I DO have something contagious, in fact, caught this devilish cough from my middle child! Yuck . And I have to attend a birthday breakfast in a bit, cancelled out last time and cannot do that again. I'll have to sit at an Isolation table!
Thanks so much, rose.
Sorry, Marmar. Hope you get rid of that cough soon.

Hi all - Glad to read you had an easy day Rose :)

Hey there, Lizlin.
Hi - life's fine here. I love the Aussie climate - haven't been sick since I arrived here over 4 years ago! Mind you, not being near kids probably helps!
Chest colds and brochial junk has been rampant around here all winter. Much worse than normal! And we are still below freezing here in central Gerrmany, it's unreal!
lol, liz!!!!
Hope you feel better soon Marmar :)
Thanks all.
BBL :)
poor marmar. *sending a jar of vics via cyber space*
Oh Liz, a photographer I am following on 500px is traveling through Australia and posting the most gorgeous Images I've ever seen. Unreal Beauty at every stop! So jealous!!!
Ah, thanks grannyrose! I love the smell of vics!

*giggles*
I've been staring at that forever
that he7 must be to do with that saying "when he** freezes over"
I call this babble brain... where you can see the odd nonwords like el4/5, but not the obvious ones like el4/4
lol yes. Did you ever read that brilliant piece of text about that?
love the phrase, kje, can I adopt it?
?
hello everyone :)
of course, sprite
hi annie
hi Annie
hi lynxxx and kje and sprite
brilliant text about hell freezing over?

caving to the list with 12 to go... no patience for this today I guess
bye sprite :(
Bye Sprite
smores, omit the L re: your footwear
lynxxx, still wanting to get something to Lickety w/o using paypal, any ideas?
TY Annie - I had the croutons - was just trying for more but failed
Can only suggest you get a friend or relative to do the Paypal for you Annie. Sending him any sort of check will cost a heap in Bank Charges at his end.
Annie, you can wire money via Money Gram or Western Union, but you would have to get information from Lickety for that (where to send it)
I will "talk to Mom"
good idea Annie
he6/24?
nearly typed it in here!
Starts like the he5/12 before. Ends with quiet sound + vowel
he & vwl & they call camels ***ps of the desert
hi Bzzn
Morning, all
morning, bea
Good night everyone
Night, lyn
sweet dreams, lynxxx
Time for me to bzz...PFFT!
ty!
sorry, got distracted by a phone call
hi folks
I'm off to work... hagd all
hi bichon, bye kje
hint for the he 7/36, pls
it's the plural of the shape of DNA, double -----
ty hurshy and hi
hi :)
cold this morning hurshy
yes
but this may be the coldest day for a long time, according to the forecast - the last high lower than 50
I saw that there was a sexual assault in NH, a woman walking to the train station
at 4:40 AM
bad time to walk alone in that part of town - or most places
I would never walk there at that time of day. Always drive to daughter in West Haven and have her drop me off
yeah i mean, of course the yale people, they want you to call for an escort, but this wasn't a yale person, so i don't know if they have anyone to call.
if you have little money, and no family, it's probably harder, i guess.
all true hurshy
i worry about my friend who works an early shift (opens the place) sometimes at starbucks downtown.
I remember, decades ago, when I lived in NYC and I had to go to visit my child welfare clients in their homes. I don't know how I did it.
yeah my sister had to go some scary places as a social worker out in a rural part of missouri, years ago
Good morning, all!
hi Judi
So wait, I'm confused. The escort service is only for Yale people?
well it's the yale security or yale police that provides it
so... i think so
think of the people who live there day in and day out bichon:((
Yes, they have that at Wesleyan too. Public Safety will excort students places
are there any EX words?
The problem is that the New Haven train station is in a bad part of town. The parking pacility gets filled up and you have to park in an outer lot and walk from there :((
yes hurshy
*facility
yeah it's better to get dropped off, either family, friend, or cab.
bbl
i might need help with ex words...
i guess only one ex word...
There's only one, hurshy, but it's a doozy
but it's not excise or extol
clue please? :)
Ex + UK neighbor.
EX + Christ had several dis*****s
thank you!
YW hurshy
let's see, that leaves... 2 C, 2 P, 4 H, 7 S
had to use morewords, never heard of that uk neighbour
Should have said one who wears a kilt.
fireworks
yaaa for annie!
any clues wanted before I leave?
That's a clue for the es5/6, tho.
Isn't a sc4 a UK neighbor?
Yes.
But it has nothing to do with the ex7 word...
yes erda's clue is the one that worked for ex
yes,but ciple is not,but as i say, whatever gets us to the finish line
bye
so let's see, the 7's are ex, he, is, and... ?
There's an si7, hurshy
si
ho7
ooh thanks, mary, got the ho
thanks erda and winding too, looking ...
Thanks to you too, I only had the si and ex so far =)
it must not be too weird then ?
it's... not a word I know, but its letters are very monkey-able.
not having any luck... may i have a clue?
Of all the EX words they could've chosen, they went for "a rim around the hymenium of various lichens." I ask you...
lol erda, you know nobody's CHOOSING the words!
Same ending as a skinny dog
weimaraner?
greyhound?
borzoi?
chihuahua?
oooh i know!
Like a greyhound, heh.
thanks i got it
who knew there were so many skinny dogs
I am soooo confused.
I am soooo confused.
Like a miniature greyhound.
I am just not a dog person, that doesn't help me much, or...at all.
Oops, I mean he4! Off to the PB, maybe there is wiseom hiding there.
don't guzzle your drink down, just gently si_____
Ahhh
(this is not a word, it is a play on words)
Lol, even better than what I was writing, hursh =)
i mean it's a word, but i don't know what the word means, so i used that instead
Like the Devo song ... "whip** good. Different ending.
Got it. Even recognized the doggy
Thank you
My phantom today is shlep. Who has Yiddish phantoms??
hello all
Hi TO
hi mich
Fireworks!
Way to go Judi. I am still far away and people expect me to stop babbling and make supper. Hmphh.
How presumptuous of them, Mich.
Exzactly!
Toss them some olives. That will hold them over.
Would be a good idea except my DH hates olives- and we live among olive trees!
Dates. Toss them dates!
I'll try it, but somehow I think they are expecting chicken. Maybe chicken flavored dates?
There you go.
I'm off to do real work (how boring). See you kids tomorrow! *POOF*
Bye Judi, have a good day
Does anyone have the "e" from the right column that could clue it for me?
el 4 X 2
Thanks ruru
Judi left before we could to4 her in the PB : D
(Backtracking to find words from the grid in Judi's posts)
BBL, I am off to make supper for some people who don't think dates or olives are supper!
dates and olives would suit me fine!
it isn't raining! yay
So, Ruby, YOU are invited
do you ever stuff dates with cream cheese?
Byyee - - be back later!1
bye mich
hello molly

Hi, I'm back for now. Chicken & potatoes are in the oven - good smells, I still have to make a soup for my veggie daughter but she is coming home later.
Hi all just finished and opened the chat. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this nice little grid.
Met with silence. Everyone must have their noses to the grid. See you all tomorrow.
Sorry, I was on the phone with my older daughter. Are you still here, gramma?
Can someone help me with the he 5,6,7 from the right column, do they build from each other?
just got off phone with #3 daughter....... she has the flu ... says she is a little better today and no longer wants to just die to get away from it............
Oy, sounds awful. I am glad she has regained her will to live. How old is she?
so i sang her "soft kitty" and told her that we love her and to stay the hell away from us for a few more days
she is in her 40's mich
Ohh, I miss my mom. She is gone from us just 13 months, and I had no one to call when I had the flu this winter. Just my sisters, which is nice but not a Mommy.
I am 52 and not the baby.
i understand mich
Mich...I'm not using a list yet...but I have he5/12 x 2 and he6/21 that was pl of the second of my he5/12. Not sure where a 7 fits into this???
Speaking of.... My little sister is on the phone from the US
Here is a song from Mom, we love you, stay the hell away from us...that is hysterical SMom : D
morning all!
lol molly... hubby is 86 and copd and emphysema and is on o2 so we are very protective of him ... she would never come here when she even thinks she may have been exposed to anything tho,,,,,,
some folks think we are nuts.. we ask people to wash their hands when they come and not to come when they are sick and we wash common areas and utensils with a solution of vinegar and water ( like the phone.. doorknobs.. etc) and if they don't like it.. oh well...............
Oh well indeed. You have to do the best you can to keep germs away from Mr. SMom.
good for you, sammysmom!
yup. and if that is being bitchy ( as i have been accused ) thats ok,,,,,,,, i'll BE the bithc..lol
it's not being bitchy if you're protecting someone's health, seems to me!
we have been married 56 years and it took me 40 years to grow him up so i do tend to be protective of my trophy..lol
wow, good for you!! that is great that you have been together so long.
hi folks, good afternoon. Back with 19 ;eft
hi bichon!
hey bichon
what's new and exciting in Babbleville?
me i is new and exciting! *bounce bounce bounce*
I can't find any words from the bottom e, but that is probably neither new nor exciting
hi jmc! You are indeed new and exciting!
well, my maple trees have big fat red buds on them and that makes me feel good..... hows's thinks with you?
did you get the ex 7?
nope
the forsythias are make the right moves
I did, however, check to make sure that excite wasn't in the grid...
love it when spring bursts forth
no, it's a weirdo word, want a clue?
sure!
Oh God SMom, 40 years to grow him up? I don't have that kind of patience. Good for you!
the construction killed all of my forsynthias :-(
ex + Mark, John, Luke were dis*****s of Jesus
bummer, jmc
thanks, bichon! nbs and nbt!
my sister thinks she can root me some from hers this spring. . .
rooting forsythias is not hard
yw sue
i am also going to try to get another cutting from the laurel bush from the house were my hubby spent his childhood. . .
they killed that too. . . .*sigh*
that I've never done
that one i started from a cutting 28 years ago so i think it is doable. . .
I've tried to root an Exbury Azaelea before with no luck
there is rooting material which he**s. . but i have never used it
Rootenone? I've tried it, but it didn't work on the Azelea. With the forsythia, all you have to do is push down a branch and let it root
okay what word am i trying to spell. . .a flat circle and elipse?
ugh, Frank needs extra fluids and magnesium today, we will be here for a while (at the cancer center for what was supposed to be a short treatment)
oh too bad. . .
That's a bummer sue
perhaps he will be cheered to know that chocolate is relatively high in magnesium so in the future he can self medicate!
Can it be sweetened chocolate?
the sugar wouldn't take away the magnesium. . . .:-)
nuts and whole grains are relatively high in it too
<---fount of obscure food knowledge
fw for me. Anyone need a clue?
dark chocolate is very good for you
whoo hooo bich!
I will mention the chocolate to him :-)
and yay bichon!
the stats for the two i tiles would be nice
congrats bichon
hagd folks and be strong Frank
bye bich
top row I - IS 6/21 and 7/32
ty wv
3rd row I - IC 4/5 and IS 4/4
ty ty
duh! the 3rd row was a fish for sure
ugh they are finishing up the construction next door by making a tarmac parking area and the heavy machinery is driving me crazy. . .
how can there POSSIBLY be 25 words from that lower s?????
who knows, i only havenine!
well, you are one ahead of me, then!
Now two!! olol
do you have sp6/24 - when putting 2 wires together you need to sp6
or how about si6 and 7 - si + i like salt and pe**er on my food + ** phone home and plural
looking ....
thanks for all of those, river! I didn't have any of them.
yw - I still need 4 of those s's
good day to you all, hope you are all doing well. how's the grid today?
not too bad but I have now hit the wall with 24 to go
oh boy... if you have hit a wall, i'm doomed ;) will probably have to list with 100 to go, lol i got fooled by yesterday's small puzzle and almost didn't finish... madly begging for clues at the last minute!
I dont list anymore - just get what I can get and call it a day
with the smaller grids we have had lately, i've been trying to go listless, just to make it last longer - sometimes i greatly misjudge how long it will take..
16 left - back to work for me - have fun
bye river
i'm not seeing the top row i - is 6/21 and is 7/32 any bit of a clue/definition please?
just found that. is + vowel + opposite of heaven (spelled wrong)
thank you gwen, when i find it i will have nbt and nbs :)
excellent!
woooot! thanks again gwen :)
hooray!!
how are you coming along with the puzzle today?
who, me? 31 to go, and i might quit soon and have a nap
but i monkeyed an si6/7 combo, so i'm pleased with myself 8-)
it's that kind of a day, very tired myself. too many gray skies for my liking. this is the winter that just won't quit!
that's some monkey you've got there gwen. make sure to give him/her a special treat for the effort :)
hmm, we got bright shiny blue sky, but i'm still feeling listless (no pun intended)
Howdy Gwen and Kate! Still missing 2 7's. Do either of you have them all?
lol, good one! a nap cures almost everything... i think i will take 5 and make a warm bevvie, brb hiya judy! looooong time no see!hope you are well. i only have 3/5 of the 7's
nope, only have two 7s so far
and ciao ciocia
ex7, he7, is7, ho7 and si7
{{Kate}} we missed you!
keep looking for the last three words from column two, and finding everything but
Gwen, I'm exhausted anymore doing FarmVille. They keep adding more and more stuff
oooo TY Molly
ty molly, found the ex7 already 8-)
Hello all...
the secret of farmville is to ignore most of the new stuff, pick something you like and just do that. i like chickens, dinosaurs, and making recipes, to name a few
hi jill and molly :) {{{(((judy))}}} miss you guys too, just no time to get dragged back into facebook atm.
brb gotta do some work LOL
and i promise i will not fill up the chog with farmville chat (!)
they have dinosaurs now???? i may have to make my return ;)
oh, yes, a whole slew of dinowaurs, and a whole slew of unicorns, too
<----gave up FB games years ago....too much of a time consumer
jilly, you are smarter than i am LOL
LOL...or maybe it's just that I'm slower at Babble and need the time...
Wow...grid great for me today...words just tumbling at me..nbt/nbs...Maybe I will have time for Farmville ;-)
i stopped FV for 3 months and it feld good to take a break, but then i relapsed LOL
Relapsed is a good word. It must be very addictive. I know of a relationship that ended over his addiction to Farmville.
well it's designed to be addictive, IMO
Everything in life is about priorities....
and on that note, my priority is a nap. later, buds
See you later Gwen!
nighty night Gwen
finished the 7's w/Molly's help :)
well done judy. got a coffee, so now will read back in the chog and seek out my missing 7's as well :-)
are the ho 7 and he 7 "normal words"?
ho is; not so much with the he
he is a plural
Don't have them yet....let me look
but there is no he6 to go with the he7
Hi Jilly
hmmm, perhaps i will leave them for now and go fishing instead ;)
ho7 is very twisty
answer TK...no they are not "normal"
I think ho7 is a commonly known word
thanks guys, the neighbours here at the internet cafe are doing something with fiberglass, nasty heady odour... that's my excuse for not seeing the words ;) can you give me the stats for the ho7 and he 7 please?
he 7/36 and ho 7/40
got the ho, thanks! think palliative care maybe?
LOL...found the ho7 very quickly...I used to work as a ho7/40 nurse
But you don't think that is a normal word?
just monkeyed the he 7! wooot!
I do stand corrected...had just finished the he's
okay, stopping for lunch...bbl today for the last 55
Yay TK!!
the plural of mice is mices... so if the greek sun god got little pests in his hair it might be the he 7/36 ;)
thanks jill, see you later/friday
he7 is a plural for a DNA strand
it is too! are you finished molly?
And mice is the plural of mouse. There is no plural for mice.
swoosh and swish do NOT exist in the grid... so stop trying to enter them kate....
It's ok, they exist in my reality too
lol, i do know that molly, mice is the plural did you know the plural of moose is meece? lololol
hi michnick, how's the grid treating you today?
Not bad, but I still have 39 left and I really should go make a vegetable/lentil soup for my vegetarian daughter.
Does anyone have the lone "s" in the second column?
oh, stay and babble with us! is she not old enough to make her own soup?
i do, but i will have to figure out which word it is in the list...
She is but her best friend is getting engaged tomorrow night and she has been baking non-stop at her friend's house. She is going to come home starving after her dance class.
it may be so 4/4 --- the black stuff in chimneys
No, that is from the s in the top row, third column.
it could also be the s4/4 - drunks
busy girl, your daughter... nice of you to "be the mom" a little tlc is always good
She is busy, and I try so hard to let her have her fun, being the mom will come soon enough in her life.
Try so4/8 to plant
that's probably it judy it's definitely an so word
What is the second letter, an "O"?
yes Mich
Yay Judi, that was it!
:)
looking for bea's word now.... thanks bea!
d'oh! such a fish!!!!
hi everyone :)
exactly 50 left to find; gonna take 5, bbs
Sometimes the simplest words elude us!!
I just found two real fishies. D'uh Mich!!
ex 7 please? -- still don't see anything likely
Make that three (I am blushing)
ex+ Jesus's dis*****
hi nan :) ex 7/56

yw
Well, I am down to having 23 left, all ssss's and one T. I will return when the soup is bubbling. (I will babble while the soup will bubble)
he 6-7 combo, please?
Unfortunately, it's not a combo cyber
i have the he 7/36 (which is a pl), but there is no singular for it
oh - a clue for either or both then?
he6=h+Japanese g***** girl
7 - DNA strandS
he7=he+pl of childrens scalp bug
ty - had tried the singlular with no success
ty jilly
thanks for that one jill, didn't have it yet :)
have both now
also he 6/21 - greek sun god
yvw...I decided to eat lunch and babble...
:) what's for lunch?
Peanut butter on celery and strawberries
are we dieting?
sliding in next to mich... just found a couple of real fishy ones, body parts - one joints the other facial feature - rhyming pair
Not really, I do have to avoid simple carbs to maintain...
I eat 3 sm meals and 3 snacks/day usually...try to keep tummy satisfied so I don't 'munch'
well, you've got it covered pretty well, a bit of protein, a bit of fat, some fibre and tons of vitamin c
My friend let me know of a great smart phone app (free-Droid or iPhone) that really helps manage and healthily balance diet/exercise....it's called My Fitness Pal
alas, no fancy phone here. sounds good though - and free is always good :)
Yes...I hate counting calories..it has one downside-doesn't note 'good' sugar (fruit) from 'bad' sugar (white)
*!* ta da *!* - thanks for the help :)
that was fast nan! congratulations!
WooT WooT WooT cyber!!
I only had 47 left when I signed in today
any clues wanted before I leave?
i only have one o word so far, any hints for one please?
i have the greases..

Stuck on my last one...sp6/24
down to 27; work is interfering with my Babbling!
Same here, Ciocia.
lol, judy sp 6/24 to join two ropees together?
i started about ten mins ago ad have thirty one words is that aboutaverage or slow?
hi winding. just starting out?
i'd say that was very good david! keep going!!!
Hi TK--no, I've been flipping over to this tab all day. I'm down to 26, but it's pretty slow when I keep having to hide it behind work email to talk to people =)
..and it's all about challenging yourself ;-)
howdy david, there is no average, many words can often be had quickly in the early going but hours can pass for the last ten without aid
Yay...ty TK... FW!!
understandable thank you:)
Hello crossy1
everyone's playing hookey while at work today.. you're all naughty babblers - that's why we love you so ;) yvw jill, congratulations ..and hi {{{{crossy}}}} haven't seen you for a while...
we have people at the "flip" when the puzzle changes over that like a bit of a race though.that happens at 1 am EST
howdy jilly
howdy kate
*guiltily admits not working today*
I always babble at work, heh.
i am not working atm,and not in the least bit guilty:)
you're ingood company jill ;)
But about to change that...so heading out for now...
If I can't finish it by the end of the day (without neglecting basics here) I lose. Which is why I prefer the little ones, heh.
gonna list soon, down to 31 stats for the bottom e please and thank you?
There's es 5 and 6, an et 5, and an ex7 down there
i often find the small ones can take a lot of time very deceptive grids at times. i was hoping for a biggie today 250-350 words would have been nice
thank you winding, it's the et 5 that i'm missing.. hunting
et6/18, no et5
thx crayola! Got 2 words out of that
thanks for the sats crayola gonna take 5 and go after it with fresh eyes brb
Great. :) Just finished myself. Yay.
WOOHOO Crayola!
do, sorry, heh
ty!
fireworks crayola? wooooot!
ty TK!
I've taken your company tour, crayola! LOL
heh. Yah, I should probably not use a product name. :| I just love the sound of the word.
time to go back to work. good luck, all.
the first pi5/12 plz
got that pesky et 6/18, thanks Je suis une star française ;)
i have a pi 5/12, not listed yet though... pl of mexican currency
..but change the vowel
There's one before that--pi + hawaiian necklace
that's the only pi5/12 I have too but I'm still missing 3 p words
oooo thx ww
yw! I'm still missing 3 p's too, though, so there may be even more.
just listed, there are only 2 x pi 5/12
well thanks to you, I'm down to 2 LOL
there's a pi5/14 ww and plural
go, judy, GOOOOOOO!
4 x pi 5/14
still need 23 Kate!
I have two pi 5/14s and plurals... is the other set your last two? =)
just down to 2 p's
ooh, i'm missing one of the pi5s then, thanks TK.
hello again :)
Hi smores
hi smores, how goes yyour day?
Hey winding:)

wtg smores :)
I'm back, soup is on the fire - onions, garlic, celery, carrots, potato, kholrabi, spinach and lentils! Lucky daughter!! ;-)
sounds yummy Mich
I just hope it's finished before she gets home.
I gave in to the list. But finished my C's!
Some people like camping...some people like camping in the cold...me...I like hotel rooms by the beach : D
fireworks, thanks lickety!
WTG TK !!! woohoo :)
I'm with you Molly, but even more my DH. He always suggests vacations with us (the mom & dad) taking a hotel room and the kids camping nearby on the beach. The funny thing is that they would probably love it (and come to us to use the toilet and the shower)
i have 40 minutes to clue/hint before closing... and of course salivate over mich's soup ;)
Alll right Kate!!
Awww. (Michnick being humble)
no shame in using the list - it is merely a tool to accomplish our objective... trouncing the t's etc.
I know, I've just been trying to wean, heh.
The list, getting clues from chat, it's all the same. No shame in any of it if you need help.
nope...not at all winding :)
me too, with the small ones anyway. i cut it far too close yesterday though, and by thre time i grabbed up all the clues floating around got fw, there wasn't any time left to pay back the favour...
I still think finishing is a major accomplishment. I won't go to the list unless I'm more than halfway because I figure at that point it's just too much grunt work.
We originally were tent camping, but since it's still chilly we're staying in a small cabin
Finishing is a major accomplishment. No question about that.
Heh, in which case... anyone have a clue for the first ho?
most of us would be bald from tearing our hair out in frustration if lickety, more words etc. wasn't there for help.. and of course the thorobreds at the flip that can do these grids at lightening speed.. ;)
Jezebel maybe...not sure if she was the 1st winding
think of german home, or socks with an extra vowel, wake
ho 5/12 insert the seeing vowel into the rubber water delivery tube
Ah! ty everyone
:D...sorry, couldn't help it
rhymes with an "adult diaper" brand
lol
Hmm, interesting association, kate.
Heh. Now all I'm missing is a T and about 82 S's.
lol @ smores - very clever ;)
:)
et 6/18 minus the first vowel
i will to 4/4 a few more clues... lob them like hand grenades ;)
Thanks Kate, now I have 3 ss's left
lol, i found the T.
All st's
woohoo winding :L)
ssssss's coming up...
st 4/5 lively boys, there's work to be done!
i'll to 4/4 you another hint... let the snake lead the way
Whoooeeee and thanks to everyone & Lickety.
Can't remember the last time I finished two in a row!!
WooHoo Mich!!! wtg :)
Be back to clue. Have to check the soup.
excellent mich! congrats! winding - you need s words?
Thanks, TK, but I want to work for them for a while/ actually work on work. I'll get desperate closer to quitting time =)
completely understandable ;-) anyone else?
no thanks TK...
hmmm...can I take the back? :)
love the panda, man... toronto zoo just got a long term loan of a pair from china. arrived last week :)
last h and last 6....clue for he6/24 please

fireworks!
(I didn't actually do any more work-work.)
Way To Go Winding!!!! take a bow!!!
*bows*
WooHoo winding!!! WTG :)
:)
Great winding.
sometimes babble can seem like work-work, although still mostly pleasurable whilst tearing out hair :)
TY TK...15 left for after dinner....mostly S's
This whole grid is mostly ss's
good luck to you , most of the s words are more or less normal....
LOL true
look at all those snakes slithering through the grid.. just like a fish, if it were a snake it would have bit me!
Think eels
Bye all, thanks for the help TK...gotta go pack the van for tomorrow and start some dinner :)
Ha, g****a girls do a lot more than pour tea.
bye smores, enjoy the camping trip you crazy lady ;) <smirks with molly> - this is a family game...
pretty much last call here for me, closing time in 10 minutes. last minute clues ?
Me too, I turn into a pumpkin (or a squash) in 10 minutes. G'night all!!
bye mich, see you friday maybe?
I doubt it, Fridays are not great babbling days for me, I should be here tomorrow though.
See you tomorrow Mich
Bye all
see you monday then.. i'm not on on thurs/sat/sun enjoy the weekend :)
Ah, OK then, see you Monday Kate.
"woot" was not found in the dictionary hmmmm.....
picturing mich with a mr. potato head and squash body ;)
Not to worry. JillyJill is on a campaign to have woot added to the dictionary for regular use. : P
I have 4 more minutes before I have a squash body, Kate
then we'd have to ho 4/5 and howl using another word though...
There's always something....
Bye for real now - - - ***poof***
an explicit typed message on a cell phone is a se 4/9 then just let it grow... se 5/20 se 6/33 se 5/20 *hagd all ... *poof** see you friday
Just random clues, I guess.

Hi Peri
hey Molls
Still too chilly to feel like Spring. I need to start invoking the Warm Weather Goddess.
still chilly here too
Please invoke it to stretch as far wide as here too please:-)
FW, now off to read for a bit, happy babbling all
Done Zoom. I always include my friends in my good wishes. : )
Congrats & enjoy the rest of your day, Peri.
aww thanks, Molly..appreciated.
It's past time for us to move from sweaters to shorts. : D
Way past time agreed. Shorts...not with my bandy legs haha
hello room
Hello, Puglet.
Had to look up "bandy legs". You Brits keep me on my toes. : )
teehee
And i am done..did have to list for the EX7/56
Good for you Zoom. No shame in listing.
Nope none at all.
Ok take care, Molly...& all stealth babblers.
Bye Zoom. See you next time. *Waves at all the hiders*
Good Evening, Everyone. How are you all on this sun-shiney (but cold) day?
I had to take DH somewhere about noon today and there were some high school-aged kids walking somewhere wearing short sleeves and shorts; and it was just 40 degrees (F) outside at the time.
(Crazy Minnesota teens!)
Can't blame teenness on Minnesota.
very true, stidg. But I'd think they would have some Common Sense!
We are comfortable in the the gray/green of the great Nothwest.
I bought castantets yesterday. What do I know about common sense?
is it that cold there?
Common sense...oh how I miss common sense.
LOL! They sound like fun! (I have a set of zills myself)
What are zills? Mine or Ludwig castanets. What do Germans know about flamenco?
Ooo, Gran Mere is a secret Spanish dancer. : D
I actually did try a few steps, Molly (In the privacy of my own living room). Pretty pitiful but the actual castanent playing improved 100% since my first try yesterday.
zills are the small finger cymbals used in Eastern Mediterranian music (often used by belly dancers, but I'm not a belly dancer)
So you have a flair for percussion Gran Mere. Good for you.
Flamingo dancing sounds interesting....
Oh, I saw the finger cymbals on the same rack but focused on the castanets as there are two measures in the Baccanale that call for a bit of rhythm.
Molly, I am not fantastic but just willing to try.
It's all about being willing to try. The rest comes later.
*tap tap tap tappity tap tap tap* *clap clap clap clappity clap clap clap*
are you going to use them in your concert, stidg?
i is willing to try most anything!
hi all
hi jmc! Lovely dance there on entering!
:-)
JMC joins in on the spoons. : P
Oh jmc. Yes, you've got it. Righty, righty, lefty, lefty. (Did you know the right castanent is slightly higher in pitch than the left one?)
ty ty i remembers well the flamenco party over my head in Buenos Aires
Swirling, tapping, dipping, laughing. I think we've got it.
i did not know that buy i did always think i heard a difference
really,stidg? So you have to put them on the correct hands even? Wow;
the spoons are a great instrument. . .where my saw?
*Takes deep breaths and joins in on the jug*
I used to play spoons; haven't tried in a long time
Yes. Who would have thought left and right castanets? Not me until yesterday. Oh how I love learning new things.
*where is. . . i would hate to be caught in a grammatical error! heaven forfend!
Empty the jug first, molly. Oh my. Maybe not.
Now we need a washboard player. Come on down!
*twang twang twangady twang*
saws is just a slow instrument no matter what!
Twang twang twangady twang are the three repeating chords in every country western song.
that's because really country music started with saws. . .
Along with lyrics about an old hound dog or a cheatin' heart.
Western flamenco (or not).
what happens when you play a country western song backwards?
hey watch it i is a hank williams fan
Ever since someone said that Murphy's forearms make a heart, that is all I see when I look at his picture. : D
i'll bite nef. . . what?
the guy gets his truck, the girl and his dog back! <bows deep>
haha
(that was my one and only Country western joke
Oh, yes. Murphy is our Valentine.
Did you know that when you can play a song backwards, you can play it forwards much more proficiently. I didn't know that until recently. Try it, it works.
i have several but they are too long for even me to tell in the chog. . .
well it was a nice break. . . i will bbl. . . .
cute, stidg! :-)
By jmc Always nice seeing you.
bye, jmc! Take care!
It seems DH "elected" me to make supper tonight; so I'd better start. BBL; Happy Babbling All!
hello Mother -- hey all
Hello mama. How are you doing? Just got fireworks.
bye Nef... LOL late as usual
The furniture is almost all in place -- just the living room and dining room to put together now.
I'm going to fix dinner next.
It's going to be very livable, if a lot less "airy!"
YAY Mother!
Good to hear. Livable is a good thing.
Talk tomorrow. Love to all.
I rescued the salmon from the freezer at the house. We will try to eat it tonight... and the jars of jams and pie fillings from the freezer as well. The other jams and such are not likely safe, but these should be okay
Love you Mother, see you tomorrow
howdy again everyone:)) back for a few more words:)
re: country songs.Steve Goodman did the best one.it is called every country song look for the live version of him doing it where he is wearing a big white cowboy hat.vid is taken from a recording done in the 80,s still funnay as all heck

instruments for measuring very small volumes of fluid
the last pi5/14 is a liquor from peru

I don't see an apricot word
sounds like apricot kind of Ruru
like the pi5/14 which is plural of pi4/6, but change the last letter, then pluralize that

well that was more than i knew. . . i am working with wordpress which is fairly understandable but every once in a while i get lost. . .

reading youricon info, jes, good to see you guys and gals are fostering pets now.we have done that for years with a no kill policy till forever homes can be found for the fur babies.only problem is the local animal shelter has to have a vet pretty well chained up in the basement full time when the foster load is heavy:)
i've been fostering pets since before you knew me, cross... all the kitties i've tried to pawn off on you were fosters :)
Yes Jes, we Americans actually do nice things for pets and people. Who knew? : D
i'm limited by space to one or two at a time... if i had more moneys, i'd build a small shelter, but sooo many issues with that.
stange things can happen,molly
hello all
fireworks! last word was st5/10
i deserve a cookie for that, brb :)
think there are about 100 out on foster atm.my son volunteers there from time to time
ok, i'm back and available for cluing :)
so,your shelters do fostering, jess or just you?
we have 2 fosters right now, crossy, the horse that I still haven't offloaded from over a year ago, and now the mastiff
i am my own non-profit, crossy
*Passes a plate of cookies to Jes*
i have a question for you folks who foster...(and you are wonderful)...who do find to take care of the fosters when you go on vacation?
what i mean are the large ponds/shelters.are they set up for fostering?
I was spending enough time and money on random injured animals that i decided i should be able to write it off of my taxes
pounds
vacation, inge? is that an English word? I'm not familiar with it...
there are no large shelters in this county, crossy.
in most caseswe pop them back in the shelter for a week.sometimes they even get adopted while we are away
ah, i guess that answers that, jes
I think it depends, crossy. Our local shelter fosters, but not all do.
there are a few small rescues that periodically work together and periodically feud...
interesting, crosshair. it's something that keeps me from fostering
thta is what i was trying to get at,jess.we have regional shelters.ours has a capacity of around 200 cats and 100 dogs or so
actually, that's more to do with my real job and the permanent animals than the fosters, inge... i own a veterinary clinic, which eats all of my time, and have a plethora of animals in addition to the fosters.
you are a vet, jes?
closest shelter we have approaching that size is next county down, about 55 miles away. I have never worked with them, but think they have foster homes.
sadly a lot of cat dumping still goes on here, hence the large numbers
yes, inge. at least in this state, you have to be a veterinarian to own a veterinary clinic. i don't know if that's the case in other states.
but all are getting microchipped now,so this should ease.no one wants a dumped cat traced back to their door
good deal actually 175 for a cat 225 for a kitten ,all shots, flea treated if needed ,microchipped collar, tags kitty bed,i 5 pound bag of good vet dry food and a kitty blanked knitted by volunteers
desexed, too, i assume?
hi all
yup, cetificate for when age is right for it to be done for kittens
cats are done before pick up
hi cgypsy :)
dogs are less of an issue it seems.last i checked there were 4 in house
:) hi jes
i could send them some if they're short, crossy :)
lol, only if you take 30 or 40 cats
hmm. i'm not sure i'd win that deal; see above re: limited space/no kennels!
also the hubby would object somewhat
we had to raise donations for this new shelter.town supplied the land.the local builders did the construction and the town matched donations dollar for dollar.tokk most of a year or so
one word left....can i get a clue for the first sp 5/12 word please?
a canned speech
before that we had a local resident donate the use of an entire house that still had water and heat but was put on hold for demolition till the new shelter was done
switch the last 2 letters of the sp 5 below it
last word ST 5/10 please and I just know it is going to be a fish
thanks, jes....done!
anyways.good night all.poink
double last letter, mel
nini crossy
sleep sweet, crossy, give the kitties skritches
yay penquis!
grrr I knew it, thank you! and firewords!
goodnight all...thanks for the help!

i went to panera and y sandwich was free beause they screwed it up. very strange - someone put streusel topping on the tomato basil bread. my sandwich tasted like cinnamon.
eww thats sounds nasty
bizarre
the combination that is
the ounter hlep kept saying, all tomato basil bread has a sweet crust. and i saw the manager who said the same but went back and got a sl6, sniffed and tasted it and went back to see the baker
Who wants streusel topping on a sandwich?
apparently SOMEONE thinks someone does :/
That is just gross. This combining sweet and savory thing has gone too far.
Molly it was the baker's error. overpriced sandwich anyway. they gave me the wrong side to boot. That will kill that craving probably for good. N more bacon turkey bravo.
how come ipls is not in the dictionary
just to annoy you, weiik :)
i haven't ipl'd a computer since the 370 series
co/12 #3 pls?
i can't say as i ever have, weiik...
Bacon, turkey and steusel topping. You should get a lifetime free sandwich coupon for that.
plural of co4
jes, do you go back that far
:D
no, sorry, that's #4. co5/12 #3 is the knit thing you put on a teapot
co 5/12 is snuggle up to alt spelling
and the baguette i got after i pointed out that i had not ordered chips - well, it appeared they BROKE it off instead of cutting it
honestly? i don't know, weiik...when was that?
ty
initial program load on a mainframe

random trivia, today is the 40th birthday of the cellphone!
i do, but i was too young to be doing anything on computers :)
yes and also national walk day
oh I did not know that TO
happy birthday to all with a phone ...
Wow, I don't know anyone who had a cell phone 40 years ago.
Is the cell phone that old? That means there were cell phones already around when I was born! Nobody had cell phones when I was little. I didn't get a cell phone until I was in my mid-thirties!
it was the test, an itt exec i believe. one of those huge ones
i will feel silly but i need a clue pls for the he6/24psl
Yep, it was what we used to call a "mobile phone"...the big huge ones.

ty all, ust scrounge up more food or go directly to bed to avoid eating more. happy babbling.
sleep sweet, TO
jess, was just reading a story about a cat rescued from great falls in Paterson nj on Monday. I am wodnering if it was before or after I was there. he wither fell or was thrown (more likely since it is hard to believe that a cat would be nosing around noisy spraying water). They named him lucky
any injuries/hypothermia?
no but pretty thin, probably trapped a while. very sweet, did not even fight the rescuers. is this a sign? is it time for a cat for me again? they probably wont' do an interstate adoption
http://tinyurl.com/crwsn4p
can anyone give me a clue for those i s please
is + vowel + not heaven
Ok, I decided NOT to star the grid so I am signing off
Goodnight to my fellow babblers!I'll see you tomorrow
a line on a weather map connecting points that receive equal amounts of sunshine.
thankyou got two of them off that
most of the high-profile rescues have dozens of folks signing up to adopt them... but if reading about him makes you want to look into another cat, you could take it as a sign that it's time to visit your local rescues :)
night, min. i think you could have done it we would he4
sleep sweet, min
the other 2 i words are 4 letter words
no, it's just that i have never been to the falls but i was there that day
got them all now
thankyou muchly
welcome, sandy
night all
just started this so dont expect to finish
sleep sweet, TO
Jess , is a 'hellhound' a real breed? or is he just very much in need?
you can do it, sandy!
Lol doesnt matter I have to go somewhere soon
heh, no, his breed is Fila Brasiliero. Hellhound is my affectionate name for him because he is a huge, blundering menace
he almost took my leg out today, just by accidentally shouldering me while playing
that is a breed I have never heard of. My son in law has a rottweiler which is very large and heavy so i can relate to that
ooh, jess! there are lambs on the lamb-cam! the one Lilian told us about
Little John is 7 months old, and 115 pounds. and not fat.
he's on the large end for the breed, but they're not really known for being compact...
i don't know what lamb-cam that is, TO, sorry.
do you have a link?
the rotty is 52 kilos and is not fat either he is two, we also have a jack russel which is a lot easier to handle
http://tinyurl.com/c8pxbke
wow that is a growing puppy still???
yeah. just a little young'un....
see the lambs? i saw two
just one, and it was hiding under the ewe
Lambs are very cute no doubt
we will get some sheep next year when our pastures are properly done
two wandering around the right side
alrighty kiddoes. 'bout time for me to shower and go sleep. any last minute clue requests before i vanish?
thanks jes but no and good nite
you have a lovely one too, sandy :)
bye sandy
molly are you here?
Good evening all. TO - I just looked at the lamb cam. Thanks for sharing a smile tonight.
hello spell that one looks a bit wobbly, very new i guess
Hubby is going to love this when he sees it. (He's napping on the couch right now.) We were watching a kitten cam a few months ago. These things are VERY distracting! ;-)
tellme about it. i stayed up too late the night lil posted the link
We don't have a lot of that here. (Suburb of Los Angeles). However, a distant neighbor has recently gotten some chickens, and we hear the rooster crow every day. He loves it. I keep telling him that's only because they're far enough away so the noise is "cute."
i have friends in manhattan beach, i hope to see them this year
Hubby works next town over. Its lovely there.
we looked there, but couldn't afford it
it's pricey, for sure. they got sold two arlington va properties when they married & moved.
Also, you don't get a lot of land for your $$. We're both from NY and it was shocking to me how little space you get here.
To give you an idea... Nov 11 bad wind storms here. Our neighbors had no power for a week, they plugged into ours using ONE outdoor extension cord!!!!
for sure. neighbors right on top of the. nice little courtyard vice yard
They're close to the beach tho!
wow! well they usually drive. but close enough.
not a short walk but doable i suppose.
No one walks anywhere here. It's really funny/sad.
two babies moving around now. How cute!
hey all
hi stiddy how are you?
hello
not bad today TO, you?
i am ok. tired, though, past bedtime
I imagine it is... working tomorrow?
no.
ooh, the lambs are up again
4 or 5 now

see link 10:37
it took me until 37 to go to get NBT... I am off my game. I think I will go to sleep and try again tomorrow. Have a lovely day, TO -- and you too, spellcheck. *poof*
Young sheep .. ;^]
