What to do at Bright?

rap CD's are good for skeet shooting...
umm,,,, will take your word for it rbud
It will prove whether he has lost his touch or not - I have a family of Rossi fans but I'm more sceptical.

Brother-in-law has 3 houses in the area, his family all keen skiers. 2013 will reveal whether right or wrong. Casey was ok with Ducati. Maybe our friend Jeremy Burgess has lost his touch too. Anyway, had better carry on.

oh, and dee, sleep and rest well, dear
hey liz
Hi there - happy with casey???
sure am. i think simonetti's death made him think very hard about his future. he now has a wife and child to consider.
It's always a fine balance
i think he has made the right decision. a very mature decision.
I'd agree there - but I bet it wasn't an easy decision to make - or perhaps he knew it was time
like i said simonetti's death made quite a few of the riders sit back and think hard. casey acted responsibily.
I'm sure it did - I agree - a mature decision.
How are things with you?
going goodly, thanx. we are off for a few days to bright. mother mac in respite.
discomfort is more stiffness which ease as i move around...not surgical pain
So a holiday - or duty - don't forget I'm relatively new here and don't know people too well! Glad the pain is easing.
hey - there is only 52 words here - what gives!
Hi Lyn - lots of people finished quickly - I'm not finding it so easy but not giving up!!!
hey, lyn. it's not too bad.
Bright - very pretty. A few runs up the mountains nearby will get rid of that stiffness. Riding up there?
Sounds like a nice place.
snow nearby in Winter, Autumn is glorious with the colored leaves...Summer is is just plain lovely, very peaceful
lol, NO!!!. not into masochism. lol just have a look-see. it might become a family holiday place.
good choice
Like the description but can do without snow. Had enough of that in England!
Back later - found 30, so I'll leave it there. Enjoy the evening :)
bye Liz
later liz
i'm outta here. happy babbling to all fellow babblers.
bye Rose

Lawyer - I thought that was a foreign language -- for someone who stands on her head?
nope...just legalese.
For the rest of the day? make your own puzzle -
You have been a member for a day or two, Christine
Small grids are generally more difficult I find, but this was a cinch.
no. that's work, and today is a legal holiday---no work today
Oh, as my FiL would say, I'm older than dirt.
Hello Big Sister. This looks to be a hard one but you claim it to be a cinch.
I was the reporter when God said, "Let there be light."
uh-oh....you said a word in the grid. That's a no-no
Hello, Luv I finished in less than an hour (allowing for tea braks)
ad5/24, am5/16 help!! please
*breaks
Golly - you are so very clever. But then we always knew you had the brains in the family
ad 5/24 - change the last letter of the other ad5
Well you got the looks, and Marianne worked hard all her life - still going at it, I guess.
Ooh - you say the nicest things. :)
am5 --am + ent---
Yeah, but you still have trouble opening gates!
Yes well - I cant be the pretty one and be expected to manage difficult things like gate openings now can I?
Lee Ann Womack
BabbleRabble - is that a clue, or reminding my sister of her favourite song?
the latter
Thanks Babble Rabble. I need all the help I can get here and reminding me of my very favourite song is good.
Hi, I need am5 for fireworks please. lawyer, thanks for the clue, but not getting it :(

Congrats, mummy
Printing off the grid and taking it to bed with my coffee. Congrats to all of you clever folks who have finished.
Good to meet you BabbleRabble. Good night!
Good hunting, jhb
Came back for a quick look - found another few words - think I'll leave 8 for tomorrow. Not as difficult as I thought - but did resort to list with 15 left! Enjoy your day / evening / night.
Be well, Lizlin
Hello, Haz. I wish you well.
How disappointing
I'm sorry, BabbleRabble, I normally play with chat closed, I've just seen your greeting.
What I thought. I am leaving too. This place is too toxic for me.
I entirely understand. It's how I feel as well.
Stid is going as well
I suspect there are others but I don't know for sure.
Must go... I appreciate your integrity, Haz.
Thank you, BabbleRabble. Be well.
And back to chat covered up.
good morning. anybody here?

very true
and now it's time to fix DH's apero. See you lter, 12 oto go
bye for now
the first word my eyes fall upon in ti4/6, which descibes this grid!
lol
It's the other word from that one i am struggling with.
it's ti5/12, little tents (not the common spelling)
Many thanks!
8-D
bottom two rows all done, woot!
NBT, woot!
Go Gwen!
aw gee thanks
8-)
Hello Gwen & Zooz
hello again
funny little grid, 40 words this AM
am I alone again?
hi ruby
hello smores. I am going on my little weekend in London, in partial thanks for your support and encouragement
YAY ruby
I am very ahppy
{ruby}
ti4 and pa4 were my 1st 2 words....lol
very descriptive of the grid today
earlier, people were saying it was a snap
I have 40 words with nothing else in sight
I just started - only have 15
and, evidently, there was some sort of brouhahah earlier; someone described it as "toxic" but I am too lazy so go back and read the chog
lol...
I hate it when people argue or get nasty in the chog. It should be a pleasant, safe place
agreed...
disagreements dont' have to be nasty
I can't imagine that sort of ill-feeling. When I'm online and it happens, I try to change the subject
A quick visit before bed! Hi Ruby and Smores - hope you're both well. Glad to see you've booked your visit, Ruby. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time.
for the most part I think this is a very pleasant and safe place
it will be great to have a break from here
Lots of people are using the word toxic! I'm totally bewildered by it - find it a friendly place.
that's how I feel, smores. The support and friendship in here is terrific!
are* (toxic grammar -- lol)
I've only got 5 words left - saving them for tomorrow (how sad!) Any clues needed?
hiya liz
I have 11 left but they're a little of this, a little of that
no thanks liz, just getting started
The whole grid was a little of this, a little of that. I thought it was hard when I started but it just seemed to get easier. A couple of weird words but not many.
just so darn ti4
this is the smallest I've ever seen
Certainly is ti4 - smallest I've seen too but I've not been playing much longer than you!
I think the large grids are more fun and possibly more challenging. Certainly more weird words.
It's disappointing only to have 5 words to look for tomorrow!
down to 9
for me, the large grids are more fun, something to play with
I like around 200 or so
What time is flip for you?
1am
8!
It's 4 pm here - since US clocks changed, so it usually works well - do some in the afternoon, some in the evening and some the next day! Oh well! This is unusual!
Go Ruby!!!
7!
6!
monkeys are lying on the floor, panting
LOL!!! I'll hang around a little longer to see if you get fireworks!
lol ruby, give them a banana
heck I can't seem to wake my monkeys up..lol
5
It's pretty early for them smores - wouldn't so much be my monkeys as my brain!
yeah, I think I need more coffee

Sounds about right!
FINISHED! VERY EXCELLENT!
Yay Ruby!

ruby, did I tell you about Watson
Love all the animal icons
gm, everyone! go ruby!!
Hi lbd
morning dawger :)
no, bichon. Is it M and P and Watson?
hi Liz, hi smores!
hi IBD
No, Watson is our Shih Tzu foster dog. I am fattening him up
Like Hansel and Gretel??? Joke!!!
not for dinner, I hope! (the Chinese eat chow chows -- unfortunately named)
I know Liz. He was found wandering around, emaciated and blind due to matted hair.
Awwwww!!!! I'm glad you found him.
hi ruby! oh noes...dogs should never be on the menu. :-(
fostering a pet is the best of all possible worlds.you save a animal, help out the shelter and get a wide variety of pets in your home..assuming you can give them up when the time comes for them to go to their forever home
Oh! say it ain't so ruby!
that is wonderful that you can rehabilitate him! How do M and P feel about that?
I didn't find him, but he was given to a rescue organization I am affiliated with.
I am stuck on the last p! it has 4 letters
M&P don't seem to care. Watson is getting a lot of our attention. He is a joy
is it the odd one that's really similar to the ay$?
ay4 that should be
<-- loves liz!!!!! FW for the first time in ages and ages
Well, bichon, glad you're looking after him
whoooo hoooooo RUBY!!!
yaa for ruby!!
Yeah ruby and hi crossy.
Congrats Ruby. Now I can go to bed happy and hope that the cockatoos and kookaburras don't decide to wake me at 4 am!!!!!
even though she is ignoring poor crossy today
YAY Ruby!!!! WTG !!!!!

am5
I have one am5 (friendship) are there 2?
and now it is time for the much requested, beloved, often imitated but never duplicated crossys tidbit of the day!!!!'
The metal band that joins the eraser to a pencil is a called a "ferrule." It is also the same name of the metal band at the end of a cane.
one am5, 2 ad5, one ai5
would be a good name for a metal band - a metal rock band :)
not geting the am5 friendship clue
think of the town from the movie, the *****ville Horror
am5ville horror
there is an am4 friendship
^5 dan
am5 anyone? my last word

OMG, FIREWORKS - YAY
Restaurant chains like Applebee’s and T.G.I. Friday’s have their staff sing a specialized song to wish customers a happy birthday in order to avoid paying royalties, since "Happy Birthday to You" is a copyrighted tune.

Dammit! Dammit is accepted.
yes but too short! after a nice full week last week at work, now i'm back to nothing to do. i was hoping for a nice big grid to pass the time.
you forgot the "not", judi
at least one over 100 would've been nice
this is the smallest I've seen
We had one with 26 words once
So I did. *guzzles more coffee*
wow uu that's crazy
lol...Judi
Belated good morning. Heavens. Where are my manners.
Dammit Judi, where are they?
lol...
Good Morning :)
clue for pa 6/27 please?
something like pa5/12
messy pa5 job
thank you! last word :)
well done!
YAY ken!!!
Oh, I'm having deja vu. Dammit was in the grid. Someone mentioned it. People started saying dammit this and dammit that as a joke. And...you guessed it...someone thought they were being cussed at and got offended. Just goes to show how jokes here can be completely misunderstood sometimes.
I just started, I have 26 left. I was also hoping for a big grid, I've got some procrastinating to do at work today :)
The hell you say?
Yeah, it's unfortunate, dammit.
lol
WTH - really - no sh**?
I swear like a sailor
Jack Bauer said it all the time on "24".
*Sigh* I miss Jack Bauer.
Words can be both friend and foe..and here we don't have the benefit of tone for inflection. I'm glad no one can hear me curse this grid today!
Dammit mael that's just wrong
Me too, Molly.
lol mimi
My husband and I would count the "dammits" whenever we watched 24.
I should have watched more TV, dammit
that's funny Judi
i'm deeply offended that the word isn't accepted.
What's really funny is, on his new show, "Touch", he also says "dammit" all the time.
speaking of 24, Homeland's a damn good show these days
I love that show
dammit,still 17 more to go;)
That's because it is spelled damnit.....don't ask how I know this.
dammit I'm out of coffee...brb
Dammit Mimi, I wish you did.
I've seen it both ways, dammit!
Now y'all are just being silly.
it shouldn't matter how it's spelled. all forms should be accepted.
dammit
Mael, just ordered the first season of Homeland from Netflix. Have been hearing how good it is. They also have all seasons of Northern Exposure.
I'm way too frustrated by this grid so early in the AM my time---gonna take a break and try later. Don't like feeling inept. Bye to all.
ok, back with a fresh cup
these small ones can have sharp little teeeth
later, mimi!
tc mimi
bye for now mimi :)
lol...crossy
Fireworks!
15 to go and still no NBT:(
yaa for judi!
grids are like dogs huh?
And all on a deficite of coffee. *BONK*
WTG Judi!!!
<----sends Judi a cuppa joe
some are like dogs, some are like pazuzu from the seventh circle of hell and i do not know wether to play them or get a priest over to sprinkle it with holy water
;-)
lol...
the 744 is a prime example of an evil grid
I wasn't around for that one
That is evil. Let's all get together and type the whole dictionary for fun!
my favs are around 200
200-300 are my faves
mine too, cross
this one is just waaay too small
Ditto, Crossy. Anything more is too tedious. One must get on with one's life.
somewhere i have a screen shot of the 744 if you want to have a go at it lool
funny though, I mentioned earlier, my 1st two words were ti4 and pa4
*shudderrs* That would cause post traumatic grid disorder.
did you finish it?
hehe
no,i did not
got into it to about 425 or so
Phffth. I would never even come close to finishing a monster like that.
me either Judi
I'm off to get on with my life (a/k/a "work"). See you kids tomorrow! *POOF*
tc judi
bye judi!
bye Judi, enjoy your day :)
You can see the 744 grid by going to the archives for Apri 21, 2012.
Thanks Molly, I'll check it out. :)
13,761 points to finish it. And no, I didn't.
wow...lol
I never knew you could look them up. Cool it includes chat log, bet there were some interesting comments that day. :)
Love your profile for the day Molly.
I don't even think I got half way, which would have been a nice 6000 points or so. I would have had to sit at the computer for 12 straight hours and I just don't have that in me. Plus, there is a life to be led and all that.
There is no way I would could have done it.
Maybe I'll save it though, work on it when we have grids like today. :)
teehee would could..wow I'm really with it today..lol
So grids do go from the mealy (today) to the outlandish (744). Fortunately most of them are in between.
*measly
someone said earlier there was one that was only 26
this is the smallest I've seen
A word of caution if you really do try to work that grid. The "View Word List" feature, gives you the whole word. It's not like Lickety.
clue for far right t please
nm got it
Hi all
howdy hego
hello friends. center t -- ty, th, t?
LOL...Molly, just read through some of the chat, hilarious. Thanks for the word list tip

hi jmc, yes more phantoms than words today :)
another phantom: aphid
teehee I just tried that
crossy - btw....review friday did NOT go particularly well, but much was aired, anyway
haha you made my point smores
the unfortunate name of a famous daughter of a Texas governor and heir to Texaco fortunes is in the grid
apathy, python, midst, sympathy, path, paths, tympani, mama, whew!
go trif go exorcise those phantoms!
tile stats look odd, over 1/2 are 0/0
out out damn phantoms!
Dammit
plus now I want a Pimms.....
i greyed the 4th row
lol....WTG jmc...woohoo
:-D
there's no stopping jmc when she's on a tear!
we celebrate our victories where we find them
I found an opera heroine
:)
no one going to guess the governor's daughter?
but all this is doing us no good at all. lol
no idea jmc
i'll give you a clue. . .the governor was governor Hogg
I found her too hego - but she was no help
blank
Ima!
and aida
yeah but as small as this one is....why not
ding ding ding Trif wins
lol
YAY!
and she was an only child. . .no sister named Ura
And now we're playing an entirely different game!
shoulda been twins
*throws confetti on Trif*
i always play several games here
especially on small grid days.
oof. if this game was "find the phantom" I would have a gold medal! nymph, pita, ninth, axiom, arrrrgh
yes, you would.
let's not leave out; divot, divots stride, drive, dive, admire
ooh, well done smores!
apathy,empathy, path
she can't stop!
9 to go...haven't seen a firework since god was a boy, so I want to keep at it, but time is fleeting....
and all the ism's....lol
Go Trif!!
as in GO hego?
okay, I'm done now
maybe you should stop listing the phantoms? ;-)

TY!
yes crossy, I guess so. I don't want to work there full time summers. I think it's time for me to concentrate on moving on
Are you home today? Once I get Matt out the door, can I call you so we can catch up?
I am home and not home. is ace hardware open today?
and now a special crossy tidbit of the day just for car who is tardy today:)
Not sure. Give 'em a call first.
and the kids have NO IDEA about what I have been up to online, so if they are around I can't talk at all
The sailfish (the fastest swimming fish, clocked at 68 mph) is faster than the cheetah (the fastest land animal, clocked at 62 mph).
{[crossy}}
Oooh! come here then when you go to the hardware staore!
*store
i may indeed!
Oh myyyyy! Talking in person!!!!
Sailfish are so cool! Is it faster than a Mako?

Congrats Zoozzoom!
yaa for zooz!
woohoo!! zooz!!!
i wish I hadn't said anything....now your estimation of my intelligence will plummet as I struggle for an age to find one word
All that little effort for 526 pts ..lol
no way Trif....I do it all the time...lol
You can do it, Trif!
i never look at the rankings so i sweat blood on little buggers like this just as much as i do the monstor grids
lol

I think the smaller ones are harder.

Good morning Steve!

Stats for the second T on the bottom please? I have ti 4/6
NM.. Monkeys found it.

nice to see a whole grid greyed. can't remember the last time I finished one. MONTHS ago, anyway. nice to have a day to babble, a laptop to babble on, and the time
go car go!!
I still 1 A from that left side....

No! Not S's...A's!
ay4,ax4,ai4x2
Ty smores! It was the other ai 4.
Crossy...where did you go? How are you doing over there?
are there any py words?
Hello Norwell sisters!
Hello Scrabs!!!!!
there is 1 py
I am Miss Cranky Pants this morning so am here to chill and cheer up.
Ty tee_jay! And good morning!
Oh no Scrabs! Anything you would like to vent? I am here to listen....
Hi TJ
yw. good morning all!
Got it!
hi tee, scrabbler
Too much tragedy and sadness recently. Then mother calls, dwells on silly details that somehow matter to her, and I am ready to scream.
Hi Smores
ok, im off to look for stuff for todays project. Might see you in a bit, okay car?
:( sorry scrabbler
sith
Can't wait! See you soon!
Free Clue!
Bye Trif, enjoy your day and congrats again :)
(pours Scrabs a cup of tea, sets back massage on, and fills up foot soak tub with warm water....)
I do not want to be a whiner, but it takes extreme patience to deal with my mother and I already spent yesterday with her.
I'll trade you my visiting m-i-l for your mom, Scrabbs, and guarantee I'll get the better end of that deal ;)
I am a "big picture" person and she focuses on details and not the big picture. Maybe I will be like herwhen I am 81 too.
Hello ch1212. Hang in there!
Mine doesn't focus on anything positive ... (thanks, car!)
not whining scrabs, this is a great place to vent
Hi ch--you are probably right. At least I know how to handle my mother.
hope the rest of your day goes better
how long is she visiting ch1212?
Since my father died in April I increasingly see what a saint he was for being married to her for 53 yrs.
lol...scrabs
FIREWORKS!
WTG car!!! woohoo :)
We take them to the airport this afternoon. Then breathe and relax :). Actually, they are not bad people, just very ... sad, and negative. {{ gentle bunny hugs to you scrabbs }}
hurrah for car!
ok... I need to scoot. Scrabs/Ch1212...I feel your pain and my thoughts are with you.
bye car - enjoy your day {hugs}
Have a great day everyone! {{hugs}} all around!
Thanks, car -- happy day! {{ }}
howdy scrabbs,i am also a big picture person.i place problems into compartments in my mind and open them in a triage manner.my mrs on the other hand sees the world as a blanket that is slowly unravelling and she must be there to redo the stitches on a million loose knots
I need to go as well, hang in there Scrabs, go cuddle a bunny and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day :)
crossy, your analogy is well put! Bye, smores. I will need to scoot too very soon, as they will be up and about.
My brain is similar to yours, Crossy. I have a reductionist approach--I reduce issues into their simplest form and set aside minor details.
my son at 18 is even worse.if there is nothing wrong or no current disaser he will hunt till he finds or creates one.he is a ball of pure teenage angst
sounds like it scrabby.i deal with one problem at a time then move one
... And she's up. Later all. {{ hugs and support }}
tc chch
minro issues ceased to matter to me some time ago also
minor
Personality differences are fascinating yet frustrating.
Good for you, Crossy.
they are indeed.we will be eating breakfast and the mrs will already be wondering about what i have planned for dinner for example lol
i know whats for dinner about 20 minutes before i start making it :)
is the 7 a familiar word?
it is tad tad obscure but quite findable
im 7/36
Monkey found it but new word for me
dair
Not a word. Don't bother trying it. Monkey is struggling to find words.
i used to be a type A 6 starbucks a day overwound detail fixated middle management asshole scrabs, but things that blindside you in live reprioritize things in a hurry:)
too late..tried it
life
Yes, adversity, challenge and especially life-threatening issues can make one see what really matters, or can make people sad, negative, bitter.
hi again all!
yes,i went through a refining process hehe
suze!!~
crossy!!
Me too, Crossy, though different than yours.
Sue, how is Frank?
how is frank today?
snap
he is doing ok. A fair amount of nausea. The epidural has his pain pretty well under control except when he moves.
They gave him some lasix this morning so he is peeing like crazy.
well,it is good they have the pain management under control anyways
Post-op recovery sucks. I had 5 abd/pelvic surgeries.
ouch
Also his nasogastric tube decided to come out; he doesn't miss it but if it needs to go back in he is going to be one unhappy camper.
Opiates cause nausea and dizziness too.
We saw the surgeon briefly this morning; he will meet with us this afternoon.
NG tubes are cruel torture
well, he doesn't have systemic opiates, just the epidural.
It sounds like you have a gem of a surgeon--changing his weekend plans to get this surgery done.
refresh my memory.ng tubes go where?
He was great, scrabs (he still went away but left later than planned).
through the nose into the stomach, crossy
ugh
Ugh is right. And getting one inserted while awake is pure torture.
My almost 90 yr old uncle ripped his NG tube out last week moments after it was inserted for a partial bowel obstruction. Of course he earned himself the label of "in need of restraints" and had the tube reinserted.
lol,i MUST sleep on my side or choke.restrain me and i will tear the bed apart lol
I am sure you are strong as a bear, Crossy, but my uncle was easily restrained
roar!:)
saw a pic of your miss bea this morning scwabby!
The one where she met Jaxson?
she has large eyes for a rabbit
yup
She has large brown eyes.
hi crossy, Scrabbs, sue and all
howdy aloy
Hi Professor Merganser
popping in to peek at the grid, glad it is small bc I have some things to do before I can relax with Babble.. on the other hand, think I'll enjoy a cuppa and your company before I poof.. reading back.. Scrabbs, are you ok? was off the screen when someone said "hang in there" for you
Just cranky and holding back tears. I should let them flow, I guess, but I am not a crier.
oh.. sending cyber hugs your way, but then that is when I break down and let them flow.. probably a good thing.. sorry you are having a sad time!
guess I can't complain about my split lip and broken front tooth.. ugh.. a fall in the bathroom before I left Ohio
NOOOO! Getting a crown soon?
poor aloy:((
see the endodontist tomorrow.. $$$$
meanwhile, can't smile (stretches lip) and look like the puppet on Kookla Fran and Ollie
indeed.reminds me when steve martin played the s&m dentist
funny skit!
Been there, Aloy--head injury, broken tooth, root canal, crown....
poor bill murray kept coming back for more
oh geez, Scrabbs.. hockey injury?
5
took half an hour to find that word:(
wtg, crossy
oh oh, which word, crossy?
LOL.. spell it out
I wish, Aloy. Nope--I fainted, slammed head, broke 2 teeth, got concussion...probably what triggered migraines that have plagued me for 30 yrs
4
(I didn't say that, I just thunk it)
oh dammit (I checked, that is not a word).. so sorry Scrabs.. my most painful self injury was last Dec. when I fell backwards and broke all the ribs in my lower left back.. that was a killer
23...struggling
funny what can cause migraines.mrs is plagued with them yet i was run over by a car.both legs broken in 2 places each, concussion and bleeding out of the ears and get about one headache a year..i should count blessings
I recall that, Aloy.
holy cow, crossy.. glad you are still here!
though i often try to wear my pants as a hat lol
aloy, nothing can kill me i think lol
don't make me smile (-:
knowing me i will perish after slipping on something as mundane as a banana peel
what? impy is no good either
must be impish
mity
Another free clue from me. I am being generous today.
aha.. ty, Scrabs
3 car incidents, went through the ice on lakes twice,3 cancers and a close call on a hunting trip..seems i am more like a bear than you think scrabby lol and i am sure something silly shall make me shuffle off this mortal coil :)
sending healthy cookies to PB
upping crossy's insurance policies too
crossy takes small bits so as not to aspirate death cookies...
Like the random accident that killed an acquaintance yesterday. Sheila was walking on a bike/hike path yesterday when a drunk motorcyclist lost control, killing her and another woman.
good lord:(
oh noooooooo... Life is not Fair!
Just when you think you are safe from a drunk
horrible, so ... no words
one day we shall all get together, get drunk and compare scars to see who has the most/longest/ugliest
ok, it is a deal
Her husband is seriously injured but to recover at 79 when you learn your wife is dead--not so easy.
i think i can win for longest..how long is an average c-section scar scrabby?
Crossy, I do not want to see at least one of your scars.
but can you show all your scars, crossy, without making us blush?
it is sad indeed scrabby
Scrabbs, no wonder you are weepy.. I am
4-6 inches, Crossy.
i can show most of them, there are about 4 i cannot
you had a C-section, crossy? (confused look)
oh i have that beat all to hell and back.the one on my left leg runs from my anlke bone to just above the kneecap ;))
My lower abdomen has scars in shape of a crucifix starting below the belly buton
no aloy, just did not wish to lose to a c-section scar
oh my, I see
Crossy really is a medical miracle--he had a C-section!
yes,it was a 5 lb 5 oz wolf
that is what I thought too, Scrabbs.. either that or he is not telling us something
And you breastfed your wolf pup, right?
Middle T word please?
making me smile folks
hell wioth that, those teeth are sharp
stimp stump stomped
Well, women do it everyday with toothed babes.
i am sure i have it scrabby but can never tell what comes from where
I tried stimp and stimpy
must be ti 4/5
about the time of the first bite, I thought about weaning
ah yes, mes am4
when we first brought the kitten home from the shelter i was on the couch having a power nap and he curled up on my belly for s sleep.well,he woke up before i did and must of had a moment of confusion because i woke suddenly to the sensation of the kitten trying to nurse off my left man-boob lol
I finally found t4/5--alternate spelling for Indian dwelling
this will work that split lip aloy hehe
HAHAHA, Crossy!
have that but missing a bunch of 4's
LOL, fortunately I can laugh digitally
Was your nipple amputated?
nope but his nose sure was cold there for a second
Oh, mother just called AGAIN...
Kiss little Amos for me.
one way to get your mother to back off a tad scrabby. everytime she calls go into great detail about some great kinky sex you are currently having(even if you are not atm) the call will be short i promise
amos is now 7 months old and not so little
She would never believe me. She knows I have led a nun's life.
give a tom of telemarketers her number to keep her busy?
ton
Gotta get ready for hiking. Phone has speaker on so I will let her ramble.
well, enjoyed chatting with you both but must go and come back to find the last 13.. so ciao for now, have the best day possible! poof
give up the phone and only do skype and e-mails?
tc aloy

i LOVE SHORT GRIDS.
hi all, it's been a bit like Grand Central Station in Frank's room today!
Congratulations mkg on your fireworks display! Way to go!
we had several friends visit, plus the nutritionist and the ostomy nurse (not the surgeon yet, though)
Hello uusue2! How are you doing? Welcome to the chat log
I am doing reasonably well, min. How are you?
I hope all of the visits didn't wear out Frank too much.Nice to have people supporting you guys a time like this though
He's actually pretty energetic right now; he really thrives on visitors.
and you are right, our friends are amazing.
I ad5/14 to using the list to complete such a ti 4/6 grid. I'm saving my last word so here is a story of clues. When my brother was a teenager he got a di4/5 bike from my dad. My brother was so sm 4/5ten with it, he rode it for hours every day.One day,my brother rode it on some da 4/7 muddy roads. He fell off his bike & had back pa 4/5 after that.He came home and got grime & mud all over the wooden floor. The floor was pa 5/12ed with mud. I felt bad for our ma4/6 who had to clean it all up.It was not a si4/5le job to do because mud got into the cracks of the wood. I hope you have found some ma 4/5 words with this story.I'm going to go watch a Will Sm5/12 film
I am glad you guys had a good day.I am off to make dinner
see you later, min!
Just checking in to see if there was Sue and Frank news. Glad to hear Frank is having a good day.
back to finish up, busy day.. hi everyone.. hope the visitors were a perk for Frank, sue.. with some rest and the help of his friends, his spirits will rise
Hello all...back to finish also..

The small ones are sometimes the most time consuming!
yup, finding some "goodies"

Morning all - final 2 words to go!
hi liz!
1 to go!!!!
go liz go!!!
fw!!!!!
whoo hooo liz!
Odd grid - found it hard when I started but it got easier!
up and down for me
fortunately most of the words are short
If you want any help ... yes, that was another odd thing!
stats for the last M word. . . i have the housekeeper and the scottish more and pl
mi 4/ 7 - very similar to the pi 4 / 7
It's a m4 you can't find it. Make the p4 and m4.
Or an m4
wow i never would have found that! ty liz and molls
back for my last 4:)
Agree with the sentiments of your icon, Molly!
Hi again crossy - go crossy go!
I was going to clue it with Walter, but who knows who is familiar with him.
howdy liz
i would. . . i am a big thurber fan
Thanks Liz. It's sad that people see the glass as half empty.
I'd've spelt it with a double!!! Don't know how it's really spelt!
I really don't understand why people would get upset - or more importantly, why write things that might upset.
haha i have a friend who sees the glass as di**y!
the story has a double liz
I'd rather just drink it!
i have upset people with things that i write but it has never been intentional. . .
I remember thurber stories from a long time ago. My parents introduced me to them.
I think those that live in the negative see the glass as di4y and half empty. And if that is all they can see, more the pi4 for them.
i loved the show my world and welcome to it with william windom
I don't think people ever mean to upset others - if they do, they shouldn't be here! I agree again.
I think that sites like babble are meant for fun. People get to know each other and talk freely (well, reasonably so) but really it's about the game and fun chat!
i always assume the best or the funniest meaning of whatever anyone says
Me too - some people get offended by innuendo, I think.
yes i hate the comment pages where they people are always saying "you are so stupid as usual. . . " etc
dinner tonight is spagettini aldente with home made sauce with sweet itallian sauage, peppers and red onions and a large garlic cheese crusty loaf and a simple greek salad coooome and git it!
i have checked with people with kids on and they say my innuendo doesn't worry them. . . kids mostly don't get it and really it is mild compared to TV these days
Innuendo and sarcasm are forms of adult humor. And I don't care what anyone says, this is not a game for kids.
sounds yummy! But it's a bit far and I don't think I want garlic at 9.45 am - though almost any other time it's yummy!
i eat garlic at anytime of the day!
lol, sorry liz forgot you are just tucking into brekkies about now\
Some adults don't like innuendo and sarcasm - couldn't live in our house!
so whats the weather like tomorrow liz? hehe
Mango, strawberries, kiwi fruit. Scrambled eggs and toast. And of course a large mug of freshly ground coffee! Just the thing!
we are due for snow flurries here tonight\
The weather "tomorrow" is wonderful! Blue skies and sun. Warmer than yesterday!
there was a kiddy show on tv in houston when i was growing up . . . Kitirik the Cat. . . and she was always making grown up jokes which went zing over the heads of the kids watching. . .but she had a good time
Brrrrr!
I believe Playschool in Australia did that - so my husband tells me!
these last 4 words are thumbing their nose at me
Want clues????
and i loved reading pogo as a little kid and then an older kid and then a teen and then an adult because i kept getting more and more jokes. . .
There is a great and easy feature of this chat, the ability to turn it off. Works great if you are not interested/offended by what is being discussed.
not quite yet i have one a one p and a pair of s words
lol!
The s words were my last!
i could use the i words not related to the islamic teacher
I bet I know which p word!!!!
Have you got the i7?
i + what you put on the wall with a brush
yup
no im7?
tyty
on a one p and a pair of s words\
Yes - as Molly clued!
The other is a bit like a naughty sprite
go crossy go
Good clue Liz.
Go crossy!
Go jmc
im4 or 5?
im4
hmmmm
ends in a vowel
Rhymes with Popeye's gladly pay you Tuesday friend.
ty
haha there were jokes in popeye i didn't get the first time either. . . .
I remember watching Popeye - but not the content. Haven't seen it in aeons (so good to be able to use the word!!!)
not to mention the time i laughed out loud in russian history class when i finally got a rocky and bullwinkle joke
<===a little slow on the uptake at times
Never saw that show
Cartoons for people "our age" were full of adult innuendo.
if you get a chance you should watch it liz. . . one of the all time great cartoons
i still enjoy it.
I'll look out for it on the cartoon channel! I guess never having had kids ( though I taught them) I never saw the cartoons as an adult, that I saw as a kid.
That was one of the many fun things about having kids. Watching them laugh at and enjoy the same cartoons I enjoyed as a kid.
I'm sure - I shared that with friends and and nephews!
funny i can remember all the lines from every warner bros cartoon from the bugs bunny road runner show from the 50,s right trhough to 1985 when they startd editing them but cannot remember what i ate for dinner last night
Love the real laughter of kids
the new looneytunes are quite interesting
I agree Liz, that is one of the best sounds in the world.
lol!!!! As long as you know what you're eating last night!!!!!
<==has a very low standard of tv watching
and the early merry melodies toons
it is a good sound. . .
One of the best newspaper cartoons I ever saw was the one that ran the day after Mel Blanc died. All the Looney Tune characters were standing around his grave and there was a empty bubble coming from their mouths.
i liked betty boop because she always had jazz. . . louis armstrong and cab calloway among others. . . but the drawing it too racist now. . . its a shame because they were often quite thoughtful
i did not see that one molls
yes,mel blanc was the voice of cartoons
but chuck jones was their brain!
okay 8 left bbl
Yay jmc!
May I please have a clue for am5-16? Thanks
am + the c*** mouse and the country mouse
Thanks so much, Molly. That was the last one for this grid. Would like a larger grid....just not one of the 700 + words...LOL
Clue for ad5/24 please?
Pl the ad5-14 above it.
amrap
...oops .. wrong mouse
Wrong.... ad + trail***.
ad + ginger ale and soda are ***ers at a bar
See y'all at the flip.
So many mice, so little time.
be well, gapeach
Still can't get it
ad + the babies were given to the wrong parents, it was a ***up.
Uses the high tile at the end.
GOT IT!!! Tx
hi all!
Hi Sue
the surgeon thinks Frank might be ready to go home tomorrow night - I think this is a bit too soon and plan to lobby for Wednesday, but he really is doing quite well.
Hi everyone.
The grid is so small I can barely see it!
Of course, we'll have to see how he does without the epidural, ingesting actual food, and whatnot.
hi via!
Good news, Sue
Hope it all goes well. I'm sure Frank is anxious to get home.
I'm sure it will. We'll have home nurses come help with complicated things like the ostomy bag (which I am in no way ready to deal with myself yet)
but it is pretty exciting!
Ah, the things we do for love. : )
He feels bad about "putting me through all this" but I pointed out that "in sickness and in health" (which we haven't said explicitly but which is certainly true for us) means exactly that.
how many words please?
52
:(
ty
It's all part of the package Sue, and I'm sure he would do the same for you, if the situation were reversed.
I know he would, Molly (and has although I wasn't nearly so sick).
done! wow that was fast...
personal record!
take care everyone -- see you next time -- tons more work to do tonight :P
It's a wham, bam, thank you ma'am kind of grid.
The nurse are a great resource ... each procedure requires individual solutions for skin irritation, a correct seal and other considerations to make the process more viable .... Mayo Clinic deals with some the considerations: http://tinyurl.com/bdpjgaf
Good evening Babblers.
it is indeed, Molly. but so long as there are fireworks at the end, I don't complain...
Yahoo!!! Sparklers for moi! Tks for all your great clues -- could never have done it alone! Sweet dreams, kids!
Not sure if you're still online Sue, but good to read that Frank is doing well - long may this continue :)
Hi Wht
Via...I hear ya about the fireworks at the end. : P
Love the quick grids
Is jmc still around?
ooh, a wee liddle one today
Hello to my fellow babblers! How is everybody doing today?
thanks for the link, BR!
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! Way to go!
Poor grid. It's probably taking offense at being picked on because of it's size. : P
and thanks, Liz!
Hi Min.
who's picking? I'm cooing at the cute.
I like what you wrote in your profile MollyL. So true.I do not think that I have EVER been bothered by people say in the chat log. I might disagree to some things but not the point where it bothers me.Love being in Babbleland
me too, min!
And most people do Min. : )
Hi all! Just finished another writing stint and then came in here to see if anyone was chatting/wanting clues etc. I saw what Crossy asked about what had upset Haz & BR not long after I signed in during the UK afternoon. I had a look at it and I don't know either, but can guess, given that Stid had posted something in her profile days before. Don't kid yourselves that words can't hurt because they can, which is why I mostly stay away from chat now, too However, if you can be in chat at the 'right' times, it's fine.
It's a real pity that cliques exist on here, but they do.
I still love Babble and babblers; they are even better in person than online! Sometimes people are not in the best of moods; usually I can overlook that. If I find myself getting annoyed I go do something else for a while.
anyway, hi jac, it is good to see you!
Me, too, Sue, but some thing are unforgiveable.
Hi Sue! How is your hubby doing? Any more news since what I saw on FB?
(((jac))) sorry if you have run into such things here. That really is too bad.
I tried to comment in the Babble group when he was about to go in for his op but FB wouldn't let me leave a comment, probably 'cos you'd done it from your mobile.
ntb
nbt, i mean
Hello Jess.
ah, well, I really appreciate the thought, Jac. He is doing really well.
Was never "cool" enough to be included in cliques so I'm used to not being part of certain cliques, not that I need to be part of one.Not sure about cliques in Babbbleland
Glad to hear it, Sue. Hope you have his post-op meds sorted, too?
Not yet. Lots of things are going to happen tomorrow.
<--- also never was cool
Min cliques abound, sadly.
fireworks!
yay sue!
Congratulations uusue2 on your fireworks! Hooray for you!
I nver thought I was cool at school until I went to the 25-year reunion and found out I WAS! I wish I'd known at the time. lol
Well done Sue!! *~*~*~*~*
We also have to sort out home health care, the next steps in cancer treatment, when to schedule surgery to install the port he will need for the chemo, what he can eat....
WooT WooT WooT uusue
I will be taking lots of notes.
and hello minv, jac, jes et all!
I've enjoyed getting to "know" everyone over the past couple of weeks since I started. I'm kind of housebound since my heart attack and I feel like I have company here. Thanks, all.
thanks for the WooTs, Jilly!
welcome to babble, mimicat :)
hi, mimi, I find babblers to be a wonderful set of people and have actually met several of them in person (where they are even more wonderful :-). I'm glad you found us.
I think you've had lots of advice here and on FB from former cancer patients, Sue? I hope the ride forward will be an easier one.
Thanks, jes! Now if I can just get as good at this as all of you are!
And nice to met you mimic@42! Glad the group has been helpfull to you. It always has been for me!
Much friendlier than on Boggle Bash.
you will, mimicat...i've had 5 years of playing to learn the weird words. :)
Hello Mimic, nice to meet you. Welcome the the mad, bad, kind, amazing world of Babble.
We have, Jac, and we also have some friends who have gone through similar surgeries. Two of the young people in our church have ostomies, and one of them came and visited today. That was very helpful for Frank.
Mimic, when I first started I was lucky to get 10-20 words...LOL...it does get better...
Hello Jillyjill! How are you doing? Welcome to the chat log
Yes, uusue, the ostomy is a real blow to one's body image, it was good to have someone he knew come by..
Hello Mimicat42! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.
I usually hit the wall at about 72 words when it's a bigger grid. I NEVER get 'em all.
Thanks, Min.
It certainly does get better. Jillyjill and Mimic! You'll find yourself playinmg Babblets in on-line and real life Scrabble before too long. :-)
I have been here since 1996 and I am STILL not as good as some of the babblers here. Still unable to babble sans list.
I am well minv, and how are you?
Yep, I find the flip crew to be MOST impressive!
Oh, I always use the list too, at least to finish. I don't always finish; I do try to get nbs, nbt, and more than half way, but to me the rest is gravy.
Min - never done one sans list yet? That is your New Year Challenge from me then. x
I don't even know what you guys are talking about when you refer to na6 and stuff like that. Totally lost. But I'm just doing this for fun anyway.
Well, going listless is pretty intimidating to me, I also beg for lists on non-lickety days
I think the flip crew are those who post clues too early for me? I avoid them, play with chat closed.
na6 would be a word starting with na, that has 6 letters
ah, jargon :-)
speaking of...clue for im7 please?
You'll catch on in no time mimic..
That is what matters most Mimicat42, that you have fun. If it becomes not so fun, then it is time to take a break. Can't take it too seriously and do not worry about the rankings.
Joins queue waiting for im word hey all
im + latex or watercolor
I try to never use a list but always post one when I finish if one has not already been posted.
hi stid!
On the ipad so must be listless for the moment
Hi stid :) *passes stid a bowl of lentil stew*
Thats two for me sue, thanks
Thanks, jes. Now that I've used my free trial, I don't even get the list anymore. Yep, Min, that's my feeling, too. Thanks for the support.
im7/36=im+pa5/12
im + wall colorer.
im 7/36 word is im plus artists ***** on a canvas jesdraggon
or too be covered in colored substance
Hi Stid!
thanks, that's fireworks :)
Hi (((stid)))
WooT WooT WooT jes!!
Congratulations jesdraggon on your fireworks! Good for U!
Hello stidmama! How are you doing? Welcome to the chog.
yay jes!
go here for a list that doesn't require a pay-in, mimicat http://r46.me/BabbleClues.html
Hey jac, and thanks jes. Wll share pork chops with quince chutney and potato pancakes when they are ready... Tyops free tonight
I am saving my last word stidmama. Did you finish this yet?
Mimic, we all would really support you going pro...the very best investment on can make!
And yay jaes!
oooh, pork chops sound yummy :)
No no, min. Not planning on finishing tonight. Just waiting formheadache meds to work then must pack my work bags in case I get a job tomorrow
Just finished a herbed baked tilapia with spinach salad and bread sticks...
There are 2 ways to be skillful in Babble, finding words and cluing. Unfortunately, I'm not very skillful at either one yet
N in the lower left corner please? My last for nbt
Sounds delish, jilly
me either minv, I learn a lot from Jacula who makes one work for the clues...
But you write amazing clue stories, min, which I alwasy enjoy
Incidentally, the im7/36 word does not feature in my real books Oxford or Cambridge dictionaries.
Change the first vowel of the California wine location.
Hm. Thanks wht
ni+come join the **rty
Thanks, all. I really do like everybody on the site. Right now this is fine for me. Maybe later I'll feel like going "pro." Am checking out for tonight. See you tomorrow!
Niters mimic...nice to meet you!
And thanks jilly.. Dont think i have seen that one before.
Appreciate the skillful cluers like BabbleRabble who pushes me to give better clues. I hope to learn more from others.
Swet dreams, mimicat
Jilly - lol. Sorry for making you work for the clues but the whole point of playing this game is to give your brain a workout and to learn new words and facts. Well, that's what it's about for me, plus making a few new friends.
Mimicat42, look at the word list. The first ad word has five letters and is worth 14 points ... the second ad word has 6 letters and is worth 24 points ... so, if someone asks for the stats for the first ad it would be ad 5/14 ..... look at Help above to see how the points are computed and other useful information.
Hey br. ((Hugs))
It's a type of palm...new one for me..I always try to look those new ones up..
hi BR!
Goodbye Mimicat42!I will see you tomorrow in the chat log
Down to 17 with nbt and nbs. Thanks for the boost, friends. See you another time. *poof*
In that case stidmama, I will enter my last word right now!
Hello
Thanks for the pointers, BR. Bye all.
Hello BR.x
night, stid!
bye, stiddy
and bye mimi!
I am finished! I have fireworks! ad5/24 was my final word.
Hello, Jac
yay min!
YAY Min!!! *smile*
Goodbye stidmama! I will see you tomorrow in the chat log
I know Jacula..I appreciate that...it should be a vocab expanding experience...
Bye, Sue--still holding a good thought for you and Frank.
WooT WooT WooT minv!!
thanks, mimi!
Story is in profile.I will also be here to help clue if needed.
and yay min!
'Night Stid, dormez bien.xx
I've madea few real life friends over the years I've being playing this game. Sadly, some have died. But I still maintain contact out of the game with others.
I do like the Babble community on Facebook...another chance to stay in touch
I am not good at making friends or maintaining friendships
I met eight other babblers (JillyJill, harpjane, bugsaw, stidmama, stidgmere, hego, jillibus, and nef) on my vacation this summer. It was an absolutely awesomely great trip, and I like them all very much. I've also separately met jmcnrick, dorens, and scrabbler, all of whom are also very wonderful.
Sue - that'ss great!
Well, min, how about if the next time I come to visit my dad in New Jersey, I come to New York and we have a cup of coffee?
I have not joined Babble on FaceBook yet. I'm here almost every day so don't see the need to.Not on FB much anyway
Oh, I would have to disagree with that minv....I also enjoy not only your creative stories, but your welcoming statements in chog...
You've made a friend in me!
Min - why do you think that is? I've been friends with you on here since the start.
I would LOVE that uusue2!Have a life long goal of meeting at least one babbler before I die. I would so love to meet U
Min - I know I used to tease you about yourstandard greeting when we first met, but I've got to know a different Min after that in the years that followed.
Min - join FB!
Our oldest son graduates in December 2013. I will be on east coast then (Norfolk VA). It'd be great to try and meet some of the east coast babblers. Not sure yet if we will pop up to see our youngest in MA..depends on weather
Like your icon Jillyjill. My life right now is one big question mark right now.Babble is an escape from my miserable life
(((minv))) I know, it has been for me, but it is getting better. It will for you too..(get better that is)
Oh, Min! So sorry to hear that! Please befriend me on Facebook,
And me too...Jill Deppel on Facebook...
any relation to Johnny Depp (el)
I'm just here because after I lost my Dad long, painfully and slowly to a form of senile dementia, I decided to play an on-line word game as well as doing my crosswords, quizzes and being a writer, to make sure I kept my mind active. I found a whole community of mostly lovely people to chat to, and it went from there.
yipes! gotta run, friend lost car keys and needs ride home...bbs...and RURU..don't I wish!!
ok, min, we are on!
Jillyjill - I think we are FB friends already?
Hello rururocks! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
Hi ruru.
hi min.. hi jax
jac
Min? Have you jusdt posted a real pic of you for you profile?
Jacula, my Dad e-mailed a link to this website, but I did not check out the game 'til about a year after he sent it to me. I knew I would get addicted to it. I was planning a wedding at the time and I knew that I had no time to be playing this game every day. So I joined a year later.
ruru - s'okay, I'm used to being called Jac, Jack, Jax, all sorts. lol
Min - that didn't answer my question. Is that a pic of you and will you please join FB and contact me.
I think that's Anne Hathaway, jac, if min is following her usual habit
and hi, ruru!
I found the link to this site in a Sunday supplement, tore it out because I thought it looked interesting, but didn't check it out until about 3 months later. When |I did check it out, I discovered it was a site I'd already been on years before.
Sue - well, if it's a fake pic again, I can't be doing with it any more. Yes, you need to be circumspect on the internet, but you can take it too far at times.
min often posts pictures of celebrities whose birthday is today, jac
sort of like I do the astronomy picture of the day
Oh, okay, Sue. I'm going to go off to bed now, writing quota for NaNoWriMo done. See you another time, all of you.xxxx
I think it is Anne Hathaway
I WISH that was a pic of me! I am no way near as pretty as Ms. Hathaway.Used to have a pic of me in my profile but I took it out because it was a wedding picture of me and my hubby. It may still be on my Flickr page though.
night, jac, hope to see you again soon!
it is still there, min
by the way, min, your doggies look very sweet :-)
I don't know uusue2. I NEVER go on my Flickr account so I guess it should be. I think once you post pics it stays there.
yes, I think probably you can remove them if you want to but I never have
Just have one dog uusue2. I wish I had more than 1 though
Ah. There is a gentleman in my department who has a pair of therapy dogs that look just like yours. They are very sweet.

Excerpt from magazine artice by Dr God Autumn 2005: "..............It became a place not only to talk about the game, but to swap stories about what players did last night, talk about movies, and even pass round recipes. If you're gong to create a gaming website, this kind of friendly community is a great thing to achieve. It gives players a reason to come back to the site more often and stay longer." ".... It was the Babble players, not me, who were responsible for transforming the entire spirit of Babble and making it into what it is today. Players began using the chat log to ask for and give clues to words. They even created their own Babble language to do so. Phrases like "Take the co6/27, drop the silent letter, and add 3 letters to the end - meaning and age or a period of time" became commonplace. The main goal of players was no longer to get the top score, but to finish the entire puzzle with the help of other players. What started as a competitive website slowly became one of peace, love, and cooperation." ".... One player, Brandyjack, even wrote his own script that would find all the words in a puzzle and spit back complete puzzle stats, which he would share with the other players by posting it to the chat log every morning. His daily puzzle stats soon became a fundamental part of playing Babble for most players. Players would clamour for it to be reposted all day long so that it would always be near the top of the chat log." Back by popular demand the one and only .. original .. Sorry! I was just looking at this in my archives and it just posted itself. The spirit of Babble. God bless FMitch. xxx
Amen..now back, and yes jacula, we are FB friends...I was referring to minv...great post by the great babble ghost jacula, we all need a reminder..
(((jac))) that is so great!
Yes, Jillyjill - I think we do all need a reminder at times. I didn't mean to post that but it got posted anyway. I'm assuminf Fiona wanted to bang all our heads together and so ghosted my computer.
She was right!
And if anyone posts anything like, 'but that was in the old days when families shivered in the cold and small children survived in cardboard boxes in shoip doorways and it is not relevant, I'll thump them!
Good point jacula! I'll be right behind you with a big stick!
I must go to sleep now. If FM wants to post anything else she'll have to do it without me.
that was back when we walked five miles to school through the deep snow and it was uphill both ways, right? ;-)
night, jac!
Niters Jacula!
Ahhh...I finally get to see my new icon..it always takes a day before I can see it...
Is that hill ahead the last peak of Everest? Dons crampons, assembles climbing ropes and attempts to climb the stairs where bed and a snoring man lie.xxx
Note to self: ask friendly surgeon for new knees and ankles before attempting this climb again.
Adding new hips to my list...oh, and lungs...
I have new knees, they're nice but they don't do everything the old ones did before they went bad
Good Evening Everybody! How are you all tonight? I just read back in the chog; thanks Jacula for reviving FM for us! :-)
Plants Union flag atop staircase, goes into bathroom and then crosses back to go to bed. WHUMPH! Aah! ZZZ
hi nef!
To all who served. Tips hat to those who survived and learned to thrive. My respect too to those did what they could.
Hello nef ((hugs))
hi sue; how's Frank?
improving quickly, nef!
Hello babblerabble! good thought btw...
Wonderful, sue! I've been sending healing thoughts and prayers his way...
hi BR and Jilly
his nose tube is out, he is eating clear liquids, the epidural should come out tomorrow morning
Great news; but he may be hurting more after that epidural is out.
yes, he is very nervous about that
they will give him oral medication but it is not at all the same
Hopefully they will have him take an oral med before they pull the epidural...and should have an option for IV pain med if needed.
true; but since he's been up and moving already; that will really help
well, his IV is still in so that should remain an option. And I had thought of leaving the epidural tube in, and will talk to them about that
tell him to ask for an oral pain med before they pull the epidural (preferably at least 3/4 hour before)
will do, nef, thanks
he should have the epidural out though; it's one more site for an infection if it's left in too long
yes, I know
Hello Nef! How are you doing today? Welcome to the chog.
hi Min; how are you tonight?
I am well. Finished grid not long ago and I am here to clue
it's a nasty grid
And how are things for you nef? and DH?
DH will be having his neck surgery Nov. 26th; my hand is healing well from my surgery Nov. 3rd. I have a new RN clinic manager I'm orienting and she's got both hospital L&D and clinic prenatal and OB/GYN experience. I'm happy
Yay!! Does that mean retirement for you?
good luck to your DH, nef, and I am glad you are healing well!
I'm imagining I'll be semi retired by the end of the month. (I'm going to be the RN manager of the whole prenatal program: Ultrasound, clinic and ChildBirth ED)
They used glue to close the incisions, and I don't see any scar on the 1 incision closest to my wrist
with a chatlog like this, who dares to be piddling and ask for a clue!!!
Yowsers! All I could think about when in Hawaii was how much I wish I could retire...
LOL, go for it naches girl!!
ay?
this will make you laugh, jill and nef - Frank has only just now learned that surgical staples are, in fact, staples! He was wondering what that metal was under his dressing...
ay + not out, naches
We can clue as well if needed...
I missed nursing though, Jilly. This new position is more like 6-10 hours/month; overseeing all the rules and regs.
ROFL..poor Frank, he may never be the same...best not to share my tales of the OR right now...
I keep forgetting it's also Hebrew!!!
Hello Naches girl! How are you doing? Welcome to the chog
sue, they ARE staples, just heavier than those from your office stapler.
That ay 4/6 word is ay plus the opposite of out Naches girl.
Well, maybe Nef, but part of it is wishing I had all the time to just be with my hubby while things are still good...
facing life's challenges, sometimes gracefully and today not so much!
(((naches girl))) there seem to be quite a few of those days going around...
I hear you, Jilly and understand. My ED says I should be able to do a good part of my job at home. We shall see on that... My DH and I planned to go to Missoula for a family wedding in 2010; he hasn't been well enough to travel even 100 miles since.
hi all
I know that, nef, I've had them more than once. Somehow Frank thought that "staples" was some kind of code name for something plastic. It was pretty funny when he realized that they were pretty much like regular staples (he didn't like the image of being stapled, even though it's already been done). Pretty funny.
I assured him that removing them is a real non-event (he had pictured something like pulling staples out of paper)
BUT, at the same time; you need to be away from your husband at times for your own sanity
(((naches))) we all have our non-graceful moments
I know, I also realized that I needed to find a friend I could unload some of my emotional garbage on..and I did, so am feeling better.
sue, I LOVE the surgical staple removers! They are pretty cool to use and they don't hurt the patient either
actually uusue, they have a little device that pops them out. They are not hooked together, so one liitle pressure in center pops them right off
I told him that it tickles a little but that's it (it's been a while but that's my recollection)
hi jmc. and naches girl, hi to you too
my boy had 14 staples in his head once
You are correct uusue...maybe a bit of a sting for some though..
I'm not sure he believes me, but he'll find out :-)
Poor little guy jmc!
i forget how many stitches. . . i was on first name basis with the pedi ER
jmc; WHAT did he do?
he was a rabble rousher and earned nearly every staple and stitch! haha
Well, need to take a brief break...brb
bye jilly
I had staples when I had my hysterectomy and for at least one of my knee replacements, didn't count them, though
bye, jilly!
what didn't he do? vault up and down stairs, bike wrecks, etc. usual stupid boy tricks
i think it may be a guy thing to count uu

it probably is a guy thing; I didn't count my stitches nor my staples; my son can tell you exactly how many stitches he had at age 4

Know someone who can't power down their electronics and go to bed like a good boy or girl? The perfect gift..."Goodnight Ipad", based on the classic children's book, "Goodnight Moon". Very funny.

It's a book.
