I know I am getting tired when the word list makes me cranky
bu7/52 to construct + opp of down
*waves* anyone here?
hi granny
foffle!!!! hello hun.
how are you today?
just read your profile. how long have you been back in the UK?
nearly 18 months now
tired, now. was on-call, and got called in twice. money is good, but.
this is gonna sound weird. but my ancestors came from both belgium and england, and scotland and denmark. i really belong over on your neck of the woods..
how are you, foffle?
I think you got the better weather in Melbourne
wellat least it's never boring. don't like our weather, wait a minute. lol
same here
where is here, foffle?
I'm fine
West Midlands of england
above birmingham?
yes!
near stafford
okay, got you sort of pin-pointed.
grey skies....
Impressive knowledge of UK geography rose :)
Hi ladies
same here, although the sun has peeped through on a few occassions.
I was thinking the same chrissie
you're easily impressed, chrissie. hello sweetie, how are you tonight?
Passed you yesterday Foffle, live in Lancashire, visiting daughter in Surrey
hey you two, just because i'm antipodean.....
where in Lancashire?
Very good rose. This is the first time we've been able to visit since Feb last year due to the health issues. It's been all one way traffic with Jen visiting me.
oh, yes, i recall now. so this is a major mile-stone, dear. congrats.
Up Holland
Next milestone on monday, meeting oncologist for scan results, if all ok planning to return to work on Wednesday on a phased return. Have been off work for 9 months and the thought of going back is somewhat intimidating
Best of luck.
Thanks Foffle
I have to see my oncologist in August - so ages away
IF we still have a hospital
and so it is, dearest chrissie. it's quite okay to feel that way. i do so hope all goes well on monday, and that your return to work is easy.
How are you Foffle and how far along the journey?
oh I've had it easy compared to most. I had a hysterectomy which they hope got all the cancer
Thank you rose.
so no treatment so far apart from the op
That's good Foffle
lucky
isn't it strange? that is one of the easiest forms of cancer to cure....because it is so isolated...sounds like you were fortunate, foffle, and acted early enough.
foffle???if you still have a hospital?? rather cryptic....anything we should be aware of?
I was lucky that I was well into the menopause when all of a sudden bingo menstruation - time to see the doctor
well we have Stafford hospital which had been in the news a lot, mainly for mistreating and killing patients. I think it's closing down
Was reading an article this morning about a beautiful 25 yo who has died of cervical cancer because her doc wouldn't take action as she was under 25 when she first presented with bleeding. England NHS policy is no smear test under 25. Can't figure out why he didn't refer her for a coloscopy though.
So you could be left with no hospital at all?
omg and it;s so simple to test
so sad, that some doctors cannot see the exception to the rule.
yes we could. the nearest after stafford is Cannock Chase but they can't possibly handle all of Stafford's patients
Love the phrase "bingo menstruation" :)
lol
I nearly fell off the loo!
lol
foffle...*giggle* i don't think bingo is quite the term i would have used....mind you. i went from 'normal' to abnormal at the age of 34....was a big shock....my last baby was a menopausal baby, for goodness sake!!
oh granny that's awful, so young. I was expecting a bus pass
which I didn't get and got flipping cancer instead
Bummer!
yup
I've had better birthdays
foffle, you are one great lady, and don't let anyone tell you different. you are out on the other side....not sure if i would have had half your courage to face that sort of music, and the same goes for chrissie. you, too, are one hell of fighter.i'm proud of you both.
You've had enough of your own problems rose. Go go strong women.
i think i hear himself's dulcet tones summoning me to dine.....love and hugs to you both.
Bye rose, tc
thanks granny, that's very kind of you, but the reality is that it has nothing to do with character you have no choice
bye bye rose
foffle I am so sorry to hear that you had cancer. I am a two year sarcoma survivor.
Morning / evening everyone :)
Yay mamcitadbh. Lots of babblers are also cancer survivors
Hi smores
Hi smores
Hi Chrissie, Mama :)
It is so nice to hear the survivor stories
It certainly is.
I did finish yesterday's puzzle, smores. Going for two in a row!! :O)
Foffle, some of the best lines of dialogue I've heard go like this...Q: How did you ever find the grace to deal with that? A: Honey, we women don't find the grace, it finds us.
Congrats on two healthy years mamcitadbh.
woohoo mama :)
on vacation this week...
well said Molly
Hey Molly, Foffle :)
Oh thanks, but not my words, it was dialogue in a television show.

cuppa tea time. back in a minute
fixed one of those too
for my daughter
I was gonna say smores...really need some waking up today ;)
lol...I thought that right after I said it :)
I am finding this puzzle much more of a challenge than yesterday's :(
I thank God every morning for the auto timer on my coffee pot. I have gotten very used to fresh coffee being all ready as soon as I get up. : D
That's funny Molly, I actually remembered to set mine for a change, just didn't set it early enough.
I just got a Keurig and I love it...
Alas, Keurig's do not make coffee strong enough for me.
even a dark roast???
I'm gonna have to break down and get one.
Like yours extra strong huh?
back
I thought it silly until I got one for Christmas and I LOVE it
I don't like dark roast. Those little cups don't hold enough coffee for my "mix".
what is your mix???? do tell
I like that they have the refill cups now so you can mix your own though
And, after pricing things out, the cost of the coffee maker and the continual cost of the special cups is more than I would spend on just a regular brewer and coffee.
That is what I use almost all the time except for company or when I am in a hurry
or want a special flavor
Buying the little cups is what kept me from getting one.
Now that I can still use my own I may get one soon
I like to be able to make a full pot of coffee when I have guests, too.
I am the only one who drinks the coffee here so it works out well. My husband hates coffee???!!!!
Yes, there are people like that. I don't understand it, but apparently there are.
:)
My sister too...???!!!!
go figure
I gotta have my coffee :)
anyone else struggling here?? I am only at 55 :(
Have you ever had to have an early morning medical procedure where you've had to fast the night before and you can't have coffee? It's like facing a strange and different world.
lol..I'm only at 43
yes I'm struggling at 57
but I did just get nbt/nbs :)
Yes just Friday
Ah..yes Molly, strange indeed.
Did you hit the Starbucks on the way home? I did :)
I don't like Starbucks and talk about pricey, AAAGH!
I don't get people who go to Starbucks every day.
Yes, their specialty drinks are way over priced. I just get the regular coffee
I'll tell you the best coffee I have ever had was in the Dominican Republic
Me either, mine own taste better and is definatly a lot cheaper.
Some of them are spending the same amount for one cup of "coffee" that I spend for an entire can of it.
true that molly
ooo...I bet
I've heard that about the Domincan Republic and Costa Rica.
My husband even drank it-it was amazing
A friend sent me some wonderful whole bean coffee from Costa Rica.
did you cherish it and dole it out carefully...:)
lol...yep
was a sad thing when it was gone.
I bet
phantom: tulip

Daffodils and tulips.

ah..guess I need another cup :)
where are you that all is past?
DC area.
my daughter is sown there also, talking about the cherry blossoms, a week or so ago????
It's very pretty when they all bloom around The Tidal Basin.
Our tulips and daffodils are gone as well. My irises are about gone as well.
good heavens our irises are just beginning to show some green above ground. WHere are you Bea?
Hi all :)
Ours are in bloom now
Hi Bzzn, Liz :)
hi liz
I'm in northern North Carolina. About 20 miles from the VA border.
Good morning, liz, smores and everyone else.
I miss the blooming of flowers in spring! Here the trees can be beautiful in spring but no daffs or tulips :(
The azaleas are in all their glory now.
all you southerners...LOL I always say that no one enjoys spring like Northern New Englanders, recovering from winter
Love all the bright greens that spring brings!
:)
Our trees are just beginning to bud, crocuses are up, daffodils coming along, tulips in a couple of weeks. We still have many nights below freezing. Tuesday it never got out of the 40's
I have all my veggie garden in already, mam. Also planted all my periennials.
okay I am talking more than puzzling at this point, is that acceptable or will a penalty ensue?
We have started getting ready to put the garden in at the end of May!!!!!
Annuals. Not perinnials
figured that bea
No penalty for chitchat.
LOL...we'd need a bigger box
And a lot more goodies!
gm,everyone clue for the de6 after airing the wine?

you are killing me smores :)
Hi lbd - sorry don't have that yet!

Bye smores. Have a good day :)
I looked the meaning, it means curved inward, hooked...I remembered it from past grids.

Hi Molly
need help with the 8 please
hi Molly
I don't have it, wvteach but I will help
Could I get a clue for bu7/52, please?
any help - stats, clues
Lickety says it is a bu 8/70
don't have it either - is it related to the 8
I have another bu7, but not that one
my bu 7 is 7/48
i have same one mom
same here
me too
got it
compound word, same root as the other bu7
In my opinion, neither the bu 7/48 nor the 7/52 are real words.
hyphenated maybe?
thnx mael - hard to see compound words
I agree about the 7/48, but the 52 is not so strange
the bu7/52 of suspense? I would spell it that way (not that Enable asks me!)
make the bu 7/52 plural
halfway, NBT and NBS - time for breakfast - BBL
that's it for me today. I wish you all a great day. ((Hugs))
bye bye wvteach
anyone have a clue for ca 6/24?
bye ((Mom)) have a peaceful day
bye mom!

Hi mael

Hello again :)
hi smores
hi smores
Morning, everyone!
Hi Mimi!
Hey Mimi :)
{Annie}
{smores}
I played at the flip so probably won't find many more this morning....these smaller grids are wicked for me.
This grid is one of the easiest I have encountered.
Yesterdays was tough...for me anyway
I'm happy for you, BR.
Phantom player in grid: medusa.
Hi BR....for the 1st 1/2 it was...now not so much for me
I'm kinda stuck halfway too
Ty, smores...glad I'm not the only one.
Hi mael :)
:)
And mael joins the frustration party!
same here too--need 58
nope..not just you :)
Good Morning - 36 left and stuck
I found yesterdays much easier - gave up with 8 to go
ca 5/20 shack
good morning River
:)
I dont think I have met you yet puglet - welcome
yesterday's was better for me, I finished with no list
bu 7/48 is what many might consider an unlikely past tense
Thank you--I joined last month
I dont list anymore - do what I can and call it quits so was happy with 8 left yesterday
River. O
on each of the A's I lack one word-uggg
agree BR...
the Ys are giving me trouble today
River, I'm with you...too much like work for me. I'm just happy getting the ones I can.
de 6/27 is what happens to deciduous trees in colder climes; pt
Hello!
If I cross over the halfway line I feel like a C student--lol
{car}
Hi Mimicat!!!
hi car :)
Hi Annie!
Haven't seen you for a bit, car...I've missed you!
I've been in and out!
How are you?
Hanging in there...yourself?

How is therapy going, car?
Hi BR!
y + **** lang syne
They're predicting our first 100-degree day here on Sunday. Phoenix only has two seasons....heaven and hell. We've been in heaven, now approaching hell.
Its good. I feel like I am learning to walk again...this time properly. I took a 2 mile walk yesterday and I have never concentrated so much on walking before!
Oh dear, Mimi!
sp 7/48 --- a russet put in the past
Good for you, car
Thank you BR..that was Y I was missing
Bless your heart, car....you'll get there. I'm just getting more back to my strength after my heart attack last year....takes time.

In unison now, car.....AAAAARRRGGGHHH!!
Down to 38. Apparently the caffeine is doing some good. Still feel like I'm in low gear.
Well done Judi!
TY BR! Got it!
You're doing better than me, Judi....my gears are grinding.
Joe Biden is a doofus.
Does anyone write his speeches?
Or does he just go rogue on his own?
What did he say now?
LOL! He does go rogue every now and then. Here in Delaware ( his home state), we call him "Foot-in-mouth Joe".
I can relate to that, Judi....sometimes I only open my mouth to change feet!
we have strange politicians here as well - I even voted for some of them!!
Need a clue for the de4/8s
*giggling*
adroit for one of them kenny
Joe Biden at Sean Collier memorial: Suspected bombers 'twisted, perverted, cowardly, knock-off jihadis' Is he trying to incite more attacks?
You do realize that we are always being lead by a crazy person in the first place....you have to be a bit nuts to want the job.

Time to make up some mail to help keep the USPS from going bankrupt. BBL.
Bye Judi!
Later, Judi.
I just think it was not the right way to put that statement nor the right thing to say at a memorial service.
Exactly, car. It gets so frustrating dealing with this madness. Have you noticed that tragedy seems to happen in 3's? Had #3 in Illinois.
Aren't we on to about 5 now? Barges blowing up in Alabama?
the Y's are kicking my behind
Babble, I got the first but not the second one. Any other clues?
de + they have free wi-** at most cafes
de + "stereo"
<---- has purring kitten sitting on her lap
Hadn't heard about that one. Since I stopped my cable service I only get news emailed from different sources and not always very up-to-date. Actually, I'm not sad to not get the news....
at least part of another word for stereo
ya 4/7...small dogs tend to ya* a lot (add plural letter)
that's the only one I have car
BR clued this one yearly....Y + **** lang sy4

Hi Trader Kate!
hi kate
back for my last 23... mostly de words :(
65 here
42 left here
back for my last 48
hi foffle :)
hi Kate :)
Afternoon.
Phantom Eddy Murphy.
hey kap
hi kaplan :)
you had the first word right Kap
PB already!Way to go!
Meant Eddie.
It's easy to type a word in chog that you haven't found yet
these de words are killing me, can't wait til I get to the du words, not
Just found the 7/8 - didn't realize that was all 1 word
me neither, they look like they should be hyphenated
definitely
i agree, hyphenated looks better
they are in my scrabble dictionary as one word, no hyphens
ah, because it is a noun not a verb? as in there was a big bu7 to the election; rather than the suburbs were getting quite bu 5/16 up (2 words)
yes
does anyone have the de 7/52 please?
plural of de6/24, to let wine breath you de**** it
Sorry Kate, I gave you the de7/36, I don't have the one you are looking for.
ty fuzzy, but that is the de 7/36, i need the 52.. it precedes where a lion lives
no worries, ty for trying :)
I got so excited that I had a de 7 that I found all by myself!
de 7/52 - not working any more
DE 7 x 3
:) i know the feeling, i don't often get them wihtout a bit of help
ty teach, will look
if you want more of a clue let me know
afraid so, teach... not seeing anyting :(
DE + babble is *** not work + abbrev. for court or center
ty, teach
thanks teach... though the *** that babble is can sometimes be painfully so ;)
5 to go, but almost out of time... will shamelessly beg now... pe 6/24 pe 7/36 (combo?)
yes - it can be frustrating, exasperating, but ***
and pe 6/24 (last one... follows "confined"
fortunately, i like a lot of things that give me ulcers ;)
there are PE 6/24 x 3, but the middle one is a cobo with 7/36 PE + consonant + small picnic pest and then pl for 7
PE 6/24 (last one) = writing tool + ***tiate (very best, very most)
tytyty... i hsould have seen that one, since i am guilty of pe 6/24ry from time to time ;)
and thanks again fore the last pe! ONE more to find...
i'm willing to bet it is fishy... ad 5/16 (last one) follows "grown-up"
yvw - know what it's like when you get to that time cutoff
i really need to shake some money out of the budget for internet at home....
not fishy - A + first part of DU 5/16
ad + ***le, niece, nephew
better clue zooz
would never get it done if it wasn't here at home where i can be doing other things in between - just got dinner started
..... and.... fireworkds, thank you both so much! there were too many 2 point tiles to wade through.. and that isn't a likely combo of letters!
congrats kate
I have finished..but me neither..i take way too long to have to rush a grid.lol
have no idea what it eans
Congrats, TK!
i miss babbling later in the evening, and early morning over tea... and sundays when the internet cafe isn't open...
wtg Kate and zooz
curved inward; hooked is the meaning of that ad 5/16
AD 5/16 - eeans curved inwards or hooked - but, of course :)
congratulations zooz!!!! i have just a few minutes left if anyone neeeds hints
i try to look up at least a few of the crazy words each day.... sometimes i even remember them :)
25 to go, but just got the list so will work with that, but thanx
the ya s Kate?
i do that too - try to fit that one into a conversation
sorry, i have to poof, can teach jor zooz help?
Do you have the dog noise ya4/7, Foffle?
yes that;s the only one I have
Stick a two point vowel in as the third letter.
Then PT for the YA6/33
y + **** lang sy4
Sorry take off the plural
YU 4/8
ya5/18 - y + a*** lang syne - New Year's Eve song
got it thanks
At least I wasn't PB like with my clue : P
Carp! Forgot about that sy4!
:-)
Easily done, Bea.
May I please have a clue for un7-36? Thanks
upends
sorry
un+ cheerleader move
or not cut in half
Thanks much, Bea. Still looking.
** finito ** last word was TI 5/12 a mark used in languages such as Spanish
well done, teach! this is a tough grid.

Hi there, dcs.
wtg teach
Hey, dc.

Congrats, teach!!!!!
time to finish fixing dinner
any clues needed before i go?
OMG, thanks dcs and bea.
Funny how no one has clued un7 with the banana ice cream dessert. That must be out of style these days.
not with me = love them
Or, our buddy Lickety. : D
Haven't had one of those for a long time. Lickety would have been a good clue.
lol that was a great clue
hi all.wtg teach and tyvm molly.your un7 clue was the only one i got, but that's not taking anything away from the other cluers as i got all of them :)
I see them on the menu at Dairy Queen, but as I don't like bananas, never order them.
*i meant i got all the other clues(but not the un 7's)
If I have one, I only want the strawberries. Do not want the chocolate or the pineappl.
:-o you don't like bananas?
my hubby is back for a night and took the bairn and i out for a lovely meal. i had chicken livers to start and never had them before.they were lovely
i only like dried bananas
so no banoffee pie for you?
Time to feed the four leggers...pfft!
Hello all. Lovely sunny day in the great Northwest and the temperatures allowed us outside in simply our shirtsleeves!
wow! sunshine!
Great, stidgmere.
hi gmere.glad you have had a nice day.it's nice to have some sun, cheers everyone up a bit, especially after all the bad weather we've all suffered
I like to try new foods, too lilliann. Sometimes I have to look up on the internet to find a recipe that tells me what to do with the ingredients! Hey Foffle, don't be too amazed. This is our third day in a row with sunshine!
sun??..sun?? what is this sun thing you speak of?..rain today, snow yesterday and more rain tonight.we stand a slim to no chance of seeing tonight rare full pink moon
Ty gp we are all feeling very frisky, including, Murphy who thinks this is his dinner time. Being a lab he thinks it is always his dinner time so twice a day he is absolutely right.
did you not have sun yesterday foffle? apparently it was suppose to be our hottest day so far this year.it was sunny up here but cold with the wind we ahd
well when you;re looking at constant grey skies it's good to hear that it's good weather SOMEWHERE
Oh, crossy, my heart does go out to you. It might help knowing some parts of planet earth are cloud-free.
grey skies yesterday too
hehe,it is ok,my ghostly withe skin will have more than ample time to be burnt to a crisp this august
white
the liver was in a puff pastry basket and it had a mushroom, bacon and vermouth sauce.it was very nice but i think i would prefer more liver and no pastry
Banoffee pie is such a great recipe. The addition of bananas ruins it for me though. I had it made with pears once and loved it.
There is a local commercial featuring a water park that is open all winter because it is all within a huge building. The funny part is how white the skin is on the family members in the commercial showing how much fun it is to be in the water.
it's my favorite but I love bananas
i've never had banoffee pie because of banans.does it have cream in it?
cream on top with chocolate shavings
Yes L, it's all creamy and banana-y, you would not like it.
sorry you've had crap weather crossy, but i'd get used to it as when you go to ireland in the summer it's bound to rain, as that is normally our summer over here.well, you might remember as you lived here didn't you?
i can't stand cream so i won't try your pear one molly
Yes, coming this summer...Crosshair Meets Soodle.
he might pass my hubby on his coach molly.
where does soodle live in ireland?
I have to go. Night, night all - see you tomorrow :)
Goodbye Foffle.
County Meath
night foofle, sweet dreams and tc:)
thanks Lillian you too
So crossy is crossing the pond this summer? I hadn't heard. What a great adventure and what a great Babble chog we shall have.
poof!
*sorry, foffle
Murphy needs attention so I shall go sit with him for awhile. bbl
I'm crossing the pond at the end of May. Walking the Cotwolds
What an adventure that will be for you Bich.
Wish fixing dinner for Hubs was as easy as putting some kibble in a bowl and putting it on the floor...
he's never been there molly.he's been to dublin loads of times and balbriggan which is about 40km away
i am indeed stid mere.all things working acording to plan we shall be lading in Dublin and stay in Trim as our home base and discovering north and south Ireland
for 2 weeks or so
have to remember to bring both pounds and euros i gather
because i want to see the giants causeway while there also
i figure it as about 2.5 hour drive north of trim.here in canada,we travel further for good take out food,so no bother for me:)
i hope you have a lovely time bzzn and that the weather is better.apparently we are in for a good summer but they said we were going to have an indian summer last year and we didn't
You have Indian Summer in Britain Lili?
That is Bich who is going to the Cotswolds, L.
my hubby has travelled all around the outskirts of ireland crossy with his coach but not the centre.my hubby tells me he went to the causeway 4 days ago and has been there 3 times this year and yes crossy you will need pounds for the north and euros for the south
no bichon, but thta's what the weather people try and tell us.well, not up north anyway
My horizons are broadened. I've always thought of Indian Summer as an American term. : D
i know molly
oh, sorry, i thought i wrote bichon, well they both start with a b :)
nope, molly we also use it here in the great white north above you:))
Canadians are Americans, just North Americans, not regular Americans <ggg>
aye, we call it indian summers here , not that you'd know it :)
But where are the Indians, lili?
down the road in the curry house
sorry :)
as in the indian take away.sorry for my humour
i've never heard of the fl4/10, apparently it is an americanism
not even going to touch that one, bichon
or that one,lillian
:)
:) i think i'll shut up crossy as i'm getting myself into trouble as normal :)
no,problem at all,we can easily move on to sex, food or booe
booze
the dictionary said the fl4 started in the U.S and was an americanism
i was going to say, that'll probably be safer but we can both still get into trouble with those too
yes,but it would be more fun while doing it:)
i would re-phrase that crossy :)
we could default to puppies and kitties..
that would annoy molly...oh we should, then she will appear..lol
lol,i annoy everyone and do not care:) take me as i can
as i am*
oh, she won't be annoyed, she'll just join in with the banter
good enough
It's okay L. I'm used to the anti-American stuff that gets said here.
i'm the same, but sometimes i feel guilty as i don't want to offend people
they we go, i knew she'd appear :)
Hello all....
i wasn't being anti american, well i don't think i was, not intentionally anyway
hi jill :)
jill and molly, do you say the fl4/10 word?
I know what it means. I don't use it myself.
Have to find it first...LOL
May I please have a clue for sn7-40? Thanks
i must admit it's not a word we use here
Past tense of the 4 before it Peach. If you can dig that.
sorry peach, i don't have it yet
i only have 56 words
Thanks much, Molly.
just found it, add the d's
It is used here lillian, probably a good one for me when I fl$/10 up a clue...
Thanks to lilliann for looking.
sorry, i missed molly's clue
i'm going to have to try and remember the fl4 jill, i like the word
i've learnt something new with the sp7, but i'll forget what it means in an hour
i thought it might have something to do with potatoes
ty for sp 7 lillian
yw crossy
what i cannot wait for and will enjoy is how everything is so close in ireland.in just a few hours you can go anywhere:)
though you guys do drive on the wrong side of the road and i shall need a driver or i will destroy myself and other on the road along with me:)
very true crossy, saying that that's the same in the uk but then we're only little islands and not as vast as canada.but i must admit i would love to come to canada one day and america/new zealand and australia.when i win the lottery.....
new ealand i hear is amazing
we don't drive on the wrong side, we drive on the right side for us :)
zealand
lol
I wouldn't be able to drive on the left hand side of the road either. The disorientation would make me dizzy.
i could have been living in new zealand as my dad was accepted in the police force there but my mam and dad didn't have the money to move over there. it would have meant that my dad lived there for about 6 months atleast before we could go and be with him but my mam and dad didn't want that
we do however have your roundabouts now and are on of the few communities that do
stats for the 2nd column D please....
We have tons of roundabouts here crossy
yes,i hear you have to have a pretty penny to buy in new zealand
well, you'll be alright then crossy apart from the wrong side of the road and car :)
They are called circles here, and we have had them for a long time. They can be very confusing depending on how many roads feed into them.
this was going back about 40 years ago
i tried driving a right hand drive jag here once and it was so hard because driving one here of course i was up against the edge of the road
i didn't know you had round abouts molly
and don't forget crossy alot of cars here are manual
we are taking baby steps with just 4 roads feeding into them
my hubby wants to buy himself a jag this year
My uncle had one...there are other cars I'd choose...
Yep L. Since the 1700's when L'Enfant designed DC.
prblem is now all new jags are made by ford, and i do not know if that is an improvement or not.all the old jags i have used were very..delicate and needed constant tune ups especially the v-12,s
Okay, still cannot locate a word from the bottom 2nd column D...help plz?
if i had money for a jag,i think i would ster to a german sedan instead
Like not mommy with a different vowel.
steer
May I please have a clue for de6-24 the 2nd? Thanks
ty molly (notice, no peri this time) nbt nbs and 78 left...bbl
my hubby loves jags and he is a mechanic so he can fix any problems.jags aren't that expensive now crossy. when he said he wanted one, i told him we couldn't afford one but when he's shown me them we can, but not a brand new one
de + mr Acroyds stuff
ty molly fot the de clue
Thanks much, crossy.
np gapeach
I keep waiting for someone to say Who is Mr. Akroyd? So far so good.
is that not dan molly?
Yes it is, but so many times when an American celebrity is used in a clue, it makes no sense to people in other countries.
the actor, or am i getting mixed up again like i did the other night when i said a clue and said the gorilla in godzilla and i meant king kong..lol
He's an actor, a comedian, a musician, jack of all trades.
but i must admit i don't get the acroyd's stuff crossy.what stuff?
we are all different, but ole MR Acroyd seems known far and wide..so far
uh oh,spoke too soon
de + plural his first name
lol crossy. i knew about the acting but not the other stuff
i didn't know that about him molly
np.we are all different, with differnt sources.that is what makes it fun
ty molly
nan
and crossy
L, he started out as a comedian, then moved into acting and music. I think he's even done some screenwriting.
yes,he has done quite a few things.i think he was the son in driving miss daisy but he has done many other movies
thanks molly, i never knew about him being a comedian, i've just always known him to be an actor.that's why i love babble as i learn new and interesting things every day, even if i do forget alot of them :D
second city tv also i think?
was he crossy? i've seen that film once
second city tv?
yup.he was daisy,s son
it was alot of years ago when i watched it
worked with eugine levy a lot in lots of oddball comedies
As far as movies go, I would think he is best known for Ghostbusters.
funny, that was one i never saw
yes, i know him from that one molly and there is another film but i can't think of the name
His role in Driving Miss Daisy was good, but people remember Tandy and Freeman more for that movie. Hardly anyone remembers that Patty LuPone was in it.
i love moragan, but daisy stole the show
the blues brothers
Yes, The Blues Brothers is another one of his famous ones. What a great movie.
So see L, you did know he's a musician. : D
reminds me,tonights dvd is million dollar baby with morgan freeman and clint eastwood.good movie
me and hubby love that film
i've never seen it crossy
it is good
Akroyd is amazing on the harmonica.
oh I thought Million Dollar baby was about Kim Kardashian's baby
now thinking about it, yes but i didn't realize, but i had to wikapedia it molly
ahh...no
hi ru
is that not the one who was married for 72 hours or something?
yeah.. just long enough for his drugs to wear off
lol
tough when you wake up married..and screaming in terror
kim kardashian...i know the name but can't see a face?
imagine coming off the ecstasy and finding her in bed with you >>> OMG..ugh
you would rather cut your arm of than risk moving it and waking her up
oh, i take it she is one ugly person
LOL
no kidding
who is she?
she's a tv reality show personality
i'm going to google
a dumb rich chick who is famous for making a sex tape
another Posh spice type
<---Now singing Little Feat...♪ and I don't remember church bells ♫ or the money I put down ♪ on the white picket fence and boardwalk ♫ of the house at the edge of town ♫
but remember, always be the gentleman and leave a leash and a can of alpo on the pillow before you go home and wash..with brillo pads and javex bleach
i've just googled her, prettyish but she's not worked hard to get where she is
she's been worked alright lillian :D
Oh L, prettyish is such a stretch
LOL
I think she's hideous
i actually admire posh spice more than kim. posh wasn't born into wealth and although she can't sing she does work and does alot for charity
i imagine if you dug her up 100 years after she was buried, there would be all these plastic and silicone bits
and butt implants
lmao ru( i knew i shouldn't have written it like that for you) lol
pregnancy is not doing her any good, she can be gorgeous, but deserves none of the attention she gets - I am happy for one day without any news about her or her sisters
so I am not happy very often
poor jess
i hear ya jess
well luckily enough we don't hear or see much about her here jess
i just got rid of cable programming, now i do not have to look at her or honey boo-boo
and what the hell happened to Bruce Jenner. .. he's like a queen from hell
why do people want butt implants.i'd gladly give some of mine away :)
good for you lilliann
: D
(Laughing at Ru's Jenner comment)
bruce jenner?
what do you expect in that house full of those women?!
i need to ggogle again
Kim has more plastic in her rear than a prius
lol
I think one of the most frightening internet images I have ever seen is the Kardashian Christmas card. : O
now remember guys, when dating a woman like this, alway rap on the body panels with your knuckles to check for filler
which accounts for her always being in the high occupancy lane :D
bout as exclusive as the white pages
ha
he was eric estradas replacement in chips? i never remember seeing him and i loved that programme when i was growing up
i still don't know who he is or recognize his photo in wikipedia. it says he is 63 but has a photo of a 30 year old!!
there would be no reason to watch without eric...
I think he's better known for his athletic stuff.
i don't remember him, only eric so i don't think the show was shown here when he was in it
i've seen he was an athlete but i still don't know him
I think Eric is selling blenders now
he was a gold medal winning olympian
now he dyes his hair and looks like hell
hey molly?
i just clicked on the photo, he does look 60ish but he looks like he's had some work
speaking of looking like hell, what has kenny rogers done to himself??!
Hey Ru....
do you think Frank will bring Nancy Boy back to life in a new episode? you know like they do in the soap operas
i love the song with dolly parton. islands in the stream
Anything is possible in the world of fictional internet lives.
:D
*wonders what ole Nef would think about that?*
i still can't believe it.why do people do that?
Because they have no life L. So they make one up on the internet to entertain themselves.
i'm just too nice and believe what everyone says. my hubby is more worldly than me and would have known about him and says i'm too soft
See the definition of pathological liar.
This place is full of people who are too nice and believe a lot of stuff they should not.
Which makes it a playground for people who like to invent an internet persona.
i should know really as i worked with people with mental health issues for alot of years but i still want to see the nice side of people and believe it
i sure as hell got taken in over that lisa jaurez stuff
that's why i won't let my daughter have a fb account or any other molly
lisa juarez?
google again:)
she was the one who took off with our money that was to go to MRP
Most people who make up internet personalities trip themselves up in their own lies. It's easy to spot when you've seen a few of them "perform".
most of the money* i think 400 dollars made it through as a lure
They way I heard that story, all the PayPal money went through, because it was not sent directly to Wildcat.
yes, anything that she did not personally touch made it through
omg..wildcat.bloody hell
excuse french
it is ok,lillian swear away
we learned a lesson on that one
Again, it was someone taking advantage of the good natured people here. But really, it is never a good idea to send money to someone you only know through the internet. No matter how well you "think" you know them on line.
sage advice
,---I'm an idiot
i am right behind you,ru
i took my own stupid pills over that whole thing
i must admit i didn't send any money as i would prefer to do it personally as in straight to that person, but i actually liked wild cat. what a bitch!!! i'm going to stop being so personal on here with my life now as people will use it
L, even straight to that person is not always safe. How do you know that the sad story you are hearing is real? People scam other people on the internet that way all the time.
aww, crossy, you should let a bitch like that ruin your life.you are and will always be a better person and now you've learnt a lesson like the rest of us
we all did and ty,lillian
but now we move on and learn
very true molly. i only give to proper ??? forgotten the word
charities
as in the ones that i know are real
have I told you about my charity needs lately?
i was going to say who i give to but i'm not now as i don't know who is here and will use it against me
i'll give you a kiss on the cheek ru for your needs :)
that's my kind of charity.. :D
People talk about their hard times with money here frequently. And yet, in only two instances, was there an effort made to collect money. I have always wondered about that.
i thought you'd like it :D
Can you imagine what would have happened if "Frank" said he needed money to pay for Nancyboy's funeral?
thinking about it now molly, you're right.none of us here are rich and all have problems one way or the other but we never ask for anything and i certainly wouldn't want anyone asking for me.life is hard and we just have to get on with it the best we can
sigh, many of us would of been taken in,molly
Psst...L...there are several people here who are what I would consider "well off".
there would have been alot of people paying for it, that's for sure, even though they don't have alot themselves
what was the second fundraising attempt other than for mrp, molly? i do not recall that
It was before Mr. P, for Jellen. And organized by Wildcat. But all that money went through PayPal.
ahh ,ok
i like babble for the people who are the same as me.we like to play a game and meet new people and enjoy talking and learning about different countries and cultures and i might upset and annoy people here but i've met alot of lovely 'true ' people and am honoured to have met them who have been through hell and back and just lead normal lives and then to have people like that take from my friends appals me
have not seen jellen of late.she was the one who lost her fianceee to cancer?
But L, the thing is, a while back, you probably would have considered Nancyboy one of those lovely, "true" people. People get taken in very easily by creative liars. Sad but true.
omg, she did that for jellen aswell, but jellen was a real person wasn't she?
as far as i know she is
yep she is.. I've seen her
Yes. The difference being, all the money that was sent to Jellen was sent via PayPal. Which goes from you to the recipient. In the case of the Mr. P thing, people sent checks made out to Wildcat, due to currency exchange. I have never quite figured out why WIldcat was to be trusted to take care of that though.
very true molly.now i don't know who is real and not! that has spoilt this game as i truly thought that bthe people here were honest.i know we get trolls...actually i'd prefer the trolls atleast you know who they are so to speak
thank god god for that ru as i like jellen and she went through hell losing her other half
i think it was because she was invovled in the jellen thing and there was trust given there even though it was all pay pay.we let down our guard and i think the larger amounts for mrp must of been too tempting for wildcat
Good chance that most people here are genuine. But there are people who lie because that's what they do. And they love the internet because it's a great place to fool people.
oh, ok molly. aye paypal is better atleast you know it's getting to that person, or is it as there are so amny ways to commit fraud now
Honestly, I never understood why the larger amounts were sent in the first place. A small donation to an "internet friend" makes some sense to me. A large donation, to someone you have never met, does not. But that's just me.
our heart responded to mrp's plight and we all respond differently
i now actually remember wildcat asking for money for mrp
and i regret to all that i was a big promoter in that
I am a sucker for substance abuse issues
and dogs
as do i,i was an addict once that is my excuse
are you a sucker to wheelchair people with young children ru?? :)
i don't want money ru, a nice bottle of white wine would be great or a case :D
now,i just donate/work with the cancer society and volunteer at the shelter.it is good and my bit of paying it forward
wine is the easiest for me.. but it's hard to ship to Europe
what a bummer ru
lol, save the wine for someone with a palette.wine to me is what i cook with while waiting for the booze to show up;)
i wish I could send Jilli home with wine.. but she'd never make it through customs
i think that is the best crossy and good for you :)
I hardly ever drink booze
are you saying i don't have a palette crossy?? :)
my alcohol has to make a blue flame, sterilize wounds and be a fuel substitute for cars at need. no,i am saying that i do not have one
why is ahrd to ship to europe ru?
wine is all grape juice to me, lillian
i ws joking with you crossy :)
(lillian)
with my typing it looks like i've had too many anyway :)
if you used my typing as a guide,i would always appear three sheets to the wind
ahrd is like viagra for dyslexics lillian
lol crossy. me too which is why i drink it, it's healthy, it's full of fruit :)
lol ru
...*knows crossy is always three sheets to the wind*
lol crossy
ru,i am not under the affluence of incohol,it's just that thinkle peep i are
lol
lol
and that's opposed to someone who is three shits to the wind around here
<----scatologist
There is a difference between being happily inebriated and constantly bitter.
actually it is sad in crossyland atm,the booze cupboard is bare and the place is dryer than a popcorn fart;((
anyway as much as i love talking to you real or not i need some more words so i'm diving in(molly hates that saying.i'm just waiting for her to re-appear and say something) :)
i love "diving in" and hunting for 'babblets"
oh, she there..lol
It's not a pool L, it's not a pool. And you don't have to say POOF when you leave either. : P
crossy often does a cannonball into the grid all the while speaking in the thrid person
i love that popcorn saying crossy
i say poink,not poof
i never say pool molly :) and i say poof just to wind you up, the same as hubby and !!!!!!! :)( i love her really) :) oh and happy faces :) :) :)
love ya molls :)
ty,lillian, cannot remember where i stole that from but remember that saying"using one book for your essay is plagerism, but use a thousand and it is research"
The law of the land was laid down about third person. I dare not mention that again.
since i do it,i will mention it for you
and i say poof so people know that i've gone so don't think i'm rude when they speak and i've gone :)
can i ask what are the differences between :) :P :D please
are there any?
No difference. All forms of adding a smile to what you have posted. Also frowned upon, as is <----
i say poink vs poof because poof is a derrogatory word for many of our euro friends
why frowned upon?
Never mind L. I am referring to an 18 point diatribe that was posted once about things people do and say in Babble chat. It was very bitter.
<----- does not understand why this is frowned upon:))
euro friends crossy, as in gay do you mean? i must admit i don't like saying it as i thought that but as a babble word everyone knows it, but you're right i will now make my own word up
oh, ok molly. i don't like bitter people, it takes up too much energy(as in to be bitter)
i don't want to be derrogatory about anyone.but i will tell you i'm a mean crazy bitch in a wheelchair!! lol
i had one of our british babbler mention it to me a while a go and i was only too happy to find an alternate
now you can say it and it won't be derrogatory :)
i stole "poink" from the tc childrens cartoons,it is what appears on screen when someone vanishes
tv
i have some gay friends and it wouldn't offend them.
One thing I have never understood about a chat forum is why people need to announce that they are here, not here, not really here, will be right back, are back, what they did while they were gone, etc. But that's just me.
i used to be able to do a stationary wheelie in a wheechair.used to sit there poised on the back wheels and watch tv that way
Good morning / evening lilli molly and crossy and everyone else - love the rhyming names :)
howdy liz
So I should stop saying good morning?
nope,we love that you can time travel liz and are jealous
Just call me Doctor Who!
liz stole the tardis!!!
It's smaller on the outside, you know!
as you know i'm in a wheelcahir and have been called loads of names by people but i'm not offended.the only thing i ever got offende with was before i was in a wheelchair i had crutches and walked like i was drunk because of my balance problems and the bairn was little and someone said 2lokk at that drunk and she has a small child" i turned around and told her she knew nowt and get on with your own life as you never know what is around the corner...i actuallly wanted to swear at her and say alot more but i wasn't going to do it infront of the bairn
hi liz :)
lol,i remember from the old dr who series in the 70,s.we used to pick it up on old channel 17 the public donation broadcasting channel
L, small minded people say small minded things.
i can do wheelies crossie
I love doctor who - am so glad the new series started - funny watching the old ones - the technology's so outdated!
can you? we need to get together and do a wheelie constest
Can't believe that people would make comments to you lilli!
if i could get over to ireland crossy we could
my wife uses a white cane for depth perception when out as she can no longer judge the depth of curbs/sidewalks etc,i am there with her,but many people do not give an inch or even care and i have to be her blocker
Are you off to Ireland, crossy? That's exciting!
i've heard loads of them liz and had people practically point in my face with the bairn about. now she is older i can send her away and tell them what i think of them
Sadly Liz, I can believe it. Some people live to make crappy comments when they are not necessary. Even right here in Babble chat.
yes, liz,we are hoping to have it all set for mid summer/early autumn
That's true. I just find it really hard to understand people, who seem to enjoy being offensive to others.
Mrs. Gump would say "Bitter is as bitter does"
That's fantastic, crossy. I'd love to visit Ireland - particularly the southern coast. From pics I've seen, it looks beautiful.
These most definitely have different connotations... :) :P :D
can she get a dog crossy?
we will be near the middle, liz stationed at Trim
she can, eventually.there is a 4 year wait list
i just think these people have sad lives and haven't got a clue what happens in the real world
so,for now crossy is her dog...woof!
I know Soodle is very excited about getting to meet someone from Babble chat.
And will you travel around from there?
yes, liz.we plan on 2 weeks and will go all over
You sound like Ruby with that "woof"!
and we plan to get together with soodles
i must admit i could do with a disabled dog but i couldn't walk it(as in take it out even in wheelchair)
That's great! Hope one of you will post some pics!
hi all...trying to dinhs but am stuck on the first du5.
i will take a ton of pics
Get a big dog, lilli - it can pull you!
fuddy-du5
Look forward to seeing them!
du5 sounds like friend, pal mate
I haven't added any words yet this morning!!!!!!! :(
I only have one y word! Are they really obscure?
sorry,liz i am blathering
Most of them, yep.
That's what the chat's for.
Maybe not *really* obscure
Thanks Gremlinn! I have the dog bark!
There's a set of three which may be related to that one (longer vowel sound)
i would love to have a dog and a properly trained disabled dog would help me alot as hubby away alot and the bairn at school so i can't always reach up or down as i get dizzy, but i couldn't always exercise it so it wouldn't be fair on the dog and i don't think i would be able to get one anyway
Looking now!
long, long wait here lillian.demand is too high and both human and dog must be trained together
I didn't realise that you'd have to wait so long for a dog, crossy. Quite surprised by that!
thank you. I was short the wrong du5. thanks...you helped! ty
ya and the song we sing in the new year..the start of
they are trained to order since they are so personalized betewwn dog and recipient
OK - thanks gremlin - found the set of 3 - haven't heard of that word, though perhaps I've seen it in the grid before but had forgotten!
Now just missing one y - so that's an improvement! Thanks for the help, guys.
i might look into it crossy
Keep wanting to enter duel!
and there are others in greater need since my wife has some vision left at 20/400
Will the vision remain or deteriorate?
there are days when my 13 year old has to help me dress, i wonder if a dog could do that :)
it has held, with surgery at 20/400 for last 5 years and seems to have stabalized
sorry to hear that crossy will it get worse?
Liz: it might be more common with a W as the third letter
A dog would give you company, when your bairn's at school!
i know the dogs can hel with socks and stuff from the fridge and brining the phone and opening the door etc
it may,lillian,but we remain positive
aye, when i'm having to lie down and it is on my bed frightening the cat :)
I guess so, gremlin.
The cat will learn to love it!!!!
really crossy, i'm really going top have to look into a disabled dog
Crossy, I've always wanted to help train guide dogs and you have inspired me to look for volunteer opportunities. I've always been good at training animals and this would be so worthwhile.
Hi Mimi :)
there are never enough people who take the trainers course.look into it,mimi
{Liz} Good to see you!
Am going to go into my search engine right now, crossy.
yaaa for mimi!
i'm glad your wife's sight has been stable for so long and i hope it remains that way crossy but it still must be difficult for her even though she is used to it
I hope so too
it can be hard, but my beloved is tough as nails(she has to be to put up with me) and we count our blessings
and i will always be around to describe every sunrise, every sunset everything with as much nuance as i can so on her bad days she can see it in her minds eye
Sounds like a great relationship.
she sounds like me crossy but i don't have to put up with you :) (only joking)
i am lucky
lol,lillian
you are such a lovely guy crossy. it sounds like you both deserve eachother
our 20th is coming up this oct first and am racking my mind for ideas.dinner of course but then?..i am not sore
Could I please have the stats for the 8?
she is not big onjewellery.she already has her engadgent ring, her wedding band and her tenth band
Congratulations - 20 years is wonderful.
not sure*
bu 8 / 70 - plural
mimi, that is brilliant.i hope you can do it. i saw a lady in ashop a few months ago training a dog for the blind and she has been doing it for 20 odd years
i must think of something special
thanks, Liz
Not a real word, in my opinion!
Should be hyphenated!
Thank you Liz. I had people say I was wrong when I said that earlier.
Crossy - how about a day just filled with lots of special little things that your wife loves.
why not wait until you are in ireland and get something from there. there might be something she loves or something from that trip that will remind her of it
Great minds, Molly. I knew I liked you :)
I found a guide dog foundation here in Phoenix that is very close to where I live! They were already closed so I will call tomorrow. It would be a privilege to do something so worthwhile and I adore dogs.
good idea,lillian
i don't have the bu8, in fact i don't have any bu's
I have 5 all from the same root word.
crossy wonders if he can sneak a mini cask of glenfidditch onto the plane for a present?? lol
Like glenfidditch!
there you go,mimi! you are on your way!
i hope you can mimi
Maybe tailor an anniversary celebration in Ireland...we Irish love to celebrate! Dinner catered in a castle with musicians?
is that for her or you crossy?
yes,yes,good ieas all
ideas
that's a brilliant idea mimi
lol, lillian you caught me out on the glenfidditch
A surprise outing on the day of your anniversary - somewhere she loves.
:) crossy
I don't drink much but I do love a smooth, single malt!
any single malt is an experience
My best friend's mother has retinitis pigmentosa and is losing her sight---she is 84. Wouldn't be able to help her but would also be doing it in her honor. She would like that.
our local stuff often gets so blended, you have no idea what you are drinking
she would indeed,mimi
i can't drink any whisky.my dad loved all the different whiskies my hubby bought him from scotland and then he got a bottle of something from ireland and i can't remember the name. it wasn't called whisky, i think it began with a p?
i need to ggogle
pouchin?
vokda is my usual tipple but i love a quality whiskey
Poteen, L.
Vodka and bitter lemon! Love it! 24 words left for later. Enjoy your evenings, everyone :)
My friend is actually calling now...must go. Bye and hugs all around.
Also called potcheen and Irish moonshine.
hello all
Hello TO
this is a little toughie after 0 or so

hi minski

Good clue L!
ty molly
ty lilli
y + **** lang sy4
yw nan
Thanks Molly
Good evening and thanks for all the clues
I dropped in for my last 48 but now it is my last 41.
hi wht
*Sets the timer for five minutes* : D
how about the UN7?
*stops entering words and walks slowly over to the chog*
How's it going Molly.
i keep wanting to put the food that hamsters, guinea pigs and us eat!
un and banana pudding made with icecream?
What is that, there is a nut that humans make pie out of.
it isn't is it, is has loads of horrible suirted cream on it
I am sure that hampsters and guinea pigs would like it too.
un + bananas foster?
*squited...my typing sucks
i have absolutely no idea about this thread of conversation
don't know much about rats, sorry
omg, suit, that's worse...lol *squirted
*!* ta da *!* - thanks for the help :)
squited is what happens when I use a can of whipped cream.
are we speaking the english language?
wtg nan
when i put about hamsters etc i was talking about a phantom word
un + chopped a log in half
OK. am I confused or are these clues for the UN7? If they are, I don't get them. sorry.
or un + separated (as in a divorce)
yes - for un 7
squits here in england means when you need the toilet very quickly(as in no2)
un7 and banana *****(pudding)
how about the lone d in the decond column?
That was not exactly what I meant. Thanks for the language lesson, lilliann
sorry wht
there is no lone d
ty for the un7
does not mean pudding here , cheeky.
Got it. thanks cybernan
Good evening!
hey car!
yw
Hi TO!
Hi car
LOL. That was my disconnect. The word pudding on this side of the pond has a slightly different meaning than on the other side.
may i have a clue for the third d in the second column
banana ***** isn't a pudding where youa re TO?
which d do you need TO? which row?
rhymes with fuddy
or are you getting mixed up with the squits..lol
no - it's an ice cream dessert
du5,22 the second half of a word meaning a stick-in-the-mud.
evening all!
oh, what does pudding mean then?
Hi Dan!
hello dan
Pudding on your side I believe is the same as Dessert on this side. I would not call a banana sp5 a banana pudding as banana pudding is a different dessert
hi dan, i used you as a clue earlier :)
Hi wht! Hi Cyber! Hi Minski! Hi Lilliann!
hi car
Is pudding here the same as custard over there?
well we call any desserts a pudding
banana pudding is banana flavored custard or a souterh seddert made with vanilla wafers vanilaa pudding and bananas and meringue
no, custard is custard
Clue please for ad 5/16?
I've never been to England, Ireland, or Scotland so I'm not sure.
pudding is a soft cooked custard
My phantom of the day is deputy.
I don't know, but custard is one of my favorite things!
pudding over here is any kind of custard type of dessert
i really need to go to sleep
car did you figure out one + 1?
we call any dessert a pudding so it could be crumble, cake whatever, if it is a sweet dessert it is a pudding and it comes after the main meal
sleep owl
If I disappear suddenly it is because my ancient laptop overheated and turned itself off for a bit of a break.
HI Dorens!
oh, i didn't know that nan
first realized there was a difference when I ordered sticky toffee puddding and got a spice cake smothered in caramel sauce and topped with whipped cream
Whoops! i need the SECOND ad 5/16!
go to bed TO and have a good sleep hin
that's what I thought Lilliann but it took me a bit to reconnect the disconnect in that clue.
ad + the beginning of your father's brother.
Now I want custard.
ad + short parent's brother
mmmm sticky toffee pudding. my daughter hates sweets but she loves that
is that here or there nan?
TY wht! I thought it had a T at the end.
A + D***an Donuts
I was in Inverness at the time
my mam and the bairn loves sticky toffee pudding. i'm not a pudding person but i do like a fruit crumble
that word has a j in it as well, car.
ah right, well scotland is also different from england so there will be things that arent the same as us
Good grief! Yes, it does!
I'm off to make supper -- steelhead trout on the menu tonight :)
Pudding was originally used to refer just to desserts that were steamed, like sticky toffee pudding or christmas pudding. Over the years, it's come to be a general term for dessert.
Very nice, Cyber! Enjoy!
Nan, and pudding for dessert?
saying that, we also have savoury pudding made with flour and suet and it is filled with beef and gravy normally
You're right, lilliann! I guess it was ANY food that was steamed in a pudding basin.
enjoy nan :)
Leftovers for us. But we did have a bakery-made cheese cake for dessert.
i think it was brent as it was cheap and easy top cook
i hope you enjoyed it gmere and welcome back
I miss steak & kidney pudding (pie, too). It's about the only thing I miss after turning vegetarian.
the last pe6,24 should have been my next to last word, but I still have 15 to go.
years ago in the uk lard and suet was used all teh time to cook which is why we had suet pudding, savoury and sweet
cheeeeesssseeee caaaaakeeeeee!
i prefer savoury pies to savoury puddings
ty lilliann. In the meantime we went out to our little gazebo and read in the warm air.

i don't like chees cake but the bairn is going next door tomorrow night to make one with my neighbour
hello doren
hi gmere

Hi TO. We have been indoors for so many months that sitting outside was a real treat.
i can't believe with 36 to go i've just found the tu4/musical instrument
Well, don't feel bad lilliann....I found it because you just mentioned it and I have 13 left! TY!!!!
Congrats wht!
lol car, glad i could help :)
hi all, just popping in, not going to chat much as I don't feel well
Ice cream is pudding? Trifle is pudding? Cupcakes are pudding? I am so confused.
Murphy and I are going upstairs to watch TV and see what people have been up to while we were minding our own business. Sorry you're not feeling well uu.
Hi uusue! {{gentle hugs}}
Hi Molly! Hi stidgmere!
molly i just HAVE to put the pic some one posted on FB up as my icon. i am betting it is adult hour?
hi gmere, i will feel better eventually, I am sure

hi sue. sorry that you're not well, hope you feel better very soon.soft healing hugs to you hin
headaches and nausea, not as bad as before since I have lots of medicine now but still feel pretty wiped out
Yes, I think you'll feel better too but meantime it is the pits.
yes molly, they are puddings
and molly is gone...
also I have a very early doctor appointment tomorrow morning so I am going to go take a shower now, then go to bed
do you have migraines sue?
never have, lilli, and they said that it would be very unusual to develop them at my age
molly pops ina nd out when you don't expect her or talk about her TO :)
do you have problems with light as in you don't like bright light sue?
Good night all.
At least I don't POOF and RE-POOF : P New mantra...it's all pudding.
not really, lilli, when my headache is bad I don't like super bright light but it doesn't really make it worse
night, gmere!
i think you can get migraines at any age.they told me i was having a migraine when i was pregnant with my bairn but i knew i wasn't and i wasn
*groan*
ohhhhmmmm...puuuuudddddinnnnngggg.....\nohhhhmmmm
sue is it a migraine? thought you two had a bug
Good night stidgmere!
i think you have migraines sue
night, gmere
Damn, there goes the chat width. : O
no, I don't think it's a migraine, and the doctor at the ER last night didn't either although I suppose one never knows. Anyway they are trying various medicines to make it go away.
thank god it's not just me molly. i thought i 'd done something :)
Good night babblers. Enjoy our pudding.
Long ummm post from Car.
night wht!
Good night wht!
with migraines you won't like light
ok molly
as i said earlier when i was pregnant with the bairn because i suffered migraines they told me it was one but i had pre-eclampsia
well, she REALLY likes pudding! :D
night wht,tc
well, I also don't like loud noises or bumpy car rides or having it too hot or cold (although those bother the nausea more than they do the headaches)
da6/27 pls?
Fireworks!
A friend gave me a Ghiradelli dark chocolate and caramel bar (really pudding) today.
I could have da7 all night!
well, I'm SURE it's not pre-eclampsia :-)
Apparently she really does like pudding. A LOT.
wtg car!
lol sue
what i'm saying is that the doctors don't always get it right
doh! ty car!
sign of migraine... pressure on the jugular artery --side of neck-- if it goes away temporarily, then it's migraine
no, that is a chocolate bar, that is totally differnet molly
hey doren
I am heading off to bed...TO you should do the same! Good night everyone!
People don't realize that when they post a LOOONG thing with lots of letters in it, it blows up the chat log.
i think i'd like a ghiradelli dark chocolate and caramel bar!
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo\noooooook
I did it. I'm sorry. I thought I had few enough letters.
LOL sorry, i could easily see that whole post w/out scrolling
there are different types of migraine, i also have basilar, i don't know if that is spelt right but i pass out with it. no headache, just a bit of a pain to the neck and no oxygen getting to the brain so i pass out
Go for it TO. We are already at Defcon 4. : D
Hi all from San Francisco!
Hi Jillibus!
molly did u see my icon?
what I worry about is that it may be my neck going bad again, I have had several fusions already and latest X-ray showed more degeneration above and below the fusions
hi Milli!
GAAAK! JILLI!! dratted fingers

i will come back tomorrow i think. sorry i disturbed all those currently in chat;(..poink
don't leave crossy
crossy don't leave
certainly didn't disturb m :)
*me even
you haven't disturbed anybody. you have been in the chat
don't let some pompous person get to you
Yes, Mr. Arrogant jumps in to toss a bitter comment on a chat he wasn't even involved in. Typical.
exactly molly
he does it on purpose...attention seeking just like my 13 year old. he needs to grow up!!
Or quit obsessing on every single thing that gets said in chat. I feel sorry for people that bitter.
just clicked "who's online" both BR and crossy have signed off.
i don't understand why people have to say nasty things and then disappear.if you have something to say then say it but have the guts to stay and have a retort back
His comment was rude and uncalled for.
Yes, but he referred to everyone in chat as cowards. Right.
i looked too smores and saw that he went
Smores, most of his comments are rude and uncalled for.
he basically said that we are crude
Yes, crossy's tidbit today was a bit vulgar...but if it bothers you just say so, don't insult everyone in chat
we have a laugh and yes sometimes it is based on sex but not blatantly
if you can't take it, switch off the chat
L, he regularly calls people in chat scatologists, which means shit lovers. He lives to insult.
i'm not into alot of things talked about on here but i don't make a nasty comment about it
or you can say you don't like something without insulting people
he did it to me a few weeks ago
Isn't it the study of shit?
It's what was implied Smores.
i'm not bothered about a sad person like that.i have more important things to worry about.life is too short to get upset about someone that wants to upset people
i saw that post too molly
that was what he meant smores
well...I say we have spent too much time discussing this as it is not worth it.
Like I said, I feel sorry for someone who has nothing better to do than obsess over chat, read over chat archives and jump in and insult. Can't be a very happy life.
don't feed the trolls!
if you feel sorry for him then why not stop talking about him... you've been on about this for 12 minutes now
he's beginning to be like a troll and i'm sorry if i'm upsetting babblers here who like him but when he says hurtful things to people which is unjustified then i don't care.no-one should say such hurtful things just to please themselves
lol...hey TO, Dorens :)
means don't talk to or about
hi smores. new topic maybe?
" flush"
doren, how are you? i have a question for you, can you check email?
hi dorens..cats, dogs, weather :)
So how's the weather?
re my niece, guidance needed
lol..lilli

hehe...that's how many I have as well :)

i am haning out because i am waiting for my zantac to work
cool...is it a charity event?
Sorry if the previous comments here bothered people, but it was time for things to be said, I think.
good luck. i thought yuo were going to sleep a while ago
good for you dorens wish i could do that :)
don't be sorry molly, i'm not
yes smokes.. child safety... but it's more about training.. trying to get the body in some sort of shape and challenges, etc
I'm not sorry for what was said, I'm sorry that it seems to have ruffled feathers.
i was,but my overindulgence at dinner has me up and mediating. i don't want to lie down till they work
smoRes not smoKes
I agree Molly...just if we spend too much time on it then he accomplishes what he set out to do
lol not mediating, medicating
You're right Smokes, it's the attention getting thing. And that Smokes was on purpose because it's my favorite auto correct. : D
doren, it is shadfest this weekend. but you will be doing your 5K
That's great Dorens :)
lol...Molly
i've given up on here now, because if your'e nice you ruffle feathers and if your not you do, well i seem to anyway.why should i apologise for havinmg my oponion when someone was blatantly nasty to someone else
not about ruffling feathers, molly, but it was unpleasant. and went on for much too long (12 minutes???, really?)
felt like i wasback in school
no apology necessary Lilli
doren, are you by any chance off on tuesday coming?
I can see what you mean Dorens..just had been ignored too long and I thing we needed to vent.
and no, apology not necessary at all. i just kind of felt like other chat would be more pleasant, and still do no why> is tuesday a holiday?
*think
Agree :)
It was unpleasant? How about what was said? What is always said by the same bitter, nasty poster? And Smokes is right, it was high time it was addressed.
enough is enough
Back to pleasant posting.
it is like being back at school. the bullies get away with it!!!
hs classmate is developing a project (tv or film) and wants women who were in HD in the 60's to come and chat about their remembrances and experienes - JFK.RFK, beatles, MLK, viet nam, etc

Thanks anyway, lilliann.
Just had an interesting experience on Boggle Bash on Pogo. A lady asked if anyone knew how to report a child predator....so I gave her resources and my email. Hope I helped. Makes my skin crawl to even think about it.
ty smores
GA...a southern girl! Pe*** pie...
and i don't like that nut
lol Jilly
Hey Mimi...that is disturbing
Thanks much, smores and Jillyjill.
I referred her to Child Help USA, any crisis hotline and told her her local police could certainly help. Haven't gotten an em from her so will assume she got help for her child....scary.
Makes my skin crawl too mimi...
WOW! Deliberately shouted. Just been reading back - and that's before I joined in earlier this morning. Heavy stuff being discussed! And I like using smiles - words don't convey feelings at times!
omg mimi, i hope she gets in contact witht he police
{Jilly} Haven't seen you in awhile....I missed you!
Did the best I could and offered to do more. We're all in this together, after all, lilliann.
I was off line Su-Wed on a short vacation...
mmm....maybe I need to read back
Did I hear you are going to see ruru this weekend or is that someone else?
nice Jilly...hope you had fun and welcome back
That's Jillibus Mimi..she was on earlier, just arrived today in CA
We did, went to a Hot Spring resort and a day trip to Yellowstone. Was hoping to connect with Trentsnana, but she is out of stake.
Ooooo very jealous of my 'sister' getting to see ruru!
Mimi
I'm so envious! I LOVE Yellowstone. You should have stopped in Arizona and picked me up!
exactly mimi, you couldn't do anymore, you've told her you'll be there for her to contact.:)
MimiCat, please keep in touch with her. There are many reasons people don't report this, but if she knows she has support it will encourage her, hopefully.
Going to try to stay awake and watch "The Hobbit" now. Generally wanting to see a movie is a sure way to put me to sleep! Can try again tomorrow, though.
I know about this, first hand.
rast, you on? Give me a call. RB
Bye Mimi...enjoy :)
aww...peach {hugs}
Help with the un7 plz
Yes, peach, I'm hoping she will find the help she needs. At least I tried. Oh, no, peach....so sorry to hear that. I've done crisis counseling in a paraprofessional capacity for years....it can be heartbreaking.
Bye for now and hugs all around.
left whole Jilly
See you later mimi...
not cut in half
It ruins families and the children for life, as you know.
bye mimi, tc hin and hugs
sorry to hear that peach
hmmm...thinking
Thanks for the hugs, smores. They are really needed. Sometimes I think I'm over it but no, it is still there. And he is still alive.
Thanks lilliann.
My email address is in my profile, peach, if you ever want to talk....happy to do so. Sometimes it's good to vent.
Thanks so much, MimiCat.
My pleasure....many hugs and hope to hear from you.
NOW I'm gone!
{peach} you are still alive too dear...and you have to let yourself be happy...you deserve it :)
peach i've never been in your situation so i don't know what to say but i have been in a situation with an ex so i sort of understand even though i was older, so big hugs to you from my heart.x
Hey lilli - are you still here?
Thanks smores.
anytime peach :)
Thanks to you as well, lilliann.
hey all ((((gentle hugs and choclits for whoever whats them))))
Obviously! Reading back about pudding. In UK terms, what Americans call pudding is more like blancmange or the whip desserts that come out of a packet!
and smores is right you, deserve to be happy and don't let someone get you down.you have a life so live it and enjoy every moment
Hi stid :)
hi stid :)
oh is it liz.i hate blamange
Tom made apple pie today... using the filling I made last summer. :-) it would go well with pudding... of any type!
Hi stid :)
"grabs some chocolate"
I made a chocolate meringue pie tonight
sc5-12 the 2nd please.....thanks
hey smokes! *offers pie to folks, as well*
:)
the bairn had eaton mes tonight when we were out
I have an sc 5/12 that looks like another word for "setting" only a different vowel at the end.
? is that English, Scottish, or Babblish, lilliann?
like a sc**e in a movie..diff vowel at end
sorry peach, i don't have any sc's
eaton mess is english
I understand the offence comment now! Duh!!!! is my only response! You didn't say anything offensive!
my cat is now sitting on my mouse mat so i can't move my mouse
"flushes"
Move the cat!
it means... ate a lot?
oh. cats. LOL
was that offence comment to me liz?
what is eaton mess ?
i can't move the cat,she'll claw my eyes out..lol
Thanks much, stiddie and smores.
yw
go peach go! I am down to 100, but will help in any way I can! :-D
it is crushed meringue, whipped cream, raspberries
Eton mess is meringue and cream and strawberries and yummy!
OK raspberries are fine too!
*wiping drool off keyboard* oh, Liz, that sounds DIVINE
ah...yummy
you have strawberries liz :)
Both is better!
"loves meringue"
and lilliann... hm. I am going to have LOADS of strawberries this year!
and a friend is giving away raspberry canes...
I COULD do both! LOL
i agree with liz, have both
Save some for me!
take them stid
:-)
FW....thanks for all the help. I'm so glad to be in the world with all of you.
YAY peach!!!
Congrats Peach and stay smiling - we love you :)
i have raspberries in my garden but i can't get to them so the birds get them. i keep telling the bairn to get them but she can't be bothered so they get wasted. i would'nt mind but they are expensive to buy
I am so glad you are here, peach --
WTG Peach .... well done :)
Better than the bats, which get our mangos!
yes raspberries are pricey -- even around here where we have a lot of farms that grow them.
yay!wtg peach!! :)
Here too - all berries are expensive!
I think, lilliann, that when we redo your chariot, we should include a hover-craft feature so you can get out in the lawn and visit ALL your plants.
really liz, bats eat mangos?
i have blueberries, black and red currants and the birds get them
Yes - large fruit bats, also known as flying foxes! The cockatoos eat the mangos too, so we rarely get any off the tree!
Loving stid's idea for a hover-chariot!
bats eat everything... bird netting doesn't help, Liz?
I can buy strawberries cheap here, but the rest are quite high
i did have nets over the bushes but then the young birds were getting caught and dying so i got them taken away, as i prefer the birds to get them then die
I guess it would but it's not exactly our tree - a large part of it hangs over our garden though.
lilliann, if you EVER come out this way, I will make sure you can get to (most) of the berries in the garden, even if we have to put down plywood so you don't sink into the mud.
Good Evening Everyone! How are you all today?
i also have strawberries
hi nef
Hi Nef :)
NEF!!!! (bounce bounce bounce) I TEACHED today!
how was your dinner party?
Hey Nef :)
Hi lilli, Lizlin, and (((stid)))
WTG, Stid! :-)
stid, i love the hovercraft idea :)
Fantastic, stid - saw your post yesterday about hoping to teach today and liking the teacher.
we had a lovely time, stud. It was so much fun to have such old friends here. So much laughter and good food and fun
it's a music teacher, and she is so very well organized. I enjoy being in her classroom.
Ooops! STID, (not stud)
aww thankyou stid for the plywood.
Old friends are great - new friends good too but I really miss my old friends in London :(
I am glad, Nef -- it makes me so happy when things go right.
so, how do you stop fruit bats eating fruit, if you can't use nets?
You can't!
actually, lilliann -- a hovercraft might actually work. The technology has come a long way! *tries to think how to retrofit a chair to hover* might have to just plug into the house current to be sure there is enough power, though. We have an acre...
Except by getting out to pick the mangos before they're fully ripe.
how did your teaching go stid? did you enjoy it?
Liz, The Mississippi River runs between Minneapolis and St. Paul. We moved to the St. Paul side 20+ years ago, and the river is like a border here; it works better than the International border between the US and Mexico
when you figure it out stid, can you let me know as i can't get into my back garden in the wheelchair until we have enough money to make it wheelchair friendly
I know the Mississippi is huge but that's quite a barrier!
it went well, lilliann -- planning first period; then "littles" (K and 1 and then 2 for half an hour each), then an empty class because the kids were on a field trip; then only 4 kids for keyboarding (the others on the field trip); then choir (being a vocalist this is the easy one for me); then another field trip class, but I sat in for the PE teacher so didn't have it "off". The last two classes I took outside. It was such a great day.
OR... lilliann -- what about putting off-road bike tires on your chair? they're bigger and wider...
Liz, it isn't that big up here. It's just people "think" that the city on the other side of the river is too different
Sounds like a great day - lucky kids having someone who really knows about music teaching them!
i'm so glad you had a great day stid. there will be more to come
Funny that! I thought nothing of driving across London to visit my brother (from North to South) but here people think that 20 km down the coast is a long way and rarely head down to the places we've discovered.
I so enjoy teaching, that at this point it almost doesn't matter what the content is! AND I had a chance to thank the high school math teacher, because having been in her room so much this year I was a lot more confident teaching the middle school kids when I had them for all those weeks.
i also have a mobility scooter which has wider wheels but i can't get near my shed as we have decking which now needs to be renewed
That's great, when you really enjoy teaching. Used to love being in front of a class - it was everything else that spoiled it!
i need to have the back garden whelchair friendly and also a washing line that i can reach as all my washing as to be dried on the radiators in the house so it's costing me more
subbing is great, liz -- all the fun and very little of the less-fun. Unless I am in a room more than two days I generally don't have to correct anything or plan; or make the phone calls home.
Is the pay good for subbing in the US?
And it doesn't help that the 2 ("Twin") cities were planned by different ethnic groups: St. Paul was laid out by the Irish on the design of the 7 hills of Rome and Minneapolis is laid out on a grid numerically and alphabetically by a bunch of (mainly) Swedes; both back in the 1800's
In the UK it used to be good - but of course if you don't work, you don't get paid.
I guess you get used to the differences, Nef and just adapt depending on where you are!
lilliann, have you seen this site? I love the term "enabled garden" -- I have to be so careful about the size of the beds and how I get up and down. I am close to asking Tom and Grant to put in more defined raised beds so that I can sit and garden.
grrr... my girls are being loud and giggly
had to go quiet them down
Cannot believe I've only just seen the na 4!
the pay is horrible for subbing... I get about the same amount as a paraprofessional for a lot more education and responsibility. BUT until I have a "room of my own" it's better than nothing.
9 d's left!
LOL smores. Spring is in the air!
Any chance in the near future of a room?
lilli, last year when DH was having all the back problems I got out some saw horses and put some long planters (they're plastic and made to hang on deck railing) and then put a bunch of plants in them so he could garden. It worked so well we're going to do it better this year (Our 2 small gardens are raised; but they are only about 12 inches higher than the rest of the yard (we're building them up with our own compost)
oops. forgot the link... http://tinyurl.com/3cu4yvw
Groundforce (if you remember that programme, Lilli) did a raised bed garden for someone in a wheelchair. I'd forgotten until Nef mentioned raised gardens.
Liz, I am looking, but to be honest with building a new house I might be better off putting that on the back burner for one more year.
It's nice to be able to say I am unavailable for a day or a week as needed.
Nef, I love that idea!
Sounds like a sensible idea - but the idea of being able to choose which day to work sounds appealing.
yes, and if I didn't have the student loans to pay off, I would be content to sub forever, I think!
Can I have a clue for de 6 / 27 pls - the first one, after the plural of a male name.
ty stid and nef. we are, well i should say i'm ignoring hubby as it is my garden and he's never here and when he is he doesn't garden design. i want/need raised beds and i still want a lawn but i have someone to cut it every 2 weeks.i need to design something where i can get around in the chair but still do a little gardening,i have arthritis in my fingers and weak wrists so i can't do alot
i want easy gardening but still want my fruit and flowers
Is it possible to find the old Groundforce programme on the internet and get some ideas?
have you considered a different ground cover than grass? something that mounds slightly and doesn't need mowing, that can take some foot (or wheel) traffic?
i like grass so would like to keep some of it the problem i have is that we live on a hill so my garden is sloped
I have some areas of the lawn that are mostly clover, and I really like gardens that put different colorful clumping grasses (also drought tolerant!) instead of green spreading grasses.
so we are going to have to have 3 tiers so i can get to each and they will all have a ramp
That's a great idea
but i want to keep half of it grass too.
Do you have railings by your doors? We have a little 3 foot landing and then 3 steps down to the back yard by one door; we've hung a 3 foot deck railing planter on the flat railing at the top of the steps. It's our herb garden and we have cilantro, parsley, thyme, marjoram, and basil growing there all summer for our cooking
I like that idea! I used to have a "ramp" that I had cut along one side of the yard into the orchard area, but time and kid/critter feet eroded the edges again.
i love the clover idea stid
:-)
i have all my herbs in tubs in the front yard nef we have had that brick paved so wheelchair friendly for me
okay...3 giggling girls and cats...the dog is the only one behaving
that's great, lil!
how do yopu get clover?
good dog!
7 left
buy clover seed? it's a common "cover crop" because it fixes nitrogen in the soil.
I know...she is a good dog
aww, bless him. how does a cat giggle smores? :)
crimson clover is beautiful but short-lived. white clover spreads ... but if you are able to monitor it, it doesn't move too fast.
crimson clover is also taller.
i'll have to look out for it stid, thanks

Sheesh, this iPad keeps correcting me. I meant stid, not Stidham.
iPads do that! So does my iMac - sometimes I check but most often I press enter too quickly!
You can turn the auto correct off though.
Boo - stid always leaves when I arrive!
She had a good day teaching today
Oh, Ty Liz. I guess I just go to Settings?
I am down to 55 lilliann -- and not gone yet jill, just fading fast. having trouble babbling with the tv in the background
Do you want me to get my iPad and check?
Liz, I'm used to Windows
It was sunny in our neck of the woods today, Jill. Hope that means you had a good trip south?
Go to settings. Scroll down and find keyboard. Touch keyboard and then there's a list, which includes autocorrect. Slide the tab to off.
NM Liz - I'll try first - and stid, that's always my problem
Sorry Settings, then general, then keyboard, then autocorrect to off
:-)
Ty Liz I'll do that
I'm sorry; I'm fading too fast here. I can't even concentrate anymore.
Have a good night Nef. Sleep well :)
