top notch; only one small issue - the door into the basement opens the wrong way... hopefully closing on 3/23

how is the door supposed to open....does it open and conflict with another door?
thot we might as well do those while we are spending all this money :)
supposedly it should open into a hallway, rather than open towards the basement (so if someone is coming up the stairs they wouldn't get cracked with the door)... we had noticed that when we saw the house the first time - we think they did it so it didn't open into the great room and take up space... oh, and there is one stain in one of the tubs (someone used the wrong cleaner and it left a turquoise stain)

hi, folks! Dee, I've been debating installing a door at the top of the stairs (to our upstairs), and we've had a big debate going on about which way it should open. I think if it opens onto the stairs the knob will be too high for anyone going up to comfortably reach, then have to back down for door clearance... sounds sort of like your situation?

it's an old house, and we have just one heat source, which amazingly enough does a great job. No ducts or vents to close, you know. One of those old Warm Morning heaters, with a stovepipe - hard to believe it works so well. The heat goes right up the stairs, which was okay when they were little, but now they complain.
we just had it reconditioned and the valves rebuilt, the guy who did it said he never sees them anymore, and it was like new.

she may not last much longer, but I'm resigned to the possibility. she's very lively, but now runs into stuff, hard to watch. misses the couch sometimes when jumping up.

the two cats also keep us entertained, they mock-fight all the time, hubby loves it. one is declawed, one isn't, but he fights fair. Lots of yowling and ears laid back, tails swishing, then suddenly a roll around together, then they stop and start over.

one of DH's surgeries (on ZDec. 18th) was arthroscopic repair of 2 torn meniscus in the right knee. We'd known he'd had 1 torn one on the outside; but when they got in there he'd had 2 torn. After the first week or so, it was good; but the ice packs are necessary and then don't push it too much!
(the swelling can last for over a month and is a reminder that you overdid it)
that's what I have heard and am planning on icing a lot.

10 -20 minutes per hour, not continuously. I'd torn both of my knees up in 1996 (fell off a ladder cleaning gutters) and a friend had this really neat cooling device. It's like a 2 quart cooler with tubes and ice bag connected to it; it circulates cold water over the knees.
they sell something like that in a vest. My hubby got one to keep cool motorcycling in the summer.
Ask around and see if anyone you knows has something similar; it really helps pre-op too.

grandson: still looking for surgeons and making appointments. i am not sure when it will be but we must get this horrible tumor out of his body. he is home now and doing fine but the tumor is in his chest still and eating his vertebrae and making a mess of his organs. not a good thing. tricky and risky surgery and i hope all are praying that he survive, that they get all the tumor out as it has tentacles going all over his body............tyerrible stuff.

Not a pain at all Lilliann. Savory is an herb just like thyme and rosemary. Funny that you have none where you are. It's very good for seasoning beef. Any rolled pastry is fine for this recipe.

I think fear of garlic stems from teenage years and teenage angst...perish the thought that one would smell of garlic.
Ground mustard has a different taste than prepared mustard. The seasonings in Italian sausage might compete with the other seasonings in this recipe, I don't know.

Hello all. Just starting but looking for just 100 words. That's my limit. Here it is misty and gray. Not really cold, cold but the into your bones chilly. Making meat loaf for dinner. Have a flan in the oven. When I make angel food cake, the yolks go into a custard. Hope you are all cozy.

No weather complaints here. Chilly rain is pretty typical in early Spring. And it helps loosen up the ground so I can turn it and get it ready for planting.

No! First they have to remove a temporary crown and the tooth is gone. It's the root that has to be removed. I am starting to tremble in anticipation. I am usually not such a baby but this scares me.

it's a battle between the dentists/ortho dentists and us. we won't let them remove them unless it is neccessary!!
i agree molly but sometimes a 2nd opinion isn't always needed, depending on the persons point of view..and that doesn't sound right, but i have memory problems and can't always think of the words i want/need
