hi Sprite from Zaanstad
hi vanilla :)
I have a sister in law in Krommenie
lol! Are you kidding? That is SO close. I live in Koog aan de Zaan. Only one small village in between.
I stayed at her place as a kid before she married my brother who dies later and she went back home
am sorry he passed away. But nice to know you know the area :)
fished in the river across from her home
remember going past the chocolate factory in Zaandaam boy did that stink
doesn't it just! Am glad we are usually upwind from it.
so it still stinks??
oh yes. Both the chocolate factory and the cocoa producing factories.
she now lves just down from the station we stayed with her three years ago. My brother was 29 when he died a long time ago and they had two little girls
She came here to marry him so thats why she immediately decided to go back. Never married agin
WOW its a small world in Babbleland. xxx to Sprite and Vanilla
well if you ever come visiting again, pls let me know.
hey dizgrannie :)
great. May not be for a while because my wife is not very mobile

{{sprite}}
I should put a dog sedative in his aperitif!
or tell him no, hun
yep just tell him no you are his wife not his slave
hear hear Kallia.
"I'll be with you in 30 minutes with coffee" is a perfectly ok answer
it's what I tel lmy DH when he gets 'needy' lol
he's not really just occassionally
indeed it is Sprite
I am very happy my love and I are not having that kind of relationship.
this is annoying, because I just sat down after picking blackberries for a half hour and I'm very sticky and my back hurts!!!! whine whine whine
me too.....it is more a jokey thing
don't whine, stand up for yourself :)
well STAY sitting Ruby....you don't need to be at his beck and call
no no, I meant I'm whining to the chog, as usual. I just ignore him!
very good
and you of course are going to have to do something with those blackberries....
I don't mind that, I make fruit salad for him and jelly for me
they are gorgeous!
good ignore him a bit more...he will get used to it
I love blackberries
exactly... and when he is very na5 when you go to him, you can tell him you will be back as soon as he is behaving more respectful towards you. Would do miracles for the relation.
I love the jelly, but the seeds are annoying (except when I eat them as I pick)
anyway... fireflies. Nice grid, but with some uncommon words.
we also have huge ripe tomatoes now
amazing, sprite. I have 58 words in 13 minutes!
wd Sprite....I have 107 left nbt
I am off, I need to pack. We go home today (YAY) but before we can leave, there is very much to do.
training, rubyfoo, lol. I've been at this for quite some years.

hello, all. I got a call yesterday from my mother, who will have her 78th birthday on August 8, one day after my parents' 58th anniversary. A few weeks ago, my mom was having some unexplained internal bleeding, and she had some testing done. She had a colonoscopy, and it was found she has colon cancer. Surgery will be tomorrow morning. Prayers are welcome.
oh no angel... am so sorry... sending prayers...

its very scary for u am sure angel, the knowing all the possibilities and not knowing ....{{hugs}}
i gotta try for sleep again... i only got an interrupted 2 hours.. andi have busy days ahead...
hi, all. My mother, who will have her 78th birthday on August 8, and her 58th anniversary on August 7, is having surgery tomorrow morning for colon cancer. Prayers welcomed.

Ah, thank you Annie. : )
Morning Sue.
hi uu
positive thoughts and prayers with Angel and her Mom right now (just came on and was reading back a bit)
yes, hugs to carlee and angel!
Hi
hi, herin!
How you?
ok, herin, not looking forward to yet another really hot day
:(
I just took 4 panadol's to get rid of a head ache.
but I AM looking forward to visiting my dad next week - my son and I are going to drive out to see him :-)
gaaahh i hate headaches, have started having trouble with them myself again
hope you feel better soon!!
Much better
I had a back massage before
oh, good.
ooh,I would love a massage...they are SOOOOO nice!!!
Well my brain was trying to leave my head all day
yuck, I know the feeling :-(
I did go to my neighbours for a chat today that was nice
wish I knew my neighbors better...
I was in the bathroom and I get a ''HEY what you doing from across the fence
Her little girl didn't want me to go home. It was rather cute.
OK, that would be a little weird
I was cleaning.
ah,kids are so much fun! my neighbors on both sides are quite elderly (older than me, even!)
ok, that's better :-)
He kid is in grade 3 she is a little demanding but cute.
that's a good age - they are still cute but starting to mature a little
Yes
It was nice to go and have a chat with someone other than myself
indeed!
And my house work got done
wish my housework would get done! i suppose I could do it myself although you'd think that the people who are home all day could do it...
No kidding Sue. I've never understood that home all day and no housework done thing. : )
No. It takes discipline and 15 min
I am home all day and it is one of those things. It is only takes 15 min at a time.
Oh, discipline. That's probably it.
I right to do lists. Today I had 4 things on there I did only 2.
My friend has a day off with her kids and not only does she spend time with them, but laundry gets done, vacuuming gets done and the house gets tidied up. Her husband has a day off with the kids and video games get played and TV gets watched.
Fly lady system is good
I should do that. Maybe once classes start and I have more of a schedule (I'm going to work anyway even though I am only paid for one of the three summer months, as there are administrative things to do and lectures to write...)
oh, I like flylady, although I am still on the "polish your sink" step
http://www.flylady.net/. I tend to ignore the products but find that the concepts are great
I'm still at "Get dressed to shoes" step.
Meh. I don't bother with the sink thing. I tend to do that once a month. I just need to get on to my todo lists.
I don't wear shoes in the house. Mine is put a bra and house clothes on.
Hi Bzz
Morning al.
hi, bea!
My sink gets cleaned with Comet. I don't get the concept of "polishing" it.
Morning Bea.
well, I do the dishes and swipe the sinks, which counts as polishing in my book
I do the sink about once a month the proper polish thing. I use car polish
If I clean the sink, Hubs always decides that is a day to paint/poly and clean the brushes in the sink.
The kitchen and bathroom are fairly clean and awesome as I can't stand either area being nasty.
I agree Herin. Dirty kitchens and bathrooms creep me out.
And Bea, yes. Men have some inner drive to muck up a clean sink. I think it's a primal instinct.
my bathroom is a construction site (has been for years, I can't afford to finish it) so it is hard to keep clean (it gets dusty very quickly)
Bathrooms are a def no no in grot zone
My entire house is a construction sight. <sigh>
Sue what needs doing?
ceiling has a hole in it where the room was expanded (there used to be a wall there) and one outside wall is unfinished, also the new part doesn't have a proper floor, just plywood
Erk.
We have an old house and it is a pain in the butt dust wise
what it really needs is a total makeover, new fixtures, new floor, finished walls and ceiling, but that will be many thousands of dollars and I am broke
living room is in a similar condition, and my kitchen has no countertops, just plywood
my house was built in 1892, so I understand about old houses :-)
Sue you can use Habitate for humanity
it is called Restore
no, I make too much money - trouble is we took out large short-term (15-year) loans to pay for the work that's already been done and the payments are killing me
afternoon everyone
but the first mortgage will be paid off in another 7 years so then things will ease up - also my son will be out of college by then
hi, katie!
No no no. I mean the place is called ReStore. Apparently it is great for bargins. Same as Ikea.
HI katie
oh, right, there is one of those not far from us (meaning under an hour's drive). Will check it out.
http://www.habitat.org/restores/ This
Have you seen the Ikeahacker website?
I have not (there is an Ikea about an hour from here as well)
http://www.ikeahackers.net/ this. It is how you make things Ikea but different. I use it as an inspiration
and http://signedbytina.blogspot.com/ I hope to do: http://tinyurl.com/3ctjogu this
hey, herin, I watched the tiny URL you posted yesterday re animal rescuers -- VERY sweet! :-)
Ikea is great if you can get stuff you need as in the AsIs section.
ANd so true Ine
Une
Sue I was at Ikea the other day and this man got a massive kitchen bench and shelves for $25
morning all
((Carlee))

longest was 6:30 to 8:30 this am
It must feel surreal, Kat.
{{{{{{carlee}}}}}}}}
O Scrabbler. I tell you these Fates need a kick in the ass
Sue I hope my links help
Scrabbs, I am still praying for the other children and will add Dara to the list...I wish the higher power would leave children alone
yea... a bit... i watched alot of video online of dad last night....i felt like if i turned it off it meant he was gone..was afraid to close my eyes..and was afraid to turn it off..around 2 i finally did...i turned on a jack benny...i think i listened to 6 jack benny episodes through the night
yes, thanks, herin! I was off enjoying them...
and a got a chunk of the grid done...

i ate at about 3:30 this morning too
How are your kids, Kat?
( there are actually 5 at that link sue... there are 5 pieces )
taylor is fine.justine is angry
( if u skip over to fb...i can explain why she is mad... both herin and sue know but for others not "chatting" i dont want it public )
I totally understand
carlee, so very sorry to hear of your dad. my heart goes out to you.
yes, I haven't had time to listen to all of them, carlee, but it is music I love!
thank you eva
scrabbs, I know that G-d has nothing to do with the scourge of cancer but I felt better "saying" that
anyway, time to do a little exercise, bbs
Later SUe
Hi Eva
Annie, it is so hard to understand. It doesn't "make sense." Why would an all-powerful, all-loving G-d allow it?
Hi Eva + Sue
Scrabbler I did read this wonderful thing about how the Fates knit out our lives and sometimes they cut the string really small or it is knotted and that makes them sad
scrabbs, I asked the same thing about the holocaust. He watches over us and gives us the strength to endure.
in many faiths Scrab's it is not for us to question God's actions or motives it is to accept his tests of faith and know He loves us and has a master plan... is how I make it through day to day
It is so hard to be patient, to wait to understand the WHY, and maybe we will never understand.
I am reminded of Harold Kushner's book "When Bad Things Happen To Good People".
wow, already have NBT and NBS. guess i should work on the halfway pint, then...
that is where faith comes in... i dont question, i accept is what God wants for me for His reason and i deal with best as i can and when it is too much i pray to God that He help me and i place the problem into His hands to carry the burden... and for me...it helps
Yes,how can God be all 3: all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-loving and allow such suffering?
Scrabbler how is the other little one now?
Eva, are you knocking back pints this early in the day? : P
Little One--heart surgery back on 5/20--is doing very well!
just a halfway pint, molly...heh
((((Carlee))))) My condolences on the passing of your dad
scrabbs, good to hear
Scrabs, it must be difficult for you to deal with sick children all the time.
good morning everyone
thank you {{mom}}
Good morning. ((carlee))
(((Mom))) good morning
hi car.ee {{hugs}}
Hi Mom
((Annie)) good morning.
hi car. :)
Scrabbler, good morning. Long time since I have seen you. Hope all is well

Molly, it is not frequent, but it sure is tragic.
Hi Annie.
I amdoing well, Mom & Car.
Carlee...I left you a note on FB, but you know to call if you need anything.
u sounded like u had a lovely vacation scrabs
Yes, and I go back to the Adirondack Mtns in 3 wks for my last summer vacation.

Horrible but necessary task. I wish I was there to go with you.

Molly...I left you a message on FB too. Thank you for posting that poem. I first heard it at my Grammie's service.
i also need a new house phone...and as i am going for an iftar dinner tomorrow...i will buy anew scarf to go with a galabeya that my girlfriend brought back for me from egypt that i plan on wearing...as she is hosting the iftar tomorrow
Hi Mom and anyone I missed. BRb
It's a nice way to think of the fact that while we are sad to see someone pass, others are glad to welcome them home.
((Herin)) good morning
Car, here is a multigrain bagel, lightly toasted, with a small amount of butter.
Carlee...if appropriate...I would love to see a picture of that outfit! I bet you look GORGEOUS in it!
thanks scrabs... i appreciate it :)
Thank you very much Scrabs!
off to google iftar and galabeya
Oops...looks like we are sharing again Carlee!
hahaha...we shall see... i look pretty dreaful atm....i tend to very dark racoonish circles when am sleep deprived
I know...not really a good time for pics....
iftar is the meal u break your fast with at ramadan...galabeya is a middle eastern dress
sorry car..i scooped ur bagel...my bad
thanks Carlee, just read about it on google. The galabeyas are very pretty
( as i helpout at the international dinners.....the ladies always invite me to iftars when they are the ones hosting...the first oen i am going to is tomorrow )
mine is navy blue with gold stitching and a very retty emroidered rose pattern
sounds lovely
Ooooh...an 5/14...one of my favorite words!
Goodness carlee! Stunning!
( actually i have 2..i have another that is maroon with almost a tie dye ishness to the fabric..and gold on it as well )
they both sound lovely, carlee!
they work well as a dble for hallowe'en costumes as i hate dressing for hallowe'en....throw on a galabeya... toss on a head scarf...some jewellery ...good to go
Sue! Good morning!
good morning uusue
I have a weird diet-thing to share with you.
Hi. Sorry arguing with laptop
hi, car! just back from doing my 8 minutes of exercise...
Hello Herin!
what, car?
Oh Herin...I feel your pain...have had the blue screen twice in the last 24 hours....
and hi, mom!
Mine decided to update on its own and had a mental all day today
Well, all of a sudden, I am thinner. Have not been following diet or exercising, but went to try on shorts and I had to go to a 16 (was previously at a 20 at the beginning of the year). And my tops are now really loose.
Caree, the yoga word or the upset word?
Teenage an5....for some reason it sounds so dramatic and I love it!
A couple of stress producing "in the hospital" days will do that to you Caree.
wow, car, that is great!!!
And Zack hugged me the other night and said, "look Mom! I can get my arms all the way around you!"...but I think he is growing and that is why.
Wow Car
I am also comfortably a 16 now although that is just one size, still it is nice
I am actually wearing tank tops that aren't clinging to every roll of my tummy.
car. that is great :)
Wow, Car! How did that happen?
and that is great about Zack, car! (my son doesn't hug me that tightly any more...)
As I said, my goal is to just be able to shop in "regular" stores again so I have more choices.
woohoo!!!! that is very cool car.ee
wonderful news for the both of you
ooh, I stay away from tank tops - my arms are not something I want anyone to see -
I think I will go with it, get myself back to the Y and I bought all sorts of salad stuff at the grocery.
I usually only wear them in the privacy of my own home, but I actualy wore one out the other day!
car. keep up the good work
I actually wore a Tank top today under a cardi. Which was a bit of a shock
But heres the kicker...when I went to my PCP...on their scale, which I have weighed myself on before and it matches my home scale perfectly....I was up in my weight a few pounds.
Nice Herin!
brb
well, that is quite an incentive, car! keep up the good work!!!
Sue, on your drive from Illinois to NJ will you come through western NY state?
we could, scrabs!
It is still winter here though
sue...will u be passing through canada as a short cut or going under lake erie?
can't go through Canada, carlee, we don't have passports :-(
I live 35 mi southeast of Buffalo.
Would love to visit you all
Take a tour of the US, herin.
sure, we could take I-90, scrabs - send me an email, uusuzanne at yahoo dot com, and we'll see if we can work it out
Would love to.
Herin...how cold does it get in the winter there?
and i dont have mine yet so i cant scoot over to meet up for lunch somewhere
Party at Scrabs house!
Time to get busy. ((Hugs)) to all of you

Good grief...all sorts of technical difficulties at this end. Good bye my friends!

That cy8 is an odd word.

ct8 = a star-shaped figue appearing in a cell during mitosis, consisting of a centrosphere and threads radiating from it.

I have cookie dough in the freezer calling my name
lol herin
yep! - that'll work!
last time i did home made choc chip cookies,i used a bit too much butter and it all spread across the cookie sheet during baking and i ended up with a single giant choc chip cookie:/
That isn't a bad thing cross
so of course i grabbed the pizza cutter and we were set to go!
Dang straight
I use a Toll House Cookie recipe for my cookies
Mmmmm. Cookies.
Hi Judi
Step away from the dough, Herin.
I haven't moved. If I do the cat will jump
crossy has, home fries are cut and sizzling in a buttered pan with secret herbs and spices getting all crunchy and golden brown for brekkies
Heaven forbid.

how is your colesterol? lol all theses brown eggs are jumbo double yolkers right from the farm up the road
40 mgs of Zocor a day keeps the cholesterol away. That and some fish oil.
crossy never bguys eggs from the grocery store
my colesterol is fine as i have never had it tested..life is easy eh? lol
One of the vendors at our farmers market sells blue and brown eggs. They are delicious. All different sizes. Had one double yolker in the last dozen.
P.S. Crossy - you should now be cooking in the PB. Ta5/10 violation I'm afraid.
hi again, all!
B.f used to get the double yolker eggs all the time as a kid. They were ''rejected' and his parents would get them all the time
actually i was cornered at the last doc visit for the wife.we have both been ordered to have full physical next month:(
howdy sue!
just to repeat what I said earlier - we will be driving from IL to NJ and back next week, if anyone wants a drop-in visit, write me at uusuzanne at yahoo dot com!
Hi Sue.
lol. The double-yolker I had was huge. The carton wouldn't close tight because of it.
Spot the Grammatical error:AUSSIE tots are failing to grasp the basics of tooth brushing
and hi, crossy, unfortunately we can't go into canada as we don't have passports :-(
Felt sorry for the hen.
nice:))...mmmm,good dippin egg
and i was going to put brekkies on for you
and hi again herin! can't drop by Australia either although that would be fun = I have never been there
Shouldn't that be "teeth brushing" ?
maybe next time, crossy:-)
Yes Judi it should This is from a major paper too. This sort of thing drives me nuts
AUSSIE shouldn't be in all caps :-)
Oh Lord. Don't ever look at our paper, Herin. Every day there are numerous grammatical felonies.
It is in caps as it is a heading.
It is the tooth thing I have issue with. Seriously we have one tooth or many teeth. The kids in the photo have teeth.
OK, I must be REALLY distracted - I almost forgot to eat my breakfast!!
Well I am going to go to bed and try not to disturb a kitty in the process. he is asleep on the bean bag at my feet and he is very jumpy
night, herin! Hope the kitty stays asleep!
I doubt it. I think he will probably follow me followed by protests of yips and howls when i go to bed
Interesting picture of Vesta, uusue. I believe that is NASA's next destination - for asteroid landing.
Herin - I honestly think the editors of our paper are a bunch of 7 year olds. They even botch major headlines on a regular basis. Evidence of the poor public school system in Delaware I guess.
There is an orbiter closing in on it now, Judi; I don't know if a landing is planned but we should be getting ever more detailed pictures over the next few months.
tooth brushing is grammatically acceptable.... but it's usually hyphenated.
One thing I hadn't realized until I started dealing with the press is that the person who writes the article doesn't write the headline - even on our student paper. This can lead to some real howlers, especially if the headline writer hasn't read the article carefully, or doesn't understand it
One funny little news item error has kept me smiling for years.... Article was telling of a young woman who had suffered extensive burns, and was now going through "skin graph" treatments. Of course, the spell check would not pick up on that !!
Hmm. Wonder if they were using bar or pie graphs for her???
LOL.... can't you just conjure up a mental picture ???
When I was the president of our faculty senate, I encouraged members to attend the university president's state of the university speech, as he had some important announcements that he had been waiting to make - the headline said "Faculty Senate President Says University President is Withholding Information"!
*face palm* Hilarious, but tragic at the same time.
My favorite newspaper typo was a real estate ad that gave an extensive description of the property...vaulted ceilings, finished basement, hardwood flooring, state of the art kitchen, huge dick...
We had Amy Parks present at AAMI PARK it was dang funny
LOL!
lol
are you sure it was a house or was it a condominium molly?
hi ruru!
Down to 75. Time for a break. BBL. *POOF*
One of the first moves any publisher made when they decided to cut back was to fire the proof readers. I've gotten to the point where I proof as I go but a real pain the butt if yu have kids! How do you explain that a "grownup" made a mistake!

ty uusue. 2 left.
No, diane, they exist in several Russian cities
thx, diane! I have been there and it is sort of a small city so maybe that's why it's not a proper noun (may be a general term rather than the name of a specific place)
like erda says :-)
I thought the same thing about the kr Diane.
it has another meaning.... a heaven of sorts
Good morning - how is it you can have reheel, but not retoe?

Hi Peri
Hi, Peri! My dad lives in Millington (north central, near Morristown)
ah - got molly's words, finally :-)
ok, nowhere near me just thought I would ask. would love to meet you
Where are you, peri?
(I mean, New Jersey isn't THAT big!)
I am outside Phila in PA

hi all
hi, carlee! how are you doing?
tired but ok
spent the day shopping and now that i am home i hate my outfit
{{{{{carlee}}}}}
so i have to take it back
it looks like something y mother would wear
oh, bummer :-(
i like the skirt..love it actually its the jacket and top
and i frigging HATE shopping
is a navy blue trumpet skirt
me too, especially for clothes
so you can keep the skirt and just find a better top, right? lots of things should go with navy
Ah! Kindred women who hate shopping. There are not many of us.
its matching the navies
What's wrong with the jacket?
i just....it looks like somehting my mother or step mother would wear
not me
maybe you could get something in a pattern that has the navy in it? then it wouldn't have to be exact
How about a vest instead of a jacket?
i really dont want..pattern...i want solid..i'd love to find a nice linen tunic...
3/4 sleeve
long lines...
or something a line that falls nicely
A-Line*
sounds like you really know what you want - now the hard part is finding it...
yeap...that the hard part
and i need shoes..and this town sucks for shoes
I REALLY hate shopping for shoes - much worse than clothes for me (I have strange feet)
I'm so pathetic when it comes to shoes. I went through six pair that I have before I decided on the right ones for a recent dressy appointment.
i know what i want..but MY DAUGHTER bought them first
You're the Mother. Make her take them back. : P
can't you get the same ones? I can't imagine that anyone will look at your feet that closely (but then I have absolutely zero fashion sense)
Oh I couldn't do that. I don't have a daughter, but my girlie-in-law and I would never show up at the same event with the same shoes on. Nope.
exactly...cant do that
<--- obviously a fashion moron
Girlie and I are still wondering about a family member who recently wore the same dress to both her step-sons weddings.
well, dresses are different, they are so much more obvious
today,i had to buy a 100!!! dollar pair of walking shoes! i am wearing right through pairs of 30 dollar big box store shoes at the rate of one pair every 2 months,so i had to do something
anyway...i will take the skirt with me....and hopefully get someone in the younger store..sympathetic to my situation..and go top searching
I used to spend $100 on running shoes; they would last me about 6 months but I was running about 30 miles per week
The younger store?
good luck, carlee!!!
Hi
P.s Shopping is evil. I do ever thing online then go to the store
hi, herin!
hi herin
Howdy. Got to love a 7:30am wake up call
Carlee that your son of FB phoro?
yeap...that is my son
I feel your pain herin, sitting on train on way to work at 730Am now, I can think of things I'd rather be doing
( mym mum there too sitting )
Very Spiffy Carlee.
Sparks were are you located?
he is rather handsome if i do say so
SA right now
You?
Melbourne.
Watching Today and refusing to turn to 7 as I do not need to throw things at the tv
Are your trains busy there too?
we are friends herin, you can use my babble name lol
Standing room only, really frustrating that they won't add extra carriage
We just have trains cancelled on my line. I am so grateful I am not working at the moment.
must visit there sometime herin..i should get 20% off anything city wide:)
It is YUK Cross.
Ew hate that! We had a line closure for upgrade for 4 months and I have to admit, I much prefer train to bus. It was awful
:(( do not like a city using my name being a mess:(
AWWW Crossie
Did I just scare everyone off too
i am still here herin.....
i probably did:)
Nah, I'm not scared. Lol
busy txting with my daughters best friend about the outfit..she liked it..everyone liked it...i jsut...dont...
then return it,life is too short to worry bout what you do not like.then get something that makes you feel good
Gotta go at station now. Have a good day/evening all.
tc sparks
O Carlee. It isn't good if you don/t like it. Bye Sparks have a great day
so my son texted me at 4:36 saying that he is on campus, has the car, will be leaving soon, and his phone is almost dead. I texted him back telling him to pick me up when he leaves. Question: Should I give up on him and walk home (note that the temp is 90F with a humidity index of 107F), or wait, assuming that he will show up sooner or later?
if he got the mssg, then wait
how far a walk?
but I don't know if he got the message, his phone might have died
a mile
Sue that is a tricky one
ahh,that is nothing..walk it
I would survive but be hot and crabby
walk the route he would drive on
grab a bottle of water from vending machine...
if it was five miles,i would of said wait
not sure which way he would drive (that's the trouble with living in a flat place)
but one mile?? 15 min tops
no cash for water but I have a bottle
How the heck does a fat cat run so fast.
also we are supposed to go to a ball game at 7. Probably I should leave. See you all later!!!
i am 6ft 2 in and have a long stride herin:)
though not quite a fat cat:)
i like to think of myself as "fluffy" :)
u can do 1 mi in 20 mins at a stroll....other day i did 3.5 with the dog in 1 hour 15 mins and was 90+ out
Hi Everybody
howdy nef:)
Hi Nef
<--- also fluffy but short, and with bad knees, can't go too fast. but will get there. bbl.
My dang cat was eating the other cat's food. I just busted her and she bolted faster than I could get her
hi nef
your 2 cats are always sharing bowls
our
u just dont catch them
my cats share 3 bowls
(((Carlee))) My condolences.
thanks nef :)
No they have separate bowls she is a pig. I thought it was her as she sounds different to him. They are even different spot,s different types of bowls. I need to bell one of them but that isn't going to work
how is this grid? Is it worth starting (it looks huge to me right now; and I can't sit here too long yet)
i started at 1 am babble time....and i am not working on it...not ever 1/2 way
I got to 114 left
I think it has been a difficult one.
And the cats that live here now both seem to steal each others' food (even though the one has a sensitive stomach!)
But Pandora is turning into Jabba the cat
well, I started already. I have no hope of finishing this grid; but it should help me get the brain cells working again.
Nef, how is your hip?
it's getting better each day, Molly. I have the post-op pain; but at least it's only a muscular pain and I know that it is getting better each day (as opposed to the pre-op pain!)
Nef it is good to see you here.
good news nef :)
Good to hear Nef. So glad you finally got the surgery done. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
thanks. The doctor took the dressings off yesterday and the stitches came out. He's says I'll have very little scarring since it's healing so well (but you still won't catch me in a bikini!)
Awwwww Nef.
Nef, bikinis are highly overrated. Unless your are a hormonal adolescent boy.
my physical therapist is really a task-master too! She wants me to work harder each time (but she did tell me that I need to in order to preserve my function for the rest of my life. SO I do what she tells me and then an extra couple of each exercise each time
No they are over rated full stop.
That's good Nef. Determination like that will help you heal.
I agree, herin. I find that a lot of one piece bathing suits are cut too high these days too
I always wore boy leg style bathers except with school sport. I actually found a pair of my size 10 racer shorts the other day. Smart alec DH actually asked if I wore them
what was your response to that, herin?
The one eye brow look. That and I told him they were shorts that I wore one size smaller than normal as I don't like bathers that are loose (lose)
sa 5/10 plz
Kris Kringle with a different vewel ending
Or vowel
Thanks didn't have that
ty molly
does anyone have the ag7/40?
ag + vowel + you put coins in a parking ****r

Which ma 5/12?
ma5 rhymes with electronic police weapon

Welcome to Babble, R.Sparks. We love newbies here! :-)
Oops, you said the first one. A slave is ruled by his ma6. Leave out the middle consonant.
Sparks you doing this on the sly at work?
ty bzz, and molly
yw
herin, your icon looks so calming
Just stopped for coffee at cafe lol wanted more words. My boss makes me bring her the puzzle to look at now too. We're all word lovers.
Nef that is one I took at Russell Falls.
We're hopeless what can i say.
At least you can't be told off for doing this :D
it's beautiful. Makes me relax just to look at it (and it looks nice and cool too. It's way too hot here right now!)
You can't swim in it though (too cold)
I have taken various sizes for the thought of putting it on canvas
Exactly! I'm trying to squeeze out a few more before I have to go in, but I'm still not too good at this. Only have 70 words atm.
I only have 36 so far, R.Sparks. I don't care if I finish these days; it's the joy of the search
Coffee is good unless it is Gloria Jeans.
herin, do you paint? I'd love to see this on canvas!
No I don't paint but you can get images onto canvas
I totally agree, I just enjoy the calmness of this game. Rest of the day is not quiet at all so curling up with my xoom and babble is good regardless of score.
BRB, gotta move a bit
Today is the day of a funeral of a really nice guy. I didn't know him too well but he was really nice. A lot of a freak but lovely
:( sorry to hear that herin.
He fought the good fight but it was too much. The chapel will hold about 200 but I have a feeling that will be too small
I'm sure the service will be lovely. Sounds like he was very loved and will be missed
Right I'm off for "real" this time. Back to the old grind. Thanks for the help.
OK, I am home - wound up walking to the music building, got there just as the kid was leaving, so he drove me home. (I know you were all worried :-)
te 618 plz, first one
herin, so sorry to hear that :-(
back. (Gotta get the kinks out every so often). orry to hear that, herin.
te6 - rhymes with weasel like pet
Thanks. Sue good timing
ty bzzn
O Sparks he will be missed. He was a true gentle giant.
Sue, just read your update on your Dad. What is with her, anyway?
(And you sure have added a lot of Physics Babblets lately! :-D
Thanks Nef
hi, nef, I have no idea what she is thinking - she is just desperate to get divorced before she dies. crazy.
mmmm..crossy made spegatinni al dente with a sauce made with sweet italian sausage, peppers and onions and grated provalone on top instead of parm and mini garlic loafs with garlic butter ,basil, oregano and other secret spices and a simple greek salad with feta, black olives and croutons and a light dressing
yummy, crossy!
Yum Cross
sounds good crossy!
and I have been adding physics babblets whenever I find them, including today!
see? crossy can also cook for the vegetarians:)
well..other than the sausages...well crossy tried...:/
crossy, that sounds delicious.
indeed nef:) the sausage cannot be too spicy, but just enough to give a mouth tingle
we're having a pork loin roast that my Aunt brought last week (it's been in the freezer); pasta and fresh garden veggies (my DH is fixing it)
and for us older folk,i do the garlic loaf a tad softer bottom and crunchy on top so we do not end up with sore gums from scarfing all that garlic bread and melted cheese;)
sounds good nef;)
we had a free-for-all. LOVE doing that!
Left overs here or what ever I feel like cooking
Cross did you put butter on that garlic bread
we're going to a baseball game, so I am anticipating hot dogs :-)
a pork loin roast is perfect to make jamacian pulled pork in da slow cokker:)..on of my speciualties
garlic butter,,no cows were killed so good for vegetarians
phantom: terror
Butter is the best. I hate garlic margarine that is yuk
bulb killer!!!!!!!
when cooking,i always use real butter, for sandwiches and fast stuff a good marg will do
when i do use marg,i use one with a buttermilk base
and i use ground garlic in da jar and not garlic powder
am I the only one annoyed by this grid? crossy, why not the garlic press?
faux bulb killer!!!!!!!
i can get a 1 lit jar of over 300 full cloves for 5 dollars and it keeps forever
Ohhhhhh...that's pretty dang easy!
1/2 tsp = 2 garlic cloves
since it is packed in garlic oil,i can store it anywhere
Hi Champ and Ru
hi herin!
so close phantom orgasm
I use Garlic crushed in a jar and get the cheapest one there is as it is all garlic and hardly any water
and there is rheostat as a nice phantom
mine phantom is isle and islet
that is what i use
Shirlockc I like your phantom better than mine!
Mine is Realm

Good grief I have nearly 50gig of podcasts.

herin, you need to start listening to them!
hi ruru
I do. I use them on my iphone. I love free music especially living in Aus and importing is a nightmare
Champ PLEASE take our rain! I'm feeling waterlogged and moldy these days (and the humidity sucks too!)
It is winter here and yesterday I was strolling about in a singlet and Cardi
Can't even imagine! If you could see the dead trees (looks like Fall), and lakes with sand bars , and it was 100 degrees with 98% humidity today!!!
ugh
I broke a sweat walking to my car, in a sleeveless top and capris. Just disgusting. And the forecast is for 100 or more all week...no rain to be seen.
I couldn't take that
Champ was it relatively warm before the 21 June?
Absolutely. Started in May.
I know we avoid politics here, but is anyone else as depressed about the "debt deal" as I am?
Kap, I can't even watch the bull@#$%^ anymore!
we are having a very wet and humid summer here. I'm really homebound because it's just too hot to be outside in this weather
That is why.
Ok, let's talk about climate change.
Yeah...I'm just holding out and hoping it'll be ok by September. KAP!!!
Everyone said I was barking mad when about 2 weeks before Solstice I said that if this is the indication before Solstice winter will be mild
Yes, please change it to be a little cooler here.
Kap, 10 years ago we had a balanced budget.
We are soooooooooooooo screwed.
In other news, fun board today?
And the climate was perfect! :)
I for one, am less than thrilled with the board today. Not going to finish...
10 years ago- all we had to worry about was terrorism.
I've found that a good balance of fun and time-saving is to get 90% of the words and then finish off with Lickety's list
Yes...keep trying to hold out on the list. LOVE expert to finish.
I don't remember much of my early 20's and that was 10 years ago argh
*Pours Kap a consoling glass of whatever she drinks*
I'm into the red vino...lovely! Grid? What grid?
tough day for NBT, I guess - took several minutes to get that C
I only found it with the benefit of help from the chog.
I figured it had to be a word with the cell prefix, but I thought it would use all four letters of that
Tried the prefix, but hadn't checked the list so didn't know I was looking for a biggie.
Speaking of which, apparently I need 2 more 8's. Have the c and the g...hints?
kr7 kind of like my name, then plural
re8
bbl; gotta move (and go eat too)
thanks all!
Great clue on that Grem
What is teh Re 9
opps 8 sorry
re + ma6
Stupdendous clue!
Cheers
ty gremlinn
can someone clue the c, i think i know what it should be, but i'm just not spelling it right
cell prefix, star suffix
cy + a person who samples food
thx molly, it's NOT what i thought it would be so wouldn't have got it
It's a bizarre word Shirl.
that would be because it's a goofy word!
i thought it was something like cytoses
Ah, we are all in agreement. Cheers!
I think a lot of us were going for that cell/cyto thing.
Hey, does anyone want to feel ancient? MTV is thirty-years-old. : O
I know! I have to tell my kids all the time...
hey all -- I remember watching MTV when I was babysitting one summer. It's the only thing that kid wanted to do... watch MTV. *sigh*
MTV...pong...don't get me started!
TI calculators...
oooh! PACMAN!!!!!
*Goes to get hairspray to style up some big 80's hair*
Remember audio cassettes?
Hi Stid
Don't forget the comb to make it super big!!!
*stage whisper* (mullets and mohawks)
We still have a fully working Atari here
Remember them? I still have some.
remember 8-track? (I do)
Yes to the 8 track Stid!!!
I had an 8track in my bug
Never had 8 track in our house
Molly still has a mullet??? *innocent mama look*
Yes, but it feels more like we're in the future when we can reminisce about things that aren't all that old!
very cool, axelady!
I had a cassette player in my car. I did have a cell phone early on, and it was attached to a huge battery pack.
Like, "ooh, I remember when games came on DVDs. What puny little discs!"
gotcha gremlinn. It's just funny to me!
my car has a cassette player still. it's an '01
I remember 8-inch "floppy disks"
Really dc? I thought by then they were all gone. Amazing.
No Mullet Stid. Think big Tawny Kitaen hair. And only if I sprayed it up 80's style.
The Wedding Singer!!!
My old '99 car had a cassette player.
LOL Molly!
I still love the t-shirt C:Dos/run Run Dos run
could never pull off the big hair
oh lady -- I have never seen it! *giggle* I want one now!
Our car still has a cassette player which is great for the ipod
I still have a truntable and all my records. My youngest kept trying to play them from the center out. She kept putting the needle in the middle.
An ipod plays through a cassette player???
turntable i really can type
we have a couple turntables -- tom is an audiophile
knew what you meant
my dad is an electronics feind and I got his genes
i used to be an audiophile, then some sweet young thing of 25 asked me what 8-track tapes were and i got depressed
I give up. Just ignore my spelling and typing tonight
How old can I be and not be familiar with 8-track tapes?
Crud...they were out up to the early 80's. I don't remember when they phased out.
My older two are 30 and 31 and they know what 8-tracks are.
I'm 35 and never had any. But I didn't even buy music until around the time I started college.
By then, CDs were pretty common.
Stid: http://tinyurl.com/3upmdss
Grem you are 1 year older than I am
They never had any either. They know about them from me. Just like I know about 78RPM records from my parents.
the bulk of my music were on vynal and cassettes
You don't remember 78's Molly? I do.
I think my parents didn't have any - just lots of turntable records.
You can get a cassette tape that goes into the car stereo that has a lead from it with a headphone jack. That jack goes into the iphone
That is cute, lady! thanks!
I remember 78s... and 33 1/3s too...
I just mentioned 78's Champ.
I still have my turntable and LPs
My folks even had a tape recorder that was reel-to-reel. I could thread it before I turned 5.
and 45,s that we got for 99 cents and the record shoppe:)
Me too stid! Molly, saw that but thought you knew about them more from parents, like your kids know 8 tracks.
oh -- and 45s!
Cover art was so much better on albums.
I still have an old projector in our cupboard and film
herin: I think I had something like that. It was a cassette that I could use to use my portable CD player in the car.
reel-to-reels were amazing..i still know how to splice tape
I decorated my walls with all my album covers.
yes it was molly
We didn't have 8 tracks growing up just cassettes which still work to this day
i can still hear the 8-tracks now changing channels...ka-CHUNK!
And they were so big!!! Chunk one at someone and take 'em out!
And as I recall, they had some art on them too.
Trivia: apparently, the first recording of a song may have been a ten second bit of the folk song "Au Clair de la Lune" on April 9, 1860, on a phonautograph.
THEY DID INDEED
I love my LP's
crossy misses his lp,s
First of all, remember video stores? Now, remember when they had two sections, VHS and BETA?
Cross why dont you get them out of the basement?
OMG Beta I so remember that. I still have my VCR's
do any of you remember close and plays for kids
I had one!!
i should, but i married a woman who grew up listening to never ending news -talk radio and hates the audio way of life:(
cool me too
BAH to that
I think we held off and went VHS
crossy had a beta machine and a video disk machine
I remember my very very first CD
who was it lady
Pink Floyd The Wall. Berlin concert.
my first cd was dire straits-brothers in arms
1984
I would have been about 15 or 16 at the time.
Oh I can top that. My first 45 was "Sugar" by The Archies. Ahahahahahaha!
I also remember when I got my very first SMS too
Ahhhh Honey-Honey!
my first 45 was 1-2-3 redlight by the 1910 fruit gum comapny lol
What can I say? I was 10.
My first LP was Beatrix Potter stories and I was under 4 at the time.
I can't remember what my first was. I had a lot of the Carpenters though...
caren carpenter..starving herself to death:(
I was very into bad pop music until I discovered Credence Clearwater Revival.
Sad. Such a pretty voice!
Or Creedence
my first was air supply
ccr rocks!
My brothers and I were reminiscing just this past weekend about bands we'd seen in concert. Fun thinking about it!
First concert was Red Hot Chilli Peppers. First alone concert was Marilyn Manson
Ah...Lost In Love...
hi folks
Mine was Ted Nugent, Def Leppard and the Scorpions. This was when the drummer for Def Leppard still had both arms.
First band I ever saw in concert was The Doobie Brothers. 10th row seats, what a show!
okay, time to get back to cataloging books. Back later maybe... (((Hugs all))) (my first rock concert was The Monkees -- this past July...) *poof*
Hi Welki
LOVE THE DOOBIE BROTHERS!!! I'd go see them tomorrow!
BRB mail call
Rick Allen is awesome.
I had a major crush on Joe Elliot. Um...he hasn't aged well.
Few have...sad.
Crush...David Cassidy. And he's still in good shape, but it's not ok.
hmmm .. performers who've aged well. james taylor, john fogerty (yay, creedence!), john prine, yo yo ma, must include steven tyler, bonnie raitt...
Not the same, is what I meant.
Agreed on all counts Welki. I love Bonnie Raitt.
we've sung her songs together, molly :)
That's right. We're Angels From Montgomery. : )
and devils with a blue dress on, too
Paul McCartney has aged exceptionally well, too, don't you think?
Nobody sings "Love Me Like A Man" like Bonnie Raitt.
Yes Callie, McCartney has aged well.
ohhhh, you just reminded me of her song, "i can't make you love me"
and on that 'note,' off to supper ... later, gang!
My first concert was the Beatles in DC. Their first US concert. Sigh.
Tina Turner has aged very well too.
back from mail run no bills
back from supper break. DH out did himself in the kitchen again. :-)
no bills is good news, herin.
Not if you were expecting to get a bill!
No not expecting any just didn't want any
hello all. nef how are you doing?
doing well, red. Stitches out yesterday, will have minimal scarring. PT is a tough cookie, but she explained that I need to regain my muscle tone that I've lost over the past year. (I'm at that age when if I don't do it now; I may never regain it)
how are You?
I'm alright, went back to work this week, and that has been incredibly hard, but I'm alright.
are you able to keep up for a whole shift; or are you doing half shifts?
I did a full 12 hr shift today in the trauma rooms, which was hard, and sort of unfair to give it to me, but I am able to do it..
YIKES!! 12 hours PLUS the trauma rooms? No fair!
You are really progressing well.
Red you better take care of yourself
Well, I am ready to be back at work, it was just a big assignment...and now its OVER!
thank goodness that you made it through that day. I'd be really angry at whoever did that assignment ; can I smack that person in the head for you?
I think she realized that it was a lot for me, so we will see how it goes over the weekend, hopefully the storm will keep people home.
I'll bet she'd expect better treatment herself if it was HER coming back.....
she would, but...there were a ton of agency ppl and you know...i am sure she did it on purpose, but...i think her days may be numbered...
(i'll help number them for her)
I
m ok with it. at least I am strong enough to handle it.
LOL! I had a message from my ED to call her; so I returned her call today. She wants to know when I can come back! The doc says 4-6 weeks; but I can't drive for 6 weeks....
I was out 8 weeks, and the doc almost made it ten...but..
WOW! Of course, I can regulate how much I'm on my feet (and I wasn't doing marathon running either pre-op); so maybe your doc knows you too well?
I think Red is too stubborn to sit still for that long
I think a lot of it is because the replacement replaces the joint entirely, the surgery I had tries to reattach and heal the cartilidge, so it actually takes longer to heal, even though it seems like a simpler procedure.
LOL!
I was too at her age; I'm mellowing out these days
So then red; you need to NOT have 12 hours in the trauma rooms!
That was a cruel assignment on your first day back Red.
Yes, it was odd. Surprised everyone. I think they keep trying to pretend that it was a simple thing.
st7, the last?
or even in the 1st week back
sorry, Shirl; I don't have it
hi all
*gets out gun for red's boss!
Hi JMC. Hope you had a very happy birthday.
funny thing was I was fine for the first 5 hours and then really the patients were just sick, and we had so many agency people asking me what to do...I think I just got a little tired...I feel much better now that I have iced everything and I'm going to stretch it out...and all will be well...In a few weeks, this will all be a distant memory!
i did i was just sorry i didn't get to spend it with my babble friends :-(
jmc, you are non violent!
happy belated b'day, jmc
no i am a conscientious objector to war hahaha!
we were with you in spirit, Did you do anything special?

haha shirl i keep pretty odd hours so have babbled in all time zones in effect
some want to retire--i do not nef

i want to travel and speak and write and be a boss
www.centeronconscience.org
(for the book)
Hi Nef been looking for you. I succumbed to your pressure and coughed up the money. So nice to have the stats back and to get rid of the shame of the free ride!!!
whooo hoooo vanilla!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
eta as
later all, je i will email you
I didn't "want" to retire; but I think personal and family health problems are trying to tell me something
et as
YAY, vanilla! WTG!!! Welcome aboard! :-)
bye TO talk to you later
well you should listen to your body nef
ty you can turn your attention to razor now Nef
hahaha
hi all
hi carlee
hi jmc...
sorry about your dad
sry to hear you haven't been well Nef hope things improve
I'll wait a bit, vanilla. It takes time and patience; and I'm recuperating from surgery right now
thanks ... it was a shock at how quickly he went..but..its better this way
{{{carlee}}}
and don't wait with retirement till you can't enjoy it
Hi Carlee
<---- carlee places "THE Cake" in the pb
hi cad
hi cad
Hi!!
Did you want to retire, vanilla?
No I didn't and kept going for a few years, but then I'm in good health
i do for my work what i would want to do for retirement so getting paid is better
stats for the C please
hello everyone
cy 8/55
hi bugs
cy8/55
ty nef
It isn't just my health; it's DH and his Aunt that I also worry over.
I would like to retire soon because my husband is older than me. I don't want to wait and then regret that we didn't have enough time together........ if there ever is enough time.
I know, circumstances play a big role, I suppose I would have kept going if my wife had been in better health
tht makes sense
cy + ta*****
ty shirl
nbt
wtg, jmc!
now we can enjoy trips together and I do the heavier housework
I think that that is what my DH envisions, vanilla. But he doesn't have the stamina to travel
what a nice hubby you are vanilla
my wife thought so to but we self drive and we take our time
we would travel in short stages with my mother nef
ag7?
ooo nm, just got it
we took a 3 hour drive about a month ago; it took him a week to recover.
we've always done things together, have had our ups and downs and we are now more comfortable with each other than ever
dear me nef!
we drive for about an hour, have cuppa in a park and do another hour, perhaps 3 hours in the whole day and crawl into a motel
We'd never get to Vegas that way, vanilla! ;-) (just kidding, but that is one of his dreams to go there again)
he may feel better when his aunt is no longer a worry
We are five hours away from a larger city but there's great country and nice places on the way and several ways to get there. There's also the train option
his Aunt is dying here now. I don't want her to; but we will honor her wishes and follow them.
how far is Vegas
1200 -1400 miles? *I* don't know
Nef, sorry to hear that. I didn't realize your husband's aunt was that ill.
24 hours to Vegas from the Twin Cities so a very slow week and then a week to recoop in Las Vegas
can't fly?
about 1600 miles
about 800 from me
the stopping in the desert might be trickey
we would drive to the airport with mother and then stay at the hotel there, fly the next day, stay at the hotel there and then drive to where we were going
baby steps
i did that when my back was hurt too
yeah thats a good way jmc
ok..back...sorry...was cleaning up the kitchen
Molly, she was diagnosed with heart failure in March; then (I think) got depressed and stopped eating. She's lost 30 pounds since then (at age 86). Her condo had a fire last month; so she's been here since. I'm force feeding her; but she can't maintain her oxygen levels and sleeps all day. Home Hospice was started today.
oh dear nef... life altering for you...
Hospice are wonderful people Nef. I'm glad you have them there. I hope it's not a difficult ending for her.
a one L la** is a priest, a 2 L lla** is a beast; you can bet your cats pajamas that there is no such thing as a 3 L llla**
Wish you strength Nef
is she getting antidepressants, nef?
it is hard i know nef with everything else
she's on them, jmc. Her hemoglobin is half of normal; we had to take her for a transfusion last Friday.
Poor Nef. What a burden for you after your surgery. I am glad that Hospice is involved now. Please be sure to tell them what you need!
even then looking after someone in need often puts life into perspective..its not all beer and skittles
<--- Looking forward to some happy news in Babbleland. It's been a tough year for so many.
so... ok pets are great...but having a 55 pound puppy realise ur are upset....is... distracting...he doesnt leave my side..and keeps gifting me with his fav toy...a stuffed duck that quacks...
Okay, I'll stop complaining now
and currently believes he is sleeping with me..in my bed
hey you were'nt complaing just sharing and thats great
nef u arent complaining...
Nef, you have such an amazing attitude. I would never take your comments as complaining.
anyway I just came in to look for you Nef, so have one of my strawberries and I'll go and polish the silver
hagd all
Carlee, that would be more than distracting for me.
<carlee has evicted the dog and the duck....and is now.going to attempt sleep...
Hope you get some peaceful sleep Carlee.
goal is 3 hours... uninterrupted
( i was being..polite... he is so cute about bringing me his duck...
your strawberries look luscious. Ours were all eaten by the rabbits this year (I wasn't out in the garden)
Hospice doesn't call it complaining either Nef.
benedryl carlee
he comes up....and places his paw on my arm...then drops duck in my lap...he never drops toys like that....
nonaddicting and works wonders when you are depressed and can't sleep
good night carlee. I am holding you and your Dad in the light as well.
thanks bugs...
what kind of dog is he, carlee (besides sensitive to your moods)
sleep well carlee
german shepherd...
Nef, my garden has done very poorly this year. Even though I have diligently watered, I think the heat has taken it's toll.
( I have a pic posted just tonight on my fb nef )
Really? He looks like a lab.
oh my, carlee. Take good care of him
[blushes at the thought of garden gasping for water]
i will put on a jack benny episode... molls..take a look at tonights pic...
we've had so much rain that it hasn't helped the garden at all
My tomatoes got some kind of blight too. I've only gotten five or six small ones and no prospects of any future ones. Ah well, next year.
make sure you plant the tomatoes in a new spot next year then molls
u will see he is definitely not lab...his ears have FINALLY gone up...
I don't have much room JMC, as I'm in a ground floor condo. I may have to do potted tomatoes next year.
just in last 2 days...he has been trying to get them up for a few weeks..but in last 2 days...they are UP....wahooooooyyyy
we never plant tomatoes in the same soil each year.
that would be a good plan molls you have to keep the tomatoes out of the same soil if there is any sign of blight
if you get a blight in the soil, it will ruin your future tomatoes
i do nef but only for about 4 years in a row with no blight and then i move them no matter what
*Still dreaming of a house on a piece of property where I can plant a REAL garden*
i bet cigarette smokers got your tomatoes
there some house for sell in Petworth Molls
ok..off i go to dreamland...jack can knatter away at me until i sleep
nitenite all
*puts a sprig of lavender on carlee's pillow*
I'll check those out right after I win the Mega Millions JMC. : )
wehave a raised bed garden (only about 14-16 inches); but we move the soil out of the areas where the tomaotes are and put in new compost each year ("used" soil then goes to flower beds that we don't compost
you can find one for $300k there molly
Good night Carlee - I wish for you uninterrupted blissful sleep
niters, carlee. Sleep well
Perfect! I'll buy two!
or less if you are willing to put in sweat equity
:-)
Sheesh - I should check out and go get packed = leaving for CA tomorrow :)
Safe travels Cad.
where in CA??
Northern San Diego county - my sister lives in Bonsall
and I need to move again (wearing a track in the carpets doing my walks with the walker)
Disneyland Sunday and Monday ;)
well have a great trip (that is near torgie)
Will do :) Thanks
yay cad! have fun at disney!
That a tough order but I'll do what I can!
*runs a steamer behind nef to raise the nap of carpet*
LOL
haha cad
Bye for now!
bye cad
JMC is like The Good Fairy tonight. Lavender for pillows, steam cleaning behind Nef. : D
*Holds out lottery ticket for Fairy Dust*
Steam cleaning behind me? I didn't leave stains!
She's fluffing up your carpet Nap Nef. : )
NEF!!! (((Hugs)))
are you okay? *finds extra-comfy chair* are you healing? I miss you!
hi stid.
I could have my nap fluffed too! ;-)
I just read your profile, sorry about DH's aunt. I hope she is comfortable?
*fluffs Nef's nap and puts choclits out for later*
sorry i am no good at fluffing personal nap
hi stid
I'm doing well, stid. Hanging in there. How are you?
hey jmc! how are you? sounds like your bday was eventful
*checks for fairy dust for mollys lottery ticket* sorry molls all out of dust
if you call driving from ohio to DC eventful it was
okay i have to drive to pittsburg in the morning so i am hitting the hay
see you all tomorrow!
Nef, I am a complete airhead today. Meant to call three people to ask if they would be references and write letters of recommendation for me, and I didn't. Will email tonight and follow up with phone calls Thursday (tomorrow I won't be at home). Also meant to do some additional "tidying up" for the online class I was taking and forgot that. Also meant to do ... *sigh* you know...
good nite, jmc. Drive safe!
sweet dreams jmc! (((hugs)))
Hi stid! just looked up and you were here!
(((stid))) some days are diamonds; some days are rust. We need to take time off so we can do what's necessary
BUGS!!!! *bounce bounce* I am SO bummed out that I can't find my passport and come up to see you. Happy to see you here though!
One nice thing -- I was able to work in the garden about half an hour yesterday and half an hour today doing some weeding near our front door. AND the plum tree is bearing! I had almost lost hope. Got more than a quart today! :-D Plum jam in a couple weeks!
we took our holiday to the south but did not have time to visit you. Felt a bit bad about calling anyway since you are always so busy and I wasn't sure you would feel good about giving me a paintbrush to help you.
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
welcome to the grid Min!
Hi Minveryork
hi Min
hi again, all! baseball game got called due to rain so we are back earlier than expected...
Bugs you are always welcome here and never have to lift a finger -- unless you have to shift a pile off a chair to sit down! LOL next time, perhaps.
Hello stidmama and thank you! I will be chaperoning a trip to South Street Seaport tomorrow with ESL kids.
hey sue -- rain, eh? *looks outside at little white fluffy clouds*
Hello uusue2! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
we had a medical situation that meant getting home quickly and then the car broke down on the side of the road...
did you get a hot dog for supper, sue?
oh no -- I hope you-all are okay now Bugs?
brat, nef :-)
bad car! *stern mama look at car*
and intense storm with megalightning, stid, although it seems to be passing now
sounds good, sue
rofl... I thought sue was calling Nef a "brat" *sigh* airhead, see?
lol, stid!
stid; I'd reccomed a whole day in the garden for you. Your mind will regenerate then
also had cajun fried potato salad, which was wonderful (from a local restaurant that apparently runs the concession)
I would blame the "palouse pilsner" (brewed many years ago by my tom and a group of friends) but I have only had a couple of sips -- not really a beer drinker
recommend, that was
Nef, you are brilliant -- and I can do a little bit more each day. :-D
I am fine but my DH (I hope that means Dear Heart) got some kind of inflammation in his wrist that was becoming very red, swollen and painful so we needed to see the doc. Then the water pump died and the overflow tank exploded. Only my husband would pack a spare water pump and we cut up yogurt containers to "weld" the plastic tank together with our camp stove and a screwdriver. It was good all around
you used to enjoy gardening I believe; it is a great thing for those that love it
gee, what a guy! *admiring ingenuity and resourcefulness of Bugs and DHBugs* hope his wrist is now 100%
I used to, Nef, but had such a scare from a contact allergen in the garden in June that I have to go very slowly. We don't know which plant caused it.
it is healing, thanks. I am only sorry that I felt too bad about his pain to stop for an hour or two to see you and your wonderful family.
oh. no, stid! How horrid!
no, never feel badly about taking care of the people you love! You did the right thing.
storm seems to be clearing - going to expert, may be able to finish this puzzle after all
I am stopping at 186 words and 1984 points.Bye to all
make sure you don't have hogweed somewhere stid.
Yes, I even had to use an inhaler for several weeks after the prednisone.
Goodnight to my fellow babblers! I'll see you tomorrow
night, min!
hm. I don't think we do, but it's possible. Was thinking it might be the native St. John's Wort, but not willing to te4 that theory
sweet dreams Min!
goodnight Min. Have fun tomorrow!
can you go through allergy testing, stid? That sounds serious enough that you ought to know what caused it
niters, Min! Sleep well!
hmmm. It looks like queen anne's lace, which we definitely have. Only bigger. Will research a little more.
I have had allergy testing Nef, and it seems useless. Not sure what asking for more would do.
apparently people brought it to this area to beautify their gardens! I only heard about it from the news
could be hemlock (according to my resident plant expert), stid
I just went through a whole series of it to have my hip surgery, stid. I'll have to go through the shots for bee stings (that allergy is much worse than we thought!); but it's important to know what plants cause problems for a gardener
i need help please// it seems the smallest words are eluding me tonight
yep. folks can be silly... I think based on the reaction I had (hives, followed by asthma-like symptoms, but no "burning") that it wasn't hogweed.
Hi TO. some of these words are pretty stupid
when is your hip surgery, stid?
andhi, TO1
we do have hemlock locally, but I thought that was an ingestion thing
gaah. This rubber keyboard repels water but the space key and shift key are tricky :-(
I will NEVER have hip surgery, sue! LOL
We have hemlock here, uusue
it's also a skin irritant, stid
3nd an5/14 pls?
hey TO!
s
I won't bore you about it, stid; but there are about 4 levels of allergic reactions; once you reach the asthma-like symptoms; you need to worry about airway swelling and your breathing blocking off
hi stiddy! make that 2nd an5/14
I will look into it, sue -- thanks.
oops, meant to ask nef - sorry stid! you are not the only one whose brain isn't quite right tonight!!
hamlet
ooh, didn't have that one, TO!
you're forgiven -- brats affect the brain sometimes (at least mine do... ) *wicked mama grin*
don't have it yet TO, sorry
I had it sue; on the 21st. Doing very well too
oh, you did! and I missed it!! Glad to hear you are doing well (and that explains the walker...)
oh! down below 100 -- I am enjoying visiting, but my bed is covered with books that lack ISBNs, so much hand-enter into the database before bed.
stitches areout and doc is proud of his handy work; I should have a very little scar (only about 4 inches long!)
I have heard that hip replacements are easier to recover from than knee replacements; I certainly hope so!! I have heard that you really need to do what the physical therapists tell you (true for knees too) - you need to get the range of motion but not stressi t too much
(((hugs all))) Nef, I will consider asking for another trip to the allergist, thanks. One of these days I will go a whole month without some medical issue... *determined mama look* probably the month after my tombstone is installed! *wicked mama grin* *poof*
well that an 5 is my lst word
Found it! the second an 5/14 is a shortened version of anguish
bye, stid!
yes it caused me geat an5 to find an5
me too
good luck neff and bye everyone *poof*
yes, sue. I have a very tough PT who has given me my exercises and I'm following her commands plus doing just a bit more
bye stid. see you later
good, nef - only a tiny bit more, though!
and bye, TO!
I know, sue; I'm not going to push too much on the exercises (but I've done too much around the house caring for Aunty last Friday). I won't do that again
gahhh, can't believe it took me that long to find the volcano!
ty uusue. I needed that one too
my left knee never did heal properly, and I think it may be because I was alone after the first month and had to shovel snow, get myself around all by myself, and whatnot
my friend has the same problem sue. She lives alone and I had to go over and help her every day (this was 3-4 years ago). She's returning the favor now
oh, that is nice, nef!
Hello briefly -- just wanted to touch base with fellow-islander Bugsaw before I get my late dinner!
hi, jilli!
hi jilli!
and ty uusue for the volcano -- can't believe I missed it too!
HEY Jilli! How are you?
I'm alomost healed from the cat-bite, bugs -- how are YOU? Long time no see -- when are you coming for that visit?
could be soon Jilli. If you set a date sometime in the next two weeks, I will be there with bells on!
yw - always happy to help with volcanoes :-)
time for bed for me I think. Take care Everybody and Happy Babbling!
sleep well Nef. I am holding you and your loved ones in the light as well.
Bugs -- YOU set the date. My no-nos are Mondays (bridge night) and Saturdays (bridge afternoons), and next Sunday (Aug 7 -- library job). I also have a haircut at 2 pm Friday Aug 12. It would be good if you were here on a Friday evening and could meet my interesting neighbours at a Happy Hour.
THanks, Bugs. I appreciate that
And Nef, you and carlee are in my thoughts too.
Bugs, email me, ok?
How about I come on Friday, Aug 12th and stay over until your bridge starts?
oops, just looked up from the calendar to see your post....
Bad Friday to pick, bugs, lol!
pick the 5th or the 19th then
I'll let you know shortly, bugs, via email, ok?
sounds good Jilli
May I make a suggestion to those who pick their own icon themes? Why don't you send your ideas to sprite (address in my profile) so that we can all partake?
Harold Lloyd and asteroids would make good themes...
will do Jilli. I went thru a period where changing the icon became not fun anymore. I think I am over that now
I guess you've had a hump to get over, bugs -- glad to see it's done :-)
I did. the summer off was just the solution!
poor sprite has had to post icon ideas by herslef for ages now and could really use some help
Well, I just do the astronomy picture of the day (every day there is a new one). But that's just my thing.
I really must go and get my very late dinner now -- it's been a busy day.
bye, jilli!
have agood sleep Jilli. Will email you when I finish this thing
Uusue, I realise that, but there's more to learn about the icons you pick each day, which we could all share. That's what the themes are about -- to see what others find about the subject, serious or silly!
I'm not going to sleep, bugs -- will be back here after dinner! You know me -- the nightowl.
true - only trouble is I don't know what the picture is until the day comes. But I could make some "sciency" suggestions - galaxies, planets, planetary nebulae....I'll send sprite a note.
JOE GIBSON IS HERE :D
Hi, Joe!
evening all ... passing through ... wanted to stop in and say, "Howdy!"
Thanks, sue -- I'm sure yo can come up with some fascinating stuff.
howdy
Hello Joe
howdy

and hi pini-cuz!
howdy
I must go and get my very late dinner (I keep saying that!)
glad I was able to catch you for a hello, jilli-cuz...now off you go to forage! :)
BTW, the next icon theme is Favourite Artist. Wow -- an awful lot to choose from! Or is it an awesome lot...?
...will keep my eye for something cool, jilli...
and toodles for now -- back for the flip
bye, jilli, and hi, pini!
yet another addition to the physics babblets - re4/5.
danke :)
and I did send a short list to sprite - should I have copied it to anyone else? (list of icon theme ideas, that is)
maybe jilli...I think she's been keeping a list for when Sprite isn't around?
evening all! button on the beach photo in my profile, but I must off to bed
ok, will do.
hi/bye dan2 ... ;)
night, dan!
very cute pic of Button!
and what a little cutie!!!
that's it...jilli's food comments have sufficiently made me hungry enough to run to the kitchen to get some pistachio pudding dessert...brb
a little help . . . the first re6/30
I'm of no use, PC...I haven't been able to get very far into a grid lately...
hi, pc!
hi sue

well, stick -er, -est, and -s on everything, that should get you a bunch more :-)
also -ster
thx for the endings!!!
fireworks! last word was ye4/6
wtg uu :)
well, the pistachio pudding dessert was good...now Koda is indicating he needs a "moment" outdoors...
so, back later (hopefully)
how could pistachio pudding not be good?
well, it's not really 'pudding'....
...it's a chilled dessert consisting of a tub of cool whip, pistachio pudding mix, crushed pineapple, and mini-marshmallows...yuuuuuummmmm!!!!
I want some.
I'd share but it won't move well through the screen! :-)
bummer :-)
... but it's easy and not expensive to make! :-)
hmmm - I may have some pistachio pudding in my cabinet...
my granddaughter loves making it...she's 10 (11 next month) and all I have to do is give her the 4 ingredients, a bowl, and a spoon...and she's one happy camper!
(oh, and she loves eating it, too!!!)
...and now for Koda's moment...back later...(enjoy!)
bye,pini!
bummer. missed pini
oh well... hey all! I got another big pile of books cataloged.
and down to 80. That's good enough for today. Back tomorrow... *poof*
