Somewhat. Also dissimilar.

12:27 am

same but different lol

Only the very beginning is silmilar. Last part, no.

they both start with ci and have seven letters lol

Pretty similar. The 4th letter of the 2nd one is a consonant and the last letter, a vowel.

12:29 am

gee thanks rasta lol

That's opposite for the 2st one.

They both start with the same first 3 letters. I shouldn't say any more.

12:29 am

12:47 am

Wish ruru was here. He'd appreciate what I shared at the bottom of my bio.

12:48 am

just home from bridge, jilli should be along soon

I'm happy 32 left and I have the biggies! The rest will keep have a good day all

Oh ok. I'll go kill the Sudoku puzzle meanwhile.

Ugh. What happened, mrp?

I appreciate it Neil

1:02 am

hey mrp!

You appreciate what, spatialbean?

Oh, nm!

Haha, thanks. ;)

the thing in your profile about bachman

Can't tell I'm overtired much, can you?

Yes, clued in after I'd said that.

I tweeted that earlier today. It was well appreciated by many other Twitterers.

teens with sex on their mind, and nothing between their ears! And who sends pictures of their weeny to a 13 year old??

eek

OMG mrp... geez!

friggin idiot kids!

To a 13 year old? Uh, who sent that?

they guy who wanted to meet up with the 13 year old in a ***you all ready for this***.... disabled toilet at the shopping centre to 'do it'... and thought he would send a picture of his package beforehand.

Oh,that would be Anthony Weiner, right?

1:06 am

lol

1:06 am

rast, he was proud!!!!

revolting... absolutely skanky

1:07 am

agree mrp. I don't mean to make lite of it...........

Holy crap. isn't there any way to report him to the police?

i wish i could... actually, I could

1:08 am

keep the info on the phone if possible.

If the picture's not deleted, surely you could turn him in

You should if you possibly can, mrp. He's a pedophile and a danger to children everywhere.

Which goes without saying.

neil, he is 14 and an idiot

1:09 am

someone did that with your kid mr P?

i know his name, but that is it... and I know who he is friends with... I could report it... it is child pornography

not my kid ruru, a friend of my kid

1:10 am

Hello all -- a bit late.

1:11 am

you can report it.. it is child pornography and highly illegal anywhere

1:11 am

sexting is illegal and children can be charged if they are underaged. If convicted he would become a registered sex offender

1:11 am

139 down and crashing -- that will have to be enough! -- nite

1:14 am

speak to his parents first

1:21 am

hey ruru

1:23 am

hi dart.. you will be pulling ahead of me soon

1:23 am

why's that?

1:24 am

I'll be going in for surgery at some point..and unless I buy a lap top..i'll be out for a bit

1:24 am

that's not good...hope everything works out for you

1:25 am

me too.

1:25 am

thanks

1:25 am

did you see the point total on 9/1/11?

1:25 am

I was mentioning earlier that my humor on morphine might be even sicker

1:25 am

no why.. what did I miss?

1:26 am

you did the puzzle...pt total for that puzzle was 2444...lol...if I would have missed that one puzzle...we would be EXACTLY tied

1:26 am

dang

1:27 am

what are the chances it would be tha exact total difference?

1:27 am

so, ruru, you saw the doc and he put you on morphine until you have the surgery? And what will the surgery be?

1:28 am

i'd like you to miss a 2445 one once

1:28 am

arthro?

1:28 am

no.. I wish jilli.. I'm going to deal with the pain issue tomorrow with my internist

1:29 am

and what will the surgery be?

1:29 am

knee replacement on one knee and arthroscopic cleanup on the other

1:30 am

both knees?

1:30 am

Then I thought I'd have a face-lift and some liposuction as long as I was in for work

1:30 am

Wow, you'd better get that laptop!

1:30 am

lol.....is that from the tennis?

1:30 am

both knees

1:30 am

yeah I'd better .. dart will become insufferable if I don't

1:31 am

both at the same time?

1:32 am

yes

1:33 am

I'm going to be a hoot going through airport secruity now

1:33 am

well, it will be good to get it over with all at once, I guess.

1:34 am

yeah I guess

1:34 am

I just hate the thought of it

1:34 am

you will get the full pat down routine!

1:34 am

You'll be glad when it's done

1:35 am

yeah.. I hope she's cute

1:35 am

she'll be named Bubba lol

1:35 am

Me : Hi airport security: is that a pipe bomb or are you happy to see me?

ruru, check the end of my bio... something you'll appreciate no doubt.

1:36 am

not going there

1:36 am

lol

I'm not either, geez.

1:36 am

ok neil

1:36 am

hi neil -- I enjoyed that thing in your bio

1:37 am

..gonna run...ni4 all...good luck ruru

I'm glad, jilli. I have to wonder about anyone who wouldn't or doesn't, really.

Good night dart... take care.

1:37 am

that's great news neil..

1:38 am

Ed ROllins is a real pro

Isn't it though?

Made my day!

Yep.

1:38 am

I seems there are lots of people who prefer stupidity -- makes them feel superior

1:38 am

now if we don't have to see her creepy husband ever again .. I'll be really happy

Amen to that ru.

1:40 am

I read an article on him and he is totally bizarre and whacked

Is that what it does, jilli? I fail to see how stupidity could ever be 'superior'... but maybe that's just me? You know what we are surrounded by though, largely.

Yes, ruru... I've probably read the same article.

And others besides.

1:41 am

I understand that he is involved in some ministry to change gay men and women into heterosexuals.. blah blah blah

1:42 am

what kind of rocks do these cretins crawl out of.. that's what I want to know

Yes, ruru. Seain posted a link to an article all about that on Google+ not too long ago. Scary wasn't the word for it. Then my brother found an interview clip of hers on YouTube and he posted that... along with his comments. It was unbelievable.

I can get it for you if you want to see?

1:43 am

no. it's okay

1:43 am

I know enough about the two of them to just laugh at their fumbling in the electoral process

1:44 am

Too bad Hunter Thompson didn't live to see this one

1:44 am

this whole Tea party movement does scare me a bit however

Yes, it's pretty disturbing shit.

1:45 am

agreed

1:46 am

I meant that those who like stupid people do so because it makes them feel superior themselves.

séain Gutridge - Aug 17, 2011 - Extended circles ‎"Just so we're clear here, Rep. Michele Bachmann, a leading Republican candidate for the presidency of the United States, has a top-ranking employee who was arrested for allegedly smuggling assault weapons to a foreign regime that is presently working to legalize the executions of gay people. Everybody got that? " Joe. My. God.: Michele Bachmann Linked To Uganda's Pastor Martin "Kill The Gays" Ssempa

http://joemygod.blogspot.com/2011/08/m ichele-bachmann-linked-to-ugandas.html

1:46 am

I understood you jilli and you are right on the mark

Ugh, sorry I accidentally hit 'Enter' before adding the link.

But read that, you two. Frightening.

1:47 am

I wouldn't doubt it for a second..

1:48 am

I don't think I am ever going to Iowa .. ever

Don't blame you ruru. Le'ts not ever go there together and meet up for coffee elsewhere.

And here's my brother's post right after Seain's: A. L. - Aug 15, 2011 - Limited http://t.co/1CXHENe… yup girl, your views are too clear: you're an extremely ignorant woman who just grins when she's called out. No thanks YouTube - MIchele Bachmann: 'I don't judge gays'

[I've taken his name out of course.]

well she is judging someone...

Those are his own comments from 'yup girl' to 'No thanks'.

1:50 am

Daring for him

1:51 am

I hope her husband gets caught with porno stuff.. he's a sick puppy

Of course she is, mrp... gay people. She's the most judgemental person I think I've ever seen. She's downright evil. Supports people who want to kill gays in Uganda.

Daring for him why, ruru?

1:52 am

he's so publicly known

And yes ruru, he really is. I'd love to see that happen.

he is an advocate no??

He doesn't care. He's not ashamed to speak up against wrong... nobody should be.

1:53 am

you can tell him.. I think he's great.

i luv justice... is my middle name

You could tell him yourself if you were on G+. I'll pass that on... I'll tell him 'rururocks' says so.

1:54 am

:D mr P I love you

Of course he'll wonder who the heck that is.

1:54 am

LOL .. I'm a nobody.. but I appreciate his courage in coming out and his forthrightness in taking on conservative america

love you too ruuster! we are the 'justice league!'

1:55 am

I grew up with 7 gay cousins neil.. I am very pro gay rights

For that matter he may already know your Babble name, ru. He's Babbled a few times... probably with Laura I think?

1:56 am

I hate to divert your, but I have 2 blank tiles and wonder if someone can help me find words for the R and the T in the lower right, please.

He never has time for it much. He said he's only completed one grid because it was a small one and not too hard.

I'll try, jilli.

1:57 am

I remember seeing him on Babble a while ago, just using his first name.

1:57 am

nothing worse than a small one that isn't very hard..

I'm just bad at knowing which words come off which tiles sometimes yet.

Haha, he would say that!

1:57 am

lol

hahahaha ruuster!

Oh, jilli? He was using a pseudonym he told me.

The t is part of another name for a seesaw, jilli

1:58 am

don't worry about it, neil

1:58 am

te6/18 - half a see-saw

and especially one that doesn't come off anything!

1:58 am

the r is another word for delay - I think that's the right one!

Yes. I'll get the hang of this yet.

1:59 am

No, it comes off another r. Still looking...

1:59 am

all these r's are confusing me

That does?

ick... i need a shower after that pedo pic... brb

2:00 am

nope, helens, not from the bottom R -- at least not the re6/21 that led me to

Oh yeah, guess it has to.

I bet mrp... gross.

2:00 am

ri 6 jilli means the same thing in italian music

2:00 am

re 6/18 off that 4th col R

2:02 am

It's the rightmost r we're looking for, ruru.

I was looking at the r in the right hand column - but I think that's wrong, too.

2:02 am

lower RIGHT, ruru dear

Yep. Knew that one... years of classical piano lessons while growing up.

Yep. Knew that one... years of classical piano lessons while growing up.

2:02 am

no idea jilli

Sorry - I was looking at the right hand column r - but I had the wrong word anyway!

2:03 am

2:29 am

I only get in trouble.

2:29 am

I just keep staring... but I also giggle a bit at the chog now and then, sorry, jilli! :)

2:31 am

and to think... all I strive for these days is a solid halfway in most grids, and am having trouble with even that tonight!

2:32 am

It's not a grid that flows easily.

2:33 am

no, it's not. I"m at 70, so not far to halfway.

2:33 am

but I have no 8's or 9's, think I"ll check the back chog.

My last one - the second re 6/18 any clues please

hi... sorry, phone calls!

ok, sorted out the nude photo scandel with the underage kids... i was contacted by the parent of the boy who posted his weener on a 13 year old girls phone... she is begging me to delete it and not take it any further.

7:04 am

7:05 am

i think..perhaps...the school should know MRP

my threat?? i will pass the information onto HIS school and they will have no choice but to take action with the federal police... it is the law. At first, she tried to deny him doing anything of the sort, then she begged me to not take the photos to the school. If I was a teacher, I would HAVE to, by law, report it.

7:05 am

well sometimes the rest of the world has trouble keeping up with you... and unfortunately the wheels of justice turn at their own pace..as much as we as 1 person see the threat to a child as very serious way up their on the richter scale...there are other things that on the grand scale are seen as more serious

7:10 am

i think I have some type of napalm jelly in my first word! LOL

Oh really?

does g+ have a chat option?

Morning all: how many words today and thanks

9:09 am

must be off to do chores and stuff. see you all la5!

9:10 am

151 steve

thanks lbd

No, Google has a chat messenger called 'Google Talk' that's built into Gmail, or you can download the standalone client [which I've done] here: http://www.google.com/talk/ The n you just sign in with your Gmail address and password and add you contacts by their Gmail addresses.

Ugh. 'then' even.

151 words today, stevedallas.

Oh sorry, lbdawger already gave you that. [I'm not awake yet.]

But you can't do conference [multi] chats on Google Talk, mrp. So I prefer MSN [Windows Live] messenger, because you can on there.

We all use that, mostly.

ah, haven't used msn in forever!

Oh, you have it? My sign in for that is the email on my profile.

Seain however, doesn't use MSN... he uses GT.

So if you install Google Talk and add him, you'll see him on there a lot.

i added him :)

Oh, ok. Did you add me?

I didn't get any add request yet.

You know my Gmail address, right? It's on the emails I sent you. It isn't the same as my player name.

I may have added you on there actually. Can't remember. Just signing into it now.

Looks like I hadn't done that. Just did now.

9:24 am

My goodness it looks like you never sleep either Neil. :P

9:28 am

Good morning!

9:29 am

howdy fauxmage, have not seen you before,as for your bio,do not worry about "normal" or what you wish do do with your life, normal is nothing but the majority trying to make you do the status quo,and many interesting people i know still do not know what they wish to be in life at 40..the most interesting people i know still do not know at 60:)

9:29 am

howdy car

9:30 am

Good morning car.eeyore.

9:30 am

Thank you crosshair.

9:31 am

and now by popular demand it is time once again for crossy,s tidbit of the day!

9:31 am

Despite its 6.5 million square feet of floor space, the Pentagon in Washington was constructed in such a way that no point in the building is more than seven minutes’ walk from any other point in the building.

depends how fast you walk I suppose and how often you get lost

9:32 am

well yes, depends if you use a jet powered skate board as well i would imagine

9:34 am

LOL! Thank you Crossy!

9:34 am

Do you post tidbits like this every day crosshair?

9:34 am

i do indeed faux

9:34 am

hi crossy and hi everybody-

9:34 am

howdy jbv

9:34 am

Boo Yah! Got a 9 right outta the gate!

9:34 am

Hi JBV!

9:34 am

Hi JBV.

9:34 am

yaa for car!

9:35 am

crossy, as someone who has been inside the Pentagon I can tell you that it is truly amazing - talk about getting lost in the maze of bureaucracy - it's an endless series of corridors

9:35 am

Hello Fauxmage & welcome!

9:35 am

crossy, I have a tidbit of my own today - from real life: (it will either make you laugh or scream):

and never ever go to the sub basements

9:35 am

then they sould use coloured stripes on the floor like in some hospitals

9:36 am

lay it on me jbv

aero

9:36 am

Hi Steve!

9:36 am

I bought an inexpensive pair of flip-flops yesterday, they were attached with one of those plastic thingies to keep the 2 together, and they had a little tiny hanger so they could hang on a hook int he store.....

sorry

9:36 am

Thank you car.eeyore.

hi car

9:36 am

so here's what it says on the label "For safety's sake, remove all of the plastic tag holders. These are not part of the item."

9:36 am

no kidding

9:37 am

The dumbing down of America continues...

9:37 am

I'm wearing them now, and yes, I cut off the plastic tag!

9:37 am

!!! had had a box of toothpicks once with a label on the back warning of choking hazards and not to put things in your mouth....

9:38 am

well, you just know that it probably was caused by some unfortunate accident by some really clueless idiot, so now they have to warn everybody

youre supposed to cut off the tags? I thought they hooked around your little toe!

9:38 am

LOL, steve! the hangers were really cute, though. I actually thought, "What could I use this for?"

9:39 am

that is the real scary part jbv, they warn you not to dry your baby in a microwave oven, cause at sometime, somewhere, somebody has done just that

9:39 am

OMG, that's not even funny

9:39 am

i have seen the label,no body parts in the oven

9:40 am

usually on the cheap wally mart equipment is where you see the most interesting labels

9:40 am

you're not going to believe this, but you just reminded me of a scene from the very deep past:

9:41 am

my grandfather who had very hairy arms used to singe off the hair in a quite practiced move over an open flame! quite entertaining for us kids

9:41 am

in chinglish,or mexilish,or some other thing that is almost readable

9:41 am

ugh@ the smell of burning hair

9:41 am

I know exactly what you mean, crossy, I kind of have a radar for those -inglish labels!

9:41 am

yep I'm smelling it right now :)

9:42 am

Oh my Pa used to run his finger through candle flames for us.

9:42 am

he was a real character - used to wow us by cracking a walnut between thumb and forefinger

9:42 am

I did it once and my nail polish caught on fire. :P

9:42 am

i had an argument while returing a padlock at a wally-mart last year.i looked at the banner behind the counter proclaiming 20% canadian product content and called her on it...

9:43 am

took me 20 minutes and i found a pencil made in canada

9:44 am

so i caught a floor manager next time and asked him about it and he said" well i know the floor tile for the store was bought local, and maybe some of the counter tops" !!!

9:45 am

... a bunch of their socks and underwear and tee-shirts are made by Gildan in Quebec ... but I can't think of much else

9:45 am

thanks for the tip, Fauxmage - maybe they should add a tag to candles: Do not run polished nails through the flame!

9:45 am

lol,you ladies have nothing on me,way way back,(when i was less brilliant than now), i once started a camp fire with naptha fuel!

9:46 am

have fun, everybody - I'm off to do a few things... see you later

9:46 am

Yeah. I shoulda sued. :P

9:46 am

Bye JBV!

9:46 am

tc jbv

9:46 am

Bye JBV.

9:47 am

good grief Crossy!

9:47 am

lol dose, they must of worked hard to get the 20%

9:47 am

I'm off too. Gonna go run.

9:48 am

... with the level of arithmetic skills around today ... I'll bet it wasn't that hard ...

9:48 am

...wonder if they count the human drones who work there as canadian content?...

9:48 am

Bye Faux!

9:48 am

Hi doseffing!

9:49 am

i was in a tight spot once and applied for a managerial position at the local store and was denied for being "over qualified"!

9:49 am

That has happened to me too Crossy.

9:50 am

... my wife was a project manager at Bell for thirty years ... and couldn't get a job at Tim's because she didn't have retail experience ..

9:50 am

their thinking is i will start and the second something better comes i will just vanish..well duh!

9:50 am

I need the D From the right side please?

9:50 am

lol dose!

9:51 am

... no ... you'll make the other employees nervous and they'll quit ... it's easier to replace one of you than thirty of them ...

9:51 am

Wow. That's absurd!

9:51 am

... as Alice said in Wonderland ..."This is getting curiouser and curiouser" ...

9:52 am

perhaps you are right dose, and they do not want people with new ideas, they want you to follow the company play book,no matter what it is

9:52 am

... that's it exactly ...

my dh didn't get a job as a firefighter once, because he scored too high on the exam

9:53 am

Hi rasta!

hi car

9:54 am

on the fancy app they have(8 pages and 2 interviews) they ask "what department would you change if you could?" i said "the pet dept, because generally people will not buy dead floating fish"..my second interview was as it turns out with the head of that dept!

9:54 am

... probably just as well ... ... they all die of cancer between 55 and 60 because of exposure to fumes from burning furniture and fabric coverings

9:54 am

OMG Crossy! Too funny!

9:54 am

i know it dose,i have been in the fuel business for 30 years and have had cancer 3 times..coincidence,i think not!

yes, in retrospect he was glad he didn't get it.

9:56 am

... hey ... both Ben and Jerry died of heart attacks in their early 60's caused by blocked arteries from too much product sampling and taste testing

9:56 am

lol what a way to go

9:57 am

... oh well ... stuck at 12 ... this will take paper and pencil and time ... that would be better spent on house and school things ... ... 'til later ...

9:57 am

i hope for 70,as a result of my treatments i have been told i WILL have a 10-20% chance of getting a new cancer totally unrealated to any other i have been treated for to date,so i say to hell with it and just enjoy life.but i did give up the smokes 10 years ago now

9:58 am

OK...NBT. I am off to clean and do laundry. Want to get it all in order before school starts tomorrow!

9:58 am

Um...Ben and Jerry are both still alive.

9:58 am

tc car and dose

9:58 am

Hi Molly....I thought that too!

9:58 am

yaa for ben and jerry! MORE ICE CREAM!

10:00 am

my boys first day back is today

You must be thinking of Burt Baskin & Irv Robbins

10:00 am

... quickly back ... ... my source was a TV programme on food problems ... but it might have been Michael Moore ... the person interviewed was I believe a nephew of one of them ... ... this would be about five or six years ago ... ... of course ... they could have been mistaken

I think they died early

10:01 am

tr

It might've been Tim Robbins they were interviewing

10:02 am

c

10:04 am

na

Ok the nephew is John Robbins. Burt Baskin died at 54 of a heart attack.

10:09 am

back again ... to say I was mistaken ... .. Wikipedia does have both Ben and Jerry alive ... ... Ben did have serious heart trouble about 10 years ago ... .. the reference was the documentary "Supersize me" ... the comment was from I believe the son of the founder of Baskin Robbins

10:15 am

lol back again,i see were are still doing ice cream:)

10:18 am

i have faith in junk food ,i mean if Col Saunders kicked off at 90,then i am in good shape:)

10:21 am

Col. Saunders was a vegetarian

10:21 am

mm that would explain it

10:22 am

he had a penchant for deep fried tofu though

10:22 am

extra crispy

10:22 am

wonder if he used his coating on the deep fried tofu?

10:22 am

lol

10:23 am

i managed a KFC years ago and the coating comes in unmarked brown 20kg bags

10:23 am

..took one home and made my own kfc:)

10:24 am

but it is the pressure fryer that is the secret, double lock ,remote basket drop 7.5 min

kinda looks greasy to me

10:26 am

the chicken quality sucks now, stringy vieny utility birds

10:26 am

((ruby)))

10:27 am

it gets greasy if the oil temp is wrong,or it is not changed for clean enough,or if the trays of finished chicken sit under the heat lamps too long

10:29 am

did you ever try blackberry jam on KFC? you'd think you died and went to heaven!

10:29 am

10:46 am

wow river

10:48 am

its been depressing talking with these folks that have lost everything. their homes completely under water just barely seeing the roof top and no flood insurance

10:50 am

who would have thought to get flood insurance up there?

10:50 am

unless you are on a creek or a river

10:51 am

lots of small brooks and streams became rushing rivers

10:51 am

yeah I saw on the news.. it's pretty bad up there.

10:51 am

I have friends in Vermont.

River, how did you do with irene? We're okay and got power back the next day

11:06 am

Hi peri, ruby and everyone else here

11:07 am

Lee is visiting us now.

11:07 am

Hi bichon. TV not working.

11:07 am

Hello, bichon, good morning/afternoon all.

11:07 am

I don't think Kati is going to hit the east coast

11:07 am

Hi Haz

11:07 am

*Katia

11:08 am

we were fine bichon - only lost power for 3 hours in the afternoon. We live on a big hill so no issues with water

11:08 am

as of this morning it sounded like Kati was going back out to sea

11:08 am

You're so luck you lost power for such a short time. We were out that entire day and night. Booooring. But no trees fell on our property, so that's good

11:09 am

*stealth hugs on the way to gettting "something" done about the pre-school year clutter...*.

11:09 am

my driveway looked like a war zone of leaves and small branches but nothing a leaf blower couldnt take care of

11:10 am

Something involving bin bags?

11:19 am

I must go - busy here at work today

11:19 am

Bye, River.

11:25 am

hi again all, short break between class and student coming in

11:30 am

hi sue. How are things with you?

11:32 am

Hi All back again

11:36 am

Hope it's nothing I said. lol

11:37 am

I don't think so.

11:37 am

Hi Haz

11:38 am

Hello, hego. I've got one eye here and another on other things.

11:38 am

I guess we all do that.

11:49 am

the street is flooed at the end of our driveway!! my sister is on her way home. I tried to see if leaves were clogging the grates but it is pouring!

11:49 am

flooded even

11:49 am

no water in basement tho

11:50 am

Stay dry Peri

11:50 am

I will go out later once the rain eases up. I am so tired of being responsible. can I have a do over?

11:50 am

YUP!

11:50 am

doing the best I can,had on boots, rain hat and raincoat.

11:51 am

ty hego. I want to be carefree and worrifree

11:51 am

Me too!

11:51 am

That's the down side of being an adult.

11:51 am

what are these it 7's?

11:53 am

it7 - one ends in a cross tirade

11:53 am

Hmmm...

11:53 am

The other ends in a measurement of speed or water flow perhaps.

11:53 am

I am the one who does most of the shoveling and ice chopping in the winter too! sometimes I wish I was stil living in an apartment. but then I would have financial problems. so it is a trade off

11:54 am

ty Haz

11:54 am

You're welcome, hego.

11:54 am

I remember all your shoveling Peri

11:55 am

*sigh* got tendonitis in my left wrist because of it and had to have minor surgery

11:55 am

bil is thinking of getting a snow blower but we have nowhere to store it

11:55 am

OH! gosh.

11:55 am

I'm off to the kitchen. Bye for now!

11:55 am

small shed maybe

11:55 am

really want to move somewhere warm where there are no hurricanes or tornadoes

11:56 am

bye Haz

11:56 am

the shed we have is too small I think.

11:56 am

And where would that be?

11:56 am

not sure, any suggestions

11:57 am

Not really

11:57 am

near or at a beach would be nice

11:57 am

ok, need to check on drains, rain seems to have let up. bbl

11:58 am

Those it's feel like they have a syllable missing.

11:59 am

Hi Hego,Peri and whoever else I missed

12:25 pm

Sorry for the server burp. The "words" database became corrupted. I hope not too much damage was done (if any).

12:26 pm

My word list looks fine (although still incomplete!)

12:28 pm

good afternoon all

12:29 pm

Afternoon!

12:29 pm

thanks for catching and correcting, it Dr God

12:29 pm

hello, everyone

12:31 pm

Hello! And bye for now!

12:31 pm

hasta, gwenski

12:47 pm

hello everybody

12:59 pm

ok, real life interrupted my babbling, but it sounds like babble interrupted itself too - glad I missed it :-)

red boxes!

1:00 pm

hi, kap!

iter

excuse me.

1:01 pm

Nope. I try that one every time.

By now it should become a word.

1:03 pm

fireworks - last word was er6/21 - sexy

1:04 pm

yay, river!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1:04 pm

congrats river - thnx for er 6

1:04 pm

incidentally, river, how are you doing flood-wise?

1:06 pm

we are fine Sue - live on a big hill so no issues with flooding. Our neighbor Vermont got hit real hard...still many unpassable roads, no power, no drinkable water....its just terrible there

1:06 pm

any clues needed before I get back to work/

1:07 pm

well, I am glad you are ok, river! My home state of New Jersey also got hit pretty hard (although nothing like Vermont) but my dad lives on a big hill too :-)

1:07 pm

oh, and any hints for the lone D?

1:08 pm

Hi River

1:08 pm

is that the one in the right collumn?

1:08 pm

yes, river

1:08 pm

I dr5 to tell you that will cause you a fish slap

1:09 pm

so it does. sigh. I was trying to find a di word and coming up empty.

1:09 pm

I did the same thing

1:09 pm

I think I tried every combination before giving up and going the other way

1:10 pm

I mean, who's to say that didar isn't a unit of currency somewhere? Or some ancient Scots word?

1:10 pm

makes sense to me

1:11 pm

did you get the 9's yet?

Medics- anyone ever get a bump on the back of their neck near hairline that potentially comes from a muscle injury?

1:12 pm

I have one of them (the person who gives up the battle)

stats on the 9's?\

1:12 pm

All 9's are re

1:12 pm

I have had some pretty good knots back there Kap

1:13 pm

re9/60 fire resistant

one about the size of a p?

1:13 pm

re9/60 not so nice a word for a mentally challenged person

pea?

1:14 pm

mine are definately muscle related knots from tension/stress - not little like that

1:15 pm

I must get back to work - have a great day everyone

1:16 pm

kap, my neck is basically totally messed up so I may not be much help, but is this bump off to the side, where the tendons are, or right in the middle where the vertebrae are? (or somewhere else?)

1:35 pm

c

1:35 pm

dr

1:39 pm

sue, do you have tingling in your fingers?or anything like that?

1:42 pm

I do, snags, and it isn't going to go away, but I was trying to answer kap's question

1:42 pm

(I've already had three fusions)

1:46 pm

crossy has 3 herniated neck disks and shares your pain

1:47 pm

the worst initially,is the tingling and pulling sensations in the arms or legs,it can become quite umberable

1:48 pm

hi, crossy!

1:48 pm

howdy sue:))

1:48 pm

ah, for me it was quite intense pain, I had some nerves that were seriously crimped

1:49 pm

i was lucky sue, mine atrophied somewhat and it is bearable, but i was told not go go under the knife unless i was reduced to crawling on my hands and knees

1:50 pm

and a friend of mine was in similar situation,he went for the operation and now uses 2 canes full time,so i wait and watch

1:51 pm

once they start messing round in that spinal cord, anything can happen

1:51 pm

well, I was in so much pain that I couldn't really function, and bone spurs were starting to compress my spinal cord (the skin on my chest was starting to go numb), so I didn't have much choice. All three surgeries have been very successful.

1:52 pm

no,you were at the do or die point

1:52 pm

I do have a bit of trouble walking (well, mostly I can't run) but that is due to knee replacements

1:53 pm

((poor sue))

1:53 pm

i find that when i am really tired the numbness in the arms creeps back and my left foot turns outward, but i am holding my own

1:53 pm

not a big deal, it's all mechanical problems :-)

1:54 pm

but still cannot catch the 25 year old college hotties:(((

1:54 pm

me either :-)

1:54 pm

lol

1:55 pm

we get older and they all stay 25 eh sue? lol

1:56 pm

now they call me "sir" and ask if i need help getting my things to my car:(

1:57 pm

if i flirt they pat me on the head, turn to their friend and say "isn,t he cute"

1:57 pm

indeed - I used to get some rude comments on my teacher evaluations when I was younger, but not any more...

1:58 pm

or "your are like the father i never had" father?? father?!..."but i am only..err..well only..let me see,i knew how old i was just yesterday"

1:59 pm

"wait my age may be here on my medic alert bracelet!"...sigh nm,the only thing it says is 20-40 year old women:(

2:00 pm

hehe

2:00 pm

lol,i dragged saide out of lurk mode! howdy sadie!

2:01 pm

hi, sadie!

2:01 pm

rofl hiya crosshair

2:01 pm

hiya sue

2:01 pm

ha, now I am the age of my students' grandparents :-(

2:02 pm

you over 40 saide? i have to watch it.one look from a under 40 and i could be laying on the floor gasping like a fish...

2:02 pm

oh yea i have a 37 yea old child who had the audacity to grow up andmake me grow up lol

2:03 pm

whew!

2:03 pm

lolol

2:03 pm

and a 28 year old daughter who had thenerve the other day to tell me she was getting old lolol

2:03 pm

i will never grow up:)

2:04 pm

im still fighting growin up now i figure kids are raised im on my own i can go back to being a kid hehe

2:05 pm

Evening all

2:05 pm

hi, kaytee!

2:05 pm

Big wave to Crossy - how are you?

2:05 pm

evening Kaytee

2:06 pm

How's everyone doing on the grid tonight?

2:06 pm

my inner child will always drag you down to the beach to show you the multi-colourd glass bits all smooth with time and tide,i will show you how to skip a stone on the water more than ten times,i will walk my darling in the forest this fall and laugh as we tilt our faces upwards into the mottled light from the tree canopy and catch a leaf as it falls,i will bring you to a secret forest river to hear it,s secret chuckling language as it dances over the stones and down it,s course to the bay...cough..time for crossy,s meds again..brb

2:06 pm

oh sorry - it's not night there, is it? lol

2:07 pm

((((kaytee))))

2:07 pm

3:06 pm here kaytee

2:07 pm

I am on babble time :-)

2:07 pm

oooh, I'm quite overcome by such a lovely response, Crossy, hehe

2:08 pm

21:07 here .. definitely night

2:08 pm

lol,i do not see you often kaytee

2:09 pm

Crossy, I've been too stupid to complete the grid for some months now. My mind is too distracted, so I don't hang around as much as I did before

2:09 pm

there is no such thing as stupid

2:10 pm

I couldn't think of an English word for what we call being 'doff'

2:10 pm

the only thing that i know that is stupid,is never doing something you want to do,or a question that is never asked

2:11 pm

I do quite a lot that I want to do lately - but still have to do too many things that I definitely DON'T want to do, lol

2:15 pm

well see? every day you must remove from your life 1 thing no matter how small that you do not wish to do,till eventually all that is left is the good stuff:)

2:16 pm

we have a older work in our language called doff, victorian era etc= to remove ones hat at in "to doff you hat to a young lady passing by"

2:17 pm

word

2:17 pm

Sounds like a good plan. But working for a living is still a necessary evil

2:17 pm

gee thats a good way to get to the good life

2:17 pm

yea..must get rid of that work thing myself...

2:17 pm

Oh, I know the English doff. Our slang is pronounced slightly differently

2:19 pm

There has been so much happening in my life I think I must have managed to get rid of a few things I didn't like. But have also taken on some that I don't really wish to do - such is life

2:24 pm

hmmpf. My mouse seems to have realized that yesterday's theme was mouse pads, and is refusing to work properly without one; which wouldn't be a problem if I had one. Which I don't.

2:25 pm

cest la vis

2:25 pm

use the back of a hard cover book sue-sans dust jacket

2:25 pm

lol @ sue - use a magazine

2:27 pm

switching out the batteries (not for new ones, just put the old ones back in) seemed to help. Am now using a file folder (green) which also seems to help.

2:27 pm

thx, all :-)

2:27 pm

:)

2:27 pm

babble,you handy wellspring of knowledge

2:29 pm

anyway, gotta write homework solutions, bbl

2:30 pm

ciao sue

2:33 pm

tc suze

2:36 pm

How are you doing with the grid, Crossy?

Any clue for er6/21. Thanks.

2:37 pm

first half is a breeze but am slowing down now kaytee

2:38 pm

er 6/21 - sexy

2:38 pm

I have only managed 78 words and I've hit a brick wall

2:38 pm

er 6/18 - make a mistake with a little insect

Ohhhhhhh. Tx wv

2:41 pm

ty kaytee

2:43 pm

lol, bit cryptic - not that anyone asked for that clue, I just liked it :)

2:43 pm

a knight er6 indeed :) ar6 is similar

2:43 pm

hello, kaytee, teach, cross, and kenny

2:44 pm

hi dcseain

2:44 pm

hi dc

2:44 pm

thnx for ar6

2:44 pm

ah, thanks dc

2:44 pm

and, there's the elementary school getting home. Schools opened here today.

2:45 pm

my younger nephew started Kindergarten, wonder how it went.

2:46 pm

granddaughter started middle of Aug - loved it, but got a note home saying she talks too much

2:46 pm

Kids went back to school today here as well, after the winter break

2:46 pm

how long is winter break there?

2:47 pm

here, they get 1-2 weeks in Dec/Jan

2:48 pm

trick or tr7s come on 31 Oct :)

2:50 pm

I think this was a 3 week break. They get about 6 weeks at the end of the year.

2:50 pm

ah, so you have a longer school year than is usual here, which i think is a good thing.

2:50 pm

I'm guessing - don't have any school-going kids so I've lost touch with school holidays. Only notice the difference in traffic

2:51 pm

that is, i favor a longer school year

2:51 pm

howdy dc

2:51 pm

Yes, your kids have months off over your summer, don't they?

2:51 pm

they do. it sucked.

2:52 pm

here, they were tossing around the ideas of year long schooling or a 10:00 am to 4 :00 pm schedule so the high school darling would not be so traumatized getting up early in the morn

2:52 pm

I just can't figure out what you do with your kids over such a long time. Can you take that much leave from work?

2:52 pm

through my 5th year of school, we never got more than 5 weeks off at a time.

2:53 pm

10 to 4? That's not a day!

2:53 pm

No, people enroll kids in childcare, day camps, sleep over camps, the kids play outside insofar as the heat and humidity allow, they spend hours at the pool...

2:54 pm

my HS has an 8-4 day, and did when i was there, too.

2:54 pm

Expensive either way. I'm glad our breaks are so much shorter! It's not safe to let kids go out and do their own thing here.

2:54 pm

my son was blessed,he had 4 years of horse summer camp.2 weeks in july and 2 weeks in auguast.when i was a child,i had to fend for myself lol

2:54 pm

around here, HS is usually 7-2, MS 8-3, and ES 8:30 or 9 to 3:30 or 4.

2:55 pm

Crossy, when we were kids it was safe to fend for yourself. Not anymore

2:55 pm

My daughter would have thought she'd died and gone to heaven if she could have had 4 weeks of horse camp!

2:55 pm

we used to spend weeks hiking at the local national park with a park ranger or two guiding us, a group of about 25 6-13 year olds

2:56 pm

here the h.s is now 8:00 am to 3:00 pm and a single lunch for all, they eliminated the split lunch times

2:56 pm

you are right kaytee, and my som was very lucky to get horse camp

2:57 pm

i spent several summers in summer school in orchestra. that was much fun.

2:57 pm

400 dollars for each 2 week visit

2:57 pm

that's very reasonably priced

2:59 pm

they get boys and girls bunkhouses and all the fod they can eat, swimming ock climbing, arhery et etc

2:59 pm

The biggest problem for working mothers here is the December holidays - day care and after school centres all close for the silly season.

2:59 pm

food

2:59 pm

rock

2:59 pm

archery

2:59 pm

lol

2:59 pm

darn

2:59 pm

my fat fingers

2:59 pm

finger trouble?

3:00 pm

my one hand is almost the size of the keybard, makes it hard

3:00 pm

*takes platter of snacks to the PB for crossy

3:00 pm

hi everyone!

3:00 pm

6ft 2 240 pounds,my fists are the size of a canned ham lol

3:00 pm

hi lb

3:00 pm

hi kaytee

3:01 pm

howdy lbd

3:01 pm

hi lb

3:01 pm

Are you using a laptop, Crossy?

3:01 pm

hi crossy, hi DC

3:01 pm

no,my desk rig

3:01 pm

lappys are very, very hard for me

3:01 pm

here, in the city, centers open specifically to provide free lunches for the kids.

3:01 pm

You need a lap. lol

3:01 pm

Then your keyboard is already as big as it's going to get, lol

3:02 pm

Hi All.

3:02 pm

We're lucky to have a regional network of Police Boys and Girl Clubs that give them somewhere semi-structured to go with supervision

3:02 pm

Why would the kids be in the city to start with?

3:02 pm

hi hego

3:02 pm

hi hego

3:02 pm

we also have a free breakfast program at the schools dc,that way a child can always grab a bowl of cerial and a piece of fruit before first class

3:02 pm

they live there

3:02 pm

.. other than homeless kids, that is

3:03 pm

we have ~600k people that in the center city

3:04 pm

yes, we have free/reduced breakfasts in the schools too.

3:04 pm

we have over 1.5 million in the toronto area kaytee, but i am far north of that mess

3:04 pm

Our inner city is mainly populated by homeless people, squatters and illegal immigrants - and the Nigerian druglords of course

3:04 pm

also, we have a complex of free museums in the middle of the city that some kids hang out in during breaks

3:04 pm

This is silly. I'm just typing in words with lots of r's, t's, and e's.

3:05 pm

lol hego, that is what i am doinbg right now

3:05 pm

me too, hego :) do you have the sodium ci7?

3:05 pm

welcome to the grid hego. it's a tricky one

3:05 pm

it uses several of those letters

3:05 pm

yes, Seain

3:05 pm

I remember catching a bus from a hotel near the airport in Toronto and travelling to some large shopping centre. It was very clean in the city then, compared to home

3:05 pm

figured you did :)

3:06 pm

there are a pair of it 7,s that use em as well

3:06 pm

Canada is freakishly clean

3:06 pm

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is the dirtiest city i have yet visited, on the other hand

3:06 pm

we think of toronto as a garbage dump compared to what we are used to kaytee, but they have serveral world renound hospitals

3:06 pm

lol dc

3:07 pm

Apart from the suspect weather, the main thing I didn't like about Toronto was how difficult it was for a tourist to get decent food.

3:07 pm

what can i tell you dc,we hate a messy street

3:07 pm

Montreal is about food :)

3:07 pm

what kind of food were you looking for, kaytee?

3:08 pm

good thing about the weather here kaytee,is that if you do not like the current weather just wait 15 minutes and you will get something different:)

3:08 pm

lb - anything with vegetables!

3:08 pm

Vegetarian food is harder the further North you go, but on the West Coast it's easy to find.

3:09 pm

ahhh, must have been there before or after harvest.

3:09 pm

here for vegitarian food you must seek out the indian or thai places

3:09 pm

but at harvest time we are awash in fresh veggies

3:09 pm

italian is good too, if you eat cheese

3:09 pm

I'm not vegetarian, I just wanted vegetables. Got so tired of pizza and other junk food

3:10 pm

that's why i said after harvest...when everything is already sent off or processed

3:10 pm

ah, gotcha.

3:10 pm

our corn and apples and taters are now coming out of the fields,3 weeks ago there were baskets of peaches so juicy you had to eat them outside or over the sink;)

3:10 pm

when my niece first moved to DC's ar4, she said the same thing...had to really scrounge for fresh veggies

3:11 pm

the cabbages and lettuce are due out soon as well

3:11 pm

having grown up here, never had a problem, though it's gotten easier since the mid-80s

3:11 pm

Why is retar not a word???

3:11 pm

i love cabbage

3:11 pm

it doesn't take retin either, who knows

3:11 pm

all the berries were last month as well as beans peas etc

3:11 pm

i tried it too, Hego

3:11 pm

It was actually about this time of year that we were there. My daughter was about 4 at the time and didn't like anything except pizza and an amazing flavour ice cream we discovered

3:12 pm

won't take reta4, as a scale, either

3:12 pm

put a d on the end hego

3:12 pm

sounds logical

3:12 pm

which flavour was that?

3:12 pm

I had that Crossy, tx

3:12 pm

lovely flower, hego

3:12 pm

you needed a guide kaytee,to show you all the marvelous food we have to offer

3:13 pm

cool, love the zebra, kaytee :)

3:13 pm

dc, I think it was praline. I'd never tasted (or even heard of) it, but absolutely loved it

3:13 pm

ty Seain

3:13 pm

finding the farmers markets are key too!

3:13 pm

like in motreal go a a nice smoked meat place for a massive sandwich with coleslaw and a kosher picle

3:13 pm

you'd probably like butter pecan then also, kaytee

3:13 pm

crossy, clearly - but my husband was working with Wardair so I just had to muck around on my own, finding buses and stuff

3:14 pm

dc, sounds delicious

3:14 pm

well nest time you are here, come up to crossy,s and we will show you all the good stuff

3:14 pm

when i think of pralines, i think of the south, specifically New Orleans

3:15 pm

lol @ crossy - there won't be a next time. He's now my ex husband and no longer works for an airline anyway

3:15 pm

http://tinyurl.com/4xtcffw is a recipe for better pecan ice cream, from making the pecans through the custard

3:15 pm

:((

3:15 pm

hi again all, still writing homework solutions but can't stay away from babble :-)

3:15 pm

What is a praline, anyway?

3:15 pm

praline and butter pecan are popular in the Great Lakes and the South

3:15 pm

hey lbd....

3:16 pm

Hi UU

3:16 pm

maple walnut.butterscotch ripple,tiger stripe,mint chip..mmmm

3:16 pm

hi shoo

3:16 pm

Hi to everyone else too

3:16 pm

howdy shoo

3:16 pm

a praline is a carmelized pecan

3:16 pm

lets skype.

3:16 pm

hi shooshoo

3:16 pm

hi

3:16 pm

hi, lbd, shoo, and everyone

3:16 pm

pralines, pecans and lots of hardened caramel

3:16 pm

k

3:16 pm

wb sue

3:16 pm

hi sue and shooo

3:16 pm

howdy

3:17 pm

wow . . . . just watched "Hanna" -- really gooood!!

3:17 pm

so praline isn't a nut, it's a process?

3:17 pm

pralines . . . YUM

3:17 pm

correct, kaytee

3:17 pm

i'm on skype, waiting for you to sign in, shoo

3:17 pm

hi, une

3:17 pm

lbd..you call me..i tried you a few mins ago..and no luck.

3:17 pm

skype rocks:)

3:17 pm

praline is a candy and praline with accent on the e is a flavor

3:17 pm

ha - just got past halfway. Better go back to writing. Will be in and out.

3:17 pm

pralines are a candy, Kaytee

3:17 pm

have fun, sue

3:17 pm

I haven't Skyped for months

3:18 pm

pralines have pecans and carmelised sugar.

3:18 pm

hey, seain :-)

3:18 pm

shoo, skype say's you aren't online

3:18 pm

dark brown sugar . . . mmmm

3:19 pm

and, like meringues, you can't really make them on a really humid day . . . they won't "set"

3:19 pm

Oh goody, food porn!

3:19 pm

That butter pecan ice cream recipe looks lovely - don't have an ice cream maker though

3:20 pm

yes, today is a bad day for meringues, pralines and fudge here. it's raining

3:20 pm

Baskin Robbins used to have a very tasty pralines and cream flavor . . .

3:20 pm

you can still make the pecans and eat them plain, or with some whipped cream :)

3:20 pm

true, seain LOL!!!!

3:20 pm

Yum :-9

3:20 pm

toasted sugared pecans YUM!!

3:20 pm

kaytee you do not need a machine, just 2 large pots ,some ice and some salt

3:21 pm

What does an ice cream machine do?

3:21 pm

crossy, and how do you use them?

3:21 pm

Crossy is low tech. : )

3:21 pm

it chills and stirs the ice cream, So, fill a large pot with ice and salt, set a smaller pot in, and stir, stir, stir

3:21 pm

we used to have a hand-cranked ice cream machine :-)

3:22 pm

use kosher salt, aka rock salt, not table salt

3:22 pm

hego, I don't think I even know anyone who has an ice cream maker - that's an unmentionable luxury!

3:22 pm

i have an electric one that uses ice and salt for the chilling.

3:22 pm

make sure one pot is 2 inches in diameter smaller than the other, place it inside the larger, fill the space between with ice and sprinkle salt over the ice..now for all ice cream you start with a base of 2 part milk to 1 part cream and then either glucose, honey or liquid sugar, then you add your flavorings...

3:22 pm

I have 2 actually.

3:22 pm

there used to be a tearoom here in NashVegas where an elderly black gentleman sat on the front porch hand cranking ice cream . . .

3:22 pm

thanks dc - can I use an electric beater to stir?

3:22 pm

shades of "The Help"

3:23 pm

But thay are very inexpensive ones.

3:23 pm

best to scrape by hand with large wooden spatula

3:23 pm

yes you can, kaytee, be sure to get into the corners, may want a rubber spatula also

3:23 pm

yes, wood works too :)

3:23 pm

When I've made ice cream before, I've just mixed it up and stuck it in the freezer

3:23 pm

seain, you've got me salivating for homemade ice cream!!

3:24 pm

Hey! Hi Une.

3:24 pm

always 2 parts milk,1 part cream and berries must be fresh,or a nice butterscotch sauce

3:24 pm

hey, hego :-)

3:24 pm

i go to a 4-day camping event early each summer where we make 60 or 70 flavors :)

3:24 pm

my mom first made a custard cream . . .

3:25 pm

OMG, how fabulous!!

3:25 pm

a 4-day ice cream camp? wow

3:25 pm

if put in freezer, stirring periodically, you get gelato, which is Italian ice cream

3:25 pm

you can also use corn syrup rather than glucose

3:25 pm

I start with cooked custard.

3:25 pm

How does gelato differ from regular ice cream?

3:25 pm

It's more of a gelato.

3:25 pm

gelato isn't as smooth

3:25 pm

i've made custard-based, sherbet-based, and non-custard based, all successfully

3:25 pm

Snap!

3:26 pm

hego does the real deal!!

3:26 pm

a tradiation gelato is more like flavoured ice, like limone or spomone

3:26 pm

corn syrup? glucose? wow, your ice cream is obviously different to ours

3:26 pm

Kay, gelato is custard based and lower in buttercream.

3:26 pm

eh, chocolate, strawberry, whole rainbow of flavors

3:26 pm

those are but options kaytee,i use raw sugar cane and melt it in a doubble boiler

3:26 pm

thanks hego

3:26 pm

corn syrup and/or glucose is not required, all depends on the texture you're seeking.

3:27 pm

my grandmother used to make peach ice cream (Lousiana) with those huge juicy summer peaches . . .

3:27 pm

That's why the flavers are more intense.

3:27 pm

Uh, flavors.

3:27 pm

lol @ dc - I don't know if I've ever seen corn syrup in the shops

3:27 pm

peach ice cream is a nice light refreshing mix

3:27 pm

NO corn syrup!

3:27 pm

you can substitute kaytee

3:28 pm

i never use corn syrup, aka karo syrup

3:28 pm

i do sometimes put in a bit of lyle's golden syrup

3:28 pm

but it's required for a good pecan pie! LOL

3:28 pm

we are not locked into corn syrup here my friends lol

3:28 pm

just an option

3:28 pm

ah yes

3:28 pm

yes it is, une :)

3:28 pm

crossy, I'd have to substitute half the ingredients, most american recipes are like a foreign language to me. And the Australian ones are even worse

3:29 pm

my friend's mother makes a wonderful chocolat pecan pie

3:29 pm

well you know dem aussies..:)

3:29 pm

ah, I DO know Lyles golden syrup!

3:29 pm

i made some for my mom's caregivers, seain, and they loved it BUT they preferred the traditional Karo syrup recipe :-)

3:30 pm

(the choc. pecan pie)

3:30 pm

you could even use molasas i suppose, but it may be too intense

3:30 pm

pecan pie w/out corn syrup is good, but not at all the same.

Treacle!

3:30 pm

ah, i lke the chocolate pecan better myself

3:30 pm

true!

3:30 pm

mailman just came -- back in a mo *poof*

3:30 pm

treacle indeed!

3:31 pm

mmmm treacle even better than golden syrup as sub for cornsyrup, good call, neil

3:31 pm

the food porn is nearing orgasmic levels now!

3:31 pm

now for the toppings on the ice cream

3:31 pm

I can't even imagine what corn syrup must be .. didn't know there was any sweetness in a corn plant

3:32 pm

You trying to make me laugh Neazle?

3:32 pm

lol much of our refined sure here kaytee comes from beets

3:32 pm

I think it's time for bed, have to go to work tomorrow

3:32 pm

Crossy is the king of food porn. :-D

3:32 pm

corn syrup is concentrated fructose derived from corn.

3:32 pm

sugar

3:32 pm

G'nite Kay

3:32 pm

Could be, Poundcake. ;)

3:32 pm

WTF. the water was has high as the curb and it has been raining off and on all day. may still have to go out one more time to clear off the leaves. water is still gushing into the grate so no prob at the moment

3:46 pm

i have a couple more options...i will try those tomorrow

3:46 pm

you aunts money would be better used to pay all your schooling now,not getting it 20 or 30 years from now, there is much to be said in the favour of a living inheritance

3:46 pm

sorry to hear, carlee

3:47 pm

and peri, i think it's good to clear the leaves now.

3:47 pm

3:47 pm

<carlee falls over in a faint> peri said WTF?

3:47 pm

well tell you sis peri, that if we all did nothing, then nothing would get done;)

Yes, you have to get the leaves out of there right away, geez.

That first re 5/10 word is to sprint again Dorens.

8:51 pm

it's the te6/18

8:51 pm

yes min i know, i thought peri asked for it

8:51 pm

Oops, I meant periwinkle

8:51 pm

1st te6/18 is one who rips things up.

8:52 pm

ok. so long as we all know who we are :)

8:52 pm

my last word is the 2nd re6/18 help pls

8:52 pm

ok. i have 3 te6/18s. will keep looking :) thanks.

8:52 pm

bottom right is te 6/18 the second

8:53 pm

Dorens - we have a fascinating TV programme over here in UK called 'Who Do You Think You Are?' It traces famous people's family roots. I assume they only bother following up the ones who actually have interesting family roots.

8:53 pm

got it :) nbt.

8:53 pm

they have a similar show here in the US Jac

8:53 pm

we have that show here as well, Jac

8:53 pm

right jac.... doubt that they'd do my family...eastern european jews!!

8:54 pm

peri - 2nd re6/18 = to ea4 wages again.

8:54 pm

they did Gwenyth Paltrow and found a rabbi on her fathers side

8:54 pm

That re 6/18 word is to make money again perwinkle.

8:54 pm

( i have an absolute allergy to reality shows and most tv in general i guess)

8:54 pm

well yes, her father is jewish

8:55 pm

thanks Jac and Min. I never ever see that word

8:55 pm

fw for me

8:55 pm

y/w peri.

8:55 pm

yay peri!

8:55 pm

(was)

8:55 pm

byeeee

8:55 pm

me neither peri.. didn't have it... yay for you!

8:56 pm

Bye peri, see you on our word game on FB.x

8:56 pm

Congratulations perwinkle on fireworks!Good for you

8:56 pm

Goodbye perwinkle! I will see you tomorrow in the log

8:56 pm

Dorens - I think they WOULD be interested in your family roots.

8:57 pm

if you've seen one jewish shtetl, you've seen them all

8:57 pm

Your family moved/had to move and the background to why that was would be interesting.

8:57 pm

<---Has the same allergy as Dorens to reality shows. Like THAT is reality.

8:58 pm

Dorens - don't do your family down! Each story is of interest. Well, it is to me because people interest me.

8:59 pm

okeydoke jacs. point well taken. i'm just thinking that people don't really like to look at the "reality" of how the jews were treated throughout europe for so long

8:59 pm

Ditto to Molly and Dorens re reality shows, but I do find the family tree ones interesting.

9:00 pm

Had to call a halt on going back through my own because all the branches and stories attached to each individual in them was taking up too much of my time. Knowing which line to concentrate on was a dilemma. I'll get back to it as and when.

9:01 pm

That is a sad reality Dorens. I got queasy in The Holocaust Museum and I never even made it up to the third floor where I've been told, all the really powerful stuff is.

9:02 pm

Dorens - not me! In fact, I was having a discussion about that very subject with my son last night. He studied that particular section of history for his degree some years ago. What we were both trying to fathom was WHERE anti-Semitism actually began and why.

9:02 pm

it's easier for folks to blame it all on hitler and the germans, but antisemitism was rampant throughout europe from time immemorial ( or at least the spanish inquisition)... and of course, jacs, not you!! babblers are different! we really DO rock

9:03 pm

Where does Anti-Anything begin? Mostly with one group of people wanting to feel superior to another. Blech.

9:03 pm

Hitler had studied old folk legends that lead him to some of his misguided beliefs.

9:03 pm

remember the church blamed christ's crucifixion on the jews. But i never understood that... He was a jew. And didn't he have to die for everyones' sins anyway?

9:04 pm

molly, next time i'm in dc we'll go to the third floor together ok?

9:05 pm

Okay Dorens, you might have to hold my hand though.

9:05 pm

no problem (unless you have very sweaty palms!)

9:06 pm

Dorens - it was actually the Romans who crucified Christ, but, apparently, the Jews who chose him over a murder to be saved. But you have to remember that the scriptures about what happened back then were written by scribes many, many years later who had been given an agenda to stick to. So, don't always believe what you read.

9:07 pm

And let us not forget the Gnostic Gospels, that tell a very different story of the life of Jesus. Those are all, um, locked up in The Vatican. Hmmm.

9:07 pm

Well, most of them anyway.

9:08 pm

Oh yuck! Sweaty palms! That takes me back to Scottish Country Dance lessons at junior school, and the lad called Brett I was often forced to partner. Then there was David with the bleeding and crusty warts on his fingers. My teacher used to yell at me for not wanting to hold hands with them. (I used to offer only the tip of my little finger.) LOL

9:08 pm

the whole story was very fishy

9:09 pm

The Gnostic Gospels are probably much nearer the truth.

9:09 pm

molly, i found the memorial to the deported martyrs in paris to be very chilling. first of all, it's so hidden, you really have to work to find it...and then again, the well-known anti-semitism of the french (which doesn't offend me nearly as much as other jews... I am a francophile actually)

9:10 pm

A spiritually ascended man lived his life in peace and told people to love one another. The political slant that has been taken on that since he died is astounding.

9:11 pm

i know!! how many people have thought about how HE would view what is done in the name of his church?

9:12 pm

Dorens - I have thought about that nearly every day of my life since I went to a Church school and wa told their version of his story.

9:12 pm

The thing is, he never really had a church. That all came later. People "claiming" that "their" church, "their religion" was based on his teachings.

9:13 pm

true. he had a flock, a following and he would have abhorred the church with all its trappings ( imho)

9:14 pm

and all the fights within the "christian" community about which among them were the true church? and holy wars... all in the name of this peaceful man?

9:14 pm

I don't claim to subscribe to any religion now except that of mother earth, perhaps described as Paganism. I don't know if God exists or if Jesus was his son, but I do know that Jesus was the first hippy and that most of what we are told he said makes sense.

9:15 pm

He abhorred men trying to be 'above' other men and would have hated all the trappings of the Popery and other churches.

9:16 pm

agree with that... he was the first hippie and his teachings are great. i often preach to my students...just follow the golden rule and life would be terrific if we all did

9:16 pm

so how come we see that jacs, and the church and all the people who've followed over the years don't?

9:17 pm

Jesus preached on hilltops and in fields of flowers. He knew that nature was the thing we should revere, not poppinjays in gold cloaks with proclamations in their hands.

9:17 pm

peter was the rock upon which the church was founded

9:17 pm

peter had the dream three times to "feed my sheep"

9:18 pm

thus peter was considered the first pope

9:18 pm

See Jac, I told you we were twin sisters of different Mothers. Mother Earth is where I find my Source. I am a Pagan by nature.

9:18 pm

(not bad for a quaker)

9:18 pm

hi all

9:18 pm

Dorens - I've no id4 why people don't see that. I think those 'in power' in churches do, but they need to either feel powerful or make money and so they close their eyes to it.

9:19 pm

uh idea is not in the grid jac

9:19 pm

but that is why quakers rejected steeple houses and hireling ministers

9:20 pm

jmc - Oh, isn't it? That must've been yesterday's grid, or maybe tomorrow's. Did I tell you I am psychic?

9:20 pm

hi jmc and yes, the quakers are admirable?

9:20 pm

hahaha no doubt jac-- i thought it was too til i tried it

9:20 pm

O:-)

9:20 pm

Hi JMC. The Bible is a great book, written by inspired men. Not all of it is based in fact however. A+ on your Quaker interpretation from the Catholic school girl. : )

9:21 pm

Hello everyone--I mostly lurk these days, but, as a priest, thought I would briefly join this conversation. The execution of Jesus is documented in places outside the gospels--Pilate, of course, was the Roman governor at the time--In the Christianity that I practice, however, we do not lay blame on Jews or, really, on Romans for Jesus's sentencing. True, he was a peaceful man, but, also, a wonderful rabble rouser who challenged the status quo at every turn--and became a political threat to the powers that be, mainly because he had a huge following, honored the poor, ate with tax collectors--you know all this. The gnostic gospels are actually quite available and readable--and the church is fallible, being made up of human beings. I don't dispute that. But I would draw your attention to Catholic Charities and Episcopal Relief and Development, two highly rated charities. It is easy to condemn the church, and I agree that Jesus wouldn't recognize himself in what many call Christianity, but there are thousands of Christians out there also living the gospel. Well, sorry, that wasn't brief at all.

9:22 pm

haha well that is part of why we rejected hireling ministers mira ;-)

9:22 pm

hmmph. natto IS TOO a word. *grumblemumble* silly grumbling dictionary

9:23 pm

The lack of brevity, I take it, jmc?

9:23 pm

but ty for sharing in this discussion we would never want to drive people away from conversation who willing to politely put forth their views

9:23 pm

what does natto mean jes?

9:23 pm

yes mirandapan there is much good done by the catholic church and others.... i am aware and don't mean to denigrate or sound disrespectful. But so much negativity has occurred, and I've been told that 50 - 60 years ago the catholic church did still teach that jews were responsible.. hope i'm wron

9:23 pm

I always try that too jes

9:23 pm

Hi mirandapan. Thank yo for adding to the discussion. I don't dispute that many people live acording to pagan beliefs, which is what Jesus preached. However, I don't think modern day so-called Christianity has anything in common with what Jesus preached.

9:23 pm

haha yes mira the lack of brevity

9:23 pm

it's a japanese dish, fermented soybeans i think.

9:24 pm

Good points Miranda. I have no problem with another person's interpretation of the life of Jesus. We would all do well to adhere to what he taught and leave the politics alone.

9:24 pm

well jac i would argue that quakers are modern christians who make a point of living up to what jesus taught including loving our enemies

9:24 pm

ty jes i never knew that

9:25 pm

are all the c words ci?

9:25 pm

welcome. and all the c words i have are ci

9:25 pm

i'm still missing one though.

9:26 pm

Yes, all ci, and 3 of them are related

9:26 pm

:-(((

9:26 pm

Molly is right, if we start actually looking at what Catholic, C of E, Baptist and all the rest of the established churches stand for, we will still find a power structure at the top. The whole point of Jesus' teachings is that there is just you and God/Nature, call it what you will.

9:26 pm

yes ci's

9:26 pm

hi grem :)

9:26 pm

jess all four begin with the same three letters

9:27 pm

the problem with most churches is that they are devised by men

9:27 pm

Hi gremlinn! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.

9:27 pm

Miranda, glad you jumped in. I appreciate all points of view on the subject. And I learn from them.

9:27 pm

Actually, Jac--Jesus taught community. He chose 12 disciples, right? So his religion was not individualistic, but it was not, as you point out, hierarchical.

9:27 pm

Hello Mirandapan! How are you doing? Welcome to grid

9:27 pm

found the last ci

9:27 pm

hey grem you barreled through again i saw

9:28 pm

hehe, yep, I got on a roll

9:28 pm

it was mildly hierarchical--he was the teacher

9:28 pm

jmc - Maybe, re your point about Quakers, but they don't allow alcohol or gifts or Christmas, do they? Jesus wasn't against having a party - he turned water to wine. (Wish I could do that!)

9:29 pm

haha not all quakers are that strict -- you know i love my jack

9:29 pm

think that's seventh day adventists jac

9:29 pm

mirandapan - Glad you got my point. The heirarchy is where it al goes wrong.

9:29 pm

Miranda, I think Jesus was a very humble man, who spoke of the best values in life, who was misinterpreted more than he should have been.

9:29 pm

think we're all in agreement there molly

9:30 pm

we reject the holidays because they are quite frankly made up -- no one knows the day that Jesus was born or died (although there is an approximatel time for the death since we know it was around passover

9:30 pm

hi herin

9:30 pm

Dorens - in UK, that's the Quaker way. I should know, I worked for a computer firm for many years that was owned by Quakers.

How goes it

9:30 pm

no dorens jac is correct--quakers rejected holidays and drinking

9:30 pm

hi herin

Plus a lot of the Christian holidays are actually Pagan holidays

9:31 pm

i stand corrected... falling asleep here. five words to stumble through

9:31 pm

and in the uk many still do

9:31 pm

Easter and Christmas, at least.

9:31 pm

exactly herin

9:31 pm

With all due respect JMC, that is why I could not espouse that kind of spirituality. I think there is a great need for celebration, no matter how you interpret what that celebration is about.

9:31 pm

go dorens go!

9:31 pm

Hi, Min--thanks for your responses everyone. I play almost everyday, and love to read the chog--it's just that I'm pretty busy (but not in seeking to be powerful, really, I'm not)

9:31 pm

Hi herinfernallady! How are you? Welcome to the grid

9:31 pm

I have kept quiet because I actually do not believe in any of this but don't want to accidentally offend.

9:32 pm

well jump into the chog anytime mira--the more the merrier i think

9:32 pm

we are too mirandapan, glad you decided to join us today

9:32 pm

well grem you would have to work hard to offend me because i do not give a flying f*** if others do not believe

9:32 pm

If you don't believe in any of it, why do you play game

9:33 pm

i will not impose my beliefs but i will state them

9:33 pm

too busy to be playing this silly game every day... even going to the library or friends' houses every day for a week when i had no power, just for this silly game

9:33 pm

Min: I mean the theology/spirituality stuff, not the game.

9:33 pm

Oh, I thought you meant you did not believe in Babble

9:33 pm

hahaha min i think you misunderstood grem!

9:33 pm

haha babble believes in you! hahahahahaha

9:33 pm

The grid is a lie!

9:33 pm

if i believe in babble hard enough, will the grid complete itself? :D

9:33 pm

That's what happens when you're in an out of the log.

9:33 pm

Thanks, all. You are a great group--I do keep up with all of you regulars by reading the chog--your beautiful and complicated lives.

9:34 pm

down with the false god of babble!

9:34 pm

babble can become our religion gremlinn... i too am pretty much of a non-believer... i much prefer nature

9:34 pm

Never !! Hello all I love being a part of all this.

9:34 pm

hi west

9:34 pm

hi westford

9:35 pm

I've been reading back and I'm so proud of all of us.

9:35 pm

Hi dorens and jmc

9:35 pm

There is a spirituality in believing in Nature. It would negate my soul to say I believe in nothing.

9:35 pm

0000:-)

9:35 pm

westford... that thing about the blues? terrific

9:35 pm

yeah... nature is as spiritual as i can get!

9:35 pm

thanks dorens I thought it was good enough to share

9:35 pm

yes the blues essay is great!

But I also believe in what every makes you how are is what makes you

9:36 pm

Hi westford! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid

9:37 pm

hi min doing well..playing my favorite game and watching Inspector Lewis

9:37 pm

I have some pretty unconventional beliefs. I don't accept the notion of free will (as most people would define it) for example.

9:37 pm

I've always thought that the operative word is BELIEF...however you choose to do that.

9:37 pm

min have you started back to work?

9:37 pm

love inspector lewis

9:37 pm

absolutey herin... and whatever you believe in is just fine.. as long as you don't step on anyone else's toes

9:37 pm

Went for what's coyly called 'a comfort break' and came back to find an explosion of posts here. Someone, perhaps Herin (Hi Herin!) pointed out that many Christian festivals fall on days when pagan festivals do/did. Yes, that's because the priests had to convince the 'simple folk' that God knew what their festivals were and He thought of them first.

9:38 pm

<---Thinks Grem may be my oldest son, playing under a name I don't recognize. (Although he would not use that icon)

9:38 pm

If I am your oldest son, I shall have to mourn the death of my brother.

9:39 pm

jmc Lewis is a good successor for Morse.

9:39 pm

i am in awe of my mother's intolerance for others ... She is a rabid atheist/agnostic depending on the month or year, but she is absolutely dismissive of people who believe in God... started arguing with her 88 year old sister at a dinner at m house just cause my aunt wanted to thank God for having us all together. mean-spirited i think

9:39 pm

Mourn away son, both of your brothers are alive and well.

9:39 pm

i was so sad when morse died

9:39 pm

me too what a great guy he was

9:40 pm

Hi Westford.

9:40 pm

The key is to mock silly ideas, not silly people.

9:40 pm

hi jac

9:40 pm

Although it's a fine line and easy to stray from the first to the second.

9:40 pm

much nicer i think gremlinn

9:40 pm

Westford, I was saying earlier how much I enjoyed your thing about the rules of writing blues lyrics. I've written many and I'm glad to see I haven't sinned.

9:40 pm

I have this horrible linguistic stumbling block being intolerant of intolerance.

Also I tend to follow teh weather rather than dates for seasons. Like Winter was gong to be long and mild based on teh 2 weeks before solstaice

9:41 pm

you can mock me!!!! i be a silly person!!!

9:41 pm

I mock your punctuation!

9:41 pm

Now, Jac--that's not true. The folk were not simple--neither the Jews who celebrated the passover or the Christians, Easter--and God did not come up with thosse dates. It's well acknowledged that men did. And, right, they are not accurate. But they are sacred. We have an adopted son, for example, and we do not know how old he is, but we have established a birth date for him--we would never think of not celebrating it just because we aren't sure when he was born.

9:41 pm

*runs through the chog buck nekkid*

9:41 pm

pb herin

9:41 pm

Westford,I've gone back to work.I started last week.

9:41 pm

*cover eyes* Must you? Now cover up!

9:42 pm

i mock your lack of puntuation!!!!

9:42 pm

The kids started today. We are going up to 8th grade

What?

9:42 pm

*flappita flappita*

9:42 pm

*sings The Streak* as jam runs by

What did I say

9:42 pm

i especially love letting my belly flap inthe wind

9:43 pm

jac, glad you saw and liked it, min are the kids back too?

9:43 pm

jmc you'll catch your death of cold

9:43 pm

nah it be hot here

9:43 pm

I think "sacred" is what you hold onto as your personal, spiritual belief. And I have always found it amusing that all you have to do is move some letters to change "scared" to "sacred".

9:43 pm

*she's not rude, she's not crude, she's just in the mood to run in the nude...*

9:44 pm

weeeeeeeeeeee

9:44 pm

Mirandapan - I didn't say that I thought the people were simple or that God set the celebration dates. I said that men who considered themselves respresentatives of God did both.

9:44 pm

good point molly same with unclear and nuclear

9:44 pm

Fallible men, who had found some kind of power and wanted to keep it.

9:44 pm

Or colonialists and oscillations?

9:45 pm

dog god

9:45 pm

Sorry, Jac--must have been reading too fast--the chog is like a train that left the station--apologies.

9:45 pm

arf arf arf

The way I see religion is that it is the same painting but how we see it is different

9:45 pm

Yes westford. The students started today. We are in full swing & we're re 4/5y to have a year of test prep

9:45 pm

Hush son, quit flaunting your gigantic brain power.

9:46 pm

dog god?! you heretic! He's OBVIOUSLY a jackal!

9:46 pm

i love that min and west are trying to have a reasonable conversation

9:46 pm

god dog?

9:46 pm

conversation...or conservation?

9:46 pm

I wish you a very successful year min and students who are nothing but adorable

9:46 pm

I love babble chats lol

Never understood that Dog/God thing when it is clear cats are the Gods

9:47 pm

they are trying to conserve reason

9:47 pm

Because dogs are lazy, but a CAT will ACT!

9:47 pm

they are trying to converse reasonably

9:47 pm

god loves a cat

9:47 pm

Thanks westford. I already know that some students won't be so adorable. There'll be some good ones too.

9:47 pm

our friend's 3 year old was learning to read and said " Dog is Love" how could we correct her?

9:47 pm

Ha, taco cat? Ah.

9:48 pm

oh... The Cat Who Went to Heaven is a mighty good story, if anybody cares. it may make you cry though.

9:48 pm

Oh God, Grem is my son. First talking about eating babies, now about taco cats.

9:48 pm

"herinfernallady ProfileAustralia Th e way I see religion is that it is the same painting but how we see it is different

9:48 pm

Speaking of cats jes our Lucy of the bedroom decided to come downstairs and has been wreaking havoc with the other female

9:48 pm

mmmm tacos

9:49 pm

excellent, west! :)

9:49 pm

hopefully not a cat taco

9:49 pm

That's not only poetic but a very quotable quote, Herin.

9:49 pm

we have them in separate houses for the time being

9:49 pm

but at least she's coming out instead of cowering :)

9:49 pm

I had to leave my cat in California when I moved.

9:50 pm

oh that is sad grem

Feel free to pinch Jac.

9:50 pm

She's well taken care of now though.

O Grem :(

9:50 pm

She thinks she's Queen of the World now..I thought that was my title.

9:50 pm

if i get the job in england i will have to leave my cat behind too

9:50 pm

Will do, Herin!

West that is cute

9:50 pm

Nice Herin. It is the same painting. And how you see it doesn't matter, as long as you see something.

9:50 pm

so it was a new job in ill for you grem?

9:50 pm

yep

9:50 pm

hi herin

9:51 pm

teaching?

9:51 pm

jmc could you leave cat with your son?

9:51 pm

Nope, math software company

9:51 pm

interesting what is a math software co?

9:52 pm

how nice for you grem

9:52 pm

my son wants to rent out his basement and *ahem* my cat does not use a litter box

9:52 pm

Programs that do math and other neat things, some of them on the web

9:52 pm

coolio so like quickbooks and intuit stuff?

9:52 pm

Howc come when I'm in the mountains in North Wales, where I was first inspired to write, I CAN write, but when I get home just over 100 miles away with cell phone reception, fast internet connection etc., no one leaves me alone, so I come on here, and I get no writing done. Writing is what brings in the bread. AARGH!

9:53 pm

I work on www.wolframalpha.com

9:53 pm

brb

9:53 pm

I have wolfram bookmarked

9:54 pm

13 left

9:54 pm

Because you have lost your muse Jac. Hint...hint...nudge...nudge...go back to where you are inspired.

I need to stop putting in reeat

9:54 pm

west: I was a fan of it so I was really glad that I got accepted when I applied there

9:54 pm

hmmm its stats on the society of friends are a bit da**ed--1969

9:55 pm

it is so good to work where you are excited about what you are doing grem--lucky you!!!!

9:55 pm

yep, and I actually live in a place where it will get snow, now

9:55 pm

I'd also like to know how is it that even if people know you make your living from writing, they don't condier it a Proper Job and think it's okay to call, visit, come into your office to chat and generally interupt your train of thought? I've lost count of the number of stories I've lost this way.

9:56 pm

i did that for 12 years and now i am looking for something new like that

9:56 pm

you are looking forward to snow grem?

Jac put a SOD OFF sign on your front door

9:56 pm

don't answer jac

9:57 pm

it has never snowed where I have lived - only seen some on rare occasions, just a handful of times ever

9:57 pm

Because people don't consider writing a "real job" Jac. Sad but true.

9:57 pm

i had the same problem when i practiced law--people think you are always available

9:57 pm

pb grem but yes i know what you mean since i grew up in texas where three snow flakes stop traffic

9:57 pm

Hah. I have a proper job, in a proper office, and people think it's okay to call, visit, come into your office to chat and generally interrupt my train of thought. Has nothing to do with your job, that's just people.

A squeel. I may have to help babysit my niece.

9:58 pm

though working from home may make it easier for them to find you.

9:58 pm

Everyone tells me I will have enough of it after a day or two, but I really dislike heat so maybe I have a shot

9:58 pm

(at not hating it)

9:58 pm

you have to set the parameters yourself jac

9:59 pm

you may well love the snow grem--it has some lovely aspects--but like anything it can get ti**some

9:59 pm

wtg herin!

9:59 pm

herin how old is the little darling?

She will be a year in October. She is running already

10:00 pm

aww I envy you

10:00 pm

nice lots of energy there

10:01 pm

last ar6 please?

She is a darling. Her Dada broke his foot so he can't run after her.

10:01 pm

I did once draw a copy of a popular poster in the 70s. It was a very big fat naked woman holding her arm out in an imperious way to a very small fat man and the speech bubble above said SOD OFF!. I think it was a feminist movement poster. I think my Mum must've thrown it way, just like she threw away my very valuable Bob Dylan poster. GRRR!

10:01 pm

I had a Biba poster too, that's worth quite a bit now.

10:01 pm

wolfram doesn't seem to like the colony in which i live

10:02 pm

too bad Jac what was the Dylan poster?

10:02 pm

if you are behind in your rent jes

Thing is I have just told him I will do everything but poo nappy duty

10:02 pm

Oh damn, Jes is right. Many people are rude and self-serving and will barge in on whatever career you have because it's ALL ABOUT WHAT THEY NEED RIGHT NOW!!!!

10:02 pm

ar6 = ar + not the front.

10:02 pm

but that's part of it herin lol

10:03 pm

good grief. thanks, jam; i tried that 3 times but spelled it wrong every time!

No I do everything but that one

There maybe a bribe of cookies

10:03 pm

haha me too i would have never put the double letter in

10:03 pm

Westford - will have to Google and see if I can find it.

10:04 pm

Bob and I go back a long long way

Jac I have a lot of my posters still in a tube

10:05 pm

I had a poster and lost it in a move (guess one of the movers liked it )

10:05 pm

'What if they gave a war and nobody came?"

10:06 pm

a classic west

10:06 pm

and so fitting now..damn

10:06 pm

we live in hope west

10:07 pm

that we do

10:07 pm

Westford - can't find it on Google. It was stylised, very 60s/70s with a blue theme.

10:07 pm

thanks for looking Jac..maybe it'll show up someday

10:07 pm

Westford - is that war quote one from Woodstock? If it isn't it should have been.

10:08 pm

I think it was earlier than that

10:08 pm

ot6,21?

10:09 pm

sounds like ear infection but diff ending

10:09 pm

ot+first person singular+twitch

10:09 pm

thanks

10:10 pm

ot6/21 word is ot plus he, she, ** is plus today's **con theme is mouse padd.By the way check mine out, cute

10:10 pm

ot6/21 - o +slang word for breast + personal pronoun + consonant that starts the word for the most popular pet next to a dog.

10:11 pm

the grid has a theme?

10:11 pm

wiki takes that phrase from a monkees album (i kid you not)

10:11 pm

not the grid west

10:12 pm

oh never mind..you said icon theme..

10:12 pm

Every day there's an icon theme westford. The theme 2dayis mouse pads, hence my Cavalier mouse pad icon

nuts I have to start getting sorted for summer

10:13 pm

thanks min I just realized

10:13 pm

MollyL was the only other mouse pad I saw in chat log

10:13 pm

It's cold and windy and rainy and I want summer back

10:13 pm

Zor and Zam, The Monkees, 1968, that's where the war and nobody came quote comes from. I knew I new it!

10:14 pm

so it was before Woodstock

10:14 pm

i suspect it was from further back but can't prove it at this point

10:14 pm

I want summer back without the hot humid weather.

10:14 pm

hey hey we're the monkees

10:14 pm

absolutely min

10:14 pm

jmc - ditto. I'm sure it must come from further back.

Means I am going to have to start hand stitching things

10:15 pm

somewhere the weather is perfect all the time

10:15 pm

wiki is only as good as it's writers

10:15 pm

are you going to sell on Etsy herin?

No just for me

10:15 pm

no kidding jmc

I have a few pieces that need shortening and making

10:15 pm

actually one of my goals is to correct and plump out the story of the center where i used to work

10:16 pm

I can hem and sew on a button..that's about it

10:16 pm

Herin - I hand stitch things all the time these days, since Beloved has covered my sewing machine with lots of bags of photographic equipment, tripods etc.

10:16 pm

that reminds me i need to finish the pillow cases for my niece

10:16 pm

I need to have a serious word with him about that!

10:16 pm

toss it all off!

10:17 pm

second ar5 please

10:17 pm

I don't own a machinge

10:17 pm

Second ar5/10 word is a plus an re4/4 word jmcnrick

10:18 pm

a+ in **** life

10:18 pm

I often threaten to buy concertina wire

10:18 pm

sorry i need the third one

10:18 pm

The third ar 5/10 word is a plus re 4/4 word jmcnrick

10:18 pm

jmc - costs too much to 'toss'. Trying not to giggle here re the toss off connotation. I'll suggest in more strong terms than I have done before that covering my sewing machine causes inconvenience to me

Move the machine

10:19 pm

ar + sounds like 3 letter word meaning ingest but spelled differently.

Divide the room in two

10:19 pm

well toss gently then--and i know my boy sells photos

10:19 pm

herin - why should I? It's my house!

10:19 pm

10:21 pm

Brb need to find the lighter glasses

10:21 pm

i am happy to report my boy checked my cat and house and both are dry

10:21 pm

i swear i tried that!

10:21 pm

A ci 7/32 word is ci plus Stalin was a dic***** jmcnrick.

10:22 pm

you probably did jes..sometimes I put a word in 2 or 3 times before it 'takes'

10:22 pm

A ci7/32 word is ci + I can't concen***** on the grid if the television is on jmcnrick.

10:22 pm

ci7/32 = a form of citric acid.

All of my friends have had 10 pound babies. I got to hold a 7pound baby recently he was too small

11:12 pm

My niece is five. Just started school. *sigh*

No all my friends babies are big ones.

11:23 pm

did they even have a name picked out?

11:24 pm

I don't know!

11:25 pm

wow.. when they're really preemie, I suppose the name thing can catch the parents unawares.

11:25 pm

Notice all the cheesecloth?? LOL

11:26 pm

I named all my children years before they were born..of course they all have different names

My friend has a ''boy'' name for her little girl. I am all but it suits her and it is a unisex name

I'd hope so, westford. It would be confusing to have more than one child with the same name. ;)

11:26 pm

looking for cheesecloth now

11:26 pm

well yeah.. naming all the same could be confusing

11:27 pm

ha ha Neil! Great minds

Haha! GMTA Mary.

11:27 pm

I mean different than the ones I chose when I was 12 lol

OMG. Great minds AGAIN. Geez.

My birth family has a lot of J names. Problem is they are roughly the same age so I never know what is what

I see, westford. ;)

Had to tease though, because that just came out funny.

11:27 pm

ack! Get. out. of. my. head!!!

11:28 pm

it did and don't mind teasing at all

OMG. Ack! I. was. just. going. to. SAY. THAT!

11:28 pm

ROFL!!!!

Mary? You need to check G+... some pretty silly stuff going down on there right now.

11:29 pm

And if you aren't connected with Jon Moore there, add him, so you can see his posts.

11:30 pm

11:30 pm

I'm computer impaired at the moment Neil

11:31 pm

you made her dress? it is gorgeous

Oh, ok. You did an amazing job with that dress.. it looks really expensive. Hard to believe it's just made from cheesecloth! Genius.

11:31 pm

I thought you knew that. Muslin and cheesecloth

11:31 pm

aw shucks

11:31 pm

11:42 pm

11:42 pm

sittin' in my little cabin in the rain

11:43 pm

11:43 pm

11:43 pm
