That cat who bit me is breaking my heart. He was at the living room window crying and miaowing to come in tonight. All the lights in his house are out so he can't go home. in spring, I put out combings from the dogs for the birds to use in their many nest on our property

barely any animals here (except maybe our neighbors!), just our dogs, huge goldfish and myriad (non-exotic) birds

the monkeys are regarded as a nuisance here - they raid houses and swipe fruit and bread etc - but i enjoy them - they were here first after all and a house is just another food bearing tree to them

we have the most hospitable garden for our limited wildlife
we planted things specifically for the birds, butterflies and other insects and are happy to share our fruit with all of them
and having the fishpond gives them a water source
there is a bat cave on the cliff above the house and the bats come down and drink from the pond as well
they are beautiful and look like tiny black butterflies at dusk
we have loads of 'normal' birds and insects, lots of moles, some rabbits, the occasional hedgehog.
oh! Yes and bats. I love bats.
it's so different from the UD+S where there are foxes and coyotes right in Manhattan
mind you it is quite scary to walk into the kitchen and find a large male monkey helping himself the the bread and they are quite cheeky and have huge fangs so you just back off and let him find his way out
I am glad, sprite, I lvoe bats, too. I think it's why we have no mosquitoes
I'm not sure if I'd like to have a monkey in the house, would probably ack off, too
that'd scare me too. I think I'd wait for him to finish eating, lol.
we've had bats in the house but I am able to get them to fly out and once we had a large hawk make a mistake and wind up in the living room. I rescued her, too
she was magnificent!
oh I am glad. Raptor birds are amazing creatures.
but it's not like SA with its fabulous wildlife; the French have eaten almost everything
I held her by the shoulders and when I released her she flew straight up. It was thrilling!

and the ebooks are big items. people come in all the time for us to set them up for them. unfort. kindle hasnt reached us yet, though i hear they are working on it
the kidle is an ok device,but its limiting factor here is that it is amazon dedicated for material and it does not support e-pub files..which all the libraries here have adopted for thier e-book programmes

ru, the squash I made last night was SOOO good. even if it wasn't the real recipe. I sauteed summer squash with the shallot, garlic, onion, added tarragon, mixed it with the carmelized leeks (which were divine, you were so right)

We have a laundry in a closet. The problem is it is dark and useless and irritates me. As we are renting I am thinking of ideas which are cheap. And as it is in the closet the wall's have to be easily removable incase of needing to replace pipes

Oh Carlee you have my sympathy. My dad spent his last months at my house (hospice) and the morphine sometmes wasn't enough. Glad he hasn't suffered. Unfortunately those sounds are with me even now 8 years later.

Just the stuff in those powders can be toxic. They smell bad when open. unless it is just hot water they are just curious little beasts
