hi MPitt!
Hi Jilli...
Hi, MPitt
hi jellen
I just spent ten minutes looking for a fish!
things are...well...not so good in the Pittore household
Oh no...what's up?
my husband was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer extensive stafe
*stage*
I'm so sorry...
I read your bio, MPitt. Really sorry to hear.
ty...I am trying to be strong but am so afraid
I must be very had.
ty jilli...we are selling all our "toys" boat, jet ski, motorhome, campsite, deck, shed...just want to concentrate on being together without hard work and whatever he is able to do and
I meant "It must be very hard" -- it came out all wrong!
LOL but I read it right must be the wee hours working on my brain
Oh dear. No wonder you're sleepless.
MPittore, you and your family are in my prayers.
it's getting better he got sick 5/20 two major chest surgeries and diagnosis confirmed 6/15 chemo 6/20, 21,23 again 7/11,12,13
Hello all - MPittore hugs and prayers for your husband and yourself
hi ursh
ty gapeach, ursh, all
I wonder how could this happen to us...we love each other so much...so many plans...why, why, why
Why is the question without any answer...
damned his smoking...it is stealing him away from me...I hate cigarettes wish they were illegal
My d-i-l's brother is going through the same thing. Also a heavy smoker.
sorry for my language but i am just so mad...
why don't they make they illegal..all they do is cause illness and harm...
*them*
If they were made illegal it would lead to more use and more crime -- look at the illegal drug scene.
MP - I just read your bio - I will be thinking of your both and sending good wishes over the airwaves. It will be hard and you will be angry at the world for a long time - my ma in law and a friends husband have both have this as well
I shake my head sadly when I see young people smoking nowadays when it has been proven how deadly it can be.
sometimes i feel like i'm being selfish and concerned about how my life will change and how i will miss him and how sad it is...it makes me feel guilty because he is the one who is sick and i should only be thinking about what he is going through..he is trying to make plans for me so i will be ok and can stay in our home
d
Don't blame yourself, MPitt -- it's tough indeed.
my mom has practically moved in with us to take care of us...god we are lucky to have her...just turned 84 5/2
Wow, you are lucky!
I know jilli...it's a roller coaster of emotions the same ones I had when my dad passed away except he was sudden and now we do have time to plan and know to enjoy each day as it is a gift
nbt in 33 words
There will be many days to enjoy.
wtg jenny
I think that too jilli some people never find a love like we did and we have been together 34 years
true jilli that is why we are simplifying things he doesn't want to leave me with so much to do so we can spend time enjoying each day
he is one very considerate guy -- I'm sure I don't have to tell you that.
that's the way to do - concentrate on each other as much as you can - get a video camera and and ordinary one and take loads of images of you doing things together and of places you love
yes he is...i can't imagine what he must feel inside each day it must be awful for him but he doesn't show it
What good advice, Kazz
wow kazz we have that but we don't use them much..I will get them out tomorrow...our grandchildren will get to see them...they are so young...only 4 and 2
And I hope you will have lots of fun and lots of laughs
i know we dont have anything nasty touching us directly but after we both had a scare which fortunately was nothing to worry about, my hubby takes hundredss of pictures now wherever we go - for the future he says when we cant remember or one of us is not there. Also get your hubby to leave some word of wisdom for his grand kits
we do jilli...even when we were in the hosp together...i wouldn't leave his side...we slept in the same bed and the nurses teased us...it has affected his brain and he became paranoid and hallucinations and thought they were trying to kill him it was so sad..it was due to low sodium but he is much better now...but still sodium problems...we laugh about silly things that come out of his mouth...we always laughed and played alot
you might not need it but it is a fail safe - like you said enjoy each day for all its beauty and sadness and pain and then the little tinkly special moments that flit thru our lives and a lot of the time pass by unnoticed
I'm afraid I must be off to bed before I konk out on the keyboard. All the best to you both, MPitt, and goodnight everyone...*poof
I must go...MPitt, I wish I knew what to say...
G'night jilli
nite jili - i must go as well - off to work for me and i wont be back till Sunday off to ma in laws
just back again, needed a snack
Good luck with everything MP
Jellen, you know what it's like.
Yes, I do...
good night all...thank you for just letting me talk...and all your helpfulness is so appreciated...i'm going to try and sleep also...
any time MP, please know, thoughts and prayers are with you and your hubby
flosey -- I hope you've scrolled back a bit and read MPitt's bio.
bless your mom for coming to help
yes, I did, jilli
I see you have, flosey. And goodnight all again...*repoof
yes jellen I know you understand..ty flosey..

Just lit a candle for MPitt and her husband.
hi, all. for thoae of you who believe in the power of prayer, I could use some prayer. I had a CT scan of my lungs last week and I have a nodule of some sort in one of my lungs. I see a pulmonologist in three weeks; I have had a chronic cough since mid-May when I had day surgery.
Good morning all.
if the chronic cough is due to bronchitis associated with allergies, it has not cleared yet despite several courseds of medications
Angel - will send prayers your way! God is good and hears our every prayer!
Angel, I believe in the power of prayer and I will hold you in my prayers.
I absolutely believe in prayer. God's got this.
angelsong, just came in - I will pray with you too

my cousin has been injured for the second time in afghanistan. explosion. hopefully his hearing will return this time as well. his team leader lost both legs and an arm, josh had to give the first medical care. i suppose they get awards for this sort of thing but it really doesn't seem to compensate...
:-( i am sorry hursh
that is really rough, hurshy. hope he is okay.
PTSD is probably the main thing. i can't even imagine seeing someone you know with limbs blown off and trying to stop the bleeding and so forth. i mean it just seems like, unreal. like a movie.
they need to come home!
ditto that
Good morning, all.
needless to say i ag5/14
at the very least i feel that all members of the legislative and executive branches should have to spend an hour each day hearing or reading injury reports.
Ditto to bringing soldiers home from Afghanistan. They should damn well have their own sh*t together by now.
if he needs help getting the help he needs have him call the GI Rights Hotline of which I am a part: 877-447-4487
*back to lurking*
thanks jmc. i think our VA is one of the better ones, but thanks. of course who knows when he will be home to go to it. does the hotline also deal with getting help while you're still there?
Blessing Hurshy. My sister just came back from Afghanistan
glad she made it home!
I think she had 2 of her fellow soldiers killed in the time she was there. I think she was on break at the time. It sucks. I was talking to a USA friend last night about how soldiers are losing their homes whilst serviing
yeah i've seen news stories about homeless vets. it's maddening.
My friend is going through possibly losing her house and she was saying how the banks / loans operate. The whole 'whilst you were OS serving you defaulted on your mortgage we sold your house'
my cousin is too young to have a house... he went straight into the service.
so there's the bright side, he can't get screwed that way.
It is just wrong though
in the US there is a law that protects military personnel while they are deployed from having their home foreclosed. But lots of people in the US are being foreclosed since the recession
yeah the banks are breaking the law left and right and betting that people will either not realize or not have the ability to bring a lawsuit.
JM that may be the case but it doesn't stop the shaddy SOB's from doing it
morning all :)
hi again, all, breakfast time on the prairie!
hi usue, infer, jmc et al :)
and I found the ga7/8 all by myself (well, once I knew there was a ga8), so there.
Well, praise God and pass the muffins, sue!
hi, mrp!! how goes the vacation?
well usue, we hare now here till tuesday! were supposed to leave today, but not possible
HI Mr P
otherwise, having the usual father talk, kids having a great time, so many unusual things happening on the farm!
hi infern! :) **hugs**
ah - you are making the best of it I am sure!
train problems still?
yeah, lines are down with trees.... earlies is monday, so have booked tuesday
HI Sue
Mr Pres thank gods you were not on that train that got hit by the trees
hope to get on a train, cause bus travel with all these kids isn't friendly!! LOL
thank god no one was!! that was just a disaster!
good morning everyone:)
Hiya, Crossy.
hi, crossy!
howdy judi
sue:)))
Hi Cross
and traveling with one kid was bad enough (which I did on planes, trains, buses, and automobiles) - can't imagine doing it with more...
howdy herin:)
I firmly believe children shouldn't be taken on vacation until they're at least 9 years old.
ha - got the tu8. strange variation on a more common word.
Strictly for parental sanity, of course.
I was mostly traveling for work, Judi, and was a single mom most of that time (first de facto, then de jure) so not much choice
hi crossy!! **hugs**
travelling with kids is an art!!
good morning all
morning wvt!
hi, wv!
Phantom: torture
hi judi! **hugs**
anyway if the choice is vacation with kids or no vacation at all, eventually one chooses to vacation with kids (or kid in my case)
Hi, MasterP. **hugs** back atcha.
yeah, judi, what I go through everyday trying to work out the routine of whether we go shooting, lighting fires, river excursions, driving lessons.... etc etc
so when he was 6 he got to visit castles along the Loire, because I had always wanted to see them, and we were there :-)
Judi my friend is taking her 1 and a half year old to Poland to see family. She also saved really hard to do a private tour on the 3 day lay over they had
sorry judi, my bloody internet here won't log me in as mrpresident
infern, the is just .... mad?
Ah. I was wondering, MrP.
that is surreal usue!
it is me!! promise!!
Huh Mr pres
Obviously the work of Chinese hackers again.
ah yes, my son visited Poland when he was 6 also as i had a conference there...
lickety and I were trying to find a solution, but nothing forthcoming... so will just have to go this way as master_president for the moment
also Greece, another workshop...
wow! what a fabulously travelled child!
Mr PRes don't you just log in with Mr P @iamawesome.com with password?
hahaha!! luv you infern!!
it's done him a world of good even though he doesn't specifically remember a lot of it - wonderful experiences for him!
Perhaps Dr. God could help, Mr.P. Maybe it's a Babble glitch.
not really, this puter won't (refuses) to recognise me... is ok, can live with the change for now. When I get back home, will be mrp again! :))
indeed usue!! just amazing what they do remember!
have extended my time here by 4 days to try and get on track back to Sydney... hope it works out
Where are you stranded, MrP?
in Gilgandra... 70km north of Dubbo in NSW.
middle of bloody nowhere!
that's BFN mr P
Bummer. Wouldn't be so bad if you were stranded somewhere interesting.
but, have all the fun things we need to keep ourselves occupied.... 4 wheel motorbikes, tractors, bulldozers. fires, river/fishing, shooting, scavanger hunts... all good for the kids
indeed ruuster!!
BFN is the exact reading for this place!!
and, I taught the 12 and 13 year olds to drive a car!!!
Here is m favourite discription for the middle of now where: Keep Driving. Keep driving. Keep driving. Ok Keep driving some more. Yep keep driving. ARE WE THERE YET
exactly infern!
or from an old Garfield comic: Jon - We're lost; I think we're about 10 miles from nowhere. Garfield: I think we're closer than that!
when my dad isn't here... I let them get on the quads on their own (only around the house) and they can also go down the river on their own. god help me if dad found out
haha! usue!! too right
lol
he had a massive spit at me tonight, telling me what a poor parent I was etc... I told him to shut the hell up and remember how I was brought up as a daughter with him.... He is totally overprotective of the grandchildren!
Now, I can actually take them out and light a fire without his 'gracious presence'!!
I guess we all live and learn
Odd behavior for a grandparent. Usually grands are gleefully over-indulgent of the kiddos.
my dad and I are finally coming to peace with each other - about time as he is now 90 and I am 60 :-)
don't get me wrong, I luv my dad, but he is being way too protective of the youngsters!
Thank God mine were!
We have been cleaning out all our boxes. Found so far stuff from his ex. I also found a role of undeveloped film.
And you know what is bizzare????
ooh - that's intriguing, herin!!
my dad and I agetting getting along much better these days.. he's dead
what, mrp?
I know how to light a fire, how to shoot a firearm, how to ride a quad bike, how to use a tractor etc.... but when the grandkids are here, I am totally usesless!! amazing!! LOL
I told himself that if its nude photos of his ex can I put it on FB and the internet. I was given the go ahead
lol, herin!!
yeah, your dad probably wants to retain some illusion of authority - not easy around grandkids :-)
hahaha infern!! don't do it babe, she will spit fire!!
did you and your dad have a difficult relationship, ruru?
i know use, but he is in two minds... I had to pull him into line tonight
uh.. yes..
oh ruuster! so sorry
that is too bad, ruru :-(
Mr Pres you could always tell him that the grand kids are proof you have had sex
I try and make my dad's life difficult, but he blocks me at every move!
it's fine.. water under the bridge and all that
glad it is over for you ruuster... is a hard thing to understand if you aren't in it
still it is tough - my partner's mother was an alcoholic and they had a very complicated relationship (not as bad as sons and dads can sometimes be, though, I think)
once you are an adult and have a family of your own,the best relatives are ones that live far enough away that you have to travel 1000 miles or more to visit, then everyone is best of friends
Mr Pres if you get a chance I put up a new profile pic on FB of himself Gran and Pop and I
true, crossy!
Can't find the second ra4. Any help?
I have total bitch sessions at my dad, and he just nods and agrees and complies etc..., then ignores my rants. I luv him for it
((crossy)) !!
Hi Kenny and can't help don't have it
it was really good for my dad and me to spend some time together this spring - it was the most time we'd spent together since I was 17
<--- no ra words here
good lord! haven't seen you Kenny in forever!!
(((MRP)))
<-- but am starting to find some now that I noticed there is a lower r :-P
mine is what the FBI does on drug lords
(((((crossy!))))) hugs!
that's my ra 4
yes, that's the one I got, ruru
I think every family has at least one relative who is the proverbial thorn. That would be my sister in our family.
Tx ruru.
Unfortunately, she doesn't speak to any of us any more. We don't know what's become of her.
my dad kind of is the thorn (unless it's me...) but he's mellowed a lot (in spite of what his wife thinks)
oh, that is sad, Judi!
my dad is my thorn, but one must be careful as i lost my mother in 1991 and there were many things i would of liked to have said to her and the chance was lost due to time and distance
my father had a sister like that...
Yes, sue. It is. I pray she is not homeless. Last I knew she lost her apartment (after being evicted for non-payment) and was living in a shelter. She has mental health issues.
OK I must go to bed. Night all
gn herin
similar with my dad's sister (now long gone, of course)
'Night, herin!
night herin
night, herin!
nite infern
must be 1pm in aussie land?
my god it is friggin cold in here... getting a few jackets... brb
1 am, more like, ruru
that's what I meant
1am
I haven't had my coffee yet
last night was -4C .... wht the hell is that?? never been in it, never want to be in it again!!
it is 1.22am here
Just finished my tea :-)
isn't it winter there, mrp?
GThat is why I have a minus 5 sleeping bag that comes with me
all i am left with is old photographs and a picture in my mind of my mother 60,s hairdoos, the smell of her perfume and the way she taught me to ride a bike..her way of making the perfect english breakfast..tea at 4..tucking me in bed as a child..all else is gone
i woke up to snow/frost on the ground in places that the sun wasn't shining
Are you sure you're not in Siberia, Mr.P?
cough..well enough of that rot, lets look at this grid for a bit
(I mean, here that would be spring or fall weather)
and I am off
oh crossy, sounds surreal
{{{{{{{{{{crossy}}}}}}}}}}}}}
judi, this place is unreal!! below zero, then in the high teens celcius... that is middle of BFN australia for you
Swim for it! Save yourselves!
mrp, the American southwest is like that - I remember camping where it would be -1C at night and then 29C in the day, absolutely crazy.
herin is off! night herin... like a frog in a sock?
I live in the desert, and we routinely have 40 degree daily swings - that's F of course, still, 20ish degrees C
(that's 30F and 80F for you muricans)
the temp changes are crazy!!
and now for crossy,s tidbit of the day!!
Baseball player Richie Ashburn, in August 1957, hit a fan with a foul ball. A few minutes later, he hit the same fan again(!) while she was being taken out on a stretcher.
where it's dry, no moisture in the air to hold the heat
on ya crossy!
indeed, rasta!
and lots of sandy areas also loses it heat fast at night
bb fan was killed yesterday trying to catch a ball - fell over a fence. sigh.
it's hard on the tomatoes. If it goets too cold overnight they never set fruit
i used to bring a folding fishing net to the jays games:)
i brought a very sick and diseased child up here... on deaths door with broncitis etc... he is now miraculously healed!! the dry air is the best for that crap
holy moly usue!!
oh, we have 5,500 acres of sand here!
cat heaven, mrp!! lol

Fireworms!

ok, time to do some cleaning, bbl.
after all the s**t I have been through, I have asked dad for half my inheritance, will put a house up and live off the land... pi$$ off to pychopaths in Sydney
sounds like a plan
To which dad replied....?
you right crossy, and good plan. Will buy my dad cattle in exchange for the land
oh judi, he just doesn't want to hurt his 'little boy' I said tough sh*t... he isn't coming up here and I am willing and able to take the property on
Geesh. It's friggin boring here at work today. I'm the only one in the building. Boss due in at noon, though. Pffth.
crossy always wanted to get a cottage once again, wood stove, kerosine lamps, hand pump at the well and the coldest outhouse toilet seat north of the 38th! lol
That cinches it, Crossy. You are completely mental.
some have told me that
I can ride a stock horse, train a cattle/sheep dog, drench, and immunise, desack, skin a roo.... I am a country girl
phew.. I thought she said skin a Ru
BUT... I am his princess....
on a lake teeming with fish, your land is your own,the cry of the loons on the lake...sigh...
ruru, you would do good with a nice skinning!! I excel at that, and that gets me in trouble with the city folk
5 bush cord of wood cut and split for winter:) root celler full of that falls canning..
yeah..well it's been a while since I was last skinned...lol
OMG! I have fabulous footage of the kids doing all the farm work!! will put it on private youtube and let selected few see it.
as in select few... those that ask to see it

Can't believe they're moth balling the Shuttle. Sucks that we'll have to rely on the Ruskies to get to the space station. Penny pinching at NASA.
it won't let me log in as mrp

ruru, yesterday I picked up 3 rescue dogs at animal control in a tiny town 45 mins from Nashville -- was very relieved to get outta there -- I kept passing stores like "Guns," "Guns and Ammo," "Guns and Leather," and "Guns and Indoor Firing Range" -- AACCKK!!
maybe it harks back to the days when people didn;t have sex before marriage (was there ever such a time?)
really
ty Glant
it's easier to buy a gun than a pack of smokes
Guns and Leather sounds kinky
it was CREEPY and there I was in my mom's old Le Sabre tank that I've covered in Obama stickers! LOL
I thought that sounded VERY odd
sounds like it's easier to buy a gun there than glue or knives here LOL
oh jeez.. you are asking for trouble une
and Animal Control was out in the middle of nowhere --
I'll say
and the animal control officer's name was Randy LOL!
in any case, all three sibling lab mixes are now on their way to fosters in Virginia :-)

Evening all :)

Waving across the bridge thru the rain...Glantarell. British Summer....unbeatable
liquid sunshine:)
waving back - rain has gone here, sun breaking through - and i think we had summer in april LOL
Plants/slugs and snails are happy...but my knee joint isn't lol
We've had at least three successive summers in Spring...I know, I'm a horticulturist and plants are misbehaving....bring back my childhood 70's summers..long and lasted til autumn. Oooo and icecream didn't go straight to the hips.
my plants have been very weird this year - tulips came and went in an instant, primroses came early and stayed late, hellebores were still flowering into May
leeks have just gone straight to seed without filling out enough to be picked
Yep...I've given up predicting anything...just talk to them and let them do their thing..
Hello Everyone :)
hi sadie
Hi Sadie
hi Glantarell and tbear
hi, tbear, sadie, glant!
hi sue
hi sue
crosshair.......liquid sunshine!! You make it sound like a mixer. Gunna put ice and a slice in it and a good dollop of Mothers Ruin....
lol
oh, speaking of mother's ruin, if you like it try soem Hendricks with a slice of cucmber and ice - I think it's the best I've ever tasted
hi, crossy!
and I won't be rubbing it in my knee I can assure you..
clue for ga 6/24?
A friend bought me a bottle of Hendricks for my last birthday.....amazing stuff....spent about an hour just sniffing it from the bottle..delicious but quite pricey
worth it
and you have to have fever tree tonic with it - divine
get fever tree form waitrose
like the ga7/36 but without the repeated consonant, buff
I shall certainly try that Glantarell...thank you
howdy sue, alas,i must be off to work but take care everyone and happy babbling!...poink!
have a good day at work
Buff... ga6....... killing someone by cutting across their throat.....
ty for the clue Maryte
.*.*. yw.*.*.*.
Thanks Maryte and sue - I didn't have any of them and now I have all.
and the extra consonant at the end for the 8/55
for both forms of the word
i knew knew you could spell it with one T
3 left
actually it's a steel wire wrapped around their throat
fireworks
yay, glant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
congrats Glan
.*.*.*GIANT.*.*.*.*
Congrats.. I never finish, I don't have to patience to try
sometimes i don't either!

I still need one E, but i think that's the one you want. et 4/5
thanks Diane.....that's the one ...but I still don't get it..
okay..... et + 2 vowels ( it's a babblet )
go straight south, then west ;-)

I believe JMC said she was a good fo6er, so not ALWAYS to animals. : P
thx, diane!
yw, sue !
Hi everyone...it's like a monsoon here...flash flood watch
Bad storms here too Sea.
must be coming from your direction Molly
hot and sunny here...
hi Babblers! back to finish up
Not sure how close you are to DC but the whole Metro area is under a severe thunderstorm watch.
hi, aloy!
it is storming here
hubby is on the eastern shore I wonder if he is getting dumped on
hi Aloyisius
I am 30 miles west of Baltimore
we've been having rain, wind and thunderstorms.... typical prairie weather after some very hot days.... several funnel clouds touched down yesterday afternoon and evening, but about 90 miles south of here.
as long as we don't get damaging winds I am ok with the heavy rain
hi sadie and sue .. grumbling at myself for missing some easy ones
hi Aloy, SeaSpray
44 left for me and I have screeched to a halt
there are some bad storms around Baltimore and up in my area in Pa
It has been hot and humid here too diane...and hello
howdy diane
how far are you into PA sadie?
we had a crazy spring all over U.S. and Canada, and summer is much the same.
Well then, everyone plug in what needs to be charged and stay dry.
i am about an hour south and a tad west of allentown in the tip of Montgomery county Sea
lol good idea Molly
HA! hit 2/3, now I can list :-)
at least I won't have to add water to the pool or water plants today
nah think you will have enough sea lol
My plants have gone from dry to saturated very quickly.
has anyone here ever worn Merrel shoes?
our yards here have been getting brown this rain is much needed
yes, we do need this rain too
No Sea, never worn them, but they must be good considering the price.
I bought a pair of sandals today on sale (cough) and am going to give them a try
SeaSpray--you brought me out of lurking. I wear Merrills all the time in winter. Hi, everyone
had some Merrel hiking boots once.. well made
hi, miranda!
They seemed very nice and I bought them in Pa, so no sales tas lol
Hi, uuusue
tax even
Whoops! uusue!
Sea, they are supposed to be very good for your feet and legs.
They're great for winter weather. warm, non-slippery, waterproof, comfy.
np, miranda, an extra u never hurts :-)
ha!
I live in flip flops during warm weather but wanted something with a little more support
I still swear by my birkenstocks although I chew up the soles really fast (bad pronation)
I buy the 99 cent flip flops at the pool store and wear them around the house lol
99 cent flips are my taking out the trash shoes. That is the extent to which I can wear something in between my toes. I live in Teva sandals in the summer.
I had a pair of Tevas's a long time ago...very comfy
tevas are really nice too - I had a pair that I really liked which finally gave up the ghost (velcro died)
and I'm with you, molly, can't stand things between my toes - used to wear them all the time when I was younger but can't do it any more
I know some people can't do the between the toe thing...depends on the shoe, but most of the time I can wear them
you would think with both a de- and an re- in this puzzle there would be better de and re words.
.. FW, and I'll go mow unless.. anyone need a clue?
guess not.. ok, Happy Babbling all! poof

Hello Gran Mere. Glad to hear that you're having nice weather and that Murphy is having fun in his training classes.
Hi Molly. We are doing pretty well in our neck of the woods.
any clues needed? If not, I'll go to my other time-waster: jigidi.com (free jigsaw puzzles-- really good)
And I should go and clean the bird-bath too while the sun is out and it's not too chilly

Hi, Stid. I am fine! I had a very good surgeon and I feel great! I had te injury for some time, but the leg locked up on me Tuesday night so I was forced to have the operation. I notice now that it is repaired, that I have been dragging my left leg for a long time. Now, I am walking correctly.
Have a wonderful evening all of you! Hugs to all!
bye!
owie... but GOOD for you for getting it fixed. It will be so much nicer in a couple weeks!
*tosses choclits to science on her way out*

I am okay too -- was better before I spent a HUGE amount of $$$$ on hiking gear for stidkid #1 ... mostly clothing. Probably un-necessarily expensive, but wanted to give him the most positive experience possible. Got pants and and a hat that a insect-repellent ($$), a self-inflating sleeping pad ($), and various other things ($$) -- didn't need a pack, a tent, a sleeping bag - we were able to borrow those..... *sigh*
Ouch!
thanks for the FR
I have one of those self-inflating sleeping pads...very cool...
yes -- so much lighter and packs very small.
Of course, I never go hiking or camping :-P
neither do we, that's why we had to buy some of these things! LOL
firewords! tx all cluers. do5/14 was my last
Hooray for dan!
YAY dan!!!!

Anyone around needing clues?
Hi jellen, I could use a clue for the first ou5
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
And hi folks
not in and Nike slogan Just ** It
ty Jellen.
i have 67 words left :)
That is fireworks for me.
And hi Min, wht and Lisa
Hooray for wht!
I was blind to that.
Congratulations wht on your fireworks! Good for you
nice job wht...i am a far way from that just yet...
hello jellen
i have no 8 letter words and only one 7 letter...any clues would be helpful :)
What's the 7 you have?
ou 7/36
Okay...here we go...
fr 8 = f + ro 5/10 + text speak for you are
I dont have a ro 5/10 yet
just an ro 5/12
(ro 5/10 is the past tense of decay without the last letter)
ro 5/10: ro***n eggs smell really bad LisaG.
never mind...just got the ro 5/10 :)
thank you min!
yw
thank you jellen
got it
ga 6/24 = ga + ro 4/4
ga 7 is the past tense
ga 7 and 8 double one of the consonants
thank you...got them :)
Did you see the clue I gave dan for ou 5/14?
no
Okay ou 5= not in + Nike slogan Just ** It
oh, I had that one already
ou 7 is the person
got that one, it was my only 7 that i had
Oh, you need the other ou7 then!
O's Opposed! 7 left
dgfd
yes :)
i have ou 7/36
ou 7 = not in + extreme anger
extreme anger? the only words i am thinking of are ire or irate, and those are too long
G's Grappled! 5 left
Rhymes with what birds live in
never mind...i got it figured out
:)
tr 7 = tr 5/10 + either/**
tr 5/10 is a characteristic
no tr 5/10
ha ha, you knew i was going to say that didnt you?
:-)
tr 7 = past tense of tr 4/4...faster than a walk, slower than a gallop
:)
tu 8 = tu 5/12 (private teacher) + how old you are
F's Flipped! 3 left
thank you jellen...I only have 50 words left now!!
Go Min
Yipee!
most of them are 4's so I know I can maneuver them somehow :)
or is that yippee?
Much better
ha ha...yippee
The problem I had with some fours was remembering you can go two directions in so many cases...
yeah, a lot of fours are simple, but then you get the weird spellings and such...it can drive a girl crazy!
I am done! I have fireworks! tu6/24 was my last word
Hooray for Min!
Can stay for 15 more minutes if clues are still needed.
great job min!!
I think I'll take off for a while and play my newest addiction...Lexulous Live...
Thanks!
Goodbye Jellen!I will see you tomorrow in the chat log
thanks for your help jellen
have a good night
You are most welcome!
are there any ai words besides ai 4/4?
ai6,21
An ai6/24 word is past tense of the ai 4/4 word LisaG
thank you :)

Hi Min et al.
GEvening everyone :0)
Hello Mary.
hi Jac
Hello Jacula & Maryte! How are you guys doing tonite
Nice to meet you Mary. Just read your bio re Ontario and a winter place in Ireland. LOL! I guess rain is better than minus God knows what in winter.
Min - my bones are aching after much too enthusiastic digging in the garden earlier. I probably will be barely able to move later. LOL
hey Min....Yes, it will be warmer!!! Can't be any colder!!
cold? wow -- forecast for Monday here is 101
Une - Hi. I think Mary was replying to my post about her building a winter home in Ireland rather than her home in canada.
Quite warm right now...but, winter.......you babblers don't know cold unless you've been here!! :0)
ok, was just zipping by and saw "cold" LOL
sometimes too cold to snow..... we get a frozen fog instead of snow.....too cold for the snow!!!
I've not been to Canada yet but both my kids are there right now, staying with my bro in law and wife. (Her baby due very soon.) My uncle and aunt, who they will be staying with next have been there since the early 1960s. So, yes, I do know about the cold.
Goodnight to my fellow babblers! I'll see you tomorrow
'Night Min. See you soon.xx
Good night Min.... Where are they Jacula?
Une - I often zip by and see stuff, too.
only time I went to Canada was in March and MAN was it cold -- we were in Montreal and it was -5 degrees F.
Mary - Calgary at the moment.
My sister lives in Montreal (will be there last week in July)They get cold...but we are colder...
Jacula, Calgary is pretty cold too.....you must come to visit!!
Daughter zipped up to Vancouver and then to Banff first, will be in Ontario next.
She's just spent 3 months in Australia, so Canada feels a bit less warm.
She will have a wonderful time....did she see the royal couple??
wow Jacula..she is literally all over the map!!
I doubt she would have been interested in Will & Kate, so... no.
Une..did you like Montreal??
preferred Quebec City -- was like being back in France :-)
and FYI this was MANY years ago
Mary - I need to get a world map and first stick pins in it for her year out travelling and then put cotton trails on it to show how she's zipped around. What memories, though! I wish I could have done the same at her age. Times were different back then in the 70s, though.
is that your pup, maryte? soooo cute!
ahh Quebec city... it IS like France!! Trust me, it has not changed!
so charming . . .
The Jack Russell pup is my father's.. and his name is Jack.
:-D
Une - you should have posted that last post in French. LOL
I was in France last year....
c est bon!!
tomorrow I'm picking up TWELVE rescue chihuahua babies that are going on a long transport up to Rhode Island :-)
I can't look at pics of JR's since my JRX Sheltie died some years ago. I still miss him.
where did you visit in France, maryte?
Aww Jacula...we do get attached, don't we??
Une - blimey! That's a lot of whining pups!
4 crates of 3 each :-)
Also peeing etc. I hope you have lots of kitchen roll in the car.
my leg of the trip is only 65 miles
65 miles is still about 500 whines, and 4 or 5 poops and pees per pup.
Not to mention the vomiting.
LOL!
We landed in Paris for 3 days and then headed down south to the Riveria and onto Italy......up to Switzerland etc. It was wonderful!
oh, love Switzerland . . . worked there one summer
such a picture postcard everywhere you look!
I never got to Paris, though it was once all arranged. Maybe one day...
Must go back again!! ... Jacula, life is short...just do it!!
I'm hoping my other half, will just do it. LOL
C h o c o l a t e ...
Fantastic bool, Mary.
or even booK.
book?
C H E E S E !!
speaking of just do it,crossy went up in a bi-plane today!!! what a wild ride!! in the open cockpit, wind in your hair! was amazing..things go so slow it felt like you were just coasting along... worth every dime!!
We get the best selection of all the world's cheeses here in UK. Most supermarkets have at leat 200 to choose from.
ahhhh ... is that swiss for cheese... or fromage????
wow, what an experience!!
Well done, Crossy! Glad you enjoyed it.
love England!!!
was amazing une
the fromage suisse was sensational :-)
100 dollars for 30 minutes lol
Hey Crossy!!! You must of had fun!!
was incredible maryte
Mary - Chocolat - book by Joanne Harris which was then made into a film. Google it.
*Mary wipes off drool off the keyboard*
Crossy, that is not that bad....I bet it was worth it!!
worth every dime
Crossy will back me up re the cheese we can get her in the UK, Mary, since I sent him links to our supermarkets. Anyway, most of the best cheese in the world is made right here in UK and Somerset Brie is far nicer than French Brie.
Cornwall Brie is also better than French Brie.
the britts make fine cheese indeed
Yes we do!
though here in quebec we have a world famous applewood smoked 5 year old cheddar that is sublime
I am writing this down.... we love all the cheese....I have had some lovely cheeses there.... there is one from Manchester...a kind of cheddar??
STILTON!!!
wensleydale!
Crossy...quebec...cheese curds for Poutine!!
indeed maryte
mmmmmmmm .*.*.POUTINE.*.*.*.
Aren't the Britts famous for their blue cheeses' too>
Canadian Cheddar is pretty darn good
Canadian cheddar is quite nice, so long as it's mature. But that's just me, I like a nice sharp cheese. My son's quite the opposite.
my mrs loves very sharp cheese
The best cheese of all for me is a Welsh cheese, Black Bomber, which is encased in black wax. Failing that, 'Collier's Cheese' isn't bad. (Also Welsh.)
me too!!
me three
:-D
Une - if you like a sharp, mature cheese then import some Black Bomber. I promise you it will be worth the cost.
we have a specialty cheese shoope called "dags and willows" they have over5 200 local and imported cheese on offers, most are 15-20 dollars or more for a 1-2 inch pie slice..and you only buy the best water crackers when sampling this cheese and lock the door and take the phone off the hook lol
200*
Whole Foods carries a huge selection of (very expensive) imported cheeses -- YUM!
mmm... come to babble and see that you all are talking about cheese! My favoritest thing!
Une - link for the cheese -
http://www.snowdoniacheese.co.uk/
I am trying to convince The Boy to let us do a cheese platter after dinner like the French.
a fine cheese, wather crackers or a french stick and a fine bottle of wine=heaven
tx jac
Une - y/w.
bagette
Crossy - I ag5/14!
A nice red wine with an assortment of cheeses gets me so happy....
must run -- gnite all!! *poof*
Jac! I can't believe I missed that one with only 24 words left! Slap me with a fish, please...
lat week, wife and i spent the afternoon feeding each other quebec cheddar and french stick and washing it down with a nice chardonney
ballet - who is The Boy and why should he stop you doing what you want?
my boyfriend, Jac. haha honestly we probably can't afford a cheese platter (wallets or waistlines)
mmm quebec cheddar....
Crossy - did you? Please don't tell us the x-rated stuff after that. LOL
hehe
to hell with the waist ballet, eating like that with some grapes and other fruit is better for you than north american fare
true... :)
for the x-rated stuff it will cost you jakula lol
this grid is rough for me today... I'm not seeing the easy words.
Crossy - no money right now. Sorry! Just as well we hve a full freezer and lots of fruit and veg in the garden so we can feed ourselves. LOL
When my Mum, who has always been slim, was diagnosed with angina a while ago, the first thing the doctoro's told her she should not eat was cheese. That peed her off, since it's her favourtie food. Then they gave her medication and she found out that she can't eat grapefruit whilst she's taking it and so had to send back the half-eaten pot of my home-made grapefruit marmalade that she'd been really enjoying. Latest health thing for her was diagnosed as kidney stones. 'What can I do to prevent more?' she asked. 'Don't eat anything nice!' our doctor told her. Life is short and when you're in your mid-70s WTF! Well, Mum didn't say that exactly, but you get my drift.
Sorry for the spelling errors! A few glasses of wine + it's 4.11 am here - just got other half (half a bottle of whiskey consumed) and step (struggling with her jammed up laptop) to bed.
Who'd be The Lady of The House, eh?
You're kind of right, Jac.... when things start to go wrong in your body at some point you just have to say "enough!" It's not worth it to cut out all the things you enjoy...
Ballet - I know I'm right. I used to run a slimming club and I also had to see my daughter fall to 'Annie' and spend 3 years in a clinic due to it, not knowing if she'd choose to live or die.
oh that's awful!
Ballet, I assume you know what 'Annie' represents then?
The more I actually chat with the community here, the more I learn the rough pasts everyone has been through. It's inspiring to see you come out on the other end so well.
I had never heard the term before, Jac. But I assumed from context that it was anorexia or some other eating disorder.
Yes, ballet and you should have seen the art room at the clinic. It was effing fantastic. You would not believe what can be done to Barbie dolls, how wax hands could entwine, what could be done with barbedf wire and other metals. It was the most amazing room ever.
I'm very jealous, as an artist without a studio. :P
Art never comes from the happy and complacent. But if you're f*cked up, then comes brilliance.
i bid you all a good night and happy babbling...poink!
that's not always the case. It's just easier for those people.
the happy have to dig to find the broken and the honest hurt.
night Crossy!!
'Night, 'night, Crossy. Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite. x
lol, that reminded me of my dear departed mum....poink!
I knew that, crossy. )))Hugs(((
sadly, I have to pop off now! It's past my bedtime...
ballet, the happy can write poetry and songs, but it never resonates like the other stuff. Also, it would be a shame to force the happy to dig for the unhappy.
I'm glad to have met you, ballet, and goodnight to you.
night night Jac!
