Wow, scouser? Imagine how great you'd feel if you did get it all cleaned up? Make a plan... you can only do it a little at a time, right? But if you keep at it and do a set amount daily, it will get done. Start by collecting a bunch of boxes and putting into those everything you can get rid of... organize the stuff according to what it is. Throw out everything that can go, for a start... that frees up room to move around what you need to organize.

though now they have these new rock climber tents that you can just suspend off the ground by using a good tree limb

She's 17 years old and has always been an outdoor cat. She sits in front of the house and meows at people and follows them. She's really skinny too. People who have lived here for a while know her act, and always stop and talk with her. But someone new just posted a sign on the lampost in front of our house describing all the horrid things that happen to outdoor cats.
I would have liked to take him, Molly, but it would have been another $1400 that I don't have, and his dietary requirements make it very difficult for him to travel - he'd probably be ok once we got there but I don't know what he'd do in transit
