You are so welcome. I just play secretary LOL.
I wonder how much snow we will have on the ground in the morning.
snowing right now?
hi all, finally home after a long, sloooow drive from town. i've been into one of our major hospital for some hedgimacation. doing clinical pharmacology. my head feels like it's about to explode. talk about overfill. lol
yes, snowing now, after raining all day
hi rose!!!
hi gran...explode some words into the grid...maybe it will help
lol... get a drink; prop up your feet; and babble LOL... list in my profile if you need it; good community effort for this one
dee, we have had some very welcome rain last night and today. such a relief after our high temps.
we had rain, slush, sleet, then snow in about 12 hours
I bet
oh thanx dee. and oh, yeah, dart...so totally need to do that.
we are having a pretty impressive snow right now
ugh, dee, doesn't sound pleasant
So glad you've had some rain down there - hope we can send you some more of ours :)
liz!!! everything okay in your neck of the woods?
Actually, I wish it were daytime, so I could see it (after watching all the junk during the daylight; it would have been nice to see a snowfall)
it's like a heavy summer rain, except instead of fat drops of water it is huge fluffy snowflakes that turn to slush immediately. lightning also
How much are you expecting, josh?
Always so strange to have lightning and snow simultaneously.
Sure Rose, just rain and more rain but no flooding!
30cm was the forecast, so i guess around a foot?
Wow.
they give in mms and cms volley
2.54 cm=1 inch
Forgot about that. Glad you translated into number I recognize :)
100cm = slightly more than 3 feet
liz, what's the latest on gympie? my elderly aunt still lives there.
it looks like at least 2/3rds of that has fallen in the last 4 hours
im ok with celcius/faren. but the rain/snow stuff takes awhile
We are just south of the "snow line", so I think we will only have a couple of inches.
My math skills are not what they used to be... I haven't used them enough in the past few years to remember automatically.
Not too bad I think Rose - haven't heard anything. Lots of showers according to the forecast!
I loved all math, except for geometry and story problems.
Looking at news, Rose, the river peaked last night and they're clearing up now.
i end up doing c/f and imperial/metric conversions on the phone all the time when talking to my family, so i'm fairly efficient at it
okay, thanx liz. i really must get in touch with my cousin up there. any disruptions anywhere to power etc?
Good practice, Josh.
Hope your aunt's OK :)
How's married life, Josh?
thanx liz, so do i.
I'm sure if there was anything to tell, Rose, you'd have heard. Bad news travels quickly!!!!BBL - over half way, so I'm happy with that but need a break now. Good luck to all still working on the grid. I
suits me just fine, dee. you doing well?
later, liz. and thanx for the info
Excellent. Our daughter and son-in-law celebrated their 1st anniv in Jan.
wow time flies volley
Feeling a bit rocky physically.. have had some osteoarthritis activity along with rheumatoid, but this too shall pass.
I can't believe it either, dart, plus she'll be 30 in March, which really flabbergasts me.
The last 25 years have passed in a snap.
good morning
They loved their anniv trip to Napa Valley; they were so impressed they hope to return.
Hi ruby!
oops, dee is about to find out what it feels like having a child who is of an age she can remember being herself. scarey ain't it?
hi ruby
{{{ruby}}}}
How many words today please
on the other hand, by the time my dad was my age, i was 11 years old
LOL, rose, I still feel 30 in my head.... just not my body.
210 gran
210
210, gran
Thanks
True for many, josh... definitely times have changed regarding when to have kids.
know what you mean, dee. i'm still 30 in my head....
im 35 lol
lol, also in your head, dart :)
or im dyslexic..one of the two
LOL... if you were 35, you wouldn't be needing a heating pad now
it's nice to see everybody
Dyslexic + 4 for me :(
My son will be 50 this year and I'll be 70! Hard to imagine
Great to see you, too, Ruby!
if i wouldn't have sold my snowblower when i moved i wouldn't be using the heating pad
thank you mom
ruby, sweetie, we are glad to see you, hun
and no drama surrounding this drama queen today
Wow, that's great! You will be finding a new one I'll bet. That is waaaay too much snow to be shoveling.
nah....will wait to see if we have winters like the last two...or this one
it continues to be very cold here but when (if) the sun comes out in the afternoon, a little bit melts every day
I'm afraid it will all come down from the roof at once and kill somebody
this is the most snow we've have since we've been here and the temps haven't reached above freezing (exzcept in direct sun) in 2 months
You seem to be getting the snow we used to get, dart. We have had zippo the last few years, which seems so odd to me.
we had 3 inches last year....pretty much golfed all winter when temp was warm enough
gosh, ruby. i hope you are staying nice and warm, hun.
*waves again to ruru in the bleachers*
Truly odd weather. Glad you are having nice sunshine, ruby. That is why we have seen so much bare ground this year - gorgeous sunshine (which I love)!
lol... waving to ru, too!
every doom is a diff temp: studio is OK, living room is fine if there's a fire, kitchen is freezing. I walk around sneezing because of the changes
I'm glad to lose some of the snow, but, underneath there is endless mud!
awww, hope you can stay well
and large mud "stars" -- puppy prints
all over the house
Hello everyone
That is definitely not fun.
hi lynxx
Hi Lynx!
hello lynxx
but nothing could put me in a bad mood!
hi lyn
hi Flosey - what are you doing up?
{{flosey}}
Flosey complements Volley nicely, lovely colour
:) one of my favorites
lol, should be sleeping, will soon, thanks, love these colours
Lovely photo, flosey.
thanks Dee
Well, I am off to watch a Quincy rerun to try to get sleepy. Yqw, flosey. Hugs to all! Stay warm and safe! See you at the flip!

I think it's been years since it was on TV. I watch it on netflix.
TTFN.... waving!
does anybody know the BBC series Luther? It is outstanding
2 short seasons, but worth finding
I've luckily caught a couple of episodes -it was great!
have not heard of it ruby
I'll look for it
Idris Elba is the star and it is truly worth looking for; maybe netflix has it....(we don't get netflix)
he was in THe Wire and had a small part in The Big C (you can tell that I watch a lot of TV)
morning all
hi Glant
ooh, Idris Elba is fab, and I loved Luther
hello glanta!
Hi Ruby, Lyn
How is your Mum Glant?
Mum is much better, she has started looking after herself now
Bless her, she is on her 3rd day pf hospital appointments this week - they lay on transport because she can't drive yet, but that means it takes all day
that's very good news and a big weight off your shoulders
how old is she, glant?
she saw the carpal tunnel people on Monday, the nephrologist (kidneys) on Tuiesday, and the hip surgeon today
78, soon to be 79
wow, that's a lot of stuff all at once
wow...a full renovation happening there
it is a great weight off my shoulders, but i think the looking after muma d trying to hold down a fiull time job 80 miles apart took their toll - i developed a nasty abscess under my jaw 2 weeks ago and have been off work for a week and a ahalf
when it's all over, she'll probably want a little plastic surgery....lol
second set of antibiotics are kicking in, and i hope to lose 2 teeth before the weekend, because i can't get properly better till i do
tell her to ask if she can get some freebies while its all happening...maybe a mini face lift to make her feel better?
and you'll want two weeks in a spa!
she's not the facelift ttype LOL
snap, lynxx
Now that doesn't sound so hot Glant - a lot of pain I bet
yes lyn
i was alternating ibuprofen and paracetamol ag 2-3 hour intervals for a week, had to write it all down so i didn't kill myself LOL
but the pain is finally easing
just took a break, hello Glant, glad to hear things are your mom is getting the care she needs, sorry about your own problems, hope that is cleared up real soon
i need to lose the teeth but i cn't open my mouth fr enough yet - maybe tomorrow or friday
but at least i feel human today, had the fikrst whole night's sleep for a ten days last night
I remember getting a lot of abscesses under my teeth in my 20s but they don't sound as bad as yours
i had a lump the size of half a hen's egg last week, it's down to blackbird egg now :-)
that sounds awful, glant, I wish I could send you some of my pain meds (and a little Xanax to help you sleep)
I believe that when you are under constant stress and running around your immune system weakens a lot and you are vulnerable to all sorts of stuff. It certainly does with me.
Clues are up
Hey Lickety. And thanks
thanks lickety
just hoping it will be a distant memory before long and looking forward to eating something which doesn;t come via a straw
I agree, lynxx, all of my allergies developed during stressful times
that's exactly what i think about immune systems Lyn
thanks Lickety
if the straw is big enough, you can have smoothies with rum
they have warned me that one of the antibiotics i am taking will make me violently ill if i have alcohol
i am not risking trying to be sick when i can'topen my mouth LOL
oh, sorry, didn't realize that
but i haven't felt like a drink in any case -
I hope you needed to lose some weight Glant - seems that that might be the only good side effect for you
yup, i needed to lose a lot of weight, this has shaved half a stone off me the last 2 weeks
the silver lining to this cloud :-)
and by the time your mom is on her feet and your mouth is OK, the flowers will be up and it will be happy Spring!
i saw some daffodils yesterday, they cheered me up :-)
yay, half and nbs but can't find the bottom e and the 4th column i for ntb....
I think our may be starting, but there's so much snow, it's hard to tell
i am missing the same tiles and the other i too
bottom i is in5/12
ty flosey
yw Glant
hmmm....
I think that bottom E is ei8/40 (actually, a proper name)
is insip how glant eats through a straw?
ty flosey, it is
LOL
TY Flosey
ty for the ei, flosey
but the i still eludes me
you're right flosey, first name albert ei8
yes
ruby, i + opposite of stand + opposite of out
the I, ruby, is a person who is perhaps clumsy,
got it, ty, flosey
good for you ruby, yw
thanks Rose - then build on that for 7&8
hey lyn
NBT, NBS
good to see you Rose...nice weather! and happily the storm missed us down here, just nice and wet
wtg Glant
nein
whoops, sorry
no penalty, ruby
still can't find that 4th column i
i & a shiny fabric
i + pt of not stand + not out
ty, you three, I though I had tried that
ruby, see me at 2:46
fabric very popular in the 50s
it was the pt bit that i missed when granny clued it
I saw you, but kept trying "sit" instead of pt
add to it Ruby for 7 &8
duh me
in6/18, in + horses quarters minus last letter
ooh, ty
mmm, now if i just knew what a horse quarter was LOL
rump aint working
meaning where they spend nights, Glant
stabl?
it think it's what they put in burgers.... eeew
oh, i see, i was on the wrong tack
each horse has his/her own
lol Ruby!
always thought that was a double l
ty flosey
I am obviously not a cowgirl
way back, I said drop last letter
a burger walks into a bar and orders a beer. The bartender says "What, I can't hear you?' The burger replies "I'm a little horse"
lol ruby, that's cute
an old joke with a modern twist
has the horsemeat scandal made itself felt on the western side of the pond?
I think labeling is stricter in the US, not that it protects people from antibiotics and worse
Its news down here...Ikea has assured everyone that their meatballs here are made from Australian beef
years ago, when there was a beef boycott in the US, I ate horsemeat. No big deal except is was orange-y
the labels here are strict, but if somebody lies there is no system which can work
yes it has Glant - has been found in some places in Canada
hi
i have no problem eating horsemeat f it is safe, i'd just like it labeled as such
hi herin, long time no see
Is Australian Beef made out of kangaroo?
hi Infernal!
I have a huge problem with eating anything mislabbled
during the was, it was available in Quebec I think
labelling in France is very lax, but the idea of horsemeat doesn't make people shudder as it's an old tradition here
i know i've eaten steak in france that was horse
{{herinf}}
the ""war,
howdy.
back in the 80s menus read 'steak' and beefsteak' in france
it is very difficult unless you grow your own!
Roo tastes and smells different
more livery, roo
I hope you're joking
I was kidding about the kangaroo
the "bute" idea is another story -- burgers as painkillers!
Nope not joking. Roo is redder and meatier.
um, kangaroo os eateb, as is ostrich Alexis
*eaten
Wallaby is pretty good too
I didn't know people ate kangaroo
and probably leaner
I have eaten it, it is like good steak but can be a bit dry if cooked too long
We have a problem here in southern California with people getting free dogs off craigslist and eating them
The thing is most of the wild roos are wormy and gross and not fit to feed the dogs.
in France they've eaten everything. There are no deer, squirrels or rabbits, and we live in the country
it's the quality of life and death for the animal which is important, not what species it is
OMG, Alexis
Ostrich was being raised on Van. Island, don't know how well it sold
koreans have been eating dogs for millenia
It is pretty commonly available now Alexis - even in Supermarkets here (although not huge quantities)
dogs are considered "winter meat" in Korea and China eeewww
i have a medieval cookbook, and if it moved, medieval folk ate it
and we have chows....uh oh
and guinea pigs eaten in South America
all the little birds, hedgehogs, and lots of fish species which we say aren't fit to eat
Yes, Ruby... it is the immigrant population that is doing that here with the dogs
it southern Italy they eat the tiny songbirds, catching them in nets blocking their flight paths
goodness imagine having to skin the chows - would it be worth the effort? and Stew would be safe - no meat on him
certainly Americans wouldn't eat dog
i eat meat, but i know where it comes form and how it was raised, dn't buy supermarket meat
I'm sure there are Americans that would
but you could sell the fur
I am getting closer and closer to renouncing meat
they would make a lovely floor rug too Ruby!
Alexia you would probably find the free dog thing is more for dog fighting than dog meat eating
i don't eat if often
once or twice a month
I thought about having Ruby stuffed.... :(
it is a week now and the new pup is coming next week
you couldn't do that - you would be mournful for ever
Actually, there is a big problem here with people eating dogs
and Ruffie would be extremely confused that Ruby wouldn't play with him
Ruby did you lose another pup?
last night, for the first time, he went on a serious hunt for her, having found the spot where she died and trying to follow the scent
it was very sad
yes, my Ruby's heart quit but she had had a good last 8 months and had reached her 10th birthday
I am sorry Ruby. I have been awol for an age
but Rafaella is coming from Spain on Tuesday or Wed. She's an 8 wk old beauty
I've been spreading my sadness all over the chog, terribly self-indulgent, but it helped me through it
So how many pups have you got now?
since 1990, we've had six, but never more than 2 at a time
don't feel so indulgent ruby, we've all voiced sadness, etc, from time to time
now it's just year-old Ruffino, who arrived a few days after Max died
and found relief from babble friends
{{flosey}}
you are true blue!
certinly have, it helps to tlk to people who are not emotionally involved
better to get it out than keep it bottled up inside you

Good Morning/Evening everyone :)

see ya, lyn
wtg lynxx...funny I just hit 60 :)
Bye for now :)
If it is an evap unit it wont do dick with humidity
oh, i've gotta tell you all. there has benn a major oops at work with the construction of our new operating suite.
?
when they built the new theatres, they put clear glass panels in the doors. consequently, any patient going down the corridor on their way to theatre, can see right into the current operating session.
That is very bad
At least it isn't Stawell ER were you have to PAY to see a doctor
and they have completely forgotten to put any cupboards in the anaesthetic rooms. so, recovery is still having to store all the supplies for the operating rooms. aaarrggghhh!!
and any inquisitive child/person climbing on the boundary fence can see straight into recovery...go figure.let's hear it for patient privacy.
As I said I couldn't believe that you have to pay for a doctor at Stawell public hospital
wow...rose, that is very strange indeed
probably because it's a rural hospital, herin
still I think it is a dick move
Hey when we going to catch up?
over easter?
When is that?>
never mind I found it
Rose when can I call you?
how about now?
goiung to bed soon
Yer ok
Hi herin and Rose :)

Nice to see you in the chog, Herin..not seen you in ages..take care..have a good evening.
You are up early, Smores.
Unfortunately
but oh well, sleep is overrated I guess :)
I must admit..i really like my sleep.
me too, it just doen'st like me lately
er...doesn't
Sorry to hear that..is there nothing you can take..like a herbal type medicine..or even yoga..which i try at and am not very good at..but it is good.
Yeah, I probably should, if it gets any worse I will
I went to sleep about 11 last night which was very early for me. Woke up at 4am
I usually don't sleep more than 5hours
Thats being a parent for you :-).....so it sounds like you had most of your quota then.
yep...lol..my alarm rarely gets a chance to do it's job
I can set my alarm to wake me up at a certain time..yet i most of the time will wake up about a minute before it goes off..strange really.
Yes, I use to do that as well....now I woke up a good hour or so before it goes off
*wake
I'll probably sneak in a nap this afternoon though :)
I love naps.
:)
BRB...gonna go put some coffee on
mmm...chocolate and coffee, two of my favorite things :)
hehe enjoy.
strong cuppa coffee and a triple chocolate biscotti
funny, my daughter asked me why they call them biscotti....I told her because you can't have cookies for breakfast :)
haha..nice one.
I have honey sandwiches & a cup of tea.
mmm....sounds yummy
I like that for a morning snack.
Smores, ever had your thyroid levels checked? Under active thyroid will cause sleep problems, among other things.
I usually eat a yogurt or some fruit 1st thing....but what the heck
Hi Molly, no I haven't
ugh 05:45 am. good morning everyone
good morning crossy :)
Good morning, Crossy .
slept in today...eh? :)
hehe
indeed smores
Rub that sleeping dust from your eyes , crossy..lol
usually 2 hours seep is enough instead of a whopping 4:P
eekkk..
i know:((
double the norm..how lazy..haha
I won't complain anymore...I usually get about 5hrs
i will try and pick up the slack next time zooz:)
Normally about 8hrs for me.
8??? my god, that is 3 to 4 days of sleep!
hehe
I don't remember the last time I slept 8hrs
sleep is but a dream to me now
I do feel sorry for people who do not get the amount they want...it must be hard to function normally without it.
Nah...that's what coffee and chocolates for :)
lol
it can be.apnea and sciatica all make for fun bed mates
I bet, Crossy.
that sucks crossy
ever indulge in those choclate coated coffee beans, smores?
Oh yeah....used to keep a baggie of them in my purse
They got me through the 12hour shifts over the holidays :)
Ok 21 more to find..taking a few mins break.
way to go zooz...bye for now :)
And back.

Another person who cannot sleep, Hello, Mimi.
((zoo))

(ivesy) We have a little insomnia club going on here!
Oh bless..hello, Ivesy..added you to the list.
morning/afternoon all. and its my day off too! makes me so mad lol
if you mean is6/18, then yes
It's 4:42 here in Arizona. I have a busy day and will have to tackle it tired....frustrating.

Oh flip..looking at IN instead of IS..silly me.
eek ivesy
I got up about 4am
At least we all have each other here! Better than being alone.

:)
Ah, Smores got me. I was staring at the grid looking for an is6.
Ahh yes found them..thanks, Smores!
I've also been up for awhile, ivesy.

Did you find it Molly? :)
That's OK, ivesy, I'm sure she's delighted to have you in her corner rooting for her.
Since you have the day off, maybe you can get a nap in later Ivesy
Hi all - Good morning to the US and UK and good evening from here :)
thats a plan game isnt til 8
{Liz}
These Ps are killing me.
Hello, Liz :-)
Is love of babble keeping all of the US awake???
hello everyone :)
Hi Annie :)
No, just an inability to sleep. But this is nice to turn to.
And Canada..Crossy is here somewhere.
Hi Liz
{{Annie}}
Hello, Annie.
hi ((Mimi)) and zooz
Hi Annie :)
Is crossy lurking about? Someone tell him to finish that bacon and talk to us!
agree Mimi...
hi smores :)
Hi Crossy - if you're out there somewhere!
found a PI8.
wtg zooz...just found the in7/8...thanks
hehe..yw.
I only have 4 8's - ei 8; ep 8; in 8; and is 8. I'll just have to keep hunting, I guess!
Sp8 think of your back bone, Liz.
Wow---you guys are amazing. Will I EVER get to be any good at this game?!!
I have sp 5 and 6 - directly connected to the backbone and then sp 6 and 7 - musical instrument but with same beginning but nothing else!
OK - have it now. Thanks!
YaY..wtg, Liz.
And it led to a pi 7 too!
But not the pi 8!
milk bottle measure + vowel + wipe your runny ***e
same here liz...found 3 pi7's so far...no 8
Thanks zooz!
thank you zooz
take away the plural for the PI7
good thing you put the word runny in there...lol
lol
lol
Guess we haven't been hanging out with enough Cuban sergeant majors. : )
thanks zooz
I just looked that up too!
lol...wow we must've all been clicking the ? mark at the same time
hahaha
Sounds more like something you would whack at a birthday party. : )
Yep
Fun new icon Molly :)
That picture could be me later today with no sleep!
I think they look like the poster couple for Ex-Lax.
:)
btw Molly - we did swing around the lamp-posts in the rain - got just as soaked as yesterday.
They don't look very comfortable!
LOL, Molly.
Good for you Liz. There is nothing better than going out and getting a good soak in the rain.
Rain? Oh, yeah...I remember that.
We wouldn't have been out for days otherwise! But at least it's warm here! Rainjackets and shorts!
Ok 12 left i am going to go to the list.
I'll send you some of ours Mimi! it's our rainy season now!
Still have 60 here but haven't listed yet! But have got the list saved for when I need it!
well done zooz...don't think I'll make it that far without listing
We used to have monsoons here, but we're in a 10-year drought, Liz. I so miss thunderstorms.
See lickety's up now though. Just looked!
There was an 8 yr drought before I moved here. i must've brought rain from the UK!
Did ivesy finally pass out or did I miss her saying bye?
:) guess AZ needs a large group of UK'ers to visit
:)
It needs something, alright. It's also a political desert.
hello again, back from (early) lunch
(Ruby)
{ruby} Hi dear
Hi Ruby - one day closer to Raffie :)
sorry im here lol.. had phone call
that sounded like im sorry im here lol.. i am tired !!
happy you're here, ivesy
{{everybody}}
hi ruby , is the new puppy on his way?
*Passes Ivesy a cup of coffee*
ahhhhh, good ty molly.
I'm not sure of the day yet (or of which airport - Geneva or Lyon), but it may be as early as Tuesday. Yay
And fireworks for me.
so happy for you ruby :)
Hello, Ruby.
oh how nice for you and the puppy.. going to such a good home
Congrats zooz :)
WTG zooz :)
last night, for the first time, Rufie went on a "Ruby hunt". He seemed to pick up her scent someplace and proceeded to sniff every possible part of the house and garden
Did anyone see the Oscars? Honestly, that Kristen Stewart needs an attitude adjustment. Not only can she not act, she always looks so dour. Hey, girl, you've got money and a great career---lighten up!
yay zoozz!
Ruby, you have more energy than I ever will. I don't know how you keep up with two, active dogs.
aww...poor Rufie
Poor Rufie :(
Agree Mimi....
I don't do anything except write lists and prepare food (and maybe throw a toy or ten in the house)
Mind you, I can't even imagine HOW she got that career....can you say casting couch? Sorry, that was mean.
I know what you mean Molly, can't imagine training a pup again.
Kristen Stewart and Rene Zelwegger looked stoned at The Oscars. But then, they always look stoned.
And give them loads of hugs and loves
we've had 6 chows so far and they;ve all arrived totally housebroken.
Rafaella is younger, so maybe she won't be, but I'm not worried
Hoping the same for Raffie :)
Oh there is so much more to training them than house breaking them.
I don't know Molly, seems like Kristen would smile a bit if she were.
I've sent some money already, so should know by tonight when and where
chows are very well-behaved but not really trainable. They are more like (very large!) cats.
That's true Smores, but I'm convinced the girl is a major stoner.
te 6/21 plz
I know. Did Kristen hurt her foot or leg? She as also limping. Love Rene's acting but she seems to have "issues." She was dating Bradley Cooper and somehow managed to let him get away....think I would have held him hostage! LOL, smores.
looking for the te6.....
Wow...ruby, already housebroke. Big plus
BRB
te 6 - as in bowling
I agree, Molly....she always looks like she's visiting another planet.
babies should come housebroken
they're surprisingly clean dogs and soooo sweet from the first moment
and pl
ty lizlin, wasn't that in the grid one or two days ago?
ty liz.
Yes - that's why I saw it quite quickly.
Speaking of cats, my Dodger is begging to be fed already. He thinks that just because I'm up, I should be feeding him.
ok, off to try getting a nap.. hagd all
just found a totally strange ep7 was just guessing
{{ivesy}}
It's also really weird---all three cats often seem to hear or see something back in the bedroom and are freaked out by it. I don't see or hear anything...should I be spooked?
Bye, ivesy. Hope you can sleep.
Sleep well ivesy :)
there is probably a big (quiet) lizard under the bed....
Nope--don't have an "under the bed", ruby. It's just so freaky to see them perk their ears up and look toward that room like they're aware of something....hey, if there's a ghost here he/she can at least come out and talk to me...I'd enjoy it!
just teasing you, mimi
dogs do that, too, hear mystical stuff
Dogs also hear at different frequencies than we do.
I'm convinced my Pywakit communicates telepathically with some spirit or angel....you wouldn't believe how he sometimes will pointedly stare at a blank wall and move his eyes like he's communicating. When that happens, I cannot distract him either. Very cool.
Makes sense, really. After all, he is named after a witch's familiar in Bell, Book and Candle.
more than half, nbt, nbs and I can go and read in front of the fire. Quel plaisir!
Hi again :)
Enjoy Ruby and have a good day :)
Bye ruby!
Bye for now ruby {hugs}

Made-up word: spet. What you do when you get something bad in your mouth.
:)
Gotta remember to tell that one to sprite---she's starting to keep track of all the made-up words.

There's a male anatomy word here today that I almost missed completely because my memory isn't as good anymore!
LOL

Lots of smiles here today :)

It is true no matter when in the day

Have a good day Mimi :)

Smuggy?

Ah. Thank you for conjugating that explanation.
smug is a pejorative .... how amusing
Down to 142 words. Feeling a bit smuggish.

Dang. There's a lot of P's toay.
tell me about it.. jeez
YEA! Got all the P's!
A perfectly good Q, just wasted.
you could always just tell us your favorite Q words, as a way of not wasting it
for instance, i like "quack", "quality", and "quintessential"
Morning all
morning mr bob. what are your favorite q words?
i knew a fellow in college whose middle initial was q, and when someone asked him what it stood for, he joked, "quality, of course!" and i always called him "christopher quality" after that.
Gah. P's plundered. Finally.
why on earth would statins not be in the dictionary??
Wondered that myself, Hurshy. Our dictionary lags behind the times.
During the great depression, my
mother
hmm, this story could take awhile
preservad
Let me try that again? During the great depression, my mother preserved fruits and vegetables and my father made booze. The first Q word I learned and my favorite is quart
quart, a fine q word!
we appreciate your contribution to not-wasting-the-q day
quietly quipping quantative questions, quitting qualifying
*applauds&
i am having a little left E difficulty. i've found a fencing weapon and greek letters, but that's it.
thats all I have too hurshy and hello
I've only found the fencing weapon.
hello river, care to share YOUR favorite q words?
but now I see the greek letters.
Hmm, I don't even have the greek letter (and no it isn't epsilon, that's a phantom)
it rhymes with many other greek letters.
dont quote me but that is my fav
Thanks hursh
quote!
how about you hokie?
Finito!
yay for Judi
In the row of the three I's, I have only found two, and the second one is still blank.
Way to go Judi
hmm, never thought about it before. In Scrabble I like qi(s) and qat(s); in everyday usage, ?
ditto, michnick (for the i's)
quell is a good one too
quash
I used to like quell, but there is an anti-lice shampoo called kwell and I have gone off the word!
yeah!
Qantas
i have in5/12, in7 and 8 combo
I have a fondness for quagmire
in6/18

to put something in - alt spelling
Thanks Hursh, got the in7/8.
woot that's all the first i words!
is a in6/18
I am still missing the 5 & 6
I still need 2 i words from the 4th column
is6, 7, 8
all go together
thanks hurshy - got them now
not seeing them. I hate vowel-starting words!
4th & 5th cols grey!
i + pretty material for the is6
the 6 is i + fabric
then add vowel, then plural
ooh, just found one of my fave H words to gray out the 5th col.
got 'em, thx
I still need one H - dont know what it is
probably anagram of lower leg bone, which looks unpronounceable
river do you have hi4/5 that reminds me of my mountain folk? that is usually my last one because I can't believe it's a real word.
I have hi4/5 hi4/5 hi5/12 hi4/5 hi5/12
I still need 2 N's in 4th col.

yeah, I think you're missing belonging to him.
got it - thanks hokie
okay, I have ni 4/4, 5/10, 4/5, 4/4, 5/10,4/4
60 to go for later - must get back to work - thanks for your help
another 4/4 and another 5/10
ooh, just found an ni5/10
okay, thx. that should narrow it down.
got it! 4th & 5th are gray! ('course I did have a little help with the empty boxes.)
epi... epi... hmm
Not epi...
no? sigh
en something?
hi all, here just for a minute but was wondering if anyone could give a clue for the i under the n in the 4th column (the one with 3 words)?
No, Hursh was almost right...
how many letters, Molly?
i + shiny fabric
sue - is6, 7, & 8. per hurshy, i+fabric, then add a vowel, then a plural
ep4, ep7 and ep8
thanks, all! That one hasn't worked its way into my internal list of Babble-only words yet...
Wow, gorgeous icon picture Sue.
wow, that ep7 and 8 . . . never saw that before -- swordsmen, eh?
thanks, molly! Clouds can be amazing.
Arrggghhh, I was sure Hursh was going to guess it on her own.
and thanks for the ep7/8, une!
ok, gotta run, will be back online once we're settled in at the cancer center...
yw :-) . . . driveby cluing -- *poof*
I'm still not getting it any of the 3. have tried every ep4 I can see. (apparently not)
well now we'll never know... i thank une though :)
anyhoo, I really need to be cleaning my kitchen or doing laundry, so I better go. BBL hopefully.
i have a very trivial problem but i can't decide what to do
perhaps the more trivial the problem, the more paralyzed one becomes
I find that to be true
hurshy, I have dealt with life changing and shattering decisions without aplomb, but take me to a nice restaurant, I can never decide what to order!!
the problem is this. i wanted a carved wooden elephant. i ordered one. it took a long time to ship. in the meantime i thought i might prefer a different one by the same company. i emailed but it ended up being too late to switch the order. so, do i want to go through the hassle of returning and getting the other one, or not bother? the real problem is that every website i visit seems to know i ordered this and is showing me nothing but elephant sculptures so it keeps it in my mind!
Still having trouble with ep 7&8
I mean with aplomb (duh, go misuse fancy words and everyone knows you are dumb)
i didn't even notice the typo mich :)
How much would returning it set you back? How disappointed are you with the one you received?
i don't know how much, i have to see what their return policies are. and i haven't actually received it yet, i think it's coming tomorrow.
it is hard to say how much i prefer the other one. since i am probably only ever going to have one wooden elephant, maybe i want it to be just so. but then, neither of them are quite what i had in mind (i had seen one on a mr. rogers episode, that was the inspiration, but can't get one exactly like that)
well, wait until tomorrow then, You may just love the one you are receiving. BTW, I hate when websites think they know my mind. I don't even like salespersons making suggestions, and they are human!!
yeah it seems crazy that just because you buy one elephant they think it means you want to fill your house with a thousand other elephants
Can you try and pull up both pictures and split the screen?
or on amazon when you buy from someone's wish list and then amazon recommends stuff to you on that basis. but *i* didn't want that book, my friend did!
I know Hursh, why can't they realize that because I bought one bread machine cookbook I want 12 others - who really needs more than one (ok, or 2)??
maybe some items, cookbooks, you could use more than one. but like, let's say a mixer. you really are UNlikely to want more than one!
Or a bed!!??
exactly
they really need to improve their system
well, i'm done. any last clues before i leave?
bottom lone E stats?
Good for you, I am exactly halfway. I may not get much more done! Good luck with your elephants!!
Bottom e is ei8

Can someone clue the so8?
ugh...please also don't mind that I used the wrong version of "here"
no problem Trif, good to see you when you have time to babble - but do take care of yourself
flosey, honey, right now I am LAST on that list. But sometimes life is like that. It will come around....
that's my last word Mich and just can't find it
just monkeyed it, sounds a bit like a type of musical piece, or a cracker
good to hear from you Trif. I've been erratic also.
beginning like a musical piece, ending with end of a fork
nice clue flosey!
thanks Trif, glad you got it
and that's FW - now must run, a bit of tidying up to do, friends coming in for afternoon of bridge
huzzah for flosey, and have a lovely day!
whats the count of the longest n word, please?
thanks, and you too Trif - be good to yourself
nothing longer than a 5
na5/10, ne5/12, 5/10 x 3, ni5/10 x 4, no5/1- x 2
ty flosey
no, ni5/10 x 3 (not 4)
and that was no5/10 x 2
Poor Trif, you deserve to come in first sometimes.
Most of the time actually. I would say all the time, but I am a realist. : )
missing one n from the fourth column, third row...making me captial n nuts
whew! There it is!
right i am back to finish!
I am back too, nice to see you all!
crossy is back also

one other was called watch this.it was the back of a jumbo pocket watch with the cover off, exposing a million almost identical gears
and sorry I said hi and then left, things got a little busy here for a bit
understandable..been there.
wb suze
ok, now my computer is misbehaving. I may have to reboot. Fortunately I also have my iPad and my phone :-)
ok..gotta find some other mindless thing to do.
suze is wired for anything!
Happy Babbling
firefox is working but nothing else is, including my task bar
ok, brb
On the iPad while computer reboots
babble also plays amazing on my asus transformer tab.when you first get it though, you must get used to how much easier it is to work with an android operating system
ok, computer is back.
I'm not crazy about the iPad but it's not mine; they gave it to me for work
my phone is an Android and I like its operating system a lot, so I'm sure I'd like an Android tablet as well
when you are ready for one of your own, tray the asus transformer or the google nexus 10.both good powerful machines
i researched tablets pretty heavily this year in anticipation of upgrading
maybe after I really retire :-) right now both my laptop and my ipad are from work
we talked to the doctor today - apparently since Frank is stage 4 the 12 cycles of chemo are just a preliminary estimate of what he will need - actual treatment will depend on scans and on how he tolerates the chemo
so he's pretty bummed right now, he was hoping he was almost half way through
poor frank:(
he's fallen asleep at the moment (they give him Benadryl at the beginning to foist off nausea, which seems to work very well) but he was watching war documentaries on his laptop, a sure sign that he is upset
chemo can knock the stuffing right out of you
that too :-(
i spent most of my time sleeping or with my head in the toilet
fortunately the nausea hasn't been a problem at all; he's had some skin trouble (his fingers are very cracked and sore) and some diarrhea but that's about it
still has all his hair?
i lost ALL my hair every last drop of it anywhere on my body.when i walked,i sounded like 2 balloons rubbing together.thank god for talc!
had such a static charge i had to ground myself before i came to be.the cats fur used to stand out when they walked by me
bed
yep, still hairy :-)
hi sue, crossy, and all you lurkerz ;) hope frank feels better very soon- physically and emotionally crossy - did you try the PB&bacon cookies yet?
hi kate! and thanks!!
not yet kate
it must be very tough on you i was seeing in the chog yesterday that phae lost her daughter (quite suddenly???) i din't dare say anything because i don't want to put my foot in it :(
oh no, I missed that! How awful!!
click on her icon
Phae has changed her icon to her grandchildren, the ones her daughter left behind. Her daughter had Hodgkins lymphoma, I don't think it was sudden. Horrible nonetheless.
oh my gosh, such little children! It is a tragedy when anyone dies, but for a young mother it is particularly hard for those left behind. Love to her and her family...
So sad.
thanks molly, i am glad for the info. will express my condolences when i see her on here next. what a terrible loss for her
all cancer is terrible and in it's wake it often leaves terrible pain.i saw things in the cancer lodge in toronto that i would not even repeat here anongst a room full of adults
sorry about the silence, computer suddenly decided to shut down and install a million updates. i can't imagine how awful it is for everyone involved.
wb kate:)
:) abk and babbling, grid looked bad to start, but things seem to be looking up - is it very friendly?
it is kicking my arse it is
*back so i will be stopped in my tracks very soon then. didn't finish yesterday's puzzle, left wilth 31 still to find
of course using my pitiful progress as a benchmark may be a good thing
albert the physicist is in here!

i don't often find an 8 letter word without help... pretty proud of myself ;)
hi eva!
yaa for kate!
found a few critter(s) too - sn 5 - bird and st 5 - a large member of the weasel family pl for both!
hello, hello. :)
tons of plurals here so far
Yes, that happens with two S's in the grid.
Clues for ps and pt please
ps + the feathery things you wear around your neck, minus the B
pt + vowel + first three letters of he who comes on Christmas
thanks for those molly, the only pt i ever remember is pterin t's trounced!
ps = p + bar of ***p* (to wash your hands with)
is it just me, or are the L words hiding? im stumped at only 8...
do you have the one for coffee, then add alternate endings
i have the singular + plural. are there others? ::dives back into grid::
yes, one more with a single hump letter ending
nice. you can also change that last vowel + then make that new word a plural. :)
thanks mom! that was a chunk more!
the hour la***s, as the sun goes down and we become sleepy. la 5/10
yw
it's not whether you win or lo4/4; it's how you play the game

Start with the coffee and end with not outs for a 7
The coffee minus the last letter

Is that a new breed? A Bichon with a pony?
sorry, slightly distracted, someone was showing me a little game on their phone
by now you know my typing is poor at best )
it's fine, just joking
:))))
i would hope the pony is the mom
have you been keeping up with the skating competitions bichon? i have missed out a lot of them this year, can't wait for worlds, wish i could have afforded to go
Worlds are going to be in London, Ontario late next month. Are you near there? I would love to go. Canadians are uber fans.
i finished the grid with the ei / 8... and i felt like one.
hands over a nice apple for the pony and tasty dog coolies for the pups

goooooooooooood evening fellow babblers xxx could someone tell me how many words please? xxx
well done sammysmom!!! it's not an easy one

ty traderkate xxx
are the si 7/28 and si 8/40 commpound words?
don't have them Kate.
se + vowel + the opp. of daytime, colloquiel spelling
se or se bichon? looking for a variation of night..
Kat you're not that far from London.
si, sorry
It would be a phoenetic pronounciation of night
yes, it is maddeningly close. saw the grand prix there in the 90's, was fantastic - the year before the olympics... they are often skating close to me - hamilton, mississauga, toronto, london....
As I said, Canadians are uber fans. I once went to Worlds in Minneapolis. They cheer so loud.
we are all insane up here - too much darkness in winter lol.... have you ever seen our very own "specskaters" 6 couples that travel to all evernt together - they wear bright pink sweatshirts and are almost always directly behin d the judges
I know them well <ggg>
back when i had money i used to run into them all the time, they really are uber fans for sure, had inner with them a few times.... i used to be on the scene all the time, everyone use to know who i was. kind of nice to be able to sit in the skaters section when invited
I used to go to lots of skating competitions. That's before I had grandchildren and still worked.
banging head against brick wall over that si rods combo...i will ignore it! that'll teach them! hahahaha you have to get the grandbabies interested, so you can go together !
groan! look at all the p words!
When Nationals was in San Jose last year I took my then 5 y.o. g'daughter. She had fun, we saw Novice events. She especially love the snack bar.
<chuckle> a couple more years and she'll be counting revolutions on the quads :_)
i like to watch the up and comers too, nice to see what's coming up the pipe
Ice Network has video of all the events at Nationals. This year they are having the 4 C's and Worlds.
ty or si7 and si8
I have 3 eights. ei, in and si. help with others pls
is that a tv station? the coverage here is very poor these days, used to watch all skating form beginnine to end, now it's top 1 or 2 flights only, and sometimes only on late at night.... unless you ante up for the expensive cable channel
need the so 8/40
hi all
pretty gloomy day here and power was out for several hours
i have that one!
No Kate. It's an on-line ice skating web site. It has everything, but it's only in the US that it shows videos [at least I think that's the case]
peri, same here. Drove to Costco and back in the poring rain
But, CBC [Canadian TV] has lots of skating. Much more than the US.
so8 offspring & vwl & fork part
*pouring
so 8/40 starts out like a piece of music...bach's so***a in g minor... (drop the last letter) then add yours, m***, and ours... is that clear as mud?
ty lyn, and bichon I knew what you meant
ty Kate
ty Kat and lyn
I really need to take fluffs out. Their curls have gone crazy in this rain. They look like they stuck their paws in the light socket.
bbl
61 left, bbs
they don't have as much as they used to. they always get the olympics, but ctv usually has the 4 c's etc.... they had the us and cdn nationals, 4 c's, will have the worlds just ran the europeans 2 weeks ago...it's shameful reallyb how theyu have reduced coverage because it's too expensive to send crews overseas like they used to... and poker is so much cheaper to show, probably with more ad revenue :(((
hi and bye peri
pi 5/12 the NIna, the *****, and the Santa Maria then pi 7/32 add not affirmative... and pl for the 8 (my monkey found them! bbs
whoa 73 S words!
they aren't too bad dan, i got all but 6 of them, and the si 7, 8 combo was clued not long ago, but i didn't get it yet
some of the p words are very elusive...or i'm going blind
try si & vwl & not day Kate
thanks lynn, i was lloking for the "night", but couldn't see it because the word is so serpentine - got it now.
often I find it is not worth while looking for the word but just typing it in
cojuld have sworn i tried it a bunch of times... maybe it's my laughable typing skills to blame?
I find quite often that is is Babble actually, doesn't always take the word - and sometimes even 'eats' them later
maybe that's what happened, good excuse anyway :)
any clues on the is words please? looks like a triplet
i & a very shiny fabric used in the 50s a lot, then vwl, then plural
thanks lynn, looking
thank you, are you finished?
one more
goooo lynn goooooo!
and done...do you need anything else before I run off?
the ep 7/32 and ep 8/45 please?
i keep looking for epistle or some variation, but must be on the wrong track
If you have the ep4.5 the sword - build on that for the person who uses the sword
have the sword, thanks you lynn, i'll find it. have a good night see you friday
it looks quite wrong but works
Bye Kate
it does look rather odd!

Hello again :)

hi all
I made stuffed portobello mushrooms for dinner and was quite disappointed in the outcome
Hi Peri
What did you stuff them with?
your icon is adorable, Molls
: )
chopt mushrooms, crushed crutons, sauted onions and garlic, parmesan cheese and pine nuts. I marinated the mushrooms in italian dressing for 24 hours.
I even used extra cheese
Sounds like good stuffing to me (minus the mushrooms, not a lover)
it sounded good to me too, will not make them again tho
hi everybody
Hi Harry
hi harry
anybody have stats for the bottom E?
the ep7/8 are odd looking words
Hello. Just doing the grid quietly today amid the gray skies of our own great Northwest.
Maybe try that same stuffing in zucchini and see if it was the stuffing or the mushrooms.
ei8/40
hmmm, maybe I will try that. have not made stuffed zucchini in a long time
Hi Gran Mere

Hi smores and nan :)
Bye for now Nan
Hiya Liz :)
Frustration at 26 left - time to start using list and more words!
62 for me
as 5 (horned viper) - used morewords - always a relief if it's a word I don't know! Though I guess it may be related to the as 4 below it!
Hmmm! hi 4 - Another anagram of lower leg bone!!!
sorry, had a phone call
*Watches as Liz solves the grid out loud* : P
:)
Ah but look how quiet I've been for the last 10 minutes! :)
May I please have a clue for as7-28? Thannks
You might describe a stupid person like this, peach.
Smores, are you still watching Touch? I finally figured out who the guy playing Norburg is. That is Lucas Haas, the little boy from the movie Witness.
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
Hi Min
Hi Min :)
Thanks, Liz.....still looking.
hey folks
Peach - donkey-like
Hi welki :)
Hey there, welkie.
Thanks much, Liz.
yw :)
Hi peach, welki
Hi there, smores.
Hey Molly, I didn't realize that was him :)
I just googled him - I wouldn't have recognised him!
The s's are going on forever!
I kept watching him on that show and knowing that I knew those big brown eyes from somewhere. It took me a while, but I figured out who he was.
Wow...it didn't seem like Witness was that long ago.
I feel that way too, but then my older two boys are around the same age as Haas, so I am in denial about how long anything has been in that regard.
Doesn't seem like Witness was that long ago, but I remember watching it with my mum - and she died over 20 years ago! Wow!
Love checking back and finding plurals I've missed - singulars too!
BRB
s's slaughtered! Phew!
Superb Liz :)
3 x to left! And actually have only used morewords a few times :)
Fireworks :)
WooHoo!!! Liz :)
Congratulations Lizlin on your fireworks! Good for U!
ty
Liz, it is no crime to use morewords.
May I please have a clue fo ti6-21? Thanks
I know that but I like to challenge myself!
back
Oh, congrats, Liz!!!!!
Male jewellery, peach. Possibly a bit old fashioned! compound word
could i get a clue for the lower right i?
Love you mouse, Molly.
your - even
ty liz - wonder why that can't be plural
It's Mr. Jingles, the circus mouse from The Green Mile. : D
Thanks so much, Liz.\
It would use the i next to the p twice if it were plural!
Is that the i you want Harry?
in 6 /18 - load a programme onto a computer
no - the i under the N
and I see what you mean about the plural - silly me :)
is 6 - i + shiny material (I think that's the right one) and 2 others build from that.
hmmmm. will work on that ty liz
i + sa 5 / 10
ah ty! finally nbt :)
WTG Harry :)
ok. 78 to go and time to list.
Any clues needed?
hi all, i need 127 clues right away! lol
OK Gwen - read my mind!!!
okay, here goes . . . Om . . . Om . . .

ooh aaah oooooooh!!
Pheew!!!! Exhausted!
it's coming in, still a little fuzzy . . .
Do people really not know what Daleks are??? How sad!
okay, i got it. oh, crap, it's a grocery list!
lol :)
here in the big ol' USA doctor who is not yet a "household name" unlike the ubiquitous star trek
LOL
I grew up with Doctor Who!
In Aus, to celebrate 50 years of 11 doctors, they're doing "a doctor a month!" Possibly in the UK too!
doctor who has yet to be shown on a major network. it has been on local syndicated stations, and PBS, and Scifi, and BBC America
i grew up with Doctor Who-knew?
I keep scanning the channels to see when the next series will start!
(with the exception of the 1996 "tv movie" which was indeed on a major network)
lol Ru :)
Was that the Paul McGann one?
Want to know more about Oswin!
i was lucky to have 1) grown up close enough to canada to see it on canadian tv and 2) an older brother who was a scifi nut and who could tune in the channel for me
Lucky for you!
(yes, the 1996 "edition" was the McGann one)
We watched it as a family, when i was a kid! I didn't like some of the later doctors fro.m the earlier series but have followed avidly again since 2005
the 8th doctor lands in America, gets shot by street gang, gets taken to hospital and operated on by a team who kills him due to ignorance. welcome to america!
Lucky that hubby enjoys it too and step son (though he doesn't live here)
well, there was an insane producer who let the show suck for several years (1980-89) and there was some really bad doctor who during those years
but i just ignore the bad parts 8-)
Me too :)
BBL if no clues needed :)
112 to go, it's gonna be a while before i start begging lol
OK - I'll check in every so often. Enjoy the grid :)
have fun now 8-)
so ryan heard me scream in my sleep. i apparently yelled out Py11 NBT NBS!
lol cos!
craziness lol
help for the lone E?
albert ei8
oooh boy cos.. we're now going to start worrying about you
my dad once spoke latin in his sleep which scared the crap out of my grandma. my dad does not know, nor has he ever known latin.
ty, never would have guessed that
wow
he was a pope in a past lifetime I bet
did he have a penchant for red slippers?
lol no
speaking of.....
you don't have to know a language (consciously, i mean) to speak some of it. e.g., i can sing a song in spanish without knowing spanish
:D
i read in an article yesterday that when the Pope steps down he will trade in his red shoes for some "nice brown ones" he saw when visiting mexico... there was an article about that seriously
I read the same article
lol nice
learned english singing school house rocks -- had no clue what "constitution" meant
maybe they can scratch in all the names of the abused kids under his watch
i think this pope is setting a nice precedent and maybe more popses will step down in the future
nose
oops
Mouth (covering for shirlockc
did you read about the bishop in england that was accused of umm.. raping??? other priests? i dont wanna call it molestation since its adult and adult crime not adult/child
I did and he's not allow to vote for the new pope
I asked my former parish priest about this the other day.. he said "do not ever ask me this again" and ended the conversation
ahh thats good didnt hear that yet thanks!
they're grown men, they hang around with other men, they wear dresses all day, what do you expect? (joke!)
he was trying to poke a hole in the reprimand :D
I used the same reasoning, Gwen, abou Jesus being gay :P
really.. don't all gay men have crosses to bear?
jesus actually hung out with both sexes, but the men who run the churches tend to leave the women out of the story
.. yeah.. book.. someone should nail down that story
Mary Magadelen had a bigger role than they say she did I think? (lol ru.. )
older editions of the bible have women's names and in newer editions they have miraculously been changed into men's names, hmmmm
that just proves he hung around with transvestites
Mary Magdalene had a much bigger role and there are those who believe that Jesus meant for her, not Peter, to carry on with his teachings.
Or her as well as Peter.
might have been no "dark ages" if there were some women running the church
it's ridiculous that women aren't allowed to be priests in the Catholic Church
ok I have a question that will make many catholics ashamed of me but its been so murky i never asked ..
Mary, mother of Jesus is not the same Mary as Mary Magadelne?
*holds breath*
pretty medieval if you ask me
No Cos.
that's right, there's a whole slew of marys in the bible , and those two are not the same person
wasn't mary magdelaine a hooker?
For the longest time I thought they were the same person so imagine my horror when I watched DaVinci Code lol... "Soo they say Jesus married his mother?"
No, that was a story fabricated about her because it was frowned upon that Jesus had taken a female apostle.
ah
bets she was a pistol of an apostle
of course my peeps were the ones who first ordained women, so i can do a moose wave about that lol
rur to the penalty box again!
ophhhh crap.. sorry
the first pi7 please?
The most Christmas tree-est
no pi7s here, sorry
No, the most like the Madonna weeping statue.
ah, ty mmolly

thanks!
and leave the cookies in there lol
nevah!! I will rot in the PB
that is a pi5/6 combo - starts like the gun, but add opp of off ending
sorry, that was a diff pi
pi 5/6 starts like gun, the add vowel + pl
too much red wine
Cos, word to those folks in Colorado. There is a reason to call off school because of snow. I can't believe kids had to spend the night in school because they couldn't get home.
well molly pot is legal.. I'm sure they're so stoned that it doesn't matter
Or maybe the school administrators were, and therefore did not have the good sense to keep schools closed.
then toss a few cookies out here lol
*cues up "White Punks on Dope" (the Tubes)
they usually close schools for the district but lke i said yesterday we were hit by a freak snow storm. no one saw it coming
That is hard to believe, as sophisticated as radar is these days.
we were supposed to get flurries but the wind began to pick up.. and it started to rain.. then things went downhill.
remember we have melted the planet. they did not forecast the weather right during the Big Blackout of 2003 either
holy crap i finished the Ps

I'm quitting with 35 left......hate to keep asking for clues and brain isn't doing it's bit with what is given. Perhaps the next grid....
seems to be a common thread, peach
anyone willing to give a clue for any of the 8's?
min, if you change your mind, let me know - will need to make reservations

how's it going?
Hello uusue2!How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
hi min
Hello Pinikula! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
so8?
good question
hi min and shirlock!
things are ok, got some clarification from Frank's doctor today that was kind of depressing
oh, I'm sorry to hear that, uu...
we thought he was scheduled for 12 cycles of chemo and then would be done unless the cancer recurred; apparently not so much. Usually after 12 cycles people are ready for a break but how long he continues will be determined by how his scans look
and even if nothing shows up on the scan they may want to continue the chemo (? we are not exactly clear on this) to avoid recurrences
oh my...i do hope the course is swift and doesn't cause him too much discomfort...perhaps the few extra are "better to be on the safe side" kinda thing? just a thought...
so far he is doing pretty well physically but it is a real emotional roller coaster
and he's just started his 6th cycle; after 12 he may be pretty frazzled physically as well, we'll just have to see
I can only imagine...
...I can't offer much there except "keep your chin up!" (and offer thoughts and prayers for a healthy end)
thanks - it is good to know that people are thinking of us.

Words, their variants, inflections and affixes intrigue me.

yes knight?
Hi all :)
hey liz
Babble to relieve brain strain, Rose!
sorry - entered in error
Are you at least enjoying mixing with others and discussing - whatever it is you discuss?
aga--ain, liz. i didn't know that there was so much to learn. i thought i was quite up to date. * sigh *
yeah, and they're all saying the same thing. brain overload.
I think that medicine, like so much else moves forward very quickly. It's so hard to keep up to date.
oh, and some of them must be recently qualified. they are only babies to look at. lol
Good Evening Everyone. First time here tonight; I'm not going to start h
How much of it are you expected to remember - in real life that is - or can you refer to journals etc?
Hi Nef :)
hi Lizlin. How are you tonight? I actually fell asleep here and the cat startled me awake :-)
Enjoying the first lovely day here in a while!
liz, i have to give a few in-services to my colleagues. :( so this weekend will be taken up with formatting those.
i think we sent our rain down to Melbourne - but I think they're grateful for it.
I remember those days Rose - courses and then the feedback to others!
lol, we sure are liz, thanx very much
With loads of IT input, i expect - power point shows etc.
oh, well. the in-services will add to my CPD points tally.
You're welcome and please keep it! We've got guests arriving on 11 March - I'd like them to see a sunny Aus!
* splutter * liz, i'm not that clever.....
And do those CPD (funny how acronyms cross into so many different fields) points help your annual increments?
I'm sure you are!
liz send them to WA where there is nothing but sunshine
everytime I see a cloud I am filled with joy!
yes, liz. actually i enjoy doing the courses, it's the presentations after i dislike.
it is way too hot here!
Isn't the cyclone Russell (is that the one) going to work its way down the west coast, like Oswald did here?
I also always hated that!
ssory, Iccan't seem to stay awke. Goodnight All! Happy Babbling!
I could stand in total confidence in front of a school load of kids - but adults ... hated that!
night nef, lol. sleep well, hun
Night Nef - sleep well :)
it is but not this far south. It has missed the populated areas and has only hit in remote areas but it is bringing rain to some stations which is great, I hope the cloud will descend to bring us a little rain
Hope so too, Sandy :)
When is your rainy season?
i think it's because the adults can be so critical. and when i think about it, there are usually a few doctors in the room while i am presenting. i'm afraid that one day i will make an absolute booboo.
winter time, june july august but our winter is like the english summer (winter is nice except for some storms which I love anyway)
I remember that - then there are the ones, who are just waiting to challenge something you say ...
how about a clue for the as7 please
Winter here is like an English summer - but without the humidity! I like winter here!
yeah, so i have to be absolutely certain that what i say is correct...can't be seen to bumble around a topic. lol.
You might call a stupid person as 7 - donkey-like!
as7, as + vowel + number before 10
BBS :)
thanks for that
later, dear friend
gran I read your profile, firstly, that baby is gorgeous and secondly I loved the story about your health, are you still ok?
sandy, sure am, hun.
wow how fabulous
what are you speaking about to adults?
really must upload pics of claudia, that's deacon's little sister. she is nearly 3 years old.
sandy, i have to do a few in-services on cardiac drugs and how they effect a patient, either therapeutically or adversely.
are you a doctor then?
speaking to adults can be daunting especially your peers
i have to reduce a 70 page course to 10-15 pages. lol, no, hun. i'm a critical care nurse working in operating theatres. we have just moved into cardiac surgery.
fantastic at your age (I am around your age) that you are so productive
strange you should ask that. the other day mother mac asked me why she had to visit our GP regularly, as she reckons i'm as good as a doctor. i, laughingly, told her we needed him to write her prescriptions.
sandy, you have no idea how i envy you your life-style.
nursing can be a difficult job but I have come across many younger nurses whom I don't believe should be nurses, they no longer seem to have that care factor that a lot of the older nurses had
Gran, the lifestyle will improve in the future , but now we are doing it tough and it is still too hot here
clue for la7/28?
On the whole , it is great and our neighbours are amazing - they have helped us so much and are so generous with their knowledge and time
la6, la + smelling organ on your face
sorry got distracted
la7, start of white coffe + plural of opposite of outs
I love young nurses
LOL rur
ah, ty rose
ruru!!!! where were you? jmc was flashing all over the place.
