my fig tree is about 18 yrs old (was 5 ft tall when we planted it 15 yrs ago). It sprouted this year and then got hit by frost and I thought it was a goner. The ends of all the branches (and it's huge) are dead, but it produced many figs which fell of before ripening.
My qestion is, does it have to be harshly pruned and, if so, when?

We used to have an orchard 25 acres. We moved here and my husband found some old trees and has worked very hard to bring them back. Last year he grafted other varieties on the branches. Next year or the following, we will have 15 dif. kinds

I was diagnosed yesterday with a right ear infection, fluid in my left ear, a sinus infection, allergies and a cold. Is this possible? Am I really THAT lucky?

Well, a cold is a viral sinus infection and will last 10-14 days. If symptoms persist longer then a bacterial sinusitis is possible and the use of antibiotics must be considered. Allergic rhinitis is common. A middle ear infection will cause persistent pain. So plugging, fullness, pressure, popping of the ear(s) just means the Eustachian tube is plugged, not a true infection.
What I mean about nasal allergies is that many people have that as a seasonal or year-round problem.
I am on amoxicillin for 10 days and ProAir

I do have allergies...but I have absolutely no relief from Zyrtec.
I am thinking I should probably go see my ENT this week.
Nasal steroid or nasal antihistamine sprays are far more effective than an oral antihistamine.

Coughing with extremly tight bronchial tubes. Shooting spasmodic ear pain that traveled over two days up my head and where it was happening my hair now hurts. My nose is horribly stuffy for a couple of days and then I will have 1 or 2 days of relatively relief and then it starts all over again.

Crossy - I graduated that way. My parents made me (grudgingly) participate in the graduation ceremony. So we've got tons of proud momma and papa pics. Plus, I got to use that free semester for working, learning how to be an adult, and going abroad for experiences. It was really wonderful.

i have never cared about graduations. still dont. my son and daughter in law want me to come to theirs this dec. and i am not looking forward to it. they are getting mba degrees at booth school, the business school at univ. of chicago and they are both very happy about it. for me the pomp and ceremony are all so fake and costly.

This year we had rain and cold weather well into July, and all my fruit trees and most of the veggies were late developing. Most years I harvest plums in mid-July this year not until August. And then it was VERY dry, and I had to water things I normally don't. Might have lost a couple things that I missed in my rounds. :-(

We are trying to get him back to DeKalb (he is in a nursing home in Rockford) so he can be closer to his friends. But he is gradually getting weaker.
grant is royally P-O'd at me. He asked if he could go to double TKD practices this week to get ready for the tournament -- the tournament that last night I told him I hadn't signed him up for because he wasn't getting his homework in. *sigh* I am so sad...
I am glad he is in less pain, and hope he can move, but the pain is the main thing. I will keep him on my list, and hope that his quality of life will improve.

nope, not easy at all. He is saying that the work from this week shouldn't count, and I agree (he was sick at the beginning of the week), but last week's work, when he wasn't sick is another story. I hope that at some point he will come around.

My little Buffy was a mutt-a-poo and she had a sharp bark, but only used it when there was someone in the driveway or door. She was my "stranger alarm" and knew to stop as soon as I said "thank you." I always felt safe when she was with us.

I was not too in 5/12 doing the grid. I have just said my oohs and aa4/5s over my fireworks.Now I will lend a ha 4/6 and ty 4/7 a story that has a he4/6 of clues in it for those who ne 4/5 to re 4/5 my story. I ea4/4 a living as a teacher. I've ea 6/21 a living as a teacher for not too long so I'm not as ad5/14 at teaching as others.Some of my students are a pain in my an4/5. They do not he4/6 my warnings about their behavior & th 4/7 continue to misbehave. Whenever I try to hu 4/7 their loud yelling, the students won't shut up.Despite these students, I still have a de 4/6 love for teaching. Da4/5! Husband wants the computer. How da4/5 he take computer away from me! Bedtime is ne4/4 anyway,so I will sure4/5er laptop to him. I'm glad I have ty 5/18 my story and was able to sh5/12 it with you.
