Etiquette question - dark suit to a wedding that starts at 4:30 in the afternoon, and continues with dinner and dancing? or a light tan suit?

ah yes, jilli
oh thanks, pav, but such respect is undeserved.

hello everyone. I am just coming in when others have finished. wow

Hi Bugs, just started meself...

Hi ruru
hi ru
I imagine ruru is more of a wooly large creature as opposed to the eensy weensy
hi ladies
hey ruru, it may be eensy weensy, but this baby has nasty te5.
hi granny
aw, c'mon, enable made up that wi5, right? :P
hi jilli. good news is different pain meds are working. no oxycodone since 9pm last night.
that's great, granny -- nice up!
thanx dear friend. you just made my day.;)
YAY granny. that stuff can be hard to shake
hi rose, good news indeed
rbud, I googled that wi5 and the Urban Dictonary says: Adjective, origin unknown. Flaky, space-cadet, but in a *nice* way. Not generally used outside the Philadelphia PA region.
thanx bugs. i remembered that the chemists over here produce an analgesia called 'chemists own'. it contains more codeine than panadeine, and much less than panadeine forte. a nice in-betweeny.
thanx flosey. every step forward is being won after a fierce battle here.
fireworks, last word he4/6 (second one)
WTG FLOSEY!!!!
well done
thanks rose, Bugsy
ty, jilli, for the wi5 info - what a silly word.
goodnight all - an early to bed night
and yay, flosey!
and g'nite, also
you know, flosey, every night when you say goodnight, i picture my grandma, in her solid-soled slippers and fluffy dressing-gown.
it's a good picture, and a memory which i cherish. thank-you for bringing her back for me.
nice memory. Nite flosey
* grin * she always smelled of Yardley's roses, roses.
Gnight flosey. I have to go soon too -- catching a morning ferry to fo to see Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat matinee tomorrow in Chemainus.
and my other grandma smelled of Yardley's violets. anyone else here have those scents locked into their memory banks?
my mom and jergen's lotion, that's one
that almondy smell
jilli, do so hope you enjoy the show.
I still like it! :)
my mom and manhattans
my Granny was Yardley roses too
and my mum and 'tweed'
my granny was woodsmoke, lol
halfway now
lol, rbud.
manhattans, ruru. don't think i have ever smelled that.
poor ruru
wow you weren't kidding about this grid granny
Hello everyone
wd bugs!
my dad and his old spice
I waqrned you too, ruru
Hiya Lynxxx!
my ex and Brut 33, yuck! Okay, enough of that, lol! ;p
Hello PAV, you must have heard me thinking about you the other day. Everything well with you?
my favourite is elizabeth arden's green tea.
and rbud, i'm with you, hun. my ex also.
hey lyn
hi Rose
However the Old Spice man is pretty gorgeous
sitting inside heater, how about you?
I like Shiseido Zen but seldom use perfume -- so many are allergic to scents now.
It is chilly isn't it...been putting on the heat on and off all day. Just got the gas bill so a reminder to not switch it on so freely!
dad used that Aqua Velva stuff, too, aftershave. very distinct, whew!
Obsession, LouLou and occasionally Opium for me
brut.. bleeech
Opium & Obsession - the mens versions are pretty yummy too
so many guys I knew in high school used to put so much stuff on you could smell them a mile away, guess they thought it was cool
the only odor I distinctly remember is the smell of bromine from a factory miles from my home that one day had a leak. Now I don't do swimming pools...the chlorine is too close...
worse than the girls!
and Kourous for men - delish
my uncle .. rbud used aqua velveeta .. he was always a little cheesy
ho ho ru
rofl!!! ru, you nut
I love a man who regularly wears a scent - I remember them distinctly
I had to stop wearing cologne due to allergies...I've just reently started wearing Burberry Touch...
jilli, i have to be very wary of which perfume i use. if you were waking up from an anaesthetic and were nauseated, you certainly wouldn't want your nurse to be wearing a strong perfume.
lol, pav
I should look at the one I like
oh, ruru. *smiles and gentle shove*
there's a perfume genius in saint Helena.. she's gifted
stats on the e in the top row?
ec7/48
I think I told you all about my tonsillectomy at age 9? Had had 5 mastoid ops at age 5 and loathed the gasping smell of ether, so the docs lied and said they would use 4711, a cologne my dad used. Of course it was ether after all, and I then couldn't stand the smell of 4711.
what mean doctors!
oh that doesn't sound good jilli
ec7, ruru
i was afraid of that
I remember 4711 too
I am doing well Lynxxx...I was promoted last fall to CFO - the title finally reflected what I was doing since 2009, This month another promo to Assist Dir, ADmin AND CFO, Now I get paid a bit more and still no one to help...yesterday was in a meeting to discuss today's meeting...why?
is it a common word?
ec7, ec + old-fashioned you + short word for mother
thanks granny
lol, lyn, i still have some towelettes of the stuff.
and remove a c and an h for an et5
yay, bugs, well done

lol, mother mac has Don and i running in circles. *checking shoe* she just had a phone call re, she said, about her hearing aid.....it wasn't...it was about a government-issued voucher for a discount hearing aid. waahhhh! i want out!
night bugs
okay, night, bugs. sleep well, hun
mother mac is Don's mom?
yup, ruru. she lives with us
Just over halfway and must go force myself to do some cleaning up ... BBL perhaps

man..i'm stuck at 15 to go
mine are all 4's and 5's, there might be hope
30 left here with the two center col E's still open
10 now.. sans list
but really stuck
that top E is ec7, ec + parsely sage rosemary and ****e, with a change of vowel on the end
dart and dee must have finished in minutes
the other E is et5 x 2, one of which is an old name for a type of gasoline
sounds like a child's play on exzema
thanks rbud! now NBT!
the other et5 is the same as the ec7, just pull out the 2nd and 4th letters
yw, PAV, congrats

night, jilli. sleep well, my friend
nice.. thanks granny.. i'll check it out shortly
night jilli
AND DON'T CALL ME SHORTLY!!!!!
ooopsie
are you vertically challenged granny?
very, ruru.
oh.. well please note I said shortly.. not shorty
up-side to being short? you can't see if the top of the refrigerator needs cleaning.
duly noted. lol
plus it's easier to pick things off the floor when you drop them
nope....the floor keeps getting further away from you each year.
I just found a la 7.. sounds kind of sexy
trust you, ruru. a female thinks of baby clothing
is that what it means..
no
I think I'm missing a wi 5
heehee, just got a text from Hubs, he's off at his annual antique motorcycle swap meet - left today, back Sat or Sun. He took a recliner instead of a mattress to sleep on, says it's working great so far.
yup.....want me to clue?
think I'd better granny go ahead
wi5, first three letters of female spouse + Thank-You
thanks
what an odd word
interesting, rbud....just where did he carry the recliner?
np's, ruru
oh, they took two trucks and a big flatbed trailer, had several bikes for sale that he wanted to take. also took his big heavy motorized chair.
it's a big event, covers the whole Mississippi River Fairgrounds in Davenport, Iowa, goes on for days, camping and eating on the grounds - it's like biker summer camp, lol. But older folks, not the crazy biker types.
that sounds more than a little odd rbud
which part, ru? the motorized chair or the recliner?
and just who are you calling crazy biker types??? my other name is Don's biker moll!!!
heehee, I wouldn't let him go if there were going to be wet t-shirt contests and such, none of that at this.
not like Sturgis or Daytona Beach, all antique bikes and parts and antique bikers, too, lol!
and neither would i, dear. Don is now under a very strict/strong hand when it comes to biker 'games'.
I get bored there, no booths with jewelry and t-shirts, all old bike parts, manuals, memorabilia, etc.
but he loves it. has friends he only sees there each year, a nutty bunch of fellows. they have a blast.
*pictures granny in leather chaps*
responded to your email granny
takes him longer to recover each year, though, sigh...
nice picture, but i have full leathers.....which fit well now that i have lost all the excess weight.
yay, g'rose!! no wonder we get along so well! :D

hiya ivesy! Just passed the halfway point, I guess the ugliness will start soon for me :)
hi sprite... seems the smaller ones are worse.lol
that is very often true :)
3/4 done... going very slow now
good morning/afternoon everyone
hi Annie :)
hello sprite, am I behind the times, did someone in your family have surgery?
yes, my husband. He is recovering very well. Just had a shower, took of the bandage. Wound is clean and ca4. Thanks for caring :)
I am so happy to read that..speedy speedy recovery to him
I am certain all the good vibes from Babble are helping him. He has hardly any pain! It is wonderful.
Good!
and how are you and yours, Annie?
We are all fine, thanks.
Am glad!
this grid is a lulu.
I don't know what a lulu is, but if that is an ugly word, I agree. Last part is nasty!
LOL. How do I explain it. It is not an ugly word. It denotes something beyond comphrension.
lol ok :-)
monkeys to the rescue....
right now my monkeys are sleeping
<---Knows what a lulu is and yes Annie, first part, middle and last. Definite lulu. : D
hi Molly
Hello Molly, I havent said "lulu" in ages but this grid is the perfect fit
*sends Annie some banana alarm clocks*
thanks sprite....monkeys are waking up...maybe I will get somewhere now.
I am monkeying Th words now. I am pretty sure there must be lots of those today.
that's where I am too
:D
fireflies! My last 2 words were 7s. Tough little grid.
anythying I can help with before I go?
YAY for sprite !!!!
thanks sprite, but, actually I am having fun with this one
a challenge is nice, isn't it :) I had fun too. Thanks for the company and have a grand day.
Surely a good way to wake up one's brain, Annie. : D
You too and especially your hubby.
Yes, Molly, I totally agree. Babble and a good cup of coffee.
As they would say on Sesame Street, today's grid is brought to you by the letter Y. : D
Could I get a clue for wi5, please?
sorry, Marc, I dont have that one
rhymes with a major birthday ending in 0
I found it...wi5----think of the ten numbers after 40 but subsitute the w for the first letter
Hi all. Marc, I looked for you and made up a stupid word by doing the points. It worked! Now how to clue it?
Annie that was brilliant

hi welki - how you feeling this morning
itching to go home - i have my repertoire all ready. will be performing, "All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go" and "Please release me, let me go"
to be a fly on the wall....
glad you are feeling better and ready to run
a nurse came into my room as i was falling asleep last night and said i had to move, they needed my room - so i packed up and waited. and waited. i finally went into the hall and she told me to go back in, that i didn't have to move. so i had to unpack. frustrating - so didn't sleep at all
hi welki
ohhhh, that's a good one too - dixie chicks, 'ready to run' -
hi welki!
hi carlee and dawg (and thanks, river, for asking)
whatcha doin in hospital, welki?
i have met diverticulitis.
ugh, poor welki.
and done.... fun wee grid
surgery?
oh, not poor welki - i'm a whole lot better than i was
whooo hooooo carlee!!
oh dear...showing pics from braithwait
no, i was very lucky - could have gone either way, since there was an abscess that ruptured - but those iv antibiotics are wonderous
braithwaite
THEE
(apologies to the squeamish)
holy cow welki you sound like you have what i had
glad to hear you are on the mend. just gotta watch what you eat now.
i had an abcess adjacent to my appendix... caused appendicitus...appendix ruptured..lost 2 feet of bowel...in hospital for 10 days with a bowel resection ( about 12 years ago now)
we are intestinal sisters :)
( and is b/c of this..i no longer can handle pork..cant digest it..causes HUGE pain )
our bowels have bonded :p
omg..i had the WORST yeast infection following that...cus of the antibiotics they had to pound into me...went up to my bra..and down to my knees
skin peeled...was horrid
*hides bbq ribs*
hi all
wow - thanks for the heads up. will make sure i pick up cranberry juice capsules!
keep ur ribs..no issue..the pain far outweighs any possible craving
hey jmc - how've you been, haven't 'seen' you for a long time
if you havent got it yet...you likely wont
tadone!! finito!
I would have shared but don't want to hurt people
whoo hooo lbd!
hi jmc
*~*~*POMPOM TOSS*~*~*for dawg
wtg dawg!
i have been around but my timing is off. . .
everything good?
hi jmc
well still underemployed but my fence is done so no more construction guys waking me up
TO came to my bbq and got to see it all
men in toolbelts ;)
wow....some of the pics of flooding in louisiana :( from too much rain
no--main one was a guatemalan named pastor (emphasis on the second syllable) who could pick up things that weighed at least twice what he did
any pictures to share, jmc?
not of the fence yet . . . the boy was suppose to email them to me. . .
spooky that yesterday was hurricane katrina's 'anniversary' of landfall on louisiana
i think that the anniversary got people disproportionally worried about this hurricane
they were suitably worried ( not new orleans )
this grid is a bitch
when you add media hype to the folks who are still suffering from katrina's wrath, you end up with a volatile mix
loads of flooding in the parrishes...up to rooflines again...the federal levies worked,,,most of the parrish levies failed
and they saw more rain in this system than they did in katrina... ..the storm surge was worse cus it sat there....didnt move out
http://livewire.wdsu.com/Event/Live_Wi re_Tracking_Isaac
when i was young, i used to love hurricanes - and i've always wanted to move back to the east coast. not so much anymore
you can watch the photos coming in now...
okay - i'd still move back in a heartbeat.
well most of these people live ON the swamp... if rains 1/2 an inch they have mushy yards
i enjoyed hurricanes too. . . but people have been being foolish in building. . . and foolish in pumping. . . flooding is much worse in many low lying areas than it was 50 years ago
well...urban sprawl requires it..there is only so much "high ground" along the populated areas...we even have a whole neighbourhood here built on what was a marsh
they have concreted up the aquifer so the land has sunk. . .they have built on the ground rather than pylons and they have built in areas where they are ever more susceptible . . .
and there is soooo much concrete... no "earth" to soak up the water...runs off
people have built in swamps on the gulf coast for centuries but had the good sense until about mid 20th century to build on pylons. . . i spent many a hot day sitting in the cool under the house
<---- is excited for her doughnut ..dough to finish rising so she can make doughnuts ( honey glazed)
i saw the pic in FB car they look wonderful
<bouncing>
okay must hit the road for class. . . be back tonight if i don't manage to play during class. . . bye all
i had to tweak recipe..it calls for milk..i was out of milk... i added a extra egg... dough tastes yummy...
(i will nag the boy about the pics!)

Peaches & Herb

The clue worked for me, but that is because we share a brain!

so i am in midst of stripping some horrid 1980's border... looks so weird right now cus the border makes the ceiling look so heavy... and right now I have an optical illusion of an undulating ceiling
I was like that with my Kerri before she passed. She had congestive heart failure. It was hard to watch
she's old for a chow, more than 9 1/2 but now she may last a while
In 2003, Dennis Gross set the unofficial record for Most Peeps Eaten in 30 Minutes. He polished off 102 Peeps.
*barf*
thats gross
Ruby was panting and wouldn't go for walks but now she runs up the stairs, snarls at her "brother", and is eating well again
ewwwwwww
i am glad ruby is feeling better
good girl ruby
are those those icky yellow marshmallow things?
good for ruby
yes
yes they are ruby..i have never eaten one
its pure sugar
Yes, Ruby. Only now they come in all kinds of neon colors.
and shapes
not just chickies anymore
well..most candy IS pure sugar :)
All candy is not created equal.
tried a new Haagen Dazs flavor yesterday, thinking it would be my favorite: caramel with sea salt butter (or something). It's tasty but too sweet and it gets stuck in your teeth :(
but sickening sweet
lol judi
ice cream stuck in your teeth - that is not right
I went on an Amazon website under American foods and almost everything was junk food and candy
for candy..i still like dip'n'stix and sweet tarts ( smarties to the yanks in the room)
and jelly tots
so I ordered Cheetos and matyonaise and red hots
a real sweet tart will make you pucker
<-- loves salty junk food
And where would humanity be without chocolate? No doubt a post-zombie apocolypse wasteland.
i love sweet tarts :)
crossy also prefers salty snaxs
if i crave salt...i usually crave salad
but likes smartfood, original doritos, and plain chips with onion dip
brb
mm..nothing like lettuce to kill that salt craving eh? lol
My husband recently brought home some cheesy popcorn. Damn him.
Even the cat likes it.
and croutons and cheese, and smoked turkey or baby shrimp...with parmasean cheese with all the veggies and lettuce and a nice salty oil and vinegar dressing
<---- screw the home made doughnuts....now i want a big salad <sigh>
ahh, just drink the dressing then and you have your salt craving fixed:))
Judi, you let the cat have your cheese popcorn? Now THAT is love.
but i like the crunch :p
<...... does not eat much salad
my animals get anything we eat that is healthy food...no junk food for my beasts...but turkey and veggies.. ( every time I peel potatoes..the first potato gets cut up for the hounds...)
we know...u get your veggies from bacon
Hello...again....Geez! Babblus Interruptus this morning!
that is just wrong car.... WRONG
I know, I know....
Stats please for the Y in the center?
that right carlee.piggies are the best veggie conversion kits around:)
yi 5, 16 i think
rhymes with fi5/18
Ty Dahling!
carlee loves her veggies....nom nom nom
morning, all :-)
Hi Une!
hi une
there we go:) had the red boxes of doom for a bit there
also had red boxes
47 words and now all i see are floating, random e's and t's! LOL
back
wb:)
this is very hard!
good morning all - hello ruby
yi5! indeed
hello teach
Our one cat goes absolutely ape sh*t for the cheesey popcorn. Begs and begs for it.
one of our kitties adores eggs
we had a huge storm last night, lightning for hours and it knocked down all my God-planted sunflowers
We lost Babble there for a minute. Strange.
dr-g must of spilled another g&t on the server tower
aaww, sorry about the sunflowers, ruby
I've started giving the pups yoghurt and vet says it's OK
it is very good for their digestion ruby
my dogs LOVE yogurt!
they were taller than I! and we were hoping to keep them for the birds
rats . . . well,l in any case, you know you'll have more next year, eh?
*well,
can you save the seeds ruby?
I'll try, but I don't think they're ripe enough
husband buys about 10 lbs of sunflower seeds/week
my cardinals LOVE 'em :-)
one of the stems had 11 flowers (small ones)
Fireworks!
no cardinals in france, totally different birds
amazing judi!
congrats judi
yaaa for judi!!
Now it's time to do some work. (Booo!). See you kids tomorrow! *POOF*
congrats, judi!
ruby, that's like when I went to California years ago -- totally different birds!
it's very interesting learning the new birds; I keep a Fr bird book by the window in front of which is the feeder
have seen about 25 new kinds
i don't put out hummingbird feeders but this year I've had some surprise hummer visits on some of my flowers -- so exciting :-)
and I keep "rescuing" green finches, either in the house or after they crash into the window or from the puppy's mouth
sounds very cool, ruby
haven't seen a hummer since I left NY state
amazing how quickly a pup can snatch a bird out of the air
Rufie has a special bark when he finds a living thing, seems to be calling me
Psst...Ruby is talking about stems and seeds.
I've seen a couple of hummingbirds outside my window here in NC this summer.
no, he thinks the injured ones are toys
LOL!!
wasn't that yesterday molly? bad me
was talking to my neighbor while waiting for the school bus this a.m. and we heard something I thought was a squirrel or bird. All of a sudden a cat runs across the street with a bird in its mouth, wings flapping.
carla, when my daughter was in school in Boone, I was amazed by the number of hummingbirds!
too late for the bird, I guess but at least it didn't get hit by the bus
ruby.you would love it here we have a town that has a fresh water beach 7 km long and it is divided into 7 sections, one a nudie college, university hard body type beach, one a beach for off leash dogs, some for families etc.well about 3 years ago were had some very rare(50 breeding pairs world wide) piping plovers decide that beach #1(one of the nudie beaches) would be a perfect place to set up a pair of nests and raise a family..hehe..that beach has now been closed for over 3 years to all people and dog traffice so these birds car have thier family in total peace
saw lots in Colorado as well
how cool, crossy!
that's a nice story, crossy
We have found a couple of dead ones that probably hit our big window. They're so tiny. :-(
there are even volunteers who stand watch
sometimes they fly or walk into the house
that's funny. beach takeover!
(hoping for a return of the nakes?)
My extremely harassing robin finally went away or hopefully it died and won't come back next year.
what did he do?
indeed hokie it is still closed to all but ministry of natural resources people and the vlunteers, who have a watch station 1/2 km away
what evil did a poor robin do?
attacked our windows for weeks and weeks, usually starting at 6am-ish. I am told he was fighting his reflection, what a bird-brain.
that's funny
in that case hokie, what you do is place window stickers in strategic places on the windows.then it will stop
or wear a cat mask and hisssss
now all the windows are covered in crap from his beak.
trust me,add a window sticker or 2,or hang a dream catcher in front of window if a kitchen window
I ended up putting colored poster board on the windows I could reach, but I couldn't get to them on the outside, so there was still a slight reflection at times.
it was literally making me insane. I am a very heavy sleeper, too, and it was waking me up. I started throwing socks and stuff at the windows in our 2-story foyer which would scare it away temporarily.
half, yay
keep going!
degu is totally a word, babble
Good grief, couldn't see my last word, which was a common word and should have been easy. Anyhoo, fireworks!! Gotta hit the shower. Have a good day (or night), y'all!
It does not matter if it is a word ....the only thing that matters is whether ENABLE will accept it on that day (It may not on a different day).
bye carla, watch out for those robins!
it is a little frustrating :)
hello BR
Hello, Ruby
Good morning starshines!
the earth says hello
you twinkle above us
we twinkle beloooooooooow
now we all take off our clothes and go up on stage
Boo!

I saw Hair in Paris, years ago, and the audience was simply puzzled
hey ruby...sitting w/dh in chemo room
that's funny ruby!
ohh, I know what that's like....how many treatments does he have?
actually there's almost nothing written into the script about nudity.
MPitt! Good to see you : )
he bought me an asus tablet so learning to use it red his favorite color
but it certainly added something....

Cos, deaf community...in your about us section it is not consistently spelled one way. Both words capital, only Deaf?
i didnt write that :) ill check in a sec. i did the layout and stuff.. i can edit though thanks! ur abolutely right. its Deaf, not deaf.
I made a donation. : )
done. oooh tyvm!
truly appreciate that! cause the more money we get -- then the sooner i get a paying job with them :)
Once the spiders and bots start finding your site, you should get some good SEQ placement.
yes. i have someone working on getting that ready actually
You can also ask other people who run web sites for the deaf to link to your site. Schmooze, schmooze, schmooze. : )
thats the plan :) thats why we have a box that says "our supporters"
Best of luck. It looks like you're off to a great start.
many thanks :)

Factually inaccurate.

wh 7 - pt of wh 4
it was effective though.

Recall that DEMS referred to Obama as "the annointed one" after the 2008 convention. Later as "the one."
Then the disappointment set in (from progressives).
perhaps he's a lattrer day saint.....PB for me
I know we're not supposed to mention that stuff
I keep trying rhythm but it never works!
Well, it's not exactly just the progressives who are disappointed.

i am saving the pennies thrown to buy out dr g and when i have it in my grubby hands i will update the dictionary in this thing and toss enable to the curb

off to my book -- tough game of golf this am and am ready to relax :)
golf is a good walk spoiled lol
i tried it one year, used to play it no matter where it landed, even climbed a tree once.one year there was a flooded hole, just chipped it in from edge of green and let it sink into the hole
used to go out with a brand new 3 pack of titelist balls and finish 18 with about 100 recovered balls, cause i would play it from places where pro would just take the penalty
tried to do a happy gilmore once and play 9 holes with nothing but a 7 iron
tried golf once..didnt like it...squished the girls too much in an unnatural way
lol
now what if we welded a lawnmower handle onto a golf club shaft.your arms could be a foor or so apart and not squish the ta-tas
foot
yajusneverno what ur gonna walk into when u enter the chog

Same to you Stidmama
night, rumple! Glad to see you have your identity back!
Dr. G. fixed it. Woo Hoo
yay!
Yay!
is anyone watching/listening to the republican convention?
no mab
not me, mab
steyt
I've had enough mendacity for this week ..
did that one work, mab?
not silly enough for this grid, mab!
it preempts my jazz show so I've been listening. Until this evening it's been revolting.
tonight two people told from the podium about how Romney helped them when their children were dying.
and why should tonight be different from any other night?
well. down to 10. I think I will list now...
tears are rolling down my face. damn it.
sounds like it is still revolting
it doesn't change my view of Romney as a candidate, but his helped a little boy write his will.
hi dorens!
now his business partners are speaking so I can go back to being revolted.
so I have uploaded photos of babblers to my flickr account; you can see them if you click on my profile
yaa for rumples!! i see dr_g fixed you back up
hi sue, and all others. i am in baltimore at my son's new house. lovely (but the ac is broken - being fixed tomorrow)
I guess if everyone is revolted by the Republican nominee, we will just have The Magic President for 4 more years.
nice, dorens! but boo on the AC.
btw, dorens, I called my dad yesterday, but he didn't want to talk too long as he had a lady visitor :-)
unfortunately, NOT everyone is revolted. aren't there gobs of folks cheering every other word?
he's going back to writing poetry, and she's a poet.
Hello all..popping in...
nice pics sue
hi Jilly!
howdy jilly
a lady visitor? how lovely
hey jilly
hi jilly
I thought it was very sweet (and did not ask for any details)
so glad he is writing again sue
oh brother, all his superhuman abilities are being highlighted. he single-handedly found a partners missing daughter.
<---Wishes we had a third candidate. The two we are being offered are so unappealing.
yes - I wish he would get back to woodworking; he quit when my brother died - but writing is good too
Going to flip between my college's football game and Romney when he comes on out here...keep my blood pressure down...
I think lots of people feel that way mols. I'm still with Obama, the many things he's done or not done notwithstanding.
anyway I am off for the might - see you all tomorrow!
tc suze
sweet dreams sue
*night
night sue
thanks sue for the photos
i'm not with Obama any longer unfortunately
so who?
I am down to two. Have to go. Might be gone until December... *poof*
crossy finds the u.s prez race interesting to say the least
no better choices around yet, are there?
I just don't feel like I can vote for him.. and certainly not those nutcases in the republican party
stid? december? what's going on?
december?
whoa
obama has disappointed me from time to time, but i believe him to be a good man and leader.
Good evening kiddos!
Wow, that was dramatic.
hey scrabbs.
howdy scwabby!
stid, come back! is it a teaching job?
Hi Scrabs!
i think the december thing is meaning that she wants nothing to do what talking about politics in the chog
Hello ruru and mab!
with
hi jilli .. hi scrabs
I agree. Too polarizing.
hi jill and scrabbler and everybody. I can't help myself on the pol thing.
Okay everyone. Back to fluffy kitties and perky puppies.
I am so hating election season. I have one doctor that I work with that I am about to request no discussion of politics...so irritating...
that is a little over-reacting wouldn't you say?
when i used to bartend, our rule was to never talk politics or religion.that is still sound advice as they seem to be the 2 topics that get people het up real fast
Hi there, Scrabbler. Have missed seeing you. Hope all is going your way.
besides, it was just the heartbreaking stories about the children that got me started.
So agree Crossy!
Hi ga
so..lets talk..mm..how about bacon??
It's okay mab, to much fluff and the wrong things taking fore front...
No, it's a lot over-reacting. It's easy to turn chat off if you don't like what is being discussed.
hold the bacon for me please.
Or smile and stay silent while people discuss politics. Or religion.
MMMM bacon....tomorrow night it's going to be BLT's here...LOVE tomatoe season...so yummy!!
it's just too devisive, bacon.
well said scrabbs
well, obviously we don't all agree with each other.. can't expect that.
nope,we are one big melting pot
I have been having my best tomato season EVER. 14 plants, 8 different varieties.
wonder if she sticks her head in the sand when she's at school?
like we are still stunned they many of you fight a healthcare for all and the old"why should i pay for him with my taxes?" attitude but vive la differance
scrabs, i brought my boat to the vineyard and had the BEST time ever
i do love tomatoes, but am allergic to them. i don't eat anything that grows from the ground except certain legumes.
The health care issue in the US is a lot more complicated than that.
yes! tomatoes..let talk tomatoes
Great, Doren!
That's why I'm angry with the Democrats here...they should never have placated the Republicans..just pushed the single payor system right through...screw em!
it sure is molly they got it wound up in such a snarl
this has been a great season for jersey tomatoes. between them and peaches, i'm in heaven
oh.. vegetables.. I'll be back in January
Allergic to tomatoes--NO!!!
lol, ru
No, Ruru, come back. We'll talk about wine.
lol ru,we did not mean to offend you with tomatoes
That's it. I'm voting for Jilly in November. : )
and dairy and mushrooms, all things green, etc.
yes..booze and sex..you can talk about those two topics all you like
and CHEESE
we can talk about cheese
i don't eat meat either.
Two of my favorite topics!!
mab---so sad!
think of all the folks who've been bored with our wine talk over the yeras
So WHAT are you able to safely eat, mab?
it is due to an autoimmune illness.
i don't talk about wine any more either
too hard to do from the gutter
Dylan! Let's talk about Dylan!
can we talk about whiskey?
WINE??? That's it, I'll be back in March. : P
see ya molls!
let's never use the word 'about' any more. it offends me.
When did it all start, mab?
i am here in ballmore right now, we can talk about that
How is the new house and neighborhood, Doren?
Mab!! : D
Crohn's Disease. since childhood.
how about "aboot"?
oooh that's a tough one mab
oh, that's okay crossy.
Oooh, that is a nasty disease, mab.
aboot is good
we have a friend with Crohn's it's horrible
my b-i-l has crones..it is nasty he has had more operations..
so beautiful// hard to desscribe. kind of like an arts and crafts house. and jeremy says i have to bring the boat down here cause there are nice places.
i think i may die. it's progressing upward into the stomach.
Oh yeah Dorens. There are great places you could go kayaking.
I see kids deal with Crohn disease--very challenging.
oh yah, crohn's . had a good friend with it years ago and it is tough
love arts and crafts architecture.
i throw up a lot
mab, I am worried about you.
So sorry Mab...as an endoscopy nurse I know how severe an illness that is....
i don't think about it. not much to be done.
Oh mab....I love Arts and Craft period too!!
I started watching this medical show on NBC, and it is truly AWFUL, but I want to see if this one patient will live.
My daughter-in-law has Crohn's. I think it may be the undoing of me becoming a grandma. : (
it is just wrong for children to get sick.
Lord my internet is running like peanut butter tonight...grrrrrrr
"Saving Hope"---another unrealistic TV medical show.
<---new rule.. give Mab a ton of slack from here on out
no1
poor, poor mab....
!
is it sort of SKippy Jilly?
no slack. I'll be fine.
i find of late scrabbs that i am better served in life by very little television
if i watch anything it is a movie on dvd
I really don't watch much TV.. I'm usually trying to finish a grid..lol
I agree, Crossy. Not much worth watching.
i don't have a tv. poooor mab.
we had more to watch when there were 3 channels coming in over the tv antenna
you are not missing much mab
No big lack, mab
Woe is Mab! Sniff
good music, and good books and the odd movie at the theatre will see you through just fine
in d.c. i could get pbs without cable. i love pbs.
I agree. Good stuff on PBS.
almost always something good on pbs.
<---Wonders if someone is going to get huffy about PBS. : O
someone will about PMS.. not sure about PBS
Looks like it's just Facebook...too many on I suppose...will quit cussing the internet
just take a midol, ru. you'll feel much better in a jiffy.
*taping mouth shut to avoid a very good politically laced comment*
oh, just bust out with it, jill.
sure.. stid is gone until December now
Gonna be good...just LOL....
I passed halfway so I am done. Off to bed soon. My brain is fried from too much work.
Niters scrabs...*passes cold compress for scrabs head*
I don't know how doctors do anything but work and sleep.
doctoring seems so very exhausting.
It is exhausting + stressful and sometimes fun and rewarding.
do canadians ever chant ca-na-da, ca-na-da, etc.
rest well, dr scrab.
*Hangs some NO DRAMA ZONE signs here and there. Reupholsters The Sensitive Room with tiny satin pillows and blindfolds, to avoid reading chat*
*hangs picture of monkey with hands over his mouth*
went to stay with sister for nephew's wedding, then went to stay with other sister. Only drama was the bride was a half hour late.
oh, weddings are so much fun.
*Hangs another picture of monkey with fingers taped to avoid typing*
my sister and her ex were both there. We felt a bit odd. since they aren't speaking.
ahhh molly, I could use a padded room!!
After I got there I was asked to play the piano for the wedding, some song I'm not familiar with.
Jilly, we have introduced The Sensitive Room, for all the delicates who can't handle certain chat topics.
and the piano was badly out of tune.
Geez, that happened to me once..so stressful...
wow, short notice, mixi
Darn molly...I won't be visiting...I am not the offendable kind...just the argumentative!
But now that you mention it, a Padded Room would work too. Oh yeah.
Ya mixi, I was a guest at the wedding and the pianist had a stroke...sight read the whole darn wedding...
yuck. I don't sight read that well, and she had no music. The internet helped find the piece she wanted.
oh no! how distressing.
for you and the person and the people who knew the person.
*passes mixi a valium*
I went to amine for several days of recovery. Got to swim several times and had a couple of steamed lobsters.
*maine.
Well, thankfully he wasn't at the wedding, was with his S.O. on the way to the wedding.
oohhh...lobster!! Back to food topic...yummy!!

clint eastwood
*no comment*
he's pretending the president is there and is asking him questions. it seems more like he's hallucinating.
Kinda pathetic...
*Thanks God Jilly finally commented* I really hope that chat is never governed by the drama of one.
Comment or burst...
Criticizing Obama for Afghanistan? Did Condi Rice already flee the state?
Lots of white out there.....
Obama has a lot to be criticized about regarding Afghanistan.
Personally, I have always wondered if he learned information that changed things once he took office...
Clint should get an Oscar ..
Well, you could be right, Jilly...since he had absolutely no knowledge about foreign policy before he took office.
Ouch....
And Sarah Palin did...oh that'w right...she could see Russia from her home....
oh for heaven's sake, everyone who gets to that podium has to speak about their disabled or poor or immigrant forebears.
What does Sarah Palin have to do with Obama being President? I never get that rebuttal. It's over. She's not an elected official.
or coming up from their bootstraps...
Bottom y?
Thank God Molly...
The Yi*** of Yorth ..
I agree. Thank God.
kje..y+ Govn Christie has a big g****
Big gut?
Yes he does
TY
Christmas m*****
yvw...
how are you kje...nice to see you
mittens is coming out of the green room....
Ok
Cold here today
Top e?
Mark Twain once said "THe coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Fransisco
ec7/48 Buwahahahaha!!!
It's sad that partisan politics has divided this country so much. Democrats hate Republicans, Republicans hate Democrats and meanwhile, neither party can manage to nominate a decent candidate.
tee hee...clue THAT on torgone!!
So I hear Jilly - gorgeous now cold
Love the laugh, tor. Can almost hear it.
Oh no tor... any hope?
Yes Molly not only that but negotiation and compromise no longer exists..
g-d has been evoked....
ec + parslea saga rosemara and th***
and add a vowel...
thank you
Hahahaha... I actually know that word. TY
It is medical ..
Yep
contagious virus of sheep
mark arubio for pres!
go mab!!
rainbow time....
yep
Don't know about the sheep virus, but the skin infection is similar to impetigo (but deeper and badder bacteria)
mittens had better be wearing tights and a cape after this introduction
you are correct kje...bacteria not virus
rofl
3983
3983 to you as well babblerabble.
oh oh. the unborn evoked.
mittens leaps in a single bound to the podium!
no, he's coming through the crowd. secret service agents are knocking delegates to the floor.
<---Makes a mental note to do a running commentary when The Magic President speaks from The Democratic Convention* : P
Nice of them.
look forward to it Molly! :D
Cannot wait for your comments that night Molly!!
Notice Mr Romney walked down a RED carpet....LOL
oh darn. he accepts the nomination.
Seriously, I can't figure out which one of them is full of more hot air.
True that!
And Mom enters the speech..
How many my?
There was a time when members agreed to keep politics out of the chat because of the divisiveness ... I have seen some very hot and hurtful exhanges
2
TY
my 5/22
2 ys in that one
gone ... the politics may resume
someone's put something in the delegates' punch.
sadly, not a sedative.
And now there is a time when members can have political exchanges without disrespecting each other.
Yep Molly...and one has a choice...and the most important thing is to VOTE!!
the spirit of neil armstrong is in the hall.
If we truly believed all this rah rah America is the greatest country line....we would VOTE!!
Yeah, but how do you vote when you don't believe in either candidate? I think the only way to shake these lame parties up is for people to chose NOT to vote.
Mmmm. Dinner arrived
Do tell...*living vicariously thru kje*
Sushi jilly
ooooooooooooooooo yummy
Yum
Eating something called axsimin roll, wouldn't have ordered it except a couple people mentioned it in reviews. Quite tasty (though lips starting to burn)
What is it?
Now see, I don't like sushi. But I'm not going to dramatically stomp out of chat and threaten to not return for months because the topic is being discussed.
so far, a good speech.
I have to agree...
It is panko crusted tuna in a maki roll topped with a spicy crab and carrot salad
yum
That does sound good...would you believe this tiny little town HAS a sushi restuarant? Will have to tell Toby about that combo
Sushi is pretty popular, Jilly, so I guess not too surprising...but is it fresh?
Oh yes...and good...but due to $$ they don't do a dollar night...so we cannot afford to go their too often
Sushi is cheaper here than Dallas. I guess bc they are on every corner where I live
Sushi came to Missoula about 10 years ago, a sister restaurant from Suasalito. The owner here learned the trade there and then opened his own place in our town
Lots in Dallas, but not in comparison to this. Here I feel the challenge (in my neighborhood) is finding nonasian fare
Yep, sushi and acrylic nails are cheaper everywhere but here...LOL
Lol!
Haven't checked out nails
I miss the great mexican food we ate in California...sadly, nothing comparable in MT
I agree with Mitt's comments...but still know that the middle class is being taxed out of existence...the wealthy have way too many tax evasions
I understand - missed Mexican like crazy when I moved to b-more. Everyone would try to take you to something they called Mexican (usually not) and you'd get your hopes up only to be sad when you ate it
On the other hand, some of those here will not vote for him because he is Mormon...that is really sad
Yep kje...Mexican and Oriental food (besides sushi) is hard to find here
Just as sad as the fact that a lot of people only voted for Obama because he is black. One issue voting doesn't work, for so many reasons.
Or didn't vote for him
He is black
oh.. politics.. I'll be back in June
That got split up - should be a bc in there
I really should be heading to bed...oh well
NO ruru No...
Ru!
Guess what Ru?
No matter Ru. You would have stomped out earlier due to the sushi discussion.
maybe July
oh.. yeah.. sushi'... huh.. I'm outta here talking sushi
YOU"RE IN SF!?????????
hi all
YES!!!!'
*eats a california roll*
*waves from gutter to JMC*
You made me laugh at that
Okay, to put you over the edge...I cooked a pasta with fresh tomatoes and basil, whole wheat penne, served with grilled chicken and zuccini...
:D
NO California roll jmc, but bet you would have liked the simon
i make my own mexican food . . .it is more reliable
Subsequently...house reeks of garlic...
not familiar with the simon
True jmc
mmmmmm garlic
It's a simple dish jm
no such thing as "reeks with garlic" in my house
ugh I did find a decent place there in the middle if nowhere....what was it called....
i am a simple person ru
And there are leftovers for tomorrow night...hubby is heading to Butte again to work on clearing and cleaning his mom's house...
there is a tolerable mexican place in harrisonburg va
Just as well you were not around Ru. You would have been chastised for not only your gutter mind, but your political comments. The boom was lowered.
i learned to ask for the salsa the staff eats
oh..
Damn, what was it called
I make and can my own salsa...
i passed the sensitive room on the way in.. it seemed pretty full
i don't recall chastising for political comments. . .but there is a wide spectrum here
Oh, ruru...
kje is getting older kje id getting older
hurray, mittens is going to give us freedom of religion!
she can't remember things
It's okay, I put the soothing zen music CD in. All should be well in The Sensitive Room.
LOL.. they'll need it
i chastise for explicit sexual remarks. . .because we do have a wide age range too
. . . a little innuendo and i am in
Gonna be a long time to November....
well.. watch out for periwinkle jm.. she can go over the top
Just remember Ru, I will never be as old as you
personally i thought all the people who went to jail over the years kept religion free
(or as senile as to wear a target)
and you'll never be as wise as I am either
as long as the target is moving. . .
Already am
*gets out sling shot*
OR forget a coffee date?
that depends on who's around jm
*Waves at all the young people that we often hear about but never see*
El azteca, Clarksville - they ate from Mexico city. Good mole
Are
you were in Clarksville?
we have had a few grandkids and nieces and nephews. . .and they all can read the archives
Mole is my judge of a mexican restaurant
holy mole
clarksville? really? *shocked look*
chocolate in any form is good!!
I love mole, all
me too
All kinds
especially with chocolate in it
not all mole has chocolate . . . .
I know jmc! Middle of freakin nowhere!
but mole with bitter chocolate is great
well that is immigration and migration for you kje. . .
that's real delta country kje
I guess the whips, chains and S&M comments should not be here either then.
There was a great little place in Jackpot Nevada...sadly not there anymore
The most common up here, from Oaxaca - has chocolate and ground nuts
Heaven on a fork
well if people want me to put away my whips i will. . .but they are less explicit. . .
Delta, Ru?
Okay..mitts is done..I so must I be...niters all...*waves at sensitive room on way out*
i was raised on mole with pumpkin seeds and chocolate myself
clarksville is in the sacramento delta

I would sing that as I drove to the boonies
Make mole ru
too much time.. I do make good mole.. but it takes hours
hours
and hours
whatever happened to peter?
even our mexican house cleaners said I make good mole
true about 2 days the way i was taught. . .
he's waiting tables again jm
The wolf ate him
blown all his money
i will be counting on it when i come to sf ru
okay..
one time I used the wrong peppers..though
I wouldn't count on it jmc... He talks a big meet up game, but never showd
too bad . . . he was the best musician of the group
it came out a little hot
no singing voice whatsoever
then it sounds good to me ru
What do you use? Should be poblano
Dried and smoked
hi
I thought I bought Poblanos. but they were something else.. I bought them at a mexican store.. waaaaay too hot
