It's been a very long day here - hubby is going to have to have surgery on his knee to repair cartilage ... praying he is better by wedding
oh, dee, when is he scheduled for surgery?
we withdrew our offers on the house we thot we wanted - too many inspection issues that sellers will not give us credit to fix...
so thankful Thanksgiving is coming up
he goes for MRI on this friday; then back to dr on 11/29 and they'll schedule him asap (doc knows about wedding)
prayers for a very positive outcome, dee.
today he said there shouldn't be any prob about walking down steps or aisle, but he wasn't 100% sure about dancing... so we'll see
great that the doc knows, hope hubby well be able to walk his daughter up the aisle
usually inspections don't turn up everything...any issues behind walls, etc might show later...especially if a lot of other issues were picked up
since it just started 3 weeks ago, and no major arthritis showed on prelim xray... hoping all will be ok

lol, neil. have had a cramp since last sunday....just another aspect of fibromyalgia. oxycodone is the only drug which relieves the pain. cramp is right down on the bone in my right calf
absolutely! I would NEVER buy a house without a good inspection.
so many of the people on that show paid for such poor inspections...feel sorry for them
We had 3 - a bug guy, a heating cooling guy, and the regular inspector...ticks me off we paid for all that sh... and had to walk, but it was money well spent

My Doc suggested by my symptoms that I may have fibro. I did a lot of research and consulted with my great doc and have experienced LOTS of relief.

Short list: cut out pork meat, cut out sugar as much as possible, 4-5 cups green tea daily with ginger, and MBT shoes and a bit more movement....I suffer no more symptoms....just a tip.

hmmmm....will do that marmar. my problem is that recently(7 months ago) came off my meds for FM in order to take champix, to help me stop smoking. successful...but my FM went manic.
My upper legs, which when I had pain had totally lost all tone and evidence of muscles, are like rocks now. I used to cry when I came to a flight of stairs, pain so bad. Now I run up stairs....

I've smelled pork cooking in the homes of goyim and yuck... the smell of it is nauseating to me.
We have sucralose here, Marmar... under the brand name "Splenda". You can bake and cook with it fine. It's non-caloric and made from sugar!

I heard that the intensive sweetness makes it hard to keep the integrity of the recipe since you don't need as much mass of stevia as sugar, it messes up consistancy and you have to compensate with .... flour maybe....don#t know.

I agree, Hurshy. I won't even put a collar on my cats. One: they always slip them or lose them. There's no point. Plus, they're indoor cats.
yeah i had collars when my cats were young and i'd never had cats before, even though they are indoor too. i was worried if they got out. but once i realized they weren't that interested in getting out, i ditched them.
Micro-chips are much more reliable if you have outdoor cats.

The malware warning doesn't come up in Internet Explorer. That doesn't mean there are not problems on the site.
Was using Firefox when I rec'd the warning.. now on GoogleChrome
Firefox and Google Chrome both throw up the warning when you try to access the site. Anyone using the site should be aware of potential problems later and the fact that software could have been installed on your computer that will access your personal information. Those warnings don't come up just for fun.

Hot water, fairy liquid (mild dishwashing detergent) and a microfibre cloth.

I've tried the squeegee thing but I'm not skilled enough. Always bubbles left over where they shouldn't be.

Fairy liquid is wonderful stuff - no other dishwashing stuff compares. Just a couple of squirts is plenty.
I use the microfiber cloth to wipe the squeegee after each pass and it seems to prevent any streaking..
The microfibre glass cloth is good for shower screens and mirrors as well, no streaks.
Husband once confessed that he thought we had got special non-streak glass in the new shower. He hadn't realised that I cleaned it regularly.
windows are so tall, the squeegee prevents having to climb up and down ladders.. ugh
I just looked up Fairy liquid and it is manufactured by Proctor and Gamble

one year we tried to hire someone to come and "do windows" before the holidays and the window washers were booked till Jan, so we went to the home supply store and bought all kinds of professional stuff.. solutions, squeegees, etc.. saved money in the long run and did a great job ourselves.. having the right equipment helps

my mother has been in a nursing home for over a year she is getting better and we want to bring her home..in order to do that both my brother and I had to get tested for TB..even the doctor thought that was bogus

she'll be in a new home care program that's in 3 states now started in MA

so the state is paying for some of the care?
they will pay for any work that has to be done to make the house safe but will put a lien on her house
so basically an interest free loan
this is supposed to be an alternate to nursing homes but it's like pulling hen's teeth to get her out of there

well from where i sit: it is a new system that they want to work so they are doing everything they can to assure that there are not a lot of horror stories from the first attempts

We had to replace the floor in our kitchen (rather, hubby & son did) a couple of years ago... the sink & countertop stayed in the front foyer, the fridge was in the garage and the stove was unusable in the front foyer (electric, no plug there)... had to wash dishes in the bathtub, tote water from the bathroom sink for cooking on a two burner electric element that sat on the sink/countertop in the foyer... it only lasted a year, thank God.

i've used a humidifier, for though it's rainy, we're still near the desert dry of Winter here
molly -- sometimes you get virus warnings, simply because the computer has no other description for an abnormality and some av programs will give you a warning simply because there is no recognizable signature for the site -- this most often happens when you visit a privately administer site such as Fireworks Forever

I don't think JBV said she got a virus from Babble Expert. She just said that she was confident the site is infected. Or something to that effect. Better to ask her about it. Meanwhile, I guess everyone can choose to use that site at their own risk. I won't be until the warnings are gone.

I just switched to microsoft av free on the new computer -- but still use avg on the laptop. I think both are really good -- ms runs constantly in the background which is nice. Don't use clean up though. 2 very good programs that you can control: Crap Cleaner (freeware for personal use) and Malwarebytes (reasonable price)

night wht. Bitdefender, which is my anti-virus ware, is monstrous. It's taken over my laptop and I am frequently at war with it. Even if I want to use something I know to be safe, Bitdefender fights me tooth and nail. I feel very secure and also annoyed.

I had to transfer a ton of files at work today from scanned files to an external drive, and it made me think of you trying to figure things out the other day.
This was a file made with MS Works, which I have on my laptop but not on the desktop I want to use. So I put it into MSPub, which I have on both. Would emailing it in those circumstances have worked?
Not sure, as I have never used MSPub.
Well, anyway, I was able to carry the MS Pub file from the laptop to the desktop eventually -- had just skipped a step or two, lol!
