The reserve was established to preserve the spectacular "tu4 towers," calcium-carbonate spires and knobs formed by interaction of freshwater springs and alkaline lake water.

Hello all -- back from a weekend with family -- and bridge tonight.
hiya jilli, wb. Did you have a good time?
Had a great time -- also in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago, partly with ruru and kje
awesome :)
I suppose alsomast everyone has finished this little grid by now?flit

am doing well! Real progress in therapy, better meds, slowly getting my life back together, it seems.
That's great! It's been a long haul.
and how about you? Going strong and enjoying life?
hi everyone
it has. I have to say, now with the new meds, I can understand why it took so long. No way to function when the brain doesn't.

hi sprite
Heya spritely one ..

good morning all
lovely to hear, jilli. You know that when I grow up, I wanna be li4 you, right?
g'morn Glan
hiya Glant :)
hi Glant
from the sublime to the ridiculous - yesterday's huge grid to a tiddler
When I grow up, I want to be a kid ..
I'm not growing up
well put, Glant
I remember that, sprite. Hi glant.
half way
How big was yesterday's grid? I wasn't online -- driving from son's place to the ferry, which left at 9:35 pm our time -- 25 minutes before the flip, and an hour and a half to Salt Spring Island, then 20 minutes home...
nice going
not a monster but big... 350+
it was too big to finish - somewhere around 370 words
not as big as that record one -- I've forgotten the size
and it had a surprising number of obscure words for such a big grid - think i managed a thrid of it and gave up
over 700...
That's not much fun
744?
no Lickety yesterday either
yes I think so, jilli. That was fun!
big grid on a weekend is fun, not so much on a working day
I was busy and couldn't attempt it
I think flosey did it though
it happened on a good day... lots of people could play and were online a good part of the day... very great community day
yes, that was a fun day
i enjoyed it - hadn't been babbling long and didn't finish
nbt
everyone was chatty and helping each other
yes :) Good memories.
and this nbt is ALL 4-letter words
i need an A from the middle column for NBT
I'm sorry I missed that 744 one
but i@ve managed a couple fo 5 letter words - pt endings
alt spelling for first greek letter, Glant
al5/12
am sorry you missed it too, jilli, would have been great to have you with us
TY sprite - NBT
or a man's name, glant -- al4/4
ty sprite
ty jilli
yvw. Add chinese energy to the letter and you will have the odd al6
I thought Chinese energy was qi
i thought it was chi
I thought it was kirowatts ..
japanese energy then. Same sound as your word, jilli.
found it, ty
NBS
depends on which transcription system is used. Since chinese and japanese don't use our letters, it is transcripted for outside use.
lol torg!
fireflies. Have a peaceful evening, all of you, and a lovely day.
I'm used to the old Wade-Giles Chinese transliteration and the current Pinyin is so frustrating.
g'night sprite
g'night all
well done sprite
Nitrous sprite ..
night mcleach
It would have been chi the old way, now qi. Is the q pronounced ch in any other language but (now) Chinese?
Great job, sprite -- so glad to see your fireflies again!

funny flosey!
and so are my eyes crossing -- bedtime!
Goodnight/day all...*poof
goodnight jilli
night, jilli. sleep well, my friend
hi rose
himself just arrived home with some of our weekly grocery shop. it's amazing what falls into the trolley when i'm not there.
hey flosey, dear
was off for a few days, over to Vancouver with daughters
had 2 mothers days - one here with son from Toronto, then over with girls
does anyone have a clue for la7? have been monkeying all around it I'm sure
i saw that the other night/day. did you have a lovely time?
wonderful, thanks rose
flosey, similar to a statute
thanks rose, looking
forget that other L is down there
or, statute + prefer something a lot, not love, but....
got it, thanks
flosey, my house is full of flowers. it's absolutely great.
and yay flosey, well done
how lovely
in one of the bunches there is a decorative cabbage. i really am gonna have a go at growing them. they are amazing.
girls gave me a huge bouquet of sunflowers with purple flowers in the centre - but I couldn't bring them home - flew there and back on the float plane - no room for such
awww, what a pity!!!
yes, left them with the one I was staying with
*giggle* even himself bought me flowers this year.
wow, how nice
son from TO made dinner Friday night and also chocolates
the other son's wife sent me a lovely e-card with note that they'd see us in July - something more to look forward to
they are also in Toronto
also nice flosey. mine took me out for a devonshire tea(coffee), ex-DIL came. she burst into tears when i gave her a bouquet of yellow rose, and wished her a Happy Mother's Day. her own sons are on the opposite side of our continent.
oh, lovely rose, must be hard on your ex DIL, having her sons so far away
but how thoughtful of you, that was lovely, rose
it is flosey. she is such a beautiful person. it breaks my heart to see the agony she is going through.
as for my son, her ex....if i ever see him again, it will be way to soon. i so want to slap him HARD!!!!
ah, that's sad
but your heart must ache to be so upset with him
flosey, he's a 5 year old in a soon-to-be 40 year old body.
ah, rose, but that hurts
he had the same opportunities as my other 2 sons....he just doesn't want to follow the advice given by the counsellors. too much li4 hard work.
hun. i have decided to be thankful for what i have. an adoring husband, 2 loving sons and their wives, and 2 beautiful grandchildren, and a very loving ex-DIL. what more could a person want? Daniel has made his bed, he must lie in it!!
true, rose, but I know it hurts
I am down to 3 and can't find them, perhaps related? al6, 5, 7
just got the 5
yeah, you are right, dear friend. but i must go on. if i dwell on it, i think i would go nuts!!!
understand that, rose.
al6, Al5 Life Force + vowel + **t, soldier's gear
al7, add double vowel to al5
wow, that's a strange one, thanks rose
yup, sure is....i had to read it twice to make sure i wasn't seeing things.
and do you know what? dictionary.com has no definition for it...
that's strange
and that's FW, thanks so much rose
WTG FLOSEY!!!! so well done, hun
ty, and now, with this numbed skull, I must do the Limosity I've missed while away (I usually do it every day - lumosity.com)
trying desparately to maintain some semblance of memory
goodnight now, enjoy the rest of your day
lol, flosey, sweetie, you have it all together, hun. no doubt about it!!!
hmmm. maybe i ne4 to visit lumosity.com....have a great day/ night flosey.

hmpf...pathetic little grid
Better than yesterday, 359 and no list
Hi bichon :)
Hi dears. How are your dear days so far? : D
there was a list yesterday...did it maybe not get updated until evening?
Nope, it didn't
I'm lovely dear and you?
ah..I didn't get to it until evening
Lesson learned. If the list is not up, email Lickety. He had no idea that the list had not updated. (He has it set to do that automatically). His computer was frozen. Only one person (thanks Erda) thought to email him.
I got to little more than half way and gave up. Need my sleep
YaY Erda :)
I didn't finish either bichon..it was fun grid though..just got started too late
I gave up around 8PM our time [EDT] and it wasn't up by then.
that was about when I started...probably an hour later before I checked
I must get ready for work...be back this evening :)
another grid not finished, one of many. And so it goes <gg>

Clues went up around 5PM chat time.
Bye...enjoy the day dearies :)
Bye! Be pleasant!
haha...always :D
and yes Molly, the dearies was for you..lol

Unreal. Restaurant 4Fourteen in Australia is offering a bacon and egg sandwich for $120.00. Why you ask? It has caviar and fois gras on it. Blech.
What a way to ruil eggs and bacon
*ruin
No kidding. I have no idea why these new age foodie people feel the need to muck up a basically good thing.
I am continually grossed out by what is being done to pizza these days.
But I will hush now, because opinions are not welcome here. : X
clue for la7
Compound word. What gets enacted by Congress + a similar to word

and now it is time for crossy's tidbit of the day!!!
“Pepsi-Cola†is an anagram for “Episcopal,†which some believe the drink is named after. But then “Britney Spears†is an anagram for “Presbyterians,†so we’re inclined to discount this theory.
LOL! Great one, Crossy!

*phew - wipes brow*
this little grid has some big teeth
I don't like the little ones...yesterday's was so much fun. I never get them all but at least on the bigger ones I feel like I've accomplished something.
so agree Mimi
monkeys finally found that middle i - whoohoooo

Thank your monkeys for me, too, crossy, for that one.
mmm:((

...do I smell birthday cake? ... yum...
google www.am980.ca
then listen live....
Yes, ruru---the monkeys are making one.
will do - but must get back to work now - good day all - hi and bye ruru
indeed, ruru.it is our very own mimi"s birthday!!
A young man posted his truck for sale and last monday took 2 men for a test drive..he hasnt ben seen since..they have found his cell phone, and truck about 100 miles apart..and made 1 arrest..
hope you have a great day mimi.. Happy Birthday
Bye River.
a guy was selling his truck on kijiji or something....went out with these 2 guys... now missing more than a week..and the hamilton police very activily encouraging public input...
Have a good one mimi..happy birthday
enjoy the day mimi
Thanks, ruru. Nothing planned. Too hot here now. We had 103 degrees yesterday and will be the same today.
the police say "significant" update
significant development
Thanks, Jan.
ugh..i want twit..twit...twit...grrrrr
jan...if I make any of the helwa....do you want some?...i think it makes a lot of a batch... more than I could want or need...
No sweets for me..this is asugar free house..but thanks :)
no sweets even for Indiabob?
our poor carlee would perish in a sweet free home:))
ok
i love baking way too much!....
well indiabob certainly scarffed back the carrot cake :p
not so much the sweets for me crossie...it is just that i love to bake
i check my sugar levels every time i hear about her baking:))
Indiabob wouldnt say no..he is sweet-starved..but he is also a bit on the chunky side
oh bob is fine.... need a bit of meat to snuggle up to
i find if you stop eating them..it's easier to not crave them.. once you start having sweets it is a downward spiral.
crossy has a weakness for fresh baked bread/buns/bagels.i can get fat without the need for any sweets:))
ahhh...i love baking bagels
here we go..press conference is starting
I love ice cream.. I have to not walk down that aisle at the store
he is dead
:(
I'm with you, crossy. Love fresh bread, especially sourdough.
Ruru...my new favorite ice cream is Ben & Jerry's Coffee Heath Bar Crunch....too good.
damn...
human remains are tom bosma...oh frig..body burned
yup.listening live as well
walked in halfway thru the conversation - who's dead? (If it's not too rude to impose x)
My big vice is soda...not diet either. Gave it up years ago and lost 20 lbs. just from doing that one thing. Should try it again............
oh is a man who has been missing in hamilton ont...he had his truck for sale on kijiji...went to take out with a potential buyer... went missing a week ago... just announced body found
my brother used to drink two!! 2 litre bottles of coke a day and gained over 100 pounds in 3 years.he has since given it up
mine is Ben and Jerry's Karmel Sutra
oh right. RIP x
there has been 1 arrest
he leaves a wife and little girl behind:(\
I think about giving it up but I have so few vices left!
all the more reason to trade in your old cars
:(
i drink club soda...once in a while ( couple tmes a month...pepsi)
i drink gingerale on occasion..as long as there is a little vodka to water it down with:)
terrible that we now live in a time where you have to have someone with you to watch your back if you dare sell a vehicle privately:(
yeap... sad indeed...
It is sad...i sold one a few years ago..took the guy for a drive..that wont happen anymore
I'm always amazed now when people meet total strangers from an ad alone....just not a good idea.
i worry about stanley... i mean he is huge and scary looking... but still...he sells tonnes of stuff on kijiji
indeed,jan.the world is changing
And men think they're safe but we see that is not true.
and not for the better
Both of my sons are 6'5" so I haven't worried too much but, of course, it doesn't matter how big you are if there is a gun.
no,it does not
well...guns not so prevalent up here... no idea how this guy died yet... and fortunately stanley works security so he knows how to "deal" with situations
but he in hamilton...ugh
I hate it when I've lamented the time being so bad now and someone says it has always been that way but we just didn't hear about it as much. NO!! If things were this bad even in the 50's and 60's we would have heard about it...after all, we did have TV, radio and newspapers...not relying on the pony express!
well, maybe the states is right.perhaps we should loosen our hand gun laws and everyone can be packing iron or everyone can have the right to be packing concealed iron that is
well... we did mimi BUT...we relied on evening news and evening news had to choose the "big" stories...and for ratings..had to have equipment to get TO the story...back then..party line phones... and news crew with film on site...
It's the wild west here. See guys with guns in holsters plainly in sight...and it's legal. But at least you know they have them. Concealed is scarier.
I've always been sorry that my children never knew the freedom I had as a child.
my brother lives in nevada now and he says getting a hand gun there and a concealed permit is just slightly harder than getting a prize in a cracker jack box
now a days...so many 24 hour news... and the ways in which we receive news...
information overload in many cases
here...my kids did... my kids would leave at 9 or 10 am ( in summer) where they landed for lunch..ate...where landed for dinner..ate....if i had 20 kids show up at my house for lunch...they were fed
that's a really great comment mimi.. that is so true
I no longer have cable so I pick and choose what I look at from the news....much less stressful.
when we were kids,on a weekend,we would be out the door after breakfast, then in to bolt down 2 or 3 sammiches and some soup then right back out untill you heard our mum hollaring for us as dusk fell
as di i mimi
do
Carlee, my house was the house all the kids came to. I stayed home so I let the other moms know that if their kids were scared or wanted company they could always come to my house.
our neighbourhood ( for my kids) there would be neighbourhood sleepovers...boys and girls..they all just grew up together...ages 5-18... and there were nights there were 20 mids in tents in back yards...
I do believe it was a kinder world back then. Neighbors helped each other and the kids "belonged" to everyone and we all looked out for them. I still do watch out for my neighbors and will continue to do so.
kids* not mids
or a basement full of sleeping bags every which way...
yes, mimi.we lost something along the way
hello everybody
{{crossy}}
((ruby))
and it's even Tuesday
When my kids were young our neighborhood was very affluent and most of the other parents were very concerned that their houses were perfect and the kids had to tiptoe around their own homes. In my house there was usually a blanket over the dining table for a tent and half of the time I was under there with them. I wanted my kids to be comfortable in their home.

I think my son has divrced me; nary a word for mothers' day
Only heard from one of mine, ruby, as expected. Probably won't hear anything for my birthday today.
well then, ruby, here is a lovely yellow rose from crossy for mother day.i lost my own mum long ago and would be proud if you accepted my rose:)
happy birthday to mimi!!!!
<--loves crossy
You're a good man, crossy. Big hug.
Thanks, ruby.
*~*~*~Mom's day POMPOM TWIRLY TOSS*~*~*for ruby <3
thank you, carlee, I needed that
Now I'm always sad at this time of year....but vodka helps!
to help myself, I just picked the first bouquet of lilacs from my little bush/tree
and they are gorgeous!
mmm,vodka..been dryer than a popcorn fart around here all month...
oh... i ADORE lilacs...
I'm drinking a "nessie", vodka, water and a Tuscan Pepper hanging over the rim
crossy do you still have my essay lying about <snrot>
hehe,think i have 2 of them kicking around,carlee
I hope it doesn't hurt the pant, cutting the flowers, but they are so beautiful and were wasted in the garden, out of sight of the house
plant*
I so much miss having a garden. Planning to move later in the year or beginning of next and looking for a little house up in the mountains. Want to get away from the heat, too.
doesnt... helps..you will get more blooms next year
then they will be perfect for your table then, ruby
Ruby, generally, cutting helps get the plant fuller.
losing interest in this grid
Me, too, carlee. Actually, I kind of lost interest when I saw it only had 60.
I haven't lost i nterest in the grid yet, but with 9only 16 words, I don't see much future....
i have 34 left...
I have 40 left...and will probably leave it that way. Going to go make breakfast. Have a good one and hugs all around.
happy birthday mimi
phantom: kalif
34 left here.will go refresh my babble eyes and be back
Ruby, maybe I should pretend I'm in France and start vodka early!
Ruby, shame on your son for not calling you on Mother's Day. You need some men in your life who will treat you like the good person you are.
that was my phantom as well, ruby
OK, I'm, going to bite the bullet and see what's up with my son. It can't be worse than what's in my mind
I'll call him after dinner
Crossing my fingers for good news, Ruby - however fantastic.
this may be Dutch courage (pardon me, sprite), but it's better than nothing
and if it's bad, it's better than not knowing
ty helens and molly. I appreciate your support

I get tired of the words that have no definition, but are playable here and in Scrabble.
The only definition I could fine elsewhere, and that ends in qui, is a teacher of Muslim law.

this footman, who had been acting as valet to james bellamy while they were on a fox hunting vaca in the country, was being all gossipy in a pub, and it caused some trouble

Hello all! Little grid today...
Hi Jill
Hi miss molly!!
How is life in God's country today?
Warm, sunny...but I spent it at work..LOL
Well, there is always that open window drive home. And it's the time of year when we still have daylight once we get home from work. Yay!
Open windows and open sun roof count? Plus, we have no procedures for tomorrow...gonna get outside!
Sun roofs are great. I wish I had one.
I have a new book (Mother's Day present) so I read outside before dinner.
nbt/nbs...Yay!!
I had wanted a sunroof ALL my life, finally got one at 52...
Nice...did you put on sunscreen?
No, I was soaking up some Vitamin D. And by the way, Microsoft is ALREADY coming out with Windows 8.1 (Windows Blue) because Windows 8 has been such a failure. Wish I had waited to buy a new laptop.
Never a perfect OS is there?
The good news is, it will be a free update, installed as a Service Pack, if you already have Windows 8.
That'd be us!
<---!!FW!!
Well, must head out... nice chatting with you Molly!
Yay Jj!
i have a five letter al word that the grid accepts but likety does not...it's a common word
Lickety has 9 al words, which is the right number
Yeah, there is no discrepancy between Lickety and the grid list today.
i think my likety page just stopped working....i closed and reopened it and it works ok now...never had that problem before...
So, is Babble ruled by you MollyL?
hi all, politics chat again?
yes
oh, no! lol
lmao!!!
nbt woot
too bad there are some that think their thoughts and beliefs should be worshipped . Wow It's only a word game.
some people believe there is only one right answer, theirs!
you are so right:))
So quit your wihining and your bitching and play the game.
especially about the really important stuff, like, should i put on a coat or not? lol
they really need to get a grip.
we's just kiddin' all ready, sheesh
I know some people don't know our sense of humor.
Bzznbea, you could be a classmate of MollyL, you're both around the same age from your profiles.
Good Evening all. It is HOT in MN! 96 degrees today.
I wish we had some normal weather for a change
Wow!!
oh, good, weather chat! we're saved!! lol
Didn't you just have snow?
and it is too cold for the season in and around detroit, low 50s today
Yes we are saved Gwen.
Yep 2 weeks ago today we had 4 inches of snow. THis past weekend we had cold high winds; now this
saved from idiocy
:-) Weather is always a good topic
yes it is. Oh by the way Nef, hello
just found the al6/39. silly word, that
*delurking* Blueheron, are you aware of the blue heron nest cam on Cornell's Ornithology website? 5 eggs about to hatch any day now!
really?
Hi blueheron and everyone else.
oooh, birdie eggs!
hi nef, feather, and all
thanks feather!!
http://cams.allaboutbirds.org/
our class has been watching the red tailed hawk babies for a while now. we saw the one egg hatch in real time.
Wendy, you act like a 13 year old. That is why I don't play at night.
that's pretty cool, feather!
welcome! i've had birds on the brain lately, so your name jumped out at me, lol
who's wendy?
???? who's Wendy, Bzzn?
just got back from 2 wks in england and find all this sniping on the chat bar--what's the problem? Nef, I'm going to be in Mlps end of June. I'l have bks at an ag educators conference, also I need to tell Bichon not to bother to go to Minster Abbey, the covecote's locked.
hey, i was trying to end the sniping, thank you 8-)
if anyone goes there right now, the heron cam has night vision, and the 2nd cam on the red tailed hawk's nest also has night vision (but not the main camera).
Hi RoundBarn. You told me about the convention beofree you left for England; I'm hoping we can meet! :-)
awwww, but it's still light enough to see the babies! go see!!!
hey, there's a dalak in the grid (yeah, i'm slow)
nef, I need to get you my cousins' address.
I don't like dalaks; I used to have nightmares from them (back in the 80's). So my daughter set her phone ring to the dalak's "Exterminate!" voice!
sorry, nef!
There is a troll in here. Beware.
okay, RoundBaarn. I live up in Shoreview; but can drive all over the Cities without getting lost
a common problem in public chatrooms. i'm always on guard
over on wordsplay.net we have had a troll problemm for awhile, hopefully it will shut up now that the gosnell trial is over
oh-oh. RoundBarn, are you on FB?
RoundBarn; I bookmarked your info last time we talked I think. I'll "talk" to you before your mtg.
nekkid is my 1st word -- literally the first one i saw, heh
hello dear friends
yep, me too shirlock!

Hi Trif
I think that was my first word too! gmta!
hello nef
how was your vacation from kids, Trifi? (sorry I haven't seen you sooner than this
anyone have a clue for the al 7/28?
its okay nef. vacation was okay. I was glad to see them, but it was nice to be on my own a bit, and get to play house with my valentine a bit too.

al 7 is a creature from another planet + doubloe vowel
thanks Gwen!

i did some, nef, yes. mostly I had fun. went to a bruins game, out dancing, dinner with friends, etc.
but some housework, yes
Wonderful, Trifi! Glad to hear you didn't just clean your house the whole time! :-)
hi again :)
nope. I have to admit, cleaning bores me to tears. and it shows, unfortunately.
hi smores
Hey Nef :)
i have rather dug my heels in, you see. the girls are 13 and 16. there is just NO reason for me to be doing it all myself. So I have to learn to live with their squalor, which is not pleasant, but if I don't draw a hard line, I will be waiting on them forever.
me also hates to do housecleaning
i hear that is true of most daleks, gwen....
once exterminated a carpet
oh, by the way - my friend steven and his daughter invented a BRILLIANT car game - whenever you see a Ford Escape, yell TARDIS! As they are bigger on the inside than they look :)
lol
Troll?
mmmm, that is a rival to my car game, "Mushroom", when you see a Ford Fusion, 2013 model (teailights look like a muchroom) you yell Mushroom!
phone= arrgh!
taillights, not tealights, OY
I bet people constantly comment on your brake lights BDG.. :D
i have a scoring system: any naturally occurring mushroom color (white, brown, black, gray) is 1 point. any red or blue one is 2 points. other colors (which I have yet to see, such as green and yellow) are 5 points
no, i don't have a 2013 car! i have a 20yo car!
*watches joke fly over gwen's head*
9 words to go, i am listing to port
I don't see a troll blue?

i have looked up the al6 on 4 websites now (dictionary.reference, thefreedictionary, wikipedia, and scrabble, and none has a definition)
maybe you need to use an arab dictionary... ;o)
might work, but who would read it for me lol
Neil?! what's up? :D

AL7 per Merriam-Webster: one to whom property is transferred
penalty box, ruru!!!
When in doubt, make one up. Often funnier that way. :P
-ator is one from whom it is transferred
All I was able to find was that it can also be spelled this way: alfaqui. Great... but what does it mean?
Oh thanks, Seain. Google didn't return a definition.
ooh, a big clue neil!!!
th
it means go screw yourself in Iran

Yay Trifs!
hey folks *calls in for a supply of O2, smelling salts and a fainting couch for ru*
hi welki
hi, pen!
Hi welki.
Hi, all! Just had nice little birthday dinner and now am having martinis....lots of martinis. My word skills may soon be impaired.........
Hi Mimi. Sounds like fun.
shaken or stirred? vodka or gin? olive or onion? *living vicariously through mimi's martini's*
OK, welki, let's face it....vodka straight...no martini.
Not even shaken or stirred....barely hitting the ice.
well, you enjoy your birthday drinks - that's how crossy describes his martinis - just pass the bottle of vermouth over the glass and say a prayer to some franciscan brother - works for me :)
My line is that we pour the liquor and say a prayer for the absent vermouth...same idea.
hi again. I had to do switch laundry loads and got distracted along the way.
After the heart attack last year, just glad to be alive for this birthday.
hi, nef :)
happy birthday, Mimi!
{Nef}
hi welki. How's the fishing?
season opens on wednesday - will be fishing on saturday :)
oh. Our season opened last weekend and many of the la**s still had ice on them!
Absolutely nothing better than fresh fish over a campfire.......oh, nostalgia....it has been years.
would be nice to have a perch fry this year - they were small last year
we're mostly catch and release - maybe keep a trout every couple of years
best coating for fried fish that DH ever came up with was crushed Cheerios (one of the kids spent the 3 hours traveling to the resort crushing the whole bag -when he was 8)
seasoned? with what?
good strategy, nef - now he knows that it would take about a minute with a rolling pin (or a couple of seconds with a food processor)! *LOL*
believe it or not; I think it was salt, pepper and cinnamon?
When I was young my father stopped taking me fishing with him because he would catch a fish and I would beg him to release it saying "It's drowning in the air." Wow...that memory really takes me back!
LOL, Mimi! :-)
Am getting drunk and nostalgic.......
my oldest daughter was like that, mimi - she'd ask if i 'deaded' the fish, who 'deaded' the duck - the final straw for her was when i bought into a buffalo and butchered it in my kitchen - she's been a vegetarian every since
and ever since, too
The cool thing was my father DID release the fish for me. He was such a kind and gentle man. And not biologically related to me, either....even more remarkable.
Oh, my, welki! A buffalo? You butchered your part in the kitchen?
hi all!
hi sue!
{{sue}}
hi nef and mimi!
part martha stewart, part earth-mother, nef - neither of them really worked out for me
Am getting a bit drunk on my birthday, sue....let's see how weird I get on Babble!
well yeah, they kind of did - but i prefer to buy my meat already butchered now and presentation shmesentation - who cares
hey sue :)
Happy Birthday, mimi!!! I had forgotten your birthday was so close to mine!
hi welki!
When is your birthday, sue?
the 25th
and if your profile is right we were born in the same year!
I'm writing that down, sue.....don't want to miss the chance to wish you a happy birthday. Yes, I am now officially old as dirt...so I guess you will be, too!
indeed I will :-)
Am writing my memoirs, sue, and, oh, the stories I'm telling! They'll need TWO miniseries to convert the book to film!
tee hee!
Yeah, now that my looks are gone, I must settle for being colorful.
colorful works for me :-)
Sue, how is Frank doing and are you doing well?
he's ok, mimi, the chemo is getting harder on him. I am dealing with stress as you can imagine.
And - we are getting married on Friday!!!
Just to prove the vodka is working, my phantom now is aioli...oh, boy.
Married again, sue?
What can I say :-) fourth time is a charm
but Frank and I were engaged in high school, then drifted apart when we went to different (distant) colleges, got back together about 6 years ago
Yay, Sue!!! Nothing like adding a little more stress to yhe pot though...
Bless your hearts....am always so amazed people can find love and companionship. I never did....but tried for 23 years with my ex.
Sue, I am still friends with my first love at age 15.
it will be a very tiny wedding, just the minister, her partner, my son and his girlfriend, and Frank and me
we'll throw a party later in the summer once everybody feels better
I was 16 when Frank and I met...
<--didn't have a first love
Beautiful, sue....truly inspiring.
{{ruru}} You must have had a first love if you have a last one......
Congratulations Sue!! Happy news!
I have been blessed with many wonderful men in my life (and a couple of stinkers). Am done now but no regrets.
thanks, GR!
*GE
(silly fingers)
Hey, sue, I'm the one who should be typing weird by now...vodka fingers.
ha, I don't need any excuse, just naturally a bit clumsy
Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it, sue!
I was so pleased that so many of my friends from high school (over 40 years ago) wished me a happy birthday on Facebook....such dear people.
I think I have one high school classmate who is a friend on Facebook - I do have several from college
Hi Sue!
hi neil!
And congrats on your upcoming wedding. :)
I have been so blessed to have people from so long ago come together for a lunch for me when I was in town a few years ago and tell me stories about my kindness and their remembrances of me.....truly a wonderful gift. I didn't remember the instances but was so touched they did. And...didn't know how many of the guys had a crush on me!
thanks neil!
and that is very sweet, mimi!
yw :)
I've seen you on Yahoo and IMed you, but never had a reply, Sue?
So special to renew vows, sue.....I will be thinking of you on Friday. Need to leave now so hugs all around.
I'll log in there again in a bit. Have to get off here for now and help with some chores though.
Take care everyone.
my Yahoo IM isn't set up on my new computer, neil
anyway I need to head off too, see you all tomorrow!

I don't have so many clothes to do; I'm also washing pillows and winter bedding this time. I should have spread that job out over a couple of weeks......
yeah, but not as much as ironing them :)
I've folded a lot of clothes today. The baby (i'm nannying again) has been extra spit-uppy last few days.
i find ironing relaxing and rewarding. :)

we've been on the edge of freeze warnings here this week. very cold for here at this time of year.
yeah it got down in the 30's here the other day...strange weather indeed
We just had two really hot days - 90's and 100's
it was very cold and windy this past weekend; but today it was 96 degrees. And later this week it's going to cool way down again
it was in the 80's last week...

it should be in the low 80s -- we've had highs in the low 60s on a good day. And into the 30s at night!
