List in my profile.
broll, how do I get to your profile ?
Double click on the little pink icon between the name and the flag and then WAIT
OOH ty you, I just normally click on a persons pic.
That works as well
no it doesn't
cos broll doesn't have a pic, that's all
I just got your profile that way.
Explains it.
(0:
PMS, dunno who you are, but if a person does not have a pic on their profile, one CANNOT click on the 'blank pic'to see their profile.
hi everyone clue for the 10 please
anyone out there
well, the back chog says it's an re 9/10 that comes off a 5,6 - but I haven't found it yet, sorry
thanks anyway
Hey guys. Who has the list this morning? Anyone know?
back for a short time. re10 is a plural of re9. re6 (vicar ) + past tense of to consume food
broll has one, just down from here, click on the little pink "handbag" as they have no profile pic
4:19 am
Muchas gracias!
thanks, g'rose! :)
ty
lol i thought the pink handbag was a head & shoulders ?
i really came out to the study to turn off the p.c. but couldn't resist the plaintive tones of the discussion about the re9/10. so now it really is goodnight from me. happy babbling.
goodnight, thanks again
yes, the "handbag" really is a little person, but I've heard it called that over the years and thought it was funny, so it stuck with me.
but it really does look like a handbag !!
good morning my babble friend from the cold frozen north, minus 16 c today:(
*shiver!* morning, crossy! :)
have 30 min, then a 3 hour drive north to drop something off at my fathers ,a one hour rest and a 3 hour drive back:(
are the roads okay up th5?
not bad well plowed with 2 inch groomed and sanded surface
you take care, safe trip.
i shall, have good snows on the car and a nice steady 50 mph/70 kph and it will be fine
trying to decide if I am really up, or only up for a bit. I think I'm up, considering making cinnamon rolls for brekkie.
up here at this point of the winter,we are all in the groove as it were, blasting along on snow packed roads with one hand on the wheel and a timmies coffee in the other and a car stuffed with 12 year old hockey players going hyper on timbits
lol! just another day, then! at least you don't have the 12-yr-olds with you today. :)
nope,not today
a nice eq today from the horsey set of words
I like the old-fashioned-y co 6/8/9 using the high tile, too
ty rbud
yqw! she says co8-ishly
:)
:( well time to get ready be back in 7 hours or so and a tank of gas later:((
any clues for the first ce 4/5 please
but before i go ,it is time for crossy,s quote of the day!
I have lost all sense of home, having moved about so much. It means to me now — only that place where the books are kept. - John Steinbeck
kazz, rhymes with he4/5
tc all and happy babbling
hi and be careful, crossy!
thanks Une
yw :-)
PMS - Why did you alter your shown details immediately after declaring you had the list in your profile? You weren't fast enough for me as I has already spotted the full details on your previous chat! Would you like me to leave your profile? I presume YES and will do.....

TY Both
Hello all. I copied Broll's list into my profile. Since he doesn't have a picture, I thought it might be hard to get to his profile.
Mornin' and ty, Molly
good idea, keep the list moving down the chat for the more recent arrivals to find. :)
Hi Gramma and Rbud
Where do people get the list if it is not in Lickety?
Or, I should say, how do people acquire a list....
Someone generates one after solving the grid
the earlier folks who finish put it in their profiles, or in Babblers Anonymous, or both
OK, thanks.
we have some real whizzes he4, they get through it pretty fast sometimes
it helps to have been playing for years, I'm sure, and know all the weird words that work, lol!
Had these same words yesterday.
Ant clue for the first TO 6/24? And don't tell me it's the singular of the TO 7/36. 8)

good morning!
hi, deb!
clue for the 10?
hello, back for a few
Ruby, and news of Max?
hi ruby
Any news
no, I haven't heard anything and am now assuming the worst
it is a very sad time
Well I'm still hoping for the best
ty molly
don't assume the worst, ruby, you never know. I am hooked up on facebook to a page called "Lost Dogs Illinois" and it constantly amazes me how many find their way home one way or another, even after days or weeks.
hi ruby, so sorry to hear about Max!!!! hope he turns up soon!!!
morning all....what does the 10 start with
but he was so strange and would be unapproachable
must run now but wanted you to know I was thinking about you...
how long has Max been gone?
tomorrow, I'll be able to call all the agencies, police, vets, etc. for one last try
since late Friday night (but we didn't know until Sat morning)
re 9/10, but it's not a real "re" word
thanks rbud
I agree with rbud, he could still find his way home!! I will hope for the best
thank you all
Ruby, my kids cat went missing for 28 days and came back. Keep the faith.
etch
sorry
I think cats are smarter
the problem is that Max had never been off the property, so I don't think he knows his way around
he is probably nearby, unless someone has managed to take him in. I know you say he's shy, but you never know.
My kids cat was a house cat. Animals have instincts that kick in when they are on their own.
I'm afraid he was hit by a car
but we looked along all the roadsides
put up flyers on poles and in shops, it helps!
you have a good picture.
we did that yesterday and told many people, gave out our address and phone number
I used the picture on here
that's good, hope it helps.
and I'm sure he's the only black chow in the agglomeration
just a quick (((ruby))), I bet someone has picked max up and is trying to help him find his way home. keep the faith sweety. bbl.
'morning
I just keep crying and husband, who is no help, just makes it worse
is there a way for him to get back in the yard if he is still nearby?
no, but if he came to the gate, one of the neighbors would see him
i agree with dawg, ruby - he's probably hunkered down somewhere. rufus, when he ran away, was found sleeping under a flowering bush hours after he escaped
we had to close up the hole he got through for fear that Ruby would get out
he may have chased after some female, and will be looking for home in a day or so.
I am praying that you are right
otherwise, next week, I'll start looking for a chow puppy to keep poor Ruby company
the fact that he's never been away make work in your favor, ruby. the scent of your property will be the strongest direction home
he is our 5th chow chow: Rosie, Rufus, Cleo, Ruby and Max
the 3 r's all reddish-blonde
Ruby, I hope Max cmes trotting up the lane today. Dogs and cats are known to return home after days. Dont give up hope.
Welki, I think I found the missing ingredient in veggie cream cheese, red radish!
nope - tried it
I am going back and forth between the kitchen and the bedroom so if I dont answer quickly I am afk.
last night, I went out in the road at midnight, calling his name, figuring because it was so quiet, he could hear me from any distance
darn!!!
tried: radishes, schallions, peppers, cucumber, carrot, onions, even daikon and jicama (like a deli would ever) - i really thing it's in the cream cheese itself
good, you are making me hungry
No etiquette.
kap, i haven't seen you since you were to nyc. the concert - was it fantabulous?
I give up. Next time I am in Bagel Boy I will ask what the secret is. Very few bagels places around now.
Yeah- it was awesome. See it on Youtube. It was a religious experience.
Hi welki.
i would gladly replace Cabana Boy with Bagel Boy :)
:))))
No, we need Cabana Boy. Give him a bagel cart.
fair enough
Welki, I don't see celery in your list. That is in most recipes for vegetable cream cheese.
Name that Gable Butler.
maybe, and i can't remember if i tried it, but i'm not crazy about celery, so probably wouldn't miss (or even notice) the flavor - now, if in tuna salad, that's another scenario :)
Also herbs, dill, thyme, marjoram and parsley.
Rhett
perhaps, they add some heavy cream to the cheese
ding ding ding!
ding ding ding. Pimento.
aha! that's probably it! pimento!
good Sunday morning
Definitely pimento.
bye everybody
(((Mom))) how is your hubby?
hi, mom
bye, ruby - hang tight
(((Annie and Welki))) good morning
((ruby)) hang in there
(((Ruby))) did Max return?
Annie, he is doing pretty good. He wanted french fries last night but all that chewing resulted in being terribly sore.
:(((
Oh Ruby, just scrolled back. I am sorry that Max has not returned home
Where is Max?
can someone please tell me what the 3 & 4 are in he re10 so I can find that word first
Annie, we go back tomorrow and I hope he gets a good report
thanks, kap - next go-round, will include a teeny bit of pimento (if i can find a small jar of them up here - might have to resort to unstuffing olives :)
Kap, he got out of their yard
Pimento sounds like the missing veggie.
all of our pimentoes come in small jars
good morning Buttonman. I am just starting so I am of no help. :-(

I thought they grow in olives

This is a great time for nrkii to visit. I just started cooking not too long ago. That could be a good thing or a bad thing
I just got back in town a little while ago..went to Deep Creek Lake and drove in snow today for at least an hour but it was a funt time.

Hi Kaplan the Magne! How are you doing? Welcome to grid
help with the 10 pls
Hello periwinkle! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.
I gave up on the grid after babbling for th5/12 hours. It is ra 4/4 for me to finish big grids. Now he4/5 is a story of clues. Can't trust my hubby to do household ch 5/14s because he will just go4/9 around & get nothing done I have it 7/28d to him the importance of cleaning well. I tell him that th 5/12 are ot 5/12 things that need to be dusted besides the dressers.Hubby reto4/4s, if you don't like the way I clean, do it yourself! I think I am qu5/16 patient with his lack of cleaning skills.I think it's sa5/16 if I clean the house, then it will get done right.Husband is being an ar4/4 and wants the computer. He'll get very ira4/4 if I do not give it to him. I am going to get out of this se 4/4 now and be an ea5/10 & go find an en 6/18 for dinner that will fa6/27 my belly up and make me fa 6/27 than I already am. I also have to feed my dog who has not ea 5/10 either. I'll en 5/10 babbleland & return later toni4/4. Goodbye for now babblers. See you later.

Hi welki :-)
hi welki
so sorry about your Uncle Louis, Soodles - he had an amazing voice, I listened to his video
ty flosey, jmc
I haven't seen fireworks since the 4th of July, practically.
Condolences.
really kap?
Thank you, Welki. He was one in a millio, and will be sorely and sadly missed.
No, I have had fw here on occasion- I can't remember when
Fireworks are overrated.
and he was a psychiatrist as well? he could have sung my troubles away :)
I read an article in the NY Times about common Rx and over-the-counter drugs that contribute to cognitive decline.
I am on two of them.
I feel like I'm Babbling in a fog. I have 15 c's left. Really?
http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/02/ 27/cocktail-of-popular-drugs-may-cloud -brain/
I read that article too Kap
exercise and puzzles contribute cognitive vigor
:(
I don't know if Babble does.
Yes, jmc. Does anyone here do serious crosswords. I especially like cryptic puzzles
i did crosswords with my mother until about 6 months before she died
I do like cryptics but haven't done any in a while.
she could do cyptic but i couldn't
My dad did crosswords in the Times every day, but I don't think it helped.
I just got a book of them, previously published in "The Atlantic".
Use it or lose it. Isn't that the mantra?
It's a learned accomplishment
he may have been worse then kap
The ones in the Atlantic are impossible, Harpers too. I am lucky if I can decrypt a few clues.
I guess so. II read somewhere that crosswords don't count.
Some are easier than others. The instructions are as bad as the cryptics themselves
hello folks
I never get beyond the instructions.
Why don't crosswords count?
hi TO
i used to to the cryptics when i lived back east - i sure miss the ny times - very expensive here and online just doesn't cut it for me
I don't remember why, but I read that they didn't.
If crosswords don't help, then nothing does.
and kap - those lists are scary - benadryl, dimetapp, lots of commonly used drugs
Hm.
You can do all the NY Times puzzles on line now.
Atenolol.
Yes welki, I've stopped taking Zyrtec
I don't like doing NY times puzzles on line. OMG, Benadryl.
Am I supposed to stop taking the two meds that I take RX?
i'm going to post that article on my fb
uh oh...i thought it was just statins that affect the mind?
'd rather do an online puzzle because I don't have to erase
I absolutely love cryptic crosswords. That sense of achievment.......
I'm surprised that ambien isn't on the list but even if it were, I'd take it.
Then Soodle, you are way smarter than me.
I.
I need to read that article. hello all
http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/02/ 27/cocktail-of-popular-drugs-may-cloud -brain/
The London Times has cryptics, but the English version of them is too hard for me
thanks KaP
I am not over 65, but I plan to be someday.
If all goes well.
je, are you home?is ent you an email
i have a friend whose signature is, "I plan to live forever. So far, so good."
Hoo-hah. I would never ever ever claim to be smarter than Kap.
I have made it to 65, and doing the puzzles every day is a plus. I do puzzles in the WSJ too
i am actually in florida with nrkii kje and redturtle

ch + Sc*** tissue is a brand of toilet paper?
thanks.. my brand! lol
I will use nothing but Cottonelle. One name brand that I am loyal to.
ryan and i were both raised on scott so that was an easy decision for us to make lol
Good for one easy decision. It is wild what you have to discuss when you start keeping house with someone.
lol yes.. like bread.
I had to think on the ch words way too long and it was because of a word I fought with my husband about all the time. Canadian vs American spelling of what you write to pay bills.
ahh yeah... i find the canadian way annoying for some reason.. sounds superficial to me but at the end its only a word i geuss
Nothing bothers me more than the fact that French and French Canadians have no differentiation for how they say Daniel and Danielle. How are you supposed to know if someone is talking about a man or a woman?
pls, clue for th 8? ty
How about the "logic" of their number 80, for one: you HAVE to say "four twenties"!!!
four twenties?
TO i need the th8 as well sorry
that's right
th5/12 + fo3
ah thnks molly
If you know Godspell...th8 oh men of Athens, I say to you
aways thought it was spelled with an e at the end
It is Cos, remember, this is senseless Babble : )
ty. i thought i typed that already
And seriously, quatre-vingts. Did no one have the imagination to come up with a word for 80?
My point exactly!!!
Was going to come out of lurk, but since I am a Francophile, I think I won't. By the way, I can tell the difference, and pronounce it, between Daniel and Danielle. And, I am sure that many people learning English wonder why enough is sounded with an "f" at the end.
hello pam
Sorry Pam, no offense meant. It was just frustrating for me trying to learn the little bit of French that I did. And I must have an horribly Anglo ear because I could never tell the difference.
puts out some croissants to lure pam out of lurking...
sorry had to feed paco
my french professor told me once english was the dumbest language and people in france makes fun of us for it lol
cos.. did you used to be Pavi?
Agreed, there are a lot of odd phonetics in English
i dont know. im not very well educated in reincarnation :)
he had a paco too
must be a common pet name
ahh ok.... i didnt name him. the previous owners did.
Everyone I know who has a Chihuahua has a Paco
Everyone I know who has a Chihuahua has a Paco
did you feed paco a taco?
paco goes whacko for tacos
lol TO; thats what ryan always says to paco when its dinner time... "dou want a taco paco?"
I mean really, does anyone ever name one Henry?
I mean really, does anyone ever name one Henry?
as long as he doesn't say yo quiero taco bell
if he wasnt named already i wuldhave called him ewok
Sorry for the double double post post
s'ok
tries chocolate gateau to lure pam out of lurking
made by Bouchon Bakery
ooh found qu5
that's odd cos
lol TO just read that
fun fact: the word "ewok" never once was said in the star wars movies
I thought an ewok was a chinese email cooking show
Keep trying Ru and I will keep my big yap shut.

ok. now at 99 left. i've met my goal.
nice, cos
won't finish. going to watch once upon a time in 1/2 a hour
I'm grateful for jac's list -- still wish we could have the joy of "lickety's", which makes it all so much easier. But I guess they must have agreed not to be slaves to Babble any more!
I'm with you Jilli. I find what I find and what I don't, I don't care about. And yep, I miss Lickety and his list.
night all
Night Peri
Could I get a clue for the 10 please?
where priests like tabby
sounds kind of like spitting
live.. where priests live
Thanks, ru...got it
or molest altar boys
ouch
that was bad
Molly, I think Lickety has washed his hands of Babble, which he never played, and only provided the list and the wonderful Expert for the sake of mrp when she was having such an awful time with her arm. So now mrp gives us the list when she can, but her family is more important, of course. This is just speculation on my part.
torra
tabby is being creative
oops, tabby!
oops...sorry...not a word anyway
That's too bad Jilli. I noticed that the text on Lickety's List had changed "well I play Babble..." indicating that it is now Mr. P's list. I wish Lickety well, He is missed.
hi everyone
According to FB, Lickety plays lots of games such as Mafia Wars and Operations, but not Babble. Glad he's having the fun he wants! He spent years catering to us so faithfully, and personally, I'm SO thankful!
Hi Jen
guess we will have to do this all on our own now
Oh no, Jen -- mrp provides lists when she can, and several other do too. Jacula has posted one for this grid in BabAnon
okay, thanks
evening all my babble buddies.long hard day,but it is done now and i give you a crossy quote of the day:)
Libraries are not made; they grow. - Augustine Birrell
hi crossy -- can't wait!
I just got the cutest birthday card from some friends
vollymomdee is always good for a list:)
ah yes indeed -- and our local one is growing fast -- new building well on its way.
dee's list is not divided into segments -- the one in BabAnon is.
Jacula is one of the pioneers and amazes me that she could solve these back in the days before any lists or even stats.
Hard say, crossy? Why?
* That's "hard Day"...
And when, oh omniscient one, is your birthday? Seriously, I thought it had already passed.
it was a joke.. you can read my profile molly.. i was setting up for a joke.
*Puts dunce cap on*
Well, can't hang around -- must get supper -- back later...
