good morning
how are you dizgrannie?
Hi! Ruby, alls good here
are you intertested in the Tour? So many Australian riders!
not really, just watch the results on the news
hi all, insomnia brings me here, in-ƒ®üקñ-somnia.
nbs, but that lowest N has me stymied for NBT
melon, no = do4
*+
hello melonhead -- the Tour de France might be a good soporific. For people who don't like it, it is EXTREMELY dull and lulling
diz I have all no4s, none of them fill in the lower N
rubyfoo, don't you love the movie Breaking Away?
peso
PB4me!
yes, that is when I first heard of the Tour. But I adore the Tour and It's come through my village twice
it's OK, melon, I'll make you some warm milk
got it! NBT!
tx ruby!
Melon, no+do4, apparently its a sleeping pill ot the likes
I'm an avid urban cyclist. I bike for transporttion whenever i can.
no, it's a stay awake pill from when I was in college, but spelled with a z
actually it means having the quality of a no4
I did get it just before you explained.

please forgive me.
fortunately, all stupid little words
I'm 121 in, not seeing many biggies, just one each 7,8,9
de rien!
don't have any of those
the problem is that I'm rushing like crazy
back to bed for me. Dad in hopspital, and I need to be rested to drive there.
bonne nuit! {poof!}
I hope he is better when you get there! {{melon}}
morning all
Morning Sprite - and Ruby if you are still around
hi lyn :) xxx good evening to you.
{{lynxx}} {{sprite}}
don't look back in the chog, I put in a million little words by mistake before
a million? you HAVE improved!
not even on purpose? :P
I was trying to do toomany things at once (laundry, putting away groceries AND playing)
I'm really embarrassed
lol... bad bad rubyfoo!
pshaw - it's nothing Ruby
tail between my legs
no don't you dare, you like that too much :) Waggle!
:D
*grins*
I am trying to cook in the mornings so that I can watch the race without guilt
smart. And cooler too.
the weather has been perfect, sunny and very cool in the AM and sunny and breezy in the afternoons.
The figs are falling off, however
weather is pretty ok here too. I don't need the heat, I like the pleasant warmth though.
it's too cool, I think, for the figs which are marginal for this region anyway. The tree is lovely, though
when I had it planted, it was about my size; now it's massive and beautiful
which part of french are you, rubyfoo?
can you grow figs in Australia, lynxx?
they spread around here like weeds Ruby
we're 1 hr south of Geneva, 1 hr 15 NE of Lyon, 1 hr north of Grenoble
*takes lyn to the PB and pours her a nice drink*
black ones or green, lynxx
after my transgressions, pls give lynxx a free pass
see what you made me say Ruby!! you have to come with me
come on, after she managed to in!
peach jam and strong coffee?
I think they are the common black figs
135 words and still not nbt. I can't seem to find anything for the bottom c.....
mmm peach jam - not had that
mine are green, and not as good as the black ones
I make the peach jam from store-bought white ones when they get to be a little too ripe
try english bobbies
in 13 years, I've only had ripe ones 3 times and that's even after they fruit twice!
I see, a nice area I think. Not too far from holland.
wrong - try US police!
but also try english small woods co5.14 & 6
it's beautiful here, but you'd have to cross Belgium and/or Switzerland. I'll look at a map
no, the c in the corner, but thanks for the small woods, which I had missed
yeah I just looked at a map. Through Belgium and then down along the border.
long drive, unfortunately
co4 a secret way of writing co5/16 package of drivers etc.
but these distance would like nothing to lynxx; you could probably fit all of Europe into Australia!
I think if I ever will drive there, I will do it in 2 days. But indeed, for US or Australia, nothing here is long.
co7.40 & 8 are ideas
co & abbrev of the 12th month
forget the co4, btw, that comes from the upper one.
that's it, bingo, linxx
thank you for that
nice grid so far! 99 left without much st4ping.
I love this kind of grid as, even without finishing, there are lots of available words. 77 left (but less available)
I like almost all kinds of grids. They all have their own rewards and challenges.
uh oh, thumper is afoot (again!)
see you later
bye rubyfoo
except those itty bitty ones
bye Ruby
yeah the very tiny ones are never much fun, indeed, unless they are so tight you have to spend some time on them nevertheless.
BBL too - I need to stop sitting and straighten up my back
all the best, lyn :)
morning all...
morning FFG
do I get extra points cuz my name's in the grid?!
yes of course, but only half because you are not valid.
story of my life :-)
*grins*
Hello...
hi Jellen! *hugs*
How is sprite?
sprite just tried peecoc. :D
lol
am ok, Jellen, and you?
I'm okay...
well, I just tried "person" for the 43rd time. Must mean I should go to bed. G'night Jellen and sprite and all
G'night, freep...
night freep, some phantoms won't leave us in peace, I know.
(btw, I hear the 44th time's the charm!)
Could I have the stats for the N in the right column, please?
lol!
don't have it yet but will help looking for it
Thanks, sprite...
It's driving me slightly crazy...
I know the feeling. Some tiles just refuse to be grayed out.
My goal before bedtime is NBT...this is the lone holdout...
ah got it. no6/21 is it.
Okay, looking...
I can clue it if you want me to
Um, I think that would be good...
it is No + a helping of medicine
Thanks, sprite! Tried everything around that...
it is a kind of silly word!
freep's 'person' for me is 'cotton'. Cannot stop trying it!
My cat Toby is driving me insane tonight...he's into everything!
storm or snow approaching :)
I don't know, but he just got evicted from the bedroom...
aw poor kitty, lol.
It's my fault for having so many temptations...papers, figurines, Kleenex...
kleenex! No cat (or dog) can resist a kleenex. Terra eats them, ffs.
I have the box turned upside down to discourage him a bit...
hehehe smart. But knowing cats...
Phew! I find this grid dizzying!
am down to 16, but having trouble graying the upper P.
Think I'll try to find sleep now...Good luck with the grid!
I hope you find sleep... or even better that sleep finds you. Happy dreams, Jellen.
Happy day to you!
thanks :)
fireflies. Last word was po7/40 which almost killed my monkeys. Before + medic (abbrev)
morning all
does anyone have the 9s yet please?
a gold miner [has] pr9/72 in the hills
I don't have the ota/9 combo yet ... looking
sorry ... that should be ot8/9 combo
aha ... ot8/9 ot + vowel + instrument for observing closely
then plural
does anyone have the co8?
Not me City..... How are you ?
Fine thank you, Aussie ... finding this grid to be full of annoying prefixes (co, pr, give me hives!). How are you?
I'm good so far :o) I have 127 left to get, including the co8 !
co8 ... plural of co7 ... a new idea ...
ok, looking for the co7...
thank you doseffing! I was just working my way round to the conclusion that my 'con' fixation was getting in the way :)
... yw
I was about to give up and start monkeying 'cod' words; I'd have been here all day!
OH DU'H !!!!!! Thanks :o)
can you give me the stats for the lone N on the right please ?
no4/5 agrees
I have the feeling it's the no6/21
... or perhaps Une is right
Hey Une, I have that, but it didn't come of that one.
*off
even
i can never tell what comes from where! LOL
lol.... NM une, thanks anyway :o)
no4/5: knot or protruberance . . .
Hey Une, remember I was telling you I am starting my Level 2 Childcare in September ? Well, I managed to get a placement at my daughters school :o)
not that one either Une :o~)
how perfect! wonderful!
I have to volunteer for 10 hours a week and be assessed :o)
how about no6 -- no + portion of medicine
how old is she now (preparing to be shocked)
She is 5 Une :o)
OMG that's amazing!!!
It doesn't seem long ago that she was born, and here she is, 5 years old, about to start Year 1 at School (after the Holidays, which start NEXT friday) :o)
i know! doesn't seem long AT ALL! :-)
hello again

Hi Mom.
Hi ((Mom)) Happy 4th to you too!

good morning...
good morning Kap
Oh my PCJonesy, now you and I have the same icon.
Morning Kap.
I still have that name song stuck in my head from yesterday.
ahh ty molly... blame it all on my sister..here have some she says..... u will like it
Molly, I love Irish soda bread...whenever I see it in that particular bakery I buy it..He doesnt make it all the time
Annie, it's an art form to make proper Irish soda bread. So often it turns out dry and rather bland.
this bread is soft and full of raisins an delicious
Ivesy, hard lemonade will knock you flat on your ass if you are not used to drinking much.
co 7 40 plz
dont have it, ives, in fact, dont have a lot of the co's
It's an idea Ivesy, then plural it.
keeps wanting "cotton" to be in the grid
I'm surprised po7 is.
ty molly
I'm always surprised that repo4 is not a word. Whenever I mistakenly erase something I am putting on a message board, I have to repo4 it.
I tried that as well Kap
hyphenated
Hi Fish
afternoon
I'm never quite clear on what gets a hyphen and what doesn't.
happy independence day!
never too late to change your minds by the way
What? And go back to being British subjects? I don't think so.
Once upon a time even the word today was hyphenated as to-day.
co7 is an idea
hi all
*puts toothpicks in to prop up eyelids*
pb for kap
i say stay with the devil you know!
What did I say? What is there to eat?
8:16 and i hear there is irish soda bread
morning JMC
hi mom
on4 upon a time. I put bran muffins in there for you. Stay with the devil???
on**, kap
;-)
oop.
Nice icon Mom. In the spirit of those who attained our independence for us.
but that is okay, Kap, I didn't have it
*puts more Irish soda bread in the PB with jams*
thank you, Molly
thank you for breakfast.
well i am sitting in this dorm room on the first floor right next to the bike rack and the main walkway and people have been up since 6 am
I re-watch the mini-series "John Adams" this time of year. It amazes me what the founding Fathers went through to claim our independence. Not to mention all the men who fought for it.
(not to mention the train that went through about 50 yards away at 1 a.m.)
sounds terrible JMC
jmc, where are you?
I would recommend reading Jimmy Carter's "Hornet's Nest" for a fresh perspective Molly
I watched John Adams also, it was a great series. My parents are working their way through it now
I am in Grinnell hawking my book and answering the perennial question: "So what are you going to do now?"
Howard Zinn's People's History of the United States?
I have only been here one day and answered 20 times so far
jmc, a book tour...hard work.
i like that too kap, but jimmy carter is much more readable.
lol no sorry just hitting the same quaker and menno gigs i do every year
i am here in Iowa for a week
Born on the 4th of July.
next sunday i have to give a sermon
jm, does your book have patterns and such?
you were kap or you a George C Cohen fan
hi Bzzz
Good morning all!
no bzzn it is essays mainly about war bad; peace good--only quilts are on the cover and in the effect of being lots of small parts making up a whole
I see. Sounds intersting.
George M and also the book about the Vietnam War...
Hello, Mom.
I still think it's weird about Adams and Jefferson dying within hours of each other on the 4th of July.
good morning Nonnie
oh i forgot about that one thank you for the reminder kap
Conspiracy theory anyone?
it is weird--no just life is weird
vast right-wing conspiracy?
haha the right wing were the loyalists in those days
I always thought of that as synchronicity Kap.
teeny right-wing conspiracy?
Stats for the right E and N, please?
synchronicity- a conspiracy?
ew4

Right column grayed.
And another es 5/12
i will be in Washington Iowa -- a hotbed of Mennonites
are you nearby joansie? we could have a mini meetup!
I can hardly think of two old men dying on the same fateful day a conspiracy Kap.
i am from texas and do not mind driving
Thanks for the clues.
hi joansie
I live in Ames, but currently I am in France, but we return tomorrow
hello joansie
now molly let kap have her fun
happy 4th to all
past time for me to start my day. I wish you all a great day. ((Hugs))
bye bye mom and have a wonderful day
bye bye Nonnie, I will and I hope you do as well
((Mom)) Happy 4th to you and your family!
It's all a conspiracy if you're sufficiently paranoid to see it.
(((Annie))) thank you. Happy 4th to you, Bobby, Liz and her family xx
bye mom
bye bye JMC, have a great day
hello annie!
so north of iowa city i am guessing about a 3 hour drive from here?
Hi Nonnie! :)
kap i have a friend who used to publish conspiracy magazine
sorry north of desmoines
west and slightly north about 2 hours from IA city
that is not to bad I could probable swing up there on Saturday before I head to Washington which is south of here
*too bad
this is one of the parts of my job I will miss is seeing the U.S.A. and meeting people!
up I35 about 30 miles from the I80 interchange
So maybe coffee Saturday morning?
my email is my babble name at yahoo
sounds great...
mine is gmail. will send something
you can tell people if i am as silly in person as i am in the chog!
okay i am off to save the world *puts on cape*

i am good at embeinglish
embellishing
je
Need to get some things done before heading to my sisters for the 4th. Have a great day all and hope to see you later.

my poor kiddo -- a couple days ago had to check with me to be sure he knew what today was "for" *sigh* granted, I was NOT his teacher for American history, but still... *rolls eyes*
now that you are a teacher it kills you doesn't it?
it would have killed me before -- American history is one of my hobbies, something we prattle on about constantly. AND my Granny who died last year was so very proud to have been born on July 4.
hi stid!
was busy doing a scratch-off
her mother always dressed her in bunting on this day, and when she was a little girl, for a while she thought the parades were in HER honor... LOL my Granny was wonderful.
did you win anything phaeton?
that is wonderful stid
$20
yo go phaeton!!
*you
$18 profit
woo-hoo! That's almost a quarter tank of gas... rofl
well, down to 84 and should get up. "should" do many things today, but feeling very unmotivated. Will end up studying later, I suspect... (((Hugs and choclits for all))) *poof*
Nice story about your Gram, Stid.

That's an amazing deal Phae.

That's the 8, plural for the 9
yeah...actually we bought a 4 wheeler with it too...all for $400
thank you!!
Well, now you can cool down after you go out 4-wheeling. Perfect.
yep!
well, it was either the 4 wheeler or a 1903 Oldmobile
*Oldsmobile
Wow, an '03 Olds.
figured we would get more use out of the ATV
and the Olds cost more...lol
I see those sometimes when the local vintage car guys go out for a Saturday "show drive". Amazing looking vehicles.

thanks, mary
clue for e in 5h column?
I can't believe it takes that job you get after your PhD! I thought enable didn't take recent coins. Much less abreviations.
thanks, rasta
yw. It's the inconsistency that's so irritating. grr
I agree Rasta. The "rules" on Angelsongs page clearly state that abbreviations are NOT acceptable words. Yet there they are, all the time.
re the 8's I also have the co, ot, pr & to. What am i missing?
There are two pr8s
ty Molly will search
fireworks! appropriately
congrats nmiobo

Yeah, nmlobo, with 91 left much shower b4 guests arrive, hopefully bbl

High Natasha. : P
how's it going?
howdy, Natasha and Molly
ok....I've used the lickety split to help.....but how do you find the words you've missed? like a word you're not familar with
you can ask for a clue, annie
or "use your monkeys"--just type everything that makess the letter/point combination until you hit upon it
i'm new here....where is this ask for clue thing?
you put it into chat annie.... e.g. co 5/14
right here--for example, I might ask for a clue for the next to last co 5/12
Sounds like a red flower?
thanks Molly, I actually had it!
could you clue the first de 6/24, though?
oh, nevermind!
annie, did you want any clues?
Yeah, dump that flower.
I was just wondering ....after you've guess and figured out as much as you could if there was a place to see all the words you missed
Not until tomorrow, annie.
not till the next day, then they show everything for previous grids
cool thanks
Oh, you were looking for pre-question a witness for a trial. I will go back to lurking mode now.
If you look in Lickety's Bbble Clues link below it gives you the number of words, their length and points value. It doesn't tell you the words, but you can work out some of those you've missed
thanks I am using lickety split....but I still at a loss for the missing words.....just trying to figure out how to find out which ones I've missed but somene else here told me I can check tomorrow for the answers
hello everyone, just in to finish up, stuck on to7, any clues please?
to7, throw + not pan
ty lbd
yw, Flosey
need to go take a short nap before having to go to a picnic. happy independence day US of A!
happy picnicing and happy independence day
happy fourth to my southern friends:)
hi crossy, just finished, fireworks
yaa for flosey!
cope
hello all -- congrats fast flosey!
oops
howdy jilli
I just got back here with 60 to go.
hi jilli
will look for new icon - then face the lunch clean-up
Happy 4th of July -- I hope somebody reads my writeup!
Nat is out planting roses with hubby, the boys are playing on guitars they rented in Ganges
sounds as if all are having a great time, flosey
I read it last night jilli - you really researched it
sounds like back to old school days hearing the guitars
thks flosey
jilli, reading about you old books.very precious indeed!!.you may think about writing them up in a open file format to then share with your local library.they then could offer them in e-pub format to the public on a loan basis for 17 days.a great treasure that should be shared
I read your piece, jilli. U.S. citizens can't be relied upon to know their history (or anyone else's), and some are positively anti-intellectual! The books sound marvelous and I covet them.
i am sure gutenburg.com would be delighted to work with you
mab, I love your poppy
Thanks (O'Keefe), love your puppy.
A quick hello before I go to the park to mountain bike.
scwabby!
I've been doing gardening and yard work for several hrs.
got the cream you suggested ty and some of this!!(will make you ladies bust a gut laughing!!) http://gadgets.boingboing.net/2009/04/ 28/review-anti-monkey-b.html
crossy, thanks for the idea -- but I don't know how they could be reproduced. Our local library is small -- I actually work there. I could ask our chief librarian if she knows how to go about it. There were six or eight of these books -- my mother-in-law distribulted them among her four offspring. I don't think any of them bothered to read the contents!
they are copied the old fashoined way..one word at a time in open or html format..but i agree it is a lost of work, but books that should be shared neverless
hi crossy, scrabbler and jilli!
Hi pip
there is thisd drs home medicine book that my friend did for this purpose..was from 1900 and fast as a city phone book lol
howdy pipi
that is a sad tale...a book that is never read...:((
i can tell you, they used to use a ton of laudulum(sp) lol
Laudanum, I believe, and it was an opiate.
and some nifty heroin drops for toothaches:)
Alright, I found 46 words. Now I am going to the park to mountain bike. BBL
tc scrabbs
see? drs knew how to medicate back then:))
(((hugs all)))
bye cuz!
hi stid!
stid!
Lily, of Wharton's 'House of Mirth' overdosed on laudanum....
though in reproduction you would tend to lose the delightful usage of the greek sigmas
hey jilleroo! lovely warm day today -- sent tom and the younger kid to the storage locker earlier, need to get more boxes before I can do much more...
PIPPIN!!!!
and MAB!!!! *happy mama smile*
i know, it's been what, a year?
would of been easy to do,or get a huge monky on your back
last I heard, you were just getting to NY and I was halfway through the master's! Now I am done with the masters --- you are.... ????
Congratulations, stid, on getting your teaching degree.
well, i'm in new york
do not worry about growing up pippin, the most interesting people i know are all over 50 and still do not know what they want to be when they grow up
thanks Mab. I am excited to be able to teach on my own soon!
rest of the plan is a little bit stalled, economy is not my friend in the trying to find work department'
that's an interesting place, pippin -- are you well?
no, the economy has been pretty piss-poor ( my current fav expression of contempt) the last couple years.
That's wonderful. You're so accomplished - a family (huge), a career, etc.
LOL only two kids, Mab (thankfully) ... how are you doing? Seems we haven't been on at the same time in forever!
doing quite well otherwise, doing lots of rock climbing, dating a lovely fella, nice friends, just looking for work is all
and yes, super congrats on your teaching completion!
rock climbing is apparently fun, for those who do it. I don't do things more than half my (insubstantial) height off the ground!
life is what happens while you wait for you dreams to come true, but sometimes if you are very lucky you find your dreams along the way
oh! I put one of my canes in the "giveaway" pile today... thinking optimistically, and someone else can probably use it sooner than I can.
hey, can anyone clue the os7?
that's true, oh wise grey-bearded one... *wink*
lol,at 50% grey in the beard now,i qualify..well more like 60%
not me pippin...
poop!
os7..os + **es are digits on your feet + stop and smell the ro***
"octodon" a little-known and short-lived ancient reptile with only 8 teeth... *grin*
hey molly!
thanks for the OS7
oh, stid - it just clicked: when I wrote 'huge' I meant as an accomplishment, not that the family was large. Teaching, it goes without saying, is huge too.
ty molly
how bout the ce7? :)
pippin, I just look at your rock climbing pix -- didn't realise you meant INDOOR rock climbing and was about to ask (smart-alecking) if you'd tackled any skyscrapers yet, Silly me.
and hey, nbt finally! (now that i have 4 words left)
wtg pip
never mind found it
LOL mab! I know how that is. I am just glad the one finished high school and we can look forward. Now to figure out a way to get to and afford a college.
go pippin go!!!
hey cos!
hello cos
stid, did you read my writeup?

hi everyone :) happy birthday america.
yes, jill -- I remember browsing those books when we were at your place on4. FASCINATING to read the materials from eye-witness real-time accounts!
co7?
fireworks!
an idea, a framework, a way of looking at a group of related things/ideas cos
and plural for the 8
Sorry to nag, but I thought it might be of interest to others as well -- crossy and mab thought so too.
fireworks on the 4th of july? unheard of! :) wtg pipp
sad they will never be read by the world again..crossy wonders how many actual copies there could be?
thanks stid.. looking....
YAY pippin!!! (Did you see my silliness at 4:50?)
i did, jilli
Crossy, some of it is very boring, lol!
yes, i'm only indoor, it's safer. the floors are padded!
oops. YAY pippin!!!!!!
i am sure, but very historic..should actually be donated to a museum where they can take steps to preserve it
hmm not finding it
down to 56, about to head out to go to the st5. see you-all again soon I hope!!!! *poof*
okay kids. wonderful to see you all, but i must go check out some real live fireworks with the fella
crossy -- a criminal is ec****ionally bad
we have a family here who helped set up the Mc michael art gallery and they feature mush of the group of 7 s work, but they retain the right to walk in pull one off the walls and take it home if they wish lol
I mean ex****ionally
have fun, pip!
i should have a full size computer soon and will be able to play more regularly
love you all!
tc pippin
bye stid -- it's far too nice a day to spend it indoors. I think I'll take my laptop outside...
ugh that was a fish.. found it thx
i didnt see that one letter in the grid
i love babble, jilli offers a peek into historical records from u.s history and crossy offers a product called "anti-monkey butt anti-itch powder" lool!
such a strange episode of the twight zone
a librarian sentenced to death for obsoloscence
crossy LOVES twilight zone
so do i.. 48 hour marathon on syfy chanel
only the originals with rod serling will do
but they wont be airing my favorite episode :(
i have a book by rods brother rob serling..was a pretty good author and he also helped with some of the show scripts
ah interesting
the book is called "the left seat"
if you like arthur haily, you will enjoy this
has the same flavour
ill have to check it out
it is strange what books you read at crisis or crossroads in your life, and it was Serlings "The Left Seat" for me
mr. baggins is in the grid.
son or uncle?
son or uncle?
lol,i see it
but he isnt an accepted word
but you want a read god book cosdem? this one was written by peter benchly and was thrown by the wayside and almost forgotten during his "JAWS" fame...
whats it called?
it is called "Q Clearance" and is a great little book about a typical white how lower level office drome who by some clerical error is given the highest clearance offered at the time and ends up working directly for the president and top men and women in his staff and along the way finds out they are real people after all...
white house
drone
oh that sounds really good'
Cos, the younger Baggins was the first word I saw this morning. : )
very hard to find though cos..you will have to cull the used book shoppes
there was a lotr marathon yesterda
There is winter ground precipitation and summer precipitation here (dew and fr***)

Fortunately, I can have those whenever I want. I got the entire series box set as a gift one Christmas.

it says there are two verisons of the book
cosdem can you clue it?
That no6 has been in a lot of grids lately. I think we may all commit it to memory...well...some days.

but molly that no6 is also in the grid alot :)
i read the description.. antarctica huh?
Hi Red.
need a clue for pr8/9 to finish
is everyone who is celebrating having a good one?
looking for gold dan
thanks LA, that's independence day firewords!
good job dan2!
huzzah!
just found the ot8/9 yay me
taking baby2bit to the real national fireworks tonight - leaving as soon as Aunt Debbie arrives
hi all. clue for to8 please
submarines shoot them wold
wild
that they do. tyvm ruru
that is going to be really neat dan. I am hanging out inside, but my neighbours as always have been setting off fireworks since Sat night. all day all night!
fireworks are totally banned everywhere here so we're staying in
even the city shows are cancelled. they're afraid of setting the whole state on fire
hope baby enjoys her show
fireworks (including sparklers) are banned in our county here... police on every street monitoring... fines are both 1,000 and 1 week in jail. no exceptions.
the police keep driving by so I am thinking they are also not supposed to be shooting them off, but...it did thankfully rain 5 days in a row this past week.
this is different from our usual restrictions. zero tolerance
the stands aren't even open this year
same here wild.... usually we can have sparklers and these cheapo noisemakers.. but not this year.. we've had little rain.
it did storm for 15 mins yesterday though
we're going to the fireworks at the lake. which are lots of fun, especially from the inflatable kayak. but we always do that so i've never seen the televised fireworks
Hopefully no one will start any fires in your areas this year!
no tiki torches allowed either
I hope not.
the first po6 please?
the first one I have is groups of sheriffs
that sounds fun Dorens!
thats not it wild.. but i did need that too so thanks
I'm not big on shooting my own, would much rather watch a show, but I get to do neither this year. First time ever I do believe. Have fun Doren
ty wildcat
thought it might not be but yw
it is.. the inflatable part is good too, cause you can lie down in it and the edge is like a pillow, so it's real comfy
sorry you are so dry down there wildcat..we have been so wet up here,3 days rain 2 days searing heat, that everyone lawn looks like a putting green lol
ok and i cant find the po7.. i know it has the po4 before it in it.. i cant find the last 3 letters
one of these days, though, i should watch the televised fw;s.. i hear they're really spectacular from dc... have seen boston and they're good. will send you some rain if i can wildcat. we've had too much
Best show I ever had was at my uncle Tom's home, he has a big field and hired up some guys to do it, it was a pretty small show compared to the pros, but huge compared to the regular neighbourhood...plus we were all family there.
I feel like we can never have too much rain.
i always say i've seen enough, don't want to go out and deal with the crowds, noise, etc, but i end up going anyway
po 7 = very advanced degree from university
My parents hated them, so I really have not seen too many FW shows in person. The one time I went in NC, I was actually a bit scared, they are so loud!
ok found the po6 and the po7 ugh
wow, your parents hated them? i can't imagine growing up without fw's every year
ah didnt see ur clue dorens! ty anyway :)
last half decent home fw show i put on cost over 300 dollars! the town by comparison spends $10,000.00 on a 45 min show,so i took the family there on the first
i used to love FW shows.. now i find them very boring.
i like doing my own :)
Poor Red, a deprived child on 4th of July.
I think I was alright.
since we are on the bay,the town uses a special sand filled barge for the set up and they just anchor about 20 yards offshore and light em up!
Joking
My fav thing was always the BBQ, and today I am craving those horrible store made cupcakes with the RWB frosting. BUt I am on a diet.
my town always has set them off from island beach (yes, a little island in the lake with beach all around), but this is the first year they're doing them from the middle of the lake
Well, Molly, my childhood was a bit strange. We also almost never went to the beach, as my Dad does not like it.
please do send rain. we're desperate
crossy sends wildcat some rain...
yesterday it rained all day long... so soggy
I ordered pizza for dinner. I'm too tired to cook and it's too hot
Oooh I want pizza. I had Spaghetti with pesto...not as good as I expected.
a big thunderstorm with all the lightening and thunder, crossy loves it,a close one will make you smell the ozone, make the little hairs on your arm stand up and yer eyes pulse in your head lol
Diet though, I need to lose at east 4 more pds.
8's and 9's all done/.
You will red, once you can really move around again.
nothing wrong with that wildcat. I had friends for lunch and made chicken ravioli w/ truffle oil, freshly grated parmesan and mint.... tomatoes (really nice ones) wi/fresh basil and olive oil, home made cole slaw, fresh corn from the farm, and chicken sausage. drank a lot of wine too and now am stuffed and sleepy!
lol@ 4 pounds..is so hot here today,i think i drank 4 pounds in weight of water
mmmm sounds wonderful. I put on a garage sale this weekend and listed on craigs list today. I'm sunburnt and exhausted but I got rid of a lot of stuff
you definitely send out for a pizza then!
beautiful weather here -- sunny and warm, not hot, with a warm breeze.
7 of the average water bottle sizes so far ..lol

scratches crossy behinds the ears. poor thing
cloudy and hot here.awaiting the drop in humidity that was promised in vain
we had sun nearly all day owl, just got cloudy recently
wildcat, why do you use craigslist and not eBay?
Oh Jilli, I am a bit jealous.
I had furniture and other big items jilli. Wanted it to stay local so they could come and pick it up
that is nice weather. Here it is just HOT.
3 of the 4 things I listed sold immediately. Waiting to hear back from someone on item #4
nice, wild!
nice wild, that seems unusul!
that's great wildcat... I used craigslist once to sell an old refrigerator... fantastic.. first guy who came took it away. that is the best way to do it... fast and easy
that is great. i went to thrift shop to get the prices on my stuff for taxes and one piee sold while i was there. leery of craig's list since i am alone
it worked out very well for me. didn't have to haul them away
and hi tample owl!
the last to7 after the plural of the to4?
I'm calling a truck for the rest of it tomorrow
throw out the plant container, cosdem

Oooh Pizza!!!! (remembers diet.)

one slice should be allowable on a diet
Yup.

yay jilli!!
Congratulations Jilli! took me a minute to understand what you meant!!!
grats jili
Well, so may people were talking about a ban on fireworks in their areas...
ban is because it is too dry
Jilli, I am a cotton headed ninny lately!
Any clues needed? I was going to go outside with my laptop but the battery was dead. It's ok now...
here we used to have two computer desks in the living room, due to have phone internet and the old fashioned wiring for it i got myself wi-fi from rogers so i could put the computers anywhere, got rid of the two regular desks, got a od roll top desk for the corner for a single tower unit and a tablet for the mrs and a laptop for the offspring and it has opened the living room right up.nwe have a nice solid maple futon to acent the desk and the next think is a wall mounted lcd wide screen tv,then the bulky tv and its stand can go
oh yes, TO, I understand

hi, all!
only I am here cross, with 39 left. about to hop in the tub!
I'm here too, red! although the tub sounds good - did a lot of hiking today (a lot for an overweight old lady, anyway :-)
sounds like a great day Uusue!
I like being out in nature, if it isnt too sticky hot. I walked 2 miles today and it was so hot and yuck.
it was nice although there were a few too many mosquitoes and it was a bit hot, still really pretty
I think we went about 4 miles total.
nice, OK hoping into the tub for about 15 mins. will be back for these pesky 39...
see you later, red!
and even though I am not halfway I am going to list because otherwise I will never finish. so there.
hey all! down to 55... about to head out to buy some paint. 5 gal of one color, 2 of anther and a quart of a third... *sigh*
hi, stid!
how are you sue? have been thinking about you a lot lately -- things okay with the kiddo?
as well as can be expected - he's a bit at loose ends but is really doing pretty well. He vacuumed the stairs yesterday (which they desperately needed); now he is studying physics and calculus to make sure he doesn't forget it all over the summer.
good for him! I should have spent some time today working on the studies I am doing (for myself and my future students).... but instead worked on things around the house a little and made one trip into town; about to leave again.
it's hard to be in a limbo state.
we went out to the arboretum and did quite a bit of hiking - now I am sweaty and have sore feet :-)
LOL I LOVE places like that -- almost ready to try walking something long like that... almost. maybe by the end of the summer.
this particular arboretum is HUGE, has a lot of different areas - some nicely manicured, others pretty much forest, really nice
sounds truly lovely -- I envy your proximity to such a place!
ha. fifty exactly. I think I will have the elder stidkid get ready for his evening, and we will head out.
check it out at mortonarb.org - Morton Arboretum, of the morton salt people
see you later, stid!
cool! will look at it this evening -- after Granny moved out of her house, we were looking at her grandfather's violin, and it was wrapped in an old morton's bag -- back when salt came in cotton bags!
*poof*
OK I have returned.
ty for the bacon wrapped sausages stidmama:)
And I am checking in before I go to bed. Crossy, how is your rash? Red, how is your hip? Everybody else, how are you?
Hi Scrabs. I believe my hip to be ok, and my anxiety about it is under some control.
hey, scrabs -- sleep tight :-)
everything is recovering nicely scrabbs as i have 3 days off in total..and the cream you spoke of will go on tonight
thanks for asking scrabbs!
Hi scrabbs. All quiet on the western front.
Is progress slower than you want, red?
hi scrabs, crossy, gmere, une!
howdy sue
hey, sue :-)
I'm good with it, very concerned about what the heck my PT is doing, but it is getting under control.
Hi uu , red and une.
Good, Crossy. I will be going to Canada tomorrow to spend several hrs at a friend's cottage on the beach. In Fort Erie.
evening, stidgmere :-)
Hi Stidgmere!
sounds nice, scrabs!

Well, a few left but time to do dinner like motions. Best holidays to all.

the time difference always amazes me!!!
It is Mary's family. This is the 3rd summer that they are in a beach cottage for 2 wks. I am bringing my kayak as I take the kids for rides. I will go again next wk too. We have lots of fun.
May I please have a clue for ot8-50? Thanks
Our weather has been heavenly too--80-ish and sunny for several days. This wk will remain the same.

All of the E tiles are still at zero. I cannot go to bed til I have NBT.
well one e is E plus a red light is a **** sign.
do you have , or want stats on them Scrabs
TY, Red, and Diane, I found 2 for the top E. Now that right E, yes, stat will help
I think that's the earthenware jug
Ah, yes, isn't that obvious now. TY
after the fact, ... always ;-)
indeed
24 left, I am afraid I will force a finish on myself.
Uh, oh, my C is blank.
The lower C.
after I'm done, I'm never quite sure where some of the words have started from
I found co7 and 8 all by myself. *so proud*
oooh say can you C...
pats scrabs on the back
Hi Ruru. How has your day been?
by the dawn's early light.... and I know all the words to your american anthem :-)
actually pretty good.. I'm beat.. 5 sets of tennis in the heat
and today is your day of celebration... I hope it's been a great one !!
you should coach Christine Agulera diane..lol
LOL.... she's the one who forgot the words isn't she ?
yes
Oh, Canada....I know your anthem because it is sung at our Buffalo Sabres' games. I have listened to it since 1970! It is a beautiful song.
I didn't witness that, but I read much about it !
I'll be crossing the Peace Bridge into Canada tomorrow afternoon. I hope I am permitted to enter your country, and I hope the USA lets me return.
during my growing up, the words changed somewhat, and I still find myself reverting back to the old ones
that's in Buffalo isn't it ?? I have never been east :-((
that must be confusing diane...
I live 30 miles southeast of Buffalo.
I am sure Scrabs as long as youhave the passport you shall be fine.
Clue for N on right?
they didn't change many,... not confusing,... just when I'm daydreaming , the old words come forth lol
NOt yes + almost soup
nobroth, mayhaps?
lol
wonder if scrabs looks like a terrorist
What is "almost soup"?
see... that could have come from the other N, and I never remember.
the stuff that makes soup or sauces
soup base.... ;-)
I remember
I have a NYS "enhanced driver's license." We have to use that or a passport to cross the border.
no + a measurement of medicine
enhanced?
I do not think they would nehance my Fl iscence, but I do have a passport.
nobouillion, mayhaps?
we have to have passports to enter the U.S. now too
We all had to do that in 2010 as border crossings are stricter. We have 3 bridges to/from Canada in the Buffalo-Niagara region.
Yes, I remember when crossing back and forth to Canada was a real non-event but not any more
exactly
OK, I finally figured out the no6 word.
uh-oh, fireworks are starting and the dog is getting excited...
as in the new york ****k exchange ?
Yep, same here. I hear them in the distance. Are you in Eastern time zone, Sue, or Central? Central, right?
central, yes, scrabs
so it is not dark yet but a lot of kids are starting to set theirs off
Kids in the neighborhood have been setting off firecrackers for a few days.
here too - sounds like there are some bigger ones going off in the distance too, though
I just learned a new word from my granddaughter's facebook post... I had to look it up !!
Can you share the word?
collodion ..... she's an electroencephalographic technician, and she said she can't stand the smell of it after a busy day today !!!
I told her she should get a diploma just for spelling her "title".... LOL
Yes, it's a skin coating
they use it to attach the probes to the skull when doing tests
We use it to cover wounds sometimes.
yes... I saw that use for it as well.
I get her to read my skull and to take her time..... mostly because I love the feeling !! ( she is 22 )
At 116/105 I must head to bed now. My body is seizing up after a day of yard work and gardening.
sleep well Scrabbler.... night night
night, scrabs!
Of course I must find just a few more words before I leave.
I could use a little help with the first so 4, just not processing it tonight.
of course !! the "just one more word" syndrome !!
NM
Pieces of grass for lawns?
I am at 145/76 but still have a blank tile...
i have 7 left.
The right N is blank for me. no6 came off the other N, I see.
...but not any more.
Go Red go!
I have two no6, scrabs, one kind of like the stuff that keeps you awake at night
the other a babblet that looks like it would make more sense spelled backwards (and has a plural)
TY, Sue, now I will sleep well. 126/95 and NBT. See you all tomorrow!
night, scrabs!
gn scrabbs

fireworks and good night!!!
ok..stop the world and let me off!.. http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/6MnCIw/w ww.weirdasianews.com/2011/06/14/scient ists-china-modify-cows-produce-human-b reast-milk/
yay, red!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yay, red!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what, feeding their kids milk laced with melamine wasn't bad enough?
crossy remember the thalidomide kids...
speaking as a human who has produced human breast milk, I really don't see why the vast majority of women don't breastfeed their kids - it is SO EASY!!! and I was working, too...
and I am giving up on this puzzle - too tired to finish. see you all tomorrow!!
so do I Crossy.... and I had my first two right around that time... but I had no fears because I took NOTHING .
I have a granddaughter struggling a little with breastfeeding ( baby is 3 weeks old ) but she is determined and problems seem to be behind her :-))
sue,my wife could only breast feed for the first 3 weeks.was agony for her.her nipples cracked and split to the point blood was running down her cheast
we did the milk pumps and everything but to no avail
feel fortunate that you could breast feed
we used to go to the hospital for the use of their special centerfugal pump..but in the end, once we got 3 weeks in,it had to end
then it was the ultra expensive similac and enfelac at 22 dollars a can for 12 feedings
Hi crossy, I know some women have real problems with it, and that is very tough. But most women don't, and could breastfeed, but don't want to for one reason or another. I would be happy to see as many women breastfeed as possible as I think it is best for the baby, and as long as there are no problems is much easier than bottles
I think a can of formula is about $30 now... not sure which size though
it is definatly best for baby to feed as nature intended
Breastfeeding, like many other things in life has its popularity, then it fades out... then back in again. I was fortunate and nursed 4 babies.... ages 50, 48, 46 and 39.... I think they got the best start I was able to give them. ( and me :-) )
my wife used to feed in public, and it is amazing how often i had to defend her right to feed our child..
I would like to see our society be more supportive of it as well - there was a woman who was asked to leave a local business a few weeks ago because she was breastfeeding
that is another whole issue... I think the response is more relaxed these days.
I was never shy about it, took my baby to physics meetings and everything - I was always discreet and never had an issue
it is indeed diane
well, not here, apparently, as this was only a couple of months ago!!
another topic.... Crossy, do you ever run across old and discontinued children's books ?
http://www.imperfectparent.com/topics/ 2011/06/02/breast-feeding-moms-in-deka lb-illinois-stage-a-protest/
There is a book called "Jane's Blanket"... written by Arthur Miller ( yes,,.... the playwright ) and I'd love to get my hands on a copy.
oooohhhhh... I just found it online !!!
Just back from fireworks. What fun! I think there is a difference between discreet breast feeding and exposed breast - breast feeding. The latter is what makes people uncomfortable.
and ooohhhh .. yah right... copies selling for up to $ 145.00 :-(((
I nursed three kids very discreetly and far from the maddening crowd when it needed to be done away from home.
discreet is the key word... and it's easily done.
Every story I have heard about public breast feeding being "opposed to" involved a woman who just whipped out a bare breast and nursed. I totally understand why that would make some people uncomfortable.
i will look for it dianne
i totally con done public breast feeding in public
condone
my mother-in-law was upset once when I nursed my son in a restaurant - I had dresses and shirts with flaps so you really couldn't see anything (according to my father, who is pretty prudish). She simply didn't like the idea. But it was a long dinner and I certainly wasn't going to let him go hungry.
Amazon has 2 copies... another site has 5 BUT they are all over $ 100.00 !!!
It is one book in a series called Modern Master Books for Children... by famous authors who did not normally write children's books.
sounds really interesting, diane - I had never heard of it!
We usually do not condone spilling words in the chog, but since it is not in the grid it's okay crosshair.LOL!
Sue, those are the situations that I just don't understand. If someone is discreetly breast feeding, what is to be upset about? No one can see anything.
I agree, molly.
but now I am even more tired and am going to bed, see you all tomorrow!!
Goodbye uusue2! I will see you tomorrow in the chog.
night night sue sleep well
Hi Minver !! :-)
Hi dianedecoder! Just checking in before I go to bed.
and I'm just about to shut down for the night too... I had a long day, but a GOOD day :-)) night all !!
Bye dianedecoder!I will see you tomorrow in the chog
hiall
ce7?
Hi
Ce snake letter end for sound like the ugly cousin of a frog
hi herin hmmmmm
ty got it
no sleep tonight between fireworks for 4th of july and the train that runs through the middle of campus
Please explain
4th of july is independence day in US and everybody shoots off firecrakers until 1 or 2 am
That I understand but the Train?
the university campus where i am staying has a railroad track RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE about 50 yards from my window and the train comes through about 3 time a night
Yuk :(
slowly and blowing it;s whistle because there is nothing to keep the college kids from running across the track
i don't know it was a weird place to build a train track or a weird place to build a college
Why the >>>> is there a train in the middle of the campus
no effing clue
How long you there?
just this week
Can you stay some were else?
no** this is where the conference is and I already paid for the room--and the dorms all run along the railroad track
sod
That sounds bloody stupid if you don't mind me saying so
indeed
i am with you on that i wonder how many drunk college students get killed each year?
mmm
Hi all. The uni with the train track sounds very badly thought out, unless someone's TRYING to get rid of young people. No steep bank? No high fence? NOTHING to keep them safe?
hi jac
HI Jac
Hi jmc.
no it is iowa and everything is completely flat
Hi Herin.
My friend lives in Iowa
jmc - that's mad and must be against any safety regulation I can think of.
i really feel sorry for the parents camping on the campus because they have them only a few feet from the track
you'd think
JM you at the U of I?
no i am at grinnell
a small liberal arts college
Even so (no pun intended) jmc - mounds and fences CAN be built.
Ok
what can i say jac? i agree completely
Crazy! jmc. I should put your 2 penno'rth in the suggestion box, if they have one.
haha i will do that!
You do get used to the train noise though
i am sure about that i used to live next door to a fire station
jmc, as a lawyer, you can surely have A Seious Talk with the people that run the place? Or rather, those that finance it.
Yes, you do get used to train noise. I grew up right by a railway line.
Students get drunk. Students get depression. That railway line s a NO NO as it is.
I just looked up my old place. It is a pity the estate agents can't be charged with false advertising.
we represent most of the english speaking world geographically-- i think that is cool
all wee need really is a canadian
LOL. I'll send my cousin Simon or his wife, shall I, jmc.
:-) that is one of the things i like about babbling--think of how far apart we three are
Simon's a bit tired now after builing straw houses and making maple syrup. Marlene (his wife) is a surgeon, so she's almost always tired.
I need to do my house work soon :(
jmc - re Babble - me, too.
straw houses?
poor herin
Yes, you can make eco homes with straw bales in the walls.
hi everyone!!
Hi Luw
Hi Luw.
Herin is that 'need to' or 'have to'?
Are they mud straw Jac?
hi luw
oh i have heard of that--i guess i was thinking of the three little pids
*pigs
any clue for the ce6?
Need Jac. The house is a mess
R. Dean Taylor - Indiana Wants Me, I thought of that when I clicked on you Luw. Loved that song!
i always have housework to do.
no I can't go back there!
jmc - ce6 is an anagram of a cos word for 'to pamper'.
LOL Luw.
I don't have much to do but it has to get done.
I always have housework and gardening to do, and the washing is never-ending. Why can't my family stop making a mess and stop wearing clothes?
I got a WOW out of himself last night when he came home.
from you gorgeousness?
Blimey, Herin. What did you do?
He asked me what I did today. I told him go to the kitchen. THe kitchen table was all cleaned off. It was a tad of a disaster as we had furniture delivered
wtg herin
.
When his nan passed we inherited a buffet hutch thingy and we had to remove the shelves that were housing my cook books and such. They went on the table. The table vanished from site for about a month
Not sure what to say to that.
What the hell is a buffet hutch? Is it like a dresser?
its like a high boy
or a china cabinet
is it like a sideboard?
Ok the bottom half is 2 shelves then cabinets. The top is a china hutch. It is actually hand made two pieces.
Our kitchen table can never vanish from sight because it's always in use one way or another. Our dining table, the one in another room, is a different matter altogether. it mostly has my sewing stuff on it, if Step hasn't moved all of that onto the floor in order to spread out her GCSE revision notes.
It's a dresser, LOL!
I just put up a pic in my profile
very nice!
A sideboard is a low item of furniture with drawers and cupboards beneath its polished top surface.
formal dining room - place to put stuff that may accumulate somewhere else
that is also called a buffet and a low boy jac
i like it
It was hand made and is able to be a hutch or side board. It is cleverly held together with 2 boards down the side
the thing in herins profile is a buffet hutch, a high boy or a china cabinet
Herin - looked at your pic - yes, that is what we in UK call a Dresser, or Welsh Dresser. The original ones had a space in the middle at the bottom to keep hens in.
You can have it both ways. I have a 1960's hutch as a tv stand
it is a terrific piece of furniture
interesting jac, i have never heard that term used that way
okay i am going to try to go to sleep before the next train
jmc - isn't it great how we can add definitions to dictionaries here?
It was made in the 70's for b.fs parent's first house and then when they moved they gave it to her mum. She passed away and we inherited it. We got under 48hours to get it
bye all (85 left)
Night Jm.
night jmc
yeah i love the word explanation exchanges--especially the regional differences
*poof*
jmc - glad to hear you're safe away from the track, but please do say something to The Powers That Be about it.
my sideboard is antique. it has drawers below and a cabinet below them.
jacula i love your icon
Sleep well Jac
OPPS JM
luw - that's my old cat, Kira, or a pic that lookes very like her.
Jac is Tiger kitty still being gross?
i just adopted my nieces cat. her new roommate is allergic to cats. he's not the brightest cat
Herin, I'm feeling kinda cross with you Aussies at the moment. Even before she visited Oz, I knew my daughter would fit in there. She intends to go back now ( she's in Canada with her brother, and my bro and sister-in-law) at the moment. She's intending to do her Masters degree at Queensland Uni. I've missed her so much and will miss her a lot more in the future, I guess.
Awww Luw. I would have got a new room mate
Sorry Jac. I don't like in Queensland so I can't kidnap her for you
me too. she want me to keep him for a year. i had to get hubby to agree. he likes pets after we get them.
Herin - no, Tigsey has just slept a lot in the past couple of days and amused us last night by twitching his paws and moving his jaw like he was talking when he was asleep on the sofa last night. he's out at the moment though.
live not like
:( jac. i am so fortunate my kids live near me.
Luw you can't do that to a pet. (Sorry the defensive fur mum in me. I keep my pets close)
i have my two grandsons tonight. they are going to help me babysit for the 14-month-old tomorrow
me too herin
But see I prefer pets to people.
Herin - if I ever win the Lottery, can I pay you enought to kidnap her??
he knows me tho because aunt lu babysits for him when she travels
No Jac because she is big enough to look after herself
However, kidnap isn't really the answer. Right now, I kind of feel like I want to go to Oz, too. But, in my heart, I know it's probably not for me. I'm an English Ro4 at heart. I'd miss the greenery and everything else too much.
I have to get special people to mind the fur brats. I can't have the fur kids in catteries as none of the places have individual hotel rooms that can't see other cats.
Actually, Herin, she is tiny. Just like I was at her age.
i used a kennel for our dog once and never did again. she was so stressed when we picked her up.
Lu the thing is here the places believe that the cat's should see out and around them. My cat hates other cats and I can't find a secure hotel room style were they can't see other cats. I ask and I always get the tone on the phone like I am a crazy lady.
Jac your kidlet will be fine
Luw - that reminds me of Trixie, my best friend's family's Golden Labrador. She got put in kennels when we all went on holiday to Torquay (Devon, UK) for two weeks. First thing we did on getting back was to pick her up - she was almost bal from fretting and lost even more hair in the taxi on the way home.
Herin - I know SHE will be, but will I?
You will be fine
You reckon?
Yep
I always have my kids watch mine. My daughter comes by and plays with murphy. he is still needy when we get home. he has to be in the same room with me but won't sit on my lap to show he doesn't need me.
I think not, but it won't effect her.
I love my friends dearly but I am now only able to have one set mind the kids as one of the friends didn't clean the cat box for 2 weeks. He cleaned the poop but not the wet. That jacked me off as it is flushable cat litter
jac, you will be ok but not the same without her. phone call help.
Inidentally, one of the first things my daughter reported from Oz was that it was odd that she'd seen no cats around. I told her that many places in Oz have strict rules about cats.
Luw - I really must get to grips with SKYPE
Jac is she in Queensland?
SOrry was she in Queensland when she mad the cat comment?
explain the cat rules?
Herin - she will be, but she's in Canada right now, due to get to Calgary in a couple of hours after being in Vancouver and then visiting the ice fields in Banff.
Because of the wild life some places have a no cat's outside rule. Most have a in side after dark rule.
Ok the cats are allowed outside in runs and that sort of thing but free roaming is bad.
And in some states, cats have to have an outside cage to roam in, rather than roaming at will.
THat's what I thought
What irritates me the most is the idiot neighbours around here that let their cats roam so that at 3am I have my cat having a complete mental at a cat being out the front or then that cat wizzing on something
We have a problem with coyotes. They were reintroduce in the 80's to curb the deer problem. no natural enemies so now they are a real problem. They are the #1 cause of loss of small pets
on my friends farm they have issues with ferral dogs and cats and rabbits at the moment
If the coyotes are native to the area then you live in that area then you should work around them. Not you personally but you as a general
She (my daughter) is going to be 10 days later than first planned before I can hug her again. When she gets back from Canada to Heathrow, she's straight off the Romania for a tour of the carpathian mountains, that she couldn't do last time she was ther in winter. My Romanian sister-in-law, who now lives in Canada, says she can't see what that would add to the ap year trip - but, since being born there as a Roma gypsy child and then adopted out, she may ssee things differently.
Sounds like a great trip Jac
Wild boar have recently been re-introduced to UK, as have beavers. I'm still not sure either should have been, but still more worried about the thoughts that wolves should be re-introduced.
The UK once had bears, wolves, lioms. woolly mammoths ( a form of elephant), bison and more. However, all are long gone.
I don't think they were native to indiana but wolves and bear were. the deer population was almost decimated until the 1930's and they became protected. Then the populations grew so much that they became pests and overpopulated because they had no enemies. the coyotes were introduced as a possible answer. now they are becoming a big problem
there are fewer possoms on the roads
Luw - the probblem really is that man is no longer true to his hunting nature.
not true to nature at all
When the grid flips I am going to go and get everything sorted
Anyone need a clue
*Kidnaps Herin just before the flip and enslaves her so she will clear out the loft, dust and polish the house, dig the garden etc., etc.
NOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
:D
She seemed to be in a positive, I'll sort the house out' sort of mind. LOL
saves herin from jac to work in garden and plant flowers
*wraps Herin in a blanket to muffle her cries for help*
