud of ya, kid! Xx!
AWESOME NB!
you are doing so well with all that George. Even doing bikram at 7:00 a.m.!!
I know... yoga! awesome
yeah, can you imagine, me getting up that early now, Bugsaw?? ha, ha! doing it though!!
awww, thanks everyone!! (George, a certain friend of ours threatened to stop talking to me if I started up again :P)
oh yeah? ha, good for him--that'll make ya stay off'em, lad!!
Don't know HOW you are doing that, George. So early in the morning my eyes are watering!
5 weeks NB!! well done. It was hard to quit smoking but once I got that far I just did it day by day for life. I know if I had even one I would remember why I enjoyed it
Congrats to you too George!
oh...phone! maybe it's the bishop!!
yeah, it's bad if you have one again, that happens to me once in a while when I'm really stressed out! I'll have one, then two or three or more, then just stop again, get right back on the wagon!!
Good for you George
I go back on the patch when that happens, helps me not to light up again for a while, use those ecigarettes as well
ta, car.eeyore!
May I please have help with the middle column E's?
Sorry! Just the center E!
ei4/5 is almost a duck?
Fish! TY!
short a letter (last consonant)
tx George
yw Bugs!
Good for you, George...I think if I had one now I'd be lost forever. Couldn't actually bring myself to throw my remaining cigs away so I had to give them to friends.
why would ya want them to smoke?? I don't have any trouble breaking up and throwing away the nasty cancer sticks!!
especially not after seeing my mum develop emphysema from smoking!!
she quit the moment she was diagnosed, threw out her last packet of fags right there in the bin in the doc's exam room and never lit up another--she says she wouldn't put another to her lips even if she was offered £1,000,000 or more to!!
A large majority of my friends smoke, and refused to quit with me. So, someone might as well get some use out of them.
Good for your Mum. I am sorry she had to get to the point of diagnosis before she had the strength tho.
But I gave them to a friend who smokes Gitanes. He tells me my American Spirits are "wimpy".
it was really affecting me as well, knew if I didn't quit I was headed that way!! was really ruining my voice, should send you clips of me singing when I was still smoking heavily a few years ago and then some from over this past year since I quit, NB!! what a differe4nce, it's very noticable!
yeah me too, Bugsaw, but she would be loads worse off if she hadn't quit when she did!!
don't matter, NB, shouldn't have given them to anyone, only helping them to ruin their health, wouldn't help anyone to do that!!
really, George! I have seen a few from this past year (yes, you're sounding lovely!) - good that you quit before you did permanent damage to your voice!!
yeah, I worried about that but it was affecting my breathing pretty bad, I've had pretty bad asthma since birth and it deffo wasn't helping that!!
hello everybody
hi jac
heya NB!!!
halo
hi Bug
Yeah, I'd say!! I guess I'm lucky I got a wake-up call to quit before any real, permanent damage was done. Well, knock wood, anyway.
hello George, sorry was distracted, am watching the chilean rescue on tv

Life goes on jac. How is your going? Any good stuff to report?

I am wondering about the castle jac. Walls 2 meters thick are not likely to tip over so what is the safety worry?

sound nice that, jacq, lovely pic there!!
Only 3 more miners to go
Thank God!
ty George, i was going to change it fr this amazing place we went to at the weekend, but i doubt my pics would do it justice
i've been watching the rescue on and off all day, keeping my fingers crossed
if you want to google dunnottar castle, it was amazing

so many good lines from old Tom

yep! The amazing thing is if you look at the lyrics of My Home Town, and realize that it was written in the 50's!
the pe, is some of the word for one who walks
Slap me with a fish. I was going the wrong way. Fireworks
makes the idea of "the good old days" pretty questionable...
wtg wht!!!
Congrats wht!
So the my last word was what powers a bike.
I love the one where Aristotle complains about the youth of his today. Sounds like now...

just off to bed in a min
am staying up to watch the last miner come up
I can't figure out the ending to the pe 8....
It is such an amazing thing. I always worry about miners
pe
The pe8 starts sounding like your feet then there is a consonant and the ending rhymes with the skin on your head.
whoa, that was a great clue wht, thanks
(frowns) didn't work for me :(
Greetings Babble buddies!

nite George
nope
I have to go now. Catch you all later. Happy Babbling.
bye wht
Bye wht!
good night, George!! x
well, then, to be completely technical, it's a specific pair of the front appendages of the spider, specialized for feeding. Hence the latin for foot part of the word we all recognize.
Ah, he's gone? I'll text...
Bye George!
it ends with what you do when you go out with a guy
if it had a di in front of it it would mean a ruined or negelcted building
TY Jacq! Got it!

Hey Jmitch!
heya jmitch
I had to ask for it too! Its the goose sounding one
*waves*
sorry * goose down
It's almost the name of a type of duck, jmitch.
Hi Car
Hi everyone, especially Scrabbler...
hmmmm. right on the tip of my tongue....will monkey about with those clues. thanks all
Hi Red!
OK! Off to put the boys to bed!
I am trying to sit up after taking my motrin, so I dont erode my esophagus, whoo hoo.
bye car
heya red
I just took "Zantac" because of heartburn after eating veggie chili.
I rarely get heartburn, thank goodness.
i only get it when i eat fast food
and since i loathe fast food that's never an issue
Scrabbler, what do you think of singulair vs albuterol for exercise induced asthma in someone who also has allergic rhinitis?
I always prefer a topical/local med over a systemic one. Drug of choice for asthma control = inhaled corticosteroid.
Do you flare up when you run and swim?
I am finding that I am not doing very well with the inhalation, and only have symptoms when running or swimming. lots of coughing and having to stop to catch breath.
number 32 is up and safe
In the "old" days premedicating with albuterol was advised. Now exercise-induced asthma is viewed as mild persistent asthma that requires daily use of an inhaled steroid. e.g. QVAR, Pulmicort, Flovent. You could have PFTs done, start inhaled steroid tx, then redo PFTs. I bet you will improve with numbers and overall performance with running + swimming.
pe 8/60?
I have no 7s, 8s or the 9--I just started.
aw thanks anyway!
I had pft's done by an allergist yesterday they were wonderful, of course, but I would have preferred to try the singulari, he wanted to give me like 5 different scripts. I really just want the singulair, since each time I try to inhale I dont get but 1/4 of the med.
7 words - very easy fyi
I find Babble relaxing before I go to bed.
Cos think feet
I actually disliked that MD so much that I am thinking about not going back.
pe8.60 is food + vowel + friend + consonant
Red, then you need a spacer!
they told me I didnt need one with that particular medication, another reason I think I will try to get my new primary who may also stink, to handle it better. I'm not liking these local MD's much.
hi everyone
thanks!
Hi dawg
cosdem - the first 4 letters refer to feet + when you are in love your heart ***itates (another word for beats)
got it ty all
Hi lbd
sorry wrong letter
hiya, scrabs! hiya, bugs
Every MDI is far more effective with a spacer. 70% of adults have been shown to not use their MDI correctly. Or use a DPI--Pulmicort.
Well, that pretty much indicates that I need to not go back and see that guy again, he was all into doing the skin tests for allergens and stuff, which I let him do but I should have told him to skip it.
ψ Ψ ψ Ψ ψ ↠W I R E F O R K S → ψ Ψ ψ Ψ ψ

wow JC wtg!!!!!
well done JC !
Alrighty, I must go to sleep. thanks Scrabbler, that helps me a lot, I go back to the doctor on tuesday. (the new Primary doc that is).
40 to go
nite red
What does that mean
Well done, Julian!! I have the added benefit of knowing how crazily quickly you did that. Inhuman, just inhuman :P
Thank you, cosdem, jacq and Bugsaw! :)
I did go well over halfway yesterday morning though - so was only a matter of completing it now. ;)
RAST is now more helpful than skin tests. And you can already guess what you are allergic too--trees, grasses, weeds, etc--and you can't avoid any of it. So use nasal steroid spray + inhaled steroid. And you will soon be in an Ironmand!
It's easy when you list, Jesse...
Yes. I am having the RAST allergy test done.
That's the sad thing - I AM listing ;)
i am watching tv and not really focussing, but number 33 is about to get into the capsule
i have 211 to go
go jac go!
What are you stuck on, Jesse?
lol \\bug am so not going to finish, am off to bed as soon as number 33 hugs his wife
132 to go and I will go to bed when miner #33 is up.
lol snap scrabbler
What does that PE 8 mean please
but i do have all the 8's and the 9
Both of us, jacq, but you are 5 hrs ahead of me.
apparently it's a spider
battery will die soon, so I might disappear
yes almost 2 am here
spider legs
O my never mind I just realised something stupid. I was looking at the wrong P
very specific ones, that do something or other.
ty brid, now i can baffle my stepdad even more
THank you. Herin is an idito
the start of it is the latin root for foot. so it at least, follows....somehow. sorta.
but that's it for me
the parts that are near the mouth
happy babbling....and baffling.
Bye Brid
there he goes!
this is the man who saved all their lives, he started rationing their food immediately
nite brid
There are 4-5 rescue workers down there that still need to come up.
5 i think
would be weird to be down there alone
the coverage of this has been amazing
We have 2 of the survivors of the Beaconsfield mine accident on our tv.
i hope they can return to a normal life soon
i hope they put a handle inside the door of the capsule too, so the last man can close it properly
hello babble friends
Hi Trifs. I swear this am is a litre of coffee day
heya trifioso
can I ask for prayers tomorrow please? its my court date
Will do Trifs
i don't pray but will send positive thoughts your way
thank you.
Trifs bear hug
And I will mentally send Wolfie to protect you too
he's up
It will be greatly strengthening to know you all have my back, albeit in cyber land.
I swear this is the first genuine smile I have had for two days
trifs i hope it goes better than you could ever have hoped for
I hope we get it all settled tomorrow. it's enough now.
hi, babblers
he's up and safe and i feel quite emotional
(good luck tomorrow, trif)
heya welki
Hi Welki
Ooh, where's everyone gone all of a sudden? JC, are you still around?
('cause I could use an 'ed' clue if you are ;))
Everyone? Yes, Jesse. Answering email...
Ah. For which one?
teaching
watching tv and hoping words finds me
Any mate, they're all in my last 15!
sorry wrong window
ed words mean to teach
Well the ed7,40 and two ed8s have to with teaching, as jacq just said. ;)
Actually yes - that is all of the 'ed' words.
Oh DUH. Told you I was slow - not just today but always :P thanks!!
fireworks!
bedtime now, take care folks
And I told you this grid's much easier than you think, didn't I? ;)
YAY cosdem
Congrats, cosdem!
ohh, bravo Cosdem!
'night jacq
Not at all Julian, I am pulling teeth with this grid :P
pretty much the easiest grid ive done
is the da 6 word a fish? or am I blind?
d + fruit
he rode a da***** mare
or what cos said :)
or.. d + what I am
a fish. thanks cosdem
I was just going to say that, welki.
yw :)
finally have the bottom row blackened
Hello...
how's the pup, jc? must be over a year old now
He is over a year, yes - and doing well, thank you. :)
still terrorizing your other dog? or have they reached an "agreement?"
Oh no, welki - they're fine now. :)
Oh yes, they were very well behaved last time I had the pleasure of seeing them!
mine have become best friends, too :)
Ah, didn't know about yours?
we've had them for some time, but it took a while (and still, neither of them have assumed an "alpha" role - seems like they take turns)
aww, good to hear, Welki!
Ah, I see. How old were they each when you acquired them?
(btw Julian, we should do lunch again when you're less busy! I'll email you)
baxter was a puppy; we had an aged basset hound when we adopted him. then, about a year after reggie died, we adopted a border collie (don't know exactly how old he was when we took him in, maybe 1.5 or 2)
so our dogs were almost the same age when they became brothers .. and now they're almost 4
...or thereabouts :)
evening all
hi, dan (happy baby :)
thanks - she definitely is, most often
May I please have a clue for ap5-14 the 1st? Thanks
Ah yes. I see, welki...
Yes, Jesse. Won't be for some time though, with my schedule over the next while.
ap 5/14 ap + friend
hi peach, luv
hi welki
Thanks so much, Luv.
yw peach
Hi there, welki.
This should work, welki - snapped this of them on the beach a couple of weeks ago, with the iphone. http://tinyurl.com/2bde7ga
You may have to click on the photo, to enlarge it to full size in your browser.
howdy gals and guys...
ohh, hello Pav! :)
was out most of the day..thought I'd try to finish...
Good early morning, PAV.
I'm trying to grasp whether your photo is a photo that's been "touched", alomst like a painting...NB
May I please have a clue for la8-50? Thanks.
Sir JC! how "early" is it there?
hmmm, not that I'm aware of, Pav! It's not a good quality picture - not sure if that's anything to do with it? ;)
la 8/50 la + vowel + what's on a calendar
usually you here the la8 as part of a word (not here) meaning rundown and in shambles...dila8
it's about half past two in the morning here, Pav! Check out JC's link, it's adorable :)
la what you get when you sit.... + first person pronoun... + going on a _ _ _ _ with your sweetie
it seems to me to be a mix of photo washing with sepia undertones, quite artistic
ehh?? blimey Pav, all surprises to me - I didn't take the picture (er, clearly!) so I'll have to ask the photographer...as far as I know it was taken with a mobile phone, though.
Then again, what I know about photography, you could write on the back of a stamp.
It's 2:30 am, PAV - early enough for you?
Thanks, Luv and diane.
well some mobile phones do have poor lenses and thus poor imagery. It just looks pleasant enough to be artistic IMHO.
yw peach
Dear me Sir! it's way past your bedtime and when I catch up, it'll be way past my bedtime, even when I'm on staycation!
Oh, and thanks to PAV3.
well thank you very much, PAV ;)
I'm soory peach, did I throw you for a loop? sometimes my clues are cryptic enough...it's a hit/miss thing
I've not been using my freetime on vacations well, or I'd have photos to show myself...
No, dear, it just takes a little for my brain to click into gear. Thanks.
ohh, I would love to see some photographs you take, Pav. Sounds like you know your stuff!
brain in gear...hmmm? I may want to do that sooner than not...
NB...i use to take seven rolls of 36 exposure 35mm film to produce one shot worth saving...thank goodness for digital...now not soo much adventurism left in me...
Hrrm. Pe8 please, anyone? I keep entering words that aren't 8 letters and have no chance of being in the grid...like 'peyote'...just words I like.
Well as long as you produced something worth saving, Pav, I'd say it was all worth it! I prefer to be in front of the camera than behind it, though. If I'm taking the photo, odds are some unfortunate will have their head cut off..
my grandmother use to tell me she hated being in pictures...the spanish folk of yore sometimes felt a picture steals a person's soul...for the most part, mine are landscape photos..
ahhh, I prefer to think that my soul isn't stolen but just rather well preserved ;)
pe8,60 = pe**(cure), to beautify the feet (toenails) and ****ate, as a doctor would examine a patient with the hands and fingers.
And PAV - check your email. ;)
hmmm clues worth running after....email too?
Yes. :)
Thanks, Julian! I'll puzzle that one out ;)
was on phone .. jc! it's a wonderful pic! thanks :)
Ah. Thank you - thought you might enjoy that, welki. :)
Okay, that's not a real word. And if it is, it's ridiculous!
(thank you :))
I love the pic! my neighbor actually tipped me onto another "spoiling" - lighted collars and leads for walking the dogs...I'm night-blind so any help to make sure I "see" my poopies is worth it...
Well, yes. That's what I thought, Jesse.
yeah, I'm with NB..a word my feet!
Ah. That's a good idea, PAV - for purposes of visibility when walking them along a roadside at night.
Took me long enough, anyway...
or in the middle of a condo complex where even the pathlights are dim...
Sure. Anything like that...
or at the top of ones wtairway, when sleeping/guarding and my bad eyes can't make out a shape much less a dog or a wall...
that's fireworks for me, then. officially the chubbiest grid I ever vanquished.
Hooray for NB!
ψ Ψ ψ Ψ ψ ↠W I R E F O R K S → ψ Ψ ψ Ψ ψ For . . . *** Jesse *** !!! :)

hi Jellen!
Hi, PAV...
oooh what a charming display, Julian ;) and thanks, couldn't have got there without your help!
Hi, Jellen...
You're quite welcome, Jesse. ;)
whew .. fireworks here, too. what a chore
Hi, J.C.
yay welki!
and thanks, all. intellectually drained now :P
bravo, Welki!
Hooray for welki!!!
Yes. Time for sleep...
yes - I was going to say I should go lie down in a darkened room, but then I realised, that's pretty much just going to bed.
lol, NB...
Off to Horsham later today...
NB...I put ear muffs on at times to prevent intellectual drainage...does it work?
Go lie down? What about sleep?
Hmmm. You think the grey matter can leak out of the ears, PAV?
Depends on the company, I'd say, J.C....
Or just the intellectual matter it contains? :P
I've got to be awake again in about an hour anyway! not like that'll stop me from drifting off, I am completely shagged...
or knackered rather, sorry.
well the grey matter has already started to spring forth from my head..so leakage would be inconsequential...
take a power nap, NB!
if the hairstyle fits NB
Well I was shagged, a little earlier - now I'm simply knackered, yes. :P
NBwere you been hidin
hae there, mi'Lady!

Well if you must go sleep, I hope you rest well...
LOL Julian. Behave :P
night NB..or shall I say g'day
Hello Pav how are you and yours and the poopies?
Always am, Jesse - it's merely a question of how. ;)
we are resting comfortably on another Phoenix evening..sun just set a few mins ago
thank you, Jellen :) believe me, I shall!
I believe J.C. is behaving naturally...
Was I supposed to put a comma in there somewhere?
Thank goodness it is warm as the heating thermostat has crapped out
wait, isn't is springtime there?
Yes. But it was rather 4 quilts needed cold last night
ahhh. it has been a bit chilly here at night as well...60's
It was about 50 here last night
hello all I have finished. my last word was luke warm
I'm down to 3 words.... need to ask for help

id7 is plural of id6
plural of the 6 if you have that

Hi Diane
hello dan and pretty baby

May I please have a clue for sw6-33? Thanks

what? that's not duh that's goood

yayyyy... thanks new friends !! those were the only 3 that I had to ask for help.
sw 6 inserts a consonant before the last letter of sw 5/20
PAV.... you are in Phoenix ?
Congrats, diane!!!
need pe8 and la8
yes, mam, here in the Valley of the Sun, where solar isn't an option...too expensive. go figure
woo hoo diane nicely done!
yay Diane!
our son is down in Casa Grande for 10 days, doing a little golfing and wife...shopping, of course. He built a home there 5 years ago, and we go down there for 2 months, in Jan, / Feb.
It's about an hour's drive from me.
the pe8 is first part of toenails polished etc and same as first letter and end of skin on your head
He uses it when he can get away .... and hey... they are starting to build some homes in his community ( Mission Royale ) with solar everything !
pe 8 = pe**cure (pamper your toes) + *u** Fiction (John Travolta and Uma Thurman movie) substitute first vowel for u
that was for dan
Thank much, Jellen
thanks everyone, for the congrats !! I really enjoy this game :-)))
what a weird word
la 8 is similar to el 6 + consumed
ty Jellen and westford and all cluers - firewords!
Quintan Tarantino movie, that is...
diane that sounds ideal a home in AZ
Hooray for dan!!!
Yay dan !!
a solar home in AZ is the dream...alas, regulations get in the way...
lots of 'solar' there lol
you'd think they would be all for it
pav you remember my brother in law and his wife moved there?
too hot for them by June..they're back in CO
yeah, I work for the Corp Comm which regulated the public utilities here in AZ..you'd think the public would be all for it, but the industry is disadvantaged here by the "electric" utilities...it'll be an issue quite rapidly
Last winter down there wasn't the best... we were there when they got that big rainstorm and had to close down the airport... Jan 21 I think. Our daughter and hubby just made it in before they closed it. .... same time as all the snow in Flagstaff.
May-October it is generally 100+ with an occasional spell...
all the weather has been wonky diane
pav we were laughing ..what did they expect?
we had hail about a week ago..
he's the same one who moved to Seattle and said..it rains a lot here lol
got in lots of golf though, so it can't have been THAT bad !! I'm beginning to really like it down there... one gets used to the sand and small gravel, instead of grass lawns, etc.
Oct-Mar is the best time for those not used to "warm" weather...
probably would find it "windy" in Chicago too LOL
diane is your son a contractor..you said he built a home there
Ugh! we're trying to spruce up our condo complex after years of landscapers that turned us into rocks and dirt...
yes, he doesn't research places very well I'm thinking
Albuq/Chicago..not sure which is windier.
May I please have a clue for me6-24 the 2nd? Thanks
Portland is very green! quite lush...San antonio is also nice, for the most part...
dole out to your father peach
and north central Cali is beautiful with the trees and higher elevation lakes and such...
lol,i can sow you a levee on our shore of Georgian bay, where in the winter it is so windy off of the bay with the prevailing wind that you can have ideas blown away lol
Thanks much, westford.

Hi there. Jellen and westford.
yes herin?
Best Ereader for reading PDF with external memory port if needed
for pdf i would go with a sony ready, for pdf and e-pub i would choose the nook reader
I copied down the info crossy will do
the reason i say sony for pdf is because sony dan display in portrait or landscape mode and pdf works well in landscape mode
B.f wants a page per page
the nook can only do portrait mode but excells in e-pub files
then go with the sony 6 inch touchscreen reader herin
sw5-20 rhw 1st please....thanks
good for doccuments,textbooks,and scientific texts

Price is not an option. I don't want to get an Ipad due ot issues
cool westford, they are doing great things at stanford.you should be proud
she's so smart and pretty and young...I hate her lol
then herin there is the top of the line sony called "daily edition reader"
it has a 7 inch display and wi-fi and 3 g
Ok what about the Kobo?
the kobo is a basic entry lever reader only
almost lepidotes
it is fine but very, very basic
change some vowels chug
Ok. Do you know if I can get the 7inch and import it?
you can get any sony reader shipped world wide
i have the nook and the wife has a sony
O thanks but what about the 3g is that locked?
hubby has an iPad
i researched the hell out of the e-reader market lol
I need to try it out for babble
the i-pads are ok for what they are westford ,but untill they can take flash,i will have to pass
I know that's the rub
That is why I asked Cross
3 g rules and regs differ from country to country,so you will have to research a bit herin but the wi-fi will suffice
Problem is the 3g thing
it is a big rub westford
What about the Kindle Crossie?
he uses it when he travels to meetings just downloads things from his computer before he goes
if he wants to do a ton of surfing a reader is not what he wants herin, even the best wi-fi capable and 3 g reader machine should be considered always and formost a reader..you want to surf heavy duty..get a net book
the kindle has its own issues....
it has severly proprietary software limitations herin
does he have a birthday coming up herin?
you can ONLY load books from amazon
no e-pub
Christmas
That seems a bit daft
ok, back in...will try to upload some pics of Joey in his lighted collar
oh how cute pav
It does Support it Cross but you need to convert what a pain in the ass
they do it so you cannot download your own books online herin
seriously herin it is the sony or the nook, but you have to have someone buy the nook for you in the states
37 left, wovels are done
the kobo is fine for reading only....no frills
are those the same as vowels pav? lol
the nook has a user changable battery, all the rest you have to send in
I like the kindle size. But those issues are a bit poo
they get you coming and going
i am off to watch a movie herin, any other concerns i can help you with?
Bye, crossy
bye crossy..what movie?
not sure..the mrs is choosing tonight
odeah! as said in my Boston accent so as not to throw oneself into the PB...the monkeys are dilexic today...
k then tc all and happy babbling..poof
Not really but if you think of a website that compairs the too that would be great
well enjoy !!
night crossy! la7 anyone?

West I am a good g.f and want to get him something
I know you are herin he will be thrilled
mi'Lady, you are a wonderful find, indeed!
I am wanting to do some research about it all first. He doesn't want an ipad that is for sure
crossy is a very good source
I am taking everything everyone has said on board. I don't like to not research
more people should do that
it's 11:00 p.m. here I should probably do laundry or something before the flip
how about fixing my dinner west? I'm lazy when I don't have to work...;)

othewrwise, it'll be PBand J, or another pizza...

I thought you said it was salmon for dinner
ok , well off you go then..I do have frozen salmon steaks, yes...
you could make a nice omelet if you have eggs
can you defrost them in the microwave?
it's the grilling I don't want to do...and yes , have eggs..was thinkgin about making a pineapple upside down cheesecake...
now you're talking
still in the thinking stage though

I can appreciate self sufficiency, I wish I had more...!
it is the Meeting House where I am a member
brings back memories of a church I was a part of...did alot for them, and extended my knowledge base doing handyman work, when my hands were screaming for kid-gloves and relief...
i never liked gloves
but it took me a week to get the concrete off my fingers
had to keep my hands safe for the calculators and keyboards!
lol
