I smoked for a very long time (though didn't consider myself a 'heavy' smoker) and just like being overweight, it does have serious side effects as you get older - SO give up when you can. Think of the $s too...it is so expensive here now, I don't know why anyone wants to see so much $ going up in smoke.

perhaps you can find a diet shake that will work for you in the mornings? That is what works for me, I use vianesse and it makes a lot of difference.
yes - you are supposed to graze all day. I never used to have breakfast either. Now I am starving in the morning. Giving up the cigarettes will help with that. A cup of tea and a fag is no substitute for the real thing

sarah, you are so like me. i had my wa4-up call last year, when i had my first angina attack. i thought about my beautiful grandchildren, and thought to myself...i want to be able to dance at their weddings, and rejopice when they achieve whatever goal they set as a life career.
and as for eating in the AM, forget it. i have a large glass of skimmed milk, then set small meals for the re4 of the day, 5 to be exact. that's the answer, small, frequent meals over the day.

I think changing your routines enables you to change all the bad habits. I retired, got a dog that need daily exercise, gave up smoking, took up gym. I do feel much better for it all
if only I could get that darn eating disorder under control. Who knows... working hard to get there :)

Good morning I hope you don't mind me chipping in. Sarah, forty years ago my father was seriously ill in hospital. We all though he was dying and would never leave hospital. It was Christmas and I didn't have a clue what to buy a dying man for a present. So I asked him what he would like. He said for me to stop smoking. I have not had a cigarette since. Which proves to me that if you have a good enough incentive it is easy . . . . and I had tried unsuccessfully to stop many times. I hopoe you succeed.

Well I have mild arthritis in both knees. no tx needed at this time. also went to foot doctor yesterday (fell off a chair about a week ago) have a contusion on outer side of right foot. it is painful when I walk. this doc recommended a soft cast or semi boot, both of which I rejected. I will walk slowly and tolerate the situation.

Well I've travelled mostly for work, Andrew... and after a while it can get very tiring. And you don't always get to see as much of any place you are as you'd like to... very little at times in fact.
Depending on which job I was on at the time.
After a while you want nothing more than your own home and bed.

i have menieres which is fluid build up in inner ear...ringing in ears, then dizzy spells, balance problems because of that, then injections to kill off balance in one ear so other ear would compensate, but have menieres in both , so balance gone naturally in other ear and hearing in both

i use to use a special cruth but nowe i can't even stand up without falling over which is why i have a wheelchair...i fell 10 days ago going up the stairs..i sit going up and then have handles at the top which i hold onto and then throw myself onto a computor chair so i can get around upstairs but i missed one of the handles and have badly bruised my shin,ankle and foot..it now looks like i havent washed for a weeks as it is all black!1 lol

lilliann, I hope you don't mind....I was looking back a little in the chat. I, too, am in a chair......when I lived with my daughter in Conn. I had to have a chair clide installed in order to get from the main floor to the basement and garage....I rented it for $95.00 a month and believe me it was worth every penny. Perhaps that might be helpful getting you up and down the stairs. I had a chair at the top and bottom of the lift.
