I think they are all just way sensitive because of the kids we work with. on my side, I think if I can get a kid to stop grumping and do their work, rules can be bent a little.
example: I have one boy who really struggles with the rules of phonics, so we do a lot of imaging words with him, etc. He did NOT want to work at all. I started with the word "boost" and had him switch up letters until it spelled "boobs" and at that point he was laughing his head off, and saying "give me another one!" and totally engaged in the exercise, and it was so fun. and totally against the rules.

We are snowed in... and likely to be stuck for a couple days. Thankfully it only started to stick after we were all home yesterday! So we woke to a white wonderland and canceled school.
you can keep the snow thre stiddy. it snowed here on Tues and I had to shovell again. left wrist is really hurting
it's the first significant snowfall since November, and I am so grateful it snowed before the temps fell, so all my bulbs and corms are insulated from the sub-freezing temps

I whacked my left foot really hard last night, possibly a small fracture on the pinkie toe -- but not much a doc would do beyond what I am doing (resting it, and trying to be patient). I have a huge dark bruise on the side of my foot, but it doesn't actually hurt unless I move it.
that's fortunate, peri -- I learned I was ambidextrous when I hurt my right wrist in high school and managed to keep taking notes and such with my left hand. I don't have great handwriting no matter which hand I use... LOL
I think that happened to me a few years again. hurt for a while but eventually healed itself

we're still getting occasional snow, but it's tapering way off. Since it was so warm yesterday, the residual heat in the roads and soil helped melt some of it off.
it snowed here last night...all the schools were closed for today...but the snow was gone by noon...

schools were closed today here, too, much to the boys' delight. I think tomorrow there will be a delay, but suspect school will be open. Whether we can get our own kids there (or me to the college) is another story.
