my friend's boxer got some form of lyme disease from one and is left with nasty arthritis

my grandmother had a stroke after christmas. she's been getting care and was getting gradually better but hasn't made much progress in the last couple of weeks, which i guess means medicare will stop paying for anything soon. my grandparents have some difficult options to face because if she doesn't get better they are saying she needs 24 hour care and nobody can afford that unless they are wealthy...
Oh no. That is a horrible situation.
it is the modern dilemma.
Are you actively involved in this decision making, or just watching it unfold?

hurshy, unfortunately, that is probably what they have to do. In NYC you are allowed to keep 13,000 but the rest have to be used up. Someone has to go to a Medicaid office and get all the information.
Hurshy...those are tremendous sacrifices to make.
How incredibly sweet and loving of you to even think of doing all that.
well my grandfather still works, i don't know how/if that affects the medicaid thing.

It might, hurshy. There all kind of allowances. They will tell you at the Medicaid office. They might have to hire an elder care lawyer. There are all sorts of options.

Daikon is that giant japanese radish. Sriracha is korean hot sauce. But when I made it with my sis in wsconsin and we couldn't find those we used regular radish and mexican hot sauc and it turned out pretty good too
