By a faction, I understand a number of citizens, whether amounting to a majority or a minority of the whole, who are united and actuated by some common impulse of passion, or of interest, adversed to the rights of other citizens, or to the permanent and aggregate interests of the community.

Hello

Hi BR

Don't wake the cats!

Couldn't start the morning without a coffee! Enjoy!
lol...Liz
cats got me earlier
Mornin', smores! Hey, I haven't grown up by 61 so I REALLY don't have to! Liking this grid so much better than the past two days.
Hiya Mimi :)
How many cats?
Hi Mimi
three
Hi, Liz!
they are actually my daughters
Growing up is over-rated!
Oh, no, smores---I have 3 cats, too. They were all strays. Love 'em.
Cat sitting?
no, my daughters are 13 and 15 so I'm still stuck with them too...lol
lol!
Bet your daughters don't think growing up is over-rated!
just kiddin..they're good girls...most of the time...lol
the cats on the other hand...
I'm sure :)
When I got divorced after 23 years and my kids were all working, I sold the house and moved into a 1-bedroom apt. and told the kids "Pay attention, Mom now has a 1-bedroom apt.---nobody's coming home!"
I told them I love them all but never want to live with any of them ever again!
Unless invited ...!
lol...nice
When I left home aged 19 (long time ago now!!) I couldn't have moved back home. Loved the independence!
Also tell everyone I'm NEVER getting married again unless I find out I only have 6 months to live---in which case, I'll remarry my ex-husband because it would make that 6 mos. seem like SOOO much LONGER.
Funny lady!
LOL....
good morning my babble friends;)
morning crossy
Hi, crossy!
Morning Crossy

Hi Annie
Hey, Annie!
Mimi, you are a funny lady :)

Love: The will to extend one's self for the purpose of nurturing one's own or another's spiritual growth.

The Knicks

I think I get it...not supposed to enter exact words, right? Well, I didn't really.....! My bad....will watch that. Hey, I wouldn't know how to act if I didn't cause SOME trouble!
He must be pleased ... they won again last night
mimi, and then you go to the PB where there are chocolates, macadamia nuts and champagne.
Sounds like MY type of destination!
BR, Yes, he is happy about the Knicks playing

Hi crossy :)
I am always in trouble, just a matter of degree
lol..don't forget the cabana boys Annie.
Of course, the cabana boys!
howdy annie
My kids used to beg me not to watch basketball games. Had to give it up....the Suns kept breaking my heart. Now that Steve Nash is gone, I'm totally done.
What do you use to break the fats?
<---ponders if crossy's typo is maybe accurate

You have been to Victoria's Secret again

TY for asking, BR!

finally nbt/nbs
and now it is time for crossy,s tidbit of the day!!!
Hooshiers won big last night
The very first TV commercial was for Bulova watches in 1941, and it aired in the middle of a pro baseball game between the Dodgers and Phillies. The spot cost nine dollars.
$9 wow
not a big on BB, but as a Hoosier I did know that
coolio
I think I am a rarity here :)
$9.00 in 1941 had the same buying power as $144.05 in 2012. Annual inflation over this period was 3.98%.
mm,somewhere alng the way, those who sell the spots lost the sliding scale calculator:(
Got a really good deal in 1941
wow... so a commercial should only cost 144.05 now
what does a 30 second spot in a baseball program cost now?
Stats please for the top N?

part of his colon had died near the ostomy site - fortunately a very small part - they removed it, stitched things together, looked at everything else very carefully, and sewed him back up

necrotic colon, eh? (just wants to use one of her medical words)
also we now have the pathology report (the surgeon gave us our own copy), it did confirm Crohn's
congrats hurshy
indeed, hurshy, amazing how sick those couple of centimeters made him
I hope Frank gets some non-crisis time
good morning all and how many words today and thanks

just read your profile
Hi ((Ruby))
sue, looking for an update. It is wonderful (and well-deserved) that you have so many great friends helping you and Frank through this
((ruby))
congrats hurshy!!!
{{annie}} I've missed you
I was back Wednesday, so happy to be home
gotta get ready and get to the hospital, please keep him in your prayers
non-crisis time would be good. he is now terrified of something else going wrong.
{{crossy}}
((((smores)))) we will keep you and him in our thoughts
lots of prayers and positive thoughts go out to smores friend and to sue and frank
from France, too!
Frank, unfortunately, will be dealing with more unexpecteds ... chemo and a crohn's specialist
well, at this point we are expecting those, BR, it's the unexpected unexpecteds that we're really worried about
chemo is our friend!
That is the insidious thing about crohn's .... quite unpredictable
Even so, having the cancer manageable is a big plus
hopefully the crohn's will keep quiet for a bit; the part of his intestine with obvious disease is gone
and the cancer prognosis looks quite good
nibbling away at the tiles here; first round left me with 3 blank and now I am down to one
and the gluten intolerance is being managed
missing one 7 - have EQ 7, NO 7, and RE 7 - which one am i missing please?
There is much to learn about the autoimmune system
de pl
thnx BR
yw
38 plus days until Christmas
well, right now the gluten intolerance is being managed because he isn't eating anything (although they are giving him IV nutrition, finally). He is getting a bit depressed, which worries me. Probably being doped up on morphine doesn't help.
Have you discussed the depression with the docs? perhaps a bit of therapy and/or meds is appropriate?
will do so today, just realized how bad it was
we have some friends (including our minister) who are counselors, too
the physical stuff is hard enough.... the mental simply is exhausting
it is indeed
and a gentle reminder to make your well being a priority, Sue
((((BR)))) I am trying...
Someone else ought to be able to relieve you for a half day or day
I am too anxious for that, but have taken .5 and 1 hour bits away
quattro
You will have to push yourself ... caregiver burnout is a real tragedy
indeed. I am beginning to appreciate that.

thanks, jimmel :-)
Sorry
How are you doing. jimmel?
Fine, thanks, BR - computer acting funny this morning
Well, actually hotspot on smartphone is acting funny!

... WEll said sam ... oops sue ...
... somebody spelled it in the chat log about 5 minutes ago ... ... go and look ... you'll never get it any other way ...
Phew! At this speed .......
ok, jmc, but boy, has it been one hell of a journey!
g + Hark the ****ld Angels sing + 3-t*** sloth
hi molly!
Hi Sue, I like your Dr. Suess reference. : )
:-) dos started it
... jmc started it ... on a train
And where, oh where, is JMC training to?
Hi all!
<--------not on a train
Hi Hego. *Not on a train either*
: P
but am Babbling with amazingly dilated eyes after visit to eye doctor.
weird. You're all blurry.
There really are 4 n's and three t's...it's not your eyes.
hahaha
I was afraid of that.
haha
Hi mael
hi hego, hi all
still no satisfying meaty grid
and tadah! should totally be a word
true
we're living on gristle and bone these days.
So as to empty us out before the Thanksgiving feast next week.
if only!
my in laws want to bring their cat with them when they come stay with us for thanksgiving. We also have a cat, who is not going to like it.
uh oh!
I objected, but my husband is not going to put his foot down. So we'll see, it might be hilarious or it might be a disaster that results in them leaving early :)
the fur will fly
literally and figuratively
we have the nicest cat on the planet, but she's never been confronted with a strange cat in her space. I trust that she'll make her feelings known either way. :)
just looked up the definiton of the gh word--interesting
maybe that's what Hostess needed, jane
i am training home
from where?
i was more looking toward gene kelly but dr suess works for me!
ugh the wi-fi on the train sucks . . . really slows down the reparte!
I would not mind looking toward Gene Kelly.
i can add words but the slow wi-fi has ruined my witty chat
it's still good, but I know what you mean.
I don't understand why people expect to be able to bring a pet when they are a guest in your home.
me neither. I'm allergic.
ACK!!!! i can't chat!
: (
oh i see you have been getting the chat but I have not
and i think your i-l are amazingly RUDE!
i hate it when people are always bringing their dogs everywhere . . .
what! I was feeling bad for you!
they are stubborn, but I don't blame them any more than I blame my husband, who has never said "no" to them in his life
Oh sorry, misunderstood.
I am dumb.
:)
but i agree with you.
blame it on my blurry eyes.
hego!
Can't see a damn thing.
find a hotel that takes pets and send them a note saying you have reserved a room for them there
I had my eyes dilated.
good for jmc!
haha, I would totally do that. But my husband has, unhelpfully, offered to say no only when specifying that I don't want to have the cat, not him. He's helpful like that :)
a real doll. lol
FIREWORKS and I am out of here!
WTG!!
congrats buttonman
Hi Teach
thanks Teacj amd Hego, see you later!
JMC is on a train and I can't see.
Now you're all caught up.
whoo hoo buttonman
his parents already think I'm the stiff new daughter-in-law with, you know, boundaries. Boundaries such as "please, MIL, don't fold my laundry for me, I don't want you going through my underwear"
congrats! and hi teach
well if they are too cheap to board the cat they will find a hotel even more expensive. . .
hi wv
mael what age and sex are the cats?
good afternoon all
howdy teach
after i have been married years my mil what shocked to find out that her *gasp* son did the laundry
they're both female, ours is one and a half and theirs is 9 months old
Heaven forbid!
lol, jmcnrick
you may be ok then, but your may still lose her mind and regress a tad during the visit
i didn't have the heart to tell he did the ironing too
sounds lovely
lol JMC
my husband does all the cleaning and I do all the laundry, he's the neat freak in the family :) full disclosure, I didn't own an iron until my husband moved in three years ago
he was the one who wanted ironed shirts
if he wants stuff ironed he better do it himself
good point.
i still have my husband's iron after 20 year i wonder if it still works
I like your style mael.
I am and never will be a domestic goddess. I can cook, but that's about it! :)
:-)
I hope you never need to find out JMC>
but, the upside of my in laws going nuts about their kitten is that they've stopped harassing my SIL and I about grand children
:-)
You're Italian. Of course you can cook!.
haha, thanks hego! :)
I guess ther's an upside to everything.
must go before my eyes blow out entirely.
Have a good trip home JMC.
bye hego! take care!
bye hego . . . take a nap
** finito ** last word FO 4/8 which is a warm, dry, and often strong wind coming off the lee slopes of a mountain range

ha ha, yeah ok i got the 6..now to figure out the 8, andyou are right, dont know it off the top of my head lol
try dropping that in to a sentence at a party
make the gh 6 past tense
wow...i hope that is the only weird word like that...or I will never finish this puzzle!
too many of them i could not give a definition or use in a sentence
i know this game is meant to expand our vocabulary, but really how do you use some of these words in daily conversation??
nare
i use zarf!
he is such a zarf.
my favorite word
never heard it lol
is it really a word? what does it mean?
mmm,2 jumbo over easy brown eggs done in creamery butter crispy home fries made with diced russets, yellow tates and sweet taters with secret herbs and spices,a few rasher of maple kissed and apple wood smoked bacon and texas toast
i learned it from babble
it means either an annoying man. . . or
now crossy's words i can understand and they sound delicious
the holder (usually metal or plastic) in which you hold a handerless coffee cup
mmmh, cross
i use cwms all the time just to mess with people
could i have a clue for the single n and the c please
nm for the c
NA 6/18 - rhymes with older society woan

yaaaa!
prayers for Israeli today during this time of.. i do not know what to call it if nothing but war and wishes for those innocents on both sides to stay safe
as i recall,we do have one babbler in isreal but the name escapes me now
two in Israel at least, michnik in Jerusalem and lshult on a kibbutz in the southern Arava region of the Negev
Arb is in isral
and sandysolar?
may they and their families stay safe during this madness
hi crossy ruru sue jmc et al how's the grid today?
fairly tame, but a few babblets and one truly evil gh8
thanks for that clue btw, i saw it in the chog... you are right - spawn of satan for sure!
np:) good to get that thing out of the way first
saw the menu as well... now i'm ravenous ;)
hehe
it was delish
the gh word(s) mean 'a form of industrial action in which workers imprison their employers on the premises until their demands are met. hmmm.
maybe c.n. rail should adopt their action - sure could use it!
and good morning /afternoon/evening to all
hi saan
LOL Kate!

Hindi
maybe the unions can just drive them banrupt like they just did to hostess
bankrupt
ok for twinkies, I have a carton from the 60s and they are still fresh!
english is international rail language... but they don't seem to be able to understand.... and it's them bankrupting the unions with endless court cases
lol,i hear the cream makes a good industrial lubricant as well
I think it's called "an edible oil product"
ugh
that is also a label used on those creamers that are powedered

haha!

cannot seem to mlnkey one of the middle qu 5/16??
Hello all. Does the no7 have a negative prefix?
Qe5 is a misspelled feamle roylaty
qu5
female
royalty
For heavne's sake!
LOL! I'm done typing for the day. No wonder I can't find the word!
one of my favorite words... thanks bzzn
yes on the n-7 thing i say bravely
ty. got it.
Good afternoon
hi bichon
Started my T-Day shopping today. At least I have the basics in the house
mmmmm turkey ;)
Be careful out there Bich. The idiots are out in full force.
I went early this morning so I wouldn't get in the way of all those shoppers on a X-Mas buying tear
Early morning in the grocery store is a beautiful thing.
We are actually having the feasters over on Sat. They are going to the other parents on Thurs.
same at 2 a.m. --- not a soul in sight and no kids having ftantrums over cereal choices
I feel like blessing myself and genuflecting when I walk into a quiet, mostly empty grocery store.
At 2 AM I am alway asleep. I'm going to go to Costco next Tues, but when they first open
i used to go in the middle of the night after work, when i worked for the railway
I went to Costco once, during Christmas season. I got there twenty minutes before they were to open. There were 100 people in line waiting to get in.
have you both finished the grid?
I'm hoping it won't be that bad before T'day. I only want to get some produce [something I love there].
Finish the grid Kate, just started
good evening, good people
am down to 9 left - crossy clued the gh's which were evil bablets... and scooped a qu clue i never would have gotten, other than that am pleased i managed so far alone
hi sprite!
Hey Sprite. There was a great article in yesterday's NY Times about how successful the Netherlands is in engineering dams and dikes to keep the water out. If only that would have here
hi Kate :) Hi bichon! Yes, we had to learn... or there wouldn't be a Netherlands at all ;)
must be good reasons why our solutions don't work for you :(
Hi Gang. : )
that gh 6/8 combo is way weird
i think they did some great engineering for venice - the walls lay under the sea until raised as needed
I think it's lack of priorities here in this country
hi hego :D
... think new orleans
We insist in having beaches.
hey hego
and living on them.
And the whole NY City, New Jersey area
where I live Bichon
we have beaches too. And people living very close to them. But it is probably different. We have dunes.
I grew up in the Rockaways where some of the worst damage occured [peninsula of the southern shore of Queens]
does anyone have a teeny tiny clue for the de 6/36, de 7/52? i'm getting no where fast with those two
we ahd dunes sprite. Big ones.
They were gone before the storm really hit.
had dunes
Yes rockaway got it bad too.
de6...remove a vampire's teeth
Hi Molly
ty molly!
thanks molly
and pl.
is the ao word a bablet?
it's here a lot.
main artery
no an artery
it is the other ao, lol
But it's not a word only seen in Babble, therefore, not MY definition of a Babblet.
ty sprite and hego, sometimes you casn't see the forest for the trees
agreed
too true, Kate :)
definitely not a bablet
this is so true Kate.
snap!
:)
If you define Babblets as words not used in everyday conversation, the list would be thirty miles long.
yes
i think aorta qualifies as an everyday word
oops!
yeah. Babblets have a finer definition. But I bet Kate was trying from the wrong ao. I did too at first.
the ones like the bablet for the cat sound.... which i always have to monkey forever are the ones that get me
lololllllllll. Now that was subtle, Kate!
I guess that depends. Personally, ao5 doesn't come up in my everyday conversations.
there are some variations on the cat sounds as well.
yes... no plain old meows for the babblers!
I think an m and any combination of three vowels is acceptable. lol
no, lol. I always monkey for them, and often I monkey and none of my variations are in enable.
... but if it did molly, no one would look at you like you had 2 heads and were speaking a foreign language
I used to work in a coronary unit.
we said it a lot there.
uh-oh... i have one more word in lickety than i have on this page... must go on a search mission
most people would know more or less what ao5 is. Like femur etc. But naoi and ywis and toea enz enz, most sane people wouldn't have a clue.
rehan g
Gail!
Oh, so sorry!
I believe you, hego, LOL. Medicalese is a tough language
hi gail, lol
thanks Gail, and hi ;)
ty Gail. : )
darn bandaid on finger!
lolol
what are the stats for the second column o, pls
oh man, typing with a bandaid.
Hi to everybody.
od4/5
always appreciate help with re words.
ty sprite
yvw bichon
and the un's.... and the non's.... and the re's
stupid enable. Why not tada?
I have one non word.
2 words maybe? Ta Da!!!!
that's all there is.
if I type 'nonart' one more time, I will have to kick myself
Oh, good.
could be, Kate, grinnn
ouch!
there are 2 non words gail, but only one is a "non"
but the other isn't a negative.
wouldn't that be rather difficult sprite?
oops!
snap again.
yeah... so I will try and not type it again
wow... I came home from therapy day with so much pain that I took an oxycontin. I used to take lots of them... but have been on other medication for some time. I feel like I am kinda drunk. Again glad I don't use the stuff daily anymore!
nasty stuff for sure sprite. glad you don't need it all the time!
they make me nauseous and constipated beyond belief.
sorry to be indelicate.
me too! Might even ask my doctor for something else I could take in very bad situations. Don't like this feeling at all.
*grin* no problem. It's the very truth.
that whole family will do it - even simple coedine like tylenol1
that's right Kate.
indeedydeed
I prefer nsaids.
what are nsaids?
is that the -fen family?
i use meloxicam, but i find the effect doesn't last long
non steroidal anti inflammatories
anti inflammatory drugs
non-steroidal anti- inflammatroy
ty Lid. i was to lazy to type all that. lol
many of the brand names are different here. Will look it up, thanks
naproxyn
ibuprofen, naproxen, etc
lol... and you are probably the most qualified to define it
but a lousy typist Kate
ah I see. I cannot use those in combination with my other meds.
no! i am the worst tyypist in babble...
oh, too bad.
You can't be serious, Kate.
You're not even in the top ten!
oh yes... while it has imprived a bit, they all used to joke about it
okay, folks... the push is on... 5 to go
not complaining. For most days, what I take is gabapentine in combination with simple paracetamol. Much much better than the high dose oxycontin I used to take.
go Kate goooo!
yes, much better.
Go Kate!!
paracetemol = acetominiphen (sp?) for those on this side of the pond
... of course, i could aslwasys claim typos... <grin>
ah, sorry. See? Even the simplest ones can be so differently named!
.. . isn't paracetemol actulaly a brasnd name? here it is tylenol amongst others
they only share the acet root, but they are the same.
no, it is not a brand name. Just another name for the same substance
I don't think so kate
acetaminophen is the spelling. Yes, now that you said it, I see the root.
I am now on Methadone for back pain, mucn easier to take than the other stuff. Just saw the neurosurgeon today.
anyone have the or 5/14 or 6/24 i have the words before and after them
very interesting Gail.
they are apes Kate.
the o words are like apes
ouch gail! taht's pretty serious, didn't realize methadone was good for that
a shortened name.
the utan one(s)
oh Gail, sorry to hear you are in so much pain.
thanks, got it as soon as i read your clues
is methadon stronger than oxycodone or not?
I find that hard to compare thse two.
they're different.
different family sprite, maybe hego know. i think it is still in the heroine family, but different structure, not so addictive?
yeah sorry, am just reading about both and I see they are rather different
.. the methadone, that is
It can be addictive, yes.
both are addictive, yes
nasty stuff, all of it, but a blessing when you really need them
interesting wh words today. : )
lol hego
hi all
Hi Cos!
hi cos :)
hi cos
am glad to be able to say that tornado is a phantom today
i didn't see many phantoms in this one for a change!
let's keep it that way.
down to 2...
I have 2 phantoms. wharf and anger
tornado, fedora, and many many more here :D
those too, indeed cos
i did try wharf a few times myself :))
I had to actually do some work there for a few minutes. Regarding meds, I would not be able to work any other way, so it works for me now. That is a blessing.
yes it is Gail.
it certainly is, Gail. What did your doctor say?
Took some more films, going to look at them all, but probably too many problems on too many levels to fix.
oh damn :( Am so sorry, Gail. Hard to live with chronic pain.
sorry to hear. Back problems did you say?
hi again all!
welcome back sue
Hi Sue! And how are you holding up?
It is, and I care for my son, who has CIDP, so I have to keep on keeping on.

I hear the mailman.
I must run right out and get the mail so I can go directly to the recycle bin and throw most of it away.
is the mail man bringing a clue for the at? monky is back on strike
lol, hego!

at took me forever.

Hi Molly :)
Good going, Jilly :-)
See, tell jacula...I am getting better...no list ;O
nbt/nbs no list - no "meekly" about that :)
Almost had to ask for stats on the 8 though...
And...this game is not a contest. Even though some people make it seem that way. Everyone does a grid their own way and in their own time.
LOL-I sorta banked on it being the gh...monkeyed the gh6 and got the pt for the 8.
I really never see me doing a grid without a list at some point...
lol...yeah my monkeys had a work out earlier
Grids are easier when there are gerunds, pt and pl
Well, I must go, 20 left for after dinner. Have a wonderful evening everyone :)
See you later smores!!
hi all, back to find my last 9 words
Hiya ((peri)))
Hi Peri
Then you'll help me with my remaining 75? ;)
would someone suggest a mellow whiskey for me for the winter months
I will help you Jilly
My DH (whiskey guy) suggests Makers Mark for a mellow smooth whiskey...
If you mean smooth, anything triple distilled or double malt. It's more expensive, but tastes better. And yes, Makers is excellent. Good on your husband Jilly.
is it expensive?
I'm the gin expert....he's the whiskey drinker
Not in the great scheme of things. And it's often on sale here.
I like my gin& tonics
I will check it out thanks
There is no law that says you can't drink gin and tonic in the winter.
cheers, Mols, it is Friday!
I know but I think of it as more of a summer drink
*Clink*
I will not give them up completely
There is a MT distilled whiskey "Never Sweat" made in Butte MT (Head Frame Spirits Inc) email cheers@headframespirits.com. I even liked it...
can I mix the Makers with ginger ale?
(GASPS at the idea of mixing Makers with anything) Yes.
http://headframespirits.com/home
oh, you just drink it straight or on the rocks? you can see I do not know much about whiskey
Or you can pair it with sour mix for whiskey sour...
A lot of people (especially female people) don't care for straight liquor.
I do like a whiskey sour.
Also great with tea, lemon and honey (tonic for colds)
but you do, Molls
In my younger days I drank whiskey and water...
Lemon and honey yes. I wouldn't add tea to that mix though.
Peri, lets put it this way. At a party, where all the girls are drinking wine and tee-hee-ing in the kitchen, I'm out in the back yard drinking beer and doing shots with the boys. Comes from years of hanging out with musicians.
Phat Luey (darling kitty ) has decided it is lap time...makes typing no fun...
LOL...I KNEW you and I had something in common...
fw
WooT WooT WooT peri!!
ty do you need any clues, Jilly?
WTG, Peri!!
Nah, doing fine so far...and have a lot of time to get 'er done...may take a break soon. But thanks Peri!
ok, bye for now
*waves good bye to peri*
A-E downed...time for a break...bbl *poof*
home again home again jiggedy-jig
How was the market? How fat is your pig?
pretty fat. . . whole trip paid for by Yale Law School and I made at least 2 connections for OTL
I'll drink to that.
Clue for the NO7, please??
what are we drinking?
no7 is not brave
Drinkers choice.
*pours a jack neat*
TYVM.........fireworks.
*and pours it neatly*
whoo hooo liz
was it something i said?
I will also drink to the Mom who gave birth to 20 pounds of triplets.
ouch but at least that averages out to less than 7 pounds each
5, 7 and 7 with assorted ounces that pushed it over 20.
the boy was 12 all by himself
Yes, I remember that. You are one of the few people I know who beat me by a pound on birth weight.
:-) sorry to repeat my stories. . . but after a few years it is inevitable
11 is a feat too
really anything over 10 all in one package. . .
Nah, you don't repeat your stories. I just remember that because of the "in common large birth weight" thing.
oh good i always try to have new ones. . .
this virtual jack is not doing it for me. . . brb
Repeating your stories is saying the same thing over and over and over again. Which is done here, but not by you. : P
speaking of a new story. . . .
i went to pier one because i needed to replenish my supply of unbroken shot glasses. . .
i told them what i was looking for. . .clear glass, rounded shape no stem. . .
we looked all their glasses and couldn't find them and i said that was too bad because i had gotten them there before . . .
and this other checker said. . .that sounds like our candle holders and they are only $1 each . . . sure enough that is what i had been using for several years so i bought a bunch more. . . glass is glass
and they are sturdy little suckers which bounce more often than break
nbt
LOL..thats rather funny, Jmc..still you know what to ask for next time :-)
haha that assumes i will remember. . .but i did remember them being about $1 each so maybe
hi zooz
All you need is some candles to!
i have those but use them in the standard light a candle for me votive
Hmm, that will explain the wax in the liquor too.
lol
well i use beeswax candles so no harm done! haha
Votive whiskey, a new religious experience.
reminds me of the meteaus rose and lancer bottles with multicolored wax all dripped on them that we thought made us look so worldly!
well there are different ways to be lit up molls
I remember my sister melting candles so that the wax would be dripped "just so" down the sides of the bottle. But then, she is the Martha Stewart type.
i was quite good at that too but i also sandcast candles and sold them. . . got a fabulous deal at a candle making company going out of business
had a candle with 6 wicks that was from a sandcast of a large bowl and was more than 18 inches diameter
made a fortune (relatively speaking) selling those puppies
hung that candle over my bed with a "gold" chain. . . all the rage
I can almost smell the incense.
my *ahem* boyfriend burned incense but i always hated the smell
on the other hand it was a water bed
*puts on ravi shakir record*

Hello jmc and molly...*dives back in*
*Wonders who started the misconception that the grid is a pool*
Not sure, but I like it!
It's the whole magical, fantasy land of Babble. With a pool and little simians typing letters for you.
Don't forget the cabana boys in the PB!!
clue for the to5/16? (simians exhausted) plz
Canadian hat
chef's hat, not just canadian
ty molly..got ti
*it
Well, by definition, it's a bunch of different kinds of hats, the similarity being "brimless". Canadians seem to like to use the word a lot though. It being French and all that.
I forgot about the double letter tile after I vanquished the words based off of it...can also start with a ta btw...I remember that one in a past pool..oops, I mean grid ;0
Most of today's chefs are wearing a more beanie style hat than the poofy white ones.
*Throws the beach ball to Jilly*
Day two of this darn cold virus is making my head thick....
Alas, I have joined the rhinovirus club. I knew it was coming. Always does, right around Thanksgiving.
I'm blaming mine on the 6 hour flight. I think airlines could put some sort of filter on their system for crying out loud!
Nothing like being stuck in a cylindrical tube with everyone else's germs for six hours.
I'm getting over mine better than my hubby...not looking forward to the 6 hour flight Dec 2013 to see our oldest graduate on the east coast.
*puts on surgical mask( hello everyone
Hello there TO...wise choice in apparell!!
Seriously tho', I may wear one on my next long flight!
uh oh, caught something?
<----!!FW!!
yay jilly
Yep, head cold....
beb
hello
Hi heron...love your icon!!
I do have photo's I took this summer of the draggies, this one was not one of them. Thanks anyway!
heron is the news in your icon current? I lived in Durham for my final year in high school and loved going to the big town of Dover. It is so pretty
Bugs, I haven't even read my profile. I do still live in Dover.
LOL - according to that you are moving there in 2 weeks
My partner/wife and I moved down here 2 years ago.
it is on my bucket list to go back there so I will add you to the list of people I wud like to meet
Please do!!
sadly, it wont be soon but I keep hoping
I hear you:))
I guess I should update my profile.
Well, must head out to figure out dinner pretty soon, anyone need clues?
or I shud read them more often ha ha ha
is the equ word findable if I keep looking Jilly or shud you give me a clue
it's the waistline of Earth, Bugs.
Cute clue Nef. : )
thanks Nef. How are you today?
Good Evening, Everyone. How are you all tonight?
YIpes, sorry, went to FB briefly...
I'm fine Bugs, how are you?
Hello nef! How is DH holding up?
hi Molly and Jilly
I had a great day with my tutoring kid so i am happy. He was moving forward very quickly
Glad to hear it bugs!
Right now I have hime snoring away in the LazyBoy behind me. He hurts and doesn't know it; so I made him take some Tylenol and turn on the heated vibrator cushion and relax. I think it worked, Jillly! :-)
I am guessing you are still full of cold Jilly?
Nice job nurse! I was keeping him in prayer!
I feel better, but head is clogging up...
How sad that the pain is so constant he doesn't even know when it is bothering him. You are creative Nef
Thank you, Jilly. I've been keeping your husband in my prayers too
his surgery is in 10 days, I'm hoping and praying it will help and no complications this time!
Well, it's working nef, we had a wonderful time in Hawaii! First real vacation in 3 years...I need to remember to do that break more often!
I have quite a little list of people on Babble who need support. I hope this is just a glitch in the universe.
may I ask what kind of surgery Nef? dont answer if that is too forward.
Well, I wonder if it's just not that this is such a wonderful place of support that we all rely on it...
cervical spine surgery (in his neck) where the spinal cord is being pinched by his spine
Oh, when that works he will feel SO much better. Pinched nerves are no joke.
Jilly when I joined Babble I did it because the people were so friendly but I never imagined we wud come to care about each other the way we do.
I think this is the most caring internet site I've ever found.
Me too nef!
I agree and it's a shame that everyone doesn't see things that way. But, to each their own I guess.
It saddens me that people feel they must depart because of things said here. There is so much more caring than animosity for sure
Some have more ruffled feathers than others...
Molly, even those we don't agree with at times will eventually become friends here
it just takes time I think
Personally, I wud rather be corrected at the time that I made a gaff so I wud learn something than have someone take offense and leave altogether.
I know, it was hard the other nite when the words 'toxic' was referenced to this place..saddened me.
agrees with bugsaw 100%
me too. I saw that and felt sad because so many people DO care
Wow. I'm glad I missed that then. Sorry to hear....
But I also know there are those that are uncomfortable with any sort of confrontation and would not feel they could directly address the situation.
I even read the chog log that night and really could not see that the issues were that 'toxic'...
Oh no! I'm so glad I missed any of the aforementioned nastiness. Hello everybody. (Spraying anti-feather-ruffling dust ahead of me.......)
((soodle))
Hey Soodle. We love anti-feather -ruffling dust here, welcome
Better wear a surgical mask too soodle... a few of us have cold viruses..
but they aren't internet viruses, so I'm not wearing a mask!
LOL..
Hi Jilly, Bugs, Nef & Molls . My gas mask is secured....
hi Soodle. :-)
Speaking of inappropriate things..just read about a teacher in Idaho. Had students use permanent markers on the foreheads of other students that didn't make their reading goals *shudders* She should be FIRED!
absolutely, she shud!
brb..phone
OMG! How humiliating And nasty.
You know, there was a time when I would have gone back over the chog to see what you are talking about, but I think I have Babble-matured, and I don't even want to know!!! Crikey! I better start the HRT toot sweet!
One of the neatest things I saw was when the kinds used markers to write postive words or messages on the palms of their hands. As they walked down the halls they wud wave at the new kids to help them feel welcomed.
HRT? hot rum toddies?
I am in line Soodle
Hormone Replacement Therapy
I've been trying to figure out HRT also
Oh No, oh NO!
I wud rather have a hot rum toddie but I think you are correct Molly
And good for you Soodle. I think it's obsessive to read over every scrap of Babble chat. Perhaps if people would quit doing that, they would be content with the parts of chat they actually take part in.
Lol!! Thank you Molls!!!! Saved me a long complicated & not medically accurate explanation!!
Maturity doesn't require hormone replacement therapy; I like the idea of hot rum toddies, though (even if I'm not a drinker)
Although anyone can feel free to bring on the hot toddy's. Not wild about rum, I'll take whiskey in mine.
I will be imbibing in something tonight...
*Alerts the Montana State Police*
Personally, I would opt for HCB (Hot Cabana Boy) over HRT.....
LOL!
LOL...Molly I fell in love with dark rum in Hawaii...Mai Tai's are awesome!
*agrees with soodel*
*soodle
Women of Montana!! Lock up your sons, husbands, brothers & fathers!! Jillys out & about!! :-)
I need to get supper ready; Just going to heat up some soup and "embellish" it a bit. BBS
sounds good Nef
Laters Nef. :-)
ch
fang
Hi Maryanne. Ch right back atcha!! :-)
hi maryanne!
sorry fang was to be in babble
Bugs - I love your profile bio!!
Ma, what's for dinner? Embellished soup.
maryanne you leaked out of lurking mode the way we ALL do sometimes. no problems
Maryanne- lets see what delights the PB has to offer this evening.....
Good morning all.
I need to read that book Nef. I know some broken people who are constantly causing me pain. In my butt. : P
thanks Soodle, I am loving this stage of doing more of what I want to do than what I am expected or obliged to do.
Rofl Molls. If that conversation happened chez Soodle, there would be a chorus of 'Oh No!!! No embellished soup AGAIN'..
Hello lizlin!
:)
Just read your post Soodle...LOL
Hi Lizlin. :-)
*Pictures to the poor waifs at Chez Soodle, saying "Please Ma'am, may I have some more? *
Then the waifs (?) get whacked over the knuckles with the (embellished) soup spoon, and told to drink up and shut up! A la Charles Dickens!!
my kids went thru a stage of asking "What's for supper?" and then groaning and whining no matter what it was so.....
time to fin ish up this puppy, it's a toopsy turvy one...
one day I was making ground beef with rice and veggies so I said, "Bats brains and maggots." They cheered and loved it
*Wonders if tomato/basil soup with goldfish crackers floating in it counts as "embellished" *
weird kids but I love them
would at my house
Funny how all those whiny complaints of dinner now have turned into requests for same when they return home!
LOL you are so right Jilly. the world works in circles
The only whining and complaining I ever got is if there wasn't enough for seconds. My boys were always very appreciative of my cooking, even as young ones.
I had ones from opposite ends of the spectrum...one always complained about my "Experiemental" food...
<---Stares wide-eyed at the screen, wondering about "experimental" food
But we raised them to be open to try new things; the always had to take at least a small portion of new food.
I always figured they had something else in mind and were disappointed when what I was preparing was not what they had in mind.
finito! anyone need a clue before I go on a food search?
LOL Molly, I like to try things in crock pots. Usually successful, occasionally not so much...
WooT WooT WooT bugsaw!!
Good luck in your search Bugs. I hope you don't have to forage too far.
grats bugs
I'm about to depart for supper search too, so if you need clues...
congrats bugsaw! 20 to go!!!
Go lizlin!
Enjoy your evenings :)
go Liz go. Ok I am off after taking a bow. Have fun everyone
Great stuff Bugs!!!
*waves bye to bugsaw*
Oh, great! Everyone leaves while I return while my soup heats up
"Everyone"? Soodle, you and I are chopped liver again.
*small voice* I'm still here...I think hubby will make a Subway run.
And me?
You too, Liz.
no, Molly. I thought you both were leaving too (I saw too many people saying goodbye)
Always good to put a solid sub in your stomach before you go out and get liquored up.
Whadda ya mean 'go out'...staying in for the liquored up part...deference to age I guess
The seldom referred to Daughter of Soodle delighted in pointing out a recently publushed survey. Apparently, men like tall blondes with green eyes, with a scientific background, whi don't smoke& who drink socially!! All boxes ticked by Sarah. Woo-hoo..... I might be having to buy a wedding outfit soon.....
that's good - don't have to drive if you stay in!
Oh, no wonder Mr. Jilly is going to fetch dinner. He's hoping to get lucky tonight. : P
Soodle - start saving!
Chopped liver??????
Publushed? Would that be survey results that embarrass you to read? : P
hi again all!
lol
Hi, Just starting. Busy day even though I had planned out a quiet day doing filing and indexing of papers. Instead, drum roll, I took Stidgrandson and he helped me choose an amplifier for my keyboard. Necessary for the orchestral stuff we're doing.
Hi Sue and stidmere
Hi Gran Mere. Nice of boyo to help you out.
hi gmere, liz, molly, soodle!
Pedantic Molls!!! Am struggling (striggling) with this blessed IPhone gadget.....
I hope Subway doesn't have a lot of water in it. Did that ever get cleared up? Yes, our grandboys are a joy.
Well if you would quit high tailing it off to tropical seaside villages, you might be able to afford a new lap top. : P
Hello Gmere & Sue. :-)
I uu, liz, molly and all. Soodle, hope your Irish Eyes are Smiling.
Molly...please see references to viral laden hubby and me..no romance, one year we passed bugs back and forth all winter...
Hello uusue!
Yarra, GMere, if I wasn't smiling, I'd be crying!! So I'm smiling!!! :-)
hi jill!
hi sue and stidg! (I was off serving DH his soup)
hi nef!
How is Frank uusue?
Embillished?
getting a little better, jill, although now I am worried about his lungs
Hi Nef. I have a chicken in the oven. It need to get brown and juicy in an hour and a half. Otherwise, I am done for the night. No more work out of me.
Sounds yummy - reminds me of last night!
Are they having him use a spirometer to clear his lungs post-surgery?
If I wasn't smiling I'd be crying??? *Wonders*
yes but he's not using it much, and he's in a lot more pain after this surgery than the last one (no epidural) so he's not able to do much
yes, Soodle. We started with fresh avocado halves ands tomatoes; now the soup was a can of Healthy choice chicken and rice with mixed veggies (actually, leftovers from last night), fresh portobella mushrooms, and all sorts of other stuff like that
Is that like a spirograph for the lungs?
:)
I hope they did teach him how to 'splint' his incision when using spirometer...
it's a thing where he breathes in and a marker shows his lung volume (or something)
they did but it's so tender he doesn't like to apply any pressyre
*Jots down nursie medicalese words*
sue, make him turn, deep breathe and cough every hour (even if it hurts a little work will help)
*pressure
The thing with the balls in it Sue?
Sometimes people tend not to use the demand morphine regularily enough. He should make sure he takes a dose before he deep breathes.
There goes Molly again with the balls...
and hold both sides of the pillow (like a dressing), not over the incision
right, molly
Good point nef!
he's using the demand morphine about as often as it will let him, jill
and yes, encourage drugs! He won't get addicted if he uses it now when he needs it!
Sue, Frank is in my prayers.
You heard it here first folks. A nurse saying "encourage drugs".
thanks, soodle!
does he have something else ordered, sue? Maybe he needs to get the pain at a lower level so he can move and cough
I don't think so, nef, but will ask
15 left! Stupid bitey gn / 4 critters hiding in the top left of the grid. Could I see them?????? No! So typed them for the sake of it! There they were!!! GRRRRRR!!!!
he sort of half-coughed a little but it was extremely painful
lol, liz!
Elbows her way to the top of the line........ I'll take some Happy Pills please.....
Molly, I know that sounds odd, but people don't move and cough if they hurt too much
I hope it gets easier for Frank v soon :)
I'm still wondering about the people who don't use the demand morphine enough.
I was kidding Nef, I got what you meant. : )
Sorry, Soodle; no Happy Pills for you....
Go with drugs - I don't believe in suffering if it's not necessary!
Molly, , many people do fear the addiction..
ty lizlin needed the gns.
That was the obvious one! I just couldn't see it for looking!
(I may be a mean nurse; but I don't like people hurting)
<--Doesn't believe Nef is a mean nurse.
my kids think I am! :-)
Me too! I had 3 C Sections, and what I feared most in the aftermath was a coughing or laughing fit! Both were excrutiating!
Whadda kids know?!!!!
Mine too nef..
Laughing after surgery??? Not funny!
ok, nurse just looked at him, it's in his throat (not chest) and she will see if she can get him an expectorant
when I worked ICU, I'd medicate my pts. first; then work them and make them cough and move. I didn't want them hurting; but I did want them moving
I have the meanest friends Liz! They took pleasure in my pain, by making me laugh!!
Laughing after surgery - perhaps not funny - but so good for morale!
Can't the nurse skooch it out with one of those aspirator thingies? (How's that for medical lingo?)
I'm trying to get him to smile, and to distract him
we'll see if the expectorant helps
suction isn't fun, Molly. An expectorant will make him cough
IT's a gravity thing Molly, moving around keeps things from pooling anywhere
Mine did too!
In Jersey, they would say he needs to hahk a loogie.
make me laugh I mean - after surgery! Afterwards it felt great to have laughed!
Suction well, pretty much sucks..and increases chances of infection.
he does indeed, molly!!! (we were both jerseyites when we met, back in 1967...)
As the good old Readers Digest said:- Laughter is the best Medicine!
And it's right!
here I thought it hauwk a loogie!
you guys are grosser than men
You could be right Nef.
(I bet neither spelling is in Enable!)
you're just figuring this out, ruru?
what? Us? ruru, we haven't started yet!
I used this exercise with my patients...Imagine climbing up a steep mountain (take a breath in), when you get to the top look at the view (holding breathe a moment increases pressure to loosen congestion), then go down slowly taking twice as long to exhale as inhale (again, promotes expectoration)
Hey, I always say, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
And your problem with that Ru?
Lets freak RuRu out and talk about 'wimmens problems'...
Jilly do they then have to imagine twirling around in the mountain meadow singing "the hills are alive..."
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Twirling optional
*watches ruru run*
Soodle, that is the fastest way to clear a room of men.
Welcome to the WWW (wonderful world of women) ru
Can I be Mother Superior?
That's great, Jilly! I always told my patients to take 4 big, quick breaths and on the last exhale, I wanted 2 low-pitched coughs (and I'd demonstrate for them). If their cough was high-pitched, they'd have to do it again
You are mean ;) I usually found that holding a breath and letting it out slowly caused a good cough...
Yes Soodle, and I will be Maria. Because as the baroness said "I wouldn't make a very good nun."
*runs from nuns*
Well.. There goes RuRu....
100 down - 9 to go!
How do you solve a problem like Mo-Holly....
<---Is sure that her tainted soul is still on the prayer list of every nun who ever taught her
Jilly, why would you run from nuns?
Don't we get to vote on Mother Superior? Or does the last one out the door get the title?
go liz!
just joking, but actually, the nun at our parish and I do not get along much..
Stidg; You can be Mother Superior! (age has its privledges
Ahhh, dinner delivered...gotta *poof*
bye jilly!
I just don't want to be dumb Liesel who didn't have the good sense to jump Rolf in the gazebo before he went all Nazi boy.
Bye Jilli
bye Jilly
Sorry - JillYYYYYY (not i)
(jilly)
I'm not THAT old nef. I'm retired but not old. I'm just beginning to accept that I'll never be the youngest the room any more, probably.
just go visit in the nursing home and you will be, stidg!
In one fell swoop, Molly's post at 6.58 has RUINED The Soynd Of Music for me for life! Thank You Molly!!!!
Emmm Sound...
Oh, just stick your fingers in your ears and sing "I Am Sixteen Going On Seventeen". You'll forget all about it.
Any clues for the 2nd qu 5 /16 (the middle one) would be really appreciated!!!!
Like royalty, only spelled different.
not from me, Liz. I only have 1 so far.
tyvm!!!!
ty molly.
Doh a Deer, a female deer, Ray a drop of .....tullamore dew.....
thanks, Molly
Me a name I call myself, fa the first two letters in fart
Soh..... Watcha trying to say?.....
Lah dee dah!!!
Ti, what you sneak your poteen into
Damn, I missed la.
Leaving 5 words for later on - probably should get some fresh air - dull and rainy day though!!! :( Enjoy your evenings. Back later :)
Which will bring us back to Doh......
La di dah!
Or do (doh is what Homer Simpson says)
Now, where is Yul Brynner. I want to polka around the ballroom.
I think you're mixing your musical, Molly
No, I'm just on a Rogers and Hammerstein rush.
okay; I'm not much of a movie fan; but I do like musicals
Jeepers. Mollys gone all musical. I'm just going to leave the room. I'm reversing out, unobtrusively, and melting into the background....
Suddenly reappearing...... Hey Molls! Wanna do Mama Mia?
*Turns up the Rogers and Hammerstein REAL LOUD*
It's okay, Soodles, sometimes we have to burst into song (and this must be Molly's time)
Nef!!!!! I'm Irish!!! Sing-songs are part of what I AM!!!!
I know, Soodles; but Molls wants to too!
Not ABBA I don't.
It's one of my DH's favorite groups1 (The other is Iron Butterfly)
Ok! But sing the Molly Special!
I was in a pub one time, & there was a reluctant singer. The host urged him to sing the song he sung at his parent's wedding. Bless him, the significance of it totally passed him by!
LOL!
Speaking of Irish pubs, I got my son the most unique Mullingar pewter shots I have ever seen. It's a leprechaun sitting next to the flagon that forms the shot.
*One of the most
Could someone please clue that upper N for me? Between that and the W I can't see a single word
Sorry, it's technically called a "whiskey measure"
The N sounds like a married maid of honor
thank you, Molly!
a RYE comment for sure
Molly, Mullingar is only about 8 miles from my home. If you want anything else from there, I can get it for you & ship it free.
(and I've been watching the Egyptian programs too)
I probably don't want to know how much money I could have saved doing that Soodle. Considering I like the thing so much I got one for myself too.
Maith an cailin, Molls!
Hey, no one else gets me cool stuff so I either get it for myself or I don't get it.
good for you, Molly.
Gonna bid yiz all a good night now. Once again, thank you all for the smiles and the company (if not the sing song)! Hugs all round(((((())))))
Bye Soodle.
good night, Soodles. Sleep well!
Good sleep to ye lass.
nearing half way!
over half way! I'm thrilled! I've been so exhausted this week I didn't finish a single grid; and didn't even start the last 2!
ryan bought home every hostess item they had at his work lol
did he have a twinkie in his eye?
Did he Ding-Dong the doorbell?
lol...
molly did u hear about 666 and last resort?
he didn't have a snowball's chance in hell
what great zingers from you all
yo ho!
We'll always have the 'Twinkie Defense'...
For those old enough to remember that reference
I used to work for Hostess when I was in college .. in SF
ryans dad used to work for hostess.. he now works for wonder bread and he sayshes got at least 20 calls from hostess employees asking for jobs today
Then you are old enough...
he said they went tot he factory today and the folks met them at the time clock and said "go home, turn in ur keys now"
I hate seeing companies do that RIGHT before the holiday season...sucks big time!
Jilly, I don't know the "Twinkie Defense", but my excuse is that I've never had a Twinkie either
ryan works at 7-11 and theyre upset because hostess will not come pick up the overstocked items they have to either sell it or write it off now
Help with no7 please.
Well, it's actually a tragic history. When Harvey Milk and Mayor Muscone were assassinated, Dan White tried the defense that he had eaten too much junk foot and that is why he shot them..several twinkies were consumed...hence "Twinkie Defense"
no7/32 is negative prefix plus he4/5 word JeeWhiz&hello!
n07=someone who is not brave
no7: joker, catwoman, lex luthor etc
Clues to the rescue!
Thanks, Jilly; I Googled it too.
Thanks jilly will look again. Thanks cos too. Got it.
That's right Jillyjill, here are some clues to the rescue now.
brb
I got my fireworks and have na 4/5 words left so here is a story ad 5/12ed w/clues for my de4/5 Babble friends. Befo4/7 I got married to my ex-husband,I believed that I'd be with him for the rest of my life. My ex was my he 4/5 and I thought he was perfect. Little did I know that I would be seeking an at5/10ey for a divorce. He is now an a no 7/32. We had problems for awhile and I was to 4/5 over what to do,however, after I caught him with a qu 5/16, that was it! I wanted to have him arrested and sent to qu4/8. Instead, I kicked his wh 5/20 loving arse out on the ro 4/5. Da 4/7! Hubby wants the computer. How da 4/5 he take it away from me! I better give it to him. I fe4/7 what he will do if I don't. I'll be back later.
NIce clue story minv!
*Can I remove that comment*
Kind of hard to do, Jilly.
Back for final word - wr 6 - bet it's a plural I've missed!!!
FW!!!!
It is lizlin...lol
WooT WooT WooT lizlin!
YAY, Lizlin!!! WTG!!!
When I came back this morning, couldn't believe how many plurals I'd missed!!!!
I'm just finding that out now too, Liz
Congratulations Lizlin on your fireworks display!Way to go!
(((minv)))
Like the icon clue!!!
Hi, Min. How are you today?
Back later for new grid but I'll be in and out to see if anyone needs any clues. :)
Thank you Jillyjill, but that was totally made up.I do not have an ex-husband. Only been married once. Although I am having problems with current hubby, he has NEVER cheated on me and I do not believe that he ever would.
Hello Nef.I'm well. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend
Oh, Min! I'm so glad to see that! You deserve a relaxing weekend too.
(And I don't have the grandson for the first Friday night in --probably a year!)
Relieved, but hate to hear of any troubles...I know you had illuded to some life situation earlier this week.
Yay for Nef!!
It kind of feels odd, you knoow? But I told my son earlier this week that this was a tough week for me and I've been tired. Wonder if we'll have him tomorrow?
Odd, but well deserved! I'm sure your son understands.
He was laid off from his job 2 weeks ago; after 9 years of working there; giving 110% all of the time. All those mandatory 12 hour days, 7 days/week for the past 6 months... :-(
He was QA supervisor for the largest gaming company in the country; they laid off 1/3 of their permanent staff.
well I just killed the chog! BBS!
No you didn't nef...we got yet another confused call from my mother in law...
hi again all!
Hi uusue...
eening all
Nef, that is so wrong. I'm sorry for your son.
HI jes...
surgeon came by and says Frank is doing well, suggested chewing gum instead of downing lots of ice which his system may not be ready for yet
Whoops, that was in reference to molly..maybe it's me that's confused
back again. Glad to see you all.
hi again nef!
Is there something extra that Frank has for pain, sue?
no, they seem to think he shouldn't need it
Whoops? Confused? I'm lost. I was referring to Nef's son losing his job.
Is he using the pump regularily sue?
oh yes, jill
so, he should just use the PCA Morphine as much as he can til he gets some relief?
fireworks!
No, i typed jes, since she had just been on when I read your comment.
YAY, sue!!!! WTG!!!
WooT WooT WooT uusue!!
yes, that's the plan, and he should be a lot better tomorrow
surgery was just yesterday, after all...
there is a comic featuring the crappiness of working in the gaming industry, nef. perhaps your son would enjoy it/could write stories for them?
http://trenchescomic.com/
And it can be slower with having the second surgery so close to the first.
exactly, jill! I had a hysterectomy (many years ago) and cannot imagine being opened up again 6 days later.

you've gotta start at the beginning, that's just the most recent. but there are stories under the comic that are write-in tales from people who work in the industry
hi again
He's taking it well so far; using ALL of their resources for resumes, interview practice, etc.; and his sick/vac pay; severance and bonus pay will go through til April. I'm not sure about the health insurance though
that's a pretty nice severance pay
I am going to have to get off, my m-i-l is calling again...we just moved her into a retirement place (should be in assisted living but is not) Now is calling several times a day not knowing where she is and wanting us to move her back...*sigh* *poof*
okay, jes. As I said, I'll send it to him. Thanks
bye, jilly. good luck!
good luck, Jilly.
*Says a prayer for Jilly's mother in law* Senior confusion is so sad.
Bye Jilly, so sorry :(
((((jilly)))))
It's especially hard dealing with a senior who has confusion when they are long distance. We had to move my Dad closer to me when that was going on, so that one of us would be able to "be there" for him.
the saddest thing is that Alzheimers is hereditary. I wonder if her MIL also has it?
All I know about her mother in law is the move Jilly just mentioned.
Same here.

Can't complain ...
Nevermore....raven...oh well.
"With the rapping and the tapping .. Can't a bird get some sleep around here?"
Must be said in a Jewish comedian type voice ..
Okay, with the long string of short grids (especially yesterday!) do you think we might rate a big grid for Saturday?
Only if Lickety is on early, eh, Jilly.
LOL, pretty much!
And, torgone, I read it with a jewish comedian accent...
The odds are in favor of a grid over 200 ..

popping out again until flip time.
Cosdem, Hostess pies? Did you read they're going out of business. Time to stock up on Twinkies.
yes thats why i have them :P
I have a shelf full in my fridge of hostess products. one of the perks of being married to a store manager at 7-11 lol
No longer eat sugar, but I loved DingDongs, and HoHos.
the hostess outlet store here is empty. very very empty.
Isn't it sad, after such a long time, to lose part of your youth. One of the first things I discovered when I came to the US.
Very sad. We all grew up with hostess :( Stupid greedy CEOs
well the twinkies will live forever...
because they have enough preservatives to make them outlast coyotes
they're going for at least 10,000 dollars at one ebay post
There's a company called The Vermont Country Store; people often apply to them to find some long- lost candy, or cosmetic, and the company locates a small business that reproduces said item. Soooo, eventually, you will be able to buy your Hostess goodies.
I have found recipes to make twinkies. very easy too.
Hostess says the Twinkies shelf-liofe is 25 days.
**life
lol that doesnt mean anything.
i had a twinkie box last year and i didnt open it for like 7 months and it was still good
They never lasted 25 days in my house.
lol i forgot about them.. otherwise theyd have been gone already
just posted a twinkie cupcake recipe in 'babble community' on FB
hello all - we even get twinkies over here but have never tried one - cant imagine eating a cake made months before
you will crack up Cos .. but in college i made hundreds of thousands of twinkies
Time for a cuppa, before the flip. My 27 words are too well hidden for me to find 'em.
you did? was it easy?
hard labor.. but yes. I remember all the ingredients.. not healthy for sure.
A friend just called to say she boght a gadget for baking them, keep her grandsons quiet, after the cakes disappear from the store.
Im gonna attempt making them for christmas and using food coloring to make them festive
*bought (O<Lord)
I know there are molds for them. I
im gonna check the thrift stores tomorrow
yes, in a lot of catalogues
will check catalogues if store dont have one
hello all..just came in to finish my last two..I did now I have a question.
