Did you see the bit in the paper yesterday where a young couple are petitioning to have the church bells stopped during the night?
Oh? really. Ours don't count the hours during the night but do strike the quarters.
They should get some decent double glazing.
They're getting no support from the rest of the village who have never had a problem sleeping through. They strike the hour through the night.
I must say the bells never bother me during the night. I doubt they will win their case then.
They've brought forward some evidence to show that their sleep pattern is disturbed. However, theirs is the only complaint and it's apparently a very complicated process to undo the night time sounding. There was the standard press photograph of unhappy couple gazing towards the church.
Hows the grid today, I haven't had a chance to look at it yet.
It's nice so far, there seems to be plenty of opportunity for add-ons.
I may have to pass on it till later as I have quite a lot on today.

Yeah, but those wedding bells are collapsible. You can fold those ghosts up and use them year after year for decorations. I have a Thanksgiving turkey like that.

once we had a task to fulfill for a badge..it was the "design your own space"..and litterallyin the handbook it suggests that kids ask their parents if they can paint a wall using a paint technique WTF????????
i went to dollar store...bought little wodden boxes with lids... primed them... i got sample bottles of paint....in 3 colours
and i got glaze
i painted the bottoms of the boxes in the 3 diff colours...so 8 of each colour
made the glaze from remaining paint... in each bottle... took the glaze and the boxes in...and got little dollar store scrapbook dolls to tak on once done
the smooshed, ragged/ sponged ( had to choose one)...and now..they had themselves a little "time capsule" box...( and the time capsule was a challenge for another badge they were working on)
i still have mine..i have 2...they were leftovers

our insurance at work went up 42% because my son had to have pins, screws and plates put is his ankle. It was because it was our first year on this particular plan with our carrier we've been with for 5 years (but using other plans). Our company shopped around and found other carriers at about the same premium we are currently paying.
I am concerned about the attitude of "the government should take care of me because I can't/won't/don't want to."

I think I'll stick with the singulair, as it also helps with nasal allergy symptoms. I dont take it every day, so I can stretch the 30 day rx out for almost 6 weeks. It really is a fabulous medication.
I feel pretty lucky with the insurance I have now, it is much better than what I had before.

part of the problem with health care - as with the animal agriculture system - is that people would rather not think about the unpleasant truths of the existing system. with health care, people are horrified if you start talking about rationing care on any basis, without recognizing that we currently ration care on the basis of whether you have money. with animal agriculture, most people haven't any idea how terrible the suffering resulting from factory farming is. and if you try to tell them things like that, it produces so much cognitive dissonance that they just forget it as quickly as possible.

sometimes my sisters in law say the word healthy so many times it's a turnoff to my other sister in law and me. they are so obsessed with what they eat and other people eat, but their marriages are not "healthy". The one sister in law even has her 20 year old daughter talking about black beans and fat free hot dogs for our cookouts!

Red, my older two are 18 months apart. They got a set of walkie-talkies given to both of them and they were just fine with that.

Oh yeah, JillyJill. They have to have decided and no changing their mind by the beginning of OCtober if they want me to make it! Son will be a phoenix and daughter a Hogwarts-type witch. But then school just last Friday announced that kids should wear a costume representing a vocab word, so we had to put something else together, too. But they were fine in the end.
i can sew i worked my way through college patching jeans (patches on jeans were all the rage back in the vi ctorian years in which i went to college)

I always sew something or other for my kids, although they're getting old enough now I may soon have to tell them they have to make their own.

my husband and i went as acrossword puzzle (me ) & a pencil (him) . when we got to the party we parked on a hill and he got out almost the felt tube that was the pencil did not allow for much stride, the emergency brake failed and the car started rolling backward. I was stuck in the seat because my puzzle a sancwich board with a crossword was on both sides of the seat. we rolled down the hill, bob rolled free , the car went over a 4 ft retaining wall and landed in a neighbors yard. at least i didnt drop the brownies... Needless to say it was our last costume party

yep. for things like biscuits and "savory" foods I use unflavored soy milk. for other things almond milk or vanilla-flavored soy.

probably was always there -- I tended to have all kinds of skin, digestive and respiratory problems as a child. When pregnant with our elder surviving child couldn't tolerate cow things, and once off them the allergy got worse and worse. the eggplant one has always been really bad -- skin bleeds on contact.

I know it makes a difference... just haven't had money when I had time. you know... one of the children has perfect pitch, I have very excellent relative pitch (tinnitus makes things a little askew), so an out of tune instrument is like walking on glass shards for us.
