hi josh, wtg, and I'm off to bed now, goodnight
good morning all
bore da - good morning
bore da, Glantarell
how are you this morning sprite?
Quite good, Glantarell! And you?
grand - and we have sunshine
oh that is nice. We don't yet, but it isn't raining, so things are looking up.
i have been in germany for a week and there was no sunchine there, back yesterday to a miserable day but today is looking good
our pa4 of Europe has been pretty rainy the last week or so. But it should be much better from tomorrow on... they talk about temps of over 35 C.
back to work tomorrow
wow... little time to acclimatise (sp)
this grid seems to have a useful set of letters but i wish they were arranged a little differenty - i keep seeing phantom words
lol yes, so do I, lots and lots of phantoms.
evening all !!
good evening to you, mrP
evening MrP
this one looks 'interesting'... is it ok?
as long as you know 11 words beginning with Q
yes it is, rather smooth with a couple of challenges
ah, the q's are ok, it's the F, C, K & U 's that get to me!!
*giggles*
hahaha! :)
thankfully those aren't in the grid today!
mrP, I had such wonderful, empowering dreams last night! Just wanted to say that even when everything feels like shit, subconsiously things might still be working fine ;)
too true sprite!!
I have a song that I play in the car as I am driving along when people are coming at me in all directions of my life and peeving me... It's called "I Don't Care" by Fall Out Boy. I will put it in my bio
will find it on youtube
my son and I sit in the car and sing it out loud!!
please do!! it is very good!!
it is loading :)
the chorus is "I don't care what you think, as long as it's about me... the best of us can find happiness in misery!'
you will enjoy it sprite~!
LOL! Oh lovely!
so I find the wi4 straight off, and start looking for more! DUH!!! sitting here for 5 minutes looking for sweet FA!
do you like the song sprite!? The video is great, especially at the end when Sarah Palin features
lol that is what you get for not checking lickety ;)
I LOVE it. Very rewarding!
it just looks like there should be more wi's!!
load it and sing it out loud with the kids!!
it is so soothing!!
good id3ea
without an s or ed ending, this is a tiny grid!!
I like "For a Rocker" from jackson browne for the same reasons. "I don't wanna argue, I don't wanna fight, but there will DEFINITELY be a party tonight..."
cool sprite~! will go look it up!
I think you will like it
dreams are so important... so so cleansing
you know, I've been having those impotent dreams for so long. And lately things are looking up... and last night I was in power. SOOO great. And so healing.
my favourite dream was that I did something stupid when parking the car and damaged it... I had to then tell Lickety about it... I woke up, went down to the garage to see just how much damage there was and .... NADA!! It was so real though!
oh wow, good dream! Pa4 of my dream was that I saved and healed a tiny tiny baby. From my father! And when he wanted revenge, I faced him, defended myself and the baby and stared him down.
that is very empowering!!
do you have a dream book??
tiny tiny babies denote new souls
fireflies! A smoothie today. No, I don't have a dream book, I can remember my dreams even years later.
have you retrieved something new for your soul recently?
do they? Wow, even more meaning. I have the feeling the baby I saved and healed is my inner child.
I have two dream books, will look them up and try and come up with an answer for you next time I see you
oh nice :) I have done lots of dreamwork in my coaching training. Would be great to hear some of your experience.
ok, will definitely pull something together... maybe even a couple of interpretations
aw mrP, it was SO small. When I finally reached it, it was hanging in the fold of the blanket, at the side of the bed. Feverish as hell and totally apathic. It fit almost into one hand.
please send me the dream in email or on message on my facebook
you are on my FB right??
I will look into all the facets of the dream and put together an answer for you.
my email is in my bio
I think so. Am not a regular FB-er. I think I will do it on email. MrP, it would be wonderful! But only if you can spare the time and energy.
i can for you sprite :)
that is awfully sweet, mrP, but I really want you to put yourself first (and second and third) because you really need to be good for yourself atm.
sprite, I had an incredible experience last night
I am in the middle of a terrible flu, so so bad I cry when I wake up in the morning cause I am in so much pain.
you want to tell or rather email?
ok :)
I was laying on my back... I all of a sudden woke up and arched my back so violently, and felt my heart grasp and restart... it hurt!
please email me, I can then go through each part and comment on it
I will, thanks so much. But please tell on. What happened next?
I just was very freaked out!! It actually hurt... like my heart had been grabbed and suddenly let go
sounds very painful and scary :(
and I am sorry you are in such awful pain. I know how that is and it sucks BIG time.
but, with this nasty flu, i spoke to a man today who said that is a sign of sleep apnea ... and would affect me during a chest infection.
that sounds very reasonable. It might pay off to have yourself checked for sleep apnea. You can ask crossy, if you have it, it eats up most of your energy and it can actually be dangerous.
you keep on dreaming your dreams, and if you trust my interpretations, let me know about them... I will check back with you.
i will ask crossy
I will write up the dream, and send it to you. Would very much like to hear what you think of it. And please take your time, ok?
ok sprite :) have to go look at what dinner these children will have... bbs! **hugs**
bye dear :) *hugs* And I am off too, writing down the dream. Bye all, have a grand day/night. Bye Glantarell!

another small grid for a weekend... must start requesting biggies!!
good morning..evening..and inbetween all
hello again
hi ruby
86 this AM but I was hoping for a big Sunday grid!
i love this size..just nice..and then can get out and enjoy the day...
omg, I just guessed at the 8!
is there an 8..i litterally just woke up and rolled over
I think NB is responsible for the 8 Ruby. : D
want a clue?
I thought it has an er ending
i dont no... too early for clues... my brain wont figure it out
Nothing is what we think it is in Babble. It's like The Hotel California.
hahah. My life is like the Hotel California!
the eagles?
you check in but can't check out....
Well Ruby! We don't want you checking out.
loves molly
we just had the worst lunch in a local restaurant, absolutely inedible but with a great view!
you girls are making me giggle!!
worst lunch?? did you pay for it??
of course, but I let them know. We eat there every Sunday
I'll be lucky if it doesn't make me sick!
one of our regular restaurants, awesome food!! we get a free port or coffee at the end usually... they treat us like royalty! We have been going there 10 years
oh poor ruby!!
they treat us really well, always get our favorite table, know our drinks order, but I tried a different dish this time
oh dear ruby that bad???? we dont have a restaurant here that is that good...i just cook..the food is better
I am too tired to cook all the time, so we usually eat lunch out. But there are no good restaurants unless you are willing to pay a fortune!
i luv that our local knows our order... brings the drinks and entrees as usual... but always respectfully ask.
oh looky there..our summertime pest which will likely be decending upon us soon as schools let out is in the grid today
our restaurants here give us variety.... expensive to inexpensive... is a blessing
it seems to be the restaurant culture here
I'm looking for a summertime pest.....
I don't see lice in the grid??
here italian is pizza hut and mexican is taco bell and the rest is a diner
( babble pest )
I don't see mice, tsetse, wasp, fly or anything
as in 3 billy goats gruff enemy
in NY you could get great food at diners
ah! got that one
here u get a frozen burger pattie grilled to cardboard
i JUST got here mrp...
don't know 3 billy goats....hmm
so much for a college education hahah
we have code yellow and code red for these in babble ruby
aaah, I had that. As usual, I was being too literal-minder
minded*
i'll shut up then..my brain not working yet...
didn't know about the codes; that's very funny
oh ruby!! I don't believe that!! the cuisine must be much more lively than that???
this is a bad region for food, everything has cheese and is bland
my phantom today: tequila
even our local Italian makes a poor try at French food
and there is a phantom Mexican beer brand
here we have a strip where there is , wendys, mickey dee, arby, wing city, burger king, tim hortons, kfc and taco bell... can eat out in a different place every day of the week lol
sounds good to me, ivesy!
ivesy, that is sad, sorry hunny!!
that is like us ivesy
oh me too... love the wendy sea salt fries. oh yea and subway, but that is too healthy lol
there is n't even a McD close enough
I've gotten so that KFC is the only fast food I can tolerate. And since I don't eat fried food much, that is a once or twice a year treat.
I would love McD!
mc donalds, panda garden ( chinese..bad chinese) pizza hut, taco bell, arbys, wendys, tim hortons, burger king, kfc, swiss chalet
did you ever try blackberry jam on KFC chicken?
tis a wondrous thing!
Don't think I'd like that Ruby. Maybe on the biscuits.
angus burger at mcd... when they first opened , was a mistake on sign, said "anus burger
i liked the wrapster from kfc..but i had too many....( my old work was right across the road so it was the "go to" )
raofl
try it on a little piece; it sounds icky but it's delish
oh yes, forgot, pizza hut is there too!
we have sushi & cooked japanese, indian, italian, lebanese, iranian, muffin break, gloria jeans, korean, mexican (hot potatoes), salad counters and specialist cafes
we had a "rouach coach" across from our old office, empanadas with mystery meat. Even the Spanish girls wouldn't eat there, but I did
roach*
ivesy are we int he same town????
I'm moving to OZ, mrp!
just found a great chinese place here.. very good and very reasonable.. love the lo mien noodles
we also have in one little corner, KFC, McDonalds and El Portos... however we avoid those unless once a month
lol, car, sounds like it
Ivesy, we have a mall where there is a Krispy Kreme, a pizza place, a cheeseburger place, a chinese place and a Hagen Daz place. It's overkill.
I miss sushi, chinese, American steaks, Cracker Barrel and Denny's breakfasts
omg.. krispy creme.. we have to go to buffalo for those
oh..i forgot the zellers cafeteria ... it was jsut yellow carded by health unit
Cracker Barrel breakfast is pretty good. Too bad the closest one is a half hour away.
gee, forgot dennys and bob evans. they are there too... a diabetic nitemare that strip is lol
cracker barrel..hahahaha...i had the funniest experience in tennesse in a cracker barrel
tell us
It's the kind of Krispy Kreme where you can watch them make the doughnuts. Kids love it.
I used to love cracker barrel when I was on biz trips
being in canada..the southern accent is only heard in movies and tv... so..we are on our way down to scarlets for christmas 3 years ago...and we stop in tennesse at a cracker barrel for lunch...
Bob Evans and Cracker Barrel are the only places I will go out for breakfast. Otherwise, I stay home and make it myself.
i love the glazed one.. its rite by a barnes and noble so its heaven
my son... being the teenaged heart throb he is <rolling eyes> catches eye of a cute waitress...
so what happened, carlee
she comes up... " how ya'll doin' tooday? tooday's spesial is... ( blahblha) what cant i git for y'all to start?"
taylor looked at me and said " what planet did we just land on?"
hahah
cute
then i got " WHAT the HELL is WHITE Gravy?"
WHAT is SWEET TEA?
<-- loves white gravy, especially on chicken-fried steak
hi all, help with top E next to the T for nbt pls
loves sweet tea
then he closed his menu and told me to order for him...
he got used to "charm" by the time we got home..but oh my god....his first taste of culture shock..was hillarious
breakfast is my favorite meal
ec5.12 brilliance, acclaim
now i want to go across the border for cracker barrel....sheesh...my passport expired and am in process of changing name..i cant go across
ty lyn
what on earth is chicken fried steak? Hello all
all of which you havre, lynxx!
ok..am hungry..gone to make a western omelette...with smoked turkey in lieu of ham
breaded mystery meat served with white gravy, grits and fried eggs
Come on over Ruby. I'll make you some sausage biscuits and fried eggs with salty butter.
( imagine the coating for kfc..on a steak..and deep fried lynxx )
really - yuck!!!!
it's wonderful
one thing about the drive thru though, never get the order rite.. now we wait and check bfor we leave.. to the tune of honking horns
just told my husband - he shuddered
everything is deep fried in the south..uhave to remember..is traditionally hot...meat spoils..deep frying is fast... and doesnt heat up a room cus is done so quick
So, having heard Southern accents on TV and in movies, y'all were still shocked by the way this waitress talked?
i wasnt...he just thought in movies etc..they "over did it"
I like all the wrong foods; anything white and creamy or eggy suits me fine
he assumed was a spoof..and that the accent was never actually that strong
or fried
my husband tells me that he once had a blind date with a girl from Alabama and he never even understood her name!
hehehe..that funny...
i came back after 1 week with "charm"
i pick up accents sooo fast
sure it wasn't one of the Blind Boys of Alabama?
it would take me more than a week!
drives me nuts... people think i am making fun....but am not...i just do it...
I'm now imagining this waitress with the McKenzie brothers as her customers. It's like a skit on Saturday Night Live.
I now speak Fr with the local (Haute Savoie) accent, which is terrible
as a kid going to FLA during school breaks..i would come home talking floridian
yesterday they make that gloppy Quebecois dish on Fr TV
took me a coupl emonths to finally not drop a southern drawl on the odd word here and there by accident
poutine
the one with cheese curds....I've never had it but would probably like it
yes, that's it
i like my fries extra crispy...and poutine makes them soggy... so its not a fav of mine
"Gloppy dish" is a good description of that Ruby.
but oncein a while i like gravy for dipping my fries into
that's how they pronounce the Russian ex-president's name; pronounced the way it's spelled, it means prostitute
ok..making food..am starving....
today is our first hot day, what a pleasure!
{{carlee}}

When ex-speaker Tom deLay's child was born, what do you think the birth announcements said?
There has been a little Delay.

yawk yawk.
hello my dear babble friends. just here for about ten minutes, and then it's off to church. how are we all?

What did Dorothy cry when she needed quick cash in Oz?
ATM! ATM!
ATM! ATM!
SNAP!
Have you been on Perspicuity.com?
that was funny!
in grid news, we have a rather naughty phantom today - and on a sunday too! (think monica lewinsky.....)
I know- I tried it. But I blew it.
LOLOLOLOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
that was REALLY good, kaplan!
blowjob is not in the grid
classy, carlee! no, but the latin term for same is a phantom
When I did my internship I had a button with Monica's picture that I gave to all the interns- it said "Being an intern sucks."
just saw the phantom...rofl
Gives that old sailor song new life: "Blow the man down."
Kaplan, you are making my stomach ache from laughing
when I was in New Orleans a few years ago, they had a hot sauce called "Monica's down on your knees hot sauce" ....had her photo on it and all. Brought a big bottle home for my bil and he rolled
(passes immodium)
*takes it and say thanks*
does that stuff work?
Hmm wonders about PB violations in terms of the fe8
No one actually SAID anything, did we?
its too early for classy...

Thanks Trif, but I say hi myself every morning.
Yo, God.
bye, and poof!
BBL. Have to do a few things before off to gym.

hmmm...an interesting post just came across my fb...its a very intrigueing question
When it comes to separating faith and sport, is a tattoo of a cross any less a religious symbol than a headscarf?
( i would think in contact sport...an issue..but in non contact sport....)
It would be more religious in my opinion
*Wonders why faith and sport should be seperate*
Or separate
there is an issue in women's weight lifting...a muslim woman will not wear the weightlifter's "uniform" she is covered... not in a galabeya..just...covered..long yoga pants..and long sleeve tight fitting top with a very tight fitting head scarf... the international competitions say she cannot compete unless she wears the uniform
yet... many weight lifters do have tattoos... of crosses etc.... how is that a different expression when her outift does not interfere with the sport itself
( that is the background )
footballers are allowed to cross themselves...nfl'ers drop down in a small prayer after a touchdown...
I'd have to know the reason for why the uniform rule is enforced.
just an interesting..question...
surely that is not a religious issue though...just that the competitor is required to wear an 'approved' outfit.
back to my coffee
and the grid
I agree Lynxx. It's mixing apples and orange.
Or oranges.
like cricketers and tennis players used to have to wear white
we have this debate in canada all the time... when sihqs ( spell?) joined the RCMP....wanted to wear the headscarf...instead of police cap...
and wear the traditional small knife at hip... our govt let them...
sikh
lol, better than a gun!
well..have the gun too
It is interesting to consider all the occupations where people wear their religious headwear - yamulkah etc. Must be hard for employers sometimes to make the decision
I think people sometimes have to make a choice between what their religion dictates and what their "wants" dictate. There are reasons RCMP have required headgear.
I think nowadays most employers would defer to the religious requirements
quoll - quoll - quoll - very cute Australian marsupial - wish Enable would recognise it
A little off topic, but same vein. San Francisco will [if there isn't a legal challenge] have on the ballot outlawing circumcision on boys under the age of 18. This is religious or otherwise.
hi everyone
wow
Bich, that is crazy. Circumcision is a personal choice. The government has no business getting involved in that.
This is male circumcison we are talking about and I agree Molly. But, what if someone circumcises a girl. that is mutilation.
I don't disagree with circumcism - but a lot happens soon after birth so not a personal choice in the majority of cases
in us..govt feels it has the right to get involved in personal choice..ie..abortion
Wait, wait...are female infants getting circumcised in California?
good point Carlee - sad
No, what I meant was, most male circumcision is done for religious or cultural beliefs. It is not harmful to the boy. However, female circumcision is not done in the best interest of the girl, but for the personal feelings of the adults. There has to be a law defining the two. San Francisco entertains lots of weirdos. I think they passed a law that junk food can't be sold in vending machines.
I respectfully disagree that most male circumcision is done for religious beliefs. I think it is the "norm" regardless of religious belief.
There's just too much ambiguity in these issues. Certainly for abortion.
i was of the belief that a son should look like father....
if the father is...so should the son... so we dont grow up thinking ( early) "why do i look diff from dad...?"
Actually, when my son was born in 1973, most boys in the US were being circumcised routinely, cleanliness issues. Now, I think that the percentage is much lower.
Our rate has dropped from 60-70% in the 50s and 60s to just over 10% now !
I agree Carlee. My son is, but their son [my grandson] is not. I've told my son his job is to retract and clean the foreskin and teach Nick how to when he is a bit older. He turned green and other colors.
I agree Carlee. Or different from all the other little boys. I did a lot of daycare when my kids were small and I have never seen an uncircumcised male. Child or otherwise.
i have....not to my personal taste
please Carlee - not just when I am taking a mouthful of tea!
I'm hoping the legal challenge to the proposed ballot is successful.
it was a little boy who was born within days of my son...and is still best buds with him...i ised to change his diapers lynxxx....
i realised after i typed..what i said..was not intended
( it is afterall still morning and i am on coffee #1 still )
lol
I'll offer a boy's point of view - circumcision can reduce a lot of sensitivity in the tip.
i have heard that silver..but i have also heard of issues whereas the foreskin does not grow properly to accomadate the natural girth...and thus leads to surgery later in years...
True, silver. but my hubby had to be circumcised when he was about 5 or 6 because of an overly tight foreskin. Not good. And, AFAIK, Jewish men don't have a problem with sex
Well, enough of this fascinating subject. Breakfast time
ugh...i russian jew i dated in university... he was born in a city that at the time the soviet union would just export out whole villages to get rid of the jews... anyway....came to canada at the age of 13..and got circumsized then
there's positives and negatives to either option, I think. It's much less common here in Europe, though.
first al 5/10 plz
a, double cons., double vowel
ty annie
youre welcome
damn..rolo not allowed
Actually not that common in Europe - most common in Central and Northern Africa and Middle East
muslims and jews must be circumcized... sooooooo
sorry, misread Silver (than instead of in) and assumed he was in the US

toodles
we're silly! and you're sorting Legos! That's an infinite task if I ever heard of one ... that will take until the end of timme ...
Sorting Legos?????
Hi, back for some more. Done my power walk with the fluffies
Good Morning, Everybody. Just got NBT and have 10-15 minutes to play and chat. How does one sort Legos, I wonder? *I'm* the grown-up; the kids were to do that when they were young
I'm assuming a small child with an inordinate fondness for small bricks ...
Oh there were tons of Legos around my house when my kids were small. We never sorted them though. They just lived in one big tub.
The legos were separated from the Duplos and other small toys with many parts; they were the only things that would fit in their case; so they were kept separate. But then again; it wasn't my job. If the kids didn't do it; they lost the toys
We sorted legos by type -- squares, rectangles, single-height, double-height. OR by the kit they belonged to!
hey all
I grew up before legos. I had Tinker Toys
and Lincoln Logs
hi stid! That sonds like work!
Tinker Toys- wood ones.
Same here, Bichon. But we made sure our kids had those too.
we had tinker toys, too -- and lincoln logs --
I am missing a stubborn cl4. Is there a weird one?
Now the Grands play with Legos
which cl?
The one I can't find, silly.
hi! does anyone have the ar 5/10?
I have three cl 4/6 x 2 and cl 4/7

hi pinikula
hi glantarell :)
oh hallo pini! wandered off for a minute
hi LA
think i will list with 49 left
down to 18 but listed a while ago
anyone interesting in offering opinions regarding floor coverings?
* interested
i have wood, laminate, engineered wood and carpets
and ceramic tiles
and Karndean vinyl flooring
wow ... the whole list!
do you like any over others?
all have their benefits and drawbacks
i wouldn;t have the engineered wood again
it shrank too much when the heating was on over the winter and we have gaps - but that may have been down to the way my husband laid it :-0
* making notes *
I love the solid oak floor in the dining room - I handwash it every couple of months, and vaccuum in between then re-oil once every couple of years
I love the ceramic tiles, they are hardwearing and easy to clean and if you put underfloor heating under them when you lay them they are lovely and warm underfoot in winter but don;t drop anything breakable on them LOL
a's annihilated
the Karndean flooring was laid onto a screed in my kitchen 8 years ago, has been easy to clean and very low maintenance and looks like new
haven't heard of the Karndean...will have to google that one...
wtg LA :)
I like my carpets too, but I have gone for high quality 80% wool carpets
Karndean is a brand name - it comes in tioles or rolls and they put fancy patterns in it when they lay it if you want to - there must be a US version
*tiles
It is glued to your floor
It wasn't cheap but I'd buy it again for my next house
If you've not heard yet, I had a washer hose break in the garage and the spray made it into the kitchen/ dining room ... result ... kitchen, dining room, hallway, and living room floors get new floor coverings...
trying to figure out what I want
oh yikes.
oh no, what a pain
well, the Karndean survived a flood from the toilet (room above) and was under about half an inch of water for several hours a couple of years ago - no sign of any damage
noswaith dda, glanta
Cork flooring feels good underfoot; the older I get, the less comfortable tile and stone floors are. We put cork in our kitchen, and it is lovely and also ecologically sustainable.
it happened this past tuesday; the kitchen floor was removed down to the subfloor and the dining room carpet's also been taken out, but had wood ply (not particle board) underneath that is ok
and hello everybody else
hi ruby - bon soir
hi ruby and jan ;)
Cork is fabulous as long as it is well sealed - but not widely available here
Hi Jan
Hi pini and glantarell! And everyone else too.
since the kitchen and dining room are in the same 'area'...I was thinking about making that portion continuous
Yes, sealing cork is a must. Also, don't wear stiletto heels on it or you'll put little dents in it!
...not sure what to do with the hallway and living room...wood or carpet?
(have always wanted wood)
Linoleum has had a big revival over here in designer cicles - also sustainable
...but am interested in opinions ;)
Have you thought about bamboo floating floor? Easy to install, environmentally sustainable, and looks as good as wood.
I've heard of bamboo, too...haven't come across it when googling the floor company they gave me
will check again though...I've heard good things about it
I wouldn't recommend laminate wood-lool flooring, though. A good friend installed it in a kitchen, thinking it would be easy care. It is, but it sounds plasticky underfoot and looks a bit fake. She regrets it.
that's my one thought about laminate, too...trailer park v. mansion, right? :)
Regarding bamboo--some varieties are a lot harder than others. Cheaper varieties can get damaged from dropping stuff on them. Ask about the hardness factor of any you look into.
i did have laminate wood effect in that leaky toilet - the edges all lifted in the water
not good, glanta
If you decide to go with some kind of tiling in the kitchen, there are some really inexpensive porcelain tiles that look a lot like natural stone. We just put some in a bathroom remodel and it looks great, at a cost of under a dollar a square foot compared with 6-10 dollars a square foot for stone tiling.
I'm guessing what I'll have to choose from will be based on the allowance the insurance company gives me.
can you ask if you can top up the allowance if there's something you really would ike
I can, Glanta...I'd just have to pay the difference. Unfortunately, until they 'test' the carpet and vinyl I currently have, I don't know what the allowance is...
That might be a reason to pick something different in the kitchen and dining room. You could splurge on a more expensive wood floor in the dining room and go with porcelain stone-look tile in the kitchen and reduce your total per square foot price to a point that the insurance company will pay.
I'm not sure how to make the transition again...the kitchen/dining room is separated by the working island ... kind of a like 2-room 'great room'
anybody give me a hint for the te7s?
(I never did care for the previous transition between the carpet and vinyl...it was curved somewhat oddly)
(I have too many to find to be giving hints, but will enjoying receiving any offered!)
one te7 is an english beverage + hard****
hi origami
good morning babblers
The other sounds like the 7 letter word for "pertaining to touch" but with a different initial vowel.
* thinking on the hard---- * there are a few endings.... hmmmm
Still missing the third 7 letter word, though.
pa7
oh, my - the 3rd 7 is rude - fe -
The ending for silver, hard, sports...
got the 'hard' one! :)
(Actually, the third example is a soundalike...)
me too - just
That rude fe word is an 8
Reading back on the kitchen remodeling talk. That ceramic tile floor with heat wiring underneath it must be expensive. It sounds nice though.
Sounds nice though!
Actually, it really isn't, as long as you are installing new flooring anyway.
Oh, wait...that's what you said...well, I agree :)
*fireworks*
huzzah glan!
wtg glanta!
and the underfloor heated ceramic is fine to lay and run
off for dinner now - happy babbling - and good luck with the floor Pini
thx!!!! :)
Congrats, glantarell!
* going to open some browser tabs and find some info links ... back momentarily *
I just checked our master contract fo rthe bath remodel--the heated part of the heated floor added 300 dollars to the total cost of the project. But that includes the full bathroom area and an adjacent walkin closet and dressing room area. So not too bad, though not as inexpensive as I was remembering.
Made it to 29 listlessly, but I doubt I'll finish that way! And now, off to do some housework and work-work...
*tiptoes in to ask for a hint for the center O*
*Quietly tells Eva it's Spanish hello*
TY molly
Is that under floor heating something I should consider in the kitchen/dining?
I'm on cement slab so I would put it in my kitchen if I could wrangle the dollars.
I have a wood subfloor and pondering
the home I visited in Denmark had the entire house as a heated floor... it was the main heat - nice!
<---- Needs a Sugar Daddy
theirs was wood too, pini
<--- Needs Molly's Sugar Daddy's Sugar Brother! LOL
Hi kje! ... probably worth it to throw it under ... might save on the heating bill (that is currently ceiling heat)
This would be nice to hear..."You want to do some remodeling honey? Go right ahead, no worries about the cost."
stats for the E?
hi all!
* mumbles * whoever thought ceiling heat was practical...I mean, really, heat rises!!! how do you heat below if it goes up??
ec 5/12
* swoon * molly...wouldn't it!!!
hi dan2
ty molly - got it
(hold that thought - need to find my cell phone)
*Wonders if Pini is calling 1-800-SUGARDADDIES
gosh molly your icon looks like a cover to the watchtower or something
hints for a 7? and dumb it down for me today, im sleepy. ;)
ROFL - if there were only a number that was legit!!!!
pa7 - loosed convict
Te* for two + hard**** store
He just got out of jail Eva. Dumb enough?

There's only one pa7

te 7 --- what you have for a T party
Afternoon, Babblephiles!
Other te7 is the age of ***hnology + my pants have gotten too **** (alt spelling)
brb - again
I thought Sara Palin comes to teaparties/
not lately. its all michele bachmann now.
oh
*Wishes the Republicans could offer up a stable female candidate*
*shocked look*
Is Michele Bachman unstable??
*ooh boy*
do bears... in the woods?
LOL, ruru. I guess I should do some research on the candidates.
The far-far right likes whacko candidate..
candidates.
Mitt Romney is starting to look normal
No kidding Ru and I never thought I would agree with that statement.
I think Ross Perot still holds the title of "most wacko repub. candidate ever." As opposed to Al Sharpton on the other wing.
Just once, could we get a serious middle of the road candidate? Not to far left or right? I think I would drink that KoolAid.
wow..I'd have to think about that.. but he is certainly a hall of famer
Or too far
Al Sharpton is a total whacko
palin is more wacko than perot
Al Sharpton is an alien. And a racist hypocrite alien at that.
you betcha
at least perot had some legit business stats
and was half way intelliget, if out there
I'll never forget his chalkboard ads
He has a lovely home in Bermuda.
<---does a pretty good Ross Perot impersonation
didn't he pass away?
Lol. We have him to thank for "giant sucking sound".
well... kje.. he was from texas...
lol judi
I forgot about that
i hear our current guv wants to run... he is almost as scary as bachman
ross perot isn't dead.
And how he always called Don Imus "Larry", as if he was talking to Larry King. *snort*
scary news: bachmann is tied for first place in the Iowa poll released today
I always attributed the giant sucking sound to MOnica Lewinski?
Kje...Perry?
she will peak early then be gone
Enough about politics! Let's talk about sex. Or food.
Fe8! Fe8!
yep, molly - nutso seccessionist perry
not in the iowa caucuses :) they love their right wingers. huckabee won there in 08
anyway... clue for the last do 5/12 please
period + mr sharpton
Awesome! Thanks for the clue, Molly! How did I not see that?

Speaking of food... time for a (diet) snack. Walnuts. *sigh*
aint that the truth

<---Is now thinking about the Dick Van Dyke Shoe episode about walnuts
Unsalted. No sugar. Omega fats. Crunchy. Satisfying.
*POOF*
She had me until "satisfying".
I am highly allergic to walnuts

Picking away at this thing while waiting for pizza dough to rise.
i just finished baking 2 dozen banana cupcakes with cream cheese and maple frosting....and a mini banana cake ( using up frozen bananas )
I'm going to carlee's
We are not big banana lovers here. I use frozen bananas for smoothies.
no idea what dinenr will be yet... but dessert is yummy
see...usually smoothies involve bananas...and strawberries..and i cant do strawberries... soooooo
Salmon for dinner here. All in the effort to eat more fish.
did that 2ce this week ...
Can you do any berries?
yes..jsut not strawberries...
but i hate raspberry seeds... ( when i make jam,,, i use a seive and remove all the seeds first )
***lurking fireworks***
yay jilli!!
Frozen bananas, frozen berries (both defrosted), orange juice and a little bit of milk or vanilla ice cream.
I need another Q - anything unusual jill?
last words mean "a thread made by North American Indians from the divided roots of certain conifers and used in weaving and sewing."
hi wild -- do you have the French 4?
yes
hello all
hi jilli, hi all
there are a couple of qu5 words which usually have something in front of them...
found the fe8, uh
Definitions like that leave me feeling extremely dumb.
and another qu5 which would sound like a bird
menat uh oh
how many qu5?
meant even, can't type
5 qu5
When words like fe8 are in the grid, I feel NB waving and laughing. : )
well I have all those then. guess it's a 4
molly definitions like that make me cross -- as if we're all supposed to know such an obscure word?
I am chuckling here, I do miss that boy
I am sure is is dooing just that
only one qu6?
2 qu6
ahhhh ty
Agreed Jilli, like we all have an "inner Rainman".
who's on first?
i really miss nb's pressence here...
<sigh>
My that young man make such an impression on us all, didn't he? What a loss.
Carlee -- what is our icon about? Certainly not a puppy...
*your icon, not our
hehehe...its a joke with car.ee and I
everyone already confuses us...so now we have the parent trap pic up for our icons
I see (I think), lol!
well clearly one of you needs to cut your hair so we can tell you apart
clearly...we do...
it just gets funny to us as everyone always confuses our comments when we both on already....so...we thought we would take it to the next level..silly..dorky...but we both find it funny :)
The funny thing is, y'all look nothing alike.
Hi to my fellow babblers! How is everyone doing today
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
Hi Min
Ooo, Love Chris O'Donnell.
i know we dont....but the name...carlee car.ee people confuse us all the time here... soooo
anyway..that why
So to make it more confusing, you now both have the same icon. Hmm.

Hi you all. Congrats Minveryork!!!
Hi Gran Mere.
Hi Molly. Nice day here with temperatures in mid 60s and sunshine.
Sounds lovely. Glad you're enjoying the weather.
Yes, outside watering a few plants in the fresh air this morning.
That is one of my favorite places to be.
So I'm back- what's the deal with this fe8?
There is one (or four) in every crowd Kap.
hhmmm.... 110 in the shade here ...feels like a blast furnace when you step outside!
too cryptic
You seriously don't have it? I thought with all the talk this morning you did.
I have been skirting around this word all day...
It's a Freudian thing then. Has to do with sex, different last two letters.
I know it has something to do with it, but can't figure the format...
I got it.
duh.
kap... if you have fe 5/16 ( slang for guy ).... just add a Xword term for craggy mountain top
we NEVER got into the PB for that...
I am all set.
Diane, cute little wee one in your icon.
glad you got it !
ro6?
thanks Molly... she's a sweetie for sure! There's a few more in my Flikr photos, and I'm going to add one of her and the "protective beagle" at the grandparent's home !!
spin a bit Kap
this is our first great grandchild, Molly :-)
ty
yw
She has a pretty name too, Diane.
I remember you being excited about becoming a Great Gram.
I was so glad they didn't pick some weird name... unspellable... LOL and my Mom's name was Elaine, so I'm pleased they chose that as the second name.
I have 8 left- probably missed all the clues tho...
might have to bail with 8 to go...
and I'm OUT! GN all!
hi, all! I am back home!
had a nice visit with my dad.
hi Sue. How is he? getting around a bit?
He's doing great, lynxxx! He's walking just fine now, doesn't need a cane or anything. He picked me up at the airport and is talking about driving out to see me later this summer (which I intend to discourage, it's almost 1000 miles). So he is back to his feisty old self. Good to see.
That's great isn't it.
Wonderful.
Hi Sue. Glad you had a nice visit with your Dad. Could he take the train to see you?
not in any way that is even vaguely convenient, and I don't think he would want to anyway (very independent, he is)
I'll go out to see him again later in the summer, maybe with my son. That should keep him happy.
Does he not like to fly?
Not really. He likes to be in charge.
by which I mean that he likes to decide when and where he goes, when he starts, when he stops, which route he takes, how long he pauses at interesting things along the way...that sort of thing.
nice thing that is to be in charge of one's self
indeed, onyx, but he's 90 and I think a three or four day drive is maybe not the best idea (not that I can stop him if he gets it in his head that that's what he's going to do!)
We had a lo6.27 tree once - my last word. Bye everyone. Bye Sue, so pleased to hear your Dad is so well
bye and thx, lynxxx!
howdy again everyone:)
hi, crossy!
nbt and more than half way but no 7-letter words yet (do have the 8 thanks to the chog)
Yes, we had a little fun with that one today.
I noticed that :-)
ok, got a 7-letter word. now nbs as well.
and I am going to go collapse, stress is getting to me again
hi all
still missing the top E for nbt
got it
hi again. Anyone around?
Hi Harry, Hi Nef.
hi Nef.... just finished doing dishes... going to try to finish this up so I can get to my book ;-)
hi Molly and Harry
Hi Harry.... Hi again, Molly :-)
and diane
Hi Diane, what are you reading?
Hi all. I am just starting the grid tonight.
Well, actually 31 words ago.
Hi Wht
Tuesdays With Morrie.... somehow missed it years ago, when I read Five People You Meet In Heaven
oh dear just got the 8
Mitch Albom.... beautifully written book with so many bits of wisdom in it for us all.
Hi Wht
That was a great book, diane
I just finished one written by a fellow with Asperger's Syndrom ( he wasn't diagnosed until his late 30's ) We have a granddaughter with Aspergers, so it was very interesting
( syndrome ) and there's a follow up book which I'll read next.
I like Mitch Ablom.
that sounds interesting, diane. What's the name of the one you just read?
Look Me In The Eye.... John Elder Robison
This fellow struggled all his life but adapted to cope and survive... These people often have savant qualities, and in his case, he was an electronics wizard.... self taught. He designed the exploding guitars that the band KISS used.... also did stage effects that nobody had seen before !!!
There was a program about savants on Discovery Channel not too long ago. He was one of the people that they were interviewing! I will read that book soon!
It was especially interesting because of our Allison,... she is now 25, but did get a diagnosis finally at age 15. I call her my walking encyclopedia... she NEVER forgets a thing that she has read or seen, but she cannot solve the unknown... math was hard for her in school, but she excelled in history, geography and language arts.
Dayo is so a word. Just ask Harry Belafonte.
Daylight come and me want to go home.
Unfortunately, some of these people fall between the cracks in our education system. She is not high enough IQ for any post secondary schools, but too smart to qualify for other training.... e.g. if she was Down syndrome, she'd be educated to the hilt for nothing...
morning all :))
eesay day, eesay day, eesay day ay ay OOOOO
**hugs** to all
Hello Mr P.
hi mr pres.
hi mrp. How are you doing?
I agree Wht. Hey Mr. Tally Man, Tally me banana.
does anyone use the Babble Expert site ? I tried to open it yesterday and it wouldn't load. :-(
I'm on a Mac and Expert won't work for me
Hey Mr Babble Man, tally me dayo.
Expert worked for me yesterday and today.
okay.... I just thought it was a neat site when in a hurry, as it put the words in order without refreshing Lickety's list, or guessing the order
Must be my approach to it then.... it is a zipped file but I've never had any problem with it.
Hey all, happy long lazy summer days!
hi stid :-)) ... the lazy, hazy crazy days of summer ???
Yep, those too!
sorry, phone
the days of soda, and pretzels and beer ?? lol
Oh Diane, you are channeling my Mom now. : )
Hi all! How is everyone one this fine evening?
And barbecue, and potato salad, and running through the sprinkler on the lawn
that's okay... I'm probably old enough to BE your mom ;-)
Jen! (hugs)
Nat King Cole :-)
** stid! **
Diane is that the newest decoder in your icon? A sweet little thing!
Hi stid

the windward side, but double the consonant
Hey again snags!
hi stid............ how is it going with the puzzle??
ty, always forget to double the consonant
Peri, I had to monkey around a while for that one myself.
Not bad, about to whine for the computer though, I can't scroll down to see what words I have already!
ty wht
oh oh............
How about you, snags?
The thing that has been giving me the biggest problem is that the F keeps dissappearing into the sea of e's
down to the last 12.............
<--- Has The Banana Boat song stuck in her head
Babble Blindness strikes deep.
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you just cannot see
The words staring out, right at you.
So it's time we stop, Babblers what's that sound everybody look what's going down
Buffalo Springfield For What It's worth :-)

I am in morewords.com and just discovered clicking on a word takes u too the dictionary............. duh
LOL snags! yep. That is a nice feature.
talk about feeling rather addle brained............ geez
it's a funny thing, sometimes things just are not as obvious as it appears
i am babbling to my self........ like blowing out ones lips and hitting your finger against the vibration........
and, my eyes are crossed..........
guess what...... another revelation..... I didn't know nor ever heard of one of the fe words and at my age..........
my education is sadly lacking.
I'm done babbling..............
:)
Not at all :-)
there are MANY words that I had never heard and wish were not included... *sigh* oh well *shrug* at least now I know some words that are NOT okay even in modern slang -- those middle school kids will have a harder time tricking me! LOL

My niece is doing just that right now.... starts U full time this summer. She has a degree in social work and in early childhood education... has run a day home while her girls were growing up, and now going back to school at age 45 !!
My niece is doing just that right now.... starts U full time this summer. She has a degree in social work and in early childhood education... has run a day home while her girls were growing up, and now going back to school at age 45 !!
Variation of a potato name
sorry for the double post... how did that happen ??
Potato nickname
I hope she will do well diane -- I did NOT enjoy the experience, the program I chose was a less than optimal match for me. However, I will really enjoy teaching, and that goal kept me moving.
That's a 5/10 but it's what comes after the small pie
she wants to teach Jr. High.... she's going to university in Vancouver.... has a bit of a commute each day.
ty Molly. Helps if I start from the correct t.
going back to school at midlife as I did has advantages, though -- one of them being realistic. I made it through without pulling "all nighters" unlike the younger students
me too -- middle school (6-8th or 9th grades) is a passion for me. The kids are really challenging, and I like a challenge -- but they are also generally ready to be challenged.
hi everyone! i am back on with a new laptop!
I have about 5 minutes, then need to get the mole into the oven.
Hey Jen!
my eldest daughter, ( now 50 and the new grandma) got her science degree at age 40.
new laptop as in NEW or new as in you switched to a different one from your household?
NEW!! my first ever!
good for her!
woo-hoo Jen! *admiring new laptop*
Mature students usually do VERY well.... they've lived life a bit ! Youngest daughter is now working on her nursing degree.... she's an RN but would like the degree ( She's 39 and pulling in excellent marks )

I did a really great job on my kids....
I didn't have any...
smart, ruru!
and thanks for that stid.... we are very proud of 4 successful kids.
te 7/44 is not coffee plus wa 4/8 word wht and hello.
hi Minver :-)
diane, mothering is so many different careers all in one -- it's the reason I thought I even had a chance to be a teacher. Figured if I could survive all the kid stuff that I could do a day job of it! LOL
hey Min!
ty Min. Fireworks.
YAY wht!
A te 7/32 is same 1st 4 letters as previous word plus Shop R*** (a grocery store) wht.
Congratulations wht on your fireworks!Good for you.

Hi all! Just returned to do my story of clues for chog.

You said it so well, Stid.... and motherhood is a reward and a teaching tool in its own right !!
Ru, I'll eat rodent right after you, okay? : P
It might not be so bad if you put enough mole sauce on it.
The only mole I eat is guacamole. End of story.
lol
fireworks
good for you Shelley !

Hello kids.
Hi Scrabs
hi Scrabbler
This is my first look at the grid. I'll find some words and then go to bed.
Hi scrabbler cus!
We all know how that story goes, Scrabs.
Hi cousin!
hi again, all!
Next you will say, I will just find some more words, and then go to bed.
Hi Dr Sue
HI Scrabs, Hi Sue.
lady
Hello uusue2!How ar you doing? Welcome back to grid
Free clue!
There's one Scrabs.
and then. Oh, there are just a few more, and then I will go to bed.
hi, scrabs, molly, min, wht!
I am utterly exhausted after my hiking vacation but very happy. We had a great time in the southwest.
you posted some really beautiful pictures, scrabs!
Glad you had a good trip, Scrabs
I have over 270 pics to review and edit, then I'll post them. It's such a different world out there.
I'm sure it feels good to be home Scrabs. Glad to hear you had a good time. Bet the bunnies missed you.
she sent the bunnies some postcards.. they were fine
My body needs to recover. The hiking was rigorous.
Oh, yes, Ruru, we communicated by Twitter.
can you skype with rabbits?
I haven't taught them that yet.
Ruru, may I ask your Magic 8 Ball some questions?
I have finished the grid to5/16. I have zero words le 4/7. I have a to 5/10 of 1484 points so I will write a ta4/4 as I aw5/18 for people to ask for clues.Wasn't aw 5/18 of this game until a nice la 4/7 at my library told me about it. I absolutely ad 5/12 this game. I fe 4/7 in love with it right away. I fe4/7 like upgrading to pro status just after a few days so I did. Although it makes me fe 4/7 like a cl4/6 sometimes, I know my lo5/14 Babble friends will always help & let me re 4/5 the benefits of their clues.Love being a pa4/5 of the Babble group, even if an occasional tr5/10 shows up. I think I should te 4/4 my cousin about Babble. She is not awa4/8 of this game also.I think Babble would be a real tr5/10 for her.She would ado4/5 it too. Hubby who tries to pa 6/21 my Babble time, is wa4/8ing for the computer. Now I'm going to get on my fe4/7 and unlo4/5 the dishwasher. Then I am going to get rid of the od5/12 in kitchen by emptying the trash. Then I am going to go watch a pa 6/30 on TV. I will be back tomorrow at qu5/16 after three.Goodnight babblers!
LOL.... love the "hubby tries to pa6/21 my Babble time ".... cute !
night night Minver, and thanks for the story !
Great story Min.
I've only got 10 words left so the story made perfect sense to me :-))
Thanks guys! Good luck finishing grid if not done yet.
*POOF*
hey all -- (((scrabs)))
sweet dreams Min!
<--- Thinks Ruru's 8 Ball is fixed
Hi stid--congrats for finishing school!
all my balls are fixed..
thanks scrabs. congrats for surviving the desert! :-D
Does anyone need any clues before I call it a night?
oh ruru... *sigh
I developed heat exhaustion during the Grand Canyon hike--worst pa4 of the vacation.
thx for the story, min! (took me a minute to get the pa6/30)
nope... thanks anyway wht, and night night for now.
and hi, stid and ruru!
silly ruru
hi UU
Ha! I led you right into that one.
hey sue! (((hugs)))
sweet dreams diane!
hi, stid!
oh no scrabs! *grabs gatorade, ice pack and popsicles* are you better now???
Night all.
night, wht!
sweet dreams wht
Heat exhaustion will creep right up on you. Glad it wasn't too bad Scrabs.
there were charges involved molly
I slowly climbed up the trail, went to the cabin, filled my hydration pack with Gatorade, laid down, and drank 100 oz in an hr and felt better. I just wasn't drinking enough to make up for water losses with exertion in 90 degrees.
that is so easy to do, scrabs. of course, I rarely exert myself that much, but even so some days I get monster dehydration headaches this time of year
*molly doesn't take the bait*
It was scary to recognize what was happening--chills, goosebumps, nausea.
At 85/66 I have done enough and must get to bed.
<---Not taking bait about you fixing your balls with a charger
heat stroke scrabs
hi folks
night, scrabs!
and hi, welki!
Yeah, that sounds more like heat stroke than heat exhaustion
Hi Welki
also sounds like a hypoglycemic event
hey welks
firewords! tx min and all cluers - te7 compound word leaf drink + silver**** (forks, spoons, etc) was my last
yay, dan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was scary, for sure. Alright, good night all.
Way to go 2Bit!
glad you survived scrabs
G'night Scrabs.
scrabs is tough (and smart) :)
yes, scrabs, glad you are ok and were able to continue your hiking!
and fireworks here too !! Off to make a cup of tea and read my book...not much interested in what hubby's watching on TV.... See you all tomorrow and have fun tonight..... and Molly and ruru.... behave, okay ?? ;-)) and gone ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
yay, diane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
g'night diane
sweet dreams scrabs and diane!
and YAY dan!
"Behave" is such a "not fun" word. : /

I'm hungry! Waiting for James to get ready so we can go get a bite to eat...
We have not had dinner yet either. It is too hot
In the meantime, I'm spoiling my appetite with chips...

fireworks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hooray for sue!
Yay Sue !!!!
YAY SUE!!! CONGRATS
woo hoo uu
last word was wa6/33 which I made up out of whole cloth after using morewords to find the wa5/20
I need both of those
The last two wa's are gibberish.
Time to go...happy babbling!
Have fun Jellen
bye, jellen!
the wa5/20 reminds me of that commercial: "Wa5/20?" "Not much! Wa5/20 with you?"
ty got it ]
then add a vowel for the 6/33
Perfect- thank you
Ah, all Sunday chores are finished. Ironing...check...dinners prepped for the week...check...floors mopped...check...dishwasher humming...check. No I think I'll
curl up with a book.
nice, molly!
Have fun Molly
Molly, did you ever hear that Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest
Not for single Moms Nef. Happy Babbling to all, and to all a goodnight.
well, it wasn't true for nurses working in hospitals either, Molly. But I always tried to spread the work out over the week. :-)
ok my last word is pa6/21- any clues please? My monkeys are tired
I need the last one not the prison one
nm I found it
I end on a fish 2 days in a row
yay, dr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and hi, nef!
hi, uu. How are you tonight?
and bye - I am off to bed. See you all tomorrow!
not quite gone, nef :-)
and I am doing ok, just got back from a short visit with my dad.
Son is doing better I think.
Hmmm, sounds suspicious
Great news, uu! And son's EX is staying out of the picture too?
not by choice but yes, she is; he's requested an order of protection against her and it should be acted on tomorrow
and he's getting a lot of good feedback from his friends, and even from some mutual friends (acquaintances?) that she is really nuts and they'd be happy to testify to that
That's great! And I'm glad about your dad doing so well too
I so hope he gets his head on staight and starts finding normal girls!
(er, your son; not your dad)
my dissertation advisor, who was Hungarian, used to tell me that the difference between Hungarians and the French is that the French leave without saying goodbye, and the Hungarians say goodbye without leaving. I am apparently part Hungarian.
and I suppose my dad could find a normal girl too although I think he will be happy to be single for a while :-)
LOL!
nef, just reading your profile - sounds like you've been put through the wringer too!!!! I hope everything works out for you, your son and d-i-l, your hubby, and his aunt. That is a lot on your plate!!
I need to check if I've updated it lately. There are some bright spots in the mess
well, I'll look for an update tomorrow but now I REALLY AM GOING TO BED. REALLY. night, all!!! and glad for the bright spots!!!!
Okay. Good night uu!
if anyone is around, I need a few clues to complete the puzzle. qu4/7 qu4/8 are two of them
hi snags. I have qu + evens and **ds for the 4/8
Nef, thank u for that one. I swear I had monkeed around with it forever and put that one in.........
there are 2 qu 4/8's and the only difference is the vowel
