Ruby has developed a heart condition which I suspected but the vet heard her labored breathing, oscultated [sp?] her and immediately put her on two meds. Today's the 4th day and she seems much better
she's 9 1/2 and we've never had a chow make it to 10!

they tend to ignore other dogs. Rufus, our old male who lived to be almost ten, was a gentle soul but wouldn't put up with any sh** from other dogs. A shepherd, much bigger than he, off the leash, once attacked him and he had it down with his mouth around its neck in about 5 seconds, looking to husband to see if he should finish the job. After that, the shepherd would slink past our house on his belly

the thing with chows , though, and I think it's what puts people off, is that they are very selective with their affection. And if you ever cross one, it will never come near you again -- ever.

macs are pretty things,my only complaint is when something goes wrong when everything is built into the screen.for example when a fan goes in my computer tower,i remove the side,unplug the fan,throw it over my left shoulder,toss in a new fan and replace the cover..time 2 minutes..cost 8 dollars.with a mac,the entire thing has to be shipped off

I just got back from a week of hiking in NH.,it's gorgeous there. I have been to Hotsprings and loved it.

hot spring nc..i know hot springs is 1 hour from ashville
scrabs..was hillarious...we came back to hotsprings ( temps were 106 the day before + humidity) so we stank after just one day ( we went up over 1600 ft in under a mile of trail that day too) and we were waiting for the shuttle to go back to erwin...so we went to the diner... grab lunch
looks like it is 3 hours from here. it is actually an hour and a half from where I grew up, but I was not familiar with it.
we stink... we are with all our gear... and most hikers roll in and want the huge burger..fries, gravy pie etc...

Almost everybody in Rotterdam will speak English - and Dutch is relatively easy to learn as it is a sister language to English

We spent the day with some of our "campers" a couple of weeks ago, and enjoyed some of my dad's piano while sitting around the campfire !

Our land line phones are cordless, so they do go out when the power goes out. But I have an old, rotary phone that I plug in then.

me too molly- i have a land line with 2 extensions.. and two cells.. that i use only for emergencies.. ( One has big numbers for hubby) i always clip one on my self when i leave the house so that i can call for help if i need it/// when the grandkids are over . they have to leave the room if they want to stay pluggted in andf no phones are allowed at table... if they miss a meal... oh well.. there are no second chances
