i have the ce6
Just what I was going to say! Couldn't clue it better
ill look again
where are you, lady?
i dont think i have been on long enough
.... People live in the us and .... Live in other places - for the 2 nd part of ce 10
what do you mean location or on the puzzle
I mean location -- US, Australia, where?
I have the ce 1- but can't get the ce 6!!!!
should read ce 10
there are two ce6 words
I have one - the almost musical one
LadyLuck 5024 ... Grannyrose has a good clue at 1:08am, for ce10/84
ce 6 is another word for the hundred dollar bill
thankyou im in the usa
the ce 10 is unrelated. I asked lady for her location because it would affect the clue given.
ok, I guess lady is in the USA
i got that one
ok
sorry my computer rebooted
updates haha
my ipad and computer just decided not to talk to each other! had to go out of babble and back in again to get full list of words I'd entered!!!
ce10 -- one penny + **ses are red, viloets are blue + not many but ****
(that's violets, not that it matters)
Vilet sounds very East end of London, Jillibus
or + not often but ****times
An alternative for the 2nd part of that clue is : - .... people live in Australia but .... people live in the US
Like your idea Jilli
thankyou so much
much simpler!
i got it
hooray!
still can't get the other ce 6!
neither can I
Yay lady!
yay me
:)
and I'm going to bed! Goodnight all...*poof
It doesn't like the ce 4 + the first 2 letters of granny's name!
It doesn't like the ce 4 + the first 2 letters of granny's name!
Sleep well Jilli
goodnight and thankyou
the 2 ce6s: $100 bill. small change + v, pl.

Don't understand that!
Excuse me asking - are you new on babble?

<----sleepless here....anyone on?
Hi, Jilly :-)
Phantom :Monsoon
LOL, I am watching The Phantom on PBS here...
lol
good morning everyone:)
Hello. Crossy!
Hello crossy...do you ever sleep?
yes,3 sold hours every night
solid
Well, have been having trouble sleeping this past week. Thought I had gotten it taken care of, but here I sit...
all i can say is to enjoy any sleep over 5 hours in length, you will miss it when it is gone
I would be like a zombie if thats all i had each night.
Tell me about it....
zombie crossy....arrrr......brainsss...
LOL
bed time is usually midnight, toss and turn till 12:30 or 1 am,then sleep till 3,have a pee, choke and gasp with apnea and asthma till 5 then get up for another fun filled day.a power nap of an hour mid day and that is sleep crossy style
Not good but i suppose you are in that routine now..and hard to get out of.
I suppose you have tried a CPAP for the sleep apnea?
very hard
i own a cpap.it has its own issues
1700 dollars of cpap and for now it sits there
I know...hubby has one...
I do not know what that is..i take it..it is for asthma?
people who do not use one wonder at us who fight it sometimes, but you must remember it it not on demand like a o2 mask or scuba gear,it is ramming air down your throat at a specified pressure and it is dry, even with the humidifier chamber ,it is dry
no zooz,it is for the apnea
oops..sorry missed that bit..just re-read your chog.
I know, hubby had quite the time getting his adjusted. But since it can impact mentation, he stuck with it and now is doing well. But went thru I don't know how many mask changes and machine adjustments
Sounds like a tortue mask, Crossy.
Oh zoozzoom, not as big a gaff as I did last evening..
many find it easier using a nasal type mask instead of a 02 style face mask but my snout is not guaranteed to remain open at nights
I need glasses really, but i am kidding myself that my eye sight is 20/20
uh oh,what faux paux did jilly do?
Yes awaiting, jilly for you to spill the beans?
Well, for some reason, when I came back on, the chat didn't load for a minute...I saw a post by uusue that men can be taught to do the dishes...so I posted "mine is doing it right now"
well, chat had NOT finished loading and my reply followed a very colorful joke...well suffice it to say it involved sex..
crossy does 90% of all cooking and cleaning,no steriotyping us lads ladies:))
i love my mrs dearly, but i swear that woman can burn water,so i cook
Bless you, Jilly..lol
LOL, Crossy..i am sure youf wife would be cross at you for saying that.
I know...caused a few heart attacks by those on...
She sounds like my mother in law....
And of course, Jilly the more you try to explain at the time the more they ribbed at you..lol
not really zooz.she knows her limitations.she is good and bathrooms so it is all good
Actually, I think the shock was so much that only one dared to ask me about my comment...
Have you tried to teach her crossy..or is she not bothered?
Not that a few chuckles were not had at me
she just does not have the natural talent to juggle and bring all parts of a meal to a succesfull finish at the same time
I know, my hubby can only cook one dish, so long ago we decided I would cook and he would do the dishes. Like that's hard now that we have a Miele dishwasher...
Thats the good thing about people on babbleland..we can all have a good laugh..well most of the time.
i do not like dishwashers.they do not feel clean enough to me.there is something basic and clean about a basin of water scalding hot and some good dish soap and some good scrubbing
That is true, sometimes I lurk...
I tend not to cook too many days..i find it tedious to cook for one person..a lot of work and effort.
Oh crossy, this one is the best thing I have ever seen. Dishes, silverware and glasses come out gleaming.
I would find that too, two people at times, is not worth the effort
once our son flies the coop ,i will just pre cook a week at a time.do up a pork and beef roast and taters and veggies all at once and pre-make home made dinners for entire week
Surely the cleaning tablet you put in must be a good one..and not a cheap one when things come out limescaly
Yes, no bargain. But with two of us, it is only run twice a week-except for the last few days...
Good idea, Crossy..although i thought you were thinking of going to Bermuda when siblings have left..lol
lol, still have to eat in bermuda
actually was not bermuda but vancouver isle perhaps
This is true..haha
if bermuda would be more fish and rice than beef and tates is all
LOL, well nbt and nbs and feeling like I might head back to the pillows...thanks for keeping me company!
np jilly, crossy can put anyone to sleep
hagd both of you!!
:)
Take care, Jilly..hope you get some shut eye.
LOL, well this is the time I usually get UP, so should be interesting, Thank GOD it's Sunday and I don't have to work!!
Thanks zoozzoom!
yaa for sunday!!
Did you ever get your oil boiler sorted..Crossy..i remember you talking about it being on the blink a couple of years ago?
back in a mo,must see how many moves await me in words with friends..
oil boiler?? was not me i think
No probs..i am off out now..so will see you later on maybe..take care, Crossy.
tc zooz
morning all :)
Evening all :)
seems like sort of a nasty grid
It's easier than it looks at first! Though at 33 left I've just started using the list.

Were there huge crowds, dawg?
yesterday was pretty mundane. no rushes on anything, just a lot of questions like...did you still have this it4 or will you get more in or can i buy the display at a discount?
glad it wasnt too bad..what I see on TV around NY is overwhelming
yuck, grammar and syntax totally trashed in that sentence. :-(
I can't believe people think it's okay to behave as they did in those malls.
dawg, I am not editing..sometimes my grammar is atrocious after I click Enter
well, we'll just blame the early hour! lol
All manners go out the window. I would be afraid to be in the store.
any store
I wonder if they act that way in the high end stores? Tiffany's co4s to mind. lol
tries to imagine black friday on rodeo drive
HaHa...If they acted that way in Tiffany's they would be out in the street, pronto. The store has tons of security and security in plainclothes. That is a gorgeous store.

hi Scrambler
I'm sure you are right Mom. If I had a good teacher, I would probably catch on to crocheting. And it seems like a nice, almost meditative thing to do.
I have finally discovered what's wrong with my brain: On the left side, there is nothing right, and on the right side, there is nothing left.
monkeyed the 10! coffee++

Oops...uh, Good Night Mo4--great children's book.
beautiful book
good morning scrabs
I have read it to my new great-nephew and even at age 3 mo he was captivated. Actually he ended up falling asleep in my arms.
How are you, wv?
love reading with my grandkids - now the 6 year old loves being the reader and will read each page and then hold up the book for us to look at the pictures
That is cute. Literacy and a love for reading are so important for kids.
had thanksgiving dinner yesterday and so slept in this morning to recuperate - but have had a good holiday - and you?
It was our first Thanksgiving Day without my father. My sister and I took our mother out to eat and we had a nice time.
I went to Hungary last week. The night before I left I spoke to my granddaughter on the phone' I heard her dad say 'ask nana if she is going to Budapest' She said very seriously'Nana are you going to be a pest?'
The holidays are a hard time - it can bring back so many good memories
Haha, Deeha, it is funny was kids "hear."
I had a nice dream about my father last night--it was nice to see him.
I 'celebrate' Remembrance Sunday' with my dad, he died on Nov 8th but we always watched the Cenotaph service together. And now I lay a wreath on behalf of the Lionesses which would have made him proud
That is nice, Deeha
halfway, NBT and NBS
Almost halfway and I have nothing longer than 6's
I'm way past halfway and I have nothing longer than 6 :(
I only just looked at the word stats.
at least there aren't so many long words today
Morning folks
haven't listed or looked for anything yet, we'll see
:)
morning!
morning bob
Hi bob
bross
morning scrabbs, wvt, mael & Bob
Won't work, I already tried it, wv
Hi Dan.
sorry - but not a word
good morning dan - how were your holidays
busy, but very nice
and yours?
How is Little2bit?
stats for the 10 pls? is it a compound word?
had two dinners - one on Th Day with hy DIL family and then another one here yesterday - slept in this morning
Hi Ruby
reading the chog brings back all sorts of memories, many good, some sad
ce 10/84
hi scrabs
she's awesome. A little momclingy today, since mrs2bit has been working as a pet-sitter this week, so out making rounds 2x day
looks like it might be a compoud but it is not has a ce4 then another two letter syllable and then so4
she told me this morning that she wanted me to go out of her room and go to work :-)
Little kids are so funny--candid!
Done with you, Daddy. : D
CE 10 - cell biology field, means a small region near the nucleus in the cell cytoplasm, containing the centrioles.
I always read to my son at night, long after he knew how to read, but when we got to the end of Charlotte's Web, I was crying so hard that he read it to me
TY for ce10 clue
yep. but she's little enough that that only lasts about 20 minutes. hard to really mope at that age
ty for the 10
therer are a few books that i cannot read - often when i was teaching we read together Sadako and the Ten thousand Paper Cranes. Could not read that aloud without crying. And also Dr Seuss The Places You'll Go
I think it's good for children to see our reactions, makes it all much more real for them
My favorite age group = 2.5-6. Kids change by 7--they screen what they say, I think they learn about being judged as students so they become more inhibited. But I love having conversations with young kids in my office.
hello all. owuld you believe i am down to 37 and no words longer than 6 letters?
37 left?
when I was a teacher, I prefered 10-12 yr olds
yep
I am stuck with 66 left, no 7's or 8's
can't get the 10, too much liberal arts background
would you like some clues
but 107 4 5 and 6 letter words???
prefix for "in the middle" then so4
Scrabbler have you ever come across a poem that starts 'I was once the \mary.....' I cry every time over that
make that 108 :(
ce10.. a penny is one **** + a **se by any other name + h*** on the range
last 5 letters rhyme with what genes/DNA are arranged in--we have 46
thank you scrabbler for spoonfeeding me the 10
co have both a 7 and a 8
No, deeha--I must look that up
Ruby, I would never have gotten the 10 from the definition either.
I was written by a Kent headmaster and author
ty
2 x co7, 1 x co8
IT not | was written!!!
“She is Gone†(Short poem by David Harkins of Silloth, Cumbria in the United Kingdom) You can shed tears that she is gone Or you can smile because she has lived You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her Or you can be full of love that you shared You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday You can remember her only that she is gone Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn you back Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
I printed this poem in a nice font and framed it for my late friend's husband, for the 4th anniversary of her death last month.
lovely quote, ty scrabbler, for sharing
what a beautiful poem
He is now 43 and the kids are 12, 8 and 5.
That is lovely I will print that out. Thank you
The words are so well chosen and written. I tear up whenever I read it.
Just tuned in and am deeply moved by your post Scrabbler. Lost my mum on Friday so it's very timely for me. I will share it with my sisters. Thank you
{{chrissieDee}} very sorry for your loss
Oh, no, Chrissie. I am so sad for you and your family. ((Chrissie))
from left column n have ni6/21; no 4/5; no5/12; no4/5. missing?
sorry for you loss chrissie - hope those words can help to bring some comfort at this time
Deeha, could you give me a link for the Kent poem. Dr Google is not easily helping me.
Chrissie, so sorry about your loss.
i am sorry, chrissie.
we have gone through so many losses together in this group, even in the short time I've been part of it
thank you all for your kind thoughts
it is a wonderful, safe place to get support when we need it
Grief is so intense, so brutal, and there is no way to speed up the healing, it just takes time to process it all.
I'm so sorry chrissie
Chrissie, may I ask, had your mother been ill or was this unexpected?
It is intense Scrabbler. And it's the time, more than any other, that you have to lean on others to help you through.
The loss of a loved one sure messes up one's emotions and view of life SO much. I have come to realize that dealing with mortality, our own and others, and dealing with grief, are the ultimate challenges in life.
It was sudden Scrabs. She was 78 and frail, but not particularly ill. She has been "out of sorts" since having the flu jab a few weeks ago. She was talking to my sister on Friday afternoon and became short of breath. My sister rang the doctor who said ring an ambulance. In the time it took to make the phone call mum stopped breathing and didn't start again.
I have 2 sisters and I am usually the strong one, the organiser, but I had surgery for bowel cancer in August and am a quarter of the way through a 6 month course of chemo, which is tough. No strength for this.
Oh, no. How awful for all of you. Rest, allow your sisters to do more stuff, just be with your shock and sadness.
sorry to off load like this, but I do agree Ruby, the Babble community is really supportive
You will be in a daze for many weeks.
it takes so much longer than you think it will to warp your head around things, Chrissie. I lost my mom, who was 76, in a very similar and sudden way. I'm so, so sorry.
No apologies necessary. Like I said, it's a time you need to lean on people.
My father died unexpectedly in front of me as we were talking in April. Bam, his heart stopped and he was staring off. Utter shock, disbelief.
chrissie - what a doubley hard time you are having - and don't be sorry about sharing - you need to have a place to talk about all of this - we might be far away but we are always here for you and i will keep you in my thoughts and prayers
It's awful, isn't it, mael? Yet, my father was blessed to have a sudden death--no hospital stay, no nursing home, no prolonged illness and weakness. The end was perfect for him although tough for all of us family.
"Normally the strong one" doesn't apply when it comes to losing a loved one. It knocks you right off your pins and you are just as fragile and hurt as anyone else.
Chrissie, just be with the emotions. Don't fight them or talk yourself out of them. Just let them be. This is an enormous event to process.
It is incredibly awful, I had no idea I could feel like they ripped a limb off my body. But it gets better. The pain eases, and her memory becomes even sweeter.
It is so painful to imagine life moving on without that loved one present anymore.
I haven't found a word in 20 minutes.
have also slowed to aslow, slow crawl
there is a poem that helped me, Chrissie. It's a little trite, but it soothed me.
“Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am in a thousand winds that blow, I am the softly falling snow. I am the gentle showers of rain, I am the fields of ripening grain. I am in the morning hush, I am in the graceful rush Of beautiful birds in circling flight, I am the starshine of the night. I am in the flowers that bloom, I am in a quiet room. I am in the birds that sing, I am in each lovely thing. Do not stand at my grave bereft I am not there. I have not left.†― Mary Elizabeth Frye
That one is a classic, mael.
Monkey just found 4 words
I'm making progress, 16 to go
the Ms are a pain
Afternoon All, Sorry about your new Chrissie - my dad died like that last year and it still hurts - you think about when you talked to them last and wonder if you could do anything - but it does get better slowly
I need 12 Ms
i need 13!
3 left for me, ugh
((Kazzer)) It sure is difficult.
How is your Mom doing, Kazz?
54 to go and my eyes need a break. Maybe I'll be back tonight.
not too good Molly - she is still not doing anything and the partkinsons is getting worse and the diabetes is still unstable but she seems happy enough
Well it sounds like she has at least moved beyond the grief a little bit. Sorry the other things are still a problem.
sorry, not ignoring your comments, sister just rang. Scrabs, sorry hear about the way your dad passed, but I am taking the same comfort in that it is a good way to go for the departing loved one
I agree Chrissie - my dad would have hated being stuck in a bed lingering
true, but I am feeling the same as you did - if I was well and had been able to visit her like I used to would I have spotted something wrong
The comfort I have is that the last words I spoke to mum on the phone were "I love you Mum"
i am slowly convincing myself that I wouldnt have because it was so quick and he was v good at saying he was fine when he obviouly wasnt
Dont think that was, Chrissie, dont start blaming yourself an saying 'if only..' You wouldnt have been able to stop it. Take comfort in knowing your mum left peacefully knowing you loved her
thank you Deeha
I mentioned a poem to Scrabbler earlier but when I googled it I couldnt find it so I have put it on my profile. It is a lovely Christmas poem written by a Kent Headmaster namd Benard Ashley
very poignant Deeha

weird word
I tried it on a lark

The definition says it's what a private compartment on a train is called.
Although, I have booked those compartments, and that is not what they are called. At least here in the US.
Thanks, found it, but I agree, it is a weird word
Clue for the lone o in the centre column, please?

Hi Teach

I am doing ok, glant, have asked friends for help (which is hard to to)
Asking friends for hep is always hard but I am sure thye are pleased t be able to help and to know what t do (experience of being a helpless friend is that it is frustrating and saddening)
you will probably find that they are very happy you have asked and have been desperate to help
you are right, glant
Moral suport, demonstrated in practial and loving ways is just so uplifting when you feel you're at the end fo your tether
indeed it is (and the end of my tether gets rather close sometimes)
My US friends sent me a 'care pachage' in the mail - must have cost them a fortune to post LOL - but it meant so much to me to know thta soembody, somewhere, cared enough to do it
stidmama sent me a care package too, which was very nice! Yay stidmama!!
If there is anything I can do, please ask - my email is in my profile - and I would be pleased to help if I can
Yay Stidmama!
I'll send you a note, glant
and thanks!
yw
en6,21 please, my last word, can't seem to find it.
So many people don;t know how to react to friend with a cancer diagnosis - I losty most of my friends when I was struggling withncancer treatments -s o sad - but at least I found out who the improtant people were - and it was a bit of asurprise
to tempt someone into something
en6/21 - coemhither, girl, come hither
that is tough, glant, so far my friends have been very supportive (a lot of them have dealt with serious health issues themselves)
Thanks so much, just couldn't see it, fini!

our cable has music channels and we are listening to golden oldies - reminds us of our youth :-)
:-) always good Sue
indeed (Frank and I dated when we were in high school, then split up, then got back together 38 years later, so these songs are from "before")
so romantic
:-)
I split up woth my forst husband in 1978 - when I was 22 and have often wondered how things might have worked out if we'd bth been a bit more maturee
69 left. Taking a break now. All the best to you and your hubby uusue. Thanks for the great clues Glantarell - bye!
Because, apart form his complete inability to manage money, we seemed to have a good relationship
Bye biltong

Hi Molly
Hi Glant. Playing "what if?" : )
bye biltong!
and hi molly!
What if?
What if it had worked out with the past relationship
Oh, I see, what of he hadn't had money issues, maybe things would have worked out
I'm not getting to babble expert with the link it says link not found
Lots of 'what if' in my life
http://r46.me/BabbleExpert20110410.zip
Okay, then a) the link in Sue's profile is no good and b) you have to email Mr. President and I don't have her email address.
try that, somehow the earlier one got corrupted
That is the one I just posted Sue.
looks ok in my profile, let me see if it needs fixing
the extension (.zip) was messed up, Molly
no it's not, her original had garbage in the .zip extension
Oh I see, the zip part of mine wasn't right.

hi carlee!
hi sue {{hugs}}
( taking a break from essay writing...about to get into the juicy bits)
ah, breaks are important then!
its a fun essay that i have been thinking about for weeks....finally have it to point to put down in word
well, that should be actually kind of fun, I think (not much of a writer myself...)
( is on st. augustine....and how his manichean upbringing and the negative view of sex the manichean's held as doctrine...and how augustine incorporated this view in combination with original sin....I go on to prove how this doctrine from st augustine is still a fundamental issue in the RC church today..some 1600 years later
interesting!
its fun :)
anyway...back to the essay... have a good day all!!!
Frank agrees with your thesis (he was raised RC)
... but I thought he had fun with sex ... at least until he went back to teaching and running the church?
Hi uusue and carlee and doseffing
He did when he was young and foolish but then found God and became quite conflicted. It still happens
... ah yes ...
hi bugs!
hi sue. I loved your letter to everyone today. It was a perfect example of how to take control when nothing seems controlable
ah, thanks, bugs! People are coming around, too, which is really nice.
(digging out my Great Courses cassettes on St. Augustine...)
hi jane!
my dad has a bazillion of those Great Courses, mostly on DVD
All you have to do is buy one and you get their catalog forever!
howdy my babble friends

my dad really enjoys them, dos, but he is 91 and doesn't have the internet at home
bo6/7, crying
... I just get tired of doing high school math all the time ... I'll have to take a closer look ... thanks
and hi, crossy, you snuck in while I was chatting on Facebook!
Hello all!
hey jj
suze!
howdy jilly
Hi harp, nice job with both the drum and organ. If anyone didn't leave bouncing last night....
Hello again crossy..
Hi uusue
lol suze, you snuck back in while i ws reviewing a movie we are going to see tomorrow.the life of pi
looks like a nice light feel good movie
thanks jilly, i always feel pretty exposed up there....without a bigger instrument to hide behind!
That was the 'required reading' book for my son when he started his freshman year at college
Boy the Bond movie was great. Skyfall was the first time I really enjoyed a Bond movie.
I think we are going to see Lincoln next weekend. Everyone is raving about it.
b's be-littled!
I'm not a Bond fan, but all the Bond fans I know say Skyfall is great.
I know I want to see Lincoln.
Harp, isn't it nicer to not have something big to drag to church?
Several people have told me that the audience applauded at the end of Lincoln. It's been a long time since I've seen a movie that good.
lol yes, jilly
several people told me it is the first time Lincoln was successful in a theater!
*groans*
Yucka yucka
you can thank your son for that jj, i think....
Probably...about his speed, assuming it was John?
i think so, it was on FB, if not john it was someone of his ilk....
(feels herself getting in deeper...)
Yup... *hands harp a shovel*
Speaking of John, he wants to Skype call now...so...*poof*
I've heard Life of Pi is really good - the book was awesome
(was doing things around the house, every once in a while I have some energy)
I'm eager to see what they've done with it - I thought the book was awesome too
The New York Magazine film critic really liked it
boom
sorry!

*hugs Soodle and dances through the PB with her*
oooh yay jellyfish!
: )
that one was very very weird

Jilly logged in last night after a sex joke and said "my husband is doing them now" referring to someone doing the dishes, that had been said ten minutes previous. So we all wondered what Mr. Jill was up to.
not sure I get your question, Jjill... could it be the one that ends in yourself?
apologies, jilly, if that's not the one you're not ;)

hi
evening, jane
everyone all snuggled into their post shopping cocoons?
we did no shopping this weekend.
i only left the house to feed friends' cats and medicate one of them. :)
good for you. i bought a few things at a fundraiser and ordered a book. have to venture out to get some coffee beans for the morrow.
I do most of my shopping on line, and like it that way. : )
i try to support the local small businesses but i actually buy such a small amount that my contribution barely matters!
I would love to support local small businesses. But here in suburbia, we don't have any.
sad
Very
I have made very good friends over the years by shopping locally.
rooms
yup, suz!
Good evening BabbleLand
Back for my last 21.
So after that two minutes, are you going to stick around and chat? : D
Hello again..I do think I am officially tired of turkey...;)
<----likes molly's post
lol, i had it for breakfast lunch and dinner!
Hey, it took 5 minutes for you to respond.
I am officially done with turkey. All the broth and leftovers are in the freezer.
Well, due to my somewhat offset sleep last night...breakfast and lunch were sort of merged.
But not to worry, I am not done yet.
Turkey carcass boiling now. 2 qts of meat in freezer, finished last of leftovers and probalby 7-8 qts broth by then end of it...think I got my monies worth
Molly, I spent the afternoon boiling the bones. The broth is cooling. Mrs Wht will make soup tomorrow.
brb
m's are mangled
Cat threw up...*sigh*
Aw, what a waste not want not group. : )
mine did that too today
h's hurdled!
Go harp!!
clue for the co7 before the make-up, please.
what a queen might put on her head
sounds like a musical instrument related to the bugle
ty harp. That might not be a fish, but it is no more than an amphibian.
co8?
Fireworks.
WooT WooT WooT wht!
Make-up. Harp.
Do you need a clue fo rhe 8 harp?
Or a kind of surgery.
Revlon is a co/8 company
yes please
thanks
*knocks gently on screen* harp? wht?
what, who, where, must have dozed off.
LOL...
*imagines a chog where everyone on actually chatted*
what would you like to chat about, Jill?
Well, just looking at Who's online..93...and that thought came up...not really directed at a demand to chat...LOL, that being said, how was your Thanksgiving wht?
It was nice. My sister from Ohio and my sister from across town and her family came. And our daughter and s-i-l.
We had a better than expected time.
It was the first holiday where our son wasn't there because he is in Atlanta. But then, the reason he couldn't come up was that he started a job 3 weeks ago.
Same here, I think some of it was the appreciation one gains about life events the older one gets.
Some of it may also be lowered expectations. :^)
Also, our daughter has turned into a bit of a hostess so she was able to entertain while Mrs Wht and I were finishing up the meal prep, and so on.
That always helps.
My best friend and I have had a 20+ year tradition of potlucking Thanksgiving. Thursday at her house then leftovers at mine. Always someone new. And so much less stress.
My wife loves to make Thanksgiving dinner. It is her favorite meal to make, so she has it down, so it doesn't frazzle her. And we have done it enough times that we can not get in each others' way at the end when everthing is happening at once.
<----imagines wht and mrs wht waltzing in kitchen!
Waltzing is another story entirely. Not nearly so polished.
The only time I tend to get stressed is in the slicing of the turkey..most years a little tense. Trying to get it done and to my friends house on time.
Maybe that is why I end up slicing the turkey.
*sigh* my husband carves it too, it's just that he has no sense of time...
Jilly, your comment about chat is duly noted. I'm always amazed at how many people are here, but don't chat. Unless they are all, always logged in (like me, I never log out). But I don't think they are.
I don't log out. What's the point?
Yep, I am too, but I know there are a significant number that never chat.
That's my point as well.
I am always logged in as well.
Okay, let's say 50% are always logged on..that's a huge number that still don't chat.
After a certain amount of inactive time, you don't show up in Who's On Line anymore, even if you are still logged in.
Of course none of US, every lurk...*evil laugh*
Inactive as in non-playing, or non-chat? Why would Dr. G care about chatting?
I play with chat turned off when it's a major clue fest in chat and I'm not done yet.
As in you don't show up in Who's On Line.
I assume it's playing not chatting champ
But sometimes I'm so engrossed in what I'm doing that I don't notice the chat, even when it's open. I CAN focus, on occasion! ;)
Inactive as in you are not hitting your keyboard for anything here. I don't think Dr. God cares. I just think it's a function of how Who's On Line works.
When I am working on the grid, I don't even notice the chat.
Well, actually I need to bow out for the night...have several scholarship letters to do for my teens..
*poof*
But sometimes I look up to discover a clue fest going on and I see a wonderful clue, but the request has already scrolled off so I don't know what it was a clue for.
Night Jilly
<--- also never logs out
Hi Sue, how are you and Frank doing tonight?
We are good, wht. Had some visitors this afternoon, which is always good.
Didn't hurt that one of them did some cleaning, and they all brought food that Frank can eat
Those are good visitors to have, sue.
Nice and thoughtful!
they are all academics, too, so the discussions were lively and intellectual
Sue, you are very lucky to have friends who will clean your house and do your laundry. They are few and far between.

If you want me to write a story for you jmcnrick I will do it.
good for you jilly. . .what were the letters about if i may be so rude
haha not if i am the last dog standing min. . . but nice of you to offer
LOL, no problem, they are for seniors in my youth ministry program
yay min!
how nice of you to do that jilly
Well, they usually are the teens who serve as leaders. So it's a joint back scratching job..LOL
still many people don't bother with such things these days mores the pity
Tonight it was for two; one who is applying for a mentoring program (she's in college now) and one for a scholarship for college.
I would certainly hope they would bother...our youth are very much worthy of our investment!!
Hi - hope you've all had a good weekend :)
Hi again lizlin!
hi liz. . . tiring with the family and all
Hello Lizlin! How are you doing? Welcome to the chat log.
Guess I'm too late to offer clues to anyone!
no i am still chugging along
And I do have to admit that I have a few 'canned' examples saved through the years that save me a little time. It'll only be busier as the year progresses.
OK - I'm here for a while (hubby's busy digging in the garden!)
nothing wrong with using a template
<----we'll all fight to clue for you jmc!

how about the other 8 I have co8 the surgery
re8/45
Not sure yet - it's a real heat trap! Main thing is we're removing a path - got to put new fencing in (regulations about swimming pools) - lots of destruction before we can be constructive
re??????
What you rent on a train to sleep in.
ro 8 /45?
a little version of the word before it
Sounds like no fun lizlin
The regulations are stupid! Treat everyone like idiots!
tyty
you would want the fence anyway. . . would want animals and things to drown in pool
<----glad she lives in the county and hope city never annexes her
Someone in NSW is being sued for manslaughter because a neighbour's kid got lost and wandered into the pool.
We've got fencing and self locking sliding doors but they're changing the laws

I have a job in the me5/12 area where I do not like my bo4/6 She is a cr5/12.I think she was bo4/6 to co 4/6 to work and make people miserable. She is a ro 5/10 person to be around and puts a spell on anyone who cr5/12es her path. She walks around like she is wearing a co7/32 and everyone should bow down to her when she approaches them. She also has an en5/12ous attitude problem. She is also a big mo5/12 and has no clue what she's doing. I hope that she gets fired very so 4/4 and they to 4/4 her out of the school. If not, I think she should get back on her br5/16 and fly back to the cave she came from. I co 4/6 ho 4/6 everyday and complain about her. I have to get up early tomo5/12w mo4/6ing so I am going to get off my bo4/6om & go on 4/4 bed in my bedro4/5. I will be back here at the no4/5al time Monday night.
