My fault -- it was dark and I was trying to restore the satellite on my gps -- missed a sudden red light and banged into a car crossing in front of me. Both airbags deployed. Other car's driver unhurt -- no passengers, thank goodness.

hi, all. The other day, I posted in the chog about being burdened for my mother, who has had cancer. She thinks it may have returned, although her doctor is not certain yet, but she withheld this information from me and I heard about it from my daughter, whom my mother did tell. I spoke to my mother about it, and she said she did not want to "worry" me about it, so she did not tell me. I told her that I did know about it, and wanted to find out more, so that I can pray more effectively. I also told her, "I am a big girl now; I may indeed get upset; I may cry, but I will get over it," and that I had placed the whole situation in God's hands and I'm not at all distressed about it. My mother said, "maybe you are stronger than I thought you were." I reminded her that she had brought me up to BE strong in many ways, and that, "you cannot temper steel without putting it through fire, and I have been through the fire a few times." She promised she would tell me everything, good or not, after she goes to the doctor in a couple of weeks.

Maybe it would show her great support if you went to the doctor with her if that is a possibility.
Marc, I will not be able to go to the doctor with her, but my aunt said she would go with her, and I'm sure my dad will also go with her. I can imagine many things that are likely far worse than the reality will be, so it's better to know than to be kept in the dark about it.
Maybe she's not strong enough to have you by her side this time Angel. I work in palliative care, it can be tough on all fronts... <hug> my thoughts for you and your fam.

Yes, we got a foot of snow this past week and it is snowing now. We will have new snow everyday for the next several days. It is beautiful--trees holding the snow.

The park has a "warming hut" with a wood stove and that is much of the fun of using the trails. I like to relax in there when I finish exercising. I read a book, or play Scrabble with friends.
Snowshoeing is hard work. I use trekking poles, that helps.

Yes, with Mary's kids. There is a hill near their home.
There is a very steep, exciting hill at the park here. I used to take my nephews there.

i bought special earphones for the tv because of course you have to turn it up really loud to hear it over the treadmill, so i got these wireless headphones that you have the base connected to the tv and then you can just listen at a reasonable volume
And handwarmers are great--little pouches to place in mittens. I use them when temps are in single digits and lower.

i love a grew clambake on the beach here! steamed everything, in seaweed and white wine, somethings boiled like lobster. We dive off the boat into a cove and bring up lobsters if they are keepers. The clams are dug in Ipswich and are small and sweet! Add some corn relish and mussels or striper, white wine or beer.

Yes - though my hubby's doing most of the digging! Well, we've moved a small palm tree, agapanthus (they'll grow anywhere as will the motherinlaw's tongue) and a large spiky plant (helpful) that was getting too big and spearing people as they came up our front path.
