Shalom, ARB!
Ma nishmah?
maybe there is hope for me yet. I'm the babbler type that considers getting 50% of the words earns half-fireworks and I don#t even achieve that every day. .
NBT/NBS
Marmar, babblers who know me know I pursue "mediocrity" which is nbt, nbs, at least half the ord count and all 7+s.
The 7s are eluding me on this one.
what melon said :)
the boys are busy in this one
no 7's no 8's
i have wo8 no 7s though
an 7, wo 8
Oh, I saw the clues on lickety, just not seein' da woids!
that sounds extremely reasonable to me melon. something for me to shoot for! hmmmmm....all the 7+s...well, like I said something to shoot for.
It keeps me sane, and to bed by 2 am Eastern Time!

anyway spring is coming, yay! Daylight saving starts next Sunday!
thankfully, wish we could stay on DST all year
OK, got all the 7s and the 8. One of the 7s is hard to find in any dictionary, the sort of word that would make my late mom's eyes roll in any Scrabble® game.
Three of the 7s are compound words, at least one was a fish-slpper.
me too flosey
only have 2 sevens so far, so good to know
woud you be able to give the ststs for the 7's please melon
glad Lickety is up as far as I'm concerned
the stats are all there
lickety has not refreshed on my laptop. to get it i will have to shut down. i tried a reboot but did not work!
That is true, just click on Lickety's Babble Clues below the stats.
i knew that! lol
Oh, my. Well, then: an7/32, de7/48, ne7/48, ro7.36, and se7/(guess what?)48. Thise identical point counts are a clue in itself.
thanks!
ty mel
My pleasure. Still short of halfway...
Hi all :)
hi liz
OK, mediocrity attained. Stopping at 106 wo4s, all ≥ 7s, nbt, nbs. Good night!
I always forget that de 7
wtg melon, and sleep tight!
bye melon, well done!
thanks. [poof!] You do know poof, Medusa? If not, now you do! With this, I exit. [poof]
can't stay awake -- -- over halfway -- goodnight all...*poof
babblers must all be exhausted after yesterday's grid, it's so quiet in here
Hi flosey :)
hi liz, nice to have company in here
I was here, then left, then came back!
glad you're back
I was late coming in, finishing a jigsaw puzzle online
it's nice when people are here to chat :)
I'm dead tired, should be in bed
Nearly 6 pm here - I'm fairly word blind after the last grid!
I gave up, otherwise i''d have been on here all day
I completed it but don't think I'd do such a large grid again. Don't like spending so much time in front of the computer!
I did continue here - played bridge online with an old friend from east coast
Always good catching up with old friends - over games or not!
.don't know him personally, we've just been playing together for years
But that's just as much an old friend!
yes
Only have 2 x 7 - even with melon's clues about the points!
I have 2 also, no 8
The 8 is a compound word - found it by chance very early on. Just playing about - didn't think it was really a word!
nice to find a big word that way
I can clue it if you'd like!
yes please
OK - wo 8 / 70 - wriggly things in the ground + apple cores contain these
ty, would not have thought to put that together
As I said, i was just messing around!
just having a sneezing fit here
Bless you :)
ty
BBL - sleep well flosey :)
I'm off to bed, have been through the list once, 42 words for tomorrow
good morning
hi ruby, nice to see you, am just trotting off to bed
12:13
sweet dreams flosey
new computer, but it's fr and I can't puctuate properly
or even spell
hi ruby I just sent you a photo of Di and her horse
when is the puppy coming
hi all
ooh......
hello Sandyloo, back again, can't slleep,
still there flosey?
Hello all!
hi kyle not many here i fear
That's ok Sandy! I know it's pretty early... How are you?
I am good I live in Australia so its 7.30pm here
I have driven thru n carolina
Wow! Its only 630 am here! My best friend just came back from Australia. She spent an entire month there and said she loved it!
where did she go and it is fabulous here , the food is very good LOL
They went all over the place. They didn't stay anywhere too long so I think they got to see quite a bit of your beautiful coutry. (and she LOVED the food)
I live in Margaret River on a farm in west aus. it is a beautiful wine growing area
I see you haven't been with babble for very long, I find it very addictive - at the moment we don't have tv as we are building on the farm (only dvds) so I have taken to babble again its fun and nice people
Is that where your picture is from? It looks beautiful
Someday I will get to travel. I would love to see Australia
at the moment it is very dry as it is our summer but soon it will be green again - you will love our restaurants
does it snow where you are?
It does, occassionally.... we didn't get anything this year except a little bit of flurries here and there.... more of those called for on Wednesday
I am used to th snow though. We lived in Massachusetts for 8 years. It snowed like crazy there!
no snow here in west aus but it does snow over east here it just rains and not too cold
Heavy snowfall in the forecast here.
Ihave seen snow on a few occasions but never seen it falling
It gets cold here, just not this year apparently. Hello BR!
hi babs
I just will not lift it
sometimes the forecast is for light snow ... but I have never seen any lights
ha ha babs, I see you are from antarctica
I don't know how you do it... I was pretty young when we moved away from that much snow, but I don't think I could do it now...
most days we need a jacket
is that right babs, I expect you would need a jacket of some sort in antarctica
I am an old geezer oblivious to reality
lol so am i
good afternoon all!
Hello Sprite!
hi spritey
hi kyle and sandy :)
how is your dog?
sleeping at my feet. Snoring, actually. He is happy and playful and funny and sweet.
how old is he now?
4 last month. Can you believe it?
I can't it seems like yesterday you got him
I know. It is so weird.
so much has changed in the last four years
sure has.
for you even more than for me, I think, with building the new place and all.
it sure has, and it has been our hottest summer in living records so that has made this summer hard to bear
I can imagine. Must be hellish at times.
I am looking forward to april when our rains will start and the cooler weather will be here
our winters are delightful
almost, sandy! One more month to go.
I am on the countdown, I went for a 2 hour horse ride yesterday and I am feeling a little sore today
ouch :)
I do lots on the ground with the horses and am getting into riding again now
will take a while for your body to adjust again
not too long , i don't feel too bad it's surprising really
I am not as confident as i used to be, the ground is getting further away
once you're back to daily practice, that feeling will probably pass. You have so much experience.
Hi all :)
hi liz
hi Liz :)
liz did you finish yesterday, i bet sprite did
yeah. Was a fun one.
Yes, I finished early this afternoon - with a lot of help from more words! And of course the wonderful list from Gremlinn!
I only got halfway , i didn't start until 2 hours to go, I like those biggies
Hello all.
I don't think I'll tackle such a large one again - though I wanted to do it once! It took me so long and I really don't want to spend so long on the computer! I had to drag myself away to go for a walk!
finishing is not important. Fun while playing is.
hiya Scrabs
That's true but I'm competitive with myself!
:)
Hi scrabs :)
My friend has been touring in Australia and NZ since Feb 8th.
hi scrabs longtime no see
wow. Must have been hot.
I hope your friend hasn't been over this side (east) - we've had so much rain over the past month!
how are your rabbits scrabs?
Temps fine here - around 27 C but so wet!
very hot here in the west
They will return March 6th and I will make her snowshoe and XC-ski with me on Friday.
That'll bring her back to reality!
The bunnies are adorable. I will have a bunny-sitter Sat-Tues while I visit a cousin a few hours from here.
lol,no bunnie respite centre then?
a bunny sitter -- what a great job! :-)
Never heard of one. They will be happy and a neighbor will take good care of them.
She is a dog and cat owner so this will be fun for her.
ahi Une :)
morning, all! BRB -- taking pups out to pee . . .
scrab, our cat has killed three rabbits here on the farm, i am surprised that a cat can even do that, but the rabbits are a pest here
not lovely pets
I do feel sorry about it tho
Bunnies are cute pets in the UK too!
Yikes. I know that many people see rabbits and squirrels as pests.
we used to have some as pets ages ago, I thought they were sweet
but we ended up with way too many
They are sweet, cute and funny.
kind of depends on the amount of them you have around... and the amount of damage they cause
the wild ones are brown the pet ones are pretty colours
Well, I found 85 and must now get ready to leave for work. Bye everybody.
bye Scrabs, have a good day at work
by scrabs
hello everyone :)
Bye scrabs - have a good day :)
hi Annie :)
hi annie
I missed scrabbs, bye
Hi Annie :)
hi sandy, sprite, Liz
I had 100 left when I gave up yesterday, didnt have a list but enjoyed the grid
me too and i didn't finish either
yesterday's was a fun one
this one isn't too bad
sprite, did you finish sans list?
yes
I've slowed down now at 70 left. Just started using the list - so happy lickety's back today :)
I dont know how you do it, sprite. You are amazing
Wow Sprite! That's amazing :)
I love Lickety.
not really. Just years of practice :)
amazing, too.
I agree with Annie
I think we all play in the way that gives us most fun. For me, that is without a list, that's all.
i have to admit that i love lickety too
I think that's true - I wait as long as possible before listing and longer before using more words! I began to find it less fun because I had to use morewords so much on the last grid!
There were so many words, I just wasn't seeing them! It wasn't that so many of the words were so unusual!
like the mi5, I haven't heard that one before
when there are lots of series, I do usually well. But some grids have all those insular words and then I am happy to be able to use the list.
mi 5 was? dont remember
no , i mean on this one
oh ok, lol
just a funny little word
Could be why I don't have mi 5! I'd take a clue though!
that one is the same in dutch, so that's easy for me
act wrong, Liz
an unmarried lady is a mi* and **n't get married until you have met the perfect man
Hello everyone :)

good morning everyone
lots of easter words
hello alibabas
gm, everyone!
hello Mom!
(((LBD))) good morning!
Hi ((Mom)) do you do yesterday's grid..I had 100 left when I quit
Hi dawg!
*d8d
*did
((Annie)) I did only 162 words
cant type
it was a fun one to do
Yes, It was fun but I missed Lickety
Yes, it would have been nice to have had
Just found the da 6/24 in distress
I guess he has moved on with his life and so have MrP
Lickety put the list up today..haven't heard from mrp in ages
*has
That is good to know. It is nice of him to continue doing so
(((MOM))) (((ANNIE)))
nor have I, Annie. Last I heard she had gotten engaged and posted a picture of her ring on Facebook
Yes, it is and we all appreciate it.
Did Lickety and mrp divorce?
omg, i'm so out of the loop and all the goings on here in babble land.
me too, dawg
I don't know if they are divoreced or not. But I did hear he has / had a girlfriend and she has this man in her life
I had to check to see if either were on before I say this .....
It is the children I feel for, my heartaches for them
ahem, how does one get engaged while one is still married?
it is a new one for me also
Nuff said.
indeed
divorce in progress, not finalized...the celebs do it all the time! lol
pretty sweet to have one waiting in the wings. :-)
<-------- glad I am not a celeb
I should think there should be a rest period but then I am old fashioned.
i wish them both happiness. i know they both love the kids to dickens.
I agree 100% Annie but I am also old fashioned
That's what counts, dawg
as do I LBD and their love for the children is well stated
I know what you mean about a rest period Annie. People need time to heal in between relationships. If that doesn't happen, the baggage from the previous relationship bleeds into the next one.
I think children need time to heal from divorce though
What I just posted is a comment, not a judgment.
alas, since i don't know the whole story, i think i'll dive back into the grid
oh LBD, stay and we will change the subject. How is your weather?
cold and sunny here...spring is around the corner
17 and sunny here. snow and rain tonight through Wednesday :-(
((Molly)) good morning
Bundle up, Mom and start a fire in the fireplace tonight
We have a winter storm headed our way too, Mom.
was 50+ degrees yesterday...currently 20. brrr. got some snow last evening, but it's all melted and now mostly ice and mud
I am hoping it is more rain than snow for us. Let the Ohioans have the snow
brrr, LBD
I need to pick up a few things at the store for sweetie, should have done it yesterday. Had I known it was going to snow I would have. Everyone and their brother will be out
we haven't really had a winter here this year. mostly just yucky grey skies. more like Washington or Oregon weather.
21 degrees and snowing here.
Mom, How is your sweetie coming along?
I think that is worse than anything, LBD
Hi Scrabbs :)
hi molly, hi scrabs
Hi Scrabbler, I am finished with Downton Abbey now and ready for season 4 to come out
Annie, he is sore, he gets his stitches out tomorrow and will then start PT. But he is improving each day
i could handle a good heavy snow. well, not feet of snow but a few inches would be okay.
agreed, LBD as long as there was some sun with it
What happened to your husband, Mom?
Mom, I wish him the best of speedy recoveries
He has a herniated / buldging disc
thanks Annie, I figure him to be home at least another 4 weeks
Ugh, I have had problems with that since 1983. Four flare-ups, I think. Brutal pain.
poor mr. mom. hope he heals and recovers soon.
thank you all
it is, Scrabbler, so painful.
is he a good patient or the stereotypical blusterer
Blessings to Mom's sweetie.
he is an excellent patient
thanks Molly
Nerve pain is severe, burning, and difficult to escape from. Every episode helped me to understand chronic pain.
chronic pain becomes a normal sensation as the years pass by
that is what he says, Scrabbler. Personally I think he just needs to retire. His job as an elevator mechanic requires so much squatting, bending, twisting and that does not help
good morning BabbleRabble, that is a comfort :-)
BR is right. I suffer from peripheral idiopatic neuropathy and sometimes I feel the pain as a normal way of life.
((Annie))
True, BR, although sometimes the intensity makes life unbearable.
Annie, is the pain well-controlled?
Yes and no. I take Gapentin 1800 mgs a day. Buying shoes is sheer torture.
there are so many dangers to that chronic pain...we get "used" to it, and ignore signs of real problems
Scrabbs, Lyrica was mentioned to me a another med. to take but I cannot get off Gabapentin completely the pain becomes unbearable.
what is problematic for me is the dissipation of resilience ... then emotional well-being takes a dive
Yes, BR, I can relate to that
True, BR. Suffering can outweigh any joys.
I wish there were no dualistic approach to treatment
What do you mean, BR?
doctors treat physical ailments and psychiatrists treat mental .... the treatment team should take a holistic approach
Oh, yes, for sure. Emotional issues create physical issues. Physical issues create emotional issues. In kids we often see chronic abdominal pain and headaches as the manifestations of depression and/or anxiety. And I wish I could see what family life is really like for kids.
depression can cause physical problems and physical problems can cause mental
i think that should be WHOLE-istic...more people might get the full spectrum of help they need.
Some docs get it, many do not.
does anyone have the 8
i've had students/clients come to me and list a pharmecopia of uppers and downers prescribed for pain, anxiety, depression, etc. and none of them had any follow up treatment with a counselor/shrink to work with the meds. just take the magic pill and be better.
That is SO common, dawg. People need to learn coping strategies.
*shoving soap box back into corner of pb* must be off for a bit, 22 remaining.
bye bye ((LBD))
Big Pharma and direct advertising has done its job ... and even has a heavy hand in determining what is abnormal requiring more pills
Hi wurdygurl, I don't have the 8 sorry
NP mom
wo8--compound word
uh oh PB for me -------->
nah, stay Annie and thank you for the great clue
BR, that is SO true. The umbrellas that encompass depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD have become so large that those diagnoses are now meaningless.
no worries annie. I already had that one. still working on the compound. Is the first part the squirmy thing in dirt?
TY for squirmy thing
youre welcome, Mom. I'm staying. The larder is bare in the PB,
yes, wurdy
The profits for Big Pharma are so large, the multimillions in fines are considered a cost of doing business
wurdy , and the second part is what you plant in earth
BAM! Tanks!
Big Pharma = out-of-control monster.
TY, Annie, I tried wo4we4.
thanks Annie
I must scoot and get to the store. ((Hugs)) to all of you
Doesnt the FDA have any control over these monsters?
85 to go, and I am out for a bit
Bye Mom
bye bye Scrabbler
I cannot believe all the meds that are now advertised on TV.
bye Wurdygurl
bye ((Mom)) and hugs to your sweetie.
((Annie)) bye bye. thanks I will be sure to give him the hug
I am ashamed of my colleagues--docs that do not know enough about their decisions, that readily prescribe meds, especially the newer ones when the "old" tried and true meds work well and are known to be safe.
Or docs that want to please the patient so fulfill patients requests.
Docs that get perks when they write new scrips for the meds.
The FDA is underfunded and our reps want to keep Big Pharma happy to ensure their campaign coffers are satiated
It is depressing.
The insurance industry has incurred my wrath too
My previous colleague, Dr Richard Head, did seminars on a particular antibiotic, (got paid for doing these talks), then urged us to use it for ear, sinus and throat infections. Good old amoxicillin still works, or, even more true is that antibiotics are usually not needed at all.
Medical care is such a mess, it really is.
Big Pharma even funds front organizations created ostensibly to help consumers and does help but pills are pushed too
Oh, I remember Dick.
I am missing a Q. I have qu4, 5, 4, 5, 4, 5
NAMI for one
Annie, my nightmares about him have become much less frequent.
Scrabbs, He is not worth it. Chuck him.
two qu 5/16
I try to not think about him.
post traumatic stress
both use the same letters ... the last two are transposed
Yes, Annie. He is a bully and abuses, demeans and degrades anyone that threatens his inflated ego.
Aha, TY, BR!
My grandson is dealing with someone like you describe and he is only 12.
A classmate?
hi all
Not exactly a classmate but they attend the same school and know the same people.
hi jmc
hello
hello fan
Annie, this is what I read that helped me a lot: http://www.halcyon.com/jmashmun/npd/
hello annie
Hi jm and MLFAN
the best retort i came up with for bullies was "nice. I bet you stayed up late last night thinking that one out." I spent a childhood with bullies
Or ignore the bully--no eye contact, no reaction at all--this takes away their "power"
yes that helps too. . . i read your link. . . my "stalker" is a narcissist...it is amazing how he can suck perfectly reasonable people in .. . for a while
My grandson plays a game on the internet and this bully excluded him from a game. How does one deal with that?
I realized, at my old medical practice, that Richard Head surrounded himself by passive, submissive, weak people except for the office manager. She was a bully too.
he starts his own game and invites other people in. . .
I will read halcyon later, thanks Scrabbs
4th column E stats please?
Yes, great suggestion, jm.
Arab leader = em4
yes, jmc..good
haha when the boy played one of those first person shooter games that happened all the time and he figured out how to deal with it. . . .
I am still waiting for a patient to show up here at the INdian Resveration Clinic. I have been here since 8.
ty scrabbler
Also, eo4
oh de** they have their own sense of time this patient?
No concept of time at all.
nbt
jmc good thing you caught yourself on that one:)
Ugh, I finally have a patient and it is a teenage girl. My worst kind of patient. *deep breathing*
*pats sc on back*
hello hurshy
hello
wtg mlf
Hi hurshy
hang in there scrabs
i see we have only a half size grid today :)
hi hursh
well it is a working day for most of us. . . .
Be back soon.
bye, scrabbs
is the wo an extension of the wo 4/9 or 5/20?
phone
ext. of wo 9 *poof*
bye annie
huh?
i assume she meant the wo 4/9
i was hoping thats what she meant jmc lol
it is a compound word
but there is more than one wo4/9, and what length are we shooting for with the compound?
got it wo 8
wo8 hursh
which ne is it for ne 7?
NEVER MIND
it is off the squiggly one
nbt and nbs i am ou t poof
and i now will go make some coffee in the pb since i had only found one wo4/9 at that point

i think we have a winner! (student who just showed up to interview to work in our department)
Yay! That is encouraging.
and was so impressive you hired them on the spot?
you survived the teenage girl scrabs!
no, pam's interviewing her now. but we haven't had any other applicants so as long as she seems good...
No, the SLOW, SLOW nurse is still in the room getting her ready.
i miss the days when i had lots of potential. i'm not enjoying these years of not living up to it.
ah well that is one way to hire. . . haha
will having a student help that?
no, seeing the student reminds me of when i was a student and people thought highly of me
but people want to hire a student, i can't stop them
tsk hursh i think highly of you. . . i suppose that is not much. . . but there you go
But, Hurshy, you are not in a job that you enjoy, right?
that is correct, scrabbler.
can you do something you enjoy outside of the job?
You are so bright, Hurshy, that I am not sure you will find a position just right for you. nrkii has been having the same problem and remains unemployed.
well, i read... i watch tv... i do things with friends... i don't have the energy to do like, volunteer work... what with the insomnia and the migraines...
i don't need a position just right for me. i would be happier with one where i had a bit more to do.
is it possible if you did some volunteer work or decided to write some of that would be better?
Guess what? NO nurse brought my patient into a room! They are so lazy and incompetent here. I had to go speak with the nurses when I saw 2 patients have arrived and neither are in rooms.
and someday maybe i will get another degree and do something more specific.
When will your husband finish his degree, Hurshy?
yikes scrab!
*snort*
i don't know, he's being slow about his dissertation.
i hate to sound all pollyanna. . . but having struggled with depression over leaving my job that was so important assuming that i would get another one. . . i finally decided that if i wanted more things to do i should just do them. . .
i have been doing some self-educating, reading things at work. it makes things a bit better.
so i set up a friend sending me a weekly nag so that i knew that i had to have done something before she contacted me. . .it has helped tremendously. . .and i just set a goal and each day do something towards it. . .
are there not classes at your school you could take in a different subject? (don't know your subject or i would suggest some)
afternoon all
i'm preferring the self-study, thanks.
eavesdropping on your conversation jmc & hurshy - have either of you heard of/tried Coursera?
i find having a little structure helps even though i am by nature an entrepreneurial person
It is an online university where the courses are free of charge, put on by the best universitiies in the world. I've done a couple of courses, they are very good.
there don't seem to be as many sw words as i would have thought
no but it looks right up my alley! i am done with group projects. . . grrrr
video lectures, reading materials, and you can even get credits if you want to sit tests, online chat rooms & semkinars
subjects as diverse as psychology, philosophy and rocket science
only 3 x sw
well i am taking my pollyanna self off to do laundry and other fun stuff. . . .bbl
That sounds great, Glan. So I could get some course credit toward finishing my degree there?
I believe so, I've been doing the courses for fun and not sitting the tests, but you can do it properly and gain a set number of credits towards qualificaions - have a look at their website - it's impressive
we are talking world class universities collaborating - stanford, harvard, edinburgh,
Will do. I went back to school in 2011 after 30 years of being away and loved it. Had to quit again due to heart attack but very much want to finish. Money has been the issue now.
Do you know if it's still free if you want to take the tests and get credit?
probably not
Mornin' folks

nice to see Lickety's list up and not have 506 words to find
I recommended Babble to a player on Boggle Bash but I'm afraid seeing that 506 may have scared her off!
is Boggle Bash an on line game?
Yes, it's POGO. I play it through my Wild Tangent site.
*sings* we do the bash... we do the boggle bash...
what's POGO? Play Or Go Oway?
♪♪Love music in the morning...
LOL, hurshy. Just an online games site. I'm not actually very keen on it.
unless it's british, maybe it's Play Or Go 'Ome
Morning friends
Hi, Bob.
Hi Mr Bob
Hi Mr. Bob
well, i'd say D is today's hardest letter.
I'm struggling with A LOL, Ds mostly done
I have 6 so far, hurshy.

Gotta scoot for now. Have a good one and hugs all around.
bye mimi
and look at the coursera website
Going to do so right now, Glan. Thanks.
ohhh... d's aren't as hard as i thought, it's just that since i don't use profanity, i didn't see those right away.
or maybe it's not cause i don't use it, but more because silent consonants are always harder to see.
hurshy: i thought of you when i saw the flower show preview. it is british themed this year.
ty hurshy, needed those.. hi Babblers

I often have a hard time with A words. There seems to be no file marked A in my memory banks.

How did you do yesterday with the big grid Molly? I got over half way, but we went out for the rest of the day.

I really wnated to finish yesterday's grid but gave up with 70 to go.
Between the size, no list and having to go out, thought I did well getting half way
what is the babble record?
The good news is that I finally saw a dentist, and she was a really good dentist. She took my offending tooth otu, as painlessly as it is possible to do. I just have to heal now and see her again in two weeks to decide whether the other tooth can be saved.
there was a puzzle over 700 a year or so ago
I find it very difficult to complete large grids with no Lickety.
good news, glan.

Yay for Bich and Mr. Bich!
I've never won anything before
Mr. Bich is know as the "Man who knows everything"
Way to go, Bichon. I thought I smelled "smugginess" in the air.
Judi, my dentist will prescribe percocet over the phone. : D
He does the puzzle every day in ink and times himself
Gotta love that dentist, Molly. Gotta be careful with those perkies, though. Hairy stuff.
I've never actually taken them, he's just offered. And to be fair, I've known him for 25 years so he knows I'm not the kind to call in pain if I'm not really in pain. He has Saturday hours too. He is a Dentist God.
Sat. hours, sounds like a dream.
My dentist is like that too. Fortunately, I don't need any dental work beyond cleanings.
*gasp* a dentist who works weekends *gasp
Judi, you must be one of those lucky ones who benefited from flouride in the water
Mostly just always flossed and brushed like a good girl, Bichon. It really pays off. I never got a cavity until I was about 40.
i have 2 children, sadly my son has my teeth and needs fillings and will have problems when he's older. my daughter has her father's teeth, and oth of them have such hard teeth that dentist drill bits have been known to break - it's the luck of the draw
daugher has about 2 fillings, son has a mouthful, both ahve good dentl hygiene and diet
Hubby has a mouthful of old silver fillings. They are deteriorating now and he is in the process of getting them all replaced with amalgam. Fun stuff.
I was born in '46 well before the age of flouride. I have fillings, crown and one root canal
50 left and have to go get a haircut - back later
Judi, tell me about your icon?
A lot of us grew up on properties with well water. So, I don't think I was subjected to flouride until I was about 11.
I guess that's probably too late. All your teeth were formed
Aloy - just a cool picture I found on the National Geographic website. Picture of the moon as seen through a arch in a slot canyon.
My kids have no or few cavities
oh.. ok ! I was staring at it, wondering if it was a closeup of an eyeball
That's another thing I like about it.
much to my disbelief, my kids do not have any cavities. (hi, y'all!) I have a lot of fillings - had the silver ones replaced probably 8 years ago.
yes, now I can see it.. very cool!
hi hokie
Any child who had exposure to flouridated water in utero and beyond, probably has few to no cavities
I brushed and brushed when I was a kid, and we had fluoride water while growing up (I think). No idea what happened.
It's hard to know if the water was definitely flouridated or not. And, if your mom drank the water when she was pregnant
what if your mom drank bourbon instead of flouride?
sorry ruru, don't think that would help your teeth, but probably ruin your brain
True, but water fluoridation was widespread in 1960 (according to wiki, so that could be wrong), and I was born in '73. My mom certainly wasn't drinking bottled water back then.
they did make us swish fluoride at school every so often.
My son was born in '73. And I know definitely that our water was flouridated then. But, even today, some water is not flouridated
it was a good year. ;-)
I ate lots of candy when I was a child, but I didn't let my children have as much access to it.
I'm sure I did, too, and was allowed to drink a lot of Coke. I even called it "Cokie" when I was really little. But I am from the Appalachians, home of Mt. Dew Mouth.

Hi EvaN
(we just had our kitchen redone last week: cabinets resurfaced and new countertops. Now we've been cleaning up everything and putting things away; throwing out -or donating- all of the old outdated stuff and all the stuff we haven't used in the past 20 years)
hiya nef. :)
is it your Birthday today, EvaN? If so HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
tadone! finito!! hi again, everyone!
YAY, lbd!!! WTG!!!

Nef, it was a few weeks ago, but i was milking it for the entire month of february. ;) guess its about time to change it over, though...
hi jmc. I'm trying not to get back to work on the kitchen; but have to do it now.
back for at least some of the last 50
Eva, as we're into March you should think about keeping it for a whole year, then when the next one comes around you won't be any older as you'll still be celebrating this birthday ;)
not a bad plan, chrissie. ;)

Thank you.
yw...I see we like some of the same authors :)
That was an odd one.
lol
I've been in a strange non-reading mood lately and I need to reacquaint myself with some of my favorites.
They don't write them fast enough fo me
i won't be able to read til I get back home
Yes, that is how it is with some of my favorites. I'm lucky that my sister is worse than I am and she usually buys them the second they come out and then I just have to wait a day or so to nab hers.
lol...I use the library, but have to wait for them sometimes
I've read quite a few Young Adult books lately (vetting them for my teenage daughters) and it takes a lot of those authors more than a year to put out a sequel. Then I have to reread the entire series because I'm old and forgetful!
lol
i find myself picking up books that i've read years ago and don't remember til I start reading them again
Me too.
i keep telling myself to make a list, but can never remember all the titles
I used to do that with some of my favorite romance authors but they are such prolific writers that I decided I didn't need to track down all of their old ones and read them. I try to read all of whatever an author I like has written. I don't know if it is possible to keep up with Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb. She's a writing machine!
I have a list of my favorite authors' next book coming out that I carry with me all the time. I read mostly mysteries.
If I find a new one that I like, I will go back and read the whole series from the beginning. Usually get them from used book stores or the library.
i like john sandford and stuart woods too
I read John Sandford. Hubby reads Stuart Woods. I carry a separate list for his authors.
Me too. I don't think I've read any Stuart Woods books. I've read a few John Sandford. Harlan Coben is pretty good too. I don't read near as many male authors. I guess I'm sexist.
I like mysteries too.
I like Harlan Coben too. Have read the whole Myron Bolitar series and several of his stand alones.
lol
haven't tried those authors and of course there is Stephen King
I really like authors with a good sense of humor. I am even willingly to overlook some writing errors if the author is funny enough.
Have you read Janet Evanovich? I laugh out loud at some of hers
i liked her series, but not the extras...is the movie out yet of Stephanie Plum?
Yes, I love her.
The movie "One for the Money" came out a while back. Haven't seen it yet though
it'll be on dvd soon
i'm done...gotta go fix lunch...enjoy babbling and reading!
Bye, phaeton!
Congrats!
I love Janet Evanovich but the movie was not good. the casting was awful.
I like Harlan Coben too the the Myron Bolitar series
Oh...haven't seen it yet. Maybe I'll just let it slide
I laugh out loud at Janet Evanovich's books too. gotta love Lula. You can probably get the dvd at the library
I haven't watched it yet. Mainly because of the casting. I'm not a big fan of Katherine Heigl and I couldn't understand why they would cast an Irishman to play an Italian. What? There aren't any capable Italian actors?
if you like medical thrillers Michael Palmer is good.
I love Grandma Mazur.
Grandma Mazur makes me laugh out loud. She comes up with some zingers
Grandma Mazur is a hoot.
:::making a note of Michael Palmer:::
Grandma Mazur needs to have her nails done in one of the future books. Can you picture her with some long fake nails?
Yay! Fireworks! Not a moment too soon. I'm keeping my baby niece and she will be here any minute. Anybody want any clues before I ride off into the sunshine?
yay for smithchick
I only have the an7. clues for the others 7's pls.
Congrats Smithchick. Enjoy the day
I don't have any an7's yet
I'm working on it but my computer just did something weird and erased my post midway through. de7, ne7 (compound word) ro7 (same ending as ne7) and se7 (also a compound word but with a different ending). There is just the one an7- a blood condition.
Jonathan Kellerman is also very good. he write psychological thrillers. The Alex Delaware series is good but he has written lots of others. his wife Faye Kellerman is a good author as well.
The de7 is one of those fun words that actually has no dictionary definition. It is d with the double vowels and then another word for pale.
I think I may have read one of his before.
thanks for the 7's, looking
ty for the de7
I've read some of each of theirs but not the whole series
I used to read Karin Slaughter but I'm a child and she killed off one of my favorite characters (who was the main character in several of her series) so I stubbornly refuse to read her anymore.
That'll teach her!
Just come in on this conversation. Love John Kellerman too - but love the best John Katzenbach - gripping
Morning everyone
I'll have to look him up. I've never read him or even heard of him. Good morning.
:::making a note of John Katzenbach::: Thanks for the suggestions
Alright, I'm out of here. Everybody enjoy the rest of the day and the puzzle!
Bye
For an author with humor, I also like Carl Hiaasin
Don't know if I spelled his name right
I have just started reading Bill Bryson books - very information and entertaining. I should have started years ago
Is he the one who wrote A Walk in the Woods?
Yes
Time for a break BBL
I like Carl Hiassin too
I am not seeing the ne7 ro 7 or se7

duh, ty River
I dont have the other two yet

in fact I am missing 3 7's

sorry bichon, i just got here

does anyone know the ma 5/18?
nm, I see
singular of the ma 6/30
no, but looks like we all should - highest anti-oxidant plant
the last wo word 8/70 ... it has to begin like the siggly thing before it, but i can't figure out the last 3 letters, any clues?
what you grow all plants from

wiggly soil thing + plants make these and you grow them.
hi Zooz!
Hello, Lynxxx :-)
gort it, thanks lyn and zooz. w's are completed in record time :)
BBL - we are at the start of another run of 30+ days - and Stew like me doesn't like the heat so we'll do an early morning walk. I keep getting a whiff of burning, there must be bushfires somewhere (a long way away)
Hope you cool down on your walk, Lynxxx..enjoy.
take care lyn, see you tomorrow. thanks for the clues
Hello all, How are things in Babbleland today?
it se 4/5s pretty quiet in here atm, i just got here though
Ah, I was here in & out earlier but I got stuck so I ended up getting a lot of paper work out of the way.
i find it seems to come easier when you take little breaks
I guess so, but I still have 89 left and I should be off to bed soon.
what time is it where you are?
Just after 11 PM, not that late but Tuesday is my earliest morning and my longest day so I try to get to bed earlier than other days on Monday.
well, we must all be responsible once in a while... hope you stick around for a few more
I'll be here for a bit, but not too long.
Do you know the stats on the 8 (is there anyone here or just us 2?)
the 8 is wo 8/70 zooz was here a minute ago, i'm sure there are other lurkerz too shy to chat
Oh, Is it a compound word or one long one?
haH!!! Got it, thanks Trader!!
compound word
yw, it was clued for me, so just passed it along
I just looked at the wo's I had and it kind of fell into place. That doesn't often happen.
welldone! i love it when a word just pops out of the grid
slow going now though...
i just got down to 89 now, do you list?
Hello again. I'm taking a break for a bit, so back in Babbleland! :-)
Hi Nef, how is it going?
hi nef, how's it going today?
It's going slowly here. How about you? (I'm getting my kitchen back together after a makeover)
I used to list but I put such a strong filter on my computer to keep my teens out of there that I find a lot of things I want to look at are blocked. The price I have to pay.
Enjoy the new kitchen, Nef. That has recently become a dream of mine, but I think the bathroom is more urgent.
And it's snowing again. They predict 10 inches by tomorrow evening; but we only haveabout an inch more of that so far.
Wow, where are you?
Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN (as some people say: "Fly over land"
booo, snow! ready for spring here - it is teasing us now - earlier wrm spell started the crocuses, daffodils and tulips - snowdrops are up and in full bloom :))
DH wants to move; I don't. Either way, the kitchen was really becoming an irritation with peeling paint and sticky cabinet doors that wouldn't not stick (or else they wouldn't shut)
We had a beautiful day on Saturday, I even got a tan, but it is cold now. I love the winter but my calander is telling spring should be coming.,
Kate, is this big storm supposed to miss you?
yes, nef - no precipitaion predicted here until sunday - light showers/flakes... supposed to be above freezing for daily highs for the next 2 weeks!
we do get a heckuva lot of wind here though - there should be wind farms everywhere! back in a minute or 2
wow! And here I thought you'd get a lake effect snow from this. (I'm much farther north of you than I thought!)
Stand back while I toss my towel in. <<<Thwack>>>
Good night! and good luck.
good night Mich! Sleep well!
Thanks, I guess I'll catch you tomorrow.
Thanks, I guess I'll catch you tomorrow.
good nite
I 'd like some help with my last 7 letter word; the ro7. People keep saying its a fisher; but it still doen't help. May I have another clue?
there is s bunch of snow tracking north of us - more like where crossy lives and points further north... but thinking i'd better check the weathernetwork when i get home...
what does a person who fishes use to catch his prey? then make it the males who handle said equipment
nef - what he uses to fish with
many males and many fishing sticks
Oh, MAN! Thanks, Kate! I kept trying from the other R!
and I thought it was the animal too!
no wonder you couldn't snag the clue
i still need 2 more 7's and am almost out of time -0 got a very late start today
maybe I should have some more coffee? That's the second time today that I've tried every combo possible from that R
it happens to all of us nef
there is an7/32, de 7/48, ro7/36
se 7/48,
Oh. and Ne 7/48. which do you want?
i have them all now nef - thanks - didn't pl the an 6
YAYA for you!
if you have the qu 5/16 (second one, i'd appreciate a hint - i seem to have broken my monkey again
er, that was Yay

I don't have any sw's yet but will now look
that was the one nef, thanks!

omg.only in this household.i went to use the computer after getting home a few minutes ago.we have those mouse pads with the gel filled wrist rests.the one i was using just sprang a leak and there is now brown sticky gooey gel all over the desk :(
yikes, what a mess, crossy
does it at least smell like bacon? ;-)
seriously- a bummer crossy.
it most certainly does not
2nd qu5/16 pls
nm
I am hungry, bbl
hi all
bacon gel?
lol- i think that went over with a resounding thud cos
I would not be surprised to see a bacon scented shampoo, a bacon scented hair gel one day soon
me either. ;-)
lol i have a friend everyone calls wolvie. i always have to remind myself you're not him
Hi Cos
hi kap
really? too funny. mine is short for wolverine- not the movie, but the team, lol
ahh makes sense! mich right?
yep. :-) the other alternative being tossed around at the time was wolvalicious. i chose wolvie, lol
lol.. yeah wolvie works.. my ex went to ann arbor and was a huge wolverine fan.. made me crazy
I was listening to a report on how horsemeat is a delicacy in Khazakhstan, but cow's meat is considered gross
:-) i bet
Though as a vegetarian, that one is considered more gross to eat than the other is really beyond me.
Just sayin'
horse meat is actually quite palatable and a lean dietary choice
location location i guess, lol
MY thinking of the horsemeat thing?
People have been eating fast food for years and all of a sudden they fid out its horsemeat. well they liked it otherwise they wouldnt keep coming back
true enough
Just don't tell them what they're eating
soylent green!!! omg!! they are eating people!!!! crossy loves charlton heston;))
what's the difference between eating a horse and eating a cow?
lol- after pink slime, it is all over
I remember when people found out taco bell was using meat a grade level less than what they use in dog food..
Or a pig or a goat or a cat?
theydidnt stop going.
different dipping suaces are required i think, kaplan
or a duck or a squirrel or a hamster?
i knew there was a reason i don't go to fast food places
And ducks are not like cows.
I went to mcdonalds the other day because i like their fries and i wanted a shamrock shake :P
indeed, ever try to milk a duck??
slow food. Cow. fast food- horse.
How many words are there today?
oooookkkkaaay, lol. back to the grid
more than 210 less than 212
211
But in Khazakhstan, if there are traces of cow meat people get upset
what grid? Is there a grid?
so 101 more than I've got right now! Thanks
if i am ever in Khazakhstan i shall remember that
lol :) np jax
ah found that da4 da6 combo.. i say it all the time yet i couldnt find it
that's the last one I found. I was in distress.
groan

oh I monkeyed it.
thanks!
yw- taking a break- bb later- have a good one
anyone in favor of acupuncture for pain?
vs. opium, I guess?
Are there dangers in overuse of Ben-gay?
Wolvie, I always love the oclor of your icon
me too. but really.
I love the smell of ben gay and icy hot. im weird.
me too. But the label says not to use it more than 4 times a day. Why not? What could happen?
no acupunture for me. no needles!
It's my signature scent.
you age rapidly and end up in a home? :P
I AM home.
I thought home is a good thing.
then nothing.. lol
I think I love it because my very first partner would use it all the time and I guess I associate the scent to my first love
Kinky.
Maybe the ingredients irritate the skin
How about Tiger Balm
possibly yeah good point
fishy grid.
i need some protein.
Cos, I misread your post @ 4.36. I thought you said you love the smell of being gay and icy hot!! Lol. Hi everybody. Kap! Long time no see!
lol nice
Tiger balm is great.
Don't like the odor, but it works great. But, like Ben-gay, I think it can irritate your skin
Hiya Molly. :-)
Anything heavily scented and used to excess will irritate your skin and possibly your breathing.
How many people completed yesterday's grid?
i did - took one look and said, "i'm done!"
not me, but I just finished this one.
But what if my skin says it's OK
I don't know. You could go to the archive page and count I guess.
wakbed
walned
I'm too lazy to do that....
Yay Bich. Well done
wined
Ohm crumbs- I'm sorry
You can do that?
Save me. I
I am being drugged into a conversation about Batman and the movies
Resist. Use the force, Luke.
All because I said I watched the latest batman movie last night
Is that like being dragged and given drugs at the same time? : P
basically!
I am having a hypoglycemic attack. Could it be because I only had pretzels for lunch?
Sudden shakes and sweats.
Need some juice and cheese and nuts- quick.
brb grabbing corn nuts from the kitchen
I love corn nut

Pretending to be composed and sane.
If they only knew.
I guess that was a drive-by from Soodle. : D
hi folks
Hi Peri
Evening all. Forgot I still had a few words left to find.
Hi Bea
daylight savings time is very early this year. 3/10
This weekend?
A couple of years ago they bumped the beginning back two weeks and the end ahead two weeks, to lengthen it.
yep
I love the longer days
Guess I better start going to bed early to get ready for it.
The more daylight the better. It works well for my circadian rhythms.
Yes, I like more daylight too.
I like the glow of lights coming from windows at dusk... but its only seen in fall/winter. i will miss that
17 left, bs
I hate it when Hubs comes in and talks to me.
Um, Cos, we have dusk all year long. Just at different times of day. : D
lol yeah but it isnt the same
oh molly i got a hardcover copy of a stephen king book today for a quarter at the library
Nice, which one?
Misery,.. havent read it yet so grabbed it
Ah, one of my favorites.
Was going to get Salems Lot but forgot. Will go back tomorrow and get that as well.
si6, my last word. any clues
You get a lot more details about the dark mind of Annie Wilkes in the book.
Have you read his 11/23/64?
Not yet. Want to. And getting into Annie's mind would be interesting. I 'll finish my Palin book another time and start Misery tonight.
MIL is reading 11/23 right now. will give me when shes done (prob a year lol)
nm
si6...starts like word for ape + ends with popcorn ker***
thanks molly!
Already found it. FW! But thanks, Molly
I do not usually read King, but my daughter told me I had to read that one.
I listened to 11/23/64 on tape. Interesting story. Not what I was expecting though.
Was glad I did.
Isnt it like a butterfly effect kind of thing?
Kind of. Time travel.
It explores that possibility Cos.
sometimes i dont know where King gets his ideas.. some of them are great and some of them are like what????
I wonder that about a lot of authors.
He says his most frequently asked question is "where do you get your ideas?"
I'm ready Koontz's Odd Hours. Another one of those "How did you come up with that?"
The easiest one to figure out is Misery. How many times do you think the man heard "I'm your number one fan" before he wrote that?
cant wait for doctor dream
I think it'll be released in August?
Time to bzz...pfft!
i am so excited a stranger in the UK is sending me $1.5 million ;-)
Best Stephen King quote ever...
“The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them -- words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That's the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a tellar but for want of an understanding ear.†― Stephen King, Different Seasons
nice quote molls
bye bzzn
hi all
here for a few words
and the pb
thanks for sharing molly.... i like when i read things like that
I think most people can relate to that because there are not a lot of understanding ears around anymore.
right. its a shame
Ready for snow tomorrow night JMC? I'm not. Blech.
nope i refuse to let it snow tomorrow night
it just hit us a hour ago
unfortunately i think the night after i will have to give in
Maybe I heard the wrong forecast then. I heard it was supposed to start Tuesday into Wednesday.
Chicago and Iowa Tuesday I thought?
i keep seeing it coming on wednesday but then what do they know? they have been wrong with every dire prediction for this area this year
I know Chicago's getting ready for it tomorrow. I have tons of Chi town folks on FB and its all they talk about today lol
I would think Chicago people would be used to snow. Here, it's like the end of the world when we get a snow storm.
only when the snow is more than 3 inches. . .
Yeah, well they are predicting 6-9 inches from this one and a foot in Frederick.
I remember when I lived in DC and it snowed less than an inch. No accumulation and everyone freaked out. I was like ummm ok!
yes and they have predicted that 3 times this year. . . so far batting 0
but i think they may be right this time. . .
The weather guy here has been VERY accurate when it comes to snow..
Topper is still saying wet snow by dawn on Wednesday.
hi folks
most years they are close but this year they have not gotten once
hi welki. . .snowed in?
it may be a challenge to fly in on tuesday
Hi welki!
nope - was a bit of a grunt this morning, but it's not bad now
nah, no snow until wednesday
but it has been windy as all get outs. . .
Well, my Irish third eye told me to get my grocery shopping done today, so I'm ready whenever.
whatever. . .the only thing that would keep me from coming up to nj on Friday is if it is still snowing then. . .i try to avoid driving in falling snow. . .
it'll be fine - winds will die down, snow will wait and then melt on thursday :)
white stuff has been coming down hard for two hours but it isnt snow ... i cant remember what its called.. starts with a G I think?
Globs?
yes i just looked and it looks like it will be clear skies for me driving
sleet? hail? freezing rain?
goobers
i like goober peas :)
is it hitting the ground or evaporating before it does? (then, it's virga)
i like pie.
no.. its soft.. like um.. styoform or however you spell it
but it melts instantly after you touch it.. theres a weather term for it...
The puzzle today is very palindromic!
goober pea pie??? not even washington carver ma** that
hi godth and dc

wd starry
Well Nurse Jill, were they well behaved recovery room patients, or whiny babies?
ahhhh, now i know what you're talking about, cos! thanks for the new word!

Oh some tv info for these who are interested. the teen hit show on ABC Fam "Switched at birth" will be the first prime time tv show to have an episode that will be entirely done in ASL tonight.
It seems like that should have happened way before now.
Yeah. I dont have cable but just found out they show first run episodes the day after on their website. Problem solved.
I wonder how may people pay per view instead of just doing that?
Yeah its all confusing to me. Why is it online free if you have to pay to watch it on tv?
Well, technically on line isn't free as you pay for your internet service. Well, most people do.
true true
when we moved in we had random free internet.. we still do lol..
When wireless internet first became available, people were not password protecting it and you could hijack it from just about anywhere.
right and now its all protected. which makes me wonder whose Im using. a poor little old lady? would make me feel bad :P
Could be the apartment complex wireless. A lot of businesses don't password protect.
They sometimes turn it off during the day time so im sure its some apartment around here. it also says Netgear
*Wonders what little old ladies do on the internet*
my old neighbor used to play canasta online so maybe?
My 93 year old mother reseaches new diseases to come up...

Im not allowed on webmd :(
gah! finally found that mi5
Ahaha...Cos, banned from WebMD
well banned as in.. ryan says no. :P
And I'm sure there is a reason for that. : P
Wow - I didn't even realise Australia's CSIRO has the world-wide patent on WiFi.
I always look up my symptoms and then freak out.. Ryan I need a new kidney! Ryan my appendix is about to blow!
Ahahaha...Felix Unger on the internet.
Twice I thought I was going to die. He got so annoyed and said ok it's not allowed. lol
Cos...just do en6/12 and you'll be fine...LOL ;)
lol I'll pass.
Jill works for Dr. Colon O'Cleanse.
brb gotta start dinner
We don't see it too much anymore...en6 "till clear" or what we used to call the 3H enema, high, hot and a helluva lot...LOL
And with that, must head out for food, already past 1/2 done...bbs
Enjoy your almond Jill. : P
3 H enema? what the hell have I walked into
is that anything like a 4H enema?
Not sure but it sounds very Nurse Ratchedy to me.
Hi again. It looks like Jilly is teaching Nursing secrets! ;-)
sure sounds unhealthy to me
Lets not even get into how long it takes for it to "run clear"
3 H en 5/12= high, hot, helluva lot. Not done anymore; but I remember there were times we wanted to do them to a few nasty pts.
well, now they give you that "lovely" gallon of "Go Litely" instead and you DO run clear after that.
(you have to drink most of that gallon the night before a procedure; it keeps you running most of the night)
The large intestine is five feet long. Enough said.
ok lets finish this grid.
Hi Cos. We are having Metamucil cocktails. : D
No ensure?
Im ejoying a glass of ensure with a bowl of corn flakes and a side of activa yogurt!
prune pie for dessert.
sorry, not me. Ilike prunes instead! ;-) They taste much better than stuff in a glass
strange dinner, cos. Are you eating alone?
I dont mind dried prunes.
Y'all can keep the prunes.
lol nah wasnt serious Nef. Chicken for dinner tonight.
Have you ever tried fruit soup, Molly? It's yummy
that's a relief to hear, cos. :-)
Nope, never had fruit soup.
fruit soup http://alturl.com/qg8dk
this sounds delicious
we had some white chili for supper tonight with some wheat berries. It wasn't very white, but I'm still tasting it--and the burn.
white chili?
I just read a restaurant review that said some of the food is so hot that even your beverage won't cool you down. What is the point? How do people enjoy food that hot?
made with chicken and (usually) white beans, etc. the sauce is usually white too; but this didn't thicken, so it was kind of watery
Ryan does. I don't. How can you taste if you no longer have taste buds?
That fruit soup isn't anything like I was thinking of (but it does look delicious)
I made golden lentil soup last night that came out nicely
I made golden lentil soup last night that came out nicely
so nice you had to say it twice!
Ooo, where did you get the glittery golden lentils?
ro7 please?
I'm not a fan of really hot spices either. DH used to like it, but now he can't tolerate it anymore (and I'm glad of that!)
Guys with fishing poles.
what a guy who goes fishing carries + a group of adult guys, cos
ah tyvm!
here's the fruit soup I was thinking about: http://tinyurl.com/cgquuto
thanks!
So do we eat this because we like it, or because we need to "move the mail"?
the first didnt have prunes so prob to like it.. 2nd one does have prunes but looks good nonetheless
at the store.. the really cooked quickly though.. not like regular lentils
both, if you want, Molly. It's delicious (just don't go back for seconds on the same day!)
se7 please
It's such a high fiber conversation tonight : )
Green stuff that floats in the ocean.
where's wilfred brimley when you really need him
I've never heard of golden lentil, ruru; I'll have to look for it.
thanks idk why im not seeing the 7s
ah well that was the last 7.
Wilfred is probably off getting his colon cleansed.
3 all end the same, cos; with the adult boys
Wilfred? Thats the name of my oversized panda bear
LOL.. yep.. with 3H stuff
anyone have the an 6/21?
Iron poor blood disease
200 down.
thank you
Oh, speaking of colons, there is a "Hydrocolon Therapy" place within a mile of us. Everytime I drive by there I wonder about both the people who work there and the clients!
this grid could use an enema
this grid could use an enema
Some people overdo that stuff Nef.
PB for Ru
is that the place where you can only enter by the rear door Nef?
and you have to back into your parking spaces there?
Hmm, I would think the back door would be marked EXIT ONLY
fireworks
Molly; I can't understand why anyone would work there OR wish to visit such a place! My DIL says that "It gets all the stuff out that's clogging up your intestines" but I'm sure Jilly will agree with me that your guts aren't like old plumbing: things don't stick in there like that
YAY, Cos! WTG!!!
well done cos
The way they market that stuff leads people to believe that things do take up residence in your intestines and need to be "flushed".
"Bring me some prune juice too. I want to enjoy the lox but I don't want it to set up shop in there" - Sophia Petrillo
I remember being told that if you swallow gum it sticks in there; but that's not true either
When I was in 3rd grade in my end of school year picnic I swallowed a watermelon seed. I bawled my eyes out. I was terrified.
Cos, I don't know why that is making me laugh so hard, but it is. : D
LOL! And at that age I believed that pregnant women swallowed watermelon seeds and that's why they got "fat"
My teacher had to comfort me and explain I would not grow a watermelon in my stomach
lol nef!
Alas, that did not cure the overactive imagination. *See WebMD conversation earlier*
Yeah. I suppose I've always had a problem in that area. :P
That's okay, cos. As long as you know it.
It's a blessing if you are a writer.
BRB
Back. Are you a writer, cos?
mi 5/14?
don't have it yet, ruru but I'm looking
Hello again babbleworld...hi nef and ruru, and hello again molly
oh AND cos!!
mi5...Avoid the first note in the scale?
hi Jilly!
To behave improperly.
thank you
a word I should absolutely know :D
So glad I didn't have to point that out to you ruru...;)
dont mi5 or get an en5!
LOL....here comes da nurse...
En5s as punishment is kind of creepy. : O
Or stinky....
wouldn't you have a colon on that comment jilly instead of three dots
Didnt Momma give Owen en6 as punishment in Dont throw momma from the train?
never saw that movie
LOL...oh rury
Ooo, Anne Ramsey. Creepy Momma. Owen! Get me a coke! And don't put any ice in it this time, you're trying to kill me!
*ruru
Anne Ramsey was amazing.
Jilly: watch it. its funny!
Don't you "In a minute, Momma" me! Get off your fat little ass or I'll break it for you! I want two soft boiled eggs, white toast, and some of that grape jelly god damn it! And don't burn the toast!
I love that movie. Remember Cos, a writer writes...always!
The night was sultry.
I should look for it tomorrow.
His guts oozed like a melted malted!
Anything with Billy Crystal is a home run for me. Add Danny DeVito and Anne Ramsey and it's a hit!
Ewwww!
Ive only seen Anne in 2 movies. Any others she's in?
Goonies
thats the other one Ive seen :)
She had a small part in Scrooged. That is the only other movie I've seen her in.
I loved The Goonies
lol yes. the homeless lady who thinks bill murray is richard burton lol
"do it for eva. do it for eva"
Ah and she was in an episode of ALF. She played a redneck who wanted to turn ALF into the government lol
The Goonies is one of those movies my kids watched eleventy billion times.
They cut out the octopus scene. they should have cut out the line about the octopus at the film's ending
Our kids must be about the same age molly
I watched it with my brother once a week when we were kids :)
That was back when Sean Astin was just a baby.
*thinks she must be old enough to be cos' mom*
<--old enough to be Cos' Dad for sure
Oh you are. I know I am.
i think im seans age
lemme check
nope im 8 yrs younger lol
My boys are 30 and 26
I thought he was older than you.
im 3 years older than your eldest
*still qualifies*
Yeah. I think its Jonanthan Taylor Thomas Im thinking of thats my age :P
You're my son's age cos.
(we waited til Iwas past 30 to have kids)
I love Danny Davito. he makes me laugh just by walking across the screen.
Yeah my Mom was 28 when she had me. She wanted to wait too. I'm the oldest.
the move you were talking about? Throw Mama from the Train?
ok is danny and rhea back together?
Devito, even
Yes, Cos stuck a "Don't" in front of it.
ok, I never saw the entire movie, just parts. it is worth it to watch the whole thing?
peri: yes! watch it from start to finish
when my mom had me the doctor slapped my mom instead of me
Yes Peri, totally.
Anne Ramsey deserved her oscar nomination.
ok, I will look for it in the library
LOL, rurur. He made a mistake! ;-)
Just checked the Oscars for that year. Anne was robbed. Olympia won for Moonstruck. She wasnt that good.
just stopped by to say hi, cu all later
Why am I still looking for words?
Because I haven't finished, cos?
lol...too true..
bye peri
lol fair enough :)

no, welki. We've had him pretty much for the past 2 weeks (his Mom was in psych. hospital again); so we've had a break this weekend. We redid our kitchen and I'm trying to sort through, clean, and put stuff away.
You need to post pix nef, would love to see your kitchen!!
ohhhhh, good work, but stressfu (what do you keep? what to throw away?)
The kitchen cabinets were refaced and new counter tops put in last week. It went fast but is beautiful; I don't want to put any old junk in it now. :-)
JIlly, if I ever figure out how to do that, I'll post them on FB (before and after pics)
Help with last two si5,6 please
And now I want new lighting, and a new back splash!
sorry, Luv, I don't have any si words yet.

Hi (Jilly)
you were feeling poorly last time i saw you, mimi - better now?
Thanks, welki. Yes, physically better. But today was one of those days that starts out bad and gets worse. Glad it's over and it's martini time!
shaken, not stirred :)
oh? what happened (if you want to vent)
Nah---none of that--just poor over ice and hope it's cold before I drink!
Nef, found out my ex screwed me over AGAIN on taxes from 1998....my Dodger cat had another seizure...money troubles....that's enough, though there's more.
On the better side, I built a bookcase I've had for 1.5 years and rearranged my living room and I'm loving it. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away...
(((Mimi))) Sending good vibes your way now!
Thanks, dear. I can always rely on my Babble friends to be supportive. I love this community. I've adopted Sprite as my daughter!
Jilly...are you still here?
Martinis kicking in....starting to see all kinds of non-words. Later, everyone. Hugs all around.
