Hello everyone, just have a sneak peak at the grid. Who ordered all these vowels!
howdy
Hi Volley, nice to see you. BBL might go and get dinner done b4 I sit down to this
great to see you, too; enjoy!
Flosey, I like your icon -- in my young-and-silly days, I dated a Pinkerton man (who would be the first tom admit it was nothing like the old days, just security and bodyguarding), still a little of the romance of the day.
Morning Mari
Morning all - hi Diem

Hello hydra. 54 left and umpteen phantoms.

I have 172 left! Just started.
103 left and none in sight!
Oh yes and Pushkin screeches hello to Felix.
scouser, do you have the 8 and 9?
Felix is nose up tail on the futon next to me.

Beautiful photo, diem.

are we playing the same grid? :)
I'm stuck on 78, Dehha so you're doing well!
I must be having A brainstorm I'm not usually this quick!!
Hydra: yes an8 is scientific and unusual. Greek root for sun in middle
got all the gs wet mari?
I thought Greek root for sun began with h, and there isn't an h next to an n. That's why I'm stuck!

Got it now, scouser. Had to resort to More Words disctionary!

Hello, All..how many letters is the lone `E` please?
Morning zooz, don't know, am hunting it too.
Ok, thanks anyway, FM..i need it for NBT..lol
HAd a quick peek at lickety and I think it is either an ea 5/14 or 6/24.
oh ok..will try monkeying .
found it..it is the bird will an extra letter on the end.
wtg, jeez I hadn't even spotted the bird, thanks!
yw :-)
hello again, lunch is over!
Hello, Ruby :-)
Hey ruby.
ty for the bird clue, nbt now
I think winter is back, with a windy vengeance!
yw :-)
Not windy here, but feeling a bit raw..brrr
we've had a couple of weeks of above freezing temps, very strange for janusary
Same here, nice and mild..but that has all gone for now :-(
Its flipping cold here but above freezing, so I am still doing the layered look.
I tend to look like the michelin man! lol
Good day, friends. 22F here and will be only 10F on Sunday.
Now that is cold, hello, Scrabs :-)
oooh scrabbler, here is a skinny hug {{scrabs}}
Greetings Scrabs.
I just want daily fresh snow for XC-skiing.
Scrabs is a snow bunny :)
not me, nestled in front of the fire is more like it!!!
I have never learnt how to ski, do not think i would be good at balance..lol...does look fun though.
I`m with you on that one, Ruby..lol
I skiied downhill until two neighbors were gravely injured and one of them subsequently died, and he was younger than I!!!!
I have had a great skiing season so far. Cross-country/Nordic, zooz, is just walking when you start. Then you improve and glide and speed up. It's an incredible work ot.
Good gosh..how sad.
skiing was like dancing for me, gravity did the work and it felt great. Now, I'm too scared of having somebody crash into me
I gave away my skis and boots immediately after
What happened, Ruby? Head injury? I gave up downhill skiing 30 yrs ago.
Yes i can imagine it is a good workout, Scrabs, would like to try it..but my back would not be able to take it :-(
The speed, the ice, the fast youngsters all made me fear a serious injury.
Maybe it would strengthen your back, zooz.
one of them had someone run into him and fracture his pelvis, but he's back skiing (crazy fool!). The other one was a great skiier, had skied his whole life and happened to hit an icy patch, fell and severed his spinal cord high up, enough to leave him a quadraplegic
True...i do need to strengthen my back thats for sure.
Yikes! So tragic!
How sad is that, Ruby :-(
We used to ski in Austria, only 4 1/2 hrs from here, and I would always ski with a (big, red) instructor, not for lessons, but for protection.
I just got to be too nervous as I'm pretty small and if somebody crashed into me, I'd be dead
I am sure accidents like that are very rare though , Ruby, you should still ski if you liked it alot.
it was terribly sad, I went to the neighbor's 60th birthday party and his wife had hired two planes to form a smoke heart over the lake, and he died the next winter
The young skiers + boarders, esp male, like SPEED!
unfortunately, not so rare. There are a lot of out-of-control skiiers!
I am too old to risk getting injured
Surley there must be a segragated ar4 th4 people can go without fear of theses speeders.
I don't want to wreck a hip, knee, shoulder, elbow and then not be able to kayak, hike and mountain bike.
Sorry about my spelling.
Ski Patrol monitors the slopes.
Oh yes how is your hiking going, Scrabs, climbed any more mountains since your last one?
unfortunately, not, even in the fancy ski resorts (like Austria). We used to ski in St. Anton and Lech
All those outdoor activities must keep you pretty fit Scrabs. How are the bunnies by the way?
you sound tres sportive, scrabbler!!!
Fat but rather fit, and trying to lose wt.
The bunnies are so darn cute. They always make me smile.
lol is that you or the bunnies?
I can't believe that you are fat and can cross-country ski which is much more strenuous than downhill
ME. I need to lose quite a bit of wt.
eat beets!
I don't think I ever have.
wrap them in aluminum foil, bake for a couple of hours. They are magic!
and with a little bit of feta and olive oil and vinegar, they make a whole, low-cal meal
F, could you arrange for me to meet my new obsession: Rupert Penry-Jones. I have been watching all of the Spooks shows and am so enamored!!
oh yummmm
OK, Ruby, I will y hem.
spooks?
Yes, F, I say yum when I see Rupert.
my son taught me how to cook them -- so simple and you can leave them in the oven
I will see what I can do Scrabs *grin*
In the US the show is called MI-5. I started with season 1 and just started 7.
Hello my babbler friends! How is everything on the Babble front?
Hi MArk
hello mark. How is everything in Andorra?
Poor George has been cast aside by Scrabs but at least there won't be any more squabbles.
It is China now; Eveerything is great! Hi Scrabs!
I love MI-5 but they don't give you the names of the cast. Which one is he?
Hi Mark
Is that Harry?
Hello FM. How are you today?
Roo is much younger.
peripatetic Mark J!!!!
Adam Carter.
oh, he is gone from the new season. I prefer Harry, but I'm much older than you, scrabs!
but Ruth is back
we get some great programs from BBC
I just watched that episode and am mourning the loss. I like Harry too--intense man with integrity.
Ruth will return? Ros has returned from Russia.
we didn't like Ros at first, but she is amazing!
It took two seasons for Ruth to come back and we are happy for Harry!!
I have mixed feelings about Ros. She reminds me of Nellie Oleson from the Little House on the Prairie show.
It's terrible to be so attached to a TV series, but it's pretty quiet here.....
I am crazy about this series--such a smart, well-written, well-done show!
at first she wasn't much, but she is very muscular now and does amazing things -- cold-hearted, too
the French say it's the BEST UK series!
Ros is a perfect spy--ruthless!
I'm glad they're showing it in the US. We never know what we'll get here, e.g. we had two seasons of Deadwood, but never got the third
Oh, my, I must grab breakfast and then leave for work. Bye Babble buddies! Enjoy the day!
Matthew McFadden was in the first season, but I never liked him much and also didn't like Adam's wife, Fiona.
Bye Scrabs
{{scrabs}}
ruby can you access the BBC's i-player on your PC?
does anybody else like Deadwood? It was pretty rough but amazing
I don't know
I am a hopeless tech person. Fortunately, my son comes twice a year or so, to sort me out
'cos if you can - you can watch lots of current BBC progs.
The problem is that will keep me in my "lair" even more and husband will have a fit!
speaking of which, I had better go.
speaking of which, I had better go.
{{FM}}
Toodles!
*poof*
Morning! May I have a clue for the single E near the bottom? Does it begin with eu?
ea6/24 bird + letter
Got it! TY Zooz!
yw :-)
I was trying to use eulogy some how!
yes i was trying eu combos too..lol
an8 is a greek word though, Car.ee
OK...hit me with a clue...
oh yes I could use a clue for that too. Hi car.e
Hi FM!
morning car!
an8 is scientific and unusual. Greek root for sun in middle
Stole the clue from, Scouser :-)
Got it!
TY!
morning car!
Good morning Trif! All the muffins have been hidden!
Hi Trif.
yw :-)
"the cat the dog and the horse are friends" ha ah ha ha
I still can't get the an8.
39 more to find, need a cup of tea..back in a mo.
Thanks zooz
morning FM...and all my other babble peeps too!
not your uncle but your AuN* + no she + if you don't speak the truth you are a ***r
Hey trif!
Thanks car! That was a marvelous hint. Marvelous!
hi mark! now I can't get the an....please hold....
Holding.
YVW!
got it. whew!
Trif....you may want to pull in the front today...the driveway hill may be slippery.
will do. thanks.
i have to be at work at 10, so I am hoping all goes well
OK...BBL...going to watch the weather. Have a wonderful day everyone!
Bye car!!!
LOVE you!
Bye car.e
mark, car and I are sisters. didn't know if you knew that?
We are sisters?
no,no, CAR and I are sisters! ha ha ha
cheeky monkey!
You said Mark. I got a little creeped out.
I used an appropriate comma!
You are right, i am wrong. - Bob Brenly
Ok got my cup of tea...now lets go find the last 39 words.
you can be my sister if you want. we have plenty of room
I would rather be your brother.
Mark hasn't got the legs for a dress Trif :)
I'm too short;
You're doing well zooz, I've hit the wall with 76 left.
brother is fine too. won't make you wear a dress either. A kilt maybe, but a dress? too cold around here!
Hi - just a short visit before lunch. Anyone want any clues?
hello scouser. I like your icon very much!
I know. I have been to the frozen midlands of the U.S. during winter. It is absolutely horrible.
already used one of your clues, Scouser..lol
Oh lunch, now there is an idea. Hi scouser!
A modified clip-art - as near to the r**l Pushkin as I can do. He is large, and agoraphobic.
... and that is me off to the PB.
id4 FM..PB..lol
It is early in the morning here.
fine zoo
I went to college in Ohio, and in order to get to one class, I had to walk across the tennis facilities, which were about 40 courts laid out in a huge field, so NO protection from the wind at all. In the winter, my eyelashes would freeze SHUT. it was most disconcerting.
and your id9 clue was excellent too.
May I have that id9 clue?
I remember the freezing rain in Newfoundland - needed a newspaper to hide behind on walk home. Never seen th** in UK
whoa, zooz! I just got the id9, from your comment!
over to you, Scouser.
thoughts with a travel book
LOL, good going, Trif :-)
Hey, I'm just 6. I have traveled, but no travel book;
Don't pull the I am 6 card Mark
well, like the end of a sort of book
lol..6 yeah right.
Sorry. It was too good a moment.
Scouser, just reading your profile - if you lived in the States, you could get paid your weight in gold for the Latin abilities. we are so short of Latin teachers right now that it is a panic.
I thought you just gave him driving instructions - but it was Trif
huh?
Trif - I am not a classical Latin scholar - very specific for medieval stuff. Am a little long in tooth for transatlantic shift.
Still don't have the id9.
no it was car.eeyore t
more's the pity. but still, even latin tutors for students are in short supply here
Try morewords.com Mark as you now know the 1st 4 letters.
put thoughts together. Stand on your own and say them out loud. You have just created this word.
id9 i+ d*** the cards + kyle min****
I suffer cos I haven't got a TV !
Zooz, i don't know british actors!
sigh....imagine a world where you had never heard of those sisters!
kyle min**** is an australian singer
kylie is aussie
LOL Trif
Oohhhh, sorry. Still don't know him.
Have you got the word yet Mark?
Most of it, but not the last four letters.
her
Her.
Think I will get some lunch, back in a bit.
put kylie min into google and you will get the rest, Mark.
When you stand on your own and speak, you give a mono*****.
Enjoy your meal, FM :-)
Finally I have it! Thanks everyone!
My lunch is not ready yet.
yw :-)
Goodly Mark.
Oh so exciting a bigger grid, unfortunatly I do have to do to work at ome point!!!!!
Yes redturtle - and no s in the grid either.
it is a blast so far, Hope I have the time to complete! I love the bigger ones...
Yes you should finish, Red, i am finding it sort of easy, so you will fly through it.
OK everybody, time for moi to leave. Very disappointing, I have 54 total. Goodbye everyone!
Take care, Mark..it does not matter how many you get..it`s if you enjoyed doing the grid that matters.
A couple of unusal 4-letter words though requiring a quick trip to Lickety.
Cheers Mark.
down to 12 and no lickety for me yet.
bye bro!
lol
whoops- just noticed I have NBT, and NBS! yay me!
goodly zoo. I get too impatient.
Good going , Trif.
Yes the babblets can be tricky, Scouser.
Bye all.
the new meds must be kicking in, lol
Take care, Scouser.
Just back to comment to zoo: super sentence on your profile. Had me laughing immediately.
It is a good thought Zoom. Good morning all.
yet so true...lol..thanks, Scouser :-)
Hello, Molly :-)
Good morning all - will someone please explain NBT and NBS. I know it's been done before but I keep forgetting. This time I'll take notes!
Under the grid are "Tile Stats" NBT means you have one on each tile. Next to that are "Word Stats". One of each means you have NBS
when you go pro, you have tile stats and word stats..NBT= no blank tiles in the tile stats...NBS is no blank stats.
Oh crud, I must go off to that work thing. My 2 hour repireve is over. and I have errr 77 words only!
Work will fly by, Red, then you can continue the fun :-)
A tile stat shows the letter, like the N in the top corner, and how many words you have gotten from that letter. It starts out 0/3 meaning you have zero of three words you can make with that N.
zooz does not work where I work, but that for the thought...
Just trying to keep your chin up, Red :-)
:)
Thanks for the info Molly & Zooz. I have gone pro. What I don't understand is why NBT and NBS should make me happy lol
Well Mrs. Whiski, I can't say that I get that either. It's some sort of "landmark" that some people who play this game feel satisfied about. NBT is pretty easy to get in most grids and it only gets you 25 words.
I find on the large grids, Mrswhiski, it is just another goal on the way to trying to finish the grid...and congrats on going, Pro..welcome aboard.
NBT is a huge deal for me, not sure why. Maybe it's an obsessive compulsive thing, but I find it hard to walk away from a new grid if I dont' have nbt.
I've been Pro for a while. I think I'm what a lot of people call a "lurker". I just can't play & chat at the same time. Guess I'm just not a multi-tasker
most days I don't finish, but like to hit at least halfway, and nbt. nbs is just gravy
like some people set themselfs a goal to get NBT before breakfast or some people will only list after they get over half way through the grid..people have different ways of doing the grid i suppose..lol
I think that is what makes it fun, zooz. we all have our own methods. I know kadresa always does the grid in alphabetical order....
i prefer the words "Stealth Mode"..lol
True, Trif.
:)
Thanks Zooz - "Stealth Mode" sounds so much smarter!
yw :-)...after all, lurker sounds rather sinister i fe4.
Lurker really does sound nefarious.
and more polite than "ignoring the chat" mode :-)
reminds me of "stalker'
Right you are and I'm already left-handed so I don't need to be more sinister! lol
oh, dan, look at your button!!! she is SO lovely!
AWWWW!!!! Look at Baby 2Bit, snoozing away.
thanks all! she had a rough night last night, we are hoping she's not coming down with something :-(
Could it be teeth Dan?
My method of doing the grid is..just look at all the letters and see what i can find..checking chog all the time to see if any clues are being given..then i look at my word list and go back through to see if i can plural or add an `A` to the beginning and so on..lol
that's my method too!
Oh that is a sweet, picture, Dan2bit..hope she is not coming down with anything .
Molly - it could be, though early this morning she sounded a teeny bit congested. Could also be growth spurt or general crankypants
`general crankypants`..LOL
we haven't seen any teeth yet, or even much in the way of angry gums
someone really should start a crankypants foundation....there is still no cure
I'm off with 116 left. I'll be back though. Thanks for the chat. Make it a great day everyone!
Ah yes, general crankypants. I do remember that my kids were pretty runny nosed when they cut teeth.
Have a good day too, Mrswhiski :-)
hahah Trif - donations being accepted for the crankypants fun run
mornin babblers!
and the general returns with a VENGEANCE when girly girls hit 13/14, so get ready dan!
Hello, Eva :-)
THAT would be an entertaining run! I envision loads of parents, trying to outrun crankypanted toddlers and teens.
morning eva! thought of you yesterday, as I was installing my new twin draft guard thingie to garage door
Trif, thats a great id4 giving, Dan2bit, 13 years to be prepared...LOL
I only wish I was kidding, zooz! (and dan....)
I wish I could get one of those twin draft things. But my drafty door is my front door and I think it would look odd there.
who cares how it looks? they work pretty well
Oh trust me, my fascist homeowners association would care.
I know what you mean, Trif, i come from a very large family..so seen it all.
molly -- we have a twin draft guard on our front door. you hardly even notice it.
thanks for the warning trif - my sister has a daughter 5 years ahead, so I'll also have an up close preview when button is in primary school, in case I need a refresher
I'm going to place a bet that wee girlie Maggie pops three teeth at once in the next few weeks. You heard it here first. : P
ugh! what have you got against us, Molly? :-)

Mom, if we get snow tomorrow, I'm making O'Charlie's. : D
Oops, Mom has gone poof.
earth-shattering news, all! i have finally gotten the hubby to agree to having the occasional soup dinner!
Good Morning Everyone. EvaN, you married someone who doesn't consider soup a meal? Or doesn't he like it?
he has never been much of a soup fan. this time of year, i crave soups/stews, but he usually turns his nose up at them. we have been having more conversations about cooking more at home for health and economical reasons, and i mentioned that soups are often very economical to make, especially since they are often made from things we end up tossing out... he agreed to have the occasional soup (preferably more on the stew end of the spectrum) since i seemed to really want it. :)
Woo-Hoo for You!
yeah, i mentioned that if i buy a whole chicken + cook it in the crock pot, thats several meals for us (one of which will be soup!) minimal cooking for maximum meals + maximum savings -- thats my kinda math!
My boyfriend won't eat soups either.
i also kinda mentioned that if he wants me to be mainly responsible for the cooking, then he needs to be more open to what i WANT to cook.
my husband loves soup but wont have it alone for a meal - must have something else to go with it - ugh...
that's the way I cook, EvaN; the less time I spend in the kitchen making meals, the happier I am.
River, does he eat salads? Soup & salads are the easiest (and healthiest) meals
for anyone who is interested, this is the crockpot chicken recipe i found + am going to try: http://tinyurl.com/4pha69p
yes but not for supper - he must have the typical starch, veg, protein (ie. meat/fish)
what if you made the soup more of a stew? put veg + potatoes IN the soup?
That's the way mine is, only he also won't eat fish or pork.
once in a while I like having an omellete for supper - that is breakfast to him so is not happy
when we have our clinics at work, we bring meals. We rotate; but I end up bringing about 4 meals a month for our clients. I'd be sunk without having a crockpot full of soup as the main dish. (I run prenatal clinic in a non-profit pregnancy center for low income women).
i love breakfasts for supper
We do breakfast for dinner sometimes, with either French toast or pancakes.
that is wonderful Nef
my hubby is a super-picky eater. but since i get home first, he wants me to be the one responsible for making dinner. i basically laid it out for him -- i dont like cooking, but im willing to take on that responsibility. that just means that you will eat what i cook and not complain about it. if i hear complaints, im done being the cook.
good strategy eva...and morning
i think we are both surprised at the meals he has enjoyed that he never would have eaten, had i not cooked them.
I've tried that too Eva - still cooking and listening to complaints after 24 years...lol
WAY TO GO EVA!!! You are going to squelch the picky eater in that man yet.
Eva, my 8 year old granddaughter is a VERY picky eater, and she tells me she is not allowed to say Yuk when her dinner is put in front of her, but it's alright to say it under her breathe!!
Good for you EvaN! Men are trainable, and teachable too! Sometimes dietary changes are hard; but if they get hungry enough; they may try it and find out that they can eat other food besides meat and potatoes
there are definitely meals that he has said "can we please not have that again?" and thats fine. heck, sometimes even *I* dont enjoy it. but you can only have it one way -- if im the cook, i get to decide what we eat. i do take into account his pickiness, but i usually try to stretch the boundaries just a little with each meal.
i guess i do it from my own experience -- i was a super-picky eater as a kid (just like your granddaughter, jenny!) and one day, i just made up my own mind to start trying new things -- and lo + behold, i liked them!
My husband is not a picky eater - he will eat anything - he is just a complainer....*throw my hands in the air *
I wonder what the difference is in roasting a chicken that way and doing it in the crockpot. I usually only put tougher meats in the crockpot.
molly -- ive never actually cooked a whole chicken before! so i figured the crockpot method was a less daunting first go at it. :)
I found a full chicken in the crock pot is very moist but also greasy
no idea molls..i have never done one in the crock pot..although a friend of mine swore to chicken with a can of lemonade concentrate and garlic made THE BEST CHICKEN
my dtr's ex boyfriend was very picky; he wouldn't eat any vegetables at all. We didn't pander to him, and he actually didn't eat some meals (when we had stews and soup & salad meals. Luckily, they broke up. (too many ot*** issues too)
my kids used to be super picky..but i always taught them..if you eat at someone elses house..BE POLITE..and eat what served
Well, for one thing, the crockpot way of cooking that chicken is good for a work day. I freakin' LOVE to come home to the smell of something cooking.
I must get back to work - have a great day everyone
my parents never cooked me a separate meal, but my dad would usually whip up a cheese sauce -- he discovered i would eat almost anything when smothered with cheese. ;)
lo and behold....they would come home...mum..can you make green beans...or cauliflower
i let the other parents do the dirty work...and now my kids eat tonnes of diff foods
back to the grid for a moment, anyone have a clue for the E between the H and the J?
the world minus a consonant eva
I can't find it either
oh..no..that not that e
that E comes from above
Im looking for that one too
One of our national symbols is the base, I think
Maybe a baby one. I can't remember which word came off of that specific letter.
bottom e= a young ea5
ea 6/24 - baby bird national symbol
that was it, cbr. Thanks!
found it, thanks
its the baby bald bird
gotta run
TY thats NBT and NBS for me! now just working on halfway. :)
bye carlee
back ... bacon and eggs for breakfst
Molly, hope you get snow if that is what it takes to have O'Charley Soup
what is O'Charley soup?
Hi Nef, it is the potato soup that they serve at O'Charley's
someone said bacon.....
is O'Charley's in KY? (Never heard of that either)
((Crossy)) I did
Ooops, PB for me
Nef, I thought they were nation wide ... it is a restaurant
Nef, it's a version of loaded baked potato soup. Potato soup with cheese in it and bacon, onions and chives on top. Very good.
Good morning chatters
mmm bacon everywhere:)
good morning Mr. Bob
bacon- the fairy dust of the food world;)
O'Charley's isn't here yet. But the soup sounds delicious
howdy mom,bob and all the rest on gilligans island;)
Nef, when I discovered th4/5 in the grid, I loaded the PB up with good eats.
i heard a great word yesterday on a shopping channel here, and the guest was american and he sais paddywong, does anyone else say that in the US, or is it just his made up word?
I will be Ginger. : D
i always thought mary-ann was hot..ginger tries too hard
Morning crossy, Mr Bob, Molly, Lillian and all
never known anyone to use that - think it is his made up word
I usually claim rights to Ginger just because I am a red head.
i nef
Paddywong sounds like a pet name for his...ahem...
Lillian, I've heard of paddywonk; not paddywong
he said it because the paper he was using wasn't straight. we would say skew wiff
lilliann-bet enable would love that word!
oh, it could be paddy wonk nef
lol molly
i bet they would scribe
skew wiff is a great term! :-) Never heard of it before!
i don't know if you spell it like that nef but i like it :)
sounds welsh or gaelic
apparently it is a scotch word and means crooked
dean
Ooops! Sorry.... back to PB again
and its spelt skew whiff
thanks nef, didn't have that one yet
I'm back ... got booted out
here is one we do not see often in da grid de 6/24= a lack or shortage of
I did. :-( It makes it worse
as in something is skewed..interesting and shows how language becomes a melting pot
fireworks

the boys lasted a couple years each (sorry to say)
lol, thanks mom, she might look 41 but that's because she looks older than she is!1 lol
the girls seem to grow up quicker
i've been told that girls are worse than boys. great!!
I had the saying hanging on my refrigerator that said ... Now I know why mothers of animals eat their young
then when they went to college I changed it to ... Money doesn't buy happiness but it sure keeps the kids in touch
lol mom
I am glad to hear that your brother came home safely

ty liliann, got it but can't see how.. twister
yw
ruby - the greek word for sun is in the middle. word starts bottom left. rare occurrence in sky.
ah, now I see.. up and down
He8 is also orthodontics that kids usually wear at night.
this grid is twisty!!
well, down round the corner and up diagonally and again.

halfway!
aghhh, how did i miss the folklore big person...duh!!this grid is a nightmare!!
It's a twisty word, easy to miss.
mmm, eggs scrambled in butter with bits of ham, sweet onion and some shaved 4 year old cheddar melted on top and a slice or two of roasted honey bread;)))
Ah, Fireworks. Just in time for lunch.
wtg judi!!
I think a healthy turkey sub is in order.
sounds nice cross, i think i'm going to have a mushroom, cheese and bacon omelette
!!!!JUDI!!!!!
Hiya, Molls!
Okay - scootin off until the morrow. *POOF*
sound delish lilian;)
bye judi
i don't normally eat omelettes cross, but just fancy one, makes a change from salads
omelettes are a great way to start the day, time enough for roughage with dinner
we never have them for breakfast, only lunch or tea
i always have a large brekkie, med lunch,no tea time here of course in the britt sense that is and a very light supper
i don't eat breakfast, sometimes a sarnie for lunch and my main meal at tea
i hold the credo of "eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper"
I hold to the belief that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You've got to feed the machine.
indeed
a healthy sammich and a piece of fruit at lunch and for supper a bit of meat and a small salad
sounds good cross.i'm normally in bed in the morning and not always up at lunch which is why i miss them
poor lilian:((
good morning everyone
howdy flosey
hi flosey
and a bit of veggie with supper
i do love my veg. if i go a day without them i get withdrawal symptoms
aye......a pea a day keeps the doctor away!!?!!??!?!!?!!
i am very persinicity with veggies,i like peas, corn, carrots and brussel snouts
me too Cross!
i need to eat more peas then flask
yep! instead of throwing them at David!!!
oh a fresh pea pods..but impossible to get here unless you do the up yourself in the summer
i love majority of veg. i love sprouts, asparagus and sweet corn
i wouldn't waste the peas on him flask,i just throw bricks!! lol
no like aspagras
my hubby and daughter like the raw peas out of pods i like them cooked with a bit of mint
it's lovely wrapped in pancetta flask
pods for me everytime!....yummy!
i do not think i have ever cooked home grown pea pods..they are just too tasty as they are
its the texture of it, I don't like!
i mix a spoonful of mayonnaise, diijon mustard and low fat cheese spread and put a spoonful on the asparagus and wrap with the ham and then grill for a few minutes...delic
i blanche the asparagus first tho
Flask, try just blanching the asparagus so that it still has a bit of crunch to it, but not to the mushy stage which perhaps is what you don't like?
I may try that yes!
can i have a clue for the gl15,14 pls
don't have many gl words yet
clues for the 9 and 8s welcome!
ok thanks flosey
he8 is what you put on your he4
he8 you wear

yes
got the 9. ty
great clues.
ty for these super clues. do you have the other 8?
I don't have been puzzling over it
an8 but not sure how to clue it, apparently something to do with the sun
Flosey, that is a much better clue than using Kiley Min****. There are a lot of people who have never heard of Kiley.
ah, I for one Molly
yipes i see that A in third line of grid has 12 words and i dont have any. hmmmm.
there are 2 x an7 - love one an7
past tense of an5 flosey, the first one
an isnt the a i am speaking of flosey. i mean the a in fourth column, third one down. but ty anyway.
the other 7 is pt of an5
hi folks
which seems odd
hi peri
the otheran7 is when you want more then one
hi peri
have them lil, just missing the 8
how are you lil, have not seen you in a while
flosey, i dont have the an 5. must look
hi peri, no not been on for quite a while. i'm well thanks.how are you?
you might call a very sweet person an an5
I am well too, thanks
an8....an + *** Wizard of Oz + ***m Neeson, actor.
an8/45 = picnic pest + **** pad found on top of buildings for landing on + vowel
need a coffee break, brb
i'm still trying to think of a clue for that one flosey
good clue fm
Thanks :)

crossy's wife is in the grid
hi there FM
hi FMitch! logging in to finish up, glad to see you
Hi Aloy and peri et al.
and yours molly
hi fm
I noticed Mrs. el7 Crosshair earlier. : D
ty i got that 8. still dont have a second an 7. confused now with clues. can someone reclue ot please.
if it is not one thing it is an7 mke
peri ty i got that one. it is the other one i am missing. is it from the 8 but one less vowel?
ok, you asked for 2nd
sorry no list yet. not half way. apologies.
the first an7 is past tense of the an5
wow i still have no a words from that A in fourth column, third one down. 12 words and i dont have any. upes.
I have a real hard time with the past tense of the an5. A real hard time.
you can start with a + a pop. tv show about a hs choir, mkg
Molly, thankyou for the an8 - missed it just before I went for coffee, great clue - even though I didn't know that actor - guessed (William is grandson's name)
me too Molly
mkg...al5/14...to make straight
an7 is past tense of an5 which is a celestial being mkg
yes, Molly pt of that word is silly
dont have that an 5. wil think.
an5...celestial being that has a halo
an7/40 provided financial backing for
98 words. darn. i want to get to half way.
do all an5 have halos?
oh, thanks peri, have never heard that expression
I am more than 1/2 way, now using the list and still having a hard time
I would have to check in with them Peri. : D
got it! ty ty. i totally missed the an on top line and was struggling with an bottom left.
must go.. ttfn
bfn Aloy
peri pb for you...gave the ha4 away
bfn aloy
*~*~*POMOM TOSS*~*~*for anike
hi all... do we like this grid?
Pssst...Peri...Toll House cookies in the PB.
so I did, oopsie
hi carlee, no it's a twisty horrible gris and giving me headache!!
oh..just the kind I tend to like you mean lilli?
well if you like them like this carlee can you finish my last 3 words then please :)
oops, meant 43 words
what ones are they?
i wish it was 3!!
have to take a break, making a pumpkin pie for hubby's b'day instead of a cake
i am starting my new felting project atm :)
sounds lovely flosey. hope he enjoys it flosey. bfn
And what are we felting, oh Canadian lass?
1 more word for nbt
it's a fav, lillian
ooh, what felting project is that carlee
i've never had pumpkin pie flosey
i just bought a crap load of old mens 100% wool sweaters...they in the washing machine now....once washed and dried in dryer....i am cutting them up and making a throw
oh, really lil, you must try it sometime - guess it's a north american thing
nice idea carlee
oh cool carlee and a cheap way of doing it
did not know you could wash wool sweaters in the washing machine
You can if you're felting them.
i've never seen pumpkin pie here, i'll have to come to america to try it
i spent 50.00 on 100% wool... i just want a nice lap throw.... to buy each sweater new would be 60-90.00 and to buy the yarn..well you just cant get 100% wool here anymore
i am felting it peri...
hmm, never tried felting
meaning..i INTEND to shrink and matte it
handwash in the machine i would have thought you could peri
oh, ok
handwash in the machine?
very thrifty carlee :)
i set my water heater to HIGHEST heat....you wash on HOT...rinse on COLD...and put in dryer on HOT
my machine does handwash
oh, ours does not lil
so..the sweaters will come out to fit a youth ( bought mens XL and XXL )
Carlee, you have more ambition than I do. Felting sounds very time consuming.
and...i SHOULD have enough fabric to make a throw with 10 sweaters
so then you cut up the sweaters and piece them together?
the washing machine doing the work..and way less intensive then knitting an afghan
exactly peri
hold on..will grab a link
so, when you shrink and matte knitted items, then cut, they will not unravel I presume?
might just be the machines here then, but i've washed woolen jumper in it loads of times and they come out as they go in
LMAO at the very idea of me knitting an afghan.
you can buy a throw for les money but it would not be wool
http://www.bhg.com/holidays/christmas/ gifts/recycle-sweaters-make-a-throw-or -pillow/
do you hand stich them or by sewing machine carlee?
migh tnot be 100% wool lill
i will do buy hand...but i sew by hand pretty quickly
bbl
ok..i still need the bottom a in 2nd column for nbt
hi all

i am still wondering on that myself molls...
( gone to check my sweaters )
de6/30 is a pretty word - at least in the sense that we don't often see it in babble. but if you are caught in a de6/30 in life, it would be bad.
and it gives you winter sport word
I guess I wasn't getting how it was pretty in the first place.
hahah molly
shoot, i think someone gave a 9 clue shortly before i arrived and i foolishly didn't pay attention
id9/78 somebody who spouts his political opinions
id 5/12 plus the end of the Sears book you order from
id 9 = id 5/12 + Sears cata******
molly's clue is better
and I was just too slow.
huh, i thought that was not spelt with an a but with an o there... must be losing it.
no, i'm not losing it, it IS spelt with two o's, but i guess also this way.
fmitch you can always make up for it with clues for the ot5 two j words :)
can we get another clue for the pretty de6? :-)
de6 - flood
de + winter sport word
thanks
like a sled
oh..BRILLIANT....one shrank from an adult xxl to about a toddler's size...is soooo soft..and thick..Bloody brilliant
ummm ju4/12 = not a pitcher of water but a ju* + vowel and for the 5 add a cons to the end.
What are you doing carlee?
THANK you.
yw dear.
carlee is washing used sweaters
is that good carlee or are you being sarcastic??
that sounds like such a good idea! does it make moth holes go away?
am felting 100% wool sweaters to make a throw
Ahhh - all becomes clear (and clean) :)
yeap...it does actually..u cannot distinguish stiches
sorry but one other question - the 8's are an8 and ?
when you finish that project, carlee, I have enough large crocheted squares to make an afghan but haven't the energy to finish it
felting is SOOO much fun!!!!...and where can you get a 100% wool throw unique...never the same one 2ce..for 50.00 ?
they are about 15 years old
he8/60
great recycling and fun to do car
ruby..if we were nearby..i would so put together for you..that just a one lazy day by the fire suring a snow storm project
compound?
yup
During a snow storm *
*bop*
this one going to be black browns/ beiges with purple
if I could only play babble at the same time!
Hi jmc!
thanks!
the squares are red, pink and orange
essentially the colour of a bruise :p
standard concentric squares
wool..or wool blend ruby?
who needs to be nearby? there is such a thing as courier service...
wool
oooh... i wish could finish for you ruby :'(
me too :(
i LOVe working with wool...
courier service courier service courier service
I have a studio full of unfinished projects; it's pathetic
i think by time you shipped it over and i shipped it back..the $ would be insane
hahahah hurshy
but..if u ever have anyone coming to my part of canada...
it's based on weight... for the volume, i wouldn't think these things would be that heavy, and if you can smush it into a flat rate box - well assuming canada and/or france have flat rate boxes as the US does...
hi all
hello boo
wool is heavy tho hurshy... i bought 10 sweaters....that was about 15-20 pounds
French postal rates are insane!
so carlee, is that the same as quilting but with wool and not fabric?
it was stretchng the handle of of a good quality plastic bag...
Heavy, shmeavy, shipping between the US and Canada is outrageous. I can only imagine what it is between Canada and the UK.
its called..greyhound molls
I am feeling inspired! Tomorrow I'm going to lay out the afghan squares and see how big it really is
it's expensive between england and france
all postal and shipping rates are so so costly these days.
Hi Molly and Boo
hi FMitch
my sister used to be able to send me books from the US in an M bag. 10 books for about $12. But they stopped the service
Hi FM. Ruby, you could do a few squares a day. Pretty soon, you would be done.
ruby, is there not a patchwork club near you?
actually, there is!
well, it's really only right. what with the environmental impact and all. if people weren't somewhat discouraged from shipping, it would probably be bad.
now it costs as much to ship a book as to buy one!
more, sometimes, ruby. used book websites often have 99 cent books but you have to pay shipping.
you are making my creative juices flow, lol
my mam lives in france and she joined one and they go all over france to patchwork shows and sell their things, plus they all join in and help on bigger projects
but apparently fabric is cheaper here than in france, so my mam always buys loads when she comes over
anyway....all but 2 sweaters int he dryer now....2 needed another washing... then i do a load with the light beiges/ creams
the club here is in Menthon St. Bernard (the next village) and they have an exhibit every year. There is a Dutch woman in the village who does incredible patchwork
maybe fabric is cheaper in the UK but fabrique is cheaper in france.
sooo..exciting to see what pops out at the end...
quite right hurshy :)
I'm going to cull my sweaters and see what I have
Worth looking into ruby - re the club
I love the fact that moth holes go away
clue for ad 5 please
now...in a couple weeks i will go back....and in march again..spring cleaning..see what appears in the mens department ( cheaper then womens..and larger pieces of fabric in the end)
and husband's, too, as he still has sweaters from his university days (the 40's!!!!)
it's the same for my mam, her club is in one of the villages nearby and they have exhibitions..i couldn't think of the word so thats why i wrote shows(my mind goes blank, and it's like give us a clue with me)!
what part of France is she in?
I'm near Annecy
ad + how old we are
hello flosey; we very old!
my mam's been in it for years and loves it.she's made me loads of things and bought things from the other ladies for me. it's amazing what they make and the quilts are beautiful!
the vendee
bet I'm older
she's west and I'm east, but basically across from each other
hahah, flosey
I had a beautiful antique quilt top from the 19th c. NY state, but I used it as a burial shroud for my lovely Cleo!
well, i know the french love their quilting so i'm sure there are loads of clubs all over the country
in and out here, busy day
good night everybody, this has been an interesting and inspiriing conversation
nighty night ruby
nite nite ruby {{hugs}}
i have a great patchwork bag bag(not sure what to call it)put plastic bags into it and pull them out the bottom hole..very handy storage as it doesn't take much room up and just hangs on teh back of the kitchen door
i wish these silly people would quit interrupting my babble time
sweet dreams ruby

Hi everyone! Any one have any good advice about sump pumps?
ru re6,18 is re4and 2 vowels
an 8 starts like an 6/21 but with a different consonant and ends in two vowels
Who installs them?
(((((((((lilliann))))))))))))))).....t here there, all better now!!
plumber, car.
*Waiting to see how many seconds go by before Stid dashes away* : D
Ugh. OK.
or re6 are objects used by school teachers to teach
the plumber and an electrician will be necessary.... one to determine flow rates, etc and one to handle the wiring (depending on your location's building and construction codes)
yay flask!!
Cellar. One pump was already there, but it is broken. Looks to be about 1' of water in some parts of the basement.
:-))
hi car, haven't got a clue what a sump pump is!
oh oh car... you can sometimes rent portable sump pumps from construction rental places or home centers
like home depot or lowe's.
thank you
It is a persistent problem. One needs to be installed.

Oh no, what do you mean..does it look cheap?
thanks for the heads up
Yep - hopng it tarnishes up - in the meantime it lives in the dark hallway

Sorry to hear that, Lynxxx, i hate it when you look at something in a magazine or website and it looks great..untill you receive them and you think..what on ea5 is this crap :-(
Diane, I figure you either give up, or find a way to keep going. So far, I'm putting one foot in front of the other. Sometimes it's baby steps, but any steps are good.

we are in Arizona now, for almost 3 months... ( staying in our son's home ) and he's actually visiting us right now in HIS home away from home !!!
I'm confused
he's from Calgary, Alberta, and we've been having snow, snow, blowing .. more snow! The most snow since 1974
I love my home, but wasn't sad to leave the snow and very cold temperatures behind.
Over here, Diane, if you leave your house for longer th4 3 months they will increase your house insurance drastically :-(
never come accross re6.18 before
we have stipulations that the house has to be checked on a daily basis and our neighbors do that, but we always advise our homeowner's insurance agent. Last year we had a granddaughter ( aged 21 ) stay in the house.

ty
They are saying snow from about 2 am to 2 pm
5 to 9 inches is the forecast.
okay, so if i leave here at noon......
Not the best day for driving up.
it should be cleared by four???? (i know i am dreaming)
i once did it IN a raging snowstorm... anything would be better than that
The main roads should be fine, but how about your parking space?
grandmothers do crazy things if they haven't seen their grandkids in a month. at least this grandma does
i expect my son or daughter in law will shovel the driveway for me (it just about fits one car... and they will be on the road in front of the house
Dorens, you be careful tomorrow.
That is true hospitality.
my car is good in the snow... four wheel drive... and i am a good driver. And the prize at the end of the drive is well worth it. They called this evening, put my four year old granddaughter on, just to make sure I knew how excited she is that I am coming.

yw wc
To unhide a person, Page, or app story-type, follow these steps: 1. When you are on your "Most Recent" News Feed view, click "Most Recent" to expand a drop-down menu. 2. Select "Edit Options." 3. A list of all people, Pages and apps you’ve hidden will appear in a pop-up box. Click "x" next to each one you'd like to remove from this list. Removing someone from your "Hidden" list means she or he can appear in your News Feed again. 4. Click "Save."

Weeeelllll, I really liked the show and it makes me smile delightedly, when I see your name.
hey je: did you see the video where the loal woman was too busyt teting and fell into a mall fountain?
obviously you are not on in the morning before I have my caffeine boost and can think
lol no i missed that TO
well thank you peach= maybe the evening beverage has something to do with that ...lol
well the video went viral and she is suing - it was a surveillance video
I just think it is a cool name.
is there an AR?
you can thank Pini and JMC and Stid for my cool name....long story but we can never tell.....right jmc
wow... that's weird. suing because you did something embarassing in public...
two more words and then I am away again...
:-) just wanted you to have a name that reflected your lovely self
yes Jmc ar4/4 ar5/10 ar5/10
weel, it was a surveillance tape - should not be public
she will lose unless she gets a bimbo jury
http://technolog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2 011/01/20/5885523-texting-fountain-lad ys-problems-bigger-than-youtube-fame?G T1=43001
well. there I am halfway exactly. And lesson plans to revise. *sigh* (((hugs and choclits for all)))
oh she is suing about the tape. . . hmm no no right to privacy for things done in public the courts have already ruled on that for criminal matters
it was hialrious
people sue for anything these days - its pitiful
hilarious, too
actually the choclit is "trader joe's swiss 71% dark chocolate" -- fair trade choclit, and it's YUMMY.
so any AR word?
had a student saying she was going to sue me today every time I turned around (she was joking) -- I told her "good luck with that -- you'd have better luck getting blood from a turnip"
ooo love trader joe's chocolate
don't think she had heard that expression before.
probably never saw a turnip
ar 4.4 jmc... place, the amount of space in something
ahem! is there an AR word????
*stands ready with choclit fish*
ty i just wanted to know if there were a word but i will take teh clue too :-P
and then add a consonant to make a word that I think means fantasy...
that's an AR 5/10
no clue... the fish would be too big!
*grabs cholit fish and runs away*
hey doren! LOL
