i havent had the lobster truck yet, myself. actually, i havent had the pleasure of sampling from my friends truck either, as she is based in northern VA and not actually in dc (yet another reason she is the underdog). but red hook was the first food truck to break through in this area, and now food trucks are EVERYWHERE here. will be interesting to see how long they stick around... for the last few months, my one coworker has hardly had a lunch that didnt come off of a truck...heh

i think interviews are a dumb way to pick people for a lot of jobs, anyway. some, it makes sense. maybe sales, because you want to see how someone interacts with people. but for the type of work i've been doing, if i were hiring for it, i would set some tasks and just see how fast and well they did them!

i used to hire "on probation " for a week and say "show me"
I was asked at my last interview "dp you come to work on time?' like what did they think i would say....
here, every new hire is on probation for three months, but if you are transferring within the university, then there isn't new probation.

well,under 3 months you can toss them anyways without a resulting paperwork nightmare

and then you'd have to write fifty times that you wouldn't talk when you weren't supposed to.
there are factories here that hire "full time" through the temp agency,so the agency gets stuck with all the employee paperwork nonsense,then one day shy of 3 months,they lay off for 2 weeks, issue the R.O.E.then re-hire again

Also, if you can't hire a person after two interviews, you shouldn't be interviewing people. I once had some dork try to call me back for a 4th interview. I had already gotten another job by then.

the one 16 years before was a shepard with its whole back end crushed by a car;(
it should go smooth and fast, crossy. trying to make it as easy as possible all around. i have had a few that were so depressed/low blood pressure we couldn't get a vein though. those we put the euthasol in the abdomen, and it takes 5-10 minutes. but is still pretty quiet and calm, they just get sleepy and then pass out.
