Hi all :)

Hi Peach and Flosey :)
Hi there, flosey.
isn't it annoying when it takes forever to monkey a 4 letter word
LOL - that often happens to me!
Love your tanager - beautiful!
thanks Liz, would love to see one for real

I dont know if its me this morn or if its the grid--just cant get into it
I have a quick 51
in 6 minutes
I only been here a short time
but, unfortunately I rarely get beyond half
same here---I got 94 to go right now
95 lol
but for e, the first half is the most fun
thats true--plus I enjoy coming to enjoy the chat--(this morn dont seem to be too many on)
just us pups!
guess so!
My day is going to be spent mowing as soon as its dry enough to do so
I planted a lot of stuff last week and then we had a horrible storm on the weekend and I don't know what survived
the locals say wait 'til 1 May, but I was too smart for that lol
ahh! I hope your work wasent for nothing
I put 12 little geraniums into the ground as well as 12 verbena and some other, taller purple plant
If they don't die, and it even gets warm again, I'll know what happened
Mother nature can be quiet a nightmare sometimes
ever*
we get very strange windstorms through this valley. They sound like freight trains and are horrid
here its warm a day or two then it drop very low. One day we are wearing shorts the next day winter coats--lol
here, too
I am very tired of this long winter
I think alot of us has got the spring fever! I got some flowers pushing through and I hope this cold spell dont zap the poor things
do you know allium? I have many in one spot but last year Ruffino cut them all down as well as the iris
I had one out of about 25-30 and no iris
I got lilac trees just starting to bud and Im afraid for them--I just love their smell----------no, no allium but I do have alot of iris
my husband gave me a tiny lila a couple of years ago. It is about my height now (5 ft) and has some buds, but it is very slow-growing
but the cherry tree has flowers and everything else looks OK
one of the plums is mostly dead, though, but it was dying last year and didn't get any fruit
I got a chinese flowering cherry tree and its just covered with white flowers
does it get fruit or is it decortive?
decorAtive*
no its not a fruit tree
we have a false peach like that; it gets covered with big pink frlowers and then, nothing happens
I really love the outdoors--not too good when it comes to houseplants--wish I was
when it comes to houseplants I would kill a plastic plant-lol
I just love anything growing, but this is my first garden and I have a lot to learn
nacrid
Iam sure you will be just fine
whoops but not a word anyway
67 left and have to make husband his lunch

jusy a quick look at the grid before being off to be with grandkids for the day - BBL

hi Dawg
evening, Lynxxx
Hi all :)
hi Liz
hi Liz
hello everyone
Hi Annie :)
hiya Annie
hi AnnieB - lovely to see you
There is a pear called a comice pear. Enable wont take it.
it won't take roma either - as in tomatoes
lynxxx, I am still trying to get up enough nerve to ask Mom to use her paypal account on my behalf. I have another solution...if you have Lickety's address would you send it to me at astern@aol.com
fussy
I like comice pears! I guess it's a proper noun! Though sometimes that makes no difference!
hi Liz and dawg
Sorry Annie - don't know his address - in fact don't even know his real surname
Thanks, lynxxx...will look into paypal
I am sure Mom would love to do it for you - she is such a sweetheart
lickety's address is on the clues page, annie
I know she is
dawg, I need his actual address
oh, sorry. although you might be able to ask for it thru his email addy
lynxxx, Mom send money in my behalf when we were collecting monies for Jellen
dawg, I want to send him a check for the trouble he goes to for putting up the clues everyday (the same as we sent DrG)
that brings back memories - I am glad she is finding happiness again
i know his first name is mark.. mb we can find him on fb thru mrp.
Does Jellen have a new man in her life? That would be so nice for her.
The problem with sending him a check is that it would probably cost him $15 to get it processed Annie
Oh dear
I am not sure of their relationship Ivesy - and I feel they both like to guard their privacy so I wouldn't be pressing the point
Let no good deed go unpunished (LOL)
I dont think asking mrp is a good idea. I believe they are separated.
ok.. just a thought. wasnt meaning to ask mrp. i have her on fb. would never invade her privacy.but he is on fb. doesnt give any info really though
thanks, tho, ives
mb u could send him private message on fb . annie, if u want
I am not on FB..either I get onto paypal or ask dear Mom to do if for me. Just have to get up the nerve
ok, understand
I still want comice

Annie, I gave some funds to , Lickety through paypal recently..it is a very simple process.
Think i kiled the chog..sorry.
zooz, I will use paypal
no zooz, you didnt...I was getting a cup of coffee out in the kitchen
I pay for a lot of things with paypal..so simple to use.
No wonder my music collection is getting vast..lol
I dont pay bill thru the Internet..It kinda scares me
but Amazon is my best friend..I use my credit card
Well touch wood..i have not had any truoble so far..but you are right to be concerned..there is a lot of cyber crime out there.
Trouble*
Banks here are verty good at covering any fraud...I assume it is everywhere. Not that I have ever had any issues
the same here,lynxxx.

I asked about you the other day and zooz said he saw you.
Yes, I have been neglecting Babble except for when I eat my breakfast
typing has been difficult the last 10 days. I managed to cut my ring finger of my right hand had needed 6 stitches. I didn't realize how much you use that finger to type. But the stitches come out today :-)
hello everybody
oh my! that sounds so painful!
((Ruby)) good afternoon
Eeek. No more surgeries. You and your sweetie have had enough.
hi Ruby
((ruby)) How does your garden grow?

<---- is very glad she is left handed
hi ruby
I'm left handed also

hi smores and Une
mine, too, and raising husband's
very funny, ruby
*left hand up*
what with all these lefties? is it a wordy thing?
:-) TO
did you know that 40% of artists are left-handed and that includes Leonardo and Michelangelo?
my grandfather was ambidextrous -- won golf competitions with both!
interesting ruby
that is neat, Une
wow Ruby
in my large, extended family (9 sets of cousins, the second-born in each family was a leftie
back in a mo . . .
Yes ruby, pretty high percentage
lol...that's funny :)
probably not statistically significant, but still.....
I hate to leave good company but I have ironing to do, Mad Men to watch while I iron and maybe even watch Mr. Selfridge again.
very cool about your grandfather Une
((Hugs)) to all of you
bye Mom, enjoy the ironing
ironing and MadMen - good combo - bye Mom
When I lived alone, I used to do my i roning in front of the TV; it made it painless
Bye Mom....enjoy your day :)
((Annie)) I will. I look forward to your email.
Ruby, that is the only way to iron.
bye bye Smores, I will. You too
{{gentle hug to mom}}
((Ruby)) thanks
hi ruby, have a new foster Bichon, Ben
in desperation,e I gave the new puppy a haircut yesterday as she was starting to look like a monster with her wet chest
bye, mom
{{bichon}} how is he getting along with M and P|?
hi bichon
ruby, the web says that handedness runs in families
bye everyone
Hi Bichon ) that's nice....are your dogs okay with it?
Morning TO :)
the question of handedness has always been intereting to me. My husband, who was a brilliant student, was told he would never graduate from high school if he didn't switch to his right hand
bye lynxxx
{{lynxx}}
Bye Lynxxx....enjoy your day :)
I still remember getting hit on my left hand in school
Ben and M&P are still figuring that out, but it's not too bad
I had a teacher try to make me switch...my mom put a quick stop to that :)
I used to get yelled at in sewing class (remember sewing and home ec?)
I do ruby
wow Annie, thats terrible
bye lyn hi smores
that's what the nuns did in the local parochial school. There was no hitting in PS109!
I remember ruby...although I was the 1st in my school to take shop class instead :)
smores: early feminist!
there was in PS 33
I did take sewing....but not home ec
http://tinyurl.com/cdxnwkb
my sister, who is older, used to tell stories of dumping oatmeal out the window of her home ec class
it's probably still stuck to the side of the building
lol
at one time switching was the thing to do
In our Home Ec, we made chocolate pudding from scratch, it was Delicious!
and it is so easy!
my wonderful vet who is in her early 50's was forced to switch as a child and still feels pangs about it, thinks it squelched her creativity
I've heard stories of that ruby...luck my mom intervened so I wasn't forced to change
she loves to Watch mer write
what do the two 8's start with please? xxx
absolutely!
<-- no 8's, no 7's but I'd rather see my babble friends
not sure worzel...barely looked at the grid...lol
ok ty xxx
what grid?
hahah
lol
there is a grid?
picture the group of us in a 7th grade classroom; the teacher would have jumped out of the window
this is the type of board where yo can look and look and all of a sudden a word jumps out at you. it's going to be a long babble day
Hi, all! Hey, I'm not only incredibly right-handed, I'm also very much right-footed...always lead with the right.
I once lost control of an art class i was teaching (6th graders) and they started throwing styrofoam out of the windows
ruby, what did you do?
hiya mimi
hi all
Hi Mimi
what could I do? I just stood there laughing
hi mael
{ruby}
ruby, good response, good for you
{Annie}
I'm not a "yeller"
Uh oh, have to go take care of husband. See you later, kids
just read part of the link you posted TO...interesting

bye ruby
Bye ruby dear {hugs}
Hey Mimi, mael :)
{smores}
haha - laughing at myself - i keep 'finding Nemo' which isnt permitted lmao!!!
{Mimi}
lol...worzel
Worzel...did you hear they're finally doing the sequel of Nemo----Ellen Degeneres is happy.
okay, gonna work on the grid a bit
i've never seen finding nemo and i'm sure that was a joke about ellen degeneres. Go on then, who's gonna explain it to me?
No joke...she was the voice of one of the characters in that first one and has always hinted on her show that they should do a sequel....and now they are.
Be back later, thanks for the info, Mimi
oh fair enough - i had ALL sorts of things going on in my head - which is exactly where they're gonna stay, for the sake of decency!!!
Bye for now Annie :)
:D worzel
Bye Annie!
bye, annie
I get 'ya, worzel....I try not to spend a lot of time in my own head....gets pretty gnarly in there!
By jove Mimi you should try and spend time in MY head - then again, maybe not . . .
I always say my head is a good place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there!
My head's like North Korea - everyone's curious, but no-one's got the nerve to visit!
LOL.
back for a minute. Just called the vet my beautiful Ruffino has just opened a huge hot spot on his flank, just like last year, only this tie we have tons of company coming! Oy veh, whatever that means
hello babblers. I think it means 'woe me', ruby
Think stress causes him to do that, ruby?
{{sprite}}
I was kidding, sprite. How are you?
It seems seasonal, since it was last spring, too
Maybe an allergy?
maybe he has "rose fever"
*hugs Mimi and ruby* Yeah, am good. Dusted, laundry, dishes, sink, stove. Am happy with myself.
it's too bad because he was looking magnificent and my son is coming and has never met Rufie
My allergies are making me nuts right now. Can't breathe well and sneezing like crazy even though taking antihistamines. I miss snow......
I tried cornstartch (recommended in chow books0 but it just makes a mess and he licks it right off
Wow, sprite...don't wear yourself totally out! Was just about to leave Babble and reply to your em....
aww..poor Rufie
If it's hayfever or related I drink carrot juice and it is really really helpful. Just thought you'd like to know xxx
yeah, went to the limit today. Not over it though... and am stopping now :) Looking forward to reading your em.

If the oceans were to gradually rise, Florida (350 feet above sea level at its highest point) would become the first U.S. state to be completely submerged.
well.. i'm never going to Florida again anyway
too close to gitmo anyways
i can't take the humidity
i can't take the BCs
my mrs went down there one february to visit her parents as they were doing the snowbird thing at the time and even then she says it was very warm
BC?
was going to ask the same,ru
what are BC's hursh?
HI folks - the suspense is killing me...lol!
ruru - glad to see our friend Jessie is with us today
yeah.. just a warning that the fakers are due to show up again in some other form
fakers???
uh river.. you didn't know.. the whole nancy boy thing was a fake.
he never existed
what???
this picture is of a famous japanese actor jun Masimoto
some evil people created the persona to play here and work over people for some unknown reason
when did this become known
about 6 months ago I think.. a while now
I guess I must play at the wrong times as this is the first I have heard of it....how was it found out?
much evil to be had in the chog ; )
????
sorry BC's are Bad Creatures

many poisonous snakes
hello jeff, shouting is probably good, gets it off your chest
ohhh ,snakes...
*shiver*
always have to check the pool before getting in...they even getting into the enclosed pools which most folks have because of snakes, lizards and alligators
i even dislike the word, hence i call them BC's
we have snakes here,do not need to go to florida to look at them
<--likes snakes but not poisonous ones
y?
we have snakes here too but not poisonous ones....need those garden snakes to eat the bugs and moles
and my "pet" mouse, Mr. Jingles died today

he was so cute, Brown with white underneath
oh no for the hot spot....my shephard from many years ago used to get those. My labs never have.
poor mr jingles:(
what got Mr Jingles
what did you do for them river. The chow book says cornstarch and the vet treated themm by shaving and giving antibiotics and steroids (bad bad). The cornstarch just makes a mess
I think he had nothing to eat and did't have the sense to go outside
I cant remember, its been so long...I am sure we must have gotten some salve from the vet
didn't have the sense to go find something to eat!!
I felt so smart, taold the vet about cornstartch and then it doesn't work
do you use the cornstarch to make a paste?
I think we have lot of mice outside because of my husband's liberal distribution of sunflower seeds
wiht my mrs it is spiders she hates.as a child she was sleeping one night and had one fall on her face from the ceiling
yi4 kje
greetings
it made an instant paste with Rufie's saliva, but he just licked it off
clue for mo 8
hello jane
I should get back to work - I still cant believe the whole Jessie thing was a ruse....so sad....have a great day everyone
I also like spiders, especially since there are no poisonous ones here
you sould of put a cone on him, then he could ot reach the cornstarced hot spot
{{river}}
that's what the vet wants to do, but I couldn't bear the thought
He is such a beautiful dog
Hugs to all
since Ruby died, he has grown into a magnificent adult male
and loves Baby Sister
cone will not hurt him,he will just look like a old time victrola for a week or so
"his master\s voice"
and when he eats wearing one of those, the other dog cannot steal his food:)
phantom: ca**teria
hello all - ruby we used to use a mixture of mercurochrome and merthiolate for hot spots on dogs - not sure if it is still available
you should shave the spot and get him on pred and use gold bond powder on it and put a cone on him ruby
are there any py words?
was it OK if they licked it?
that is another good one ru
Ruby - My mother's cure for hotspots was a salve made of sublimated sulphur (drugstore) and vaseline.
Tastes awful
must have been ruby - none of them were ill from it
if he keeps licking it .. it will become infected
cone time
I will look for gold bond powder but Wonder what the FR equivalent is
acete
thank yu, all, for your dog advice
oops sorry
there were ladies on babble ages ago who referred to a a cone as "the cone of shame" dogs always look so miserable when they are wearing a cone
in the end of course always consult with your vet
I agree with that, hurshy
we also call it th cone of shame.we use it on our alpha kitty when he becomes too rough with the others.slows him right down
she'll make a house call either tonight or tomorrow. She loves my dogs
stilll need clue for mo 8
all the chows she knew in the past were nasty and ours are as sweet as could be

Am I living in the maelstrom?
we are all in the eye of the tempest
excuse me, mael, that is oneof the few English words from the Norse
I am starving, didn't eat lunch

I take care of the starving hordes, but forget to eat
pick two nights a week where the starving hordes fend for themselves
falling on floor!

Bounce all over Kate
hi hi hi herin!!!! big hugs to you :)

ah well, pcal2 -- all's well that -- ends!
found the ti7, thx ruru
If you give away half of the word, do you go halfway to the PB? Put one foot in? Questions, questions.
top half, so you can eat the goodies. Unless you've given away the bottom half of the word.
half the clues almost spell it out for the tough ones anyways, molly so it does not matter much
what if you clue the middle of the word/ hmmm?
@leaving--just gave a writing tutorial now have to unplug a toilet. So ave atque vale. (Dealing with bottom half of the penalty box I guess.)
:) @ roundbarn
my son once flushed a pair of underwear down the toilet when he was young.what a disaster!
i actually had to pull the entire toilet off the base, reach in fro below and pull the wedged in mass of material out
I'll leave on how badly we need an r.
now that was a fun relaxing saturday evening
sounds like a job for super-plumber crossy
crossy hates plumbing
thanks for those details crossy--I'm off with my borrowed snake
lol,roundbarn
we have an R. are you being greedy?
but i learned just enough about it so as not to have to hire someone at 55 dollars an hour to do it for me
i wonder why ae6 is a word but the corresponding eo5 isn't
ok we have an r--how about an h, what birds do, to go with the r? I'm still off to unwanted work.
ty for ae 6,hursh
Hi Gang
hi hego :))
hi kate
just getting started?
yup
did you have a good weekend? we finally got a bit of sun, now just waiting for a little more warmth ;)
it was quiet. didn't do much, but nice weather.
good to just relax and re-charge the batteries once in a while. gonna take 5, bbs
bye
{{hego}}
Hi Ruby dear.
{{Kate}|}
How are the pups?
We get tantalizing hints of spring and then it's back to cold and nasty
same here
Rufie has a new andenormous hot spot. I wish I knew what caused them
{{((ruby))}} you came back... are you finished being a short order cook for the household ;)
poor baby
yes! Dinners are a nussance, but my asparagus were wonderful. One buys ready-made hollandaise sauce here inlittle boxes and it's superb
we all eat different stuff
that's a pain
as long as no one complains --then i go on strike
lol. good for you!
fortunately, husband is always grateful.
mmmm hollandaise & asparagus :) poor little rufie, is it something that will be outgrown with time?
asparagus with morel mushrooms, hollandaise and a pached egg yolks on top. How wonderful is that?
gratitude helps
sounds good Ruby
or evenn poached* And little Rufie now weighs about 80 lbs
I never thought I would like white asparagus, but they are wonderful
I like them
my mother never made fresh asparagus when I was Young, so i thought I hated them.
<------ wishes to invite herself to ruby's for dinner :)
of course, if you put hollandaise o n your shoe, it would probably be delicious, too
my mother never served mushrooms of any ilk, hence i can't stand them, unfortunately :(
do yoou prefer husband's spicy chicken pasta or my fancy asparagus, Kate?
may i have a bit of both please?
i USED TO HUNT AND EAT WILD MUSHROOMS BUT ONCE MADE A MISTAKE AND WOUND UP IN HOSPITAL. sINCE THEN, i CONLY EAT THE LITTL WHITE ONES, FRESH CHANtrelles (if I pick them) or dried morels.
but if i have to choose, it wuld be the asparagus - something i never get enough of :)
the spicy chicken is over the top
all sounds yummy!
what sort of spices? always looking for new ideas..
just get here, Kate, and they're yours. They're in season for another month or two
Matter of semantics, if you've never eaten something, it makes no sense to say "you don't like it". You don't like something that you HAVE eaten and don't like the taste of. Semantics over.
perhaps i can save my pennies for next spring... gotta check my airmiles
husband likes very hot food and the idea for his spicy chicken came to me in a dream -- I cook the chicken legs in olive oïl, then add hot dried red Pepper, oregano and salt, then a can of italian tomatoes and a chopped onion and some dried garlic. It cooks for a couple of hours and then I serve it over fusilli.
Sounds good, minus the hot peppers.
<drooling all over keyboard>
great dream Ruby
You actually dreamed that up!
Hi Molly
it is so spicy that it makes my eyes water when I cook it and our old boy, Rufus, would run out of the house
that's hot!!
my son called it "gratuitously spicy" -- pretentious or what? lol
accurate, I'd say.
as he is arriving on Thursday with his vegetarian (strict) wife, I'm making couscous with the meats cooked separately, humus, baba ganoush and tabouli
tomorrow I go to the halaal butcher for the lamb and merguez
are you preparing a full menu for their perusal ruby? perhaps there is a raw food or vegan person coming as well
I used to be a cook, not much any more but for my son -- sky's the limit
I would have to shoot myself....
nice that you still spoil him when he's home. no need to shoot yourself . what kind of cooking did youdo?
fortunately, DIL doesn't make a fuss and would be happy with bread and cheese. I just go out of my way for her to please my boy
My biggest meal was an Indian buffet for 12 including homemade breads and desserts
I was a lot younger
whoops
must go. i'm hungry now. lol
my best dish is gazpacho
chog has hiccups from alll th4e food chat :)
hahah hego
making me hungry too, but i will carrry on with this grid
there isn't any place in this small town to get indian food... sometimes i really get a craving for a good curry
if it was up to me, I would just eat eggs and bread
I used to make lamb curry, vegetables vindaloo, khire ka raita, gulaab jaman, etc etc and my own puris
ah, you are in the land of really excellent local breads :)... and cheese, and wine... i could almost live on that myself
it is too much work for this old gal
you must have me for a lamb curry! (really craving now)
but the local restaurants, except for the two very fancy ones, are awful because the meat is of poor quality and they tend to put cheese on all the vegetables
in my previous iife, I was a faculty wife, thus learned to cook
so, i guess you don't dine out very often then... hard to believe quality is that poor :(
hi ruby, Kat
bichon! welcome home :)
we eat lunch out 5 days a week but the food is poor to awful, I just haven't the strength to do 3 meals a day
{{bichon and ben}}
I didn't know I was away.
bread brie and salad 7 days a week for lunch?
But, Ben is a temporary addition to my Bichon family
how old is he?
we go to the local Italian and it's not any good except when he bakes his own bread
8, but you wouldn't know it. He was given up by his owner because she had to leave him home alone 12 hours a day and he was doing naughty things
You eat out in France, and it isn't good?
you are dashing all my conceptions of france ruby. haven't been there since i was a little girl
I'll bet he's happy at your house!
this is a bad corner of France for food, but the scenery makes up for it
what kind of (dog?) is ben?
ing to England 5/29, so he will have to go to a different foster or be adopted
Same as my other two, a Bichon
oooh, going on holiday! where in england, how long details required :)
We are going to th Cotwolds and will be gone from home for two weeks. We'll be walking from town to town and perhaps visit Oxford and Bath
what a lovely trip!
you betcha. Something we've wanted to do for years
I've never been in the Cotswolds but I've heard they are beautiful
Deli.ghtful
sounds fantastic bichon! i hope you take lots of pictures and post them so we can share your tramp through the fair isle :))
I will take lots of pictures and videos
and the food is so much better than here
I'll put the videos on YouTube
the food in Britain is better than in France, seriously ruby?
i'm looking forward to it already!
clue for the ic 6, pls

he cometh.....
(ic6)
the ic 6/24 cometh

ty kate, didn't have that
mo 7/8, pls
thanks bichon, i was trying to get something using amie, of aime... no wonder i couldn't get it...not lover just love
all you need is love....
the mo 7 & 8 are not combos. clue for the mo 8 instead
the mo 8/50 may not be a combo, it is most of cash and "ode to a gre**** urn"
beginning of currency + musi****

bye bichon
and good night, kate, better be moseying on
bye bichon, gonna take 5 here too. brb
hi, nbt, bye 8-)
hi and bye gwen :)
bichon, if you come back to chats--I'm going to England nes Monday till May 14. Home base in Dorset, freinds' farm. We'll go to the Cotswolds, I have two special places to see. I have lived in England, my Eldest born there, and I've taken 8 lit classes (24 each--we had a coach)--and we did unusual things like climb Watership Down with Richard adams. You will love the cotswolds and their sunny brock. Don't miss whitehorse hill and the Cerne giant.
please somebody tell bichon when she comes back. sorry my mispellings. the tear I lived there was in Oxford.
will pass the message on for sure round barn :) i 'm sure she will be glad of the info.
perhaps you two might want to e-mail each other?A
my dreaded cat sound is in here ;)
EM 5/14 ?
the master of ceremonies?
THANKS... HAD A BLIND SPOT.................. damned thing keeps recurring
happens to meall the time ;)
do you have the first mo 7/40? (follows the pain noise)
SMom, I laughed and thought of your granddaughter yesterday when I saw PARP in the grid. : D
heh heh
this is a sneaky grid...
agreed TO, how are you today? we might need to open the bar in order to finish ;)
i am sleeeeepy
didn't sleep well last night? love your icon today :)
my sleep is off, late nights. and i thin these cheapo reading glasses are giving me eyestrain. how are you?
I can relate to the sentiment in your icon, TO. I have that feeling a lot. : )
:)
my sleep cycle is out of kilter as well, but thankfully, returning to normal, albeit, very slowly. .. are you getting a lot of headaches from your eyes?
some
hello everyone :)
hi nan :)
does anyone have the first mo 7/40? i am really stuck on it.. i may be forced to check word lists :(
m + not off + caustic liquid
ty
ti to go see if i can start the lawnmower, bbl
either I'm getting more senile or these grids are getting tougher
ty molly, new one for me!
It seems the amount of unheard of words climbs daily.
seems tough to me as well nan, maybe it's a monday thing...
ca 6, please?
lol, the only ca word i don't have... not sure if it's a combo with the ca 5/14 before it...monkey broken on that one!
c + first two vowels + middle three of not man
ty molly
ty molls :)
and the ca 5/14 following abel's brother?
rhymes with scottish land owner?
Same first three as the brother and last two of not soft
ty again, molly
and kate
:)
2 to go, babble blind. gonna take 5 before having to beg for hints or troll through interminable lists that make me cross-eyed ;)
hiya babblers
en 7, please?
taht's my last word nan. looking now
got it!!! fw :)
a clue please?
and grats on the fw
en 7/36 en + co 5/16 (change the last letter to a vowel)

i got a job today1
the interview was a succes!!!! now that deserves REAL CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! tell us about it?
thanks!
i will be working as an eye tech in a glaucoma clinic in NYC, doing eye tests and directing a lot of traffic, both patients and doctors
did you say that it may count as clinic hours or co- op hours or something?
i need clinical hours to get into a Physician Assiatant program, and this would count for that
and does that mean your glasses will be covered by benefits???
i sure hope so, i badly need a new pair
ti 7, please - couldn't decipher ruru's clue
will this job give you enough hours...not sure if it's permanent or a term job for summer..
did you know that they have a computerized machine that just looks at your eyes and tells your prescription? crazy, we live in the future
congrats to pippin on new job
thanks peri!
I did not get the en7clue, I must not have the correct co5
and yes, kate, it's a permanent full time job
peri, the co5 is the funny papers
nan, ruru may have been slightly off... ti 7/36 start with a metal and add most of french for love (not lover)
stats for the lone e pls
stand up co 5/16 is an entertainer
oh I do have that co5
et 4/5
ty Kate was using the wrong vowel at the end
I know what french for love is and I know that it has to start with mr. horton, but the only letters from love left are the ou
ty kate for et5
The French word in question means love affair
permanent full time! wow... you don't see that too often anymore - extra sparklers all around for pippin!!!
nan, not mr horton, the metal cans are made of
ty - got it
well it's a three month probabtion of course, but even so,i'm pretty pleased

bye nan, and congrats :) hi kazzer :)
ty Kazzer and Molls
Deja Mew
hi 0 just a brief visit between Da Vinci Demons and Game of Thrones
the cat sounds make me crazy ;) lol @ molls
is the da vinci one new? i haven't heqard of that one yet
Thank God you didn't say cats make you crazy. You would be stoned at the city limits on this board.
is there more than one cat sound in this grid?
yes we taped it from Fox
molly, i love all furry critters, and the feathered ones as well come to think of it :)
yes, just found another cat sound
hopefully more dragons tonight in GoT
i don't get game of thrones any more where i am .. it's on a very premium channel line-up here :(
we have sky and seem to get everything which is great s0 many lovely shows to watch
is sky very dear over there?
I don't get HBO either. I think they are taking a big hit right now with so many people axing their cable.
it's very premium here too, i mostly watch online after the fact
i have friends who watch it it bars though - once GRRM actually watched at the bar with them!
well we get all the channels, hd and 3d, landline broadband for about £90 a month
there seem to be a lot of good shows lately that aren't easy to access without paying an arm and a leg every month to the cale company :(
Interrupting chat for news from the north. Press conference on CNN now. Terrorist plot to derail Toronto to NY train: http://tinyurl.com/bnox8tg
sky is satellite the cable company here is rubbish - we have had experience of them and wouldnt dream of going back
not again. going to the news
ty welki, i'm going to see now. i was an engineer tn toronto for more years than i care to count
welki, what is up with all the crazies this month?
we also watch Hemlock Grove on Netflix - that isgood
reportedly linked to Al Queda
oooh dear - not again - I will go have a look as well
i think it's ongoing, pip :(
so glad they were caught and arrested before anyone was put in danger
not on the news here, maybe later
bs
the amtrak trains that go new york to toronto go through my town. they cross at buffal into fort erie. still watching the live interview
I parked on Norfolk St.today.
Th famous Norfolk St. Iam so sick of all of this.
the suspects are older; not young kids. the press RCMP conference says that the intent was to derail a VIA train totonto-montreal... though the headlines say new yourk -toronto train. VIA doesn't run in the states. the amtrak runs back and forth under a reciprocal agreement - it is re-crewed at the border in both directions. they aren't releasing much info right now.
Kat, it's distressing to hear this story
Not sure why the FBI would be involved in the investigation if this didn't have to do with a train that traveled between the US and Canada.
fbi and cdn authorities like RCMP and csis often work together as there are often ties on both sides of the border. just rmember, like always, there will be a lot of misinformation and rumour in the beginning. co-incidentally, the house of commons is debating the 3rd reading of Bill S-7, the Combating Terrorism Act today. it is designed to strenghthen aexisting laws.
they are scheduled for a bail hearing in toronto in the morning - we'll probably know a lot more then. they did say they were linked to al queda in iran (not iraq)
well, 30 minutes to closing time here if anyone wants any hints or stats.
Just getting started and have 148 words ahead of me. Sunny, breezy day in the great northwest with temperatures at about 53 degrees Farenheit.
i am watching nn now, no news conference
hi stidge, enjoy the grid :) sounds like a nice day there! the conference is over TO. but you may be able to replay it? try the link welki put up - it is for CTV news - a national broadcaster in canada
so what did canada do th them? I mean, no one is as eveil as the usa...
lol, i would laugh, but i don't want to ruffle any feathers... up here we do think of ourselves as "peacekeepers" and can't as a people understand why ANYONE would want to hurt us...i did check. if you use welki's link, when it loads you can just click play on the main video just under the headline..it takes a bit to load. there are 3 speakers, and a bit of it will be in french, but translated either before or after by the speaker
i must go now, see you all tomorrow. hagd everyone. TO - please take over bartending duties ;)
howdy my friends:)) back for a few more words
bye crossy, tomorrow :)
going as well, bye kate

ah. and if i were going to japan, probably something i would need to know
toukyou e basu wa doko desu ka
<---phonetically :D
When I went to Japan, I had taxi instructions written in Japanese - had to trust my colleagues - I got to where I was going, but it was odd being illiterate
I learned a lot of Japanese when I worked with several in a warehouse.. I tried to take it in College and it was WAY over my head
æ±äº¬è¡Œãã®ãƒã‚¹ã¯ã©ã“ã§ã™ã\n‹
Hey, it censored my Japanese
oh lol .. what did you say?
I tried to copy Google's automatic translation of that phrase
nan eo yate maska gremlinn?
Chog does not support 16-bit chars
What am I doing?
eating
eating = tabete imasu
<--- I think I'm turning japanese.. I think I'm turning Japanese I really think sooooo
I think mine is more casual gremlin
Hmm, fat, bald and Japanese.
HA.. taking KJE lessons?
Not at all. I don't for one minute believe that you are short, fat or bald. The jury is out on Japanese though. : P
I have two years of Japanese lessons... but it was in 1998-2000 so I'm almost afraid to type things out for fear I'll make basic mistakes :/
I've met him -- he is short, at least compared to me. He appeared neither bald nor Japanese though. :)
py5 victory
and i grew up near a former py6 mine :)
py7 victory?
well.. DC has met me.. I think he'd confirm I'm not bald, or short.. fat ... well.. I can't comment on that
ti7?
I think the bald thing is some kind of wild Yul Bynner fantasy. : P
since when is 6 feet considered short?
oh dear. i have to be up at 5am for work, guess that means it is bedtime!
It's not.
Outside the tin, a cat. Inside the ***, * ***se.
thx gremlin, weird word
So, 6 feet being short by comparison would make the comparing person what? 7 feet tall?
How tall are you DC?
6 2"
???
no, i'm just shy of 5'11"
LOL.. then you're short.> :D
i classify people as short if i can see over their heads. Never mind that they are of average height. On my dad's side of the family, i'm very short, about as tall as most of the women.
ok...i just signed on. (hello everyone!!) i have to say you are giants!!!
I"m six feet
LOL!!
maybe I've compressed a tiny bit :D
and je
he;s not fat or bald either
sleepy here, please forgive the typing
i am a little chubby
It's okay Dorens. Most of it's going over my head anyway. I'm still wondering why Ru's picture is disconcerting.
Wow, i didn't even notice, ruru, my bad LOL
looking at the mythical nancyboy maybe???
clue foro en7 please?
if you trap something, like at a zoo, you may en7 it.
foro...farro. funny. i had farro and butternut squash and carmelized onions for dinner
d'oh. that's a 6
maybe it's time for bed.
seain isn't that en6?
serious lag. i actually wrote that beofre your doh appeared
oh well. i found it. fw
en7: irregular plural of an 8 letter anagram of meconium
