She's okay, being treated for colitis to try to get her back to normal again.

lynxxx, out of the blue she's been having digestive upsets, mainly in one direction... Fasting for 24 hours helps initially but then back to square one once food is given again. Medication is being given to help reduce inflammation etc.

you can't get a big turkey here. We used to go to Geneva, but it cost more than 125$ US for what they give away in American supermarkets. Just not worth it!

It's difficult to find a turkey in the stjores here that small unless you get just a breast

a medic...our location is so small that we go through triage first for sick call, then if it's bad enough, we get referred to the larger naval base 1.5 hrs away or to an off-base Spanish civilian doctor

I am all over the place, initial tests found i probably had high enough percentage to have an implant so put me forward, will know by 14th december if I can have one
boys are almost 18 and 8 and i would give almost anything to be able to hear them so hopefully I will eventually.
G&J, big, huge good wishes coming your way regarding the implant. I recently saw a video of a deaf baby hearing his mother's voice for the first time via implant and it made me cry happy tears.
my daughter is in college studying to be a speech pathologist. she has been learning sign - her instructors are both deaf. her goal is to become fluent and to translate

We don't sign as such as I am pretty good at lipreading, but we do more 'family' sign if we get stuck. Had deaf friends who could sign but I really couldn't keep up. good luck to your daughter. It's a wanderful thing to know

i've worked with a lot of deaf and hard of hearing adults. it's amazing how the cochlear implant has changed their lives. we still sign to each other when the noise level it too much tho.
I get so sick of being treated as if I am stupid or people not talking to me at playground at school because they are worried I might not understand them.

My daughter a manager at KFC, I dropped her off one day and popped in for popcorn chicken for the youngest ( rare treat) one of the girls started shouting at me slowly. I have never seen my daughter move so fast in telling her off. Apparently had staff in eeting at end of shift with how to talk talk to a deaf person bless her

I learned conversational Sign (SEE), but since I didn't/don't know anyone who's deaf, I've lost a lot of it...wish it was more commonplace so more people understood it's not necessary to yell, etc...
bless her indeed! there are two of us at the bookstore who sign. and when our deaf customers come in everyone is always hollering for one of us to help them. We've both told the other workers that if they can't sign they can write their questions down on paper. sheesh, it's not like these customers can't read! doh

With a pastry blender or fork, cut in 3/4 cup butter or margarine until mixture resembles course crumbs. Stir in apples and egg. Press mixture firmly in pan. Bake 25 30 minutes, or until puffed in center. While this is baking, combine all topping ingredients in a 1 quart saucepan. Cook over medium

We spend this entire weekend at the Cape with my entire extended family. Hanukkah starts Weds. December 1st. Our family Hanukkah party is at our house Saturday, December 4th.
