speaking of planting potatoes: I have sme tiny "rattes" which were given to e last year but which I didn't use. Now they've sprouted. If I just put them in the groud, will they grow new tiny potatoes?
1/3 mull, peat dust 1/3 compost 1/3 vermiculite
ruby, cut them into sections, each with a sprout. plant, and you will have a wonderful crop of potatoes

yes they will, ruby. Best thing is to use a big trough or bucket. Fill only the bottom and plant the seed potatoes. Each time the leaves come up, cover them with more soil until the bucket is full. That way you will have lots of potatoes in the whole bucket.

I was just going to stick them in the potager, in with the tomatoes (if only), strawberries and raspberries
rose, that mixture holds the water, never gets too wet if you make sure there are holes in the bottom of the planters. Works like a charm.

Mary Anne was the MIL of my clinic nurse. She ended up having stomach cancer that metastisized to all of her organs and perforated her stomach.
The pain meds weren't working at first because of liver and other involvement; and she died 2 days after they took her to the ER.
Sad story
Her family was all at the bedside when she died; and it was very peaceful and beautiful according to my nurse.
Thank you for all the prayers. (My DIL has been a bit crazy lately; so I'd forgotten about asking for prayers for Mary Anne
