HAPPY BIRTHDAY , ROSE!!
hi ruby :)
I won, I won, I won! ;)
hello herin! I haven't seen you for a long time
Indian food, how I miss it!
good indian food, so lovely. I used to cook it even.
and, even better, rijstafel!
me, too, but too tired now
close, grin. Rijsttafel. Yeah, that is great too.
certainly can't spell it
but, when I cooked Indian food, used to make serundang to go with
rijst = rice. Tafel = table.
aaah, 14 little dishes!
Hi
yep :D
hey lady :)
can anyone clue the se7 please
Hey not really here trying to find something for my parents
se7/28 a kind of chili pepper
lol... if you are not really here, does that mean I cannot really hug you?
(virtual hug)
Yes I can haz hug
*hugs lady*
what a waste of a perfectly good Qu tile, btw. Just saying.
~Can you give me more ruby please
Hugs back. i am trying to find something for my parents as my father is currently being ripped off by someone and I want to investigate
I hope you can find something helpful
hmmm, se + 2 cons + ___ (like a year in latin
(bad clue) sorry
a**
thanks ruby
Well yes and I also hope I don't Sprite. My father has been making crafts for this man at cost of labor and now they find out he is selling the crafts as his name
Thanks ruby
that is pretty nasty
that is rotten, herin! I think bad guys target older people
husband had his credit card (+ code) stolen this week at supermarket
plus his wallet and cash
ouch... how can he keep his code with his card??
they call it "escroquerie" here
It is bad enough getting these items stolen but it is such a pain getting everything replaced
the guy looked over his shoulder when he was using his card, then stole his wallet, took the card and cash, and his accomplice, (female) put it back in husband's pocket
wow that is evil
so the bank knew even before husband got home
the crook must have bought a TV because he charged 1800 euros + 200 euros
it was at a Carrefour market
awful, ruby :(
it is just one more thing added to his feeling bad
You never keep numbers together.
yeah I can imagine. It is doubly rotten to feel you 'have been had'.
he didn't
the guy looked over his shoulder when he was putting in his code
Are the banks going to reverse it?
I hope so, but don't yet know
I've filed a police report because it's possible that the crooks are on a surveillance camera
let's hope so!
don't know the law here
I think they're very soft on crime.....
they always warn here about the same thing. Screen off your fingers when entering your code, check nobody is watching. They are so very smart with their con tricks.
and husband is not exactly the most alert or aware!
that is why they target elderly people, ruby. Filthy criminals.
he was brought up in a small town and doesn't have the built-in paranoia of a New Yorker, for instance
at least we can be grateful he wasn't hurt.
Not to mention that those stupid pin machines are not conducive to elderly fingers.
yes, for sure
and he refuses to wear his reading glasses when shopping
maybe he will in future. Personally I'd do anything to prevent such filth to trap me again.
I think I'll have to start going with him, but hate to take away his independence
plus I'm nervous about his driving
I think also the shop keeper should excersise a little bit of sense too
don't you drive, ruby?
true
yes, but he won't let me drive him
sounds like it is time he gets his way a bit less often then.
I am trying to get him back on his feet but, needless to say, it's not easy
puppy boy helps a little, but not enough
strange grid, this one. Tight at the top.
121 words, nbt and nbs but no hope in sight
horribly wated q

one of my friends is affiliated with a rescue organization - some of the stories are heartbreaking. i shake my head when people abandon/neglect/abuse animals, but wonder why i'm surprised when i read the newspaper
when the fe6 is up nobody sleeps
hi annie, mom - good to 'see' you :)
Hi (((MOM))), annie,
hi dawg
(((LBD))) good morning, I didn't see you here
nice to "see" you also, Welki
never knew you could pt the ne4 gas
the en 5/10 7/28 and the 8/40 are interesting as i did not know you could extend the en 5/10 that far lol but as a babbler i add more of and superlatives to everything:)
thanks Aloy
se7.28? any clues?
not here, sorry. I'll help look though
sorry, don't have it dawg, will look tho
nope, looking
lookin...
hi folks, se 7 - it's a kind of pepper, I think, spanish for from the mountains
ahhhh, thanks, jbv!
hello JBV
hi Mom, hi everybody

yay for dawger, congrats!!!
congrats, dawg!!
yaa for lbd!!
ty, ty, ty. and now my day must start unfortunately it will be laundry and other house chores. :\
make it a great day, LBD. See you tomorrow
hagd, dawger
crossy - think along the lines - not tenor, not basso, not coloratura -- and then adjust
ttfn. bbl to clue and chat.
name that group of people, they are in the grid and snacked on each other after being trapped in the mountains with no food...
the donner party!
Donner Party - what a party!
hi hurshy
pass the ribs
yaa for jbv!! you win a crossy style breakfast!
hi hurshy
hursh was there first, crossy
hi
morning Hurshy
i am sorry hursh!
did not see you!
you get extra bacon now hurshy
but i don't like bacon
thanks for the se 7
mmm,how about a famouse crossy style 3 egg omlette with mushroom, green pepper and onion, fried all golden brown in butter and served with my new and even more famous mini potato pancakes dipped in apple sauce
ok!
thought you would go for that;00
:)*
oh bothe my key fo the lette between q and s won't wok now
use sa5 wrap on any leftovers
we can add cruncy english muffins and 3 fruit marmalade
yummm
ty aloy
thanks Aloy
yw, am getting hungry now, wonder why..
lol
my bad
the entire brunch orchestra had become an even, was looking where i keep all my kitchen gear and organizing it all..i have no less than 7 fry pans of various shapes, sizes and depths that are used exclusivly for breakfast foods lol
event
are those home-made mini-potato pancakes? i've found some made by McCain's that do okay for a sunday morning feast :)
I will have to look for those, Welki
they har welki,i grate up russets,ad a dash of flour, egg and a pinch of salt, make a stiff batter out of it anf fry ot all golden brown in peanut oil
(potato pancake making becomes a huge time consuming event if home-made - can't make them fast enough!)
here, mom: http://www.mccain.ca/en-ca/Potato/Brea kfastPotatoes/Pages/PotatoPancakes.asp x
they always taste better with ground knucles you know
yep, adds a little salt to the mix *lol*
ooohh, thanks Welki
I'll see if we get Mc Cain's here.
a old jewish lady said they are not the same unless there is pain and anguish involved
i don't recall the brand when living in the states, but that was quite some time ago - they're frozen, or i'd try to send some down!
lol Crossy
you are so sweet, Welki
or what it a old german woman..not sure but her hands were a mess
I remember at one time seeing the smiley fries but that was some time ago
aha! then you DO have McCain's! time for a potato quest, mom!
the pre made ones are Mcain
I am sure one of the grocery stores will have it
and they are an excellent substitute
it's probably a widespread eastern european thing, crossy - include everyone, insult no one ;-)
look in with the frozen french fries, you will see thm
i am sure you are correct welki
I will look on grocery day!
hey crossy - is all the ice melted in your neck of the woods?
it is most difficult to play without that value between q and s :(
the only bad thing about home made,is you grate away, and after an hour of cursing and bloodletting, they are in the pan, then you sit back and watch them eat the entire bactch in 2 and a half minutes...
all gone but for a bit on the ski hills
food pocesso
use the windows emergency on screen keyboard hurshy
mac
eww..forget people still use those..sorry
lol
!
Just switched from the Canada site to the US Site on Mc Cains ... they are sold at another store than my regular grocery store .... will have to make a trip there
they are quite nice mom
my mac is starting to fail, too, hurshy - know how you lean your hands on either side of the keyboard? well, that pressure now toggles the screen or changed the cursor position - very frustrating
they are called "baby cakes" here
yeah i got an extenal mouse but this isn't that, it's that i got a bit of h2o on my keyboad
baby cakes? LOL
one of the te6's rhymes with the slinky pet
completely different packaging and everything
and again, thanks Aloy
yvw, Mom
at least my mitty kitty is still so soft and nice :)
I should scoot off here. Sweetie and I are going to the nursery to get another peopny and then out to lunch.
worth a try, mom - hope they taste as good as the ones i get up here
(((Hugs to all of you)))
I hope so too, Welki
have a lovely day, Mom..
peony*
have a great day, (((Mom)))
bye, mom - have a good day :)
thanks, you as well, Aloy
(((Annie))) thanks, you too
bye bye Welki, nice to see you again. Have a great day
hi
i have on occasion picked up those mCcain potato pancakes when i was not in the mood to grind my onw and they are very nice, but cook them alone with a bit of butter,do not cook them in the same pan with the peameal bacon as they become a sponge and soak up all the grease
howdy hego
morning, hego
hi Annie
I'm hego's daughter . Hello
hi Hego!
howdy shanny
welcome to babbleland, shanny
my daughter is here.
hi shanny, welcome to Babble

hego is in big trouble. I have an addictive gamer personality and I probably will be on here a lot....lol
her, even.
lets see if she finished the grid before you can hego:)
make sure mom pick up a pro account for you shanny:)
oh boy, Babble is one of those games that should have a "highly addictive" warning on it, not that any of us are affected, lol
lol she will Crossy.
I can stop anytime I want to
me too Annie
as i recall,i first found it via stumble upon program, played it for three days and paid for the pro acct on the fourth..but i am not addicted as i have quit many times in the past;))
gm
I'm getting my wallet out. It will take me a minute.

hi crossy, hego, annie aloy, kje, scrabs!
hi scrabbs, sue
howdy scwabby
(that is of course annie AND aloy, I am not intentionally combining you)
I like to finish the Sunday newspaper before I come here.
gm scrab
me too scrabs
I have the comics and coupons to read later.
our big weekend papers are on saturday,so i wade through them then
And I watch Charles Osgood's show on CBS every Sunday morning.
I saw the beginning.
Tomorrow night we will have a frost so I am worried about the flowers, trees, etc. I will cover what I can.
I am usually running around Sunday morning trying to get to church - Frank and I both sing in the choir
lovely sue
I have zero musical ability except for listening.
again, me too
I am amazed that people can read musical notes, translate that to a sound or place their fingers in the right places on an instrument, keep track of time....
and for crossys tidbit of the day,i have a interesting blurb from the globe and mail paper.here at the toronto zoo we have three aging elephants that are due to be sent down to florida to retire in comfort and warmth, but one has a bit of a foot problem and truck transport is out of the question.we have found a large russian cargo plane that will hold our three friends, but the cost was a tad prohibitive...bob barker has offered up the $800,000 that it will take now our three pacyderms are going to be snowbirds and retire in florida!
no one can be do4 today. they will have to be finished.
How wonderful!
Ok...I'm a pro now. hego is in BIG trouble....lol
yaaa for shanny!!!!
uh oh
I read a bit about that, crossy, but didn't see that they were Canadian elephants - very nice!

Yep, this is the looney farm.
lol
hahaha
now, shanny, your mum may have told you stories about me,but that is not this crossy, that was an evil crossy and i have killed him;))
she will fit right in.
shanny, what do you teach? (if you don't mind sharing)
look out for him

Monkey found my missing ve6.
What am I allowed to say?...(rules????)
She has only been here one hour, it's a lot to ask.
Start with stats for the word, then perhaps a definition.
no letters after the first 2
you can give a definition
or break down the word.
And if you ever accidentally put a grid word in the chat log just say that you wanted to give a free clue.
OK.. RE (Feel bitterness or indignation at (a circumstance, action, or person).
how many points, the total value
45 points
TY. I already had re6 and did not continue it.
oh, lol I have it already

never seen the movie ouwachtia
sccrabs left Crossy, but I think you should givr it a try.
... if you're a baseball fan you should ... it was a good bit of fun ... ...
For you the benefits could be huge.

Pini!!!
howdy pini
How is everyone this fine morning?
very good. how about you?
doing ok...spring break is here...and the 2-days of snow is gone...
I sooooo wanted to go tobogganing!
you had snow?
... what is snow?
It snowed on wednesday (no work), rained on thursday (went to work), gone on friday :(
we have forgotten snow.
where is there snow on earth these days?
my cousin in sacramento CA woke up to her first snow of the year this morning!
just popping in for a quick babble and then I think I get a nap.
Pini, that's crazy.
Hi Kap
no kidding, kap!
there is snow in Sacramento and not in Minnesota? The world is going insane.
I have had a recurring dream for years about screwed up weather- snowing all summer and such...
it was really weird on Wed when we got our first snow and connecticut (close to the same parallel) was at 80F (hotter than FL)
Yup we had '80s in MN last week
back to the R.E.M. song...
its 42F here...just weird, very weird
you are psychic Kap! You could go into business
... Just checked the weather network ... ... it is snowing and -29C in Iqaluit
The unconscious knows what the conscious can't deal with
okay I don't know why I thought I didn't need coffee this morning. the natural alertness lasted about twenty minutes and now I'm fading... brb (with coffee)
yup always keep a notepad and a pencil by the bed for those night time revelations kap:)
wow, Iqaluit should be a babble word.
can't evevn imagine what's on that pad......
it should be;)
... yeah ... but if you miss the cutoff on the thruway ... the next one is quite literally the North Pole
I think I am going to take a long nap today.
sounds good
god bless the afternoon power nap:)
had my nap and hello folks
wow, Iqaluit has the coolest-looking alphabet
:)
{{crossy}}
but it is distracting me from my coffee mission!
Hi Ruby!!
(ruby)
hello hego, lovely to see you!
how's the pup?
I always have coffee after my nap
pup is grand, insane, but wonderful! I am full of tiny punctures in my hans
I have been to the gym and now it is rest time. It's been a helluva week so I'm entitled
hands*
wow, kaplan, gym! I am impressed
yes, you had a tough week.
puppy teeth, huh?
Body Jam.
like needles
what is body jam?
It's a cardio dance routine.
aaaah
It's an hour. Kind of hip hop and other moves.
I do what I can.
Yetta doesn't move so quick either.
that is impressive!!!
Nah- I got out of my gym routine for a week or so so it is good to ramp it up.
ahh,to be a person who does not walk for a living and comes home with feet that feeling like swollen gas bags full of poison and glass and can dance:(( after loggin 15 miles a day on my dogs,i dream of new and creative ways not to walk at home
Now I can not move a muscle for the rest of the day. It balances out.
Bicycle Crossy?
I used to dance all night....looking back wistfully :(
lol, will not work running a service station hego
me too Rubes. sigh....
I could have danced all night.
And still have begged for more.
and could run for an hour
I could have spread my wings
{{shared sigh, hego}}
I did the thousand things.....
and do4 a thousand things
though i spent 150 dollars on fancy shoes with high end insoles and arch support and they help
I've never do4 before. I never knew it could be so exciting
still love to dance, but no partner.
[[sharing sigh with hego and ruby]] I miss competitive dancing! :(
my husband wouldn't even dance at our wedding!
Ok I'll switch songs. I won't dance, don't ask me...
good shoes are key Crossy.
I won't dance, merci beaucoup
indeed hego
madame with you.
no singers here. Ahh
I'd dance with you, Kap, but you'd have to be at least 6'2" or let me lead! :)
Heaven rest us, I'm not asbestos.
but when I hold you in my arms, I won't dance
what a lovely ear worm -- now I just need the middle lyrics
Mornin' folks
Who writes rhymes like that anymore?
my heart won't let my feet do thingsthey should do.
{{bichon}}
wow, I missed a lot
nobody!!
Well, maybe Leonard Cohen.
Jerome Kern.
we said aboard the good ship venus..my lord you should of seen us..then maidenhead was...mmm nm cannot tell that on e here'
But nobody knows about him.
it is interesting how much American music shows up in Fr movies and advertising
leonard cohen is amazing
Leonard Cohen doesn't get lighthearted, does he?
Fr popular music is awful
not Limerick's Crossy!!!
got his hew album hego?
not much Kap
I recently saw McCabe and Mrs. Miller on TV with its wonderful Leonard Cohen soundtrack
but who else rhymes comin' through ya with hallelujah?
He needs to joke around more.
liked Mc cabe and mrs Miller.
he is not in a joking mood, his manager stole all his money and he had to come out of retirement and record again
I didn't remember how sad the ending was, but loved the film
I think he is tongue in cheek sometimes.
and do a world tour!
Really Crossy?
really
it's true, hego
poor Lenny.
Poor Leonard.
but he can still draw audiences
cohen was on a 5 year sabbatical and when he got back, all the money was gone
With a sketchpad.
cheez!
he can indeed ruby
Dylan and Cohen.
his voice is rougher, but still wonderful
of course he could retire again now
that would be some team Kap
too bad johnny cash and cohen never hooked up for a set or 2
time to cook, see you later
I used to love Leonard Cohen when I was in high school- I am not so much of a devotee now
I once took my mother and my son to see Bob Dylan in Binghamton's tiny arena
bye Rubes, good to see you.
would have to check all sharps at the door for that concert lol
I don't know why.
lol
and my mother actually smoked a little....
what did she smoke ruby?
Nooner is so a word LOL
mmm...nooners...
she had to have been MY age then....too funny to think about
probably had a great time.
yeah! i agree tabby
That's what I thougt
can we petition enable to have ooner accepted?
nooner*
i think we must ruby!
Hi everyone!
howdy bichon
just in time bichon,we were discussing nooners
Hi Bichon
hello to you too crossy. Solve my list problem. Needed to clean out cache
on which subject, crossy is an expert
Hi hego
Bad Crossy!!
ahh good stuff bichon
nooner? Someone who gets up at that time
tabby started it!
<-- loves bichon
and we never inhaled
bichon is so cute
or a meeting that starts at noon: "I have a nooner tomorrow"
Of course not Rube.
indeed,see? all nice and innocent...
I have a meeting sooner than nooner
um, that's not what Crossy was thinking of.
that's if you're from Oklahoma
if you know what i am thinking, you are in troubble
do I want to know?
I doubt it.
uh uh
back later xx
ok,ill move the "meeting" to one o,clock
; )
bye
for those who have not seen this video, this was posted by scrabby and here is the link
http://www.godvine.com/Banker-Rescues- Ducklings-in-the-Most-Heartwarming-Way -1304.html
Back again. Mother is on the phone and I must multitask while she rambles.
t's tackled and I must go. bbl.
I LOVE that video story!!
bye hego
This sure is hard to do with a kitten on the keyboard
Haha.
I dreamed a kitten was biting me last night
i hate people who ramble on the phone,i am the exact opposite, get on,get the pertinant info across, check that everyone is fine and get off in 3 minutes..i was trained well in the days of party lines and $1.85 a min long distance
and then dragging my papers all over the room
rambling is what free skype is for
But my mother is self-absorbed and enjoys complaining, and she also dwells on details. I am a reductionist--I summarize and avoid the details.
Do you have a cat, viajes?
No. I'm allergic.
i am a minimalist(in training0 and try to down size everything:))
Me too, Crossy.
have just finished turning all my old vcr tapes into dvd, have my beloved e-book reader(but cannot part with my crammed book shelves) opening up once cluttered spaces
Good for you, Crossy.
if i had knnes that worked,i would go all traditional orient with mats and cushions and low black tables with gleaming surfaces
I managed to give away a few old books last week, but it was very hard.
Really?
think i told you scrabby, got the wife a beautiful bonsai tree for her b-day
give away books??? gasp!!!
I didn't know that. Very nice.
I said it was hard.
i loan many, but have every single finction book i have purchaced since 1985 lol
i just finally unpacked -- had built in shelves made
I end up buying back the ones I gave away.
Hi Gail. I am still reading the Armand Gamache books.
books will be my undoing of attaining 100% minimalist environment
books i haven't seen for > 6 years!
I downsized my entire life about 10 years ago, got rid of almost everything -- and the only thing I ever regretted was the books
I love books.
you will have to kill me before you cart my books off
Oooh, and there is a new one coming out this fall! Do you get her newsletter?
No I do not get her newsletter. I will look.
I am slowly walling myself inside with my books. Go to her website, it's very good. And subscribe.
Crossy, I live in fear of having to move because of all the books.
what i am doing to solve that gail is to open my book shop,it is not really a shop to make money, but more as a space to sell and add to my book collection lol
I need to toss old pediatric journals to make room for books.
that way i HAVE to buy more books..for the store of course...
Oh, those journals do take up space. I know a lady here in Vermont who had to move upstairs and then open her downstairs as a bookshop to support herself with all the books she had.
i haven't won the lottery yet either, crossy
OK, my mother signed off by saying, "I know I am rambling so I better shut up and let you go. I'll call back later."
yup,it is often done that way gail
Laptop will die in a moment. I must go to something productive around the house for a bit.
no lottery needed shirlock, lease a small store front for 600 a month, and just move all your books over there and augment it all with saturday trips to the flea market and grab all those 50 cent books out of those cardboard boxes
THIS is productive! I just finished watching the last Jesse Stone mystery. Tom Selleck did such a good job.
my mrs was in lust with selleck in the 80,s
I am watching Ocean's Eleven on A & E. I have to fold laundry, vacuum, then do my taxes.
Bye kids, enjoy the day!
I check the free shelf at the library almost every day. I can't believe what they give away. Tom is even better now!
taxes!!! that's in days!
tc scwabby
Bye. Good to see you.
you are the worst procrastinator ever
I bought Turbo Tax in mid-January but have procrastinated very effectively.
yes,the free shelf at your local library is a good source
mine is sitting next three feet away, but I won't open it until at least April 10
*waving good-bye as I pass the gates of Babble Land and return to civilian life*
i paid h+r block 50 dollars to do mine and the wifes in february..all done finito just like that
I used Turbo Tax and already spent my return on fuel oil.
poor gail,we have not had heat on sice march first with all this heat we are having
I had to turn mine back on today. It was 80 F two days ago. Last week was very warm, but now it's cold again.
once it goes above 50f i turn everything off
I think I'll go be productive for awhile myself. Later Babblers!
this place retains heat well, cooking heat, baths showers etc, unless it is below 50 out,we are quite comfy
tc viajes
hey wait a minute... is skooj out there?
I have to wait until it's 60.
cannot believe it too me this long to see the hawaiian goose in the grid:/
I guess she is not watching the chat box. Anyway, be well!

why is money so tight not, jam?
hang in there Honey.
well i had saving for the construction--which didn't work out quite as well as i hoped because stock market fluctuation and I assumed i would find a job within the 3 years of giving notice
ah
and then the boy has had some unhappy surprises which took money out of my pocket
so although i had it planned out to last 4 years it is more like 2 2/3
ah, kids!

Hi Diane. Did you have a good visit when you came to the island?
the name was Kalia
Oh yes we did Bugsaw, although the weather was not tops, we made the best of it !
hint for the te. Which t does it come from?
My daughter gave me a sort of "bucket list" of things to do in Victoria, and we accomplished most of them !
we still don't have sring here! Victoria is lovely but we still have frost every night.
it comes from the t next to the v, bichon, and is a plural
and it's a te8/40, so all 1-letter tiles
ty sue, I will look
we saw a lot of frost too.... and some sneaky snowflakes too.
and I am off for a while, bbl
I am anxious to get out into the garden. I might be able to do some tidying up today
got it, ty again sue
we climbed up to the cairn atop of Gongales Hill, where we had our picture taken 53 years ago, the summer we got engaged. The people were the same, the Cairn was the same and the climb was MUCH steeper !!
bichon there is an en8 too
don't have the last 8
After a week and a half of glorious mid-70's temps, it's going to be 25 tomorrow night.
ty peri
but what a memory you have Diane! and the view is great too

with 2 extra letters in the middle.
no Bichon
Like the 3 Te6
eunuchs
great photos Diane. Will you have them framed together?

Hi Soodle!

Hi Glan, and everybody else :-). (Breathing normally again, thank heavns...)
color returning to face
diane , a more useful word than most in the grid
*lifts latte in toast to soodles*
Well, I closed Babble down and opened it up again and still can't see stidmama's icon
it's okay, glantarell -- I am going to leave it up for a while. It will be there next time!
no, she's all pale now.
Thats strange, Glan. I see a very sinister looking Stid....
i like nooner.... lol
okay, so glantarell -- een dye tree pedwar pump, right?
I see it- very good.
meaning a type of "pizza" of course ! ;-)
awful week for senseless young deaths
the class I was in the last two days last week the teacher counts backwards from 5 to get their attention. They were most intrigued when I used Welsh... LOL
I see it when I go to stid's profile - guess it's cios I use chrome
hmmm ok lol
LOL diane! sounds good to me!
Which is true for any week, really
un dai tri pedwar pump
at least Boston Pizza had one nicknamed that !!! lol
knew the spelling was wrong, but pronunciation wise?
pedwar?
pronunciation is spot on
and diolch, right?
pedwar = 4
four Kap
pedwar is four
diolch yn fawr iawn - thank you very much
i of course was thinking more of an aftern*** delight
arbennig = special
Mae Ivesy ydy arbennig
:-D
she is, indeed, glantarell!!
see my name but dont know what it means lol or do i want to know?
starting to look like enable words.
Also, mae Glantarell ydy arbennig...
starland vocal band 1976..... hahaha... Ivesy... and do you really think I was thinking of pizza.... you know me better than that !!
you might find this useful stid - I use it all the time: http://www.geiriadur.net/
and soodles of course -- hey soodles!!! how do I say "Murphy is special" in Irish? That's my mother's dog's name...
lol@ lady di.. didnt think so !
cool!! okay... so it's now part of my start-up bits for my browser.
I was sailing up the Missippi in 1976, on my honeymoon, listening to Starlight Vocal Band singing Afternoon Delight - very appropriate and the song has fond memories for me (blushing)
Ivesy, Glantarell said that you are a special person. Mae ydy means (that named person) "is" and arbennig means special.
ooooo Glant
well nooner does indeed=afternoon delight
what a sweet memory.... I was already married with 4 kids but....... ;-)
Thaw Murphy er ow-ass. Tá Murphy air fheabhas.
cute song, always liked it.
bendigedig!!! (brilliant)
Ho hum.. back to sex again :-P
ROFL - but now I need to go and do a few things before bed - off to north Wales for a few days this week and need to pack

Bye Glant
Enjoy your break, Glan. Oiche mhaith agat. (Good night).

oy-ka ma'agat? for pronunciation soodles?
Eee-ha Moh aguth.
gah. Irish pronunciation is harder for me to figure out for some reason. thanks.
never thoght I'd be learning Irishand Welsh.
Its truly amazing how hearing a random song on the radio can transport a person back to another place, another time :-)
that and smells
big time soodle....
Oh, Crossy, smells are even more evocative. :-)
yep. of course all the really great music was from my childhood... they haven't written much worth listening to in the last 30 or 40 years.
when i hear robins in the morning i think of my aunt who passed away last spring... she loved to hear them chirp
sent you an email crossy..... hope you got it.

or to msn?
gmail I think..... the one that's listed in your babble profile
ok,will look for it now
YAY! finished!!!
The smell of floor polish transports me back to my mid-teens - to a sort of summer camp, where suddenly my eyes were opened to the fact that there was another species on the planet.. Boys!
that's the only one I would find, as I think I've only ever sent you one email before.
YAY hego!

Aren't they just too cute... I'm going to try some this summer for the grandkids.... a little bit of fussing but they look delicious !!

I think
Hego!! Restrian yourself!! We used to have céilÃs, in a bockety old hall.... and the floor was always polished with a very distinctive smelling polish. What else could I possibly have meant? (Don't answer that....)
whew ty . we have a turtle at the library .. he is 35.. would hate for him to hear that
Must go now. hagd All.
later hego!
ground beef, woven BACON, frankfurters....end up looking just like a little roasted turtle !
ty Soodle for clarifying. ; D
now i want a cheese burger
and Bye

ah, down to 40. Going to see if I have any other pics to post to my blog. Have a lovely what's left of the weekend, all! *poof*
Ivesy, if you are going to the burger joint, could you pick me up a Special, please?
Kap... you still here?
Yea
How are you doing?
Hello Soodle, hego, ivesy
sure soodle.. fries and cokes too..
se 7/28 plz
Kind of wrung out- I was just thinking it will be hard to go back to our program this week
and Kap
Kap, think of the people you can help
We work as a group at a really nice clinic where people become very close, and many people felt the impact of this loss
Yeah, but not if we're fried
hi bichon.
Kaplan, don't forget to take care of yourself!
So do me a favor- so he didn't live or die in vain, the next time you hear "just a drug addict" from the media or your neighbors or wherever- speak out
Took a nap today, does that count?
Hiya ((Bich)).
naps count for more than you'd think
my son is a recovering drug addict .. ty for that kap.. they are someones child
You bet
my son has struggled, mostly with alcohol
No one chooses depression, and staying well is not easy in this world
Kap, I think we all know that 'every just a drug addict' is a child, a partner, a parent, a much loved person. A tragedy. A waste.
You would think we all know that, but there is such a stigma.
its such a waste of a talented life.. my son is such a great kid.and he struggles everyday to stay clean
i sympathize with you bichon, its hell to watch
But, you must take comfort from the fact that you are doing a fantastic job, and many many more could be lost, if it were not for you and the likes of you. On behalf of all you help, Kap, thank you.
My son is married. His wife and I commiserate, for the most part she has to watch a lot of it.
yes ty you kap and all those who try to help.well put soodle
((((Bich)))). Its a tough place to be. Close family members of mine are struggling too. I feel your pain.
i guess this is a heavy subject to weigh in on. i have been trying in vain to keep my son from putting his feet on this path. i haven't done a very good job i guess because i have failed. i feel your pain, but i also know that you can't save some one from themselves
Yeah- - I wish him good luck when he doesn't have good sense, and then the ability to see the community that care for him
onyx. please , dont think you have failed.. it is not our fault.. i went thru that its my fault. almost had a nervous breakdown.. it was relentless. but you have to let go.. let them fall, but be in the background for them
(((Onyx))) From my experience, I don't think that blaming yourself is productive.
not sure if this will work but ruby(nancy) sent me photos of the new puppy!
thank fully my son is in a suboxon program. kap are you familiar with this?
https://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1#i nbox/135f8e53c46c0cd3
The failure is not yours---there is something about the society that is failing- and the freaking drug companies are profiting.
Yes, I work with a lot of folks on suboxone and it's a good thing
thank you soodle, Kap and ivesy, just having a release makes a diiference. and puppy pictures too
It's tough stuff because there aren't simple solutions
yes it is. he is doing great on it.. and puppy pictures always help.. onyx.. there is a group called eons.com. parents of drug addicts unite.. check it out i have joined you will be surprised how good it is and how great the people are
Suboxone? Is that like a drug substitute? Here, there is a drug callled Methadone which is supposed to replace heroin, or am I way off the mark?
suboxone fights the urge for opiates.. patients are drug tested every week, it is closely monitored.
anyone have the first en6? need a clue pls
monkey!!
bitty!!!
Methadone has been around for much longer. Office based opioid treatments block the opiate receptors- don't get people high. Methadone programs are much more restrictive, and it is harder to get off methadone. Suboxone is easier to incorporate into one's medical treatment and doesn't have such pervasive effects on the body
lurkers unite!! :)
lol... do u have a clue for me?
sorry, don't have that one yet monkey!
se 7/28 plz
OK
i'm down to 17
don't have the first 3n 6, but I would like to
en plus slave
still have 107!
up here our current problem is the changes in the manufacture of oxycontin, they rammed it through super fast, now we have lots of people on the northern communities with no assistance network for dealing with the addiction
thank u ivesy
yes, thanks!!
The older methadone patients that I used to work with had been on many drugs for a lot of years and were medically compromised. A lot of young people who have not had drug habits for very long now have the opportunity to get suboxone treatment early, and recover a lot more quickly and go on and do well
yw
tyvm ivesy
yw
The prescription drug companies are growing fat off the lives of these kids.
bichon, look up that group on eons. com.. it incorporates alll addictions
kap, u know of people who are on suboxone for life?
ok ivesy, ty
:)
Well, I don't know if they are on it for life because they are still here. Like the old joke- "have you lived here all your life?" "Not yet!"
lol.. good pt..
Some will stay on it for the long haul.
my son says he would be afraid to get off of it. always afraid he would want to use then
I don't think suboxone has made it this side o the atlantic. Methadone seems to cause as many problems as it fixes.
Yeah, methadone was a tough system.
How is your boy doing now, ivesy?
hello babblers..just getting on...how is the grid today
I think you do have bupinorphine (suboxone) in Europe- it was probably first. And there is more Harm Reduction.
all i can say is thank god for the veterans hospital.he is doing well soodle. ty.. on suboxone clean since xmas and in counseling
It can be an up and down thing, but if he stays connected that will help through the bad patches
Oh, Please God (or whoever) he continues to make progress.
But this kid we lost this week was doing all the right things, mostly- he just wasnt there yet
yes. my thoughts exactly. soodle.
Oh, look, here I've gone and made the chog heavy again. Do I really have to go to work this week?
I need Yetta.
And, Kap, if you don't mind me asking, who counsels the counsellors? What support is there for you?
takes a long time to get there. mine struggles for over 15 years, up and down, uses, sobers, back and forth..
yes quite heavy.. ok im done lol.. love the puppy pictures!
We have support but I think I need to go shopping.
bbl

hmmm isn't that the re8,45?
not a heavy chog, Kaplan.... enlightening to me. I know of ivesy's struggles because she is my friend, but I truly do not know one person who is an addict. My grandkids tell me lots about what's going on in their culture level and it is scary.

can I come for dinner tonight riverdance -- lol
here it is to be home made corned beef, taters and cabbage with deli style honey mustard
hmmm. that sounds good too crossy.
diane - if you have no problem with pre-cooked burgers, you might be able to make them with dough shells (pillsbury biscuits or something like that) - easier, less mess and already in a bun!
well, someome made me a new cd, different types of music. it was blank! blast it! have to take it back and let them try to fix it!!

ok, now I got it.
thanks crossy!
np:)
re7,28 is re + Hellman's Mayon**i**
except it has a double consonant in the middle, lil, which is what confused me before
WELL so does mayo, so there
Mayonnaise is spelled mayonnaise.
I know. I was being too literal about the asterisks.
how the aioli do you know that?
sorry I was off on the asterisks!
Spreading yourself thin again, Ruru?
my goof
Now I have to ketchup with you.
I can't cut the mustard kap
np, lil, it wasn't exactly a big stretch to get to the word, I'm just a little frazzled today
Remember- always use a condiment.

yeah, really Ruru.
*smacks head repeatedly on wall*
*puts up pillows on wall*
You started it though.
no, ru! that defeats the point.
I'm trying to lower myself to the mental level of my clients.
Your clients are...???
if you do headdesk or wall desk correctly,it will burn 96 calories an hour and feels really, really good when you stop;))
I don't think that's possible, jes, given what you've said about some of your clients (who sound like they own animals that are smarter than they are)
i started to say my clients are idiots, but bruce corrected me and says "that's not true. THAT client is an idiot."
remember the clients no matter how idiotic ,pay the bills;)
I mean, what population are our clients? Are you making really tasteless jokes, perhaps?
jes is a vet, kap
mayonnaise has taste kap. lol.
i just got a call from a kid with a chinchilla; said chinchilla has been lying in one place, twitching its tail all day. Cannot hold its head up. Doesn't want to bring it in, doesn't know how old it is, after questioning turns out that they have been feeding the chinchilla hamster food. Explained chins are not hamsters, should be feeding CHINCHILLA food. No other food. Owner says "well, the people we got him from say chinchillas are allergic to apples, and that it's okay to feed him parakeet food." To which my only reply had to be "They are wrong. He is not a bird."
although I suspect she is talking about the owners and not the animals
Vet? Oh- I thought you were saying Veteran and I was going to be shocked.
I realized just in time.
Oh dear, jes :-(
When you're a Vet you're a Vet all the way
Well, can we give him vitamins? No. There is no amount of human-multivitamin you can shove down his throat (and good luck with THAT) that will make bird seed or hamster mix a balanced diet for a chinchilla.
From your first cigarette to your last dying day
What should we do with him? He's really weak and acts like he hit is head." Well, as I said, I can meet you at the clinic and take a look at him, but I can't tell you over the phone what's wrong with him. "ok. well, thanks anyway."
jes,i once had a woman in a bright pink beemer puul up to my station, take a look at the pumps and say to me "boy (boy??) where are your gas pumps that dispense in gallons?" i looked at her michigan plate and said"well girl, you can find one a 3 hour drive south,or we can hop in my time machine and go back to 1977 when we still used such measurements here" i will never forget her.she glared at me and peeled off my lot in her fancy imperial measure eraser lol..
so the chin's probably going to lay there and die because they can't be bothered to 1: look up proper care for the species of pet they have, which is available for FREE at the library or on the internet, and 2: can't be bothered to take it to a veterinarian when it's sick, because that costs money.
and back you go into the PB

hey
Hi there, jm.
Hi there, welki.
My day is completely messed up because the clocks went forward last night - my body clock stayed the same!!
hi peach
that happened here a couple of weeks ago
hi welki
*tap tap tap* is this thing on?
afternoon all
hi button
hi jm
could someone clue the se 7 for me please?
a hot pepper used in mexican cooking
Hot chili peppers in teh blistering sun...
not a jalopeno or pablano but a se7
hey kap
hey, jm
so i need advice as to how to respond to a email i got
shoot.
this woman in my class stayed home after spring break because her husband was so sick with chemo
go on........
i sent her an email expressing sympathy and saying that from my experience with my husband's illness i encouraged her to take care of herself as well
so far so good...
she just wrote back saying ty and that she didn't know about my husband's illness and said i hadn't spoken about it in class so she assumed he recovered
now i don't know what to say because her husband is so ill i don't want to say . . . oh no he died but keep a smile on your face
nbs
awkward but just be graceful...she knows people die---and may also feel ambarrassed that she didn't know
jm, the only hot mexican red pepper I know of is the Scorpian....I can not think of one beginnig with SE
i was thinking about not saying any thing
"unfortunately he passed on"
haha i never heard of that one but the sound flows with the peppers i listed
I can't say what I would feel like if I were in her shoes, but I think the simple reality would be OK...
what do you think?
Clue for the first te8/40?
i don't want her to dwell on the fact of the death
i was writing to bolster her
You're not going into major detail- I'm sure she has enviwsioned the possibility, and is not on a pink cloud. And she does have to take care of herself so knowing you care and are there if she needs anything is good
That's what I think anyway.
But i'm not her. Or she.
chemo sucks.
now, about that te8...
well you are probably right and i am over thinkning it
sorry kap i wish i could help
overthinking isn't bad. it means you care.
empathy is good- bolstering doesn't always work
both te8's are plurals
If you don't respond, she may think SHE said something wrong...
well I am missing the te5/10, 7/26 - in fact I am missing a bunch of te's
true true i will write her that he did die but that it was nearly 20 years ago
I can't see them anymore
that is the best i can do i guess
don't get te5 over it kap
I have that one
there's a forward backwards te5. that words build off of.
that was a very short answer to me kap or te5/10
ty brid
wow it is quiet today
okay i am off for a while
hello everyone - been lurking for a bit -- nbt, nbs
Kap, did you get the first te8-40?
se 6/27, please?
nm - found it
one who se5/16s, nan.
If you work in a restaurant
*!* ta da *!*
sorry, slow!
one who waits on you at the restaurant
whoot!
that was for nan
NM too late
you se*** patrons.
off for a cup of tea, then back to clue
Sorry about the slow clue.
Does anybody have a clue for the se7/28 please?
Ooops, got it. Thanks anyway!
could you clue me, gail?
I'll take a clue for any of the 8 letter words
I have it Gail....I'm not a good cluer but I'll try......se + double cons + she was sad because he married ***ther.
Hello all. How are you doing?
thanks peach.
yw
Pickles - en8/40 - those who go into a place.
re8/45 - really didn't like what someone did.
te8/40 - carpenters who join things securely.
te8/40 (2nd) - rock formations.
te 8 builds from the te 5: number + not off
May I please have a clue for te7-28 the 4th? Thanks
change last vowel in the 3rd te 7/28
gap - it means earthy or worldy but sounds a bit like a container for soup. Hope that helps.
*2nd to last vowel
Hello cybernan.
hi jacula
Thanks nan and Jac.
New twins in the family, cyber? Fantastic news!
yes - 7 days old today
It's my daughter's 25th birthday today. I won't see her until 2nd April when she's due home for a visit from Romania.
interesting icon jac
I got my first niece this year and also a new 2nd cousin born.
Pickles - the icon is a pic my cousin from Canada posted on FB last week. It's a cat in a tree and it says, 'Leave me alone. Today I am an owl.' It just tickled me, so I thought I'd share it.
tickles me too
got all the t's now, kap?
Glad you like it, pickles.
phantom: reverse
Pickles possibly in PB now for posting a sort of word.
doesn't look like any of you need more clues, so I will be off -- see you tomorrow :)
See you again, cybernan.x
i'll go i always get there everyday
Well I hope there's lots of nice stuff in there for you, Pickles. If it was up to me it'd be stale bread annd brackish water. LOL
that's harsh jac
Anyone else need a clue or two whilst Pickles demolishes the treats in the modern da PB?
Pickles - I'm the Queen of the Night (hence the name). *Fiendish cackle!* Ask Renfield.
*daY, not 'da'.
ve6/27?
never mind
got them both, pickles?
btw, where would i find a list today?
Pickles - it's a musical term. ve + consonant + what jelly does eventually.
8 left and i'm going nuts...
GRR - pickles has do4 a Peri again!
got all the v's
kanga - Lickety's list is working again at present.
lol, never thought of looking there!
Company came....will try to finish later. Thanks for all the help.
How soon people are forgotten on the internet. It's only been about a month, if that, since Lickety's list was last working.
y/w gap.
I didn't mean that in a derogatory way, btw. I was just dismayed at how quickly attention spans whizz these days. Lickety family, if you are reading, I hope all is going well for you now.
Any more clues needed before I return to FB to talk to my daughter?
Oh, just 75 more clues needed here! :)
i need 80 clues;)
In other words, enjoy the FB time with your daughter!
ty anyways jacula
fennet
oops
you can see i am fishing now
Not with that word! :)
My daughter's still half asleep after doing a 48-hour shift. I have time to clue for a while.
en6/18?
crossy - if you change the double consonant in the middle of that word you might fe6/27 out a rabbit or a word or two!
Pickles - en6.18 = goes into a place.
ty had the 8 and not the 5
y/w Pickles.
well,i have lost the drive to grind through this one anymore.tc my babble friends and have a good night
poink!
*Sets up bacon and cheese toasted sandwich for Crossy to eat when he awakes.*
Hi
Hi Herin.x
I haz awesome news
What? What?
spill
You know the show X-Factor?
yep
Yerrsss *she says in a cautious fashion*
yes\
My cousin got to the 3rd stage of the show. The stage which may be shown on tv. this is awesome for him as he is a self written muso
cool
that's awesome!
Which version of the show, Herin? UK, Aus, USA?
Aus
This is him: http://tinyurl.com/7xhtgmf original song written for his Grandpa (my uncle)
Will look out for it, Herin, when you give the tiny urls for it.
The tinyurl is the one he did for my Uncle
I'm sure Ash Ball has done stuff before. The name rings a bell.
I have posted this before here as it was so lovely
It is lovely, but can you tell him to enunciate just a little bit more. He reminds me of Clifford T. Ward, an old favourite of mine.x
I think that is an Aussie thing. We don't like to actually enuciate
Herin - well doing so makes the message clearer, so please try. xxx
I does
I does
It does sorry. Funny though i was talking babout this to the other half about this on the weekend. It seems we have lost R's in words
yow do? Down't yow think speaking clearer is betta? I well remember old neighbours of mine yelling at us kids to 'Mind the 'orseroad'! when we ventured beyond our quiet streets.
hi everyone!
Yep. Apparently Mel-bouRne is Melbun
Sorry! No insult intended anywhere. That was just Brummie humour.
Hi Jen
Hi Jen.
hi herin and jac
Not insulted at all. I have English parents so I am always given stick for Daance instead of darnce
Herin - it's not just the Aussies who have lost the 'r' in words. My stepdaughter frequently goes out and tells us 'ceeulayer'.
See we would just say Later or Ron
Herin - your parents must have been from the South, 'cos we in the Midlands and upwards to the North say 'DANce' as in Dan the man's name. Same with bath and grass.
Apparently Grannie Rose was rather posh
This was the same Gran that told my mother under no certain terms that she was to go to Soho or buy property there
Herin I wonder if she was like my ex MIL? She'd answer the telephone and, depending on who was calling, her accent would change accordingly. If it was a catalogue or someone else 'official' she'd go all posh (not very convincing posh). If it was a member of the family from Stratford-Upon-Avon, she'd talk in the accent she learned from birth. If it was a member of the family from her hubby's side - anywhere from Birmingham to Sheffield, she's also adopt the 'correct' voice. 'OOh! 'Ello!' etc.
No Grannie was posh.
Herin - I assume your grannie didn't realise how Soho (London,UK) had changed?
This was in the 60's my mother was telling me she really did wish she had bought there
Good evening Babblers.
Hello wht.
Hi wht
What is even more amusing is the birth sisters all have an Aussie accent on things and I have a more English Aussie but we all sound alike
I am looking for a clue for the do7,32
Herin - to5/10 of voice do seem to be inherited. My friend Manjit's niece sounds just like her.
Jac it does
WHT I am looking for that oo
wht - it's a Scottish word meaning 'astounded' or amazed. Add two consonants to the end of the poet John's surname.
If you're wondering which 2 consonants to add, imagine being knocked out, you are in5.
ty jac. That word certainly astounds me.
wht, y/w.
Thanks that is the d I am working on
Have you got it now, Herin?
Nope just working on it now. Am not really with the brain today
Fireworks
Well done, wht! *~*~*~*~*~*~*
Yah Wht
That and I am trying to eat yogurht
Herin - try an anagram of ' torn end' for the word.
K looking
'On trend'?
I am getting there
Got ti
Well done, herin!
I think it's just you and me here now.
I am not really awake
I'm awake but, if you are not, then time to go?
We just went forward one hour in UK and so I'm still looking for the 'lost' hour.
Erk. I hate that
It is 1239pm just waking up
Are you sitting up using a pc or lying in bed posting froma 'phone? I get confused these days about what people are doing.
Laptop. I don't chat on the iphone unless it is important
Bed or actually up and about?
Up and about
I am on the couch petting the kitty
I almost never use my laptop. In fact, I'm not sure where it is!
The laptop is our desk tops
So many people seem to post from bed in the middle of the night via fancy 'phones now. I'm losing all sense of perspective about where people are and what time of day it is for them.
I don't chat on my iphone but playbabble.
*sighs* The modern world is moving too fast now. LOL
I'm just a humble midnight owl/writer. In the words of waiter Manuel from 'Fawlty Towers', 'I know notheeng!'
giggle
I am such a dill I had to look up how this Liam Hemsworth character is.
Not such a dill if you steer clear of celebrity chat. (I had to google the name, too.) I'm off to bed now, Herin. See you soon.x
Jac he is a Melbourne lad. Night night jac
howdy all

anyone have a clue on the re7/28?
Sorry i haven't found it yet
I have it,, don't know what it is,,
how about the second sa5/10?
don't know which one, gemini, or what it means?
what it means
I don't have the sa 5/10
no iea either sorry
oh well -- thanks :)
giung
Opps laters
second sa5/10 is like plastic wrap
ty
ha ha I just found it too! thanks
re7/28 is an enzyme related to the re6/18 that follows it (has to do with making milk into cheese)
and with that I am off to bed - see you all tomorrow!
thanks Sue!
Is the re4-5 related to re7-28 please.....thanks
no peach
Thanks, viajes.
Sue, I don't know the enzyme clue... will you dumb it down please....thanks
re6 is what's used to separate curds from whey -- it comes from sheep or cow stomachs
well, it's the animal product used to separate curds from whey -- lemon juice works too
so, animal or vegetable re6 will be listed as an ingredient in most cheeses
I should know that, dc.....but am just staring at the grid.....thanks so much.
Peach...re + double consonant + ** the cute little alien in the Speilberg movie
<---Not one who knows her enzymes or what goes into making cheese. : )
any help on the last te7/28?
nm found it -- an alternate spelling of the other perhaps?
fireworks!!!
congrats, viajes
thanks... anyone need clues?
Congrats, viajes!!!!!
re7/28 is re + double consonant + you put flowers in a v***
