my backup is expresso coffee in the freeezer and an Italian pot -- only when the machine brteaks or we don't have power

Don't know what your belief system is, hurshy, but I've nearly died 3 times and one of those times was given the gift of briefly visiting "the other side." It was incredibly wonderful, comforting and loving.

That's a tough one, ruby. However, you could offer it in the form of a question. Such as, "are you thinking of _____?" or "Do you mean ________?".
Ruby, I might phrase it as..."Are you thinking of ****?" That way they 'save face'.
and ruby, I find it depends on their mood. Sometimes I know the word; sometimes I wait.
And, yes, that comes from dealing with my DH

DH quit driving when he had his bad MS relapse 2 1/2 yrs ago. He drove me to 1 doctor appt. when I had the hip replacement last year; but decided to drive down to the county courthouse to pay taxes this fall and did $2500 damage to the car. He says now that he's done driving... I hope so!

Don't know if you remember the neighbor downstairs who was leaving her dogs on the small walled-in patio for 15 hours at a stretch and they barked and howled.......finally got that taken care of. One of my cats has seizures about once a month so I am very protective of him....and all three of them are incredibly affectionate with me. They were all three strays and I'm sure they love me more because they remember being homesless.
We went away for 2 weeks to see my parents and one friend stayed and we paid him $200. Instructions were - clean out both cat boxes every day. The litter is flushable and the boxes are in the same room as the toilet. I was heart broken to come home and find that for 2 weeks no wet litter had been dumped in the toilet. The house smelt and the boxes were solid in the bottom. I was so angry
