no, I put the little plastic dresses under the flowers, to keep the nascient fruit from being in the dirt. I'm not sure it will work, but last year I didn't get one uneaten berry

snails are a pain because they eat my hostas so i still hunt them daily
that is interesting about the birds eating slugs. We have a huge bird population because husband feeds them twice a day

yep snails is as bad as slugs - but there are some slugs that eat other slugs - they are big yellow ones

and you can make a lovely soup form the young leaves at this time of year but you need rubber gloves to pick them LOL

Yes - we've had really good weather here and husband was off for a few days so we're all relaxed.

if they don't have ptsd or similar, they should be ok, though it is hard on anyone's nerves. Also on the people in the house that is renovated! But I can proudly say I am handling it reasonably well. So far I haven't lost myself in a panic attack, I just get immensely tired.

no exact date given, as is to be expected with construction workers. But this is week 3 and they said it would take about 6 weeks in total.
You can usually add on a week or two. Builders in Britain are hopelessly optimistic and I assume they're the same with you.
oh yes. It always takes longer than they say. The neighbours hope it will be finished before Summer break. I hope so too, but fear it will take up part of the vacation time.
Maybe once all the destructive part is done things will be less intrusive.

yes I think so too. Today they are in our garden, that is freaking me out. But once all the outside work is done, it won't be as bad. The only other really bad day will be when they'll remove the tiles from the floor.

And my car is a prius so doesn't use a whole lot of gas anyway. And it didn't kill me to walk to work this morning, just would have preferred more warning.

I don't think they want him there, nef, that's part of the frustration. And I don't know if he'd be able to get there anyway (and right now she is fully sedated so no real point in visiting). I went to see her last weekend and was able to talk to her, so that was good.

It's raining in Cairns (Aus) right now. I know that, 'cos my daughter just told me. It's stopped her free-falling out of a plane at 40,000 feet over the Barrier Reef.

Sort of, but still getting over her doing a bungee jump and going white water rafting, getting thrown out of canoe, going through the next rapid sans canoe and then being told 'you really have to get back into the canoe' by a panicky looking guide who'd realised they were now in the part of the river where the crocs are.

we intake about 40 guests and serve them dinner. chat with them or watch tv until bedtime. i only go once a month for a few hours at our church.
