Just updated profile.
ok ru- i'm goin to the pb , but i'm takin my limerick with me
What limerick, sammy?
heh heh
Laura aka Fauxmage wrote a funny one about me a while ago... it really cracked me up.
don't get ruru started about Nantucket etc
is the fa 8-9 a compound?
Ru...happy birthday...off to bed..its 1:36 am here..ugh
I can imagine what follows/rhymes with that place name, dart001. :P

And no, I don't mean "bucket" either.
thank you river.. I'm off to bed too.. not up to stayin up
Welcome back Pinikula.
Neil, is everything about you?
birthday? it's your birthday, ru???
Aww. Sleep well ruru.
on the chest of a barmaid at yale were tatooed the prices of ale and on her behind for the sake of the blind was the same information in braile.
if so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BUD!
yes pini
Pardon me, jilli? Wow. What's that for? :(
good night ruru -- too much celebrating?
Can't even make friendly conversation?
thanks a lot
Good one, sammy!
She happened to write one... that's my fault?
Ok?
Sorry you're not having a very good evening, apparently.
no nan.. just too much pain
I'm tired -- busy day -- goodnight all...*poof
Yes, GOOD NIGHT.
night jilli
Man. :( *headshake*
pain?
I get so confused with chat sometimes..everyone takes thing too personally I think
River, I can't figure what the heck I did to deserve that? Seriously?
there once was a maid from madras- who had a magnificent ass- not rounded and pink - as you'd possibly think: - it was gray, had long ears , and ate grass.
what did you do?
cute, s'mom ;)
I've only been friendly and I committed the apparent sin of not saying "hi" soon enough yesterday, but I had someone talking to me on messenger, plus I was trying to do the grid... and I explained that and apologized. Not good enough, apparently.
calm down neil ,- we love you
I wouldn't worry about it too much, Neil...just breath and let it go :)
what about nantucket dart/?
Neil.....you have done nothing to offend me....I dont know what I said to think you did
Laura happened to write a very funny limerick to me and give it to me recently... really cracked me up. Had I known it would be taken this way I'd never have mentioned it. Sheeeeesh
of course our favorite was is still the one johnny carson used to refer to on the tonight show many years ago
Well you know, that's pretty hurtful. Don't understand?
I am really offended.. but not sure at who?
Haha, ruru.
lol
oh ru..you silly boy! :)
You're a silly one.
I need 3 for nbt

sorry to hear that ru...I do hope it gets better for you soon!
aha -- found the ai 8
...now that the game is over, I have to see how long it'll take my dau and her friend to walk from the stadium to my house.

Ah...just got the 8/9 sequence. I was trying to play off the fa/6/39
fireworks
Way to go, dart!
Hmmm...I think I have all the big ones now and no use for that tempting superlative ending. What a shame.
did neil leave us?
don't know...but I'm gonna run now...nite all
nite dart
Nite, dart. Sleep tight
byeeee...pooof
finally got the fa 8-9 -- will have to look and see if there is a def. now.
now i am sad.............
there seems to be discord on the chog tonight and i don't know what to do about it
yes i do;.............. KNOCK IT OFF PEOPLE..... LIGHTEN UP DAMMIT
I just got here from a baseball game. I obviously have missed something. I hope that it wasn't too bad. Was it a troll?
not sure joey i probably didn t understand the problem.. still don't seems like several people have gone for the night and not a a good frame of mind and that is what is upsetting
apparently one Babbler doesn't like another Babblers comments....well thats what I could gather from reading things over a few days.
I am sorry to hear that. I have noticed that there are a few people who seem to get into it and try to instigate trouble
there is nothing to be done smom, these clashes pop up from time to time. different personalities tend to dominate different times on the chat and each time ie morning afternoon late nite (for us yanks) havve different squabbles. it is why i mainly lurk now, dont like all the drama
fireworks for me - any clues needed before i go to bed?
bethn, I agree. Life in general is so dramatic, don't need it here.
I just started, wish I knew what I was missing.
it can be just a misunderstanding, hard to read intent in the written word without facial expression and tone of voice
ok then i am off to bed nite all - peace : )
nite beth
9 to go, but too tired to find them tonight -- see you tomorrow
congrats, beth
nite cyber
i go as far as i can and then i get irritated and list joey , but i think i shall wait until tomorrow for that......... i hear agatha calling me ... tomorrow all........ poof
good night
hi and nbt

hi sugar, ty, but that was my previous word! hahah
Sorry!
np, I need all the help I can get!
is it cold there? It's very chllly in France this AM

*poof*
♪♫♪ *tra la la la* ♪♫♪ (skips through on the way to bed) hi and bye all! :)
now, I'm back after lunch. Decent one, for a change
anybody here?
only 62 words this AM
good morning everyone;)
(((ruby)))
{{crossy}}
I think we're the only ones here
it seems to be a "between time" for most
good..we will not have to share the morning english muffins and champagne
how3 are you feeling, as the days get rapidly shorter?
after living all those years in Miami, the lengthening and shortening of the days is very dramatic here
very short for us nos..only 7-8 c for the high and that cold fall rain, most of the leaves will be gone from the tree today as we had high winds last night
snow is not far off i fear
oh no! we get less and less snow every year, even though we're in the foothills of the Alps
it is about 11F in the AM but goes up to 70F in the (sunny) afternoons. There are still roses and raspberries
we get lots of lake effect snow now as we are right on a large body of water, but yes, snow is much less than i remember from my youth
when we first moved hre, 14 years ago, there was a lot more snow.
when we first moved hre, 14 years ago, there was a lot more snow.
Last year, we had about 3 feet all at once in Dec, then no more for the rest of the warm dry winter
(sorry for the repeat, twicthcy pinkie)
in dec last year,we set a 2 week record and got 7 feet of snow in that time and the rest of the winter was not too bad
and great spelling, to boot!
if you ignore my spelling i shall do the same for you:)
7 feet, OMG. I would have drowned!
ty, cookie
7 days of those 14,we could not leave the house
actually, I could drown in less than 5 ft!
we had a friend come and dig us out as we couldn't even get the mail
lol,pocket sized arnt you? lol
small pocket, lol
I hate being this small; I used to be a woman of substance!
stop shrinking right now!
I'm trying, ate a big lunch!
hehe,i think i could make 3 of you
put you under one arm, your hubby under the other and carry you both around like sacks of taters
but would the quality be diluted and I bet the 3 couldn't dance as well! hahah
true,my dancing is not what it should be
he is now 86 and is extremely frail. It is very sad to see him like this because at 60, hs was amazing!
my father in law was the same,in his mid 70,s he was all of 120 pounds soaking wet
my dancing is still OK but little old ladies boogying is not what anybody wants to see!
not true, mother and father in law, gave us a dance sample of what they used to do in the 40,s and we sat there stunned..amazing dancing!
if you want dancing (especially salsa lessons), come hereand visit. We may not hve great bacon, but we have the alltime best eggs!!!!
they were both mid 60,s at the time, but still an eye popper
one time, on a biz trip, I met a young man who was a dancer, too, and we tore up the floor, with a very wide variety of music for house
hours*
mmmm egss..i can work around the bacon, maybe some nice home fries to go with the cackle berries
and the potatoews are better here than in the US
and we have good veal sausages
we get our best taters from the east coast
our potatoes are amazing! better than any I had in the US. They actually taste like potatoes
no problem at all as i can make any breakfast sing;)
(breakfast is my favorite meal" I wake up ready to eat a cow)
my breakfast skills started when i was first dating my mrs,i was playing it real cool and said something like"hey baby, how do you like your eggs in the morning?" and she said "unfertilized"...so right then i knew i would have to do better
you would always be welcome here, crossy, with Mrs. Elegant. We have a wonderful guestroom suite and you could help me cook while Mrs. Elegant drinks with DH)
sounds tempting:)
not a joking invitation!!!!
good afternoon all
howdy sprite;)
you and I are both C survivors and I feel (in my heart) that we have a bond. And Mrs. Elegant and my husband have many eye issues in common!
crossy :) *hugs*
{{sprite}}
hi ruby!
yes,us big C survivors are a fiesty bunch;)
crossy and I, as usuall, are talking about food
mmmmmm C food?
food and sex and dancing..what else is there;))))

the 25 year old hotties are already calling me sir:(((
I wish. I could sooo do with a nice cup of coffee and a delishious brunch.
delicious
and they are starting to ask me if i need help with that package to the car;((
the fantasy is over:(((
that's depressomg
and you say 'yes please' and watch their cute asses while walking them to the car...
unfortunately, I still have a "cute ass" but if IU turn ariound they run away screaming....
nah they don't, you silly
caught myself the other day, watching some swivel hip action and checked myself as i was wearing a shirt at the time that was older than she probably was:(
awwwww crossy! That only means you are ripe, mature, wise, interesting!
hahaha, crossy!
Elegant will remind you of that, ask her :)
that is very sweet, but, unfortunately, true, sprite

yup,she is my treasure
hahah crossy
and btw, crossy, imagine having sex with such a young little bit of nothing. Boring. Nothing like your own wife.
since we age together, time has no meaning
(ok stop imagining, you are lifting the table(
actually they are a good source of child minders whilst the mrs and i go stepping out to the pub:)
yay, half, at last. It only took me half a day!
silly ruby! Of course they don't. You're a sweetie.
yaa for ruby!!
good job ruby
actually our "boy" is too old for sitters now:/
boy or boy, I can remember my 40's (and even those 30's!!!!)
he would be trying to date them!
even my kids are too old for that now. They will sit themselves.
my 30,s? do not think we made it out of the bedroom one month lol
I have been handicapped since my 30th. I am better now than I was 15 years ago :)
just crawl out and down the hall for water once in a while lol
I had a great hobby in my 30's
did it involve lots of sex, ruby?
sigh..started dating my mrs just as she turned 20...walking dynamite!
and what hobby was that ruby?
she still is, crossy!
that and working, sprite. I was very lucky (and adventurous)
oh wonderful :D

no regrets, that's for sure
no regrets, that's for sure!!!!!
whoops, didn't meanto repeat that. Crossy, that isn't for the chat. E-mail me and I'll give you an inkling or, if anybody wants to be a ghost writer, I';m ready for a collaborator!
lolllllll wtg ruby!

you rock ruby!
I hope you''re sitting down, sprite!
why is a grid of 156 words feeling so doggone tight?
I used to rock, crossy!
indeed,i am fighting to find the words
I am, ruby, but in spirit I am seriously lolling!
hard grid but great to see my friends in the chog
looks like there may be some big fa words, but i cannot get them together yet
my biggest Fa words smell
I found one fa8/80 something to do with making rows in farming
oh wow ruby, good one!
ty ruby
nice one indeed
(so rare for me to be able to give a lue, :)"
or even a clue
and of course, having found that one, I try person doing it... no joy.
84 words, very happy
but it does lead to the 9
64 words and pecking away
uh oh,didn't find the 9 - looking
looking for the 9....
another fa8 rhymes with a word meaning utopia or Eden
but you finish and I don't!!!!
salut, ruby!
bonjour une!
howdy une
oh lol, Une, that is the one I found. Off to find ruby's one then. And hi :)
guess where my daughter is today -- leaving Frankfurt Book Fair and arriving in Lille to visit a French amie!!
hey, crossy :-)
sprite, f + ar7
ohhhh! Send her to visit ruby. So close!
that is so nice, une. And the weather is perfect for a visit
and not that far from me either
yes, she would be welcome!
now if i only had ar7...:(
btw babble friends... Une's fa8/60 is actually a description of babble! "To start any hyper-addictive process or trend, or to continue adding current to such a trend"
speaking sternly: Sprite!!!! we are not so far apart. Closer than more of the babblers who visit!!!!
ruby, i don't doubt that for a second but she's on a very tight schedule (work-related trip)
yes we are. Remember, I offered once to come and help you :D
well then, when you visit, une, I hope you will give me a call!
I think the time is dwindling down, sprite. But you know how I appreciate the offer!!!!!
crossy wonders if airport security will allow a few pounds of bacon in my carry on to france...
thanks une, got it now
crossy . . . Bonnie Parker and Clyde B***** -- now make it past tense
yes, and remember that you can always tell me you changed your mind and want me to come over :)
in Geneva, I don't think they even check the bags -- no dogs. All they care abut is that the money arrives....
they might, crossy. Nothing very strict here about food.
ruby LOL
I would love that, sprite, you are most dear!!!
:)

hey, sheila :-)
good one, sheila, and hi
ty and hello sheila
btw did you see my icon? I am still grinning.
did you see mine??
OOOOghhhhhhh I want that label! Brilliant, Une!
sprite, I saw that sign yrs ago when I worked for the United Methodist Church LOL
sprite, i sent the label pic to my daughter -- she can't even sew on a button LOL!
some of the fan clubs are too funny
Hahahaha you were responsible, don't try to deny it :D
:-D
justchecked your icon, sprite, too funny. However, when I go to a profile, I usually have to re-boot
sounds like your IE is not working properly then.
BBL -- must take pups out to pee, then pick up and deliver donated food -- byeeee *poof*
don't get things mixed up there, Une. have fun :)
that is v funny, une, but I think I do things better tah my wondrfuul, sainted, mother.
my mother managed to ruin almost everything in the laundry. But it is still a brilliant label!
83 words. Jeezzz where is the rest.
I don't think my mother ever had a washing machine, but she managed! She was the best!
she sounds pretty heroic, ruby.
85. s[prite, (chuffed)! hahah
*bows to rubyfoo's superiority*
she was wonderful , sprite, I was very llucky. And my father, too.
my secret hope is my kids will say that about us, later :)
Oh, yeah, and the number of times I've finsihed (with Fm and crossy's help) is about 5!!!!
i see you dr who fans have a word in here today
we do, crossy, and it is not valid! And when adding a H at the end, it should mean late-ish... and that is not valid either!
we used to get the original dr who here in the 80,s on our public television channel
wait until you have played for 7 years, ruby ;)
my son calls me about once every 2 wkks, so maybe he feels like that. He is wonderful. His new band, BTW, is the Bravados, but he still plays with 3 or 4 other bands when they need a fill-in.
he is the best, crossy
HI
howdy herin
keep me posted, rubyfoo. I was impressed by his first cd
I am not improving, crossy.
hiya lady :)
{{herin}}
howdy howdy
((((((9Ruby))))))))))
not to worry ruby..i almost never finish these grid now
so far, nothing recorded, but there are lots of photos. My son is bigger than 2 ofe me
yay, nbt
but still no 9
ah good job again.
ruby, take the word for the perfect heaven after death according to the church... change first letter... past tense it.
no 9 for me either ruby tuesday:)
not a great church-goer, moi!
Ok sprite HUH?
ok, sprite, you are much smarter than the rest of us!!! but we love you!!!
crossy does not do the big churches anymore..too much politics
fa8/60: meatloaf's famous song Pa****** by the dashboard lights. Change first letter. Past tense.
I actually got it from that clue!
I am not, jeez, I just stink at clueing apparently
thanks dJean :D
ty sprite..crossy loves meatloaf
:-)
<--still loves you
no one was more surprised than I!
lolllll
ohhhhh..it,s cold and lonely in the deep, dark night...i can see paradice by the dash board light...
hmm, hoping the monkeys like meatloa
ok I feel duly chastised. Yep, that word, crossy, only then spelled correctly.
the way MY mind works, the first words I saw were sh4 and fa4
same here, dJean, lol
espit, you are a gem!
kindreds :-p
yes!
:( still can't find it; will have to come baCK AFTER MY NAP
oh ruby, lol. I can cut it up for you, if you like.
ruby u will kick yourself
pls, then I can take my nap, ahppily. BTEW, my last night's dream included Vincent Cassel, an actor who I can't stand. So much for nonsense dreams!

I look a f***way to fa8?
hi Kaplan
with all of your help, I got it. But what a strange word!
Hello Kaplan
wtg ruby
89 words and nap time
now you can enjoy your nap
reading three book s at the same time
enjoy your nap, ruby. Dream of sweet actors
but Vincent Cassel isn't one! Usually dream about William Petersen (bow legs and all) or Joe Mantegna
you can tell that I watch a lot of movies!
good morning all!! great clues for the fa8 and 9. Thanks. could anyone clue the E in the bottom row?
hehehe :)
hi debjed :D

Sorry i was trying to arrange this weekend
I just want to get the morning off on a high quality note.
which show?
i think i asked for that clued in a previous puzzle. maybe now it will stick :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pthokb1 8V7U
it is a weird one, deb, if you don't play music. But now you won't forget anymore ;)
thanks for your help. my feet are cold and my head hurts, guess i'll go back to bed for awhile :) see you all later.
oh deb... get well soon! *hugs*
hope you freel better. I am crashing after I go to the gym
Kaplan, funny one. Memory lane!
My favorite gay scene and turnaround- those boys in their swimsuits...usually we see it with chorusgirls.
Anyway, back to the news.
yes, it is brilliantly done.
cracks me up every time.
some of the moves are so sexual, lol. It is amazing that this is that old.
mmmm jane russel, before crossy,s time, but boy was she nice and curvy:)
The 50s were a great decade for closet sexuality.
true
Crossy wasn't looking at the chorus boys.
there were other in that film? lol
hehehe you have to admit, it is a saucy lady. Great moves too, and a good voice and timing.
It's the Greek style dance moves and nude bathing suits that kill me---
It's a Marilyn Monroe/Jane Russell movie.
yes that is the funny part. And the way the boys don't look at her at all.
you can have marilyn..ill take jane:)))
I just wanted to start the day off with a little cult-cha. Cult-cha- get it?
alas, nothing for me in that video... all there are boy inclined! Fireflies, btw... bye all and have fun!
notice how brave crossy is when the mrs is still asleep? lol
Bye sprite.

morning all
I went to buy a
A visa card for mrp and was told that she might not be able to use it there. they suggested pay pal.
herin, do you use Visa gift cards where you are?
guess she left and I am talking to myself again
howdy peri
here is our donation site for mro via pay pal
http://mrp.chipin.com/mrp
mrp
if you would rather have wildcats snail mail addy just let me know
as she organized all this for us to help
that does not work for me crossy. will that money go directly to pay pal. I thought wildcat said she would take the money from the site and then buy a Visa Gift Card. Isn't that what she said
morning, all!
I cannnot get onto that site is what I meant
would you rather use wildcats mailing addy?
rather than send something to wildcat I wanted to send to mrp directly
I have wildcats addy thanks
ok ,cool
A Visa Gift card might not be usable in Australia
i had mrp,s mailing addy here somewhere, but will have to look for it later..was on a stickty pad and has now vanished
and mrp is near sidney as i understand..and they take visa
I have mrp's address as well
ok,then all set
looking online - the consensus seems to be to use something like western union or paypal, although each will have fees associated
just send her an international money order if you are concerned
it is not that difficult
also, mrp is aware that we are collecting money for her (although I don't know if any has arrived yet) - you could ask her what the best way would be
a regular money order at my bank cost $5, will check at other places on Mon

Both. And I am so damn sick of celebrity women doing Marilyn look-a-likes.
Oh, me too- because none of them have the aura she had. And no one gets that.
i agree with you Molly gets old very fast
I refuse to even watch Gaga's lame attempt at Marilyn at the Clinton concert. I wish she would gogo away. She is so full of herself.
Marilyn had a childlike inocent but still sexey look to her that made her. They make her look like a slut.
afternoon - has anyone seen Footloose yet?
Nope Hoot and I'm not going to. I abhor re-makes.
Gee you sound like a lot of the people on-line. Did you see the dance they did on DWTS/
?
I dont think i have seen many if any remakes that are actually good
I would hope it is still fun considering that blood & gore seem to rule he world nowadays.
soooo that is an astute observation
Hoot, I don't watch Dancing With The Stars. I have a special affection for the original Footloose and I'm not interested in today's "kids" trying to top that.
Hiya, Babblers!

16 psi of downward force bacon gravity:)
psi is a pressure, which is force per unit area. So you exert more pressure if you stand on tiptoes (which is why spike heels can punch holes in wooden floors)

It's a fa4/8 that I have finished the puzzle so here is a story of clues.I've always loved flying on an ai8/60. When I was a a kid the Hawkins tr4/4 (dad, mom and myself) would fly to various places.I would always get on the plane with such ar 5/12.There would be other kids da4/8 enough to da4/5 around the plane driving everybody crazy, but not me. I did not put a fr4/11n on anybody's face. I was good at keeping myself busy while flying. Whether the plane was cr5/22ed or not, I was in my own little world on the airplane. The first thing I would do is pull down my tray & play a game of solitaire with my ca 5/14. Then when the stewardess came with the ca 4/5 I'd put my game away and wait for food. Once I was fa5/18 w/food, the stewardess would take my di 4/6 and I would do some arts and cr 5/18s on the plane. Then I would take out some di4/6 and play math games. Fortunately,it was not a dr4/7 for my parents to take me on trips. Dr4/5s! Husband is being an ar 4/4 and wants the computer. I'm going to give computer to him before he gets into a ra 4/6 and it causes a ri 4/7 between us.I'm going to go eat some ta 4/5 bell for dinner. I will return to this websi 4/4 later on tonight to help out with clues if needed.

a singular of the fa 8 and 9

Wht clued it as a Persian language with a different second to the last consonant

I must say that on some fundamental level I do not understand people having plastic surgery who are not actually disfigured
no ifs ands or buts
Agreed! This guy lives in South Beach Fl, and wants a more voluptuous rear. 'Nuff said.
I understand the doctors have to be extremely anal about these surgeries
indeed, ru.
Apparently it isn't easy to tell if they've had the surgery, as opposed to some others.
well most people don't drop trou to show off the scars

Hello bichon! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Hey everybody :-)
Hello torgone! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
Hello Soodle! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.
Hi Minver *waves
hey, min, tor, soodle, jellen, peri, et al :-)
Hi Min :-)
Hello Uneaixoise! How are you doing? Welcome to grid
(Modest smile) I got Fireworks earlier, so I am ready willing & able to clue if necessary :-)
(Modest thank you) : P
You know me, Molls...understated!
Understated beats totally all about you anytime. We like understated.
Min, your icon is hilarious.
hi, soodle and une! and everybody!
(sorry, I am in and out a lot today, and am losing track of who is here...)
howdy, sue!! :-)
Hey Sue, Une et al. And Min, I love your icon as well....
It's okay Sue. The drama about who says hi to who is getting old.
<--- not a drama queen (or any other sort of queen, as far as that goes)
and I have learned something today, while writing my lectures -
do tell . . .
besides WIMPs and MACHOs, which are potential dark matter candidates, somebody has proposed something called a wimpzilla.
Now how am I going to explain THAT to my class?
ok...you must expand on wimpzilla in lay-babble-person terms...
LOL!!
I knew it! I knew Alpha Male stuff existed in the scientific world. It's EVERYWHERE.
Well. A WIMP is a Weakly Interacting Massive Particle (something around the mass of a proton, or a small bunch of protons, but that hardly ever interacts with anything(
so a wimpzilla is one of those except REALLY massive, maybe 10 billion proton masses.
I haven't a clue what the scientific explanation is, but, by golly I could nominate a Wimpzilla or two.........
the chances that they exist are rather small, of course, it's just theorists theorizing in the absence of data.
<------- Was actually thinking of my ex-husband!
and molly, I have worked alongside alpha males all my life; it does get a bit tiresome but I have made my peace with it. Mostly.
lol, soodle, I have at least two of those!
he's gone now, soodle, isn't he? or are you still putting hot pepper powder in his shorts?
LOL. Sue!
OK. Whatever you say uusue. Makes more sense than these crazy peeps having risky elective surgeries on tv!
Oh, he is gone, Sue. Well & truly gone.
There you go, champ :-)
and yay, soodle!
:-)
Soodle, so you lost 25 + what...180 lbs? ;)
wait, am I getting crazy ex-husbands mixed up? yours disappeared to Thailand, soodle?
Nope, Champ.... stuck at 25lbs. (But 3 sausages this morning may not have helped my cause)
Yup! thats me, Sue. My not so dear, but oh so departed.... (never mind, i am still paying his life insurance....)
good for you, soodle! 25 pounds is a real accomplishment!!
OK, then whose ex is still living in the other half of the house and won't leave? Is that Glantarell? (apologies for aging brain)
Thanks Sue. People are commenting on the new Soodle now!!
well.. think about all the weight you got rid of by getting rid of your husband soodle
NO...I meant HIS weight. You can count that as a loss. :)
Soodle, if that is a life insurance policy that you are the beneficiary of, I strongly recommend you keep paying it.
Hey Ruru. belated birthday greetings.
thanks soodle
Yup, Molls. I stand to gain a hat of money if (when) he croaks..:-)....
Yes, ruru! I put a happy birthday wish on yesterday's icon but I'm not sure you saw it.
25 lbs is great by the way
Hi MollyL. Thanks for compliment.I think icon is funny too.Somebody posted it on my FaceBook and I stole it
I did see sue.. thanks
Did you have a nice birthday, Ruru?
oh, good, and yw :-)
Happy Belated birthday rururocks. Don't think I saw you on Babble the day of your birthday. Couple days last week where I had not time to do any babbling.
yes soodle..except I have a migraine today..not sure why
thank you minver.. I got a lot of birthday well wishes
Yak. Migraine is the pits. Nothing for it, but a darkened room, and peace & quiet.
tried that.. didn't help.. I thought maybe pizza might help too.. didn't help..ugh I hate headaches
Soodle, I kept life insurance on my ex simply because it would prove financially difficult for me if he died (I would become sole support for our son) and he owed me back child support. When he passed two years ago, I was damn glad I did.
*smart thinking Molly*
I really don't understand how someone would skip on their child support.. I'd go without to be sure my kids had what they needed
Well done, Molls. And thinking about the lifestyle my ex is leading in SE Asia, i reckon his demise will be sooner rather than later...
oh my.
I never asked my son's dad for child support; I knew he wouldn't pay it anyway, so why bother?
Unfortunately it happens all the time.People like that shouldn't even have kids because they don't deserve to have them.I feel so bad for kids who have parents that don't care about them.I see it everyday at work
I'd been the sole support of the family the whole time we were married anyway.
Hi LeslieAnn! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
and here's hoping you come into money soon, soodle! *evil grin*
I don't understand how someone could have kids and then just drop them like that sue.. I'm astonished
hallo min et al
Good point Min, it is sad. And good for you Soodle because you are right about his lifestyle.
ha, ruru, I paid HIM alimony on top of it!
Speaking of coming into money, hubby just got a job.
Congratulations to your husband Min!
The really sad thing is that my ex is fathering children left right & centre out in the Philippines (his current bolt-hole). Which is going to going to be tricky if he kicks the bucket, inheritance rights & all that....
omg.. really.. what a loser!
yay for min, and Mr. min!!!
Thanks MollyL. He's been out of work for almost 2 yrs.
But Soodle, what does he have worth inheriting?
that was to UU not you minver..lol
if you have life insurance on him, soodle, aren't you the beneficiary? Other children would seem to be irrelevant.
Min, thats wonderful news. The best of luck to Mr Min in his new job.
probably some veneral disease by now molly
Thanks rururocks, but I have thought the same thing
Wow Min...congratulations!
Yes Ru, and a boat load of bad debt.
ouch
I'd benefit from the insurance, Sue, but our home would be up for grabs....
well this is a start forward minver
Ah, that sucks, soodle.
has he actually acknowledged all these children?
Let's hope rururocks. It's been a very tough 2 years!
Soodle, have you talked to an attorney about his rights to that house considering his desertion?
that is great min!
I have. Inheritance rights are written in stone. All offspring (within or outside of marriage) have entitlements. hey.... one day at a time, yeah? the fecker isn't dead yet!
Hi Soodle. Sorry to hear about your problems with your ex
all the more reason to have life insurance, then!
Hey Bich. Don't worry. I've built a bridge, & I've got over it!!!
You go girlfriend
(((Bich)))
Now... Here I am, with 25 greyed squares, and nobody asked for a clue. How typical is that? I#
you're done, soodle? YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yup. first fireworks in yonks! Anyway, its time for me to noodle off to bed. G'nite all :-)
Congratulations Soodle on finishing early. Good for U!
woot woot
Soodle, this is all irrelevant. By the time he gives up the ghost, you will be a wealthy woman who can let that house sit and wait for the illegitimate squatters.
Bring it on, Molls.......
Goodbye Soodle! I'll see you tomorrow in the chat log.
bye Soods
bye
Hi everyone. We had a very happy event yesterday. Our daughter was married and I wanted to share a photo of the new couple.
awww congrats habes!
Congratulations Habes. She's a beautiful bride.
where was the ceremony? it is beautiful!
congratulations .
Thank you all. The ceremony was at Phipps' Conservatory (Broderie Room) in Pittsburgh. Dinner was at Lidia's in the Strip District.
I only have the fa8. stats for the other 2 8's?
Weddings are quite intense.
ai8.60. fa8.60 and fa8.80, kap
congratulations Habes! what a beautiful couple!
got the ai. thanks
are the fa 8's compound or builders?
wanna clue that ai kap?
Thank you again. They are intense and wonderful
Builders Kap.
builders, kap
the ai is a compound- what planes and helicopters are
hi Molly! (snap)
wonderful, habes! They are lovely!
Habes, there is nothing quite so special as the wedding of your child. My son's wedding day is one of my happiest memories.
Ruru, try a seasickness pill followed 20 mins later by a soluble aspirin. I am a migraine sufferer of 55 years standing and this is the only thing that helps
one fa8 is the past tense of fa6/39, having to do with pigs having piglets (apparently)
that's the one I have, unfortunately.
Hello Habes! How are you doing? Welcome to the chog
the other fa8 is related to the fa5/18 which is an electrical term (this is a series of related words, fa5/7/8/9/6)
Hello jaxxx7! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
oh great- I had the plural already for the 9 but not the singular. Duh.
I am missing 3 7s' 14 left. Maybe I'll list.
I was thinking of putting my head in a vise jaxx..i'll try that sometime.
"I'll build a stairway to fa8"
I have two tickets to fa8
I'm going to get there at any price...
..like my whiskey over will a little ice..
Putting your head in a vice will only make it worse, Ruru I find red wine triggers my migraines. Make a note of what you eat and your trigger will show itself so you can avoid it. Not that I am hinting or anything but too much sleep can also start a headache.
Hi, Minveryork
I think I had too much red wine last night
ok, I am going to go have a snack and then off to rehearsal - see you all later!
I have been 'babbling' for many years but do not usually chat. I just felt sorry for a fellow migraine sufferer.
I have been 'babbling' for many years but do not usually chat. I just felt sorry for a fellow migraine sufferer.
*Wonders if Ru has a hangover not a migraine*
Ruru, the only red wine that doesn't affect me is Fitou, a French wine.
Jaxx, jump into the mix. Most of us don't bite. : )
I bite. And my bark is even worse.
Pay no attention to the woman behind the curtain. She is a softie.
I find I spend too much time on babble as it is without chatting as well. My husband will go mad if he spends any more time on his own while I use the computer.
If you don't pay attention I'll start singing.
a babble widower
How much are you on the computer actually?
I am trying to curtail my own use.
a computer widower full stop. My other hobby is genealogy and I have met a lot of lovely American relatives on Ancestry.
I can't get past 14 left. Sometimes I research fascinating things on the web. Sometimes I just waste time.
the chat makes it fun for me.
An average of 6 hours a day. Mostly in the evening.
That's not much in the scheme of things Jax..you do that every day though?
My husband who hates all the time I spend babbling is trying to get me to play games on FB. Asked him why he wants me to get addicted to even more games. He already hate all of the time I spend on this computer.
I think I'm stuck. All I've done today is go to the gym, babble and ruin a painting.
FB games seem stupid to me. That farm thing? Ugh.
yes
i do this game.. that's enough.. sometimes weboggle. I don't have the time for other games
All I have done today is Babble,a dog walk and laundry
"Mary Jo is planting cannabis seeds. Won't you help arrest her?"
<,---about to do a dog walk
Really.
?? what's that kap>?
Then again, that's what Sundays are for.
I don't mind goofing off on Sundays
Farmland on Facebook. I never have gone near it, but I get messages from people..."Time to plant!"
Kap, I agree about Facebook games.
take care all.. I'm going to go do something ..lol
You agree about a lot of things. Except I like Lady Gaga.
That's the only way I know that you aren't me.
Goodbye rururocks! I will see you later on in the chog
Almost everyday I play Babble, Helicopter, Pinball and WordTwist. Once in a blue moon I will play Letterblox.
Well, that and I'm only a wannabe Jew. : )
I'm Jewish when I there is no school on Jewish holiday
crazy piece in the times about the psychoanalyst who treated "Sybil" and basically fabricated multiple personality disorder.
It is almost midnight here in Devon, England. I am off to my bed. A pleasure to meet you all.
Come back soon jaxx.
Goodbye jaxx7!I will see you tomorrow in the chat log
Night Jaxx. Hope you chat again.
That is disappointing Kap. However, I still think Sally Field was outstanding in the movie.
the psychoanalyst was way crazier than the patient. Nowadays she would lose her license. Some analysts agreed that it is a good thing to actually have their patients move in with them, so they (patients) can live in a structured safe environment
Marilyn Monroe's therapist did that- he had Marilyn stay with his family.
To me, that is "over involvement".
I did not even know Marilyn Monroe had a therapist.
The analyst just kind of told the patient label herself as different paesonalities. Even when the patient tconfessed that she was making it all up, the analyst told her that was just one of her personalities trying to keep the truth out.
She was a patient of Greenson.
I bet there are a lot of celebs who goto therapy that we don't know about.Like US magazine says, they do the same things we do. They just don't have as much privacy.
Freud invented overinvolvement. This concept of boundaries is a more recent one.
I think that Africa should be an accepted word in grid
Did you ever see the reality show Ryan and Tatum, where they go to theapy? That is a new low in reality shows- makes Jersey Shore seem like public television.
therapy even.
Marilyn's therapist probably has a lot to say about those who are overly needy in the attention department.
gotta go have dinner and spend time with hubby man.
LOL Kaplan the Magne!I refuse to watch Tatum's and Ryan's reality show.Like I really care about their lives
Goodbye Kaplan the Magne! I will see you later maybe
Oh no Min. Does that mean that people who watch Jersey Shore care about those people's lives?
Really do not understand the fascination with reality television shows. That is so not reality at all. I refuse to watch any "reality" television shows. I will stick to my soaps. At least they those people know that's fluff
Agreed Min. Reality shows are disturbing.
I truly don't understand the fascination with Reality TV. Not to mention the fact that these shows are "teaching" people to behave badly!
Hello SpellCheck! How are you doing? Welcome to grid
The celebrity status that reality show performers are elevated to really freaks me out.
Thank Min... I usually lurk and offer the odd clue here or there.
i used to watch days of our lives religiously. i watched it on sept 21st -- the day marlena returned and omg she has had tons of botox done lol
Yes Molly... me too. It's a very sad comment on our society.
Exactly! Reality TV sets a very bad example for kids.
Hello cosdem! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
does the ai8 start with the oxygen?
yes cosdem
Cos - I think HDTV has made a lot of these celebs even more age-conscious. (Another sad comment on society)
Cos, I used to be a regular Days watcher too. And yes, Deidre Hall has been dancing with the needle way too much.
Yes cosdem. An ai8 word is a common compound word.
thanks min and hi everyone
i stopped watching days when marlena was the salem slasher lol
LOL "Dancing with the needle"! I like that expression!
poisioning alice with her donuts were too much for me
I quit when the teen stories became rampant. Especially anything to do with bug eyed Chloe.
cosdem,I have that ai8 word in my story in my profile
ah i see it now min thanks
Well bug eyed Chloe will soon be leaving Salem I think.
im also sick of all the bedroom scenes with sami and rafe
its likle the writers are trying to turn sami and rafe into the new john and marlena and i cannot stand john.
I am sick of Sami period! She needs to leave the show!
All Sami does is cry, moan and whine. Get rid of her!
I also quit because of anything to do with Sami. My favorite Days scene ever was the time that Austin backed into Sami with his car. TWICE.
"oh doc i love you so. you are my one true love" lol who talks like that?
my favorite scene from days is when vivian buried carly alive :)
Vivian was far and away the best soap villianess EVER
they just got rid of her AGAIN
Look how old looking Austin has gotten.I believe that is the original one, Patrick Muldoon. I liked the other Austin better, Austin Peck.
yes i think i read the original is back as is the original cassie
Carrie
oh duh
carrie lol
ar 5/12 plz
Passion Ivesy
so from what i understand, marlena, john, hope, carly, carrie, austin, jennifer, jack, sami, roman are all back at once.. methinks the writers want to bring back the 1990s
ty molly
ar5/18 please
What Robin Hood pulls through a bow Cos.
Roman is back? The original Roman?
no its the dad from valeries family
ah thanks molly
howdy all
still not getting the ar5/12 clue
Bow and ar5, what you use in archery.
i got that one i emant the passion clue molly
ar + Nacho Cheese ***itos
i thought i tried that! thanks again.. and i prefer ranch :)

Hi Crossy, looks like your keyboarding is working. I suppose it will sometimes misspell.
it does take a gentle touch
but a great thing in pinch and you can roll it up and stuff it anywhere
one word, just oe more word and i can list
Good for you crossy. I'm gong to stop with 30 on the table. I've spent a nice time Babbling this afternoon.
bye Mother
hey all, just here until my battery runs out
HI
hey lady
How you?
today, sick in bed, but recovering and overall well. you?
O poor sick Stid
I am ok. I had so many cupcakes left over from the 1st birthday yesterday I managed to bless both neighbours
and the b.fs work
well, it's autumn and there are all kinds of things floating around the schools...
mmmm. I bet they were delicious@
ah, tom is home! :-)
hi stiddy! *sending chicken noodle soup*
thanks LBD, actually had some chicken soup earlier once my insides settled down and it was nice.
gotta build up those immunities if you're going to be hanging around all those snot nosed kiddies
Yes it was well recieved. They were Confetti Cupcakes from Duncan Hines and Swish Chocolate cake. I had 2 packet mixes from USA foods
well, I am pretty good with the bugs at the local school, likely picked this up while shopping the other day.
Hi LB
hi herin! how ya doing?
:-D Love confetti cupcakes... will take the confetti and leave the cake!
i'll take the swiss chocolate, anything chocolate!
ai8?
Good. My friend who is 6ft 9inch managed to pull a very cute ''i want cupcakes'' voice for his daughters 1st birthday with only a two hour cooking window so I used the emergancy packets
ai8 - plane
planes and helicopters ,not boats or cars
a plane
planes, helocopters are all ai8
that' so sweet of you herin!
ah, up to100!
He has a really bad habit of being too cute to resist
lady is just plain sweet, methinks
go stiddy!
down to 4% battery power
The 1 year old got some awesome useful gifts too.
Bye Stid :(
need to plug that baby in whilst you're on it, stid
not seeing the plane, can i have a clue for dummies?
no, actually I need to sleep...

Or what sStid said
oh derrr. thanks ladies. fireworks!
yes, you need your rest to fight off whatever it is you caught.
YAY LA!
Chocolate lovers...try the Duncan Hines Decadent Triple Chocolate cake mix. It's awesome. So is the Caramel/Apple one.
my transformer tablet when docked into its keyboard docking station has a 16 hour battery life:))
whoooo hooooo LA!!
hey molly!
Molly I don't buy packet mixes but they are so handy when USA foods have them on special
my macbook used to have 6 + hours reserve battery, now getting about 2. need a new battery but can't really afford right now. oh well.
i have a bunch of cake mixes in my pantry, only problem is Hubz is on a low fat diet and all of them use tons of fat!
Herin, I don't usually either. But these are far and above the normal packet mixes.
see you-all again soon! *poof*
LB just donate them to a food pantry?
night night, stiddy
Night Stid
i'll keep them around for those emergencies like when he comes home and tells me he needs a pot luck item for work.
Try using applesauce instead of the oil, lb.
O that is a great idea. I shipped up the last 10 mini cup cakes to B.fs work
Watch the dates on them LBD. It was a new one on me recently that cake mixes expire.
i've been using a lot of applesauce in my baking, bzz. most of the desserts have come out good, only had one that was a bit dry and dense
you can use 1/4 cup of apple sauce instead of the 1/4 cup of oil they always ask for??
not only the oil, but eggs have a lot of fat in them too! 5 grams per egg
You can substitute applesauce for oil, but it makes a big difference in the texture of the cake.
Isn't eggs good fat?
the dietician he's going to says right now all fats are bad! she'll get into the "good" fats later on after he gets used to monitoring how much fats he consumes
O that is such a load of BS but some people need that DO NOT TOUCH first off
you will only pry my egss away from my cold, dead hands
he can have fats, just has to watch how much.
Cross and bacon :P
55 grams of fat a day is a lot of fat, especially if you love dairy!
st5?
well,i am eatin g low salt peameal bacon n ow herin,so i am tryin g
he'd kill for a bacon and tomatoe sandwich
I'll bet his dietitian (like my doctor) wears a size 2 pants and lives on a diet of yogurt and pine nuts.
LB what about organic no fat bacon?
may as well be dead
nm
i've not met her, but you're probably right. aren't all dieticians skinny mini's?

A tr 6/21 word is tr plus vowel plus auto gapeach1066
Peach, tr + vowel + auto
It is but is also very very rare for a death to happen as the cars are disintigrateable and have the driver in a capsule
yes herin
It was a sad day in Indy 500 history.
Thanks much, Min and Molly.
yw
How are you tonight Peach?
Feeling pretty well today, Molly. Thanks for asking...and you?
ruru, he won the Indy500 this year in May
Not bad Peach. Good to hear you're feeling well today.
Thanks, hon.
Peach, for all the good, healing energy you send to others, I'm sending some back to you.
oh.. that's really sad then jen
Thanks so much, Molly.
*could use some healing energy myself..lol*
*Sends healing energy to Ru as well*

they had about an hour delay, stopped the race as the leader of the board was so far ahead, and they did a 5 laps around in honor of Dan

A ta 5/16 is a type of rum made in Haiti gapeach1066

Hello all. I couldn't belive that little grid the other day - about 26 words, was it? I think that must be one of the smallest I have ever seen.
it was the smallest in over 5 years, according to lickety's list!
Ravishing uusue2!
and hi, jac!
Hi Jac. Cute icon. : )
I hope you like my icon pic. As a Babbler, I saw a Babble meaning in it, rather than what was intended.
lol, min, it's been a long time since anyone called me ravishing :-)
Hi sue.
Hi Molly.
Hi Min.
yes, very cute and appropriate, jac
I don't think I have EVER been called ravishing uusue2
Hi Jac
Sue, Frank is falling short then. : )
And so is Mr. Min
tee hee
'ravishing' is an evocative word - makes you think of Viking invaders in a romantic sense, rather than what was probably the reality.
he can be quite flattering, actually :-)
s's slaughtered
Mr. Jacula is pretty smooth-tongued when he wants to be, too. I think most men are. LOL
well, and because Frank and I were apart for so long, part of him still thinks of me as an 18-year-old
Stupendous!
of course the same part also thinks of himself as a 20-year-old :-)
There's nothing wrong with your man still seeing you as an 18=year-old... but if he thinks he's still 20, too, and attempts something daft - well, LOL.
ah well, I think we all see ourselves as much younger than we actually are, at least once we get to a certain age
I was kinda going off the 'swinging from the chandelier and then jumping off the top of the wardrobe/doing 'it' in the woods on the roof of the car' kind of thing. The stuff that keeps chirpractors in business.
ah yes, we are old enough to know better than that :-)
chirOpractors, I meant.
indeed, we have fond memories of the back seat of a 1967 Mustang; we've seen some 1967 Mustangs in car shows recently, though, and can't imagine being able to get into the back seat now!
sue - Yes, of course we are!;-)
we'd both sprain several things trying, I think!
Ah, to be young again. But which would you choose? Min or body?
MinD, I meant.
mind, no question (unless you really mean min, in which case I'd have to meet her before deciding)
I do wish this chog would get an 'edit' button.
sue - LOL. Min's lovely, I am sure.
:-)
sue - I'd prefer my mind now, which is much freer, and my body from back then.
well. of course!
sue - you do realise I have to clean my monitor now after spitting my drink all over it laughing after reading your post about meeting Min first?
well, that's what you get for not proofreading before you hit enter! :-)
**squeak, squeak, squeak - sound of cloth cleaning drink spattered monitor**
*Hands Jac a mop*
sue - how DRE you say that to someone who proofread for a living! *Indignant Gasp*
t's trampled, and that's fireworks for me!
Well done, sue. *~*~*~*~*~*~*
ta 5/12 the second one pls
first time in quite a while - funny how working takes up so much of the time I would otherwise spend babbling
big red - black road-surfacing material + action word ' to **'.
ugh, I had to go to morewords for that one, red! Like late except with a different last vowel
If this place ever gets the promised "re-vamp" an edit button and an ignore button would be awesome.
sue - it's going to happen to me soon again, I hope. (Working, I mean.)
Hi Molly. Both have been asked for.
oh, jac, I hope so!!
I give thanks every day for tenure!!!
thanks Jac
Jac, keep the faith. *Sends new job vibes Jac's way*
Sue - too many people chasing too many vacancies. But we live in hope.
Indeed. Frank
big red - glad you got and y/w.
gah, my next computer is going to have the enter button nowhere near anything else
anyway, what I was going to say is that Frank has been out of work for over 3 years now and it really is tough
Me, my other half and my son, so all 3 adults in the house, all got made redundant within less than a month of each other.
Alas, the older we get, the less employable we are. That sucks.
good grief - how do you manage?
Sue - we are winging it right now.
yes, and there are employers who won't even look at someone who doesn't already have a job!
oh, that is tough, jac, I hope that something comes through for at least one of you very soon!
A three year gap in employment, unfortunately, does not look good on a resume.
neither does being 62, molly
(which is Frank's age)
We've already told everyone that 'Christmas' isn't on our agenda this year, and we wonder privately , after all the Christmas meals, light shows etc., we've put on for everyone else over the years, if anyone will 'do Christmas' for us, for a change.
Wow Sue.
I hope so, jac!
Jac, they better. I would, if I could. You all deserve to get back what you have given.
We've all resisted going for 'Job Seekers Allowance £67.50 a week' so far, used to be called The Dole. We could have got money off the Government, but didn't want to be called in every week and froced to go for jobs that do not suit. We'll have to see how things pan out though, because bills come in and have to be paid in the end.
Molly - thanks.
tonight at rehearsal one of the ladies was organizing a fundraiser for a local woman - she's a single mom with two kids, couldn't get health insurance because she is diabetic - she is having surgery for kidney cancer tomorrow and has no way to pay for it
sue - well, that puts things in perspective but also shows man's greed over to humanity to other human beings.
Think of how nice things would be if we could actually do that. Jac and clan could come to my humble abode. Jac could teach me how to make her amazing sausage wrapped in pastry. Small gifts around a twinkly tree and lots of good fun.
that would be great, molly! Frank and I would bring some gluten-free treats!
Molly - that would be lovely. Thanks for the thought.
Sue, you, Frank and son would be welcome. Fa la la la la.
deck the halls with boughs of holly...
Holidays are always nice when they are simple. Over doing them takes away the glow.
don we now our gay apparel (I'm sure we have some around here somewhere)
It's not easy to think about Christmas here in UK a) because the weather is unseasonably warm some days and the plants in the garden are confused and b) it gets as cold as it should be for the season some nights and confuses people and plants alike.
sue - tht'd be your stick-on moustache, your white vest, black leather jeans and waistcoat and cap?
do you often get snow at Christmas, jac?
lol, jac, you have it exactly! :-)
Not all gays fit that stereotype. LOL
Cold weather is not a Christmas requirement for me.
or (clothes I actually own although I don't wear much) my gold jeans, gold t-shirt, and blond wig (I wore that for Halloween one year - I was a Golden Girl)
sue - snow at Christmas? Used to get it a lot in my childhood 50s/60s. Then it went away for a bit and my kids got it in late 80s/early 90s. Now it might be back again.
I WANT A PICTURE OF THAT!
cold weather isn't a Christmas requirement for me either although here in northern Illinois we are often stuck with it
I'll see if I can arrange one, molly :-)
Sue - great to know we (me and Beloved) aren't the only ones who own an adult dressing up box for fancy dress etc.;-)
ah yes, ours is mostly for etc *wink*
Picture of what, Molly?
Sue - roflol.
Sue in the Golden outfit.
Over to you, sue!
Oh Lord, who says Physics professors don't walk on the wild side.
well, Halloween is coming right up, isn't it? That would certainly scare the kiddies!
I'll be away on hol at Hallowe'en, so the local kids, who only want money for fags (cigrrettes in UK speak), booze or fireworks will be disappointed.
we mostly get little ones here, and hand out candy
I stick a 'go away' message re Hallowe'en on my porch a few days before anyway. The little ones coming around with their parents know it's okay to come here.
There was a time, just after my kids left school, that I knew all the kids by name and so could scare them more at Hallowe'en if they came for money.
I am not looking forward to Halloween.I am a Scrooge when it comes to Halloween. My hubby like it though.
I do have a 16-yr-old at the High School now, but she's my Stepdaughter and so I tend not to get involved with school.
Min - Hallowe'en begging is just seen as a nastry new American custom here in UK - though the custom did exist back in history here.
I like seeing the tiny kids in their costumes - they are very cute. The cuteness fades when they get to be about 5 or 6, though.
When I new all the kids coming beggingl whatever their ages, I didn't mind so much.
Halloween traditions are all based on Pagan lore. It's gotten too commercialized.
Just after Hallowe'en, comes Carol Singing. It'd be good if any kid trying it for money knew more than the first line of a carol now.
When I lived by myself,I'd always make sure to not be home on Halloween. I would find some excuse to goto the library. This was when I was in graduate school.
Molly - as a pagan, I know that all too well.
Halloween has gotten too comercialized just like the other big holidays;Christmas, Easter & Thanksgiving.
I love Halloween. And I think kids are cute no matter what age, as long as they have costumes that involve some thought.
As a person who had to attend a Church School for the first 10 years of her life, I know all the words to all the hymns.
a lot of Pagan traditions have found their way into Christmas and Easter as well, of course (the Yule log, the Easter bunny hiding eggs)
I like to see little kids in good Hallowe'en costumes, too.
uusue2,how are you doing with the grid.Did you ever get FWs? I had fun with your little countdown before.
I didn't attend church school, but did go to church every Sunday, and know words to most of the hymns too (singing was my favorite part of the service)
Jac...fellow Pagan. Also raised Catholic, then found my true spirituality in Nature.
sue - yes. The Church bent backwards for a while to accommodate the 'pagan traditions'.
I did, min, and jac and I had a rather funny moment that, at least peripherally, involved you
Molly - high 5!
(you'd have to look in the archive, it was around 9:15)
Sorry I missed it! Congratulations on your fireworks.
Since no clues are needed I'm heading off to bed now.
Goodnight to my fellow babblers! I'll see you tomorrow
I looked into Paganism myself for a while; I am too much of a scientist and atheist although it does seem to me that celebrating the solstices and equinoxes makes sense
night, min!
'Night Min.
sue - the funny moment - min?
I think she missed it, jac
and it is bedtime for me too, must be up early in the morning and able to say sensible things about physics to my classes
see you all tomorrow!
Worshipping nature and living with it and learning from it, and healing using it, was once thought as magic, but seems much more natural to me. Healing with science and explaining with science also haas a place.
'Night sue. See upi another day.
Science and magic aren't too far apart.
Both are about the power of the mind.
Magic is science we don't understand yet. - Arthur C. Clarke
afternoon all :)
Molly - good quote!
Time for me to check out. Night all.
Hi MrP. What's happening for you right now? How aare you/ How is Mark? And how are the kids?
'Nigh Molly. Sleep well.x.
things are just going along swimmingly jac... life rafts and long boats are still out and the storm is still hitting hard, but getting used to swallowing salt water and just keeping my head above water :))
Mark is doing better... kids are doing much better now that they are seeing counsel. We will work through it.
Oh, not so good then, MrP. I do know that feeling, believe me.
as usual, I am on the phone to the government agencies all day... joy!!
i know you do jac... it sucks big hairy gonads
we have had our share of misery, i know you and I are stronger for it though
hi all. back to do some more. any clues for the 8s or 9? i need them all.
Hope you can work it through. How do the counselling sessions go? You and him. You, him and kids. Him and kids. You and kids. Don't let anyone blame YOU in those sessions, because, if you do, it will tear you to pieces.
not between him at all... his doctor doesn't.... now how did he put it??? 'roll that way'.
He;;p mkg.
Eh MrP? Would you like to send that explanation to me privately via FB?
i have sessions with children for first 15 min, then they on their own for 45 min, then with me again in last 5 min
I ask you that, MrP., because I've been there re a close relative in the past.
what it means Jac, is that his doctor/psych will not treat the family together... only the patient
i know jac... how is she going btw??
Mark's doc might be wrong - or maybe he's waiting for the time to be right.
Have they done the two-way mirror thing on you yet?
MrP - 'she' is going alright. You can check on her via my FB connection, i think.
mkg - ai8/60 - thing you fly to other countries in.
glad all is better jac (hugs)
thanks much!
got the ai. waiting for more. ty jac.
jac, there is no such thing in his treatment. it is just bullshit really... but everything outside of the hospital is not welcome in for therapy
however, i do have very good support for the kids and myself. and things are like I said, just holding above water.
MrP - you need to make sure Mark's treatment is right also.
any clue for the 9?
I am trying so hard jac... i really am
.... you can lead a horse to water.....
mkg - fa8/60 and verb form 9 begins with The Bionic Man's' wife - or at least Lee Majors' wife's first name. Or think about eh cage you have to get into to withstand lighting stikes.
fa8/60 sounds like heaven but change the first letter.
faven not in grid. not sure what you mean by sounds like heaven.............thinking jac.
MrP - is that comment re the docs or re Mark? Lead horse to water..., I meant.
dont know of cage you get into for lightning...........hmmmm..........
mkg - try this - Meatloaf song - pa by the dashboard light.
boy am i stumped. and dont know lee majors or the bionic man show or movie...........
meatloaf? huh? are they a singing group, the meatloafs?

long way and a TV ** for a product, mkg
MrP - mail me on FB about the details. I will pick it up later.
ty dc. that is a 5 and 6. but c lue was for the fa 8 and 9 i thought.
extend the 5, mkg, then past tense
dcs - you clue the 7,8,9 and following 6. You're good at that.
all extend the 5, adjective for the 7, verb for the 8, past tense for 9
Oh by the way, dcs - stop beating me on Zuma, you swine! LOL.
ty for the fa7, jac :)
y/w. dcs.
ar7/48 stumped me earlier, until I thought back to earlier da5/12 matches in the pub in my life.
fa6/39 and past tense fa8/80 = what a pig did when she had babies.
May I please have a clue for ar5-12? Thanks
Honestly, if you don't know some of these words, where have you been all of your life so far?
gapeach - ar5/12 - US spelling of a knight's king of 'love'.
KinD not king.
i havent a clue what a pig does when she has babies............
Or try, 'when they met at the water cooler, he had a hot flush and was overcome with ar5/12 when he saw her. He slinked away with a protective hand over the front of his pants.
mkg, I don't either. Glad you said that. I thought that I was stupid
mkg - Bloody hell! Try what the bowman fires and then make it past tense.
My favouriate folk singer, Melanie, got it when she sange about city folk and country folk Is it reaaly that difficult?
Thanks, Jacula.
got the ar 5. ty.
jac, got the ar 5 and past tense is 7. is t his the 9 too? i am confused.
no, an adjective is the 7, the 9 is past tense
ad most of frozen water for the 7
mkg, the 9 is an fa.
fa8 is like traumat***, but british spelling
then past tense for fa9
May I please have a clue for du6-24? Thanks
return to regular du6 as able
Thanks, dc
:)
or du6 of the office/position include...
Thanks much dcseain.
most welcome, gapeach :)
dc, gotta tell you what I'm doing....have cheez-it crackers on one side of the puter and alpo dog treats on other side....typing and feeding all three of us .......somehow wound up with cheezeits in their mouths and was going for one of their treats....feeling really silly right now. LOL
gapeach - you have me laughing........ I have done something like that in my life
I've always loved my critters....and just think, we don't have to pay college tuition either.
