good morning everybody! What a huge grid!
hello!
hello choco
oh hi. :) you are still awake ..
it is morning for me, not quite 11AM
I think everybody else is gone
I think so too. what time is it there?
almost 11AM and I just passed half. It's easier when there are no distractions
I see.
it took me about 50 minutes to get 197 words
It's 4:44pm in here.. and very quiet..
wow you are so great!
I am terrible, hardly ever finish - like 6 times in a year and a half!
and then with help from FM and Crossy
no, you are good! I've never finish this yet. well, being a newbie has to be considered. haha
I don't list, figuring what's the point, but sometimes there are clues in the chat
bore da - good morning
hello glanta!!!! how are you?
I am fine thanks Ruby
huge grid today
but i am glad as it will keep me busy
if I jot down all your Welsh words, I'll have a vocabulary of at least 40 words, lol
don't forget my favourite - moron=carrot
I have no idea what the language sounds like, however
i'll have to start writing them down phonetically
hello glanta. :)
ooh, I just found ayummy ai7!
bor-eh daah - bore da - good morning
hi chocomo
how have you been doin'?
are you new - i don;t think we've 'met'
yep. just a newbie foolin' around. haha
i am 170 words in
choco is new and young and very nice
where are you from?
presumably not the US o Canada as thye are mostly asleep by now
awww. that was too much to describe me ruby. haha
I am from Philippines Glanta.
ah i hvae a friend there in Manila
well, I just don't know how to put the flag beside my name. haha
really? that's nice. :) have you known some tagalog words?
you can only put the flag by your name if you pay a subscription - which is well worth it
i have no knowledge of tagalong
you two have found a way to drive me crazy: glanta will use Welsh and choco will use tagalog!
yea. I have to pay. duh. I'm just young. haha. No MONEY.. :/ hehe
is that the language spoken in the philippines?
funny idea
you can always confound us with french Ruby
haha. Babble will then be crazier than ever Ruby!!! haha
too easy
yep Glanta. :) It's Filipino.
uh oh, husband wants his aperitif! he is banging around in the kitchen. Is it cold there glanta? It just got much colder here
yes it's cold
not too easy to confound you just that French is too easy
i put the heating on for an hour last night
I think I'll have a hot toddy
which is very unusual for me at this time of year
I'm glad it got cold, it will make the roses and peonies last longer
my peonies look absolutely beautiful
deep red
mine, too. What colors do you have?
just deep red
and very blowsy
mINE ARE MOSTLY THE ORDINARY PINK ONES (BUT MANY), ONE MAGENTA (AND IT ALWAYS GETS JUST ONE FLOWER), whoops for caps, a 3 huge white ones with yellow centers. Gorgeous
they're my favorite in this garden
must go, see you later
{{glanta}} and {{choco}}
mine are in between some hostas which set them off beautifully
bye ruby
good morning babblers!
morning red - you're up very late or very early?
its 5 am here, getting ready for work.
rather you than me LOL
well, itis raining which may keep the masses out.
what do you do red?
I'm an ER nurse.
definitely rather you than me
my life plan includes avoiding hospitals
esp ER
:D
i've mostly managed it apart form a cancerous attack in 2005
and never yet been in ER
good for you!!!!
so i wish you a quiet day
thanks. me too, the stormy weather usually helps.
I have a lost corner in my garden to be sorted later when all else is finished. We uprooted a tree and the debris lay on top of the earth until we could get it cut up and shifted. Various bits of machinery were also piled up there. We built an extension very close by. I looked out of my window last Monday and there, in that very corner, were two beautiful peonies just about to open fully. They are a rich deep pink, not scarlet and perfect, only two so far. It didn't just brighten my day it made me think although life IS also sometimes like that - a pile of rubble, given time it can turn into a beautiful time again. I've been smiling all week and it took just Mother Nature's two pink peonies not a £2million lottery win. I hope I remember the lesson all my life.
PS You lot cheer me up many a day!
morning Pat - and flowers always cheer me up
as well as the people here
flowers, esp living ones are wonderful. people too.
ty for sharing Pat - beautiful story
Morning Glantarell and all others. I have to go shop shortly - hate supermaket shopping.
i have started having mine delivered
because i hate going to the supermarket
I gave up with online food shopping when Sunday lunch and papers weren't delivered until Monday noon.
i can see that would be a bit of a problem
I couldn't have food shopping delivered - love to select my own produce, how could I smell the oranges or feel how fresh the bread is on line :)
I coped foodwise but Sunday papers should be read on Sunday, although I leave parts for later in the week and I threw a right paddy. Like a two year old. Sent myself to bed - great but NO papers!
i smell the oranges when they arrive ;-) and i make my own bread
I aspire to make my own bread one day
I won't buy the oranges unless they have a good smell - no smell means stale orange to me
it is very easy, just required forward planning as you need to leave it to rise between stages
pleat
pleats
oops pat
there is the pt too
So sorry. I don't chat often because I am soooo stupid. Are there any sunday papers in the bin?
bound to be, along with some chocolate
Do I have to come back out?
i' not quite sure what the riules are ;-)
off for breakfast - bbl
Do you check it regularly in case there are babble squatters in there?
I've been in there since 1985.
Hi Dachef and Pat, Chrissie, red. I haven't found the 8 and 9 letter words yet. How are you getting on?
Hi hydra, it
I've found only 1 8-letter word.
Morning all.
Hi Molly! How have you been doing?
My lips are still above the water level. How are you?
Doing well, although my timing stinks. My son just woke up. Gotta go. Glad you're still partially above water level! :-)
li9/54 starts with 1 of the li4/4's the other 9 is cl5/12, 7/36 then 9/60. Hi Molly, bye Brookie and hello hydra.
Got the 8's and 9's, but thanks FM.
wtg, hydra was asking but I think she is deep in the grid.
Oops, I must have missed that. Not enough coffee yet I suppose.
66 P words kind of made me want to go back to bed. : P
it is excessive what ever way you look at it. Hands Molly coffe and heads towards the kitchen as lunch will be ready shortly. ttfn.
Well, I got plenty of good sleep last night. So I have some sausage and biscuits working and I will just chip away at this big one.
is that cl9 a compound of the five and something?
oh no i see
Not a compound, but you're on the right track.
i got it
Kind of a strange word, to me anyway.
Morning Hursh.
ed
certainly doesn't roll off the tongue easily...Hello all
well i'm proud for i have found 62 of the P's all by myself, that's not bad at all
Morning Lynx.
Nice going Hursh
thanks. hello all.
is atalante EVER coming back to babble?
I think you would have to as Haz that. I think they keep in touch off the board.
*sniff* I think she has more interesting pasttimes now
discovering new creatures and such
i should just send her a message i guess
halt, screeching, conversation brought to
phantoms: intact, intent
pleading sleepiness, getting late here
sleepiness due to australianness valid excuse, check
Hursh is speaking like Yoda. : D
:)
i met him in a swamp down in degoba, where it bubbles all the time like a giant carbonated soda... s-o-d-a soda...
so... how bout them miami heat?
Oh bravo Hursh!
I meant for your song, I missed news about the Heat.
oh the heat i don't care about, i just trying to keep the chog alive
Well, it's a rainy Sunday morning in most of the US, so I think a lot of people are sleeping in.
i'm in the US :) i'm only a wannabe brit.
I keep forgetting that.
i'm glad i do such a convincing impersonation
i can put that on my visa application someday

I am also getting contact lenses for my sporting (reffing) cause we can't wear glasses
do you wear glasses at the moment MRP?
am enjoying my babbling and chelsea vs newcastle. what a lovely way to spend the evening
JMC, a little bird in the chat log said you were calling my name yesterday.
I wear them for long distance lynxx, but the reading has become an issue so need long distance for driving/tv etc... medium distance for computer, and short distance for reading
do you eally need glasses for reading tho, mrp. just asking.
no peri, not really, but when I get tired, I can't see much close up either
I wear my glasses mostly for driving and TV
i was saying that i hoped you came to my party last night molly
I have long disance glasses for the day, and about 4pm need extra help
the music was great
how ws the party, jmc?
me too peri... especially at night

food was great and everyone was sweet
Sorry I missed it. Hope it was a great celebration.

Is canoli spelt with 2 n's?
yes
Well that explains that!
Good morning Annie! How are you?
I don't get the singular of the underwear word. I thought that was always plural. *Bashes head against Enable wall once again*
Hi car.! Fine and hope you are too
Hello Molly! don't hit your head too hard!
Molly, Hi, dont hurt yourself
Leaving the P's undone and moving along to the L
stepped away to go look at Sweetie's garden, now I'll scroll back to see what I missed
Hi Car. and Molly

Today I decided to start from the top and work my way down the grid..see I far I can get
Hi Mom!
that is a good way. Almost 6 years playing and I just hop all over the place
Bah humbug....isnt castinet a word?
I generally start the upper left. Sometimes I see if I can get at least 1 word from each to see how quickly I can get NBT. This morning I started at the left and am working my way down the column. Then on to the next column....
catanet
Whoops! Castanet (i believe)
Car. are you Carol R. on Facebook
good way, car.
Yes mom! With a picture of eeyore as my icon! Friend!!!!!
yes, eeyore as a pic.
I saw it under uusues group she made, of which I am one :-)
Yeah! Me too!

that is where I saw you but didn't know if it was you or not
(((Crossy))))
good morning Crossy!
Hi crossy :)
since this has now become a regular event i give you the first of crossy,s tidbit of the day!....
In real life, The Cosby Show’s Phylicia Rashad is only ten years older than Sabrina Labeauf, who portrayed her eldest TV daughter, Sondra.
Annie, did you get all your "eyes" in the 5th column?
(squeals....)
Crossy, I love your tidbits of the day
nope, only have 3 Mom
That just seems weird!

Hello uusue
hi uusue :)
I have agreed to run for treasurer of my (very small Unitarian) church; congregational meeting is today. I think I must be nuts :-)
sounds like it. But you will be doing a great job for sure.
hi uu! time to go with the changing of the guard.
lol,hope you loke micromanagement
like
yes, the former treasurer is stepping down and the list of arms they were twisting was quite short
you going, TOwl?
yes sprite. don't hang here much anymore
ok hun, glad to see you, however short. Have a good day/night.
Good morning all
tc, TO!
morning Mr Bob
hi, mr bob!
bye. i'd ask for the capucci theme but my last theme was overrruled. not a member in good standind anymore appartenltly ;)
oh, well, I just have my own theme :-)
which one was overruled, TOwl?
and what is capucci theme?
i have paid my dues...
l
I don't overrule themes unless they really will cause trouble... so what was it?
lol,the p,s are easy, just type in every single pl word you know :)
and ones you don't know like pl 4/9
*sigh* what's with people nowadays... indirect reproaches and no answers when asked directly... I aim to please everybody but I am no miracle worker.
hi JBV
hi sprite!
hi everybody!
hello JBV
hi Annie! big grid today
I'm ready for my second coffee - need a break, see you later
hi folks!
howdy jbv
hi welki
howdy welki
and bye again JBV
hello welki :)
sprite - psssssssst - please yourself, don't worry about everyone else
ok, off to church, wish me luck! (whether that means becoming treasurer or not I am not sure :-)
g'luck, sue!
yeah... in that case I should quit the icon themes. I don't mind doing them, but getting angry people about it isn't my idea of fun. I don't even know what cavalli or capucci is. Both spellings in chog, I see.
bye uusue, all the best and I hope the treasurer thing works out
i don't think she was angry, sprite ... look at the post, she ended it with a wink
lol sprite,is someone getting all bent out of shape over icon themes??? must be a slow day if they are
hey crossy .. will think of you later when eating bacon :)
you do icon themes, min does clue stories,i do crossy,s tidbit of the day.you like it or just ignore it:)
mmm bacon
something about her theme being overruled, which I never would do, and no answer about her theme or which one was overruled. Well, I guess it is capucci, I take it the link was for the theme. I should learn to read minds.
hmmm ... what do i do?
yeah well, the no answer thing. i get that
well I like you, crossy ;) And welki and Annie and and and and... mucho amigos.
you lighten up chat, welki
*beaming* thanks, sprite! that's a great compliment!
if we can get around the way you american spell colour and arbour i am sure we can avoid icon wars lol
well earned
and neighbour.
all those;)
I love that word, neighbour. Or even better: neighbourhood
theatre/theater
<-- dual citizen, uses both spellings
there are many
me too, welki :) Though when typing, I tend to use british spelling. But in babble I do both :) Plus some others that look odd but who knows, enable might like them.
enable keeps us guessing
enable rocks. It often rewards my creativity.
aargh, red bar of doome
hello periwinkle
hey spritey
quick! call anthony hopkins! he makes a great exorcist!
lol welki! We could do him for a theme
mmmm fava beans....
*dons hockey mask*
help with li9 pls
sexy, ru
hi ruru, no kissing today?
(hi peri .. don't have it yet)
no.. not really.. just pucking around
no using list yet, someone mentioned it earlier
me neither. You all call for icon themes, I added TOwls theme and welki's one and I can use more.
li9 - l plus not out meeting a Spanish cheer that has consumed food.
how about hair color, blonde, brunette or red?
ohhh, i'm embarrassed, sprite. i think i've changed my icon twice
ty Haz, got it
hi Haz :) Good one, periwinkle, am putting it in
You're welcome.
was not sure you would, tyy, sprite, ws just going to say blondes, cause I am one :)
Good morning/afternoon all.
<-- is a blonde at heart
I have 46 of the 66 p words
I am a blonde at brain.
May 22, it will play, periwinkle
I am discouraged. I bought the hair products my hairdresser uses and a new hair drryer and my hair still looks like crap.
bacon time .. later folks!
oh, will look for it, sprite but may not change mine.
bye welki, don't try and lure crossy away from here ;)
periwinkle, it is perfectly ok to suggest a theme without doing it yourself :) It must be for fun, no obligation.
drying one's hair isn't usually contributing to the lustre of it. Have you tried to do without for a while?
Good morning, all!
hi Judi
yes. sprite, but then it just droops. I hair dryer is suppoed to promote shine and reduce friziness. it is not frizzy just too soft and not sleek looking like when Lauren did it.
bacon? where?!
Am supposed to meet my god daughter for lunch and the weather predicts raind and possible thunderstorms
no matter peri, eat laugh, love and dance in the rain;)
I just don't like getting caughte in a thunderstom. they scare me
been raining here for 2 days non stop so far
may just meet for a quick lunch tho
crossy LOVES a good thunder storm
Hi Haz and everyone else....
hi all. any quick clues for the 9s?
sprite, have coffee mugs been suggested?
me too. Once it breaks, that is, 'cause till that time my head hurts like crazy. Hi Flask!
hello mkg
we're expecting thunderstorms here too
well then crosdsy will come and go with me to lunch with my goddaughter. I will treat
Indian food
hi sprite.
I like coffee mugs. Good one, peri, here goes.
mornin babblers!
Hello, Flask - sorry, was doing an e-mail when you arrived.
bye for now
hi EvaN
bye periwinkle
i love the sound, the fury of a good storm,so much electricity in the air and lightning so close you can hear the air sizzle;0
yep, with thunderclaps you don't just hear, but feel
so, remember that time when i got hot sauce in my eye and then 15 minutes later my husband elbowed me in the face, drawing blood? yeah, that was good times...
no probs Haz!
*waves @ Haz*
eva? what are you talking about?
oh, just a few morning mishaps.
wazzup, EvaN?
hi everyone.. am moping as I thought "castile" was good, as in castile soap..
hi Aloy
hi sprite.. have hit a wall, so I'm going to zap something for a late b'fast, brb.. fun grid!
*Passes coffee and a ho-made blueberry muffin to Eva*
ok, icon theme, icon and list updated. I said I wouldn't but well, you know.
bfn Aloy, and hi Molly
does anyone have the 9 letter words they can clue me?
this is too big a grid.........
good morning everyone
thanks molly. ive got 2 batches of homemade Frosted Coconut Rhubarb Cookies in the kitchen too. :)
hi flosey
mkg, I have li9
cl9 and li9...one has to do with what is next to Godlieness and one has to do with flooring.
cl9 is a strange looking comparative for not dirty.
plz clue flosey
please clue molly
also going to make some white chocolate chip cookies today. debating if i want to add coconut and/or lime zest...
Only the cl9 does not end in ess
thanks molly for the cl9
li9 - l plus not out meets a Spanish cheer that has onsumed food.
I vote for coconut. Lime and chocolate are not a combo I would enjoy.
thanks Haz, was half way through it! you saved the day
not getting it haz
Cute clue Haz.
You're welcome, flosey.
molly, one of my favorite cookies that i have ever bought has white chocolate with coconut + lime...
Well then go for the lime Eva.
*consumed food. The Spanish cheer has consumed food.
don't normally care for white choc. but that sounds good Eva
got the li.
ty
but im also making them for a coworkers bday, so i dont wanna put too much of what *I* want in them...heh
now for cl
cant get ending for cl 9. any clues?
comparative ending, mkg
ty got it.
never heard the word.........dont trust it is a word.
hah I found a river in egypt
<----- Wishes she worked with Eva
hehe, well, our "birthday baking fairy" (as we nicknamed her) just left the office, so im going to try to pick up where she left off...
that cl9 is not a word!
flosey, never argue with enable :)
Good day to all.
morning Scrabs
hi Scrabs
howdy scrabbs
Rain, rain, rain here but I am grateful to not live near the Mississippi River.
I agree about the cl9 and I will argue with Enable any old time. It's outdated and weird.
rain non stop last 2 days here also scwabby
raining here today too
then by all means, argue
wishes it would rain here
Yep, it started here Friday 6 pm--I was mountain biking in the park and got home just in time.
Eva, if every office had a Birthday Baking Fairy, life would be tons better.
Aw, wildcat, Texas needs rain so badly!
its true, molly!
hi wildcat
yes we do. it's a desperate situation
hi everyone
I agree with Molly. I want a birthday baking fairy
would someone clue the third ca 6/24?
although we do have one lady who finds it therapeutic to bake but she won't eat any of it so she brings it in, but it's a random thing
News story featured that contrast, wildcat--massive flooding from Mississippi River and drought in Texas.
it's so unfair to both places
missing that one too ru, sorry
ca6/24 - three for what's worn on your head, three for most of what is the straightest route between two points.
i do that sometimes, wildcat. i will keep a small amount at home for us, but the rest i take to work
thanks Haz
thank you haz
thanks Haz
I like random treats.
You're welcome.
Random treats are the best random acts of kindness
9 of us had dinner last night for one friend's birthday. Dessert was brownies + ice cream + hot fudge sauce + whipped cream. Yummy.
Oh Scrabs, that is one of my favorite desserts.
*covers ears LALALALALA*
it's so easy but soooo yummy
Me too, Molly.
ae 7/28 plz
wow Scrabs, even at breakfast time that sounds yummy
hello ivesy
Ruru, you are in the grid today. wi4. : P : P
my blood sugar just went haywire just reading that scrabbs
ae7 - a type of wind
at le5 I'm not we5
whew halfway
Go wildcat. 284 more for me.
good morning, afternoon, evening all
Hi ivesy

thnx Haz
howdy ivesy

No Ruru, that you are not.
hi ivesy and aloy
Hi Aloy
leal
Free clue! Don't miss it!
wb Aloy :)
.. waves to Scrabbs who is in the pb
that's not the one she was asking for
eo6/18 - shortened version of the ae7 wind comes from the single e tile
lol, crossy is tryng to do just the p,c and s words first..darn thin g acount for 135 grid words all on their own!
eo + snakes are repti****
ty haz for the ae 7
that E is the same that Haz just clued, diff spelling
*waving from PB -- cannot speak because mouth is stuffed with food*
You're welcome, ivesy.
isn't that interesting... if my posts come through a bit slower, they will appear on yesterday's chog
me too.. left over broccoli/rice
ohh! just remembered i have some fresh peameal bacon in da fridge and some bagels....brb....semi-poink!
my love just started cooking for today. Chinese mie with lots of veggies and tiny meat balls with oriental seasoning, I think.
sounds yummy
something from the lower left T please
everything he cooks is yummy. I cherish him AND his cooking :)
Sprite, sounds delicious. Kudos to your love.
he is the best
do you take turns, sprite? we do.. last night he fixed a homemade pizza and a fresh salad
to44/5- froggy lookalike
he does all the cooking, Aloy.
ooh, he is indeed a keeper!
not possible from that T haz
the lower of the two together
Oh, left. Sorry.
he is, and not just for the cooking, grin. But his willingness to cook is something I treasure every day!
te8 - octopus part
.. searching for the froggy lookalike, ty for the clue Haz
ty would never have seen that
nbt
thanks Haz
tonight i am doing marinated red angus steaks ,crunchy oven baked stuffed russet taters with cheese, bacon bits sour cream and chives brussel snouts in a creamed butter sauce and a small greek salad with chynks of fresh crumbled feta
TY, Haz
You're welcome.
oh, to4, lol.. not to44, the longest word ever on a grid
oh good I have just enough time to get to crossy's for dinner :)
Brussels snouts--Belgian pig noses?
lol
although I"m not sure about the brussel snouts
LOLLL @ brussels snouts
the secret is to halve them then add the cream sauce before serving...mmm
my lol wouldn't enter
My son claimed he had to have medical help after eating ONE brussel sprout as a youngster. :-)
you have to admit crossy that was a funny typo
back just to say hello
hi ruby
my son calls them "garbage balls"
hello ruby
Haha, Cherry.
it was intentional wildcat..it is what we called them as children
hello rubyfoo
we always had garbage balls at Thanksgiving.. came right out of the garden
Haha, Crossy!
even better
hi Cherry, lol, yes children don't usually like them. Too bitter.
Clues for the 9's please?
the tile stats are crooked- what's with that?
cl and li scrabs
hello Kaplan
umm, Kap..
Try refreshing, Kaplan.
(worried about Kap's eyes)
daughter graduated college yesterday.
yay, congrats!
congrats kap and kap's daughter!
Yippee Kaplan!
Hello! Mazel Tov Kaplan!
the secret of cooking brussels snouts is to overcook them and then add butter
what's she going to do now?
gratz, Kaplan and daughter
sitting on her bare mattress in room full of boxes
congrats kaplan
argh nooooo rubyfoo! Never overdo them. Makes them even bitterer :(
Congrats to Kaplan's family and Hi Babbleland
that is a sad image!
hi DR
hi dr
She is in grad school- her first year grad combined with her sr year...moving into her first own apaartment
Hi Sprite
hi everyone
hi dr
Not sad, Ruby, the beginning of something new.
My baby is growed up!!
hi Natasha
roasted brussel sprouts are the best!
good for her
Hi DR
no, I mean REALLY overcook them, to the point where they get sweeter
Hi Ruby and Wildcat
Met boyfriend's grandparents and parents yesterday...
I boil them first after cutting them in half and then saute them in salted butter
Hi Ruby
husband would never eat them before
how did that go, Kap?
Scrabs, you know what is next to godliness.. end it with a comparative for the cl9.60
hi scrabbler
Hi Scrabs
My nephew (living w me since age 16) also just finished college.
surprisingly well.
yay scrab's nephew!!!
conGRADulations!
Congrats Scrabs!!
COngrats to you and your nephew as well Scrabs!
TY, Aloy. Now li9?
wonderful, Scrabs
gratz Scrabs and nephew
that is a good story, scrabs
one of my good friends graduated yesterday too ... had to go back to school after her divorce, finished college at age 43
Quite an accomplishment given long and ongoing history of family upheaval.
have to give her a lot of credit!
Good for her, wildcat! That is perseverance!
bless her heart and her persistance
my parents raised my nephew
yes she worked long and hard while working up to 3 jobs at a time
my son graduates from high school in two weeks and my daughter is supposed to graduate from college in August
I wish my youngest nephew (17) would have moved in w me. He was permitted to quit HS last Sept after failing 9th grade twice.
aww that is heartbreaking scrabs. such wasted potential
how sad, Scrabs
that is too bad; it sounds like he would have been much better off with your guidance
Big bro is trying to push him on. Middle bro was also permitted to quit HS but he is now in community college and will go on to 4-yr school soon.
hope it works
I hope so.
if I'm not too nosy, what happened with your sister/brother/inlaws that this happened to those boys?
community college can do the trick for dropouts; then they can go on and finish with 4 yr degrees
my son is starting there as a baby step to 4 yr college
how can there be 66 P words in this grid??
My sis = "bipolar" + weak/inadequate parent. Dad = alcoholic/inadequate parent. Divorced. Very sad that these 2 are unable to teach and guide their boys.
I don't know 66 p words!
that is sad scrabs. they are very fortunate to have you in their lives
it is great that you can take up the slack
sounds familiar, Scrabs. Very sad. Am glad for them you are there to help them, it makes such a huge difference.
I had all 3 boys at my house every weekend for 10 yrs, took on the oldest, but I did not have the power and control that was needed to completely rescue the boys.
ach, dinner, see you later
Kap!!! Congratulations to your daughter!
bye ruby
Bye Ruby. Enjoy.
enjoy, rubyfoo
bye, ruby
thank you. i'm so exhausted!
does anyone know the meaning of the word convocation?
what is next for her, Kap?
you did what you could scrabs. it sounds like it was helpful in many ways
It's such a great feeling to see our kids achieve.
see post below
calling together, literally
From the dictionary...a group of people gathered in answer to a summons; assembly.
in 6 please?
thank you. they had a convocation before the graduation, but no body knew what it meant
They like to use high falutin' words at graduations to confuse the commoners. : P
con + together, towards a central point vocare = to call, to summon
in6 - give it a comparative ending
ty.
convocation sounds like a bunch of prisoners at a job fair
True, Ruru.
yvw :)
*Haz* my saviour*
Or two nuns, sharing their vocation.
saviourette?
to7 help please>
My nephew just texted re college graduation next Saturday. I must decide on a grad gift.
haz.. always has the words I can't find
to7 - painted in a pedicure
FISH ME
THanks Haz
TY, Haz. Anyone with a clue for li9?
You're welcome.
*hits DR over the head with a tiny guppy* Compounds are tough!
Haz has the bestest clue for the li9
hi scrab - sounds like something you put on the kitchen floor with a different ending
hi everybody
start with 1950's floor mat. and and w/consumed
hello grant, wb JBV
Hi JBV
li9 - l plus not out running into a Spanish cheer that has consumed food.
hey sprite
Aha, Monkey found it!
Mille grazie, JBV.
good monkey. Have a banana.
congratulations to all the graduates, moms and dads of graduates, aunts, cousins, etc. - Hooray for all of you!
cryptic clue: a picnic pest with a vocation
It's not easy to guide someone through adolescence and young adulthood. Then there is the cost of college.
so very true, Scrabs. My son is almost 15 now. Not easy at all.
So many trials and tribulations.
yes, and all the insecurity combined with the arrogance of youth :)
wow, fireflies. Very nice grid!
Yep. They know it all one day and then during the night they come into your bedroom, crying about life being so tough..
Yay Sprite!
found the li 6.. Carefully buries poor monkey who looked for it
yahoo for sprite, wtg!!!
comforts Ruru on the loss of him monkey
congrats to Sprite !
down to the double nickel, short break time, getting "babble eyes" (-:
*hugs* to you all, thanks for the great company and help.
Ruru lost his monkey??? Yee Gods!
Going to kitchen for more coffee--anyone want some?
i told my 17 year old to go and get a job and buy a house while he still knows it all;))
EXACTLY Crossy!!!
does anyone have a clue for de8 please?
I wish I were as self-confident as so many adolescents are. Of course for them it is an illusion due to naivete.
Someone who washes a car with exact precision.
They pay attention to the de6s
ah, thanks Molly
Glad to help Flosey.
would never have thought of that!
but we must balance that with their ambition and fire.we do not want to quench the energy of a young mind, the world will do that soon enough
Enable has opened up my brain to all kinds of absurdity.
True, Crossy. Idealism keeps the young going, and many of us oldsters.
Hello again! Back from church!
Hi Car
all reminds me of a very good book i must reccomend Boys life by robert mccammon
DR!!!!!!
http://www.robertmccammon.com/novels/b oys_life.html
good to see you Car! Hope you are well
I am. And you?
Hi Car. Is that the one the movie was based on? Hugh Grant movie.
Hi Scrabs!
I am good as well thanks
watching the end of West Side Story with Jakester
I have never seen that movie the whole way through.
5 stars on Amazon. On my wish list now. That author has written many highly rated books.
one of my fav authors
he also did 'swan song"
I love the music in this movie
a book i have read several times
both have been replaced for my bookshelf at least once
...approaching halfway...
Stats please for the single E in the right column?
"Boy's Life" is a classic. Very unlike most of McCammon's work.
Me too Scrabs!
eo6/18 comes from that tile.
Looks like a great book, Car!
eo 6/18 Car
do not forget "swan song" it truly rocks
I meant halway done, Scrabs! LOL
Many past clues did not register for me.
eo plus a dyslexic King of the Jungle
ty Haz
"Swan Song" is a little darker. It's been compared to Stephen King's "The Stand". "Boy's Life" is on the lighter, more home spun side for McCammon.
right now i am reading of all thing"david copperfield" by dickens..never had the chance to read it before..never realized it was such a large book:)
You're welcome, DR.
hi all
these p's are confusing and awful
Hi mom
not getting the clue....would the king of the jungle have another O in it?
Hi Sammysmom!
Time to go. Enjoy the grid, bye!
howdy sammy
tc haz
sound like king of the jungle but different 2nd vowel
thanks haz.. have a nice day
but dyslexic spelling, right?
nm...got it anyway.
Not really, Car
Ty!
Last chance for coffee. It's ready and I'm going to the kitchen.
Yes please!
11 more p's...grrrrrrrr
Go, ruru, Go!
Alright, Car. BRB.
do not feel bad i have 37/66 on the p,s so far
my family used to chide me about being a hoarder of STUFF.... oneof the things i have hoarded over the years is left over wood. lumber scraps and peices of furniture and such... today, i say walter eyeing a pile muttering something about building an ark
hi all - back for some more
love words with both latin AND english plurals
we have gone from a long , cold winter to a long cool spring with rain every day.
Hi again Glantarell! Hi Harry!
we've been dry lately, but have a week of rain forecast
hi ee
a hoarder! run!..crossy runs and trips over his pile of old records,4 lava lamps,5 old nintendo game systems and a stack of national geographics spanning 10 years
any clue for the ca6/24 between the song and the metal process? the 3rd 6/24?
ahhhhhhh crossy, a man after my own heart!
Hi Glantarell and Harry
Here's your coffee, Car. Caution, it's hot.
Ahhhh...delicious! TY!
hi scrab

.. back for more!

Hi Aloy! TY!
TY Aloy - been bothering me for ages
yw, glad you found it
I went to Accuweather the other day....the rest of the month of May has clouds and rain every day!!!! : (
*off in the distance is the finish line..p's are done*

Go Ruru!
190 left here
I have 216 words found , but still don't have NBT!
I dont have NBT either Car
i still don;t have nbt - that elusive E in the last column has me beat at the moment
It was just clued a few minutes ago...eo 6
Cs conquered
Yeah Glantarell!
Back again - here's the cure for anyone who likes to accumulate stuff (including me, of course) just watch one - ONE - of those terribly depressing and frightening shows about people who live on top of 3 feet of compacted garbage .... ugh - I happened to see one last week and I have been cleaning ever since :)
Hi JBV!
hi car!
hi JBV
Ds done
Wow!
NBT
<---- jealous!
<----content with 203 to go
<--- proud of 167 to go
No pressure, Car, it's just fun to be here with Babble buddies.
which is why iam starting to divest myself of some of the 1500 books i have collected over the years... have given over 600 away and actually thrown away 3 books. have earmarked some valuable ones for the grandkids as a future college fund.. boxes are packed and labeled ready to go to their houses, so their parents can shuffle them around, heh heh
got my fireworks, but I'm still here for the chat :)
<------ now feels silly.....
<--- Serious is boring :)
congrats on your FW, JBV!!!
Oh my goodness Sammysmom! What a job!
Car, I am a recovering former OCD Babbler.
do you ever wish it were easier to give things away? I have been dealing with that recently, it is not so easy
sc 5 /12 leads me into crossys mid day tidbit of the day... sc5/12ings are from the days of sail. when a schooner was returing after a delivery and had no return cargo,it would be "in ballast" and often it would ballast"tween decks" as it would often handle better than ballasting in the depths of the hold and shifting boards were measured by sc5/12lings and put in pace to stop the ballast from shifting turing tacking:))....
COngrats JBV
Well done JBV!
well done JBV
during
My parents grew up during the Great Depression and are very frugal. I have learned to keep things "because you never know when you might need it."
TY Crossy!
on a more serious note, (hope this doesn't disturb anyone, but it's what I'm dealing with) - my husband's suits - more than 50 - you wouldn't believe how hard it is to find someone who will take them and pass them along to
the Tin Man would not be happy with me.. I missed re5.10
what size?
me too, Scrabs - same upbringing, same mentality, and I am very proud of it most of the time, but a reality check is also useful once in a while
Can you give them to a school for drama costumes?
Wow JBV, I would think people would be happy to receive a nice dress suit.
woo nbt with 211 togo
or a small community theater?
well, godthaab - he went up and down in weight, so there's quite a variety there, and I'm sure I'd have to some work in sorting which I haven't done yet
jbv..live theatre places would LOVE to have them
Nice Harry!
hello again everybody, 178 to go
Great minds Crossy!
hi ruby
What kind of books?
There are also job placement centers that accept donated dress clothes for people who cannot afford them.
hi aloy
snap dr
I need the middle-lower e for nbt
also good idea Molly
you know, that's an idea - HS drama department, I was thinking more along the lines of ajobs program, but there's nothing around here - I saw one website where they accept donations in Manhattan but I would have to figure out how to get them there! I want it to be EASY :)
When my dad died my mom discovered an org that rehabs the homeless. Cleans 'em up and outfits them and then preps them for job interviews. An incredible success rate. They got all of my dad's (many!) suits, ties, shoes & decent shirts.
I recently just found out that our town hall keeps a closet of suits and business attire in a closet. That way if someone is in need of a suit for a business interview or such, they can come and see if there is one for them.
JBV, most places will come to you for donations.
my sister is a hoarder and used to send me "m bags" of books from the US but they've discontinued the service
see jbv?? babble is a wealth of information;)))
that's what I 'm looking for Michnick but believe me I have not had any success so far
Where are you JBV? My mom also gave a lot of stuff to Purple Heart when she finally moved. They always came to her to get the stuff.
Hi michnick!
Es executed
Hi car! and everyone!
we give a lot to Purple Heart
One more week until my son's wedding!!
Hooray!
what's Purple Heart? - also, beware of these places that come to pick up bags of clothing - many of them just recycle the fabric as scraps - I don't want that, I want someone to actually be able to wear the suit
Purple Heart and Salvation Army are both good places to donate clothes.
oh, Mazel Tov, Michnick!
how exciting, Michnick
Mazel Tov Michnick
Oh happy day! You must be getting so excited!!!!! What number wedding is this in the line up?
Purple heart is a vet's org. They use the stuff for vets.
Purple Heart is an equivalent of Salvation Army. Look them up on line. They are reputable.
This is wedding #3 out of 3 in 5 months!! After this I need a vacation.
AmVets also collects clothing in our area up north
Amvets will come to you, JBV
How did the other ones go? I bet you have just been having the time of your life! And yes, you need a vacation now!
They were both amazing! I love being a mother in law and I just love my 2 new sons in law. (They are brothers). I am wondering how it's going to be to have a daughter in law!!
that sounds wonderful, michnick!
This is the most fun I've had in my adult life so far!
I am now smiling ear to ear for you Michnick!
Nice Michnick!
Great, Michnick, and how neat that brothers married your daughters.
Thank car. Wish I could have some of my babble friends come to the wedding!
just you wait for the grandchildren; THAT part will be even more fun!
It's a great story Scrabbler.
Amen Ruby!
I can only imagine ruby foo!
I have always wanted some of my friend's husbands to have brothers for ME>
Zach is just hacking away with a cough in the other room. It is so hard to listen to.
Does he have asthma?
No. A bad cold topped off with postnasal drip and allergies.
Loose, wet, phlegmy cough? Nighttime cough too?
Scrabs....you are not working today are you?
Sounds like she's doing Babble-rounds.
Nope but I am still always a doc.
You are here to play and relax. i have given him delsym and i am keeping him well hydrated. As a mom it is just a horrible thing to listen to.
In stores I'll hear a kid with a juicy, wet cough and want to listen to their chest.
:) Smiling and Car and Scrabs
Wet, loose, frequent cough is not likely to be from PND. watch him. I'll be there by the morning.
I'm enjoying the chat but give up on finding more words, 177 left :(
I'm almost halfway.
I hate to do this, but I think I need to as for help with the tile I cannot find a word for. It is the second T in the second column.
wi 6/30 please?
octopus arm car
I keep looking for castanet....
Good grief! TY!
Hello again wildcat

Bye Aloy! Bye Ruby!
ok! 194 left! bbl
Bye Harry!
bye car
Bye Car- I can SO relate!
Bye Mich!@
Bye Scrabs
Well, Car, a frequent cough is not from post-nasal drip. <---not like a faucet dripping so will not cause a frequent cough.
lol reminds me of son's 2 month span between grade 8 and 9 I swear he grew 2 inches
[{{DR}}}so nice to see you!
he probably did flo
: )
Bye kids. Be good.
Uh oh. What are you thinking scrabs?
I surprised by that. I thought dripping down the back of your throat would cause a cough.
me too.
Pneumonia or asthma. Recurrent episodes of coughing, especially if at night and with exertion = asthma. Molly, the mucous flows down slowly and infrequently, not like a faucet. PND is a wastebasket excuse for a cough.

He started coughing at church and hasn't stopped scrabs. He has had a cold / runny nose for a week or so.
He is sitting up, walking around, eating and drinking, but still hacking.
Bye Wild.
Ah, I did not read far enough back in the chat. I didn't realize it was cough with exertion. I was thinking scratchy, irritated cough.
It is a scratchy, irritated cough.
Then when he runs around, like into the other room to grab something, he coughs too.
Okay, it's a terminology mix up then. To me, hacking = harsh, raspy, bringing up stuff cough. Just a byproduct of communication by typing. : )
I am so confused!

Poor kid!
Scrabs, isn't coughing caused by movement associated with asthma?
I think Scrabs left :(
You can do it!
I shouldn't have said anything. I hate to bother her on her day off!
Exertion worsens an asthma cough. Gotta go, net book battery is about to die. ((Zach))

afternoon babblers!
more clues wud help me, car. thanks
Hello Eva! Hi Bugsaw!
Hi everyone. NOt trying to be rude, just a huge grid
eo + the king of the jungle, but change the second vowel to a different vowel. (TY to Haz for the clue)

oops
just finished a second afternoon of cookie-baking. its a wonder i dont weigh a ton!
yummmm...coooooookies!
ou house must smell wonderful!
your house rather
yesterday was Frosted Coconut Rhubarb cookies and today was White Chocolate Chip with a touch of Lime
O.M.G.
I feel junior league. My house just smells like chili and cornbread.
You are killin' me!
that sounds good to me, molly!
We're making pizza later
<----thighs getting bigger just thinking about all the goodies!
hi again, all!
well, I am NOT the church treasurer. Whew!
Hi uusue! Dodged that bullet!
Oh yeah Sue, that's all you needed after just being done with all the grading.
thankfully (for my thighs) i am taking most of these cookies to work for a coworkers bday. thankfully (for my tastebuds) i will be keeping a few here at home. ;)
I had a moment of pique at having lost the election but then reminded myself that if I'd really wanted the position I would have given a MUCH better speech :-)
In the words of the memorable Rhoda Morgenstern..."I don't know why I'm eating this chocolate. I should just apply it directly to my hips."
Sue
exactly, molly, although I thought it was Erma Bombeck (not that we haven't all thought of that!)
Do you remember the episode she found out she was allergic to cottage cheese?!?!? I love that one!
I remember Rhoda Morgenstern and his sister Brenda
Sue's subconscious triumphs.
it often does, Molly :-)
That was classic TV Car. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
<--- has no idea who Rhoda Morgenstern is
Mary Tyler Moore's side kick on her show.
Mary Tyler Moore was still my favorite. My family quotes that show constantly!
ah. never really watched it (there were several decades where I didn't watch much tv)
"You have spunk Mary. I hate spunk"
I can still get in tears laughing watching the Chuckles the Clown funeral episode. Great stuff.
Oh Lou!
Mr Grant!
Giggling now!
I remember the Dick Van Dyke show
hints for the bottom-left T?
Murray had the best lines, though. Ted was such a putz...but I loved him! And god bless Betty White!
it has just occurred to me that I don't really have anything to do! good heavens!
I watched Dick Van Dyke, but, again, Mary Tyler Moore was the best part!
Nice uusue!
Yup!
Number after nine + Ave Mar** then latin plural.
tenia
crud.
thx, molly, didn't have those but they come from the t above
nope, thats not bottom-left...
hello car!
And I already have them to boot. Figures. (slinks away to PB)
and every one else too!!!! :)
octopus arm
Trif!!!!
Okay, is it the weird extension of the canvas dwelling?
great photo, trif!
TY car
thank you uusue
I have pl and pt of the canvas dwelling, molly, neither from that dratted lower t
canvas dwelling + cut** pie
So....Z has invited the father over to hang out this afternoon.
ty Molly
HA! that was one of them, thx molly! now nbt!
got NBT and NBS. just toddling on toward halfway...
Yeah Eva!
Is octopus appendage the other one?
Yes
I need a 9 for the NBS, anyone?
it is, molly, thank you!!!
sounds like a good opportunity for you to beat it, car. wanna come hang here?
BIch...not dirty + one who doesn't tell the truth, misspelled.
I have some typing to do. I really don't like to leave him in the house "unattended"
ooh, thx again molly, now nbs!
TY Molly!
I have strenuous objection to that 9.
tyvm Molly
I agree molly, that 9 is ridiculous. I can't find a way to use it in a sentence, even
my cat is cl9 than my dog.
(not that that is a sentence I would ever utter even if true)
that doesn't really work, uusue. It would just use the =er ending
no - at any given moment my dog may be cl5er than my cat (especially if the dog has just had a bath), but my cat has cl9 habits. (I think that is correct usage)
Its a stoopid word.
right up there with nonhero from yesterday.
I see what you are saying, but I would still say "My cat has cl5er habits than my dog"
I agree car!
The cat has just pointed out that she is better than the dog in every possible way.
That what ca4 are supposed to do!
Ty Bugsaw!
I would appreciate a clue for the lone e in the right had column
the little knife cut cl9 than the big one.....?
eo 6....eo + king of the jungle but with a different second vowel (TY again Haz)
That being said, apparently the OED doesn't recognize it s a word. O, Enable!
eotarzan?
eo + letters of la4/4 scrambled, often spelled with an a at the beginning, means of the air (such as an eo**** harp)
just kidding, I got it. thanks car, I have seen that one before, but always forget it
No....eogeorge!
Ooh! Finished the N's!
yay, car!
I didn't even mean to! It just happened!
Try all you want folks. No one who speaks the English language is going to convince me that cl9 is a word.
It does seem like you should say "more cl***ly" - like the discussion we had about impiest vs more more impish
hint for it Molly
Less than 100 to go!
Bichon, do you want a hint for it?
I agree, rasta (and I wasn't trying to defend the word, was just trying to use it in a sentence)
yes, please
Molly's clue from before was not dirty (cl5) + one who does not tell the truth, but spelled a bit oddly.
The cat made her do it!
I used it in a sentence at 2:13, sue
wait, I have the cl 9. What is the other one?
yes, and I used it at 2:09 and 2:10, rasta, it still seems like an awkward usage.
li9/54
Oh, I agree, bad word.
The cat is still annoyed by it.
five more minutes, and then I am going back to my housework....kick me off guys, have my back, okay?
Mt. Washmore is calling me, so I will do.
gotcha, trif, 5 minutes :-)
but given that ti's a non-word, I think you've used it wrong in your sentences, because it's a comparative of an adverb, not an adjective, so it needs to modify a verb.....
no wonder the cat is complaining :-)
My head hurts from all this grammar!
Clue please for OL 5/10?
don't have it, sorry. Will look
times up for this happy babbler. Have a cl9 day friends!
TRIF!!! 5 minutes are up...
Bye sweetie! I am right behind you. Just want to finish these O's.

i am so tempted to just use an old photo today... but that would be BAD!!!!!!!!!
interesting icon m9 -- stopped at the house years ago but didn't know the bottles had contained embalming fluid -- for some reason I thought they were beer bottles.

I'm doing a project I try and do every year.

very cool nan
that I in the upper left corner is mocking me

sorry to hear that Red. Something else will come along.
Hi Welki
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
good evening Min. I am well, how are you?
I'm well. I am about to give up on this bugger of a grid
me too! 1 more 8 letter word and I am out of here. :-)
with 182 left I will say my goodbyes. ((Hugs)) to all of you
Goodbye Mom! I will see you tomorrow in the chat log
Good night Min, have a great day tomorrow
GN Mom.
I figure I can fing some of the 4 letter ords still, as I have 209 left!
yay food
i have 210, red. good evening
Hi Dc.
How are you?
i'm pretty well, thanks. And you?
I'm hanging in there, having the hip surgery In 2 weeks. Not very happy about it.
oh dear. Bone shaving, joint coating...?
Rimming of the misshaped acetabulum, and labral repair. No training for 18 months. Sad Panda. But I will be swimming.
oh, my. Hope it goes well. Do keep up on PT
you'll be able to run again?
Apparently I will be able to run again, but nothing big for about 2 years, we will see. I think I can get doing better by 10 months.
may it be so
huge changes. Pain issues brought this on?
yeah! i got 200 words!
go, go jenmo!
Yes, That and some weakness noted by my coach, I can't straight lift up my left leg if I am laying flat. that seemed off, so I saw the ortho and he noted my xray had an "alpha angle"
Whoooo HOOOO Jen!!!!!
thanks, dc and red!
bummer. Nice that you had coach to provide add'l guidance
Yes, now If I can somehow surmount the depression, I think I can handle it. next month is going to be awful.
yes next month will be awful. Hip procedures leave you way out of commission. :/ You are young for such procedure, so excellent prognosis for recovery
thanks DC. I'll be glad when the surgeon does his part so I can get started on my part! For now, I am just in some pain and very very irritable, making everyone at work really hate me.
How is Tom doing?
He was most of the way to getting listed for heart transplant in Richmond, when his insurance company informed him that VCU is not covered, but Hopkins is, 5 months into the screening.
so, he's steeling himself to start the process over again in Baltimore.
Ooooh Really annoying, and why would they not do it at the beginning. :(
he was in a bit of a funk because of that.
If you need any Help IN Baltimore, my cousin lives there, she's awesome...
yeah, we wondered the same thing. The concept that VCU Medical Center, the largest teaching hospital and program in Virginia would not be covered never occurred to us.
thanks, red, i'll keep that in mind. Baltimore is happily only an hour away.
She does not drive, has MS, but if you needed a place to be "Out of the hospital" she will feed you some nice gluten free food.
thanks for the offer :)
i am eating glutinous food as we 'speak' :)
LOL, I maybe should not offer up my cousin and her family so freely!!
i know tons of peeps in Baltimore area, so when time comes, i'm not too worried.
I am still using Hoisin sauce on multiple things Seain, thanks for that instruction.
cool. You should check out Soy Sauce Paste -- it's a thicker, richer form of soy sauce. In real Chinese restaurants they give the paste form with egg rolls, at it sticks to the egg roll.
I think it would be great on some salmons. I usually have better luck with Caribean and latino foods...
ahhh. 201. words.
evening, all. back for the last *choke* 188 words.
going to nap, may be back later when in plain sight is on!
rest well, red
hiya, jes
i have 192 left to go
how goes, dc?
pretty well, and you?
spent most of the day at work; just got home, brought work with me.
but at least the calf's leg wasn't broken, and the kitten hasn't died (yet?)
oh, great news about the leg, and may the kitten pull through.
i hope so. it's in a box on my kitchen counter on a heater right now. will probably be up with it every couple hours all night. at least it's small enough to bring home and i don't have to drive back to the clinic every couple hours
ah, premie, or just abandoned young?
mother died
it's about 3 days old, probably has aspiration pneumonia from improper positioning when the owner was feeding it.
oh, my.
may have immune issues "helping" if it didn't get colostrum from mom. Owner doesn't know; says she found dead cat and newborn kittens together, no idea what happened.
The other day, out for a walk with my baby niece, i saw a cat with something across the street. Suddenly, a rabbit streaked in front of me and across the street. The cat looked at it, picked up what it had.
then walked off with baby rabbit. I bet the adult one was its mother. Nature at work.
yup. rabbits are yummy... a lot easier that way than the reverse though; if the cat'd caught the adult rabbit, the whole litter would starve. this way, the doe can take care of any that are left, and have another batch.
nature is not terribly kind.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews /8479391/Calling-animals-pets-is-insul ting-academics-claim.html Despite what certain academics and animal rights activists seem to think...
good point. the youngins are much easier prey, of course.
sigh. That academic POV seems a little over the top to me.
I about died when I read the objections to the use of the "wild"
same here. I mean, really.
i think these people could benefit from some time spent working at a wildlife rehab; maybe they'd understand that wild is exactly the correct word to use, BECAUSE it means uncivilised, unrestrained.
cAN ANYONE CLUE pl 6 . 21 FOR ME????
agreed, jes
Earth, Mars, and Venus are pl6
there are several of them inge
any clue for the e word for the e in far right column? only one word
pl6/21 is another name for braid
pl6/21 is is plural of 5/12 it bothered me so i filed a compl****
pl6/21 is creases in a skirt
pl6/21 means maleable, agreeable, often used with the prefix "com"
i don't have that one yet, mkg, sorry.
did i hit the one you were looking for?
i am still not half way. darn.
i got htem all jes. ty.
The e in the last column is eo6/18.
ah, that babblet. Ty, Bea
ty bea. but still not getting it yet. will keep trying.
MY GRID WILL NOT TAKE AMY OF THE WORDS YOU AE ARE CLUEING././' .L
have you tired closing out the program, inge?
sorry bea cant get them. any further clue? eosin not in grid.
sorry inge.
i cant even get half way.
back in a few, gotta check the kittum
only have 185.............ugh. any clues welcome. i have NO 8 letter words yet.
i have no 8s nor 9s, and have found 220 so far :) You are not alone, mkg :)
i have 3 o 4s and need the rest please.
hi dc.
213 for me, watching In Plain sight. loving this one.
i have the 9s. want clues?
if there's any Linkin Park fans here, the A Thousand Suns: Puerta de Alcalá Live EP is wonderful
stas, please, mkg :) ty
li 9 54 and cl 9 60. on starts with what you have for a kitchen floor, and other is a weird word i never heard. from the cl 5 12 opposite of dirty, and then a weird ending i dont believe is english.
any clues for the T words (2 of them) for the T in second column other the other T? i cant get it.
penalty box for red
i just cant get the t words. gee.............
the cl9 is a real word; means having the quality of being more tidy
weird word.
why not just say cl***er?
because that means that something is tidier. the cl9 means a person with the habit of being tidier.
if you'd done that in a cl9 manner, you'd have less mess
the room is cl5, the keeper of the room is cl5ly
they are related, but not the same meaning.
i broke half way!!!!!!!!!!!! i have 196 words and 195 left and off to sleep.
night all.
g'night, mkg
well done and g'night mkg
my siamese-if-you-don't-please is being her usual charming self, laying on me purring, and periodically trying to pull my glasses off because the ear pieces look like twigs so she can chew on them.
cute :) my elderly tabby is sitting in the window sill, watching the rain.
ugh. not liking the e words.
it's been mostly raining here for over a month. I spent most of April in WA, OR, and CA, while getting constant flood and tornado warning for home. Very exciting. I was hoping that tonight's storms brought no more tornados
morning all :)
good morning, mrp :) foot doing okay?
heh. we're "flooding". i always laugh about the flood warnings and people fussing here... it amounts to the shallow creek in the park coming over into some of the grass. i suppose technically it's flooded, but...
it's not like it's covering the roads or doing any damage or presenting any danger.
looking great dcs! only ran on it for 6 hours this weekend, but had good support and am now booted up and bedded
(((MRP))) hi everyone!
howdy, mrp :)
(((dawg))) !!!
hi jes! **hugs**
here, the river flooded Georgetown part of DC, Alexandria, VA, and scores of roads have been closed off and on.
evening, dawg
glad to hear it's doing well, mrp :)
hi DC hi Jes
hi dawg
don't fall off any more wobbly bridges and make lickety chase the chickens!
an EF0 tornado hit part of my neighborhood two weeks ago, brought down several score trees. Happily no injuries, deaths, nor significant building damage.
you guys are not having weather fun!!
efo?
you all have had some pretty rough weather this last month or so, DC
EF zero
Enhanced Fujita Scale Zero
Happily, nothing compared to Alabama
not familiar with it, sorry.
tornado rankings of how fast the winds are blowing to make the tornado and how much damage it causes, jes
Hi everyone! Hope you are all well.
hi terri
hi terri :)
the scale goes from EF zero to EF five
evening, terri
glad it was minimal damage, dc. we don't get many tornadoes here... had one last year about 30 miles south of here and it was a huge shock to everybody there.
we mostly just get wind and lightning storms. and snow in the winter.
i got to see some of the damage from the straight-line winds of '09 in Washington while driving up US 101. Wow, i knew that straight-line winds were dangerous and did damage, but i had no real idea of the scale. Amazing.
we dont' have the right conditions for tornado's Jes. not that they can't happen, just not as likely as in the flats.
here is not flat, but we still get them.
terri and I found a baby black kitten! we have adopted it and terri is taking it home to her son tonight. He is going to love it!!
a friend of mine was hit by a tree about 3 years ago during a wind storm.
well, DC gets the heat island effects for tornados.
wonderful, mrp :) So terri, you're in Australia, too?
So cute, this kitty!
dc--I live in that wind damaged area!
Yep I'm an Aussie.
ahhh, glad the kitten found a loving home!
that must have been a terrifying time, mccurl
put trees down across the power lines and roads; totaled his truck and very nearly him.
it was kind of spooky
glad he came out okay, jes.
took the end of his nose off. that's a mighty close call, right there.
i'm glad you and yours came out okay from those winds, too, mccurl
mother nature can have some real hair raising experiences in her bag of tricks.
being hit by a tree would be too frightening!
I live about 20 mins from MrP. We are good friends and our kids get on really well.
I really considered myself lucky because just a year before that we lived in a single side mobile home surrounded by HUGE trees that would have come down for sure----we took them out and put in a new home.
nifty, terri, nice to make your acquaintance. I live in the Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC
well, most of the time, my daughter and her son like to fight!
welcome Terri. hope you will become a regular babbler!
how very fortunate, mccurl :)
kids are wont to fight
good timing, mccurl!
like your icon lbd. lol
Likewise, dcseain.
hi mixi!
Hi, all --- quitting lurking.
hi, mixi
Thanx ibdawger, though my nickname at this point ought to be monkey!!
leanto isn't a word? it is around here!
take to o off, jes
that should read, take the O off, jes.
i got that word, dawg, thanks. but a leanto is an open faced shed with a slanted roof. it is definitely a word!
sometimes it's hyphenated, which may be why it's not accepted
i agree, Jes. we have them on this side of the mountain too.
time to head for the pillows. see you all tomorrow. gl with the grid!
heh. there's no system to the words Enable doesn't accept, DC. why does it like tegu but not degu? if anything, degus are more common critters. and it won't take cria (baby llama), but it'll take 2 spellings of tenrec? *shakes head*
sleep sweet, dawg :)
g'night dawg, sweet dreams
linea is also a word--it's the connective tissue "seam" where the abdominal muscles meet.
and three spellings of shtetl
8 left
bye dawg!
and that's not even english, dc! *pout*
hah. nice job, mixi! I've still got 104
go mixi!!
I have 297 words left!! but am heading up the alphabet
i have 150 to go.
w, t, and almost all s's down
s
fireworks.
congrats, mixi
the whole living room smells like strawberries. :/
yay mix!
s's gone!
my phantom: reordain
yay mixi!
hurrah! kitten is up to normal temp (finally!)
jes, did you hear we adopted a kitten off the street??
every morning at 1am it is out on the street when I take my dog for a walk... no collar, can't feel a microchip, and skinny
wonderful news, jes :)
yeah, mrp. how old is it?
you walk your dog at 1am? why are you awake and about at such an hour?
wouldn't hurt to take it to a clinic or shelter to scan for a chip, even if you can't feel one.
only a little thing... about 4 months old?
am taking him to the vet now to get him scanned for a chip
if he is owned by someone, they will contact that person and in the meantime, I will take care of it until they get it
if they don't want it, they will sign over ownership to me
yay! good on you, mrp :) and thanks for picking it up. it's very good luck to be adopted by a cat (or so i'm told by the cats that've adopted me)
jes, I don't sleep much since the carbomb
ah
I will give it to terri... it has to be deballed!!
she has a son and he has no siblings of dad or anyone, so it will be good for him (he is 13) to have the company of a pet
p's are done!! 200 to go
i have offered to pay for half the desexing and microchipping
that's very kind of you, mrp
does anyone have the in 6/18 . . . last one before fireworks.
in+untruth+consonant
thanks pcal2 . . . that did it.
