and so you are, my darling.....i have you for a friend....isn't that lucky?
I'm catching you up fast, ruby. I still feel about 35. Wish my face looked it!
4 to go...this is like pulling teeth
Hi all. Just popped in quickly as have to go out. I have 182 left and just can't find the co9.
It is very fortunate when we can find friends as we are older. So many friends fall away over the years -- the friends we had in school, as Young mothers and Young marrieds, at work, etc. But the friends we make NOW are very special and very dear
hello hydra
Hi ruby. Happy birthday for next week, in case I miss the actual day!
co9, a plural of co7....co + rage and **** + circle
but you'll always be younger, hydra!
You're so kind!
dinner has arrived, cyu l8er.
Haven't found co7 yet, granny, but thanks for the clue.

hey diz....such a great grannie....
Glant...YEP!! lol but I lurve 'em
love mine too - off to see them in cyrpus 3 weeks today
ditto....they are such a delight....son also appreciates the way they react to me. :)
I have them alot cos the mother, my darling dtr is such a dickhead...and has a BAD taste in partners
oh, dear, diz...that can't be good!
Glant, have lots of fun. xxx
my son has that problem, so I am not that close to his children, which os a shame
Ss slaughtered
guess i'm the fortunate one, then. mine run to me, with their arms out-stretched, and grins a mile wide on their dials. makes me feel great.
glant, you are amazing....
Rose, she has had 15 live in 'partners' since her eldest was born 12 1/2 yrs ago....some pretty screwed kiddos.
oh, dear.
good for the children that you are rpoviding some stability in their lives
thats why eldest g/dtr stays with us most w/ends.
ty Glant
oh, lord....diz.....an't begin to say how sorry i am that that is the situation. but then YOU are a steady influence in their lives....that has to count for something, hun.
it's such a shame we can't just give our children a parcel of high self esteem
ty Rose.
I somehow managed to give my daughter self esteem, but my son not quite so much - and yet I did nothing dofferent
his father has low self esteem though, maybe that's the difference
I am coming in late to this conversation, but I would never want to give my childen self esteem. It gives them a false view of themselves. I have seen this too many times as a teacher. I would rather give them character.
tees
SORRY!!!!
but if they don;t have enough self esteem, they rely on others to give ot to the, and many will have ultiple partners (not necessarily good ones)
glant...it's a strange world.... my 2nd and 3rd sons are fine....my 1st is a complete stranger.....nothing changed, except the presence of their father.
hey, godthaab
they lurve coming here, but sometimes we have probs with our 10 yr old g/son (ADHD/OCC) but he is being tested further for aspergers/tourettes
my daughter has the confidence to try things, accept it if it doesn;t go well first time, and try it again, because I brought her up to believe in herself, that she could do things
I don't think anybody can "give" someone a trait. We develop our own.
OK, not 'give' nbut provide the right conditions for it to develop
I hate to through a bomb in here and run, but I am late. Bye
and when I said at the start 'i wish we could give it', i meant i know we can't, but it would be helpful to soem if we could
bye godthaab
hmmm, godthaab...i think the genetic pre-disposition is in all of us....we choose to develop it.
np's godthaab....each to his/her own.
oint
diz, my eldest has ADHA/ODD, and my step-son has Asperger's. anytime you wanna chat, contact me via email. and DH has OCD.

hapy babbling, see you tomorrow
LOL, who says men can't time it right? tomorrow, glant.
se ya Glant. (behave with the gas man...hehehe)
rose will send an email in the next couple of days...are you on FB?
not really, diz. have developed a deep mistrust for that site's security. email only, my dear.
okies
Morning/Evening :)
hey smores....and how are this day?
*how are you*
I am well, just waking up ..how are you?
nice big juicy grid today :)
nightie nite all, back for last 30 tomozz. xx
Hi and bye diz .... sleep well :)
okay, now, thanx, smores. and night diz....see you at the flip, hun
is it about 10pm for you Rose?
nah, almost 9pm...daylight saving finished
ahh..so 14hours ahead of me, as it's almost 7am here
ohhh, so it's 7am friday???where you are???
Indiana
*groan* please don't be offended, smores...but geography is not my strong point...apart from knowing indiana is in the US of A....that is as far as i go...:(
lol...not offended in the least rose...we are in the Eastern Time Zone
thank goodness for that!!! *sgh* absolutely drive hubby to distraction if he wants me to navigate when we are on holidays....for goodness sake....how do i know which way is east or north??
I live in the US and still have to think hard sometimes as to where some states are :)
:)
*grin* if i close one eye i can see the digital set top box time...it says it's 9:08pm....guess i need to find my bed and rest my weary head....
Indiana is about 700 miles west of NewYork
Rest well Rose.... see ya soon :)
Hi smores and rose if you're still here :)
night all, happy babbling!!! smores...will try to remember that when i come over....you will have to wait for me to retire, though. ;)
lol...I'd rather come see you :)
night liz.....see you tomorrow, hun
Hi Liz :)
sleep well Rose :)
Morning smokes :)
Arrrrrrgh! Smores!
*Snickers at "smokes" *
lol ... at least I'm not snores :)
Think I'd prefer snores to smokes!
gotta love autocorrect :)
I really should read before posting but every thing's so fast!
no prob Liz...been called much worse :)
Oh don't, I like the typos better. : D
:) Hi Molly
just make sure you read 1st if addressing Bich
Happy Friday everyone. Morning thunderstorms here, which I always find very strange.
Happy Friday to you as well...I think our storms are over, looks rather dreary still
clue 4 the co9 please
hello everybody
Also, my rote memory brain always has to launch into a chorus of "April Showers" when it rains in April. : )
Co+ faster than walk + foot digits
we had a thunderstorm ast night, Raffie's first, and she looked puzzled rather than scared
Hey ruby :)
♪ So keep on looking for a bluebird ♫ and listening for his song ♪ whenever April showers come along ♫
teehee Molly
ty for the earworm, molly
glad she wasn't frightened ruby
I'm trying chrissie's clue with no success :(
thanks Chrissie and good morning :)
Use the present tense of not walk
ty
got it, ty
Good day everyone
I am so sick of rain!
hey at least it isn't snow
that's like the scene in Young Frankenstein, where they're diging up "AB Normal's" grave and Igor says, "It could be worse, it could be raining....." And the heavens open up
how is the temp there ruby? Has it warmed up nicely?
a little, but not nicely
LOL...hilarious movie
Snow, snow, sick sick, snow
too cold to work outside
Frau Blucher!
Sounds like a ballroom dance
it's twoo! (trying the same joke as yesterday when nobody got it)
Would you like to roll in ze hay? Roll, roll, roll, roll.
hahah
snow chrissie...?.. we just have rain
wan't it in Diary of a Mad Houswife where Richard Benjamin used to approach his wife with "How about a roll in the hay?"
Snow remaining in sheltered places, hasn't fallen for a few weeks though rolin
All I know is movies!
oh wow ruby...I haven't thought about that book in years
I'm trying not to be grumpy about the rain. I planted yesterday and I'm grateful for the watering from Nature.
hi rolin
me too molly...
molly is never grumpy
I asked husband to buy seeds for Thymus Serpyllum to use instead of grass and instead he brought home 4 Thymus Vulgaris plants. How weird is that?
agreed...thankful spring has sprung :)
Not weird. He could only remember the Thymus part. : D
It was written down! He asks for lists and then doesn't read them
lol
He is a y-chromo Ruby. They don't read lists or directions.
Googled T S, looks pretty ruby. Have you used it in place of grass before?
it's twoo
..or instructions
This is explained in that Jeanne Robertson video. Send them to the store with a list that says "1 pound of flour" and they will come home with 5 pounds.
no but I wanted to combine i with Corsican mint to have a care-free lawn. Every year, DH insists on having the grass cut too short and every year it turns Brown and dies
Martha Stewart was my source when I planned this garden
Who's seen the Two Ronnies "four candles" sketch, priceless!
Moral of the story: If you want certain plants, go get them yourself. : P
but we also needed dirt and I couldn't manage that
you're right, of course
my sister used a lovely creeping thymus throughout her backyard....mainly around the trees and between the stepping stones...very nice purple
Is that the same as the Serpyllum?
that's it smores, and my garden is all in shades of purple, red, pink, blue and salmon
yes, exactly the same plant
ahh...didn't know the proper name :)
creeping thyme is right but since we're in France, I have to know the Latin names of plants
Really? They will speak Latin but not English? Shame on them.
for buying plants, without the Latin name, all is lost. It is hard to know the common Fr names
Hi again - skype call over - back to the serious job of word hunting!

Vulgar...there's a word you don't hear too often these days...and it's been used twice in chat this morning. Well, if you count Ruby's plant mishap.

Thanks for the ne8, Molly.

I can't seem to use ne8 in a sentence without it sounding like something an English teacher would put a big red circle around.

hi scrabs
Hi Scrabbs
Luc, where have you been, young man? I haven't seen you here in a few years.
tr8 - prefix for three + go into minus the r and plural.
TY, Bea.
thanks, Bea
i show up her once in a while... usually in "stealth babbling" mode... as for young man, well...
Age is relative, Luc.
quite right scrabs - how have u been ?
ty bea
thx bea for tr8
ty
Just passed one year since my Dad died unexpectedly in front of me. It has been a year in a fog.
yes, it is hard to go through. It happened to me also.
oh Scrabs, I did not know, am so sorry for your loss
sorry to hear that ... my mom passed away last may, quite unexpectedly as well... still in the estate as i am the executor...
Grief is life's biggest challenge, I think. Maybe I am wrong. But adjusting to life without a beloved being is so tough.
sorry to hear that, montreal
Oh, Luc, you are in that daze too.
Annie--your husband, your Dad? Which experience?
sorry Luc It is really hard to lose a loved one
My Dad
she didn't pass away in front of me (that must be terrible) but saw her before they covered her up and that was terrible enough...
Aw, Annie. It has been so hard. I was talking with him, he was cheerful and joking around, and then he was staring off and gone.
Yes, Luc. I continue to ask, as I did from that moment, so WHERE are you now?
scrabbs, my father was in the hospital and said he was tired. I told him to rest and he never answered. It was a awful shock.
*an
awful...
single o please
It happened a long time ago
onit
sorry
My father laid back, I asked him if he wanted me to adjust the bed, he said no, then he was staring. Yes, a horrible, kick-in-the-gut, shock.
cool. on 6/24
clue please
still HERE but with all kinds of ailments in the last couple of years, nothing li4 threatening but i could say that i'm down...

Great to see you here, Luc.
montreal, sorry you are ailing
TY, Annie. Weird word.

There are flood watches all around here. Snow meltdown + days of rain = swollen creeks.
weird word ty
you are a doctor scrabs aren't you ? there was a great article in the Time magazine about a month ago about the cost of health care in the US - have u read it ?
Not that article, but others. American health care IS out of control--too may te5, too much unnecessary use of technology, too many unnecessary use of ERs. too much unnecessary use of medications....
And I have witnessed fellow MDs play a role in the nonsense.
right... if u r interested in the article, send me your email add. (mine is my profile) and i'll forward it to you (if i can manage it !)
can i have clue for the pi10 please? xxx
I will go to the Time website. Actually, my mother gets Time, so I will read it at her house.
and in my opinion the worst is the turf wars instead treating a patient with team concept formulated for the particular patient
ok scrabbs gr5 ! - 1st pass 166/124 = pitiful ! - BBL - nice to SEE you all - happy babblings all !
Yes, power struggles occur with different subspecialties.
Bye, Luc. Be happy.
thx scrabs - hi and bye BR - "POOF"
bye, Montreal and Hi BR
I really cannot understand why the dualistic model has any credibility anymore
For mental health care--one doc for talk therapy, another dispenses the drugs, often many drugs. It is frightening how many kids are on multiple psych drugs for various behavior problems.
hi all
Hello Peri
very true, Scrabs. and it is the docs best interest to keep them on the meds :(
help with the lone R on the bottom pls
more ri 4/7
ri5/16
And far too many parents prefer that their child be medicated rather than do the hard work of teaching the child to change their behaviors
Yes, the debate is raging over what constitutes a disorder or a normal reaction to a traumatic event.
indeed, BR
ty for ri5
and normal toddler/young child behavior--inattention, tantrums/etc--is now treated as ADHD and bipolar disease.
that is awful, scrabs
I have two grandsons with Aspbergers, i is on medication and worries me to death, the other drives me nuts but it must be better to just use good parenting
Insel, the director of the National Institute of Mental health states repeatedly how behind we with understanding the mechanisms of emotional health
I see it everyday. The natural state of young kids = emotional lability, tantrums, inattention, impulsivity, fidgetiness--is something kids are supposed to outgrow, if given adequate discipline .
by what age, scrabb?
Scrabbs, what age child are you describing?
Jenny, I do hope the boys do well.
Politics and greed complicate matters
The other side of that coin are the kids with real disorders in need of treatment whose parents refuse to acknowledge it.
also true, Molls
Yes, that is a serious issue too
Perhaps age 8 or so, later for boys than girls. Boys are the real victims--10% of 11 yr old American boys are on meds for "ADHD."
the boys are the same age and the one on medication is very subdued and doesn't want to eat or sleep. The other one is very clever and although has a job to sit still for long is obviously going to be able to lead a full and useful life - they are both 13
As far as tantrums--should be done by age 3 or 4 if kid are taught well. Kids must be dethroned by that age.
They started over pushing the ADHD thing twenty some years ago when my oldest was in first grade.
and then they stay on those meds indefinitely, Scrabs
the meds are addictive
Yes, once labeled and treated, then always labeled and treated. So sad, so worrisome.
very worrisome
scrabbs, can one get off these meds at some point?
And "ADHD" becomes THE reason, the excuse for ALL misbehaviors and difficulties. "Well, he has ADHD...."
Very true, Scrabs!!
Then too, according to many studies, some genetic and environmental issues are not capable of being changed only understood and ameliorated
And that teaches the child to "live in their disorder" instead of learning ways to cope with it.
I see 4 yr old on ADHD meds. Aren't most 4 yr olds impulsive, inattentive and fidgety??
we handled all my son's issues privately and kept the school out of it, so he was never officially labeled. I didn't want to deal with that headache.
Learned helplessness is a problem
In my opinion, most parents can't be bothered to discipline their children.
when my daughter was 4 I wanted to kill her. ...that was the worst year. She turned 5 and bam the trouble was over.
Meds can be stopped but if a parent buys into the whole ADHD diagnosis and "need" for meds, then stopping meds is unlikely.
clue for the single t please
Howdilly doo, one and all.
Judi, Judi, Judi
I guess the same could be said for an adult who has been on ADHD meds for years
Too true, Molly--parents prefer a diagnosis and meds rather than teaching their child to learn new skills
Judi doo
I have gotten off many medications ..... Burns is one who says if a person is not doing better on meds after a specific period of time how can continued use be justified ... it does alter the brain
*looking, cool-girl**
we haven't ever let him use his deficits as an excuse either. we tell him he can control it or let it control him. he is in high school now and has learned coping skills so he isn't dependent on the meds.
te6/18 think see saw
BR, have you been tested for the MTHFR DNA mutation? Read about that. I am homozygous and started taking methylfolate 18 months ago.
did anyone ever clue the pi10?
Very good, eieios.
I know a special ed teacher (who I have great respect for) who says to her kids "You are going to own your disability, or it is going to own you." It is her goal to make sure her kids do NOT use their disabilities as an excuse for not being the best they can be.
my treatment team has told me I need to accept the fact I will not get better
I wish more teachers had that perspective. Too many people lower the bar.
dont getit
Depends on the "diagnosis", BR. And if the diagnosis is accurate.
pi 10 type of bird then add
te6 = wobble
i... another day to bird
I have had at least ten different ones
ty
I just tell people my diagnosis is fear of welcome mats
lol. I used to have a "welcome mat" that said "Go Away". The neighbors loved it.
Or healthy distrust of some people.
and I call my journal, Amnesia Chronicles
Judi...Miss Anthrope : D
:-)
thanks, cool
I am still trying to figure out a bird
iota
oops!
oooo ty eieios lol
city bird
or a bird to deliver a message
Friday Finger Food buffet in the PB Eieios. : D
I do have hope for the next generations .... the work on the brain is stunning and more is being done with environmental and nurture issues
TY, River
Yes, BR--more objective testing--fMRIs, SPECT scans, genes--so improved diagnoses and more accurate, effective treatments, rather than trial and error approach
OK, I finally figured out the pi10, an hour after seeing first clue.
Of course if our pusillanimous leaders would quit sending people off to war zones there would be an immediate improvement in emotional health, less homelessness and fewer suicides
So true. War is largely unnecessary.
Major points for using a 13 letter word, Scrabbs!
BR used the really big word--pusillanimous!
I think is fits

good ni** everybody. Very happy with 205 words!

fie is almost impossible.
good job, ruby. Sleep well.

no it can't be becaus the 2nd fi word is the 4/9 fruit
the first fi 8 is one who consumes the fruit

Ok! Gobshite from across the pond with a question that probably any 7 yr old in the US could answer..... What exactly is a Congressman?
1st Commandment of Babble: Thou shalt use tinyurl
a congressman is a term that can be applied to either a senator or a member of the house of representatives, however is usually used for the latter.
A congressman is an elected representative to government.
it adds charaters at the end to the www hurshy... not sure how many characters to delete from end
it's not the end, it's everywhere you see \n, that needs to come out
So, he is elected locally, to serve nationally? Like aBritish MP, right?
correct, like an MP, except more douchey
If you say so. Our MP's are Military Police : D
ty, i'll try again
pi 6/27 please?
Oh that reminds me, worst misspell of the week: dushbag
lol molly
rat of the sky, cnan?
Soodle, have you begun a torrid affair with an American congressman?
Lol!! Thanks guys. I'm gorging myself on House of Cards on Netflix, and was getting bogged down in the nitty gritty. As it were!!
oooh! house of cards was wonderful!!!
if there is a rat constellation, I don't know it
no, it's a bird.
no idea
That's funny because I was going to recommend "Scandal" but thought it might be too "US government" based.
large city bird famed for pooping on statues
I'm really enjoying it. And, Molly, no I'm not, but if I were, that Peter Russo would be my congressman of choice. :-P
oh - I see -- ty kate

which part does he play, molly?
Will
i only have one 9/10, sorry hurshy
co + not walked + foot digits (and singular)
Good grief. Babble used to be my excuse for my house being messy & untidy. Netflix is rapidly becoming my excuse for my house becoming a health hazard.
ty molly
can I get a clue for the lone o on the right side?
It is great to be able to watch an entire season at your pleasure, instead of week to week.

Molly! You disappoint me! Chuckle!
Well, every time I start going down that street, you get all "Who me? NEVER!"
I don't know about dull women, but I know OCD women have immaculate homes. : P
Kate, a good friend advised me to buy some 'Get Well Soon' cards & leave them on the mantlepiece. Then, if someone unexpected called, I could point to the cards, and say that I've been under the weather, hence the mess.
lol
<---Not real fond of people who drop by without calling first.
i want a friend like that!
back again
I'm really lucky. I park my car round the back of the house, out of sight. If the doorbell rings, I peek out the window, and I can decide whether I 'm in or not - depending on the caller!
just like having a butler!
hi bichon :)
Hi Bich. :-)
2nd se 7, please?
Lol Hursh. Its as close to Downton Abbey as I'm ever likely to get!
I'd better get a move on here. Only have 131 words

sorry Nan. I'd love to help. Too busy chattering, a usual.

how was dinner?
Hello
good, my love is a great cook. I didn't feel like eating though... after the fight and the talk and all I am kinda... blech.
hi Soodle *hugs*
Hello Sprite (((())))
how are you doing, Soodle?
Fight?
yeah, my son and husband had a huge fight earlier today... things got physical and out of hand. Very blech.
:( how distressing
I'm very well, thanks. And so sorry to hear about tensions at home. It can be so difficult.
yes, very. I came home from therapy day... full day of therapy. Must have a secret store of energy and patience somewhere, lol, 'cause God know where I got it from.
glad to hear you are well, Soodle :) Yeah, it was nasty, but I got them to talk it out. I think things will be a little better now.
How old is your boy, Sprite?
he will be 17 next month
Oh my. A very tricky age. Never mind, he has a wonderful Mom, and things will sort themselves out! For sure!
:D
I guess it is against nature, the way we keep our children home until into their twenties... nature made it so that the young male wants to challenge the old one... and the old one wants to protect his own status... and there you go, antlers stuck :)
Good Afternoon, All. (((sprite))) Been there, done that; our son is 33 and a very nice person (and very caring too). Your son will get there; just remember to pick your fights wisely and don't let him push you too much.
hi Nef :) *hugs* Thanks... great advice. And a good reminder.
<waves to nef>
Let him get out on his own, remind him you love him; but if he's got the answers, he's got to do it on his own dime.
indeed. Will keep that in mind. It is good to hear from people who have lived through this and survived ;)
hi TK, Soodle, Molly, hurshy and all.
Very wise word Nef. Well said!
hints for the pi 9/72, pi 10/91 (combo?) please? does it have anything tho do with the bird before it?
I called MY Mom recently, and was venting about the thoughtlessnes/insensitivity/selfishne\nss of my kids, and she just remarked 'T'wasn't off the ground they picked it up from'. Soodle was put back in her box toot sweet!
oooooo nasty! :D :D
I had to kick our son out when he didn't join us for a family 4 day trip to the Wisconsin Dells and threw a party here and drove our car (which he wasn't supposed to have a key for). We had 3 weeks of blessed peace and quiet and then he called to bail him out of jail. I refused to do it. It was the hardest thing I've ever done
Kate, cryptic hint: dove rocks.
i can hear that in my head soodle, thick accent and all :)
I really think that was the best you could do for him, Nef. But yes, that must have been so hard.
thanks sprite!
yay Kate! Smart you!
oh nef!
clever sprite for clueing so well :)
must be poison for Super Dove ;)
rofl hahahahaha lolololol
my new word learned for today, that's for sure
wonders if the "S" would be distorted due to the dove being pi 6/27-breated ;)

oops only meant to say it once!
yvw crayola, and hi
oh, and BTW; my son tells that he was"on his own" for 4 months after being kicked out of the house! I had to show him the old date book to prove it was only 3 weeks. I'm sure he must have felt it was much longer....
hahahaha
hi Foffle
hi crayola.
Its all in the eye of the beholder, Nef, isn't it?
hi nef
indeed... some days seem like years to me
Hello Foffle & Crayola. :-)
definitely, Soodle.
thanks for the pi clues. got the bird but not the rocks -(
hi soodle
Foffle: put a stone ending after the bird. As in gr7/8. Or the stone Superman is allergic too.
that was to, with one O.
granite
lololll Nef!
The bird, foffle, followed by text speak for opposite of day, and plural.
Ooops! Off to the PB for me!
I already have that one, dang it!
hi crayola :) ty for the gr 7/8 sprite
lol Bea! Thanks for making me laugh, guys.
what'sw to eat in the PB today nef? ;)
I put vanilla ice in the PB, with strawberries and very dark chocolat.
Molly put toll house choc chip cookies in there earlier.
Sorry, I'd slipped off and grabbed a piece of cheese and came back and forgot to look where I was.

no I don't chat much I'm more of a lurker
or 6/24 after the church musical instrument and before "the far east" please and thank you ?
I rarely finish either; but that's by choice. I'm addicted and trying not to finish the grid; I found that life goes on even when I don't finish; so it's better if I don't! :-)
<---- luvs lurkerz :)
lol nef

*walk of shame*
wlcomes jeanne with open arms, a plate full of cookies, and a glass of bailey's :)
No, Molly, she didn't say "A WORD" she asked a question (I think there's a difference?)
Sorry Nef, she said a WORD while asking a question. : P
(we've got to make it harder to get in here!)
The Bailey's I need...supposed to be working...hahaha. I post about once in every four years...vented my spleen and committed a faux pas...sigh...
do any of the oc word have to do with "8" ?
first ta5/10?
(I don't want to share with tons of people; the goodies are really good today! ;-)
you're just out of practice jeanne, you should chat more, not less :)
Hey people vent here all the time. You don't have to "not chat" because you did that.
true...I love following the stories of everyone...I'm just the strong, silent type...NOT. But I like the cookies and hugs, and even the occasional fish slap that happens...
No, Kate.
No, I know everyone is good humored here...keeps me happy just seeing the happy regular posters!
Yes, but the strong silent types usually have the best stories. : D
I don't know. Chemically, doesn't the gas word have to do with 8? To be really obscure and all that.
well...but of course I have a few...bring on the Bailey's! I've got to work some more, but maybe I won't be silent for long...hugs to all!
yes molly
And the one after that has to do with 8, in the math sense.
ty bea i would love to hear you speak out jeanne, this is a gr5/14 place to vent or share joy.
will do soon, TK, I promise!
yes it does molly.
This is hilarious, me talking about math and science.
<--- pleased that a lurker will be joining the chog more in the future :))
Okay, now I'm confused. Isn't Kate the one who asked if any oc words had to do with 8?
BTW, the craisin oatmeal cookies were made by DH and our grandson (his Mom is back in the hospital again, so we had him while our son was at a job interview)
it was i molls, still looking for the first 2 and last one..
I'll leave all the cookies for you Nef, since you are in a "not sharing" mood. : D
I am missing one ae4. Not the one that has to do with flying. Any clue?.
nope; Molly, It's the dark chocolates I'm not sharing! ;-) But I think I've had enough now (stiffling a burp)
ae4 - period of time.
ages and ages kenny
Got it!

TK, you've already been IN here for the past 1/2 hour (and drank a bunch of the Baileys too!)
too much bailey's is never a problem... but i mustn't babble whilst imbibing ;)

Add not truth + consonant to the ne4 that means close
what kind of weird word is that?

this may be too much grid for the time i have, but i will try it
trying to wake up so i can be a study machine
what are you studying pipping?
chemistry on sundays, and anatomy & physiology on saturdays
weekend classes are the worst, never again
8 hours each day
i don't think i could study those any day of the week
it's not fun, but i'm trying to get into a program to be a physician assistant
i'm fine with the anatomy but the chemistry is awful
i was never any good at chenmistry
nately, i won't actually have to use it again

i thought it was going to be a job like
that
yeah, def not just for fun
broke the 200 - BBL with list I think
May I please have a clue for any ar word? Thanks
ok ar plus a vowel and not day but n and there is a plural one too
ar, the verb of to be and not day
and pl
ar5/6 french for stop
there really are a lot of climbing words in this grid, it is funny
another is name of gas company
ar6 is more of painting
well pipping, i suppose someone into rock climbing would know that.i can't even climb the stairs ..lol
Thanks much, cgypsy, lillian.
the french word for stop is used in climbing a lot
yw peach
and cl4/6, and cr4/7
is
does it mean to stop pipping or something else?
it's used to mean the edge of a wall that you use as a handhold
ah, ok.ty
hmm...i think i prefer my feet firmly planted on solid ground...not real fond of heights
i don't mind heights.i just don't have the balance to do anything like that
neiother did i today. fell off the wall several times, doing the easiest routes they had
i am out of shape!
my balance has been destroyed on purpose pipping, so it wouldn't matter what day it was :) i do miss ice skating and dancing
scares the f4/9 out of me....
:)
love skating and dancing lil...
heights to scare alot of people
i was going to teach my bairn to ice skate and rugby, but unfortunately, have never been able to.i miss going for bike rides too.when my hubby is home he and the bairn go out for rides...i'm 2 miles behind on my mobility scooter...not quite the same! lol
Oh yeah, I know what you were going to teach her about rugby. : P
i was waiting for you to appear...lol
she could probably teach me a few things molly
kids today grow up far too fast!
taking break and going to store bbs....
Oh my, I don't even want to think about what that means.
bye gypsy, hopefully i'll be gone when you come back so tc(didn't mean that nastily by the way) :D
whew...finally down to under 100
it's not quite as bad as it sounds molly.i meant in, children are old now before their time.they seem to skip some of their childhood and act older
L, I was referring to rugby players *cough* in the locker room *cough*
they think they can cope with the world but aren't ready for it
Hello again, Everybody. How are you all this evening?
hi nef
i know what you meant molly :)
Good morning / evening everyone :)
lilli, i think that's every kid ever, i know i had those ideas at 16
hi nef.i hope you have fully recovered now
hi liz :)
that'll be one thing i won't be teaching her molly :P
120 words left to find today!
It is unfortunate that kids are exposed to sexuality at such a young age these days.
s
well, i know the sex talks at school aren't the same i had when i was her age!
In agreement with you there!
saying that molly, i wish i could go back into the changing rooms now :)
(sorry, reading back in chat; trying to catch up with what's been said (and any loose clues! ;-)
It's not just exposure, it's blatant flaunting - look at those TV progs where mothers are putting their very young girls into competitions!
I wish I was exposed to sexuality before I was.. I'd have had a better headstart
ooh, i just got the ri8! pasta!
But that could be a random comment because I haven't read back in the chog!
I'm sure you caught up quickly, ru :)
with loads of make up on and hardly any clothes liz.i don't know how a mother could do that to a young child.i think they want to relive their lives through their children
thanks for that Ri Pippin.. that one I didn't have
lol ru
Of all the reality shows, which I hate anyway, those are the worst!
they are indeed, Liz
i never watch them as i would end up shouting at teh telly
hi peri
7 left and come to a complete standstill
hi lil, hi all
I also don't watch them - I have no interest in them. I guess the only exception, is Masterchef!
I don' watch any reality shows
i like masterchef
okay, caught up with chog now. Hi again everyone!
Hi Nef :)
my last word is the first ta4/6 and I do not see. I am sure it is a fish
i've just found the re6/7 to do with the eye
NM
what is master chef? (I don't watch many of the regular TV shows; love History and science channels
fireworks
ty - hadn't found those!
YAY, peri!! WTG!!!
byee
Congrats Peri :)
wtg peri!
bye and tc
bye, peri! HAGD (or night
Masterchef - Cookery competition - UK is better that than the Aus show. Aus show is too dramatic with Big Brother aspects, though some of the challenges are good.
i must admit liz, i watched the aus one once and didn't like it
I love to watch some cooking shows, I like the Iron Chef the best.
I'm getting used to it but record it and fast forward over all the garbage!
i think there is a masterchef new zealand aswell.i'm sure i saw it on the tv guide on sky the other day
Look out for the UK Masterchef Nef - it's a good show.
i don't know iron chef nef
Never seen the NZ one, lilli.
it's on at moment.next week it will be the semi finals(uk one that is)
I think we've only just seen the 2011 here!
Congrats, peri!!!!!
you could see it on bbc iplayer on your computor liz
okay, let's see if my new icon works
It's an old Japanese cooking show, there is a more modern version of it here in the US but I like the old ones better. It pits an "Iron Chef" that this one millionaire has picked out as the best in Japan against a challenger each episode. They have 1 hour and there are judges who look at taste presentation and plating appeal (I think)
grr.
Could do, lilli but as long as it's shown regularly here, it doesn't matter too much if it's a year or two behind. We also get the celebrity and the professional versions here.
i see a cat pipping :)
Oh, we have gone from red shoes to a surprised looking cat. I wish I had 100 bucks for every cat icon here. : D
Time to list I think. Just not seeing any words now!
pipping, It sometimes takes up to a full day for a picture to change; at the least, it takes about 20 minutes for your old icon to clear from chog
if i click on your icon, that is
oh well. boo
I still have red shoes but a cat if I click on the icon!
yay, that is my ronia!
sounds good nef
I never have that problem. If you hit REFRESH, right after you change your icon, then refresh when you get back to the home screen, you should see the new icon.
Wow, Molly! That actually works on my new computer! :-D (I'm so loving this thing!)
cute cat pipping. mine is cute, when she's not being a witch
But I don't use one of those MAC things, so I can't speak for them.
Nef! You got a new computer! Good for you!
Can I have a clue for the ar 7 / 8 combo pls?
Ends in alternate spelling of not day
ar7/8, verb to be and not day
Molly; my DH got me a brand new Mac Mini a month early for my birthday! I've had it less than a week (But I've had my grandson too for the last 4 days due to his Mom being hospitalized).
ty lilli :)
I love my Mac!
ty Molly too for the clue :)
Well Happy Early birthday Nef. (I really need to stop cluing)
Clue for the lone t
I like your clues, Molly.
anyone have the ar 7 please
that was nice of him nef.
Ha ha
Happy early birthday, Nef.
ruru, it's the verb "to be" and not day
what are you going to stop clueing for, i'm happy to get any clues
I've always had Macs; going back to 1993. But DH bought me a "new" used (refurbished ) G5 about 2 years ago for Christmas (with my son's advice) and last June many of the different apps were no longer supported.
pipping, ru is being his normal sarcastic self :)
and i wouldn't want him any other way :P
Lone t please
friend with totter...seesaw
ty, i needed that one!
Ty now lone o pls
Still missing a 9 - have fi 9, li 9 and pi 9 - what am I missing please?
hi again, everyone. on6.
thanks for the b'day wishes. I'm not sure if I complained too much about it or if he got tired of my not being able to see his email forwards.
thanks for the ar 7

hi lbd and thanks. (It's actually in 3 weeks)
ty - I had the 7! Hadn't tried the pl!
I listed at with 160 left
We lost one of the true funny men of our time today. Happy trails Jonathan Winters.
yw liz
what would you rather be doing, pipping?
Guess it really is time to list and check for plurals!
fireworks!! last word pe5, a man's name
aww...I hadn't heard Molly...He was hilarious
Nasty little grid
that's one way to put it lillian
whooo hoooo Lilliann!
WTG lilli :)
Congrats, Lilli :)
YAY, Lilli!!!! WTG!!!
And thanks for the name!
congrats, lilliann!!!!
lol..ruru

I wonder if there is a couple...Pe5 and Fanny.
Sleep well :)

Better clue from smores
smores
ty
Your clue was fine Liz
not really liz...yours is easier for the 9
I like your red hawk - my brother has a pic of an adult red hawk as his icon!
Thanks so much, Liz and smores.
Red tails are beautiful birds.
aww...it's adorable, I'd never seen a baby one :)
Not sure where he took his shot - S America somewhere, possibly.
hi peach! How are you doing?
First pl found, that I'd missed!
He was newly hatched, right below him in the corner is a part of an egg that had yet to hatch. He looks so solemn in that picture.
Solemn but so cute! All fluffy!
Were did you get the pic Molly ?
Molly, did you take that picture or get it off the 'net?
red tail .com
It's a screen shot from a web cam I watched last year of the babies hatching.
Hi there, Nef. Doing OK today and you?
doing fine too, peach. :-)
We have several around here...they are beautiful to watch but never saw a hatchling before
So did you actually see a hatching?
Yes I did, it was amazing.
tierge
Wow! Hawks and lambs!
Yay! Less than 100 to go!!!!
Kind of gross when Mom and Dad would show up with dead vermin to feed the babies, but such is the way of nature.
yay liz!
i just found a weird fi 8
It's a beetle. : D
yes?? <bats eyelashes>
BRB
I thought it was a nickname for Eve
I'd assumed a bird!
Oh you naughty boy : D
teehee
Can I get a clue for the ai 7 word?
tell me more...
break time for me...75 left
Enjoy your evening, smores :)
hi folks
Smores always reminds me of that old lady Ruth Buzzi played on Laugh-In when she does the "teehee" thing. : D
Hi welki :)
I guess that would be figleafeater
ai7 is not phony kissing, air + li 4/5
man i love ruth buzzi
A distant relative of Pe5 Pe5 The Pumpkineater
speaking of which, sad to hear jonathan winters passed
tadone!! finito!! biab, i hear a brownie calling my name!
wtg lbd
hi/bye/well done, dawg
Congrats lbd
Pip, I don't find comedians as funny now as they used to be.
there's a lot of really terrible stuff among the few good ones
I said that wrong. I don't find the present day comedians as funny as the ones from previous generations.
i figured that's what you meant
YAY, lbd!!! WTG!!!
Sorry - haven't heard of him!
i think a lot of the comedy now is not just about different things, but they're really worked to change the definition of comedy in a lot of ways
Just googled him though.
I used to laugh until I was in tears at Tim Conway and Harvey Korman.
so some folks like it better now but a lot of people miss the more classic stuff
Congrats, lbdawger!!!!!!!
but i def grew up loving jonathan winters
The new comedy people all seem to be trying to be Carlin or Lenny Bruce and failing miserably at it.
and of course carol burnett and laugh in and that sort of thing, and don't even get me started on how much i love the monty python crew
still working on that clue, welki... :o|
I think one thing with the old time comedians is that they didn't have to swear or be explicit. You could read into what they said and it was funnier
pen, it wasn't a clue - it was a ridiculous 'unword'
ah...ok....thanks....
ohhhh - it's what we breathe + to raise
I loved Jonathan winters as a kid
pen, are you looking for ai7 still? It's what they do to evacuate people from floods and such. 2 words
ir 7 please
The most maddest
thank you
ne 8 - odd word!
Ne8 - not word!
I agree Molly
:)
I can't find it in Enable nor in my dictionaries here (I Had to look!)
I don't see the ne 8
er 6 / 7 pls?
It's one of those words that the old guys in shorts, black socks and sandals (aka Enable guys) made up when they were not researching foreign currency and seldom heard of animals.
nm
er + portal to the yard or garden and pl
ty anyway - suddenly remembered it!
I am ne4 the bar...I am ne4ly to the bar...make that more of
clue for the ne8?
or closer to?
Or n + not later
wow, no kidding weird word
wow
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!!
Hi Min! How are you?
Hi Min :)
Good evening to you, fellow Babble player.
I am well.Happy it's Friday.I got home late every day this week. I am exhausted!
Gramma coined a new word in chat this week. Exhaustipated. Too tired to give a shit. : D
Great word!
Put your feet up and join in the chog; Min. You deserve some relaxation and fun
I know Liz, it's a keeper. : )
hi min
Cute, Molly. I'll have to remember that! :-)
oof. tired and hungry. think i'm going to be bad tonight and order a pizza
It is not "bad" to order pizza.
pipping, ordering a pizza isn't bad; it's the eating the whole thing at once that is bad (so you better share it here, okay?
Enjoy your evening pipping :)
okay, what toppings do you life?
er, like
also, i guess we're eating pizza in the pb, or at least i am
green pepper, Canadian Bacon and pineapples!
Sorry, I'm working on eliminating the self-depreciating words women use about food.
here we just order bacon cause we already know we have the best!!:)
You can have that WHOLE pizza all to yourself Nef.
no, it's a good project, molly, important
yeah, um, nef, you're gonna have to get your own pizza
Yes, but what they call Canadian bacon here isn't really Canadian.
And I'm trying to view food as a healthy part of li**, not a No No. It makes a difference in my eating patterns and the way I see myself
we do not have to differentiate tween canadian bacon and whatever it is you eat down there:))
i know, molly, what you call canadian bacon we call peameal bacon
Bacon is bacon, when it comes to slaughtering a pig.
really, Crossy? I've never heard that term before
yes,it all oinks
What we call Canadian bacon is really lean ham. I'm still not sure what that peameal stuff is.
okay, if no one likes my suggestion of pizza toppings, how about a margarita pizza (and that isn't alcohol, either)
same thing
those are good
I think the peameal stuff is what we call back bacon.
the pizza you said, nef
here, nef we have a bacon, mushroom and pepperoni pizza which is called a "canadian"
thanks, pipping. those are the only 2 pizzas I like.
i wonder what an "american" pizza would be
probably gross
i like mine with sausage, tomato and broccoli
(I'm not a fan of sausage or pepperoni)
no coment lol
And here I love a pizza - Mullumbimby Madness! Bet none of you has heard of that!
sometime pineapple to go with the sausage
Talk to anyone who has had pizza in Italy. All the pizza we have here is "American".
and fresh mozz on a pizza, or goat cheese, or spinach, those are all great too
Liz, what is that?
it is indeed molly,i have seen true itallian pizza and we would not like it much
Oh man, I am never ordering pizza with you all.
all italian pizza is is cheese and sauce cooked real hot real fast
that sounds good, cross.
It's a veggie one - mushroom, green peppers, onions, garlic, chilli and other stuff!
tomatoes, cheese also
Molly, what do you like for pizza?
yeah, cross, i like that
i mostly eat cheese pizza
but when i go for it, i load up the veg
you had me until you said chili, Liz. What else do they have?
It's only a dash of chilli and they'll make to order, so you can leave it off!
Also includes courgette (zucchini) and black olives.
been forever since i have ordered a pizza;((
crossy does not like olives:((
is that chili powder then (I was imagining the dish we call chili)
I like lots of mozzerlla cheese (not goat cheese), pepperoni, italian sausage and a little bit of onion. Onion is the only vegetable I need on pizza.
thanks to the cluers for the ai word....i did find it!
when the mrs and i shop we hurry by the olive cart you see near the deli in a lot of stores..it stinks
Yes it's veggie! So it's a few chilli flakes. You can leave the olives off, crossy! 66 left - BBL. Enjoy your evenings!
Olives and goat cheese on food are mixing metaphors. They belong on Greek food. Pineapple is a fruit and don't get me started on fruit on pizza.
actually, even though i do not normally care for pineapple, once in a while i find it nice on a pineapple, smoked ham and bacon pizza
Hungry, thanks to fellow babblers's chat. :)
maybe some sun dried tomatos
could i please get clues for the two in 8 words?....driving me crazy!
I'm tampted to eat the 2nd half of my leftover shrimp poboy from lunch. Went to Papa Roux, my favorite hole-in-the-wall Cajun restaruant.
tempted
have to ask you americans..what exactly is a poboy??
I wish we had a good Cajun restaurant around here.
don't have the penquis
them
sorry, pen. I don't have them and haven't listed (but am now looking for them
A Po Boy is a sub sandwich, made with good French bread. Usually has seafood or good sausage on it.
found the first one
It's been in the national news lately. He hired a young man who was walking in frigid weather to a job inteview miles away and stopped to ask directions. Great guy. The place is crazy busy now.
ahh a submarine samich? a gyro?
Yeah, a sub, but with a Louisana flair.
Not a gyro though.
ahh,ok,so a sub with hot stuff poured onto it
usually it has fried seafood...like shrimp or oysters
og,got it:)
Gyros are on pi4 bread.
lava mayonaise sauce with slaw added
ok,so not pita pockets
May I please have a clue for ri8-50? Thanks
crossy, you said a Word! ;-)
okay, pizza ordered
thanks crossy
pasta, peach
lava sauce = spicy mayonnaise
Thanks much, Nef and Molly.
my bad..off to the pb i go
i have never been a fan of super hot sauces,spices..all it does for me is to mask the flavour of the food
have i mentioned how much i hate re words?
Papa Roux's has just a touch of spice unless you ask for more heat
there are fresh baked (well, ea7 today, that is) cookies and Baileys and even some dark choclits in there, cross (I restocked when I left)
crossy hates vowel words
you mean like all words containing vowels? ;)
i will have a cookie, but crossy likes salty snax vs sweet snax
(opposate of later, cross)
i mean all words that start with a vowel
DH made craisin oatmeal cookies today while I was getting a haircut.
i like to combine the salty and sweet
One thing I love about the good ole USA is the diversity of ethnic food we have here. Not the same old meat and potatoes everywhere you go.
got salt water taffy today that is sea salt and caramel - my favorite!
okay, down to 20, i can do this!
though i do love that cajun snack mix with the sweet and salty bugler corn mix
You are so right, Molly. I was trying to think of an "American" dish today and decided meat balls and gravy with potatoes. Anyone have a different idea?
ever had zapp's potato chips in their voodoo flavor? it is amazing
roast beef, with mashed tatties and mashed carrots and turnip
Those Zapps chips are goooood Pip.
i of course would add yorkie pudds
A Minnesota dish is "Hot Dish!"
I agree crossy. I do love Yorkshire pudding.
Hot dish?
(that's what we call all casseroles)
spretz
i make a killer yorkie pudding.just like my da taught me
"secret is to preheat the pans and to use bacon fat
Ta 5/10 Tot Hot Dish; mac and cheese hot dish, etc.
Oh, yes casseroles. I don't make many actual casseroles but I had a friend from Wisconsin who made them regularly.
Of course, that would be a British meal. All American? I think we corner the market on barbecue anything, hush puppies and any fresh vegetable.
i prefer duck fat, it is so great for everything
lol,you americans will deep fry anything
molly, how about some classic sould food?
But who has duck fat?
British meal meaning the roast beef, potatoes and Yorkshire.
green bean casserole, barbecue, collard greens
what i would love to try is a real authentic down south seafood boil
Yes Pip, anything soul food.
Lutefiske?
tr8?
Be careful. Once you eat seafood caught in the Gulf, you will be ruined for life. : D
i have duck fat! i got it from roasting a duck, but you can also buy it rendered and not in pints
My grandmother made such nice green beans with onion and ham pieces.
Oh. Thanks pippin.
we do not cook duck.i find duck and goose too oily
Nef! Lutefiske is Norwegian. Do you have Krum Kakes for dessert with that?
sorry Shirloc, looking for it now
my mom makes the best krumkake
I agree about duck and goose. I don't like my meat swimming in grease.
if you cook the bird slowly you render the fat out of it and then it's not in the meat
Actually, Lutefiske is both Norwegian and Swedish; The Swedish form is with a white gravy whereas the Norwegian is a butter oily type. And yes, we make Krumm akkes too
tr8...three prefix + most of camping dwelling + two letter plural
Krumkakas
Nef, I will take cod fresh and fried in a pan, but that pickled stuff is not for me. : D
don't worry, Molly, I don't eat the Lutefiske. That was DH's ethnic food, not mine.
I'm not much on the Norwegian stuff. Although I do make a soup that is a variation on lobskaus.
i can make you all a nice shore lunch if you want fish..fresh caught pickerell, with a light spiced flour coating cooked in butter with diced mini red taters and some steam corn done in foil with a dab of butter and herbs in the pouch
Never had pickerell, but fresh flounder, stuffed with shrimp is pretty good.
Never had pickerell, but fresh flounder, stuffed with shrimp is pretty good.
When I was in high school I worked in the local nursing home as an aide. I walked to work and there was a bridge about 3 blocks from the nursing home. Crossing that bridge I'd get hit in the face with that smell of the Norwegian Lutefiske. I was surprised that DH's Grandmother made it; but there wasn't an odor to it
flounder is nice:))
Sorry for the double double post post.
pickerall= walleye a nice game fish
is Pickerel the same as what we call Northern Pike?
no,nef,you call it walleye
can i get a clue on the tr8?
i know it just got clued but i didn't get it
Goodnight all.
gn stidmere
tri + end of the camping dwelling word +vowel +pl letter
tr + vowel + a camping dwelling is a t*** + two letter plural
nm, found it
word lists are helpful when you have limited time!
good night stidg
pike is a much longer lean body type fish with a lot of tiny bones
See Nef, all that typing and she pulled a Peri.
i have no patience to prepare pike, but my godmother is first nation and makes the most amazing battered pike cakes
she will spend hours picking bones
Okay, crossy. I was reading a MN history book and the pioneers came to MN they caught lots of pickerel; so I was trying to figure out what it was.
My Uncle who raised me would go fishing and he'd throw the northerns out and only keep walleyes.
pickerell is a lovely game fish.a bit "gamey for most,if tupela(sp) is your speed then do not bother
yes,he would toss northerns as they are a ton of work,pickerells9walleyes) are best
one left, the fi10
i suspect it's a mouthful
(we grew up eating lots of walleyes; it was my AUnts' favorite food. Sh always ordered walleye whenever she ate out)
ugh, and it was such an easy one, what an anticlimax
pipping, it's a type of water treatment (related to the fi9)
wd pipping
YAY, pippingeek!!! WTG!!!
now, to wait with bated breath for my pizza
nom nom nom drool
hello friends
what type did you order, pipping?
hello again :)
Hi Trifioso!
i got a hawaiian bbq chicken, and i customized it so it has chicken, pineapple, sausage, 3-cheese blend, and tomatoes
Hello smores! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
Im getting so sleepy, but I would like to at least hit halfway....
Hello friend
hello molly, min, pippin, nef, smores
and everyone else!
Hi again, smokes.
molly, your icon is ADORABLE
smores. Dang! I can't type anymore! Maybe that's why I still have 140 words left to find!
lol...Hi Nef...babbling on your tablet?
:)
Hi Trifioso! How are you doing? Welcome to the chog.
I thought I was "auto corrected" smores comes out as either snores or smokes :)
no, smores, it's a regular computer (same keyboard and everything). Just losing ability to type.
big news, molly...girls are leaving tomorrow for vacation week with their dad....the first time they are actually GOING somewhere (florida)
Trifi, where is that staircase on your icon? I love it!
I don't know, nef...I think I swiped it off the "beautiful design" site. Isn't it great??? someday
Well what do you know, he is actually breaking the bank to take them on a trip? : D
okay kids, pizza is here, time to eat and study!
only partly - they are staying with his husband's relatives -- god forBID he should spring for a hotel!
sure beats creepy images .com trifi
Bye pippin...enjoy :)
enjoy, pipping!
its a good thing. We definitely need a break from each other
Oh (she said, dripping with sarcasm) what happy family times that will evoke.
Yes Ru, or that cartoon site we are not allowed to mention.
not so much, molly - they are staying in an over 55 gated community, no where near a beach. Fun for teenage girls!
Which is why my comment was dripping with sarcasm.
i know, I know....hey, I told them to be grateful and happy he is taking them SOMEWHERE
Trifi, this may be very good for them. The girls may find that they have it pretty nice with you.
Oh how Irish of you. Ma: You girls just be happy he is taking you somewhere. Even it it is too Seniorville USA.
Will they be playing golf? Bingo? Shuffleboard?
hahaha molly, and thanks nef. I agree. I do want them to have fun though - it's their vacation too!
and I get to play house with my beau, at least a little. what's not to love?
how long will they be gone, Trifi?
10 days
AHA! Naughty times for Mom while the girls are away. No wonder she's so "happy".
quite long enough for them to get a good taste of that.
of course I made myself a to do list that the king of egypt couldnt complete, even with 10000 hebrew slaves
indeed
molly, you crack me up...
Sorry, but I am laughing my ass off. I know what is going to get "done" while they are gone. And it's nothing on that list.
LOL! Did you write down (on your list) 1 day to just SIT???
molly, I won't be seeing him everyday, so things WILL get done! Plus I have to work like CRAZY, being it's vacation week.
and no, nef, no just sitting. This is a good chance for me to chuck all KINDS of stuff. Cat's away, mouse playing, as it were
goodwill is about to have a VERY good week
can i get a clue for the pi 10 word please?
Ten days...no kids...the house to yourself with the object of your lust... and you are going to, um, do chores? There needs to be some sort of intervention here.
I really think it's important to have 1 day to yourself, Trifi. If chucking stuff is what you want to do; that's fine; but don't forget to find some time to rest too.
clue on the first se 7.32 please
molly! As I said, he won't be here all the time!
I do have to let him up for food and re4, occassionally
pen, the pi 10 is the dumb bird with a stone type ending
Oh and (dripping with sarcasm again) how happy the "children" will be when they come home and find all their stuff given away. : D
they never even notice, molly. never. not once. they just notice the house looks clean
I don't have it ru bus am looking for it now

I learned an interesting factoid today about cinderella - in the original story, the slipper is made of fur. The translator made a mistake translated the french word VAIR for fur, into VERRE for glass. and so it goes, to this day
hullo, all
thanks ruru.

I've kinder Monday and then nothing scheduled for the rest of the year - we'll see how it goes.
Hi stid..how are you doing?
:-) I had an emergency call from one of my fav schools today and so I got to teach for three hours today unexpectedly. I had fun.
lol, have been called flossy quite often
hey pida, surviving. you?
glad to hear that!
ditto
better than nuthin' I guess. :-) I keep thinking Spring has to show up one of these days...
lol stid, I won't mention the snow, etc that someone said earlier is heading our way
it's been in the 80's all day today, and expecting rain tonight. Spring has sprung
80s sounds nice. we didn't break 60 today I don't think and it started raining mid-afternoon so it's pretty gloomy now.
I do NOT want to hear about snow flosey!
we didn't have any snow all winter for goodness sake

true, but now that it is April and well past Tom's bday it's time to warm up. I have baby artichokes already in the garden, and lettuces and such. Need to have some extended dry weather so I can start working the soil a little!
How's your house rebuild coming along, stid? Hope your recovery wasn't too bad.....
no rebuilding yet, and the quote that came back seems really low... I need to SEE the numbers and how the calculations were made before I decide what to do next. Still have to find out when and how to take the old one down.
It
It's going to be a long while, I think, pida
Finally got my last word. Been at it for hours today.
YAY pida!!!!
Congratulations pida 1 on your fireworks! Good for U!
stid, will they take the entire house down? is there a cellar that might remain?
wtg Pida
thanx all.
o
no cellar/basement, flosey, and yes the entire thing has to be removed.
hey min! welcome to the grid!
Hi stidmama! How are you doing? How was your week
ah, so totally new - will be lovely when completed
Min, I am so happy I had a call to sub (emergency for one of the teacher I could step in at any time...) today! Got 3 hours in, and that pays for the gas to get there.
Maybe flosey... we'll see. :-)
I was hoping to have enough for a "stick built" but we might have to replace with another modular unit.
Min, I wish I had looked at your bio for clues. It might not have taken me so long to finish.
at least you won't have to put up with the smell of smoke on damp days
yes, nor mildew... everything is so soggy in what's left of the house now... we are going to try one more time tomorrow to rescue anything that is left worth saving.
can anyone give me a clue for the cr 7/32 word?
plural the "making" cr 6
