thanks Rose, we had a wonderful visit from a dear friend who is now living in Greece. She had taught with my hubby back in the 70s
wow, what a buzz!! i bet you(collectively) didn't stop talking for most of the night.
it was a brief visit, 2 days, then back to Toronto before flying home - has talked us into visiting her in Greece next April
it's so lovely to have friends like that. since my beautiful robyn died, i don't seem to have clicked with wnyone special. i have you folks in chog who share a common love, ie babble. and of course, Don.

hi, all. I posted this yesterday on Facebook: The vet called this morning. Duchess's tumor was malignant. The good news is, it has not spread to her lymph nodes or chest, and we believe it was all removed. For now, we are going to assume and believe she is cancer-free, and we will have her checked every three months. The vet said this was not anyone's fault, and that spending a lot of money on a veterinary oncologist/chemo would probably not be much help. Cats do not tolerate chemo as well as dogs do, and we certainly do not want to put her through that if it will not help her. She is healing well, though, and seems to be pain-free. We have an excellent and very caring vet, who will be with us for the duration. We have had some tears, of course, but we are okay now, and we have renewed our commitment to love and care for Duchess and the other three girls for their lifetimes. The vet told us she has seldom seen people who dote on their pets as much as we do. We just call it love and being responsible.

my blood pressure and colesterol are fine,it is just i am carrying 50 extra pounds
I feel your pain, Jilly. I'm trying to avoid diabetes.
Once I reached 50, the only way I can get the scale to move is up. No matter how much exercise and how little food.
After losing the 81 pounds my BP returned to normal without meds, suddenly this past week it has skyrocketed and not repsonsive to meds...I can't help but think this DAMN smoke has something with it!
my first official weigh in is coming oct first so we will see if this type of diet is worth it or just BS

@jillibus You should look into archiving or preserving books/paper. Also, there are archival quality page covers. You might want to contact a local/provincial/national archive.
My author friends say they should be archived. I must look into getting them published in a small way.
