Hi all -- and glad to see Lickety
hi jilli and everyone else still here
ch7
yes, me too jilli, very glad to see Lickety
Hi there, flosey.
hi peach
how are you doing?
Pretty well today. How are things with you?
good thanks peach, going over to Vancouver to see my girls for a few days - Friday to Wednesday
Oh, good for you, flosey. Is that far from your house?
ferry ride then bus from the ferry to centre of Van. where they will pick me up
Sounds great.
unless I decide to fly - takes about 20 minutes to downtown Van. (float plane) we'll see
the long way takes about 3 hours all told
lol, peach, the ferry ride is an hour and a half plus 35 minutes getting to that terminal plus waiting time -- so it is far from flosey's house!
The plane ride sounds like fun. Have you ridden it before?
float plane is great in good weather but the forecast is for heavy rain and it was foggy up here tonight, flosey.
yes, when I was over helping daughter when her son was born, I flew home weekends to be with hubby
What is your weather like tonight?
it's foggy here, peach, as I just said.
was wet, but no rain that I remember
Rain is in the forecast
Well, I hope it will be better flying weather before you go. I love to fly but try not to in winter.
so, will likely take the ferry - there's a nice buffet lunch on the ferry, and I'll take a book along
it is more expensive, but so much faster
being retired, time doesn't always matter so much
The way the ferry fares are rising, flying may end up cheaper!
lol, yes, afraid we're in for a few hikes with the ferries
wonder if they'll take away the free seniors sailings jilli
stupic BC Ferries and gov'ts -- it IS our highway system.
seniors ride the ferries free Monday to Thursday
yes, of course it is
but our cars don't!
I'm not driving
oh, yes, that's much cheaper. I can't do that easily.
I don't know Vancouver well enough to drive and don't need a car while there
Lucky you, flosey. I have to find my way, hence the GPS. Which got me into trouble at Xmas.
Maybe you will meet some nice people on the ferry. I love to talk, makes the time pass more quickly. I was flying once and noticed a bunch of people in the terminal.....I've never seen so much gold all in one place in my life. I was seated next to one of the band members...he was trying to read a Louie Lamour book....poor thing....little did he know he was going to be talking for the next 45 min. Turned out to be the Tepmtations and the one I was talking with was Melvin Franklin. He was a great to talk with. I didn't know who they were until we landed and my daughter picked me up and said that they were performing here that afternoon.
I bet he enjoyed talking, peach!
very interesting, peach
Hi ladies. What happened with the GPS Jilli? I always trust mine in Vancouver
hi Bugsy
nbt -- hi bugs!
He seemed to be enjoying himself.....told me about touring abroad. He died a few years ago. Only Otis Williams is left of the originals.
brb
hi flosey. My sister and her husband went on the ferry to have lunch with their son in downtown Vancouver to celebrate them both being seniors. The whole day cost them $1.50 for the bus!
yes, we seniors do have some advantages
but what a thrill to have met him, Peach
bugs, I was trying to get it to work on Dec 23, after leaving the ferry heading for the Tsawwassen Inn. Missed seeing a red light. Crashed into a car crossing in front of me. Totalled my Toyota. Thought you knew.
I knew you had crashed but not how the GPS was a part of it. I am sorrry
Too bad my son and family don't live in Vancouver but in Mission.
Moral -- if you want to fix a GPS, pull over.
absolutely jilli!
It was, flosey.
I met Paul Brandt once when I was working as a cashier in a store and he just came in. I had no idea who he was but the other cashier was going nuts because she was a huge fan.
Bugs, that's right -- but hard to do when near an intersection amid streaming traffic offloading from the ferry.
Who is Paul Brandt? I'm a mjusical dinosaur.
I tried to let her serve him then and she was too excited. He just laughed at us arguing about who would serve him.
He is a country singer jilli
a good natured country singer in fact
No wonder I never heard of him -- not into country sining
*singing
me neither. that was why I was clueless. Then I was worried that he was insulted so we were quite the comedy team
or country sinning ;-)
I must be off to bed. Another busy day tomorrow. Happy Babbling
good night Bugsy, sweet sleep
any clues availabe for the bo7 & 8?
don't have them jilli
Gnight bugs -- I'm busy tomorrow too.
Sweet dreams, Bugs.
bo7 and 8 - Irish drum(s)
Or maybe not, the singular is right.
thanks Haz, yes the singular
hello Haz! I have no idea about Irish drums, I'm afraid.
flosey is so clever
googled it jilli
The bo8 is different, ends in a tiny insect, anagram of what flies in a clock.
bo7 - b plus two thirds of a poem (two letters), start of my name, three letters for moved quickly.
It's that hand-held drum played with a little stick thing.
going to get ready for bed - don't want to disturb hubby later
ty Haz - I'd been trying around that word for ages - knew there was a drum somewhere there but just couldn't remember! Thought I was getting mixed up with a city in Turkey eventually!
Hi again :)
hello :)
Hello, LIz. I'm glad you found it, the pronounciation bears no resemblance to the spelling.
Hello, demi.
Hi Demi - hope all's well with both of you!
Don't know where I'd seen in written - in some fiction book or something. Just knew it rang a bell!
i am well, rich not so. took him to dr earlier. he has ear infection.
Poor Rich! Hugs and stuff from us :)
thanks, Haz -- I *had* thought those first four letters were right...
Back shortly, off to do the station run with daughter.
Hi Jilli :)
hello Liz and demi
so now what's the bo8? there's no S for a nice plural ;-(
back again, hi Liz and Demi
haz clued it at 1:38, but I am yet to get it.
Ah! The 8 I don't have! In fact, I only have one 8!
boI'll settle for a clue for the other 8, please!
(forget that introductory bo)
That was the food related one! A meal Jilli - part breakfast, part a midday meal!
That's a br 8
ty liz -- I had the first part -- didn't know it could be a verb, sigh. But NBT anyway!
WTG Jilli! I'll be back later. Look after yourself. Bye Demi. Wish Rich better :)
see ya later liz.
Bedtime for me...goodnight/day/evening all...*poof
May I please have a clue for ca7-36 the 1st? Thanks
don't have it Peach
Thanks anyway, flosey
ca7/36 - able to fall over?
Or able to plus a word that can mean either to stumble or a journey.
Thanks so much, Haz.
You're welcome.
thanks Haz, odd to me
It's new to me as well.
Well, my peeps, it's time for me to try to get some sleep. Have a great day or night. Thanks for all the help.
me too Peach, goodnight all, be back in the morning
Goodnight, sleep well.
hi Haz
Hello, lynxx. Sorry, I was flitting about doing things.
hi, morning for you - I understand
Yes, and for once the sun is shining.
We're starting to see a bit of a change in that it's getting lighter earlier both morning and evening.
hence your icon photo. It does seem as though you have all had a rather wet winter
It's been horrible. I just wanted to look at somewhere that was warm and sunny to remind myself that the sun DOES shine some places.
The fields are just sodden and farmers are starting to worry about how they're going to get sheep into fields again once they've lambed.
Lambing is March?
First lambs will start late December (some pedigree breeds), then Texels in February, hill sheep won't finish until the end of April. It's a long season.
Interesting, I thought the lambs would all be in Spring. Is that man's intervention - so we get to eat spring lamb?
Some breeds (Dorsets) can lamb twice a year, just to confuse the issue! And I suppose the spring lamb we eat is from the previous year.
I think maybe vets have got into the act - like to spread the workload - what do you think
That'll be it!
and are you getting excited about the new pup...does he have a name yet
Yes, he's called Dempsey. Just another 2 or 3 weeks to go. I'm drowning in paper at the minute with the Festival stuff, but once that's over it'll be time to get him settled in.
that thought will help you process the paper efficiently - and fast
The printer was making strange noises, it's not used to doing so much work!
I have found recently they need a break - do in smaller batches
Yes, I think that's the secret, they don't seem to appreciate doing too much at one go.
I was printing stuff with some color. In batches of 40 it was bleeding all over the place and going stripey. In batches of 20 it was perfect
I think everyone has an argument or two with their printer at one time or another.
I was so worried that this one was going to give up that I bought a new one (in the sale and not very expensive). The old one started behaving beautifully so I've yet to unpack the new one.
they are so cheap now..I bought a wifi one (b&w only) for $70. My 6 yo laptop was too old to run it so gave it to my son. Now have new laptap but using expensive printer I bought some years ago - happy to get my money back by using it.
Yes, the dearest element these days seems to be the ink.
Happy to have found a good local supplier online at a 1/4 of the cost of the recommended toners - I am not doing photos so don't care so much about quality
Goodness, that's a huge saving! I tend to buy ink online as well, although there's a good local business supplies place here that's fairly reasonable too.
I know - the cost of the inks was the reason why I put the expensive printer in the cupboard for a few years - very happy to find this source
Did somebody recommend it to you or did you just do some research?
just looked and as it is local it popped up on top...was actually trying originally to find one my husband had used ( which was twice as much)...obviously I recommend it to everyone now (though maybe not in Ireland!)
No, I imagine the shipping costs might just outweigh any savings!
Well, I must head off to get ready to go out. Enjoy the grid, a few interesting words along the way. See you again!
have a good day Haz
Thanks, bye!
good morning all :)
hi, sprite! how goes it?
hi rbud :) Going ok here. My love has an inflammation of his leg, but it seems to be going in the right direction now. For the rest all is well. How are you and yours?
not too bad. just the usual aches, pains, and screwups, lol. nothing a little money won't fix, for the most part.
ouch yes... :) We need a money blessing all over babble. Let it rain! (money!)
hubby took a spill the other night and broke his glasses and part of his top denture. (thus the need for money.) he's got some cuts and scrapes, but he's okay otherwise.
am glad he isn't hurt too badly. Hope he will heal up fast and you will be blessed with some unexpected money.
yes, I'm all for the money blessing! :)
that left side of the grid is very tight
hello Sprite & Rosebud
hiya, lynxxx
hello lyn :) xxx
hmmm, I find I can no longer get into my flicker account to add photos, they've done something tricky to the logging in. (haven't tried to get in for months)
I had to log in again some time ago too. But I did and now it works fine again.
well, I try, and it looks okay for a little bit, but then it veers off into creating a totally new account no matter what I do.
oh that stinks :(
I was just reading some "help" questions about it, and it looks like many people are having the same problem.
think I'll try emailing them to see if something can be done.
that is so irritating. Well, maybe they will fix it soon, if it is a general problem.
gooooooooooooooood morning fellow babblers xxx
hello worzel
hi worzel
hi gang. Hope you're all having a good day? xx
if i don't reply it's cos me comp is on something of a goslow for some reason x

I keep trying around the bo* rhapsody, but I don't think that is it.
well its not where the crystal comes from
its a tough one
:)
BO 7 - bo*y of water & con & walked fast
wow Lindrick... thank you. New one for me.
yvw, it is a small irish drum I think
ah yes, indeed. Will try to remember. 'The handsome man in his kilt had a bo7 in his sporran"
surely those are scottish?!
tyvm!
they are. But who cares. As long as it helps me remember, lol
yvw
LOL
I think the irish also have sporrans - they certainly have tartans
there we go. Committed to memory.
gm all
hi Legend
fireflies. Nice grid.
hi Legend
Congrats Sprite!
anything I can help with before I go?
clue for the bo8 and the te8 please
the bo8 is an odd one. Start with the Bo****an Rhapsody. Switch 3rd and 4rd letter. Add two letters at the end to make it rhyme with dyna****.
the te8 is a Hebrew plural. It means idols or images reverenced by the ancient Hebrews and kindred peoples, apparently as household gods.
ty
yvw. Bye all, have a peaceful evening and a blessed day.
terte
still dont get the bo8 can anyone help please
I'll try and work on sprite's clue - bo + anagram of a word meaning half e.g. ****sphere + the last 2 letters of the explosive that sprite mentioned.
bo + addicts go to r**ab + ter****s eat the wood in your house
How about some more help with the te 8 pls?
te8 sounds like a kind of angel.
ty Molly :)
Those cut and pasted definitions usually don't help me either.
As a Jew, I thought I ought to know it - could work out the ending but couldn't see what went before.
However, i didn't know the word!
Still missing one 8. I have bo 8, br 8 and the te 8. Can you tell me which i'm missing please?
Clue please for ar 7/28
That's okay Liz. There are probably a lot of Irish people who don't know the bo7/44 either. : )
Sorry, don't have it yet.
That's weird. I'd heard of the Irish one - think I'd read it in a book somewhere!
Haz's clue helped though.

yw
that was driving me mad
I felt like that over something on the last grid - soooo frustrating!
yes thankyou
Actually i have 74 left and am really at an impass It has been so hot here today my brain has fallen out
Is the forecast for cooler weather?
not until thursday and I dont think it will be verymuch cooler, what is the weather like in queensland and where are you in queensland?
Gold Coast - about 27 C most days at the moment and not as humid as it has been!
Not humid here but dry and hot anddusty
Prefer dry heat to humid heat.
Not so sure about the dust though!
so do I - we once lived in Kununurra and have spent plenty of time in Queensland, sis in law lives in Maleney in the glass house mountains- nice weather there
Haven't been there yet. So much of Aus still to see!
100 words down and I think I'll leave it for tonight. Follow the advice of "those who know" and leave my computer for quite a while before going to bed!!!
We have seen most of it- Kununurra is humid and hot beyond belief but nice in may june and july
Winter's lovely here - mind you, I like it most of the time. Much prefer the climate to London!
nite then have a nice sleep
HELLO?

having just started, it will be a while 'til I figure that out!
aaah ok
REally going now. Good night :)
You must be sooo cozy tucked up by the fire, Ruby
I have been swimming in the dam all day when i am not in the airconditioning
it is cold in here, but I was hoping to say "hello"
or bonjour! you must be very good at French by now
I have to get to that tax before Bruce finds out that I have been doing nothing
yes, I can understand TV and movies, which was a big accomplishment. Just have a bad (NY) accent in Fr, but not in English LOL
hi all, h elp with corner e pls
I have to call the US fisc in about an hour to beg for more time
hi peri
hi peri, I dont have it

Bo8 bo + reverse male pronoun + tint bug
Tiny bug
um ok bo+when you cant hear someone you might say ** +the tiny insect
I've tried everything for those bo's; they look Turkish to me lol
LoL the heat is getting to me
ty for bo8
Ruby, are you not by a warm fire?
no, the fire is in the living room and I'm in y studio which had the door open (for Miss Spoiled Ruby)
I thought all you northern hemisphere people had central heating
so did I until we bought this house and I never thought of asking...
oh no
Do you get really hot in the summer?
usually have a few days in the 90's but there's aircon in the bedroom, and since it's usually in July, I just watch the Tour in bed
did you know that west australia has been named as one of the two hottest spots for shark attacks in the world we had four fatalities in as many months last year
remind me not to go swimming there lol
no sharks in Lake Annecy
I record the tour and watch it during the day if i can't stay awake at night- but often i do stay up
Hi.
I've heard that Australia now has Dengue Fever
{{bichon}}
Hi bichon!
rent
prier
oh, so sorry
Don't be sorry ruby. I road was finally plowed.
we have one lane plowed
we had your blizzard starting Sun night. It's beautiful, but what a mess
as of yesterday afternoon that is
My road that is
How much snow did you get ruby?
probably 2 ft on top of last week's 15"
and there's ice underneath
Hope your road crews are better than ours.
I'm guessing -- haven't been out of the house since Sunday
no mail delivery or garbage pickup
It's unknown when children can get back to school. Buses can't run in narrow roads and there's snow build on the school roofs
We haven't had mail since Fri. Hopefully we'll get some today. I'm going to put the recycling out.
amazingly, they didn't close the schools
the good news is that our housekeeper comes on foot
Schools are always closed here. But next week is school vacation. What they're going to do, I don't know
do they extend the school year in June?
how can parents go to work if the kids are all unexpectedly home, too?
I guess the parents take a snow day, too
They can extend the school year all the way to 6/28 or they can cancel April vacation
it would make more sense to cancel next week's vacation... since we're having one now
it astonishes me, not getting mail.
In Binghamton, where the weather was awful, the mail was always delivered
The problem for next week is that some people have made reservations on planes, hotels, etc.
but schools closed if 6" fell because the school buses couldn't do the hills safely
ruby, you know the rule. The worse the climate the better the snow removal. My friend in Maine has had her road cleared since Sat.
lots of Fr words in here: medoc etc
but in maine they didn't get as much snow did they?
the worst of Bing. winter was the dreaded "black ice". I fell at least once a year
don't forget chien ruby!
While we got 3', maybe they had a few inches less
I didn't see it, hurshy, lol
ah.
well they are going to have to start planning for this more. climate change.
they don't seem to realize that more snow and other storms come from global warming, just like excessive heat and drought
sorry I had connection problems
at least in the heat we still get the mail
it has been really hot here in aus this year - breaking many records
I can't remember what it feels like to be warm
wow, you guys made the first half go very fast, but still no big bo's
I cant remember what it feels like to be cold and I love winter clothes
silly ruby, don't you have blankets that you curl up under so you can feel warm anyway?
of course, hurshy, but it's hard to do paperwork wrapped in a blanket and under a duvet
that is one thing you can always wear extra clothes or extra blankets but even if you run around naked you still feel hot
I'm warmer when I go outside (rarely), in my "furs" hah NB
you probably shouldn't run if you are trying to stay cool :)
lol
I try not to do it as it frightens the neighbours
we're all imagining sandy running naked while we're looking out at deep drifts
dont imagine - it is too scary
speaking of furs, ermine is a phantom
this grid is much harder than yesterday's
yesterday was the first day I missed in a long time. The day was too fraught
I agree, I have 66 left and cannot seem to get more- I have to go to bed tho
g'nite sandy, see you soon
I'm leaving to go up and get warm!
maybe a goodnite glass of wine then ofto sleep nite all
*woof* or "oof" as the chiens say
and we have la boheme
there are 8's in here?! sigh
i have un5/16, what's the other u?

Thanks BR, and hello to all.
oh 4/6
hi again all, did a lot of book sorting today
morning everyone
hi Sue - in preparation for your move?
hi lynxxx!
Hi Lynn & Sue. :-)
Yep! First time I have deliberately gotten rid of a lot of books. I still have a lot, though.
hi soodle!
We lugged around a mountain of books from place to place for years. It really is silly if you don't refread them a lot, so much weight and storage to consider. We now only have a few favourites
clothes are next, I think.
when is the move?
<--- Behind the times! I didn't know you were moving, Sue.
we'll spend the month of March moving. New place will be ready March 1, and we have to be out of this house at the end of March.
Lost the house to bankruptcy, soodle. In the end it will be a good thing; the old house needs a lot of work and I never would have been able to sell it.
nice to have a month to do it gradually
It is indeed, lynxxx. And the new house is less than half a mile away so stuff won't really even have to be packed.
((((( oh Sue)))) that must have been so stressful. Best of luck with the new home. :-)
thanks, soodle! We finally went and looked at it over the weekend; it will be really nice. Has a nice breezy porch and a finished basement, so tons of room.
sounds nice, sue.
I would love to have a porch, deck or balcony
Sounds lovely.
really - capri isn't accepted!?
I tried that too, lynxxx, must be a proper name
perhaps Enable isn't old enought to remember the pants
I was wondering about that, I suppose even the pants are a proper noun?
I think it would always need an "s" on it.... don't think there could be one capri ;-)
well ascot is accepted and that was named after a place
ha, you are right, diane, it would accept capris. Go figure.
hi Diane, you are probably right - like trews I suppose
well, it "might" accept capris.... lol
hi everyone :-)
ok, I am going to wander off for a bit, bbl
hah - an anagram of the pants works though
bye Sue
Going to do a Crossy on it now, & give you a useless fact :- Trousers/pants/ drawers etc used to come in 2 parts, a part for the front & a part for the rear. Hence, 'a pair of pants' etc!
thanks, Soodle :-)
Hi Diane (((())))
Thats interesting
hi Soodle :-)
And you only used 2 grid words in that Soodle. Well done.
I always wondered why one garment was referred to as a 'pair'. Taking self and assorted pairs of nether region garments off to the PB.....
Echo-y voice from PB 'Hi Molly'
Okay now grab a bowl of gumbo, put on your Mardi Gras mask and belly up to the bar. Cajun two step music to commence playing shortly.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOrQ6Vs\nVGGI
talking about little voices from a box
Way-Hay!!!! Partay on!!!!
I used to work with a woman who had a dress made out of Mardi Gras beads. The whole dress. It was very cool.
Cant access that link from the iPad, Lynn, but have book marked it for later
Golly. A bead dress must have been a bit uncomfortable....
but better than bead capris
Lol , true, Lynn, true!!
Never have understood capris. Are they long shorts or short pants? And why wear either one?
to cover unattractive knees of course - and show off shapely ankles
Short pants, I think. About calf length.
and, of course, to lookjust a little like Audrey Hepburn and who wouldn't want that
Being in possession of unattractive knees, and singularly unshapely ankles, my wardrobe is Capri-free!
Soodle, we get the last installment of Downton next Sunday so I will email you after that.
I'll look forward to that Molls. :-)
Is that the last airing for This season, Molly?
Yes, it's the Season 3 finale. Aired as a Christmas Special in the UK, although it has nothing to do with Christmas.
I still have a two or three episodes on DVR still to watch.
Oh. Have you seen any spoilers?
Yep, I know the big spoiler. That is the problem with it all airing months ahead in the UK.
I only saw one on facebook.
Yesterday I watched the episode where Sybil had the baby.
Clamping lips together......
Thanks, Soodle. =)
*Gives Soodle a straw for her drink*
Just saw on the news that lightening struck the Vatican hours after the Pope resigned.
*sneaks into pb lookiing for king cake*
Happy Mardi Gras TO! Allons danser!
why is the catholic church a source of endless fascination here? i don't here olksa talkng about jews or lutherans or baptists or even atheists.
Allons-danser, molly!
mardis gras dance sturday night!
Not sure, although I think the Pope stepping down was pretty big news and it was discussed in a lot of places on the internet yesterday. I'm still not over the people who are saying "he is just retiring". Like it's no big deal.
I'm not fascinated by the Catholic church. But I am interested in current events.
When my daughter showed me the pic of the lightning strike on the Vatican, I was sure it was photo shopped. Seems it was genuine, though.
well its no big deal to non-Catholiocs. The fact that he is retiring just seems sensible to me
Just saw it on video, Soodle.
I also find that I am a lot more interested in what practicing Catholics have to say about this, as it affects them directly.
Me too, Molly.
Popes don't "retire". Which is what made it such stunning news.
i mean, it is a ree country. the skinheads can march in dkkie and elsewhere and spew their hate speech as can westboro baptist. but i think many would agree that it is not right though legal. the two have no bearing. and this is why i left last night and why i babble by a thin thread.
Hello Everybody. Just got here about 15 minutes ago; Grandson is gone for a few days again. Love that kid immensely, but am glad when he goes..
Not getting you TO, what happened last night?
Yes, but the fact this is the first time a pope has resigned since the Middle Ages is interesting. That, and the courtcase involving the popes butler late last year....What DID the butler see?????
and why i no longer speak to certain folks although i am civil.
And I'm a practicing Catholic; so here's my 2 cents: Good for him for retiring.
one learns a lot when one listens vice chatting.
lol Nef. and Hello

Smores, I thought last night's Bones was one of the better episodes in a long time. The writing on that show has gotten so flat.
I don't care Molly. I'm not that fussy. :-)
Missed last night's Bones. Do you watch The Following?
I still haven't watched it, the preview looked good
lol...me too Bzzn, yes I watched the Following
I will catch up on Bones tonight.
I'm hooked on The Following as disturbing as it is.
I am also anticpating the new season of Touch
I watch The Following but haven't seen last night's yet.
Me too :)
Touch started last Friday Bea.
WHAT!???
You'll have to see it Molly.
Oh I didn't know that, I thought it started next week.
2-hour episode it was good. You can watch it on Fox's web site, or Hulu.
Guess I'll have to catch up on it too
I hope I can see it on demand.
I thought it was this week.
I'lll say good night now. Too many pancakes. Bleugh.
Night, Soodle.
lol...night Soodle :)
good night, Soodle
I must go fix dinner, back in a bit :)
what's for dinner smores
What are you having, teach?
Chicken breasts, baby carrots and smashed taters
sauerkraut and kielbasi
Both sound yummy.
also having smashed taters
Been a long time since I have sauerkraut. Do you use the Bavarian style?
how soon can you get here bea
yes, it has apples and caraway seed and some sugar added - husband is actually from northern Germany, but that's the way his mom cooked it
You make it fresh?
start with the sauerkraut from packages, then drain and rinse and then add all the other things
Sounds yummy. I've just got Hubs to like cabbage. Baby steps...
husband got me to like sauerkraut - and now we have it 2-3 times a month (i guess)
Haven't had cooked cabbage for awhile - loved making red cabbage, but haven't done that in a really long time
I like to just steam mine a bit then drain and toss with grapeseed oil.
time to go get the dinner on the table - BBL
I like cabbage, but just the smell of sauerkraut makes me queasy.
Soodle had pancakes for Shrove Tuesday, good for her. : )
Back home in KS, they have a Pancake race on Shrove Tuesday. The women have to wear high heels and flip the pancake so many times over the short course.
Wine time! BBL
I need to get going too; DH is feeling better so we're going to a Valentines' Day supper tonight. Happy Babbling, Everyone! :-)
Hmm, Valentine's Day supper on Fat Tuesday?

Hi smores and everyone :)

Good. Did you catch the LOST reference in Once this week?

Oh, I thought you had. Gold, Emma and Henry are on Ajira airlines. That is one of the airlines in LOST.
Ahh okay. That was one of my favorite scenes.
"You have to put your shoes in the bin" "How uncivilized"
Also when Anton answers "No...maybe"...that was so Hurley from LOST.
Is this on cable? Sounds fun!
Wasnt his character the same way in Alcatraz?
once upon a time is on abc.
Yes, I could see a lot of Hurley in Garcia's character on Alcatraz. Damn ABC for canceling that.
Hopefully Anton will be a recurring role. (wasnt Alcatraz on Fox?)
Yep, sorry. Damn Fox. : )
But damn ABC for cancelling V :P

To make you feel better, I've heard of Jackie Gleason - just never seen the show!!!
Perhaps it wasn't big in the UK?
I grew up on The Honeymooners
i'm a geezer, liz :-)
Then the UK missed out on some classic comedy.
wasn't it based on a brit show?
No idea?
I see nothing in the history of The Honeymooners that says it was based on a Brit show.
ok . . .
loved Ed Norton :-)
This is an update of the Jackie Gleason show from half a century ago, utterly unknown to British audiences. This is a quote from the Brit paper The Guardian re. the film, from 2005
All In The Family was.

Hi BDG, Dorens Sue :)
hey D

yes... you are
we're switching between that and the dog show
it's painful watching john boner (sic) trying to look like a pleasant human being. he is so uncomfortable up there
and joe biden jumping up to clap at every other sentence . I really hate politics
Yep, just you.
politics and dog show. and the difference is what? LOL
not much, gwen!
people like dogs
dogs love people
that's true, lbd! And the dogs are better behaved.
dogs are trainable
lol...lbd
girls are in bed...3 left
politicians can be bribed with a few crunchy treats, too
dogs will listen, try to figure out what you want and do their best to achieve it.
l
alas, yes, dogs can be bribed, but they don't do it for self gratification, they do it thinking that's what it is suppose to do.
i'd love to see one of those politicians get fluffed and puffed and then set to match the standards of his/her breed...don't think we'd get much of a best of show.
okay, i am stuck on the lone E in the corner which i need for nbt. anyone?
