I've talked to him 3 times in the last 30 years.. but he calls me to tell me that.LOL
Loren Wagner

election counting is beginning to sound like Chicago when Daly was there
LOL true... on the 21st cos
lol.. god bless daley... he was a crook but he did amazing things for my hometown.
too true
my grandpa was poker buddies with him.
he told me they all had to cheat and let him win every time lol
I think we have our table all set, so the rest will be what it will be
interesting cos!
doesn't matter who gets elected...obama or the repub candidate...if we don't find a way to pay for stuff without borrowing as much as we do....we are gonna be in big trouble when people stop lending us money
anyhoo i hope you have fun!
i'm voting for mr. rocky anderson of the justice party.
absolutely dart... too many are expecting freebies w/o taxing... can't happen
obama signing the new law allowing police to detain americans without reason was just too much.
we are "enjoying " very low rates on the debt now....if that ever goes up, and it will, we are going to be following Italy and Greece and the rest of Europe in a few years
I vehemently do not like obama
absolutely right dart
i only voted for him because i couldn't stand sarah palin. i was a delegate for hillary but this time around he does not get my vote.
and they can take "all " the money that everyone has and it still won't be enough to pay off the debt
definitely he is starting to show his true colors I think
I haven't voted in ages, I refuse to go out only to pick the lesser of all the evils.
I know that's unAmerican, but there it is.
need to vote though rb... that is one privilege we still have
ok they are about to announce the winner
2 minutes, they said.
fireworks thx for the helps
I understand how you feel
WTG VAN!!!
vnj van
Oh, I vote on local issues that mean something to me, but I haven't like a presidential candidate in 30 years or more.
obama is a good man.
yay, vanilla!
i vote every time. even if its just for a referrendum lol
Americans think they "deserve" benefits of socialized countries w/o taxation... none of it makes sense to my accounting brain
me, too, cos
because i want the right to moan about it :)
but rbud... voting local is very important too so good on ya :)
I moan about the lack of good choices, that's my complaint.
gyne
fair enough! :)
oops..
en6 please?
your voting seems to go on forever, dreading the time we'll be a republic and have to go through that all the time
i keep trying engima
en 6/21 make someone endeared to you or love you cos
if we lose the ability to borrow, we are screwed. who will loan any money if they know they won't get it back and then we can only spend what is brought in. Which means a 40% cut of the budget. Pensions, welfare, military etc. It will come if we don't get our house in order and time is not on our side forever.
thanks dee!
i was spelling it with an e at the end. doh
wtg
absolutely agree dart
we keep trying to get farther and farther off the grid, maybe build a moat around the place... we have a dream! ;p
ok here goes... the announcement....
as an ousider i dont any of the republican candidates as a potential president
Morning all - short of an am - am 5 the after am for friends
mitt romney has won the iowa cuaucses by 14 votes.
the closest presidential caucus/primary of any 50 states in history.
8 votes! :O
A + not yours
got that one but thxs
yipes shows significance of voting this time...
but that means nothing because romney, santorum and paul all got 6 delegates each.
oops my bad
change the last letter
romney and santorum have 11 delegates each. paul got 3
got that one as well
am4 is all I have between "friend" and a + not yours
ron paul is a bit scary to me. lots of skeltons in his closet
so you should
its okay - too early in the morning for me - not been up long - got the word i was after - need some coffee before i go to work i think
Well, all, I need to get going. Sleep well, and see you at the flip!! Thanks, dart, van, and all for your help!
np

bye dee and bye all time for me too
Sleep well, am 5

wy4 another one
wy4/12 and wy4/10
thanks! :)
ahhhh, that's better!
good morning
glad u got it !
hello ruby
hi ruby! :)
what a night! we lost power upstairs, so no lights, heat or TV. Candles everywhere, scared dogs.
Fortunately, I found an electrician for this AM. Phew!
how long was it off ruby?
I don't think husband slept a wink.
ah, it was only your home?
so far, 15 hours. But it's weird that only one level would go off like that
very strange
anyone medical around?
did you find out what caused it?
I slept on the couch where it was warmer and I could monitor the dogs better.
hopefully, the electrician can fix it because husband is going crazy without TV and his computer
not that I know of hurshy, are you ok?
well i think so but that is where i want a second opinion.
not medical, hursh, but hoping you're getting better.
the hardest thing about doctors is deciding whether or not you need to call one.
hello hurshy, what is wrong?
yes, that's true, when I was in doubt, called ER, they told me to call the Public Health Nurse and do as they said
i am getting better, thank you rbud. i am just experiencing minor chest pains on the right side. i don't see this listed as a side effect of the painkillers i'm on, nor any heart things as side effects.
can you call ER and get an opinion? or would they insist on seeing you
i can call a nurse at our health plan but since talking hurts would prefer not to if i can help it.
ah, understand that, how about emailing the nurse
figure i should give it a little time, i'm young and healthy in general.
i don't think they have an ehotline but let me look.
no email listed just the phone number :(
darn, how about calling and asking if you can email?
how high up is the pain, hurshy?
due to pain
well it's definitely behind my ribs high upness wise
actually it may already be going away
hope so, for your sake hurshy, but I'd like to see you be reassured
could it be a gas bubble? does moving around help?
if that is the case, it would be reassurring to know
it COULD be a gas bubble i have been very gassy as a side effect of meds
I get that sometimes, I think because of the brewers' yeast I take,; it is a nasty pain, but goes away if I move around
well this was like a dull ache more when breathing in than out, does that sound like yours?
thinking about it, but I don't think breathing affected it....
definitely seems like a possibility
if you've been running your mouse and on your computer more than usual, and are right-handed, it might be just a muscle/joint pain from too much of that, I get pains in my shoulder and bottom of my shoulder blade if I sit here too long.
i feel like this happens occasionally, random pains, but i'm just more on the look out for side effects.
rbud: is there such a thing as straining an eye muscle from using the computer?
don't know, I wonder!
i don't think it's that rbud it feels more inside than that if that makes any sense
you can definitely strain your eyes from using the computer but if you mean more like a muscle near the eye or something then i don't know.
Hello everyone
fireworks for me - thanks for all the help - see you soon
sometimes it even feels like a rib is out of place, I went to the chiro a few weeks back for a working-over, helped a lot.
this is on top of the eye, under the eyebrow. feels like there's a finger stuck up in there sometimes
{{lynxx}}
yay, Kaz!
hi lynn
hello lynxxx, welcome to the layman's diagnosis hour.
lovely to have a medical consult in the morning!!
Hurshy - not wanting to suggest it but I had a sudden attack of pleurisy once. Apparently that is an inflammation in the lungs which causes the (inflated) lung to touch the ribs when you breathe. It was more than a bit painful and you would know if you had that but maybe it is something along those lines
well if it gets worse i would certainly call the nurse but i think it is going away i think ruby's gas guess may have been correct.
I hope you feel better fast!!
does bringing your knees up ease it?
mmm, maybe?
i think the fact that i can't even tell if i'm still feeling it is a good sign.
13 to go but must get to bed. goodnight all, Hurshy, hope you're feeling better soon
thank you flosey, goodnight
goodnite Flosey
good night flosey
the ght being gth and thus not useful is bugging me
mi 5, haha, kitty sound, m + lotsa vowels - always think it's funny to find the variations of "meow"
my kittens have different ways of saying it
sometimes i call cinder a communist kitty cause she says "mao"
and sometimes it's just "ow"
haha! we have one cat who is very talky, he'll just chat away with me.
and then marty is so expressively pathetic with his.
mitten likes to talk when she's got a toy in her mouth, a sort of song of triumph. i killed it, i've killed it!
the other boy says almost nothing, it's always a big surprise to hear even a tiny "mew" out of him.
cinder goes away from us and says things that seem to imply she's lonely. so we're like, just come back then silly.
they are both fixed males, but the "pink" one, as we call him, greets the black one like a long lost pal after the slightest of separations, runs up to him, meow, meow, lick the ears - he's odd. the black one yawns and takes it all in stride.
oh, yes, pinky does that, too, goes off to another room and cries like he's lost, haha.
:)
pinky just showed up one day, declawed and fixed already - no one ever claimed him, so we let him adopt us. he's quite the mouser even with no front claws.
I often think he's one of our own kittens from way back, he's just the color our old calico used to have. so maybe the place was familiar to him.
sort of a pale peachy color, not yellow.
(nattering along to myself, haha!) ;p
sounds pretty
i wonder if they sell non-carbonated ginger ale.
i feel like maybe it exists but is called something else that isn't occurring to me.
not sure, never heard of such a thing myself, but sounds possible.
there's ginger tea, I know.
yay, fireworks! (had to list for the last 11)
anyone here want hints before I poof?
guess not, night all! :)
Clue please for an 7/40
No probs just found it
found "anaheim" calif., but it is a proper name.. anyone home in the chat room?
... found 'antigua" which is even warmer
Hello all.
very nice.. I'll go to antigua .. mornin Scrabbler
hi doseffing
Are you usually up this early, Aloy?
... g'day
22.2 deg on the therm. right now... not good for the orange crop
no.. went to bed early and woke early worried about the temp
Uh, oh. It was minus 5 when I went to bed. Now 10.
Did you cover plants?
brought a bunch inside, covered a bunch.. it is the grove that concerns us
28 deg for four hours = damage to crop
... Did you get hit with much snow Scrabbler? We have none at all on the north shore of Lake ONtario.
Yes. It can cause economic devastation.
we have about a foot here and will get more each day through at least Sunday
oh wow.. hope you have good snow tires
All-season tires on a Subaru.
love Subarus, friend has one but I don't.. do you love yours?
Top row is grey. I'm good.
wahoo, good start
Yep, 2005 Forester with 143K miles. I keep my cars til close to 200K and may go right past that, if I can.
Morning! Question: how can a person be gormless when gorm isn't a word?
excellent !
toth
swmbo, I am clueless
Hi swmbo. Where is the word gormless?
can't find it either
Me too, the world is too mysterious for me alas!
... yes ... but gorm is there ... it just doesn't count
Hey, there is a Qu tile. I am waking up here.
well, I haven't actually looked it up, but I have heard it used many times to describe a simple, naive person. Of British origin I think
Nono, the owrd gormless is not in today's grid, sorry for the confusion
"Special Edition" on NBC--Election 2012.... Settle down, people. Please.
oh for heaven's sake.. just saw the gu6 pig, and my daughter used to have one named "nutmeg" as a pet..
TY for Nutmeg.
yw... she wanted nutmeg to have an exercise pen in the summer, so she built one.. all was well until she forgot nutmeg was out there.. the raccoon discovered dessert waiting for it..
I so dislike listening to politicians. So much BS.
amen to that Scrabbs
Oh, NO, Aloy. SO sad.
yes, it was a horrific learning experience..
sorry to throw cold water in the chog.. blame it on the grid word
BRB, must grab yogurt.
kitty cat talk is in the grid
Back. Got text from nanny for Mary's kids.
hope all is well with them?
That word always trips me up--which vowels.
Elizabeth got sick before dinner-headache, fever. I gave her Tylenol before I left. She is better now but not OK for school. Nauseous. And John finished the Lego project we were working on so he had the nanny send me a photo of the finished project.
aww, wish they were closer for you..
Yep. Then I would see them more than once a week. John wanted me to sleep over so we could keep working on his Lego City project. It's once of those huge projects. He loves Legos, as do I.
do you like the nanny?
And I kinda wanted to sleep in E's room overnight to watch and comfort her because that's what Mary would have done.
The nanny is outstanding. 33, former 1st grade teacher. Mature and great teacher of respectful and responsible behavior. And she will have her first baby next July. It will be a younger "sibling" for the kids. They are excited.
ah, so glad to hear that..
The nanny lives several blocks away. She is the niece of friend of Mary's.
thank goodness for her.. how is the dad doing?
omigosh.. fw
Tough, stoic, in-control MD. Not a nurturing, affectionate father, but does focus on them making good choices.
Congrats! I am stuck with 54 to find. I guess they are there.
... at least 22 of them are
yup, you will enjoy this grid.. guess I'd better get dressed and go out to check the grove.. sun is up.. hagd, Scrabbs (-: .. and you too, doseffing, if you are still here.. ah there you are.. ciao for now!
I will check on FL weather through the day.
And I must get ready for work. Bye.

For want of a properly placed H, the kingdom was lost.

molly, anthony hopkins did a delightful interview some years back, wherein he told a story of how, as a younger man, he had met with a jesuit priest, who told him the two best prayers were "thank you" and "F*** it" !!! One to express blessings, the other to just let it go.....

thanks!!! tertiare will be so happy to have a "boys day!"
car isn't, kje is
i will mention it to the father, but he and the boys have a very specific plan.
The boys have swimming at the Y today. What time will you be home? Should I take her with me?
at least see what kind of fish they are....if they are already on the boy's list, it's all good
you can drop her home any time. I will be home around 4:15
"The Father" sounds ominous.
Yes, I will ask them.
I will give her the choice of staying here or coming with and then will text you.

LOL Molly! Dylan's nickname is Dyl Pickle...thus he is the "pickle" I am referring to. He is in first grade and has had a tough time getting back into the morning routine after vacation.

2 5s both with the same vowel combination

http://r46.me/BabbleExpert20110410.zip
ten years ago i gobbled up much of his writing
I have gotten addicted to a few authors, and whew, that can wear me out!
Yeah, me too. It was a pleasure to see a couple new ones in 2011.
anyway, hi all!!
shalom sue!
i have one for you all to look up.of course you all know peter benchly?
howdy sue
we will be heading to the airport in about 5 hours, which is about 6 hours sooner than necessary
but "necessary" is around 3 am which is impossible for everybody so we will get there early, check in, and then relax
ty so much crossy
well he did a lesser known novel called Q Clearance, where by mistake a no-name office drone gats top end clearance due to a cmputer glitch and finds himself right beside the president as a pesonal advisor

We left Kauai, but had to stop in Honolulu because of a mechanical problem. That delayed our flight from LA several hours, etc. Took us much longer
in e-pub*

tyvm
funny,i am a morning person, the mrs is a night hawk,i love big country breakfasts, she can only tolerate coffee till around 2 in the afternoon,i like boats, she gets motion sickness on the water...
i handle winter fine, she is frozen the second it drops below 60f lol
ah yes...opposites attract, but you both r very fortunate to have each other!
we are indeed
but she is an easy woman to shop for at christmas..just buy anything that makes, retains or throws heat lol
barring that gold and diamonds will do
gold and diamonds works for all ladies!
hehe, other than a few gold chains and her engadgement, wedding and tenth aniversary ring my lady,s gold is teddy bears:)
this year i sent all the way to the disney store in oralndo FLA for a bear for her collection
lol,the shipping cost more than the bear:/
furs go with the gold ad diamonds on this side of the border
we do not do furs
we don't either now we do synthethics
there are so many man made alternatives
snap
it was just an oldexpression...i should have updated it!
she has this amazing winter coat that looks like it is all white fox,but it is synth
finito!
yaa for lbd!!
how do u find her in all the snow?
a red touque!!! lol
atcually the hat to go with it is white but the long scarf is red
and she has the tall eskimo boots with the tassels to go with it
if i do not keep her warm,i never hear the end of it
crossy ..do you know how the eskimos wash clothes....inTIDE!
gasp!\
i use whale oil soap and beat them on rocks
i kno ......a bad PUN!
then to dry them, you just hang them up wet, then when they are frozen solid, you hit them with a long stick to knock the ice off, then finish by hanging round the fire
LOL!
lol, just kidding, but i have been winter camping where it is so cold, you strip down to you undies, toss all your clothes into the bottom of the sleeping bag and hop in.if you leave the clothes out in the tent they become stiff and hard to put on in the morn
Good Morning Everybody! Hoow are you all this fine morning?
howdy nef:))
How are you today, crossy? Am I reading that it's cold there?
was well below minus 25 yeasterday but we are waaay up to minus 10 atm
That's not weather, that's a punishment.
(C) or (F)?
lol samantha, punishment is below minus 40,you have to breathe in thru your nose and out of the mouth or you frost your lungs and if you spit,it will freeze before it hits the ground
once below minus 40,it does not matter much nef lol
-25C is around -10 F; -10C is around 14F
They meet at -40, interestingly
if you do not have good winter tyres, below minus 40,they will get a flat spot and ypu will have to drive slow till they warm up lol
they do indeed mask
I know, crossy, -40 is the same on both scales. (I moved south to the Twin Cities to get out of that weather!)
my brother is in vegas now
was 5 years in costa rica then picks vegas to live
go figure
My DH keeps reminding me that if we move that far south the bugs are much bigger; so we stay here in MN. :-)
lol nef, bugs are not an issue for me at the moment:))
very true, crossy. That's another good thing about living here in the north: no bugs for half the year
but funny enough nef,you go further north of me,north of the tree line and into the tundra,in the summer there all the bugs come out of the muskeg and eat you alive
***Butting in**** Nef - I'm in North Dakota! We're practically neighbors. :) ha!
carlee is the closest babbler to me
where in NoDak are you remluc? I went to ND for my nursing school (sadly, it closed in 1970); and I have family in MT so I sometimes think I know every ND and SD town there is!
I'm in Grand Forks. Home of the most fun nickname debate in the world. :\
YAY, Grand Forks! That's where my nursing school was based! And I worked there in the old St. Pat's Hospital for a year right out of school too! I'm from 50 miles east of there originally.
How's the debate going (I SO wish they could keep the Souix name!)
Okay, I can't spell it right this AM: Soux, Sioux, Soiux?
The debate is constant and so annoying. People are really getting out of hand, on both sides if you ask me. For me, I'd like to see it change so we can move past it and come together. There's a lot of hurtful things being said and I just hate that.
Sioux
And mostly people are mad because of the hockey arena....I don't know. I'm glad I don't have to make any of the decisions.
what is the argument about?
some national league board won't let them have their team name anymore because it's supposed to be racist. They were/are the Sioux, or the fighting Sioux. Why can Notre Dame be the fighting Irish?
good lord...
what about the clevland indian? lol
This must be a college team. The NFL still has the Redskins.
The local Siux tribes for many years were proud of the name; but some other tribes didn't like it in recent years
i am quite sure we will do ourselves in by degrees of political correctness
it is a college team; it's been UND's mascot since the university started
I agree - it's just gotten so heated here that I don't really see any other choice but to change it. Actually, UND's first nickname (change in the 40's maybe?) was the Flickertails. LOL! FLICKERTAILS! Now that's funny.
(and I attended UND as part of my nursing program even though we were a private Catholic School)
Flickertails? I'd never heard that before! WOW!
i'm reminded of a story told to me by my mentor about political correctness...She had to get a message to a keynote speaker in Ohio. She sent her secretary who had no idea who the man was. Instead of describing him as a handsome black man, she described his as a tall man with dark complexion. Had she said he's Black, the message would have gotten to him in no time, instead of moments before he spoke!
i avoid all stores that do not have the balls to post christmas banners or ads,if it is all happy hollidays,i take my money elsewhere
Yes, Flickertails. :) I believe they should just go back to that. Can you imagine? The Flickertails versus the Badgers. LOL
Really? I enjoy having my holidays at least acknowledged. I imagine lots of non-Christians feel the same way.
LOL! Why not, then!
here is one,no longer can that metal lid in the ground be called a MANhole cover..now it is a maintenence access porthole...now that wants me to laugh till they take me away
It could be Beavers...
Erda, is that a college team name?
No, but I fancied "Flickertails vs. Beavers" --
What's wrong with happy holidays? There are four holidays in late December (three religious and one ethnic group). Which one is to be chosen as the most important by people who need to sell you something?
LOL!
our national animal is the beaver, guess with will have to change it to buck toothed rodent
LOL Well there's the Gophers..... :)
Very true, remluc. And I attened the U of MN too...
you could live in Scottsdale AZ and be an artichoke
well, this grid is not doing itself, think ill dive in for a bit..sploosh
I've always thought that the Sioux mascot was presented in apositive way; the actual symbols have always been dignified, etc.
seriously, lbd? I didn't know that
guess what guess what guess what
What? What? WHAT??!
i'm GETTING BETTER!
WHOOOO!
I know - I don't understand it, but I know I'm tired of hearing about it! :)
YAY, hurshy!
remluc, I just Googled it; it looks really nasty! I was up in GF in October (and will be up there again in April for sure) and read some of the news about it at that time. It looks even nastier now!
Hurshy, do you live in New Haven, CT?
hurshy, is your throat feeling lots better? Are you eating soft solids now?
ok, I am very intermittent here, have internet access for the first time in a couple of days (at the newlyweds' apartment!)
hi sue! How are you doing?
I have been having a fabulous time, nef!
We are heading to the airport in another few hours...
(I am sick - really sore throat - but am ignoring it until I get home...)
Are you coming back to the US now?
Yes, we will be home tomorrow afternoon
well, take lost of vit. C asnd zinc lozenges on your flight, and use the saline nasal spray frequently to keep your nasal passages moist (to decrease the possibility of getting "really" sick in the dry air in the plane
I have been gobbling vitamin C like crazy but don't have nasal spray or zinc lozenges
(It may even help you not spread an infection to other passengers)
see if you can find some at the airport if you can't get to a pharmacy before then
I'm not very stuffed up (and not "runny" at all), have a little dry cough sometimes but that's about it - I don't think I'm too contagious to anyone that I'm not in direct oral contact with (that is, don't kiss me!)
I'll take a look when we get to the airport but I don't know if any thing will be open - we get there around 9 pm, plane leaves at 6 am
LOL! I'm just thinking that the dry air in an airplane can make you a lot sicker by drying out your nasal passages. I was just reading about flu viruses etc. and saw that it helps to keep them moist and
the weather here is pretty dry anyway so probably my nose isn't going to get much drier (it is the desert after all...)
that the Vit. C and Zinc Lozenges are very helpful at the beginning symptoms of any cold
unfortunately I didn't get the vitamin C until the cold was well under way - I suspect now it's not doing much except making me feel like I'm doing something
I never think about it being the desert there
It is pretty much a desert. There's a rainy season, Nov-Marcch, but the rest of the year, no rain at all
at the kibbutz where the wedding was held, they get 15 mm of rain per year - that's a little more than half an inch.
well, the best I can say then is take care of yourself. I hope you have a good flight; how long is it?
about 4 hours to Paris, then a 2-hour layover, then another 8 or 9 hours to Chicago
Wow! Never having been anywhere; I guess I always think of Israel as having a temperate climate
At least you have a break in that long flight, sue
It's very hot in the Spring- Early Fall and the winter is cooler and rainier
the southern part is very dry desert; the north is, well, Mediterranean (literally!)
I live in Ara [not far from the Dead Sea] for a year. Very dry, couldn't get used to it
It makes me wonder why they have fought over that area for so many centuries...
*Arad
Religion is the key word. And even though it is dry, the Israeli's have made great use of irrigation
it's so sad that we fight over religion, isn't it?
It's a repeatable pattern Nef
could I please have the stats on that lone O in the 2nd column, 4th row? I can't find it for anything
om 4/5
very true, bichon. But still very sad. the thing that should lift us up rips us apart.
and now it is time for crossy,s quote of the day!!
thanks, bichon
"All the system's paths must be topologically and circularly interrelated for conceptually definitive, locally transformable, polyhedronal understanding to be attained in our spontaneous -- ergo, most economical -- geodesiccally structured thoughts." -- R. Buckminster Fuller [...and a total nonsequitur as far as I can tell. -kl]
i think reading that hurt my brain:(
Damn! Bucky sure brought out the big guns for that one. Good morning, all.
Thanks again, bichon! I did not see that until I monkeyed that word just now!
basically i thing it means "i think,therefor i am"
I was going to say that's a very roundabout way of saying "it's all relative".
that works as well
Or, we all have to think inside the box.
hi, Judi! Love your icon!! :-)
i think we have to cut him off the coffee, whatever we do
And here I read it as meaning why he developed the roof shape!
Yes, Crossy. And take away al lhis Scrabble tiles.
no,he can have all the x,q and y,s
I love your icon too, Judi. How are you today?
I'm good, Nef. Howzabout you?
doing well, thank you. :-) Haven't seen you for a while; am I just missing you or have you been off?
Been busy at work. So, I play a little, lurk a little, chat a little. Mostly work.
well, it does pay the bills better than Babble does, I suppose... ;-)
So true.
Missing the qu7. What a surprise. Any clues?
i'll take a clue too - any clue - i'm totally clueless
Gerund form of lining up
merci molly
thanks, Molly! How are you today?
because i am feeling good today, you get a bonus quote of the day!
rennie, you are not clueless! But my clue will be a type of lettuce for a Ro 7/32!
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. - Douglas Adams
Ty for the clue, Molly.
ty nef
thanks nef!
Ish. Off to work again. No deadlines flying by me! *POOF*
I like that one, crossy. ANd I love Douglas Adams too
Hi Nef, doing okay, how about you?
doing well, Molly. Not even dressed yet and it's now 11 AM! (maybe it's time to do so though)

she's back to normal, hego. She was ill but unaware that she had a badly infected tooth. She had a root canal Dec. 28th
some nice clues for the 7's - ty, molly
it's okay, it's just that I knew he had passed away.
Nef, I'm glad to hear.
jmc, it is a nice story to some, I'm glad you like it. It just sounds awful to me to think of something like that in the head
I remember that. You had told me.
Hahahaha...good when Jac is around? Why? : )
the nurse reaction. : )
hey molls
very true, hego. And is there such a thing as a "retired" RN? ;-)
jmc - thanks for sharing - children need to know what is going on - problems that can lead to the death of a parent should not be kept from them
Lunch time. bbl
Hi JMC. Not liking this Arctic thing that blew into town. Can't wait until it blows right back out again.
oddly many people at the time were surprised that i kept him informed

*throws icicles at ru's head*
Ru, you really bring out the violent side of our anti-war friend. : P
what? they will melt
ok,i must leave you all and go do that nasty work thing, but i leave you all with one more quote to ponder...
I have noticed even people who claim everything is predestined, and that we can do nothing to change it, look before they cross the road. — Stephen Hawking

All depends on your definition of "inexpensive". Nothing like that is in the budget for the foreseeable future.
at his swearing in parties when he would be re-elected to congress

Does that mean we have a generation of Baracks up and coming?

*I* didn't see anyone named after him while I was working in the small prenatal clinic.
well i will behave myself and quit talking specific politics in the chog--no sense offending when i don't really have a vote living in the colony
DH just informed me he needs a ride to a luncheon meeting now; bbs
hi again, all!
You don't have a vote?
we do get to vote for president--but the district is a one party colony--since the republicans refuse to give us a voting member of congress
hi uu!
hi, jmc!
overstock.com seems overpriced
It is, ridiculously so.
what are you buying?
an outdoor ceiling fan
i am now looking at home depot (since i refuse to buy from lowes any more)
Do you need installation, or just the material?
i just need a fan
but for outdoor use and to hang at an angle and with a light. . . .sigh

hi, glant!
hi sue
never seen do4 on it's own before - thought it always travelled with ding!
It's a *cough* slang word *cough*
ah, I'd missed that one!
oh, dear.... guess it's a slang word in the US... i won;t ask, I'll make an educzted guess.... dangly, right?
there you go, glant :-)
I'm pretty sure if you referred to a man's do4, it would be the same no matter what country you were in.
well you learn something new every day - didn't expect to learn that today LOL
are you lot up to mischief again?
always :)
That's why I keep coming back. lol
Who us?? Whatever do you mean?

add the ma 5/16 to those 2 and it might be quite good!
Thanks Ursh and Molly
did you get the 6/27? Personally, I'd start it out with a C for the game...
Tennis???
no, the C uses mallets...
I got it, amelu; just looked up the definition and I agree; it needs a C in front of it
agree
What you would use for tennis was the earlier clue, the fog is clearing.
no, kinda like what you'd use for tennis...
RO 5/16 - the last second one please
sorta in a kinda way...
leave off the last letter of the following... at least, that's mine...
I'd like the stats for the 2nd row T please. I have to 4/4, t4/6 and 6/24. What am I missing?

Hi jmc - HNY right back at you - hope it is a very good year for you
and ro 7 uses a NE state name
oh a south american bird. . . that is why i didn't see it
i have decided to have positive attitude! I will get a job and in fact i have to meeting lined up to find work
Go To Meeting?
ro6/27 is the lettuce.....I'm asking for ro7/32!
I am sure you will with that attitude
in that case, I will have to look
ro6.27 is a ball game thing, ro7.32 is the lettuce
ro the lettuce is 7/32
no no two meetings *sigh* i need to turn the heat up but every time i think of the bill. . . .

Aloha, jmc, molly, flask, bichon
I've never heard of a lettuce called ro6/27
I am sadly home from Kauai, but I can't seem to change my icon.

there is a white puppy dog
I have been waiting to past a url for my favorite hawaiian song it is in my profile too
hi joansie
Okay, Bravo. I just don't see it. It's a groomed Bichon
Yes that is what I was thinking Bich. I had to check the definition of ro6/27 tom make sure there wasn't some odd lettuce I had never heard of.
hows the house coming?
I see a darling dog too!
What? A white puppy dog named Lettuce?
Yes, Molly, the mutant Bichon.

hi again all! in the airport...
on your way home?
we are indeed!
although we can't check in for our flight for another hour and 20 minutes, and it doesn't leave for another 4 hours after that...
geez why did you get to the airport so early then?
thought you would be qu7 all day?
b/c the flight leaves at 6 am, we'd have to be here no later than 3 am
and someone else had a 12:30 am flight so we came with him, got here around 10:30 pm
really? bummer--at least you should be able to sleep on the flight
this way no one has to drive us in the middle of the night
we were at the newlyweds' place - the other traveler was his uncle - they drove all three of us to the airport
oic that makes sense--i did that once when i flew in at 11 and my flight was at 6 am--didn't seem worth getting a hotel
well that was very nice of the newlyweds!
indeed - alternative would have been to get a taxi to a train but at 2 am in a country where I don't even know the alphabet, never mind the language, that didn't sound like something I wanted to do
yikes! yeah traveling where there is no english (or whatever it is) alphabet is dicey
10-20 of the immediate family traveled with them through Israel after the wedding - didn't seem to faze them (indeed we all had a wonderful time)
nice--probably still seemed like a party
of course they've been living together for years...
the couple? clearly not orthodox!
it has been an amazing trip - I have hundreds of pictures and thousands of memories
no, reform
nice i am glad you got to go
so I have pictures of the whole ceremony
my son came with me - it was wonderful for him - he has such a sense of family now
good he had a tough year this sounds like a good end
hi, I'm back again. sue, it sounds like a wonderful trip; the trip of a lifetime!
bbs
hi bye nef
bye jmc
indeed it was, nef!
will you post some of them in your profile, or on FB?
they are all on FB
Nef, I am putting you in time out for moving furniture. Please ask for help with things like that. (Said with love)
Wow! You've been posting them as you took them then!~
Molly, DH just had knee surgery for 2 torn meniscus cartilages in his right knee. If he was home; he'd try to do it. I was just moving a couple of hope chests (empty ones) and a dresser (which was on wheels); so it wasn't that big of a deal. DH would have tried to help and then kept going!
yes, I uploaded them from my phone to my computer, and then to FB whenever I could get a wireless connection
that's amazing to me that you've done that so fast, sue.
I am SO wired :-)
(I'm the person with wedding pictures from 2 years ago that I still have to give to my friend!)
Yes Nef, and who just recently had hip surgery, hmmm? You need to be good to yourself.
it is SO much easier when they are digital!
than
Molly, I had hip surgery back in July; I've been given permission to do whatever I want -except fall!- by the surgeon. All of the furniture was on the same level of the house too
and HOW did I miss that one, molly???
thanks for the clue, Molly! I missed that too!
I'm going to the PB, I hope there is grain alcohol in there because it's been that kind of day.
I have some nice date liqueur from a kibbutz in the Negev, molly, how would that be?
(((Molly))) you need to care for yourself too!
ti7/36?
MS Turner's 1st name + 1st part of Disney's Mickey's Last name
ha, morewords got it for me. fireworks!!!
and thanks, nef!
YAY, sue!!!! WTG!!! (now what will you do til your plane leaves?)
sleep?
Good Luck! :-) It's not always easy to do in an airport
actually I am chatting with my son...
Much better plan!
except now he is planning on sleeping on the floor, so I will read or something
I spent a night at Dulles in 2006 during a heavy rain. I was on crutches; and EVERYTHING closed down after 11 or 12MN. There wasn't a change machine or coffee machine or anything working after that
The floor zamboni cleaners came through somewhere around 2 or 3 AM, just as I'd finally fallen asleep
ah well, here the cafes and the candy store and the book store and the jewelry store are still open
and once we get through security there are more stores which I suspect will also be open
Swarovski crystal closed at 1 am, though...
what time is it there?
1:30 am
at 2 we can check in for the flight and go through security
it sounds like they may stay awake better that Dulles International Airport then! :-)
Not til 2 AM? Wow.
yes, with the early flights and intense security they pretty much have to
and it is purely an international airport, which makes a difference too, I think
I suppose they have heavier security there because of the political and religious state of the Middle East
yes, El Al security is legendary (and the legends are true, in my experience)
at least you're safe!
indeed we are!
and the area around the kibbutz is particularly safe (far southern Israel) - early on there was a skirmish with the Jordanians, and in retaliation the Israelis closed the Red Sea ports - Jordan is otherwise landlocked and depends on that port so they have been careful to keep things on an even keel since then
Israel has ports on the Mediterranean as well but the Red Sea access is also very important to them, so it is in everyone's best interest to keep that area peaceful
(this is the story we got when we were there, anyway, and it seems to be accurate as far as I can tell)
sounds very interesting. I'm not sure that I'd be brave enough to go there right now though
well, I trust my relatives who live here, and they seem to know where to go and not to go
although I did get a little worried about my son when he and the other cousins went to a bar that was right on the Lebanese border - that area has been calm recently too, though
Good thing! (I'm afraid my son would be the one to stir stuff up, so I'm glad it wasn't him!)
his mouth goes before his brain is activated sometimes
my son is actually pretty sensitive
that's good in that type of a situation. My son is very caring and sensitive; but (as I said) his mouth spouts off before he thinks sometimes
I need to fix supper. You have a good trip, sue; sleep now if you can after you get through security.
ok, take care, nef!
wicked wy4 of the west
geesue,i didnoteven think to ask you to look upmychildhood playmates while you were there. I've been unable to find them via the net.
and hi all
Hi TO
hi molly
this is a little beast
I've only been able to pick at it a little at a time since it was a day from hell at work.
ooh sorry
i am trying my .89 loaf of 12grain bread arnold copycat i bought at aldi this week.
Thanks. I should have expected it. My boss is going on vacation tomorrow and I was pretty sure he would pull some last minute, BS stuff, which he did. It's over. And he's gone for a week. YAY!!!!!!!
How is the bread?
yay for bosses' vacations!
it is betterin a sandwich thann plain, perhaps because i had organic twelve grain before it.l when i have full fat cheese vice half fat,if no comparison i would not even notice
have not tried toasted, most whole grain is best that way imo
How do you like Aldi? I've heard good and bad things about it.
we had usedit 15 years ago+ for the rolls for our work picnic, they were fine and very cost efficient. they would order them for us fresh vice going to the wonder store for offlloads.
So it's better for bulk buying?
i have liked everything i have bought there: cornbread crackers (best), spring mix, onions@3lb for .99, baby carrots were .59 for months, i also got brave and tried the turkey italian sausage it was really good. no it is nice you do not have to buy in bulk, except for potatoesbut they comein 5and 20lb sizes
An Aldi is opening up here soon. I will probably try it for some things.
as for frozen convenience foods, i don'tuse them but they havesome interesting ones, esp desserts.
I don't do frozen convenience foods either. The only things I buy frozen are juice, spinach and ice cream.
thst id ehst i did, bought what was intereting noneseentials and what was a good buy like the onions and carrots. I do not have tomgo out of my way, i pass it.
soryy sticky keyboard
they have not been able to get the sausage for months. i was so leery of it i had it in the freezer for a month and when i triedit there was no more. that happens, some stuff is short term stock
Some stores are like that. They buy in bulk and when they run out, it's a while before they get it again.
trader joes.it can be maddening.
Never been there either.
since quaker polluted/improvedtheir maple oatmeal, i switched to tj sand i love it
however, i pass all of these places ont he way to work. so i can afford to cherry pick
Isn't Trader Joe's expensive?
depends. the oatmeal was2.49 for a tenpouch box.
however, for nuts they are great also forcheese
That's not bad.
for baking nuts they are the best
however they do prompt impulse buying. they have neatstuff. i boight a gruyere caramelized onion and ham flatbread.great appetizer
I'll have to remember that.
well just imo.def cheaprethan whole foods but the invenotry intersects not overlaps
Whole Foods is too pricey for me.
forme aswell.y firneds dosay they will never cook thanksgiving again, they get it there. they say the holiay mac & cheese is the best. for two, makes sense
and the husband cooks some stuff,so they are not people who cannot cook at all. they buy all o f their meet there.
I work with a woman who shops exclusively at Whole Foods (don't ask me why because she eats out and orders in all the time) and supports a non-working boyfriend, then whines and says she has no money. Gee, I wonder why.
when we were living in the hotel on work assignment, folks often used their hot food bar
I would try a Thanksgiving like that if it were only two of us. But for my clan, it would probably be too expensive.
whole foods have some great stuff for sure
Hi IJ

And don't get me started on that Snooki creature.
I haven't watched SNL in many years
check out the clips on youtube or hulu...they are quite funny, they (the 3 main sisters) usually pop up on weekend update,
But you know, there are men (and women) who would marry anything for money and/or celebrity.
stat for the top "T" on first column pls.
Sounds like a W word for bar maid, or pirate woman. Rhymes with Dame Judy's last name.
Oh crap, sorry. You said stats. *Goes to PB in search of hard liquor*

God bless the wishbone offense Big Red.
Boomer Sooner!
And God bless Barry Switzer.

: P
Red, "Saving Grace" did some great bits about The Sooners. Did you watch that show?
No, never seen it. May have to Youtube it
My fifth grade teacher is here Mr. ro6/21
I watched it because I was intrigued by a plot in which a "last chance Angel" take up with a hard core, female, alcoholic cop. But it's set in Oklahoma and they did touch on the Sooner love.
do you remember when the episode aired?
fw, now back to words with friends. cu tomorrow
May I please have a clue for qu5-16 the 1st? Thanks
It was lots of episodes. They had a running bit with a cop in the precinct who was a Longhorn fan. And Barry Switzer actually made a guest appearance.
To slake your thirst Peach.
Scratch that. Sorry. Sounds like a nickel, dime or penny.

I think she is close to 70.....sure doesn
look it.

Peach, I'm here and I will light a candle and send you some energy and lots of love.
Anyone else as well.....my sinus' are so bad.
Thanks, dear Molly.
Speaking of energy.....ruru, are you still going to have knee surgery this month? If so, please let us know the date.
Sending you a prayer peach! my sinuses are really giving me fits too
Energy up to The Moon Lady and back down to you Peach. Knowing that you will feel it and find your own energy as well.
Thank you so much, Magazinemom.
Molly you are so wonderful.
clue for the an 7/40 please?
For Peach and MagMom, a verse from John O'Donohue's "Beannacht"... May the nourishment of the earth be yours, may the clarity of light be yours, may the fluency of the ocean be yours, may the protection of the ancestors be yours. And so may a slow wind work these words of love around you, an invisible cloak to mind your life.
Heart related procedure + not pa.
Ah that's beautiful Molly! Thank you!

hey LBD -- read that you-all are in Spring weather too? it's un-nerving to have little frogs singing this time of year...
Tom is cleaning out the dead van that is getting picked up tomorrow and found a lovely pair of earrings that I had completely forgotten... can't wear anymore, but they are pretty. Might try putting them in at some point when I don't have work pending. LBD, I am actually pre-scheduled this month for six days already! :-D

firewords!
Well done, Jen!
I have 6 words left to find
Just ask for clues, if you need any gemini.
I need an A and an R word ~ bottom first column
m, a , e at bottom of 2, 3 4 columns
2 m words
am5/12 = a + the boss is the m*** man.
have that one
WTG, Jen!!! YAY!!!
I don't know how you tell the first 2 letters,, how many letters, how many points?
ma6/21 - a supernatural being.
gemini - I've got to guess since you can't be specific with stats.
I don't know where you find the stats?
en6?
gemini - read the 'help' section above the chog for explanation of how to do the stats.
go to the Friends of Babble below the grid and find Lickety's Babble CLues
I have tile stats and word stats... I have read that
evening all
ahhh that 's probably it Nef... thanks
Shirlock - en6 - to love. You might become en6ed of an object or a person and have a crush on them?
Hi Jess.
thx jac!
y/w Shirlock.
gemini - hope you find what you seek now.
Gemini, for Newbies, first read the Help box (right above the chat log); then I like to refer you to AngelSong's Babble Page (down below the grid again). That really helps first; Lickety's page is sometimes not up for the day lately. All of the people who do these pages do it for free;
nbs
Keep going, jess.
I found Lickety's page,,, that seems like a LOT of help.... I read the help here... I understand that,,, just didn't know where you found the first 2 letters... got it now...
ti7?
26 left and I have to list now.
gemini - you'll also sometimes find list/stats in bios on the chog. That's the first 2 letters of a word and the stats.
singer Ms Turner + the first half of Disney's Mickey's last name
just cheated with morewords and got it
but thx nef
ti7, Shirlock, is a bird like a grouse from Central and Southern America. An anagram of 'in am out' or, failing that, a big hill like Everest without its last letter.
Nef - your clue was simpler. LOL. I always seem to take the roundabout way of clueing!
thanks
thanks all... I found the 2 letter clues
tinamou
Welcome to the mad world of Babbelonia, gemini.
oops hello everybody!
Bug - wrong box!
now THERE is a simple clue :)
*shuffles off to the penalty box*
jess - ROFLOL!
Bug - there might still be a few stale mincepies in the PB.
I love it when others do that for me but it is so embarrassing
so glad Jacula. Nothing but stale Christmas cookies left here.
You do some good clueing, Bugs! ;-)
Bug - not as embarrassing as if you'd typed a rude word in upper case (which people sometimes do).
hee hee Nef. I just came back from having a rest and did not check where the cursor was
I restocked the PB with fudge earlier today and didn't eat any of it
one night at flip, I think I entered 10 words before I realized I was in the chat box.
I have been back at school for 2 days and everyday gremlins sneek in and leave choclates and treats. It is such a temptation!
I think I saw half a bottle of flat champagne in the PB fridge.
I was typing as fast as I could... Not good when you look at the grid and your keyboard and not what you typed
*rummages in the fridge for rum and eggnog instead*
No rum in the fridge, Bug. Renfield was in earlier and she would have drunk all that.
half way
it's ok . i plan to be out as soon as I stop talking lol
LOL, Bug.
Hi. did I miss Renni? Sad Panda face
Hi Herin. Yes, but so did I. She was telling everyone how she behaves herself if I'm in the chog (since I am her boss) but if I'm not... and, since I wasn't, I'll bet she drank all of the rum!;-)
I dont think madam Ren knows the meaning of the word
SWMBO was in here a couple of days ago, too. Not seen her for years!
Herin - which word? 'behave'?
poot. I missed everyone. Yep behave
Herin - I missed them, too. I only saw because I checked back on the chog. I don't always do that but have been doing for the past few days.
My cat so does not take a hint
And the hint is...?
Stop slurping and eating yourself on the coffee table while I am trying to eat breakfast. (yes I got up at 3pm)
phantom angina
Oh I hate it when cats do that! Yes, it's very off-putting.
Slurrrrrrrrrrrrp slurp slurp. Ewww
Jess - an7.40 comes close.
She has been poked half a dozen times with a remote and still ignores me
yes, found that. was trying to get the 6 after it, thinking it might be related... turns out to just be fluffy instead.
try the hard poke with your big toe encased in a slipper. Poke then move the foot upwards in a rapid fashion.:-)
It doesn't work Jac. She is just annoying. probably warm. Lucius was a bed bug this mornign
Kicking her off the table doesn't work?
Did that she got back up and flopped on the corner. the glass is cool
hi jess and thanks for those 2 words
Growing up, I used to live next door to a girl who would sit at the open part of the fence on the patio eating with her mouth open, with all the accompanying noises, and staring at me. I used to hang a blanket over the fence so I at least couldn't see her!
She wasnt special in any way?
She wasn't exactly an umpleasant girl - she'd offer you a lick of her icecream or take a well-sucked sweet out of her mouth and offer it to you. No, she wasn't 'special' - just hadn't been taught any different. The family of 4 shared one toothbrush between them.
O ok. it just sounds like something my friends kid would have done as a boy
Speaking of the word 'special' and how it's come to mean something else, just like 'gay' has... the buzzword on this year's Christmas cards for relatives etc., seemed to be 'special' and so I avoided buying any.
uNpleasant, I meant!
She also had a sinus problem and had 'yellow candles' streaming from each nostril. Sometimes runny, sometimes dried out on her upper lip. BLEURGH!
See the thing is I personally dont find using the word special to describe someone as a bad thinng.. I would say individual but most wouldnt get that
So the kid was more raised by wolves then
Herin - not exactly but something like that. LOL
'special' in UK is used by the younger age group to describe someone who is mentally challenged in some way.
This is only a recent thing, brought about by all the PC nonsense over the past decade.
Jac it is here too but i never seemed to associate it with a negative. I have no idea why
Did you read a so called study about jamie Olivers cook book and how one recipe is worse than a Mac Donalds Burger?
http://tinyurl.com/6yw8jg
Brass in Pocket (1979) by The Pretenders would mean something else entirely now!
Herin - re the cookbook. No, I didn't. Where was that?
Jamie doesn't advocate that you should NEVER eat fatty food or fast food - just that it should not form the main part of your diet.
here: http://tinyurl.com/87o3htx
Sorry I can't still get my new pc to work right
That seems to be a link for the TV series 'V'.

mi5,14 please?
I've got the article now and read it. Once thing the US attackers seem to have forgotten, aside from what I said about high calorie/high fat etc., not forming the main part of your diet, is portion sizes. They are much smaller here in UK and also include fresh steamed vegetables.
jes -mi5.14 - cat noise in French.
thans
k
y/w, jess.
Herin - the pheasant casserole is a case in point. It's not something you'd eat more than once a year.
qu7,52?
jes - standing in line.
so... haven't read the book, dunno who the chef is, don't really care about the argument, but... why is pheasant something you'd only eat rarely?
waiting to be served
thanks
jes - because it's a game bird that can only be shot between August - December.
y/w re qu7, jes.
yah... but you get more than one bird in a hunting season. we used to have quite the trade in pheasant amongst my classmates.
Jac apparently a serve for 4 is a serve is one
Game meat is also very expensive.
Herin - LOL!
not if you hunt it yourself, or your family does.
perhaps I'll get classed as redneck here, but I eat venison year round, and elk also.
beef is expensive! elk is free.
a hunter can take a dozen pheasant; that's a dozen chickens i don't have to buy, and depending on how you cook it, at least 2 dozen meals of pheasant from those.
We watched a programme on TV the other night about a 74 stone woman who'd tried to cover up for her sister over the death of her nephew. She was such a broken and weak woman, I think I can see why she did that. However, she did tell the truth in the end and stop her sister abusing any more of her children. The woman ate about 18,000 calories a day in about 5 meals. Each plateful of tacos, wraps, burgers she ate would have been enough to share between the 4 of us here at home and we'd only eat 8,000 between all of us, 10,000 at most a day.
Jes - we have strict rules here in UK about when game can be taken.
We do here also. But we also have freezers.
there are hunting seasons here too... and licenses....
We have wild deer but they are full of ick
just because you take it in September doesn't mean you have to eat it in September.
Jes, so do we but perhaps filling them with game isn't a priority? Mine's full of home-grown fruit and veg.
And don't start me on the duck hunting. It is bloody wrong that yobs are allowed to shoot to kill not for food.
Herin - I LOVE roast duck. That's what we had on Christmas Day. But it was farmed duck, not wild duck. Wild duck tastes much better.
I'm just saying that the statement that pheasant is something nobody would eat more than once a year is perhaps not entirely true, that's all.
jes - it's true for most people in the UK, other than the monied classes (who can afford bigger freezers).
I think it would be unpleasant to eat pheasant too often.. especially if you've shot partridges with your cartridges..
gilbert and sullivan just showed up! hi ruru
I'm actually not that keen on game meat, other than duck or goose (which doesn't count as 'game' exactly.)
please don't say out of a pear tree
LOL, Westford.
I think we struck ruru speechless. wow
we wait all year for our friend to give us a pheasant pie..good good good
............
hi westford. long time no see
hi bugs
lurking and getting very hungry..one left
I had sweet and sour pheasant at a friends once.. and you had to be careful about the buckshot
I wouldn't call myself especially monied, but I can afford a chest freezer... it's probably older than I am, but it'll hold a cow, a pig, an elk and various birds.
I'm not the pheasant plucker. I'm the pheasant plucker's mate. I'm only plucking pheasants 'cos the pheasant plucker's late. Try reading that out loud and reading it fast.:-)))
he hunts them and then cooks them up
wow
go westford
Jes - your chest freezers must be bigger than mine.
I can go no further without a little clue
whew.. I thought jac said pheasant phucker
and before you point out the lack of veggies, they're in the diet, but not in the freezer.
need ro21 please
ro 6/21 that is
*giggles*..
it's about 3 feet x 3 feet x 6 feet. decent sized freezer, but certainly not the biggest ever.
Hi Ru
West - add a vowel to the end of Julius Caesar's lot.
ro 6/21 the italian cheese westie
I mean in the sense of just mindlessly killing food.
Yay !!! Thank you. Fire Works
I mean not for food
and probably cost $50 used a half dozen years ago, so not sure why that would be a "monied" thing.
hi herin
Anyone actually tried saying my little rhyme out loud yet?
yeah westie.. well done
Howdy
I'm afraid to jac
thank you ..these little ones get me
Jes - I'm talking about things in general in the UK, not about you in the US.
hi west
ruru - go on! You know you want to...
anyway, off to deal with a dog.
I just tried it jac it's funny
going to teach it to my friend
I know where i'd be going with it fast jac..lol
Later everyone
It's a good one, isn't it? If you don't concentrate ... well, you're lost. LOL
very good actually
'Bye jes. See you another time.
bye jess..
brb.. have to clean up the kitchen from dinner.
I'm usually one meal behind..clean up from the meal before while I'm making the next one
'bye ruru.
i have to go and hang laundry and prep dinner
hi and bye herin can you see your screen now?
See you later, Herin.
West - let me know how your friend gets on with it. Are you going to teach him/her in a public place? If so, make sure you write it down so you don't have to attempt saying it in public yourself.:-)
good idea jac..he needs a good laugh as does she..had part of a lung removed just before Christmas
Choking with laughter might be risky then, west!
yeah, maybe I'll wait
Blushing is okay though.
we go way back..I dated his friend in high school
we spend Christmas Eve with the whole gang
Oh, don't talk to me about boyfriend's from way back. I've just seen up to date pics of a couple of mine from back in the 70s. One looks just the same, just slighty grey and the other looks like his face has been ravaged by a dissolute life. (They are brothers!)
you dated brothers, Jac?
which one is married?
help with the first qu 6/33 please?
Nef - yes, but not both at the same time!
(sorry, popping in and out while playing words with friends on FB;
what you do to your thirst joey
hi nef and joey popping in is always good
thanks, bunches westfford
en5/10, ro5/16 and mi 5/14
yw
but sometimes when you pop in, the chat is very strange or interesting
en and spanish aunt
West - the one who is still married to the girl he went out with after I broke his heart (so I'm told) is still looking good. The other brother, with whom the relationship was not serious, did marry and had several children before his wife left him, saying he was boring (he was!).
ty!
boring is what did it then
I got the pics through still being in touch with the oldest brother of the family and his wife.
ro5 sounds like what a Canadian calls a cap
ro 5/16 is ro and spanish what?
West - sad, but true!
I have that one.... there are 2 ro5/16
recently saw a 'friend' after 50 years..nice enough guy with a terrific wife
the other is a rascal
gemini - a bad man might be decribed as a ro5.16.
oops,, I didn't have one of them,, thanks
mi 5/14 is a fancy cat noise ( French? )
I have them both now,,,, just the mi5/14... french cat call?
west - there's a 'but' coming next, isn't there? (re the old friend)
hmm kk
gemini - the French cat sound has every vowel in it bar 'e'.
no not really jac he moved away and was coming back here for a class reunion so we got together..I hardly remembered him
ty Jac
ty Jac
gemini -y/w
ok ! done
I think I remember most of my past boyfriends, west.
back in the day I was a fan of the Kingston Trio and he and his frat brothers took a highway sign and presented me with it
sounds like a golden girls episode when rose's ex came to visit from their HS years and she had no clue who he was for most of the episode :)
