natch, Neil. I knew before I asked.
Ha. ;)
missing the two solo Es for nbt.
I thought Obama was excellent and like everyone else, loved that "horses and bayonets"
Neil, my friends and I were cracking wise on fb. Drinking games:
Hi Jill:)
half way and crashing -- see you tomorrow :)
1.every time Romney agreed with Obama, 2. "I know how to..." from Romney, 3. "Four years closer to a nuclear bomb."
58 to go after 1st run
Ummm yeah... did you see mine?
Haha, I'll email something to you. Hang on.
Let me put it this way, Jilli: Romney made a powerful case for an experienced commander-in-chief, and that's who i voted for!
I'll check my email, Neil.
the debate was a democratic wet dream
Neil, your 6:26—perfect! You are officially a pundit.
Did anybody notice that Romney said our Air Force was founded in 1947? Hello? Then who in hell was bombing Berlin in 1943,1944 and 1945? And a few other places....
I think in the early 40s, it was called the ArmyAir Corps? (remember that song)> Did he mean the name changed in 1947?
According to wikipedia, it was officially founded in Sept 1947.
During WW2 I think it was The Army Air Corps, Erda
If he meant it, he didn't say so...
This at newyorker.com: Andy Borowitz: Debate Ends Abruptly as Obama Punches Romney in Face Read more http://www.newyorker.com/#ixzz2A65XrEv\nn
Christine, I remember that song.
"Officially founded" -- I stand by what I said. They EXISTED, dammit...
Now it'll be in my head for three days --- but that's OK.
Erda, that 1947 sounded like a coached remark.
define "coached"
boats underwater is called a submarine.. one of my fave obama quotes.
Mine too...
his handlers did some research and gave him some facts. Not cobbled together very skilfully.
I'll say....
I wanted "yowser" to be a word

Ok melonhead... check email.
I know, Christine
I did too jilli.
And yeah, I tried it.

Woops melon... that email bounced. Apparently the address you had given me doesn't work?
Neil, no email so far. what's your twitter handle?
to7X2 = variations on that which keeps dentists fully employed.
hmmm. I'm sure I've gotten emails from you before Neil.
I'll emailyou.
I sent it to the Gmail.
Ok.
My Twitter name is the same name I use everywhere online... including here.
But it's not a good place to connect. I get literally thousands of tweets daily and don't see more than a fraction of them... it's too crazy.
And all I do there is post updates... which I also post in here while I'm doing that.
Mostly links that nobody reads. :P
I just tweeted you. I only follow a few people.
Oh ok.
need middle column E for nbt. Will I hate myself for asking for a clue?

Hi Sprite and others
hi sprite
and Liz
hi Liz and flosey!
you are almost in the grid, flosey
ah, so I am, Flo
which I am usually called
flo + sey. Just not touching
ah nice :) It is a lovely name.
ty sprite, named after Mom's best friend who died at 26
that is a special legacy
Sad but great that you carried the name on
an ailment that would be treatable today
that re7/28 seems odd though it's been in before
don't have that yet - not been here long but just loved getting 2 x to / 7s
not as odd for me, that ending is pretty common in Dutch for certain professions and 'states' of persons.
followed by a not so nice di 4!
nice going, Liz
yes and pl one the other is a pl
just over halfway and suspecting this grid won't be easy
I'm only up to 80 but have to do other stuff for a while. Catch you later, perhaps. Enjoy the grid.
bye Liz, have a good one
gm all, (sprite) :)
hiya Shallow :)
not as bad as I thought, this grid... 50 left
grey day here, autumn finally arriving
yeah, same here. Overcast, but fiery colours appearing in the tr5.
hit the wall at 144
yes, that happened to me too. I got a second wind a bit later though. You will too!
May I please have a clue for to7-52 the 2nd? Thanks
hi peach, my 2nd is same as first, but change a vowel.
snobs/sweets
pl of the the same word, different spelling
Thanks so much, sprite, shallow and flosey.
yvw peach
I'm down to 33 but will have to come back later in the day.....thanks for the help, y'all. Good Luck.
bye peach, have a good one
bye peach
well done peach, presume it's sleep time? it is here
I am such a moron sometimes. Am sitting here playing, cold to the bone. And all I needed to do was pull out something warm to wear. Well, finally did... how nice to warm up again :)
thatll take some time now, suggest you support it with a hot drink
chilly here too, am ready for bed, in turkish terry robe, nice and cozy
which actually is agood iidea to do here to, ill make some tea:)
sounds like a plan. However, that involves me going down the stairs and back up... which I will postpone until after the grid so I won't have to go twice :)
oh nice, flosey!
once it's on it cosy, sometimes it seems too heavy to lift
yeah the steep dutch stairs - id try to avoid that too... ;)
is that typical in holland? steep stairs?
hehehe :) I can't walk too well and medication has not yet kicked in, so I better keep it low key for a bit longer.
pretty much so, flosey
conserving space?
yes. Small country, small houses. Space is at a premium here.
they have some flats that interlock with one another, like you live on 1st and 3rd floor while the neighbour lives on 2nd and 4th
lol yes, indeed. But that is uncommon!
good friend of mine in amsterdam lives in a house like that
interesting
that's us, the dutchies. Cheap, cramped, but interesting ;)
love the netherlands
we designed our retirement home and had it built - stairs are shallow and a bit wider and good strong handrail
we retired to the old family farm, lots of space
that sounds so wonderful, flosey.
yes, a lot of apartments are in bad design regarding the disabled and elderly over here too
government was starting an initiative as the population is growing subsequently older but its a difficult subject
I'd love to live with friends, later... share the load. But that is probably just a dream.
well, I could imagine moving into a smaller space as we age but would have a problem with all the 'treasures' we've aquired over the years
so would i, sprite. alten-wg
many elderly people here have to move to a one-room appt.
let's keep it in mind, Shallow :)
and spend a fortune for the rent and caretaking
oh man yes... those prices are ridiculous
we have some lovely buildings built here to accommodate just that kind of thing - one main diningroom so no cooking facilities in their units. And I hear they have a very good chef
that would be awesome
you have to place your name on a list and you hear about a unit as it becomes vacant
fi4flies! Not a bad grid :) Any help needed before I take myself downstairs?
well done sprite
thanks, down to 43 and think they can wait until morning, must get to bed. goodnight all
wtg sprite!!
gn flosey
night flosey, sleep well
morning all
hi and bye flosey!!
congrats sprite!!!
hi smores, sorry to go when you arrive! Have fun all, and *hugs*
gm smores:)
bye sprite, have anice day:)
enjoy your day sprite :p
hi ya shallow
'teaties' should be a word. Its Scottish for 'breast'.
with all that scottish around, one more or lees wouldnt matter ;) hi chef:)
aloha. Thought everyone was dead for a minute. Was getting ready for the zombie apocalypse. Chainsaw and cricket bat at the ready.
ill throw my teapot ...
Make suire its empty first. In my experience, zombies get annoyed at hot tea.
Its something to do with the tannins.
will keep that in mind. you never know, with allt aht halloween thingy going on and such
although im currently on greek mountain tea ...
Now, as far as I understand it, zombies dislike tea but dont mind coffee. You should be alright with something like redbush or similar. More research is probably needed.
happiness is a warm zombie-repellant
spot on!
Im done, so in the spirit of true procrastination before I go and do something constructive - any clues?
thanks, puzzling on the last one, think ill manage
have a fun day
byeeeeeeeeee..............

i have ordered a special alarm clock for him online.it is battery powered and the compartment has a special hex key so you cannot just power it down and it has a flat top with 4 different plastic shapes in it like that game where you had to put the shapes in within 60 seconds it it woiuld fling them all over the room.well this clock has 4 or 6 large shapes and when the alarm goes off it fires them all over the room and the alarm will continue to sound untill you gather up all the shape and replace them in the clock:)

Hi Hego!

We want to know where you got the cheese.
Come on car, you cant say "pumpkin cream cheese" then disappear
ty
I am so happy today....construction has started on my mom's bathroom, so I now have a HUGE dumpster in my front yard! Time to declutter the house!! WHEEEEE!

I think you could make it easily.
Sorry I left...I was making the workmen coffee.
Sorry. Dammit. Sorry.

Oopsie Judi! Oh Well!
It is like eating just the inside part of a pumpkin pie...and the bagel is the yummy crust!
Hmmm. No pumpkin cream cheese in the PB.
car will get on that.
I ate it all!
The glut of all things pumpkin at this time of year kind of makes me nauseous.
greedy little thing.
Sorry...I couldn't help myself!
I like seasonal foods.
I was going to use some as body paint on the cabana boys. So much for that.
decadent!
lol...Judi
Yum!
crossy mentioned 3 fruit marmalade earlier, you can use that Judi
OK...here is a new stock of pumpkin cream cheese for the PB with fresh bagels....

The nice thing about this grid is when you are finished you are done with it ... unless you want to look some.
Bye
look some more.
gotcha
I have been finding I has less trouble finding words if I find them right away.
me too
Helps to leave and come back too.

bye hego :)
I just start shouting, "Come out, come out wherever you are!"
hi all
did it work BR?
howdy jmc
lol..BR..maybe I should try
hi jmc
my boy is in asheville picking me up some jalopena beer. . . yum!
No, but the neighbors came over to play what I was playing
:-)
Bless the good son.
hi again all!
jalopena beer??
hi uu
hi again uu, Molly :)
can you explain your icon please uu
jalapeno
mammatus clouds, jmc, they can occur if the air is turbulent
i have never seen them. . . pretty amazing
There should be an H on the end of that word. : P
I have seen them occasionally - these were over Regina, Saskatchewan, perhaps they are more common over the central plains
mammatush?
i have one of those
Yes, what a great word.
me too :-(
it is! haha
wow, just looked at your profile uu, very nice
only time i ever saw clouds like that,we were under a tornado watch and those were forming ove blue mtn
well she did say turbulent air
she did indeed
there actually is an explanation if you scroll down far enough
oh i guess i quit too soon
sorry, I've been using my profile for some writing therapy lately and it's gotten a bit wordy
not a problem. . . it is your profile after all
so i broke down and bought a new computer before this one dies
This explains a lot about page placement on internet searches. If you aren't in the first 10, forget it. People rarely scroll to the bottom of a page. Teeny tiny attention spans. : D
its the only thing teeny tiny about me molls
<--- only for the long-attention-span crowd
Hooray for new computers!
what did you get, jmc?
nice jmc
dell Inspiron 15
nice, I like Dell
Nice. Dells are great computers.
crossy sends out a pray for jmc,s dell
prayer
nice! My new computer (as of several months ago) is a Dell too.
i put a new hard drive in this one a year and a half ago and have been typing with only one shift key working and it is getting harder and harder to reboot it so i decided not to wait for a crisis
the founder of Dell was a conscientious objector during vietnam. . . and they give student discounts
Good pre-planning your needs. Gold star.
Good thinking. I had a laptop whose j key had quit working, and which was taking forever to boot up also.
my dells have been fine over the years crossy
got the mrs a nice toshiba quad core a-10 chip unit last month.seems to work well
I have had a Dell laptop for over 4 years and my husband has just announced that he will buy me a new one for Christmas (I think he is fed up with the blue air when it takes forever to go from one page to the next)
haha i usually wait until the computer dies on april 10!
why april 10th
so the new computer has additional ram and processing speed but still has way too much memory
just in time for a tax deduction?
gets in the way of doing taxes
i do tax returns for part of my living jiving
hi hursh
Oh I see
hi
so april 10 is the most annoying possible date
:-)
and hi hurshy and jenny!
so of course the computer always breaks down at the worst possible moment
ahhh
well jmc you are definately ready now :)
we will see. . . i tried to buy a computer a short while ago but had so many problems with it i took it back to best buy and bought a new hard drive instead
stats for the second row E please
ei4, I think
ty molls *looking*
yes that was it
stats for the bottom O please

some others for the 2nd e are ea5, ei5 and I think ef4
some of those come from the second column E not second row E
do5= hunting for water with a balanced wooden stick or rod
and pt for the 6
and the person who does it
yup
thnks crossy
ah, I'd missed the person.
anyway, time to get to work. See you all later!

okay, hope the blood pressure goes down. ((TO))
<----------sends TO a hug and cup a chamomile
ahh repairs around the house:( makes for a rough day sometimes..
think i'm going to go out and shovel off the deck. <--bored.
i was in construction/reno for 10 years and the rule of thumb that seems to work the best is take the estimated cost of the project, remove 10% for deals, coupons etc than take the new total and double it.same for finish times, take est time to finish, remove 5 days for good days, then double the remaining total
you have snow lbd?
wow, crossy that kinda sucks
it works more often than not and thats what really sucks:/
renos of course being harder than new builds
of course
are new builds closer to the estimate?
yes
or is that rule apply to both?
*does not is
with new builds, you know exactly what you need going in and there are fewer hidden surprises
and of course no one already living there :)
for instance i had one reno, the old lath and plaster walls were to be removed and new drywall put up and wallpaper.i opened up the wall only to find it had been filled with urea formaldehyde
I did drywall work years ago
mainly finishing new construction
the home had to be vacated, sealed off,all the urea removed whith full haz-mat suits and ventelated for a month
yeeww, what a mess
yup
same when you run into asbestos insulation
everything comes to a grinding halt
had that problem before - nasty, itchy stuff
nice grid, 18 to go no help of any kind
now may i have what the 8 starts with?

There is little use in modern society for a word that means a hand grinder for grain
i keep trying to put int yert, but it won't take - i thought it was some mongolian tent?
That is with a U, I think
okay.. at least i'm not imagining words
Oh keep imagining. There are lots of imaginary words allowed by Enable. : D
true that, Molly! :)
the bane of a babbler's existence... especially some of the un and re wrds
hi all and gl:)
hi alta
*!* ta da *!*
wtg!
ty - got the black golf balls out, alta?
yay, nan!!!
lol cyber...need them today! lots of snow
you get any in your area?
we're getting lots of rain, but snow only on the mountain tops --- can't confirm this as there is too much cloud in the valley bottom.
we always watch alta weather - daughter in Lethbridge and a son in Calgary
I think our golf season is over -- played last game a week ago.
yes. My son just moved to Calgary few months ago, and being mom... told him to watch those icy roads! Way more traffic than he is used to in this town.
whereabouts are you?
aww too bad on your golf! My last game was almost 3 weks ago. I can't do those noon starts waiting for frost delays and such. Wrecks the whole day
Innisfail...about 20 minuted south of RedDeer if you know the area
yes, I guess my sisters-in-law are getting snow in SK as well
you are in Kelowna right?
yes
you have the best Value Village on the planet there! I love it:)
lol - have never been in it
you gotta go!
I've been trying to get rid of stuff, not add to it!

hi all
I ordered a printer from Amazon yesterday and in less than 24 hours it arrived on my doorstep!
hi peri gl
amazon is awesome
they are indeed
Hi Peri. I love Amazon. I always get my items very quickly.
the original message I got from them said 7 days. I called them and said I thought it was 2 day delivery with amazon prime. she said on most items. then later in the day I got an e-mail saying the item was shipped and to expect it today!
my biggest beef with them is because they are so quick, and I forget that part, I order xmas gifts early, and theres only a 30 day return policy. so have to be careful
I am in the process of setting it up. so far so good.
They have amazing customer service.
and it fits on the corner of my computer desk too
I have the qu5/16 odd, help with other pls
qu - sounds like a grecian vessel!
quern
oops
thanks
thats the one!!
was looking in the wrong direction
lol
hi all, inserting myself into an old thread about Amazon, but have to sing their praises.... we live overseas but have an American address (a diplomatic PO)... we can order, use the free super saver shipping (not even priority!) and get stuff in 7 days!!!

oh! AND I am going to my first professional conference as a professional! *bounce bounce* the National Council for the Social Studies is having their annual meeting in Seattle this year. :-) really looking forward to that next month.
you? other than speaking a lot of bulgarian? are you well?
a garden sounds wonderful! we live in a wonderful neighborhood (heck, I live near the president of the country), but we have no spigots, only in-ground sprinklers for the grass, so a garden is a bridge too far here
almost got blown up by terrorists this summer, but other than that, groovy
oooh. POSH!
I read about that, I am glad you are okay. Had forgotten you were in that area.
the Social Studies conference sounds great! I sometimes miss my teaching days
we had actually flown into that airport 3 hours before the blast
I regularly miss my days being "just" a mom... but I love being in the classroom! Hope to get a full-time job in the next year.
that is TOO close, Jen.
that sounds nice! I also miss the days of being "just" mom. I figure when I move back, I'll play every lottery I can, LOL
a week later I was hit by a drunk driver.... interesting summer :-)
you'n'me both, Jen. I have so enjoyed meeting up with the babblers in our area.
YIKES! Does amazon sell bubble wrap? I think you should invest...
Ha! I should definitely invest! My last Babble meet was waaaay back in about 2006!
Wow Jen, that's some terrorist story! Nice to meet you!
that's a long time, jen...
OH GEE. *bad friend look* Jen, this is jilly -- she lives in Montana and knows harpjane.
Molly is around here somewhere, she is relatively new.
I think you know MLF and sue (who just headed out?)
Hi Jilly and nice to meet you! I recognize a few of the other names
Jen is an OLD babbler from way back, jilly -- we used to swap tales of our lives...
I think I am one of the originals... picked it up after a blog on popwatch on usatoday, went Pro 2 days after it was offered!
Hi Jen. Over five years, but I'm "relatively new".
that long molly? LOL how time flies!
speaking of time, my jars for the canning are finally clean and I need to get cracking... working the rest of the week, so no time to waste! (((Jen))) be well, stay in touch. *poof*
I'm definitly the baby here...3 1/2 years...

And *poof* bbl
and now it is time for crossy,s heavy quote of the day!! free crossy breakfast if you can tell me who wrote it!
"One day many years ago a man walked along and stood in the sound of the ocean on a cold sunless shore and said "We need a voice to call across the water, to warn ships; I'll make one. I'll make a voice that is like an empty bed beside you all night long, and like an empty house when you open the door, and like the trees in autumn with no leaves. A sound like the birds flying south, crying, and a sound like November wind and the sea on the hard, cold shore. I'll make a sound that's so alone that no one can miss it, that whoever hears it will weep in their souls, and to all who hear it in the distant towns. I'll make me a sound and an apparatus and they'll call it a Fog Horn and whoever hears it will know the sadness of eternity and the briefness of life."
Ray Bradbury
yaaa for teach!!!
was indeed written by Ray and as of this year he is sadly no longer with us and will be missed
oh and if anyone has a nice clean hardcover copy(arkham house 1947) if his book 'dark carnival let me know please

funny game Molly; don't think I could finish the game though. (hic)
Nope, just a regular old typo.

drinking game add-in: take a shot every time via stops by for less than seven minutes...
*Gulp*
I used to have calla lilies, but they didn't do well for me.
and a sip every time ruru makes a pun (the worse the pun, the bigger the sip)
and finish your glass every time Molly dances on the table in the PB
oh gee, viajes, that 6:29 rule would have us all drinking by the gallon... (which is okay if it's mulled cider)
mmm... mulled cider
there. under 40 and listing (NOT from the drinking game, btw...)
I'm at 56... but the last three clues were all words I didn't have, so ty all!
I have been peeling apples ALL day, viajes, making canned apple pie filling using the last of our home-grown apples and some heirloom varieties we got this weekend. I would make home-growed cider if I had a press! :-D maybe next year.
Ooooh! That sounds awesome, stidmama!
yummy stid
I was just stopping by while I wolf down my dinner... now must get dressed and go out again for the evening... no rest for the wicked! (or the busy)
first time I have done this -- friend recommended it (she has FOUR boys and does this to maintain sanity). So I did one batch this morning that turned out well and decided to do another since I am only volunteering tomorrow, not "in charge" :-)

I missed that Molly!
Apparently, he is not the first media person to do it.
easy mistake really. not offended here.
but in a debate? thats funny :P
It is a completely understandable mistake. People who get offended by stuff like that are way too thin-skinned.
Agreed 100%.
very very similar spelling and both very famous (or infamous in OBL's case)
howdee fellow addicts
Hello Gwen! :o)

jmc, good idea, i've not made a plan yet
sounds like fun
if I had the money I'd go as Pennywise.
someone was going as an elf and wanted me to go as an elfette with him *gag*
how would you dress?
<===REALLY wants to see pic of TO as an elfette hahahahahahahaha
how would you dress cosd to be pennywise
yeah well i have two words for you :P
oh i see a clown with sharp teeth
ra6pls?
lol yes jmc :)
get vampire fangs and white pancake makeup and lip stick and a baggy shirt
baggy striped shirt
eye brow pencil. . . orange jello for you hair
the dollar store has 1.00 clown accessories, shoes, bows, etc. i may get that and get vampre plastic fangs lol
well yes that is pretty well definined character, isn't it cos?
orange jello (no question mark, keyboard key broken)
borrow eye makeup and lipstick from a friend
you can wash jello into you hair for temporary die. . . blue or orange or red
WOW
ra6? re7? Pls?
sorry TO i don't have them
yes orange jello is good, you are a blond are you not?
I just had a thought.....how about dressing up and going to someplace and give out goodies, i.,
That could be a possible costume
such as a nursing home or ....oh, well, maybe not such a good idea after all.
wonder if most kids would know who pennywise is
it would depend on the goodies peach i think
Yeah, you're right.
wouldn't matter they would still see a scary clown
back to work .... night all
bye weiik
Well, if it very scary.....diffenitely not a good idea.
is -even
cos this is for an adult party?
Yes, but a cute costume with the nursing home giving out goodies is a great idea. I think the folks would love it.
TO - ra6 = to cofirm or sanction something. Sounds like you rodented it!
re7 = to reconfirm something.
Hello all, btw!
whoa, jac to the rescue! x
Just finished writing a story so thought I'd drop in here to wind down.x
we are planing halloween costumes
TO - so I see. Clowns arte definitely off the menu for me. I hate them.
Zombies, vampires, ghosts etc., are fine.
brb
are you familiar with steven king's ennywise?
Hi there Jacula...what kind of story?
Jilly - Hi! The story this evening was one about walking the dog - who you meet, what you find etc.
*rethinks question knowing Jacula is trying to wind down*
that fy ending gets a workout today
non fiction or fiction?
hi all!
Nice...I really miss having a dog to walk. She was so friendly to all, except for those she sensed something in...then she was all guard dog!
TO - Pet Sematary gave me nightmares! LOL. I do like Stephen King's books, but not that one. James Herbert's 'The Cottage' - read that. It's a great horror story.
Hi nrkii!
That it does TO!
Hi nrkii!!
TO - fiction, taken from life.
hey nrk!
Love the sentiment on your icon TO!!
I miss having a dog to walk, too, TO! My Mum still walks her dog and those she dog-sits, though. I sometimes go with her.
hi nrkii!
dogs are a good way to meet potential partners
Jacula...your Pet Semetary fear reminds me of a real situation. My friend had a kitty that her husband accidently ran over (her head). Kitty survived, but she always had an ee5/10 look about her and always gave me, the usual cataholic, the CREEPS..
ooh gross
TO, many places the dog parks act as meet-up places...
*shudder*
Hi JMC!!
hi jilly
ny dad actually killed the cat that way
It's taken me 19 years to even think about wanting another dog after I had to take my beloved JRXSheltie to the vet to make his final journey. However, I have the cat from hell living with me at present, who fights off any other living creature that is not a human. I'd not like to subject a puppy or an older dog to his wrath.
i could use a suggestion for a costume since my idea was shot down
Wise woman Jacula!
jmc, what was your idea?
What was your idea jmc?
and will it be for a party, or for handing out candy?
Jilly - your kitten story is scarey!
notebook binders. . . it is a party of political junkies in DC
mostly journalists
I'm going to look like a traveler...cuz I WILL be...hubby and I leave for Hawaii on Halloween
i bet they give you candy on the flight
I think that idea is FABULOUS jmc..whoever shot it down and WHY??
good for you Jilly!
jmc, thinking....
molls and my boy for different reasons
be a tall tail
??? how would i do that BR
jmc - also thinking here. How about costumes for the most hated heads of states or countries?
haha too many to choose from jac
Depends on how large your group is, jmc.
Well, actually we are driving to Missoula to spend the night. We fly out at the butt crack of dawn and that gives us a little more sleep. Plus we will keep our truck at the motel and save on parking.
well i am only in charge of my costume jac. . . not my party but a friend's
is it mixed politics, or all/most one side?
Ah... jmc.
mostly one side as they all live in DC nrkii
gotcha
thinking some more...
JMC..you could go as a Navy ship.... ;)
if real politicians were there, would go as a convict
ahem one year i went as sarah palin (complete with bangs and a moose)
jmc - all in DC, all mostly one side, that shouldn't be too hard to do then! Has anyone suggested a theme?
I still see nothing wrong as a women in a binder...(still lmao)
no there is no theme but most of the costumes are either political or current events
Yes, I am the killjoy.
my boy says too many people are already doing it (his age anyway)
Or, jmc, you could all perhaps put adult things aside and just do it in your inner child way? All of you.
*sigh* "Secrets of the Dead"just succedded in making th ecuban missle crisis the most boring program i have seen
no not at all molls we all have opinions and i am willing to hear them. . .
Hi mols
haha then too bad i threw out the dress i had that had ruffles on the bum after i saw a video of me doing the chicken dance at a wedding
well many folks are going as unemployed muppet i hear, esp tbig bird
I don't love the binders idea either, both from a logistical and thematic sense
ed
All Hallow's Eve was traditionally the time when the dead got to walk the earth and make mischief. Not all of the dead did bad things; some just did things to let their family know they were still keeping an eye on them.
big bird costumes are sold out. . .so i dont want to do what lots of other people are doing. . .i try to be unique
strap a broom to your back as the tale (tail) and pass out your favorite political fabrications
yes the logistics on the binders has been a quandary to me as well nrkii
brb
Hallowe'en is not supposed to be political.
hmmm i will think about that BR a couple of the people coming work for PoliFact. . .
everything is political in DC Jac
I don't know Jacula, I always get a few poliitcal-costumed trick-or-treaters. It's fine.
yes i remember the nixon and mcgovern masks when i was younger
How about a carton of 1% milk?
1% milk?
1%
oh i see. . . haha
that has some appeal nrkii
jm - pity about that in DC, jmc. Takes all the fun out of it.
not to us jac. . .we are mostly here because we are interested in it
I still have to figure out my zombie doll costume. 1 week to go. Yikes.
origin refresher: http://tinyurl.com/2449vn
You could make yourself an over sized crack pipe and go around muttering "The bitch set me up" : P
well i am 1/2 way and have a few things to do before bed. . . i will think about the 1% idea nrkii
oh nrkii i can totally see you as a zombie doll!
If I come up with anything better, I'll let you know
I suppose the fact that the tradition is kept alive is one thing, but it's such a shame that the pagan roots are being lost.
jmc, I have an old doll costume... I'm not sure how well it will zombify
to be current i would have to say "i oppose gay marriage because i am a moral man" :p
Jack-o-lanterns have Pagan roots.
well it would mainly need to be your face zombie-fied with some dirt on the dress and hair, no?
I'm off to bed now. Enjoy your chat and the rest of the grid, all.x
se7 please?
*hands molls a turnip*
bye jac
sorry cosd
cos - se7 = to make more than one series of something.
doesnt everything have pagan roots though? christmas, halloween
ilike th e1%bn thing. i am g oing to parties but not dressing
marraige
s + P***s icon has a blue balloon + I can't believe I *** the whole thing
*blush* really TO!
ty thought i tried that word already
Yes, a lot of our holiday traditions have Pagan roots.
better run myself
Yes, everything has pagan roots, Cos. I'm not going to go into historian mode now, since I'm off to bed.
good night all!
okay well 111 left and good night all
correct me if im wrong but didnt kids use to stay home at halloween and leave out candy for samhain back in the days?
night je let us know what you come up with
i really want to go to mexico to do day of the dead, nrk would you consider that?
not in my neck of the woods
42 left. All T's and 3 Y's Yeesh.
Cakes and ale for the faeries.
Great clue Molly!
They do the Day of the Dead in Missoula TO..
cake and ale is a clue? for which word?
jilly -- bad wild fire in Pueblo, CO erupted today.
i think teef should be a word. As in 'my teef are bothering me today.'
ta6/36 please?
Darn Cos...I think our fire season has ended. It's been spitting snow and the mountains are already snow covered.
sorry to hear that, cos. Not been a good year for fires in the West.
Cos...ta6/36 is a tax
I shot the ta6, but I did not shoot the deputy.
ahhh tyvm
our mountains are snow covered too but Pubelo is in the valley :(
why can't you re lose weight? I do it all the time, lol
i tried that on WWF today shirl :)
Cakes and ale for the faeries was not a clue. It was in response to Cos's comment on Samhain.
ahh ok thought so but wanted to double check :)
and the masks is because they wanted to hide from Samhain right?
People wore masks to "scare" away the spirits of the dead, believed to roam the Earth that night.
who says you can't learn from tv shows.. i learned all that in one episode of Supernatural :P
fireworks
WooT WooT WooT cosdem!!
tyvm for ur help!
3 inches of snow expected for tomw night and thurs AM in Denver.
Less snow, but same here...has turned cold..
Hello babblers
hiya, River, how you doing today?
hanging in there...arm still very sore...but can move it better outwards just not up or reaching
and cant go back to work tomorrow...ugh....Doc gave me a note returning to work on Thursday but I thought I would go back tomorrow...boss told me I cant because of the note..my company wont take me back yet
so I get to be lazy one more day
Wow River..so sorry...may I ask what happened?
Klutzy me fell in my own driveway on wet slippery leaves......thought I broke my arm or shoulder...fell pretty hard....but x-rays showed no breaks, just a severe sprain and bruising
those damn dress shoes did me in....
thats it...no more fancy shoes...only flats, boots or sneakers
Be careful, you could have injured your rotator cuff in your shoulder...
that was the diagnosis....sprained rotator cuff.... but my shoulder is feeling much better, it is my upper arm that is stiff very hurtful
Yaktracks are fabulous for ice.
I have a large lump half way up my upper arm....so that must be the bruising.....I have yaktracks but no ice here yet...the dastardly leaves is what got me
leaves are treacherous.
my yaks are great in the winter when I need to walk my hilly driveway
we are 350 feet uphill on a 9% grade...it is quite steep so the yaks are great....
The parking lot at the hospital scares me to death in the winter...still scared even with yak tracks
:) having grown up in a very hilly area, i know the value of good cleats.
thank you all for your concern....I have good meds and it is getting better...one more day of rest and then back to work for me.....the only problem is the meds put me to sleep so I have been napping alot and now here I am at almost 11 pm and cant get to bed....
Well, it's time for me to hit the pillows..so to be a good example for River...bye all and River Feel Better Soon!!
thanks Jilly...good to see you...good night my friend
any have the second row E for NBt please
River, thank you. You are the one who turned me on to Yack Trax. Those things are great.
Second row E is short for duck down.
got it thanks Molly
I could not live without my cleats here in the winter especially with my driveway
they are the easiest on and off and provide great traction...well worth the money
May I please have a clue for de5-22? Thanks
