oh, and good morning babbs
just watched the queen's diamond jubilee speech to Houses of Parliament
gotta love the brit broadcasters: "I found it to be quite jaunty." LOLOL
Hi Une, hooray for the Queen
morning, annie :-)
she looked quite dapper in daffodil yellow
Une, is there a law being debated in Tenn. re: abortions. Plublishing the names and addresses of all involved?
oh, jeez, let me go look -- I DO know they're bringing back to the legislature all the crap about evolution and creationism . . . AACCCKK
oh, there it is in Huffington Post . . .
prominently displaying my "Red State Democrat" bumper sticker and tee shirt these days!!!!!!!1
Good for you, Une
<---Proud to be an Independent
OMG they're calling it the "Life Defense Act"
The House Health and Human Resources Committee is expected to vote on the bill Wednesday, and Odom said he expects it to pass in the GOP-dominated House. It will then move to the state Senate, where Republicans are also in the majority.
*Throws up red flag* Abortion is probably not the best topic to get into here.
They can't deal with the economy, world affairs so, again, it is women. If men could get pregnant abortion would be sancrosanct.
*sees Molly's red flag* and agrees. shutting up.
molly, we're not debating abortions -- talking about right to privacy for women and their health providers
ok . . . won't pursue
just one more thing . . . remember, this is the state that's been expanding the rights of citizens to carry guns pretty much ANYWHERE
*aside to Une* What next, dear?
I understand Une. It's just a "hot button" topic on most discussion boards and usually ends up causing a huge ruckus.
ok, off my pedestal . . . BBL *poof*
Wow, even trying to keep the peace offends.
Molly, I dont think she was offended.
back to respond . . . if you're talking about moi, I'm not offended, Molly!!! Just need to get dressed and go pick up donated food for soup kitchen! :-)
and now really poofing :-)
what bill are you talking about
just Googled it. Sheesh, glad I live in CT
There's a skating jump in the grid! lu 4/10

Hello Nono!
In the classic movie-musical, The Wizard of Oz, the many-hued Horse of a Different Color that leads Dorothy and gang through the Emerald City wasn't actually painted. Instead, animal rights activists advocated that the white horse be sponged with different flavors (and colors) of gelatin and then physically restrained from licking it off. Submitted by: Melinda Werner Moline, IL

I would like to be a pediatrician in Italy for a bit and then return here fluent in Italian.
flying or baseball?
looked up bats on the web but that did not help
Starts like a word for night, ends like a word for donkey/ass
flying I think
think of the night and end with a y*** log
Great clues!!! TY! *poof*
Also starts like the alley in Harry Potter

Harry Potter does not help me
n + an ***opus has 8 legs + a m*** is a donkey
Some animals are no**urnal. Then add last 3 letters of donkey or ass relative.
ty both for the dummy clue
I kept trying to put an m in the middle
Sometimes a clue just doesn't trigger the answer for us but another will.
OK, I found 28. See you tomorrow.

Good morning, Babblonians!

no 5 - cut a mark in a tree - but don't know if it is the first
thanks didnt see the h
yup, with lickety gone,no sense listing till you come to a grinding halt as close to the finish as possible
Okay, I'm taking a poll. Has this ever happened in your school district: Today they delayed school openings because of...fog.
of fog??..err no
maybe our U.K friends perhaps
I have never heard of this in my life (except in a Steven King novel).
probably delayed cause they want those photo ops nice and crisp and clear if it is a new school opening..need to see the mayors pearly whites as he cuts that ribbon
No school opening. We're in the middle of the school year here.
yes...if it was dense enough our district has delayed school
ahh you said school opening and i hazarded a guess
you mean the start of the school day ..no,never due to fog
due to ice, yes, blizzards yes, whiteouts, yes, floods, yes, power outages yes
I guess lack of visibility is a potential hazard. However, that's one of the reasons they make those school buses BIG and YELLOW. Much the same color as our grid.
lol, this grid should of had one of those stop signs pop out in front just like the bus
Well, I'm still inclined to think it falls under the category of the "general marshmallowing of society".
how many words today?
132

cannabis from Columbia??? good grief! Enable won't allow "online" or "tatsoi" but it goes for drug slang??? What a weird dictionary. I love this game.
It's an L of a word
Enable allows drug slang, derogatory racial slang and acronyms. It's not a very good word list/dictionary.
It also predates the use of computers, so it never heard of things like online, reboot, etc.
ch7 any clues?
I would like to know who is the lazy so and so who refuses to update Enable.
ch7... ch + assault is a vi***** crime
Updating a dictionary is probably not a simple matter
tx molly
Updating Enable would be simple. Just copy the lists that babblers have made over the years.
and create definitions, right?
of course. Who better to know what words are valid and why!!
simple indeed -- LOL
Always leave 'em laughing, they say -- I'm off to bed after a 12-hour night shift. Happy chogging!
i think we would all be happy if it was updated with this years websters dictionary:)
actually updated with ANY dictionary lol
THIS close to yclept
even the scrabble dictionary could not offer any more weirdness than we get with some of our much love gaelic words
indeed uncover just a whisker away lol
lol, the two words i look for first , yclept and tsetse
i look for cwms and efts
yeah, those are good ones
and all the varriations of the old russian ruler
cl6/27?
i have the 6/21, the 6/30 but not that one yet
me too, either
there is a 6/33 cross - like someone who trips over their own feet
ty kje
ok, found it
but, for some reason , it is not clutzy
clue it beautiful
cl6/27 is a bell shaped glass cover - like over a plant or cheese
no uncover,that starts with a k
co6/27?
or... cl6 - c + scottish lake + vowel
a row down not across
co6/27 the Babble grid is made of rows and co6/27s
ty
what i said:)
but the glass cover eludes me
Sorry for chiming in late
cross - look at the second clue
c + scottish lake of monster fame + vowel
ah ty kje
np,i do it all the time molly
yw
cu 6/30 (the first one)??
she was beautiful as she cu6/30 sliced the veal cu 6/24
if u get the co6/27, the co 7/40 is just the plural
there is one before that, cross
Ha! Thanks cross!
greco rosorry kje i have not listed, just calling what i haveman co 6,s and 7,s are used in old arcutecture
good lord,my kb is going insane!

cultely
sorry. Jeez.
crossy watches avidly...
hmm, I dont have any cu30 yet
i just clued a pair of em uncover
well one of em
ah, yes, thanx
The first cu6/30 is an anagram of what you step on to switch gears
nice clue! thanx
Thank you Molly!
: )
ty Molly...great clue
ty molly,perfect clue
kje, hope you aren't getting hammered by the bad weather in your area.
and you used the car gears instead of the purse:) we will get you out tearing up the track yet molls:))
hello
((ruby))
Hello ruby...how are you?
hey
nifty clues in the chog, thanks everybody
hello seaspray
how are you ruby?
the gears anagram is very funny, molly
it has been an awful winter, seaspray, but I'm sure everybody is tired of my whining
I'll just say that we lost our lovely Max
and got a new and brilliant chow chow, Ruffino
Oh no, I am so sorry, we have had our ups and downs as well. I am so sorry to hear about Max, I know how heartbreaking that is. Awww, a new pup. That is wonderful.
What color is ruffino?
he is fluffy beige with a black face, but since this is puppy wool, it is hard to know if he will darken
FW!
he's very handsome and has totalled all my spring bulbs but as soodle said, "Pish on the flowers, they'll come up next year@
yay kje
He sounds beautiful.
he'll probably be shaded blonde like Ruby
lol about the flowers
<-- is a proud dog mama
chow pups are so adorable - all fluff
I have a new grandson Ruby. He is one month old.
the fur texture is so different from the adults
and he's perfectly square
the only one who doesn't like him is Ruby and when she snarls at him and whines, he gets directly in her face and barks
Is your husband doing well?
no, he is fading
I've asked his daughter to come
ruby will warm up - she is just in shock right now that she has to deal with this young thing at her age.... and it didn't even come from her ; )
I hope you're right, kje. I think she's still grieving for Max
I think the noises she makes are probably what a mother dog would say
like - stop it and calm down!
So sorry to hear about your husband...is his daughter on her way?
exactly, kje
she looks like she'll bite him, but doesn't
and husband's daughter will be here in late May, I think
he's only 3 months old but his picture is next to feisty in the dictionary
hugs, ruby... tough time, but you are a strong woman
today I found an injured green finch in front of the house and when I walked over to it, Rufie got it in his mouth. I extracted the bird and held him and stroked his chest for about 15 minutes and finally he flew away
(not Rufie, the finch)
no 4/5 plz rite after the yuletide one
ty kje
no + not miss or mrs
ty ivesy and hello
plural **** de plume
Must go check on my laundry...take care ruby, enjoy Ruffino...it was great seeing you.
ty SeaSpray, you, too
ty kje hello ruby, and everyone.
69 words but they're coming one at a time now
get us some pics, ruby!
any clue for the bottom, right-hand e, pls?
Link to a picture in Ruby's profile
I'm trying to make an album for facebook but my computer isn't cooperating
thank you, molly, I didn't realize that those weren't temporary files
ec6 - hello....lo....lo...lo
<--loves Molly
hahah kje
then make it an adjective
hi ruby, how goes it?
then another ec6 - change last vowel
{{bichon}}
Clutz.
then extend that for a ec7 - upper rank
hello kaplan
ty for the e's
Greetings and salutations.
must run - hagd all
bye kje
I like ch7. I bet you don't all know what that is!
Yes, you eat it at Pesach
it's stew from a crockpot :)
No, you eat it every week.
ty ladies, I wouldn't have thought of that
I bet I do
no good for pesach - it has beans!
It's good if you're Sephardic.
beans are no good at Pesach? What do vegans do?
with a name like kaplan, that's doubtful....especially hyman :)
why are beans out for Passover?
Sephardics eat rice and beans on Pesach.
vegans eat lots of cashews, and gain lots of weight
Some traditions don't allow legumes.
didn't know that
quinoa is the subject of great debate
isn't it a vegetable?
Oy vey, glad I'm not religious
This is very arcane. Some argue that the prohibition against legumes on Passover is due to a misreading of the text.
yeah the whole thing is kind of silly, but silly traditions are the basis of religion, aren't they
If you were religious, you probably wouldn't be vegan.
Not that there is anything anti-religious about veganism per se...
Why Kaplan?
there's a big brouhaha going on now in France that in Paris, all the meat is halal
It's just that the groups don't usually intersect.
and now these 3 hate crimes! oy vey, whatever that means.....
Some people are vegan for health reasons. Surely that must include some religious Jews
Do people all know about the murders in the school at Toulouse?
I know plenty of observant vegans
my sister called from NY to talk about them, said they were a headline in the NYT today
some have relinquished the ashkenazic tradition and taken to eating legumes on passover
kaplan, you saw that the same killer murdered 3 paratroopers (2 Arab, 1 black) in Montauban
near Toulouse
I am one of those, Harry, because I am a vegetarian, and survive for 8 days on eggs and potatoes
How do they know it was the same killer ruby?
I did.
I'm vegetarian too ! but I'm fine with eggs and cheese
same weapon and motorcycle and close by
lack of tofu hurts though
Same m.o. Shot from a motorcycle.
and an attempted murder on another trooper
same gun as well
Isn't tofu from a bean? Soy bean
Did they catch him?
not yet
yes - so no tofu on passover
I could live on matzah and soft boiled eggs or matzah brei
me, too
Passover is hard for me because of the restrictions, and my lack of fondness for matsoh brei.
as long as you have some prunes with that, bichon
if you know what I mean
hahah and true, harry
no problemo Harry
Oh, I do know.
Prunes are good for you. Hi is anti-oxidants
Why can't they catch the killer?
I make sure the kids eat lots of pears and melon on passover
I've taught myself to make Hamantaschen (no idea how to spell it) using Fr puff pastry from the supermarket
and prunes from Agen
Half the fun is making your own dough ruby
I came home from work because the weird spacy feeling I have had since last week accompanying my chest cold has made it nearly impossible to sit with clients
easy for you to say, bichon
I feel so bizarre.
I used to make bread and all kinds of baked stuff -- too old and tired for that now
that was my rationale for having granite counters....
I'm going to watch Days and go to bed. It is like 75 degrees in March and I am really disoriented.
BBL
You're never too old to bake bread. That's why they have bread machines
babysitter's leaving....gotta go! bbl.
if husband would eat baked goods, I'd make them, but if I make baked things, they're just for me
I agree about bread machines. And Ruby, you can make small loaves of bread and freeze them.
mmm fresh baked bread....
that's a good idea
I wouldn't mind making bread just for me. And, I make my pizza dough in it. Saves lots of time
and, of course, the secret fresh bread ingredient is Bridgeford's frozen dough
lol
just braid it, add olive oil and sea salt and call it your own
guests will never know! unfortunately, they don't have it here
I always hope that people who have given up eating things they like because their spouse doesn't like them will reconsider. Why deprive yourself?
sheer laziness, molly
my DIL is a vegetarian so my son has become a great cook
for himself!
Reverse The Golden Rule. Do unto yourself as you do unto others.
that's why I make the prune pastries, just for me
those things to the left of of our chat boxes and pl:) cannot believe that hid from me this long
Home made dough is the best. You can alter the ingredients and outcome. In the summer when it's humid, I use more flur
good night everybody; I'm pooped
I also don't get people who eat out all the time saying "It's just the two of us. You can't cook for two." I call BS on that.
gn ruby
agreed, molly
before I was married this time, I used to cook very nicely for myself

Well done Harry
should I water my spring bulbs? it's been so dry here
If it's been dry, why not water?
do they need water? I haven't seen any1 else watering
All plants need water
mine bulbs already have 10 - 15" shoots... my azaleas are done/over, too...
some cool words in here!
heck, our pool is ready for swimming...
Our azaleas don't come on until April
Pool party at Amelu's!!!
ours usually don't come in until late March/early April, but everything's gone crazy this year... we'll probably get snow in 3 weeks...
Yep! C'mon over!
our daffs are about ready to bloom. tulips don't show any stalks yet, just leaves. hyacinths are pushing up flower heads
I feel like I should get my glads and dahlias into the ground, but it seems so early

Hi Via
Hmm, we have the "let" suffix once again today... but not as many fun fake ones
no warlets or punlets
Alas, no.
thus far, i've found a chicken cu6 and an electrical ou6. That suffix is not used much as of my halfway point. Hi, Molly y viajes
and a little pecan
ty, une, and good afternoon
yeah - and I didn't think little pecan was a real word, but apparently I was just ignorant
hey, seain :-)
i was entertained by the symmetry of el5 the candidate of your choice
well, it's been in 2 grids now so i guess that gives it some validity :-)
I prefer the definition "the stone of a drupe" WTH?
an almond is part of the stone of a drupe.
hello everyone
Sorry, I just can't hang with the word drupe.
hi, nan
hey, nan
i find the drupe frutes inedible, personally.
Hola
with all the stupid abbreviated and common usage words that are accepted, we can't have telecom?!
i've wondered that myself, nan
it takes sysop, after all
It takes arvo, a non-word, but not telecom. Enable is annoying.
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/arvo
arvo is commonly used down here
Morning all
good evening!
hey, lynxx
morning, lyn. Wiktionary shows it as an Australian usage, yes.
mu 5/16?
nm
mu5.16 to do about nothing - spelt like a rabbit house
rhymes with rabbit's home
oh no that is 5-18 -- don't have 5/16
hi Grandma!
oops neither do I
Aww, it doesn't take Battlestar Gallactica robots!
actually the 5/16 is something different. But, got it
so how about a clue, bichon?
mu5.16 was weird. how mu5.16 do you want?
huh. it's A linen or muslin hat worn by elderly women, especially in Scotland.
It meas to swindle someone. Weird spelling. mu + consonant + a** before it's too late
thanks!
ty bichon
yvw
seain - the "elderly" women I know in Scotland don't dress any differently than I do!
what were you cluing anyway?

"beemer" is commonly used slang for a BMW. That doesn't make it a word.
wouldn't that be a proper noun though anyway
anyone have stats for the E words in the bottom right corner?
Repeated sound
i think they are all ecs, 4/6,7/36.4/6.6/30
ec4.6 then extend for ec7 by not short but ***g
ec4/6 reverberation
Dammit, sorry. You asked for stats.
evening all
ec 4/6 7/36 4/6 6/30
hi Glant
hi, glant and dos
Hi Lyn, DCS
... and if you get the ec6/30 let me know ... I've skipped it after far too much time
that's just an extension of the reverberation
thanks all!
yes, what glantrell said.
ec 6 is like ec 4/6 its how you might describe a place where ec 4/6 happens
... okay ... I'll take your word for it ... and go back to looking there
if you can make an ec4 in a place, then that place is ec6
..whatda ya know ... 3 seconds
81f!! 27c at 5:30 pm in march..must be a record
... 3 seconds of brilliance ... unfortunately there were 15 minutes of blindness preceeding the 3 seconss
we had a pretty nasty frost here yesterday morning - unexpected too
we are having crazy summer weather in the middle of winter
... heavens ... we may have to start yard work in March instead of May
i have gone to a list with 36 left
howdy glant:) our winter ended month and a half early, then no spring and right into high summer temps
over 80 and the trees are all in shock and bare of folliage
our weather has been pretty warm (but not hot) which is why i was surprised at the frsot
first one we've has since 11th Feb
we have been having a remarkable range - our greenhouse which is made of PVC stuff have gone from -3 overnight to plus 33 in the daytime - weird or what
so way too warm all over then
the Northern White Oaks are in bloom here, as are the redbuds, the maples, the cherries, the crabapples, and more. The pines pollenated last month. Been crazy.
It's warm by you too crossy?
who has a list? I am only 52 wirds in and coming unstuck!
we;ve had a big blocking high pressure over us for a while but more rain to come thursday/friday
It was close to 80 here and the sun was super strong for March
way warm bichon we are 27c/81f and we are usually 10 degrees below freezing and still skiing at this time
volleymomdee has a list
same here bichon, and tomorrow is supposed to be over 80 here
but, no humidity.
and why isn't zircon spelt zyrcon, amyway??? ;-)
just to spite us Glant
nu 6/24?
hey - don;t you lot know that global warming is an invention of the tree huggers (like me)???? so say the right wing politicians and scientists
small pecan, bichon
ty dc
ty seain
i didn;t know there were small pecans...
indeed, glantarell, we are a menace :)
in fact, global warming was invented by bored Babblers; that's what I heard
absolutely ;-)
glant, here in the north,we have seen the effects of global warming for over 2 years now.this year it is really accelerated!
true viajes
what city, crosshair? I'm in Minnesota (so, almost Canada)
though global warming is technically accurate, global weirdening is a more accurate description of weather patterns
how about nu 6/24?
crossy, I have been conviced about climate change for at least the last 15 years - the acceleration may be enough for some people to start taking the issue seriously, but I fear we may be too late
oooh, I want to use that. I usually say climate change, but global weirdening is so much better
:)
looking for it, bichon
i like weirening too
i am in centereal ontario viajes,3 hour drive north of toronto on georgian bay at the base of blue mtn in the town of collingwood
centers of cells, bichon
ty dcs
i fear that as well glant,it is now self supporting with the ice fields vanishing, all that open water now absorbs heat and there is no ice left to bounce it back
ty again dc
What was your high temp today crossy
... started seeing in 1966-1967 ... I hated my mother playing Bing Crosby singing white Christmas ... I used to watch for the date of the first snow ... ... it was getting about a day later each year ... about 1966 ... the first snow was Christmas day
when you said small pecan, do you mean a variety f pecan that has small trees/nuts, or a dofferent nut altogether???
81f bichon
i thought white christmases were a myth perpetrated by the entertainment industry.
so it's crosshair's westerly cousins who send us their weather... usually bitterly cold winds, but not so much this year
:O how can you hate bing crosby singing white christmas
Giant -- it's a silly not-real word that rhymes with cu7
easily hursh, easily
Wow, that must have smashed the record crossy
lol dc,we are actually lost without our usual winter
thrice in my life, twice in my memory, was there snow at xmas, and each time melted by noon.
i love bing.
gian - try a baby pecan - best description with out using the n word
holy crap crossy! that's sweltering for there, no?
... as a kid lasting snow was about the first week of December ... then started watching it get just a bit later every year ...
I blame my 'bah humbug' tendencies on oiverkill on christmas songs when i was a child
it is dc temp records are being broken every day so far in march for this area
here, it's very rare for it to snow before January in the Winter.
last xmas snow for us was 2010 but that was a weird winter
I couldn't sleep the other night cuz it was uncomfortably hot, which is way effed up for MN... I
... our traditional first day for gardening is the 24th of May long weekend ... ... as I mentioned earlier ... I think I'm going to have to rake the lawn this weekend
someone needs to tell all this to Jim Inhofe.
On the flip side, don't you break records for cold temperatures in a normal winter?
... that's two months ahead of schedule
last year dc,we had 7 feet of snow fall by dec 1th
this year, it was so warm we were mowing grass at xmas, and the ticks and moths did not die through the winter
the fear is that all the plants are poking their heads out in the warmth and then the cold will come back and kill them all
ugh
no molly,this winter was nothing
No, I said in a "normal winter"
ah, g=finally got the pecan thing - could be a generic term
we only dipped below minus 20 a few times..nothing
oh no, dc! killing ticks is the best part of winter!
and i was thinking specidically pecans
i may go into town and see cherry blossoms tonight. DC set the festival way early, and the blossoms coincided with the festival, mich to the US Park Service's surprise.
it's going to be a bad year for ticks and lyme in the East this year, so be aware people!
hi again all!
I am definitely staying out of areas with tall grass, especially with the fluffsters
howdy suze:))
hi, sue :)
fluffsters???? Hi Sue
I think I may be the only person who is glad for the mild winter and early Spring.
cs done
and ticks LOVE queen anne's lace
i'm not minding it, though it's weird things greening a month early.
it is nice, but too many other things are knocked out of kilter molly
i worry that pollinators may not be out at the right time for the flowers, for example.
I can see how that would be so for a normally cold weather climate area, but around here, it doesn't affect much.
it's creepy! I hate Minnesota winters, and I am loving this weather, but it feels like a horror movie.
i have seen bees here - about a month ago
and some flies at the weekend
that is one example dc,our sugar maples were caught off guard as well, you will not be gatting much syrup from us
*Passes around a fresh set of worry stones*
yes, bees are out here, as are wasps
If the leaves come out and we have a snowstorm in April, we could have a repeat of last October
in already warmer climes, the alterations are less noticible
not to mention, likely wasn't cold enough for good syrup production anywhere in Canada or the US this year.
hardly saw a wsp last summer
we are continuing to set temperature records - if March continues as predicted, it would shatter all temperature records, and would even be unusually warm for April (that is, if we were having temperatures like this a month later it would still be unusually warm)
but think on this, wait till 120 is the norm for your summers...
and we become the new florida
I like the warm weather, although it is almost too hot (83F here now)!
here, March as been as warm as late May/early June's averages.
does florida become the new panama? or africa?
120 norm for summer temperatures? *Goes to make end of the world signs*
Ahhh! You are all a terrible influence. I was going to be on here for ten minutes, not an hour. I have work to do!
florida becomes the new sahara
... nope ... Florida sinks below the sea
likely, glant. they're predicting where i live -- near DC to have a tropical climate with monsoons in my lifetime.
a dry wasteland where it is 130 and dust storms
good job the oranges float
work, schmork
that as well dose, all that melting ice cap has to go somewhere
upside, it would be nice to be able to grow citrus.
do you think Babble would take "schmork" as a word?
you can go back to work, viajes, as long as you leave me the strawberry :-)
south east England is already on a hosepipe ban due to lack of water
but it's too pretty to eat, Sue. It's wearing a tuxedo!
so early in the year for drought restrictions! It's going to be a rough summer there.
... only in Swedish kitchens
yes glant, was reading about your water issues
here in Wales that is unlikely to be a problem LOL - 7 miles form em is the wettest town in Britain (if not Europe) at 27 inches a year
*Puts on Chicken Little "The Sky Is Falling" t-shirt*
24" a year of rain Glant. That's not much?
Okay, I'm off to be "productive" or something. Good luck with word-finding *and* with our doomed planet. And on that cheerful note...
water will probably be as valuable as oil in the future
though it was a warm Winter here, it was a wet one, happily. Though Spring is presenting dry thus far. We'll see what happens.
have fun Viajes
bye, viajes!
njoy, viajes
we are grateful for that here.we are stuffed with freshwater lakes and will definatly respect them more in the years to come
27 inches of rain is a lot for temperate Europe
... 27" used to be about average for southern Ontario didn't it crossy? ... Vancouver (on the west coast) is usually in the 50 - 70 inch range
yes, we are about on track for normal precipitation for the year, except we only had about 1/4 the usual amount of snow - most of our precipitation came as rain this winter
yes,but last year was very wet for summertime
We get 40-50" per year
we have had very wet Augusts for the last 3 years - and thta used to be the driest month of the summer
even the mountains upstream from us got little snow.
this year will tell the tale.we had 1/20 of our usual snowfall and it was over almost 2 months early
bbiab, i'm going to go make some food.
... we didn't have any snow last for as much as a week ...
... and I can recall only 3 times it lasted more than 3 days ... ... never like that before
well,if we are to become the new florida,i better get my speedo ready...
<--- on her way to Canada to see Crossy in his speedo...
mm..better hold off on that..this canuck has quite the pelt going...think waxing all that will hurt
:-)
did my Illinois friends vote yet?
I did!
what CD are u in?
16th
oooh. nasty GOP primary going on there. im rooting for Manzullo. Kinzinger is a rising star
they can both go jump in the lake as far as I am concerned
well folks, I htink I'm giving up on this grid - bedtime here - see you tomorrow, happy babbling
lol yes.. but manzullo's old so he's not a threat. kinzinger can go high so he needs to be stopped :)
Manzullo is the incumbent, only good thing I can say about him is that the tea party makes him look sane
night, glant!!
besides eric cantor is supporting kinzinger.
Illinois primaries are my favorite. i m following so many local races tonight im excited lol
cyaa gian - can't give up know as I only have 3 to go
too bad we have no democrat running in the district...

ce + n4/e
ah duh thanks!
ah.. wasn't even looking at that c.
me neither!
i love that word.. have dived in ce6's
synchronicity (sp?) I read it this week, in a book by T.Jefferson Parker. I think I'd never heard/seen it before.
most people think of it as an obscure babble word... but if you've been to the yucatan peninsula (south of cancun) it has a meaning
okay i've made it down to 35 without a list but I think i'm ready to give in soon
ty for that ce6 was trying the wrong c
there are an awful lot of the critters in this grid

42 left here
hi again all!
Hi Sue and Peri
hi molly!
hi Molly and sue,hi all
I think it has some cool words in it, like ch7 and oc6 and cy7- definitely infrequent words.
But as I have 42 left, I will continue to throw in various towels and quit soon.
LOVELY weather we're having, btw.
hmmm, don't have the ch7
It's Shabbos stew, Sue.
ah, got it! thanks!
:)
tyvm kap
Yw.
still short one 7
Definitely not a word I see hear often.
i have a very devout jewish friend on fb and she talks about ch7 all the time.
Ch7- what's to talk about all the time? Lima beans are lima beans.
Especially when cooked for 24 hours.
she loves it i guess
I've had Moroccan ch7- that's good- but otherwise...
does anyone have the first cl6?
Folks, it's a stew that is cooked overnight and into the next afternoon so as not to violate the prohibition against cooking on the Sabbath.
that makes sense kap!
cl + ness monster + vowel
Aaah...c + ness monster + vowel
tyvm miss molly!
i got it the first clue :) good one.
I am still in my fugue state, so I don't know if you actually mean I do make sense.
yes yes you do :P
In this weird state, I got a text replying to a text I never sent, and someone told me I left the car running when my keys were in my hand, so I know people are messing with me big time
wow that is weird
<---Making t-shirts that say WINTER 2011/2012 AND EARLY SPRING 2012 - IT'S THE BEGINNING OF THE END! RUN!!
I was NOT complaining about the weather, I was complaining about my head congenstion.
it's LOVELY weather.
Just like Boca.
;)
When I went to pick up my daughter and was waiting for her in the parking lot, I told her I was in my usual space, and she said I wasn't there.
so my relationship with consensual reality feels very compromised.
Poof! Just like that.
Eh?
cl 6/33 please?
never mind i have it
i meant cl 6/30
Hi and Kaplan loving the Grandma Yeta icon
well, that was cl6/33 of you, cos :-)
hi, herin!!
I don't have that one.
cl6/30 what you step on to change gears
cl6/30 means to grasp (or a small handbag)
ahh thanks
Howdy
Yes, I am in full Yetta mode.
lol sue! yes.
or what Molly said :-) been too long since I had a stick shift...
oh i Love Grandma Yetta!
I clued it as purse earlier Sue : )
lol i like the purse clue too
Grandma Yetta=Millie.
We are getting reruns of the nanny at the moment
oh, does anyone have stats for the 8?
I'm trying to stay in touch with my masculine and feminine sides : P
Cl6 is what Molly does to her throat when someone mentions the weather
there was one episode where yetta looked in a mirror and goes "oh my god its millie!"
no 8/45
Errr is this another grid that requires more brain cells that I have
HA!
I missed that one.
thanks, molly!
I like the episodes with Liz Taylor and Shari Lewis.
Clue for the 8 please for the one that is half asleep
I don't have it.
lol ... chester ate lamb chop
no + letter + what you do when you vote for people
thanks, cos, that is a weird word
Shari Lewis was a stitch.
but it does give me nbs.
Cheers, my eyes and brain still need to wake up
yay polls in IL have now closed. time to open all my news sites! and wtg sue
Cos and I should watch TV together.
phantom or rather not found in dictionary word: cyclon
Do you think the 80 degree weather brought out the voters?
turn out is low they're saying.
Probably because everyone is preparing for the end of the world.
Molly, SHA!
stick a vowel on the end of it, shirlock
Then those people that don't vote can shut it and not complain when it goes to heck
brb making dinner now
i did, would have been funny if cyclon was in the grid, buzz, buzz
I voted around lunch time and turnout had been very low
Grandma Yetta is going to give you such a P****.
I almost put myself in the PB for a rhyme.
It is not the beginning of the end, anyway. It is the end of the beginning.
Part One.
Sounds like an R.E.M. song coming up.
Dang it now I have an ear worm
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVmB3lR jCmc
Lenny Bruce is not afraid.
People should be incarcerated for planting REM ear worms.
People?
People who need people?
:)
nah I like the REM
Can you believe I never know the expression "ear worm" till yesterday?
good thing they posted the lyrics..
sy5 pl
ok, off to watch election returns. see you all tomorrow!

It's perfect Kap
ty shirlockc
I think so too.
"Is That a Camera?": a study of clinical paranoia, by Yetta Rosenberg.
Co-authored by H*Y*M*A*N*K*A*P*L*A*N
Illustrations by Owt Toogetu
mu5/16 pls
I was inspired when a client pointed to the porchlight at my entrance and asked if it was a camera.
Whooooo-hoo.
mu5/16 first part of donkey + abbreviation for Connecticut
mu + 3 consonants
ty
Now I'm wondering if a therapist having a home surveillance system is a breach of patient/client relationship.
Just because they can watch all the nutty people on their little monitors?
not if the patient is aware of said equipment and it is in public areas like the consulting room and not a bathroom
"Is that a camera?" (pointing to my pen.)
Anyone know a good podiatrist?
The idea of a camera in the bathroom makes me oogie.
(deft change of topic)
I need a specialist.
I just think it is charming that we have the word clutzy laid out so nicely in the grid and it isn't even a word.
Well, I am going to trundle off to my bedroom, open the windows and listen to REM.
I am going to go and play pc games since my eyes can't find didly
Hey, can I clear a room or what? : )
You betcha.
<---Babble Leper

Goodbye trentsnana! I'll see you tomorrow in the chat log.
good one, k.
The St Bonaventure women's basketball team just won and are in the Sweet 16 now. The college is a small school an hr south of me and many of my patients attend the school.
not a fan of new girl... though quirky is good
Who is in that show?
fun, scrab!
it grew on me. the lead actress is zoey deschanel. and i bet i spelled it wrong.
Zoe Deschanel, sister of Bones star Emily Deschanel.
they put up a good fight in the men's tourney too scrabs!
holy cow i got it right!
OK, I am on that channel now. I like the Deschanel sisters.
well, the last name at least
still not babblicious though
Yes, LA, they almost beat Florida State.
When my middle nephew Jason was 3 he was in the supermarket with my sister and he eyed a beautiful woman in the aisle. He shouted, "You are babe-alicious!" and she smiled at him while my sister turned red.
lol, awesome
LOL
Being with young kids in public teaches one to expect humiliation.
best word tonight - ou 4/10 Opa!

lol, thanks stid
Hello stidmama! How are you doing? Welcome to the chog.
hey, stid!
*sneaks a hello to the lurking stid*
i felt like i was obsessively washing my hands each time. once, i even washed, dried, used hand sanitizer, dried, and washed again.
i can still smell my bath and body works soap on my fingers!
I would be paranoid too, F.
I tried to be careful, but sipped from my daughter's water by accident!
Hi Stid
daniel had a mini chocolate bar yesterday. he broke off half of it and gave it to me. point of entry!!!
handwashing, and being extremely vigilant, about not sticking you hands in your nose eyes or mouth...we rub our nose and eyes so much, its allergy season!
we had a stomach virus going around the housestaff, and my resident carried alcohol pads with her and was constantly kept wiping down all the phones an keyboards in our room.... none of us got ill
sometimes for chocolate you have to make an exception.
awesome kje
Smart resident. How did the match go for your program, kje?
well, since you know I am here anyway, need the uppe right O for NBT please?
really well, scrab
small wild feline, oc6/21
there is an ou 6 that is something for plugs.
mahalo, fran!
ah, now two O6. thanks red
dooitashimashite, stid. :-)
Good, kje. So many of our students are going into Psych.
well... the school matched their students exceedingly well, the residency was slightly weaker in their matches than usual
thanks for the ou6 also, red...I had the cu6, should have tried other words. :-)
2 words atrt with that prefix, fran
fran, did you just swear at stid?
LOL, you're welcome in Japanese...don't know how to say it in Hawaiian. :-)
aha!
which one, k? cu*?
LOL had I not been distracted by the robin flying into the window... fran, I actually mostly understood the japanese! stidkid #2 is studying in high school.
oh good, stid...didn't want you to think i was swearing at you, like SOME of us here. lol
who, me? I'm ms. innocent!
*cough*
ou
hi, all. quite a stormy night in the area last night, but no damage or flooding.
oh, okay, looking for more ou words. :-)
glad to hear, angelsong!
Hello Angelsong! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.

Goodbye stidmama! I will see you tomorrow in the chat log

I am ok, minver. found out yesteday I have mild, allergy related asthma.
I must get to bed now. See you all tomorrow.
Goodbye Scrabbler! I will see you tomorrow in the chat log

night, k! i better not see any more pins from you. ;-)
yay fran... you are babblicious!
no pins.... if you see them later on, I awoke
okay, have a good night!
Hello everyone
hi gwen!
quiet crowd tonight?
everyone had to be in bed early I guess. :-)
I should be, but my excuse is I'm still on a grandbaby-high. Spent last week with four of them. *sigh*
aww, how nice gwen!
Oh yeah. Youngest is three-weeks-old today. Oldest is amost 5. Twins will be 2 in May. Wonderful wild week.
2-year old twins! Fun!
Only got a small glimpse of toddler temper tantrums during the week.
my kids didn't have tantrums when they were toddlers, but they're making up for them now. lol
It just was nice to be with them. They are moving to Hawaii next month.
Hawaii is a great place for kids. I hope they like it here.
They were there before for three years (except the middle year when my son was deployed overseas). They are really looking forward to going back.
It may be nice fran but horribly expensive. My son-in-law took a job there and after seeing just how expensive it would be to live there my daughter and granddaughter opted to stay here in the states
that's true mcurl, that's why we have our DJ business.
My son is in the Army, so they are shielded from some of the horrible expensiveness.
I moved here from Guam, so it wasn't that big of a shock for me. lol
yes; being military does give some relief! girls are headed to visit daddy for sprint break and plane tickets were over $2000! Wish I could afford to go visit but even without having to have a hotel it's just downright out of reach
hi all
hi ck!
hi
hi fran... gwen
just popped on for a couple before I go to bed
everyone seems to be going to bed early tonight. :-)
It's still daylight where you are, right Fran?
Just past 4pm. :-)
just past 10 pm for me
hello all
Hi cos!
hey fran :) 19 left. think i can finish?
Hmm, are you going listless?
