back in the saddle here. the funeral on friday was really lovely
lots of tears, but also a lot of laughter as the anecdotes of Braddie were told.one really lovely thing was that the girls put the urn with their mother's ashes in it, in the casket with their dad.
so , robyn and braddie have been buried together. at long last!

it is, isn't it? the girls are so good, altho the eldest did have a bit of a cry as we sang amazing grace. now to get on with our own lives, with 2 extra to consider. their aunty is their legal guardian, but she is consulting with me every step of the way.

My son once dressed our very small whippet Clancy in a cossie, which he thought resembled a pirate's outfit. He was in a play at the local fete. She, Clancy, normally the most sociable dog, talk to anyone, spend the time hiding her face in anything that she could find, which was on occasion the nearest skirt. It took her days to look at anyone.

Corn muffins in the oven. I found these cool things called "muffin tops" which are a bit flatter than regular muffin liners. You don't even need to use a muffin tin with them. Yowza.

years ago,i used to work with a itallian igloo style wood fired pizza oven.i loved that thing.you could cook anything in it
start a small fire in one corner,let the bricks heat up,wash them with your kitchen cloth on the end of a garden hoe and your all set

Crosshair, I was always insomniac, until I retired. Now I find I iften stay awake all night reading (or on Babble) but take four-hour naps in the daytime. Then, I have days when I'll sleep tenhours, wake long enough to have a cup of tea, then sleep another six hours. Good think I don't need to consider others.

When our kids were very young, we'd leave my husband and hers to give out candy, and my sister-in-law and I would take the kids to the neighbors, but only on their street, to people we knew. And later there would be a block-BBQ, Imagine going to a strange neighbourhood, and letting your kid accept candy from a stranger.
doesn't seem to be a problem here. many unsupervised
we live near a well to do subdivision that has a parade and the kids trick or treat in droves. many of the houses hand out beers to the parents and have firepits on the driveways. it's really pretty fun.

We have to put the kitten one on Lucius as the normal cat one he slips out of. Both don't have collars as they tend to annoy Pandora and Lucius slips out of his.
We have tons of windows and patio doors so they have lots of sun and air....

One of our adoptees had a home b4 us, the other one we don't think ever lived in a house...not feral but probably a barn cat....he's had the biggest adjustment and was the one complaining a minute ago
I'm just delighted to know you all. You are the most caring, helpful group of people I've ever known. I tell my friends about BABBLERS. I just don't like uncouth expressions to us...in general. Maybe it won't happen again.
